Finding a reliable pharmacy in Menton is about more than just filling a prescription. Whether you are a year-round resident on the French Riviera or a visitor enjoying the Mediterranean sun, access to trusted healthcare advice and specific medicinal products is essential. The local pharmacie in France is a cornerstone of the community, offering far more than just medication—they provide first-aid guidance, health screenings, and personalized consultations.
Navigating the healthcare system in a foreign country, or even a new neighborhood, can feel daunting. You might be looking for a pharmacy that stocks specific baby formulas, offers late-night emergency services, or simply has a pharmacist who takes the time to explain your treatment in English or Italian. The unique cross-border nature of Menton means many pharmacies are well-versed in serving an international clientele, but levels of service and specialization can vary.
This guide aims to simplify that search. We have evaluated the local landscape to highlight establishments known for their professionalism, product range, and customer care. From the bustling center near the pedestrian streets to the quieter residential areas, the right pharmacy ensures you get back to enjoying the beauty of the Côte d’Azur as quickly as possible.
In the sections below, we focus on practical value. We look at accessibility, opening hours, and the specific services that set these pharmacies apart. Whether you need orthopaedic supplies, natural remedies, or a simple painkiller, these recommendations are designed to connect you with the best care Menton has to offer.
Here is our curated list of the top pharmacies in the area, selected for their service quality and reliability:

My wife had a very bad reaction to a mosquito bite.
We were given very able, professional and friendly help by a young man who, luckily for us had very good English, our French is not good, and in the end we were both very relieved.
It's a busy place but if you're patient you'll be treated with kindness and efficiency.

I am a visitor to Menton. I come every year from New Zealand. Last year succumbed to an injury which resulted in the toenail being torn off my big toe. I was pat he'd up in conforama where accident happened, but by the time I reached my apartment on avenue Verdon it had come off and was bleeding dramatically and profusely. Not having any idea what do I entered pharmacy la fayette to buy some dressings. The woman at the counter took one look at my foot then took me to a tiny cupboard and gave me a stool to sit on. She the proceeded to clean and dress my wounded toe. I was astonished by her kindness and her skill. I offered to pay for this service but she insisted 'non, c'est normal.' Well it wasn't normal where I come from. I try to repay them by never going to any other pharmacy in Menton and directing anyone else who asks where to go. 'Go to pharmacy la fayette' I say, 'they are good people there.

A HUGE thank you to Héla for the positive difference she made to my health. Thanks to her wisdom and deep knowledge she literally saved me from a very serious illness. I have never trusted a pharmacist the way I trust her and I am deeply saddened to hear she will soon be leaving. What a big loss for the Menton community.
Infinitely grateful to you Héla.

They speak in Italian and English also. I had a prescribed cream sent to Italy using my prescription and the entire process was fast, friendly, and organized. Very happy.

Always a warm welcome, all the staff are smiling and pleasant. They don't push you to buy things like many pharmacies, but they give excellent advice, whether at the counter or over the phone. I highly recommend them!

Order never refunded despite cancellation.
I placed an online order on March 7, 2026, which was canceled due to one of the products being out of stock… but the refund was never issued.
Despite several emails/messages and calls, there has been no concrete response, just silence.
This is quite worrying for an online pharmacy, where trust is supposed to be essential.
I now find myself having to take steps to get my money back.
I strongly advise against using them.

We travel frequently, and this is the first time a pharmacy has asked us to bring our health insurance card in person to register; otherwise, they won't place an order over the phone. Of course, I offered to send the prescriptions by email along with our health insurance card certificates showing active coverage. In short, if you're traveling, this pharmacy is neither accommodating nor helpful. Therefore, I do not recommend this healthcare professional, and it's very rare for me to post negative reviews! One of their colleagues, Careï Pharmacy, was happy to order them for us.
Nicolas Blackangels★☆☆☆☆
They refused to dispense the Doliprane in the quantity I prescribed. However, additional boxes became available if I paid for them outright, without reimbursement. When the prescription is blocked, but the bank card unlocks everything, it leaves a deplorable impression.

Went there to get an after sun relief. The lady was very friendly and helpful. I had just 1 request for the product - not to be sticky. And yes, the option she suggested was perfect. Thank you. I came back to get a shampoo on her recommendation. Recommend the place.

Today at 5:05 PM, I went to the Grande Pharmacie Mentonnaise, hoping for at least some decent service. Upon arrival, the pharmacist, engrossed in a personal conversation with a customer, completely ignored me: not a glance, not a greeting, despite the pharmacy's small size where a customer's arrival should be an obvious sign. I waited, but their conversation—centered on preparations for tonight's Fête de la Musique—seemed far more captivating to her than my presence. No sign of interest, not a word, just icy contempt!
The height of indecency came when she brushