15 Best Seafood Restaurants in Reims

Though Reims is world-famous as the unofficial capital of Champagne, the city has quietly cultivated a dining scene that rivals its sparkling reputation. Tucked between Gothic cathedrals and Art Deco facades, the culinary landscape here is deeply rooted in French terroir, yet refreshingly open to modern influences. For locals and travelers alike, seeking out the best seafood in Reims is a delicious paradox—an inland city serving some of the freshest oysters, langoustines, and sole this side of the Atlantic.

The secret lies in Reims’ strategic position along historic trade routes connecting the coast to the capital. Daily deliveries from Boulogne-sur-Mer, Dieppe, and even the Mediterranean ensure that fish arrives at kitchens within hours of being unloaded from the boats. Chefs in Reims have mastered the art of treating this delicate produce with respect, whether through classic French techniques or contemporary platings that surprise and delight.

But where should a discerning diner begin? The choices range from Michelin-starred dining rooms with crystal chandeliers to lively brasseries where platters of fruits de mer are shared with crusty baguette and a chilled glass of Chardonnay. Some restaurants lean into the region’s champagne identity, pairing seafood with precise, mineral-driven cuvées that elevate every briny bite. Others focus on simplicity, letting the quality of the catch speak for itself without unnecessary embellishment.

Understanding the local dining culture is key to enjoying seafood in Reims. Lunch is often a leisurely affair, while dinner reservations are essential, especially on weekends when both tourists and champagne houses entertain clients. Menus change frequently—sometimes daily—based on what the fishmonger brings to the kitchen door. This seasonality is not a limitation but a promise of freshness that defines the best tables in the city.

Price points vary dramatically, from affordable lunch formulas under €30 to multi-course tasting menus that celebrate the finest langoustine, turbot, and caviar. The common thread among the best establishments is sourcing: ask any top chef in Reims about their fish supplier, and you will hear names of small-scale fishermen and women who text photos of the morning’s catch before the sun has fully risen.

In this guide, we have curated the fifteen best seafood restaurants in Reims, each selected for its commitment to quality, consistency, and that ineffable French art de vivre. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply craving a perfect dozen oysters after a day of cellar tours, these addresses will not disappoint.

Walked past this establishment, fish counter at the front with a small restaurant at the back. What a gem find! Both the guy at the front and lady who worked at the restaurant have impeccable knowledge of the produce and drinks. Plus they speak English. The food pics should speak a thousand words. Thank you guys for the wonderful evening. Best to book online on their website.

This is an exceptionally delightful restaurant for lovers of fish. We had made a reservation for dinner on a Saturday evening, and it proved to be well worthwhile. The atmosphere in this intimate restaurant makes one feel truly valued as a guest. The wine list is extensive, and the staff possess an excellent knowledge of what they serve. A place to indulge the palate and savour every last bite.

We are oysters outside the bar as it was a fully booked restaurant. We ate three kids of oysters and enjoyed some delicious white wine with them. It was delicious and would come again. The only thing to note is that the prices at the window are for takeaway and dining in prices are different.

One of the best we found. Modest looking and wasnt a commercial highlight. Had very fresh assortment of oysters. Try the set with 3 types from different regions. Grilled crevettes & clams with pasley butter was very good. We came for the soupe de poisson and was not disappointed. I could have had 2 portions all to myself. Bon appetite!

Amazing experience, food, drinks and value. Complimentary amuse bouche to start. Madagascan jumbo shrimp, spider crab legs , Jumbo crab legs, Bottle of LP, whole baked sole, vegetable and cucumber/rice for circa €160. Everything was delicious. Service was friendly, helpful and food was staggered in such a way that we were there for over two hours just savouring every moment. You can basically create your own seafood platter with a huge range of options. Really special meal. The best meal I have had in a while.

My husband and I went here for dinner and enjoyed every moment of it. The food was delicious, the restaurant was very clean and the staff lovely. Our server, Aurélia was friendly and very helpful. We will definitely return when we next visit France.

Great family lunch in very spacious place. Moules selection was great and kids menu of a very good value. Lucas our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The kids corner was also a great idea and allowed parents to relax in peace. Will be back next year.

Have not dined at a Leon since they rebranded and was pleasantly surprised to discover a pretty varied menu and reasonable prices. My little fried fish were crispy and fresh and the mussels (Curry and classic) were tasty as always. Only the fries could be served hotter (I think they sat around somewhere for a little too long) and I forgot to ask if they were bottomless like they were long ago.

I am enamoured by this place. Eating seafood by the side of the road, brought me back to the ocean with every single bite. Is there any thing else as delicious as this to reminds us of what makes life worth living? Anyway, I came here to write a restaurant review, but all I can say is that this small kiosk with oysters made me want to stand up and give it a standing ovation.

exactly what we been aiming for - second breakfast - 2 different oysters in different sizes - the special been super tasty - not like the others haven't been good but special is the to go oyster here for sure. 2 champagne and I think 1 wine available.

The food was absolutely delicious, we really enjoyed it! I would definitely come back and would 100% recommend this restaurant. A special thank you to Axel, our waiter, who was amazing from start to finish. He was very friendly, smiley and welcoming, and really helped make our evening even more enjoyable. He made us feel very comfortable and we had such a lovely time. Thank you to the whole team for a great experience and for all your hard work! We will definitely be coming back 😊

It looked like a nice place, elegant, with style and taste. The food was just good with really fresh oysters for the starters. However, the salmon was too grilled, and the pear as a dessert was too sweet. In the morning, we discover that our bill included one bottle of champagne instead of one glass of it that I ordered.

Well worth the visit, we were made very welcome with our little dog. Exelent food and wine. The staff were perfect.

Restaurant looks very lovely from the outside and a nice interior. I made a reservation online for 930 and stopped in to see if we can move it up and she said no. When we got there, there were several vacant tables. We were seated at the back in front of a bar. After 20 minutes, I summoned someone over to see if there was a wine list and finally at 29 minutes after being there she came to take our order for our drinks and our food. The wine was very good. We all had the Menu Prestige which was €49 for entrée, plar and dessert. The oysters and the Burrata were very good. The main veal she said was very good, the fillet was perfectly cooked, but a little bit tough, and the green beans served with or very overcooked and dry, the scallops were good, although they were much smaller than I expected. This was a Sunday night and while we were eating, they started breaking tables down and moving furniture around all around us and then they started cleaning up the bar and there was so much noise. We couldn't even hear each other. Glasses were broken , tables were taken apart and moved, and chairs were moved. And then they started cleaning the bar which was extremely noisy and was directly behind my seat. We probably would've been able to give a better review except for it was so loud with all the noise going on around us or we were trying to enjoy a meal and they were breaking down tables and setting them up, but especially the bar and the loud noise behind us while they were cleaning it up and then they were moving things outside and left the door wide open and we had to ask them to close it because we were so cold. It's a shame because it was a lovely atmosphere in our last night in Reims and we thought we would have a very nice intimate place to have dinner.
Alexa★☆☆☆☆
The worst restaurant I have ever been to! The classic french recipes were cooked horribly, the place was very crowded and loud, service was slow, everything was a bad experience. The scallops were overcooked and chewy and the french fries tasted like freezer (even worse than a random street food place). If you can, be smart and choose not to visit this place.

Hello, my husband and I recently received a seafood platter. We were quite disappointed when, instead of the estimated price of €9.13 per crab claw on your website, we ended up paying €15 per claw. We understand that the price is an estimate, however, in this case, the estimate was over 70% higher. We were unable to come and exchange the claws as you suggested. But it seems to me that when you mention €9 and end up with claws costing over €15 each, you could perhaps have tried to contact us to ask for our opinion and let us know that the estimated price was significantly higher, which we would have understood. Instead, we were left with a nasty surprise, I must say. As I write this review, I haven't yet tasted the products, but I sincerely hope they live up to the price we paid. Have a good evening.

A really nice place to relax. With a dark interior. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Some issues with some fruit flies 😞 which is a slight disappointment as these could be sorted easily. Food was great. A mixture of traditional French with some modern favorites (burgers and pizza) so someone will find something. Wine prices are on the high side considering their cheapest Champagne is lower than an average Pinot Gris!!! That makes no sense. So avoid wine eat well and hit a brassiere for wine and dessert! All in a nice place but please sort the fruit flies!!
Michal Setka★★☆☆☆
I was there with the group. Never do this, the restaurant is the classical tourist trap. The meal is so so, but the service is horrible! We have been asking and asking to get the bread with the snails, and we never got it. We were offered the horrible wine and was waiting for the possibility to change it till the end of our meal. They have really ruined our last evening in Reims.

I was here 2-3 years ago. I told my wife how much I missed this place. But we gave 4 stars to the foods is because is was slightly different taste than my last time. Although the foods wasn't good as last time, the service is still a top notch. We were satisfied and we will always come back.

Good place on a conveniant address to have a seafood platter or traditional French cuisine. Champagne for 9,50 €/glass. Lots of staff, always someone able to attend. Interior a bit too illuminated, not cosy. Comfy seatings.

Very friendly service but some food over cooked. People I dined with asked for medium steak and it arrived well done. My salmon was a little dry but the sauce was good. The rice that came with it however tasted like rice I've had with a meal on a flight. The fruit sorbet was amazing however, absolutely amazing. The chocolate ice cream dessert waa disappointing, do not order if you are a chocoholic as it just tastes like cheap chocolate ice cream with lots of whippes cream on top! All in all, the atmosphere waa good but the food was kinda average.

We had a fantastic experience at Atlantis in France. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a modern and cozy atmosphere that immediately makes you feel welcome. One of the best things about this place is the huge variety of food choices — there is truly something for everyone, and everything looked fresh and well prepared. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our visit. They made us feel very comfortable and were always smiling and helpful. Overall, Atlantis is a great place to enjoy a delicious meal in a stylish setting with outstanding hospitality. We would definitely recommend it and would love to come back again!

Loved this place. Little far away from Reims railway station. We took an Uber to go to this restaurant and we were glad we did. For 20 euro, you have so many choices to eat food. Don't think you can eat 5 percent of the buffet available. They also have a cooking station where you can go give your selected raw sea food and they cook it in front of you the way you like.
Yian Liang★★★★★
A very good all-you-can-eat restaurant near Reims. The choices of different food was enormous. From beef to lobsters and different kinds of tiramisu for desserts. The lichting was a bit too dark for my liking.

We were pleasantly surprised by our experience at Atlantis! For a buffet, the food was unexpectedly delicious and full of flavor. The variety of dishes was impressive—far more options than most buffets we’ve tried. The staff were kind and welcoming, and the ambiance added to the overall great experience. For the price, it’s definitely worth it. We’ll gladly come back!

We arrived here on a Tuesday night with a reservation, but were shown a table that was less than ideal. It was so hot & noisy inside that we decided to relocate to the terrace area. It was better. We shared a baked cheese with honey dish. Then our mains of pepper steak & honey glazed salmon were fine, but not impressive. The salad was very basic. It was an adequate meal.

Easy French dinner with very informal setting and relaxed atmosphere. Food was really good, especially the brisket and the ribs. Fries were excellent. Personally I would prefer actual mayonnaise or more rich sauce to accompany the ketchup. No reservation needed, just queue a bit and voila! Recommended😊
Louisa Moore★★★★☆
We were staying in Reims for a couple of nights while touring the nearby champagne houses and were searching for a local but hospitable place to eat dinner, and Le Tablier looked homey and welcoming so we decided to give it a try. This is exactly the kind of brasserie you hope to stumble into in the middle of Reims. It's right on Place Drouet d'Erlon with a big, lively terrace facing the Subé fountain. That means it gives off great people-watching vibes, although in December it was too chilly to dine outside. The atmosphere of the restaurant hits that sweet spot between cozy, rustic, and modern. It feels relaxed but still polished, like a place that knows what it's doing without trying too hard. The tables are packed too closely together, which was a nice change as to the European norm. We were able to enjoy our dinner and conversation without touching elbows with fellow guests. To be fair, we were dining at an "off" time, so it wasn't very busy. Your mileage may vary if you visit during the popular dinner hours. The staff were genuinely welcoming, especially to foreign visitors, which honestly stands out by French standards. English menus were available, service was friendly and easygoing, and nothing felt rushed. We were greeted warmly by the host, who immediately started speaking to us in English (how do they ALWAYS KNOW?!). We still tried to speak some French to him, which he appreciated. I swear attempting to converse in the local language does wonders when you're a tourist in Europe! The cocktail menu is extensive and creative, and we had some excellent cocktails along with a solid house wine (typical in France) that set me back a whopping 5 Euros LOL. My hubby's cocktail was beautifully presented and garnished with dried fruit, and it was nice and strong. Even the bread basket deserves a shout out for the simple, fresh, and very snackable crusty, sliced baguette. Food-wise, everything was quite tasty. My snail-loving hubby said the escargots (9 Euros for a half dozen) were plump, garlicky, and perfectly done. He never, ever passes up the chance to order this dish whenever we are in France, and he really raved about these. I opted for the Salmon Amandine (24 Euros), which was served with a cider and mustard sauce and butter mashed potatoes. My fish was flavorful and well-cooked, and the portion was quite large. My husband went with a steak and potatoes dish, which he said was rich and satisfying. The potatoes were fried in what tasted like duck fat, and everything was well seasoned. Even by American standards, the portions were huge. These are definitely generous brasserie-style plates, so much so that we skipped on dessert (and the selections sounded incredible). For escargots, salmon, beef, a cocktail, glass of wine, bottled water, and all that atmosphere, we paid about €80, which felt like a great deal for the quality and location. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. I would definitely recommend Le Tablier to visitors in the area. It's a great choice for a casual, fun meal with tasty drinks right in the heart of Reims.

We loved this spot! A classic French bistro experience with wonderful food and service. We highly recommend making a reservation, especially if you’d like to sit outside, as outdoor seating is limited despite the restaurant having plenty of indoor space. Our server was fantastic and made the evening even more enjoyable. The veal stew, oysters, and shrimp were all excellent, but the standout was the house-made butter, easily some of the best we’ve ever had. Everything was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. A memorable meal that we would absolutely recommend.

Food. Oysters and Seafood platter is amazing . fresh and well tasted. Snail is also good. Pork fillet is good Rib eye steak is a bit under average. Salmon is good , Seabass is not really favorable. One staff who handle our table is not friendly at the beginning ,pissed off some French with colleagues. He finally made up his mind to service us at the end. I am sure we are good customers anyhow and able to communicate well.

A fantastic place. The matcha is delicious. They don't have flavored matcha, but the waiters offered to add pureed mango to my matcha, and it was amazing. They should definitely include flavored matcha with the natural fruit puree they have (mango, strawberry, etc.). I'll definitely be back.

got the wrong size of beer, then afterwards two different beers got put together and given to me. while my friend got fresh of the tap, the service was slow and only offered us two separate 0,25cl instead of a 0.5cl what we ordered.

Review My Trip★★★★★
Indoor and outdoor seating options on a bustling main street in Reims. Sitting outside feels like classic French café culture, while inside is much more modern and surprisingly smart in contrast. They were very busy on the Wednesday evening we visited and you could sense some of the staff starting to feel the pressure a little, but nothing that negatively affected the experience in any major way. We chose the €45 three-course menu along with a bottle of local Alsace Pinot Gris, which was absolutely delicious. The standout dishes for us were the egg with parmesan — honestly, just no words — and the rose veal, which was excellent. Would absolutely recommend this place for dinner in Reims.

My husband and I happened to come upon L’apostroohe while in Reims for the weekend. Our server, Olivier was magnificent and the food was amazing. We had the Cordon Bleu and the Veal Hanger Steak; both were delicious!

Absolutely delicious dinner. The service and atmosphere were great. The food was delicious and everything we expected. The steak frites and fish were perfectly prepared and the tart was great for desert. I would highly recommend anyone that is in Reims to eat here. The area is lively which is an added perk. This will be a repeat the next time we are in Reims!

3,9/5 Been wanting to try this new restaurant for quite some time; having tried & enjoyed its previous version (la table amoureuse - Anna S) several years ago. Unfortunately the experience was not the same. The decor is a bit antique and traditional, with very stark colors (violet especially!). Seating is comfortable enough, and kudos to our waiter (Armando) with his unique charm and energy. Tried the foie gras with strawberry: 2 nice pieces served with a brioche bread, but lacked in seasoning (no salt flakes), the brioche was too dry, and the mix with strawberry was somewhat nice but lacked in substance. We also tried the Carpaccio of sea bass with green tea - a strong disappointment, much red fruits but the overall flavor was very lacking. The Gilt-head bream & roasted eggplants didn't improve our impression: the filets were not fresh, the taste was that of store-bought fish, the vegetable mixture (eggplants, cucumbers, spring onions, confit tomatoes, peaches, and verbena) had a nice flavor to it, fresh with well cooked vegetables. The best dish that we DID enjoy was the Stuffed zucchini parmesan cream: delicious creamy flavorful sauce, and nicely cooked vegetables. We also opted for a Mailly Champagne bottle, only to be told that it wasn't available anymore (although on the menu). However, the Leclerc-Briant was an exquisite choice: smooth, balanced, and fragrant. A bit torn for a first experience, with some highs but major lows… especially the hefty prices! Still some way to go to get back to the previous level in my mind!

Excellent food and service! Everything was prepared so delicately and deliciously - the seasoning was on point, fresh ingredients, well-plated in appropriate portions. Highly recommended!

I have to admit, after high expectations, this was one of my most disappointing dining experience in recent years. Made reservations in advance for New Year’s Eve, we arrived on time were quickly served an amuse bouche and first round of champagne, but after that, things turned quickly… or not so quickly. We soon found ourselves waiting for our entrees for 1h 10 min after our arrival. While this is most definitely a problem, this was exacerbated by the fact that we were never served water, and never had an opportunity to order more wine because there were only two servers on a fully reserved night. By this point we were ready to leave and expressed this to the servers. An initial apology was made and we were asked to stay… unfortunately we fell for it, until the next plate arrived. The foie gras was foie gras, nothing revelatory, but the next dish (scallops) was lacking. The scallops weren’t anything exceptional, yet they were swimming in a purée that lacked flavor and substance. The final heartbreaker of the evening was the dessert - a poached pear with cream, biscuit rose, and what tasted like sugared ice - just fell flat. There was absolutely not any taste nor flavor for any of the items in this dish. To add to all of this, the restaurant was freezing, especially the bathroom, and the decor has fallen behind times. Overall, for over €220, nothing was up to the level of expectation for quality, service, nor atmosphere. We requested an immediate refund in person but were refused.

A little gem with fantastic service. The restaurant is charming, cozy, and full of character. The food was carefully prepared, creative, and absolutely delicious. Warmly recommended to anyone looking for an intimate dining experience with superb service and tasty flavors.

Tips for Choosing the Best Seafood Restaurant in Reims

Navigating a city’s seafood scene can be overwhelming, especially when every menu promises freshness and every review mentions “the best oysters.” To help you make the most of your dining experience, consider these practical tips gathered from local chefs, regular patrons, and years of observing Reims’ culinary evolution. A little preparation goes a long way toward ensuring your meal is memorable for all the right reasons.

Check the daily specials before committing. The best seafood restaurants in Reims often list their arrivals on a chalkboard or a separate sheet. If you see a specific fish named with its port of origin—like “sole from Dieppe” or “langoustines from Guilvinec”—that is a strong indicator of a kitchen that cares about provenance. Avoid menus that only offer generic “fish of the day” without further detail.

Book ahead, especially for dinner and weekends. Reims is a compact city with a high density of excellent restaurants, but the top seafood tables fill quickly. Locals tend to book several days in advance for Thursday through Saturday dinners. If you are visiting during harvest season or major champagne events, secure your table at least a week ahead.

Do not overlook the plateau de fruits de mer. Even if you are not a fan of cooked fish, a seafood platter is the ultimate test of a restaurant’s sourcing and storage. Look for glistening oysters with their liquor intact, properly chilled crab, and whelks that taste of the sea rather than the fridge. Share it as a starter or make it the main event with a side of fries and a glass of blanc de blancs.

Ask about wine and champagne pairings by the glass. A great seafood restaurant in Reims will have a sommelier or server who can recommend pairings beyond the obvious. Muscadet, Chablis, and Sancerre are classic, but many local champagnes—especially extra brut or blanc de blancs styles—cut through richness beautifully. Do not hesitate to ask for a taste before committing to a full bottle.

Respect the lunch service for better value. Many of Reims’ best seafood restaurants offer lunch formulas that are significantly more affordable than their evening menus. You will often find two or three courses with a glass of wine for under €40, giving you access to kitchens that would otherwise stretch a dinner budget. Lunch also tends to be quieter and more relaxed.

As you plan your culinary journey through Reims, remember that the best seafood experiences are as much about atmosphere and hospitality as they are about the plate. A warm welcome, a knowledgeable server, and a well-chosen wine list elevate even the simplest grilled fish into something worth traveling for. The restaurants listed here have earned their reputations through years of consistent dedication, not fleeting trends.

Ultimately, the joy of dining in Reims lies in its contrasts—ancient cellars beneath your feet, modern plates before you, and the knowledge that the sea is never as far away as it seems. Take your time, ask questions, and let the city’s chefs show you why seafood in champagne country is a pairing that makes perfect sense. Bon appétit.
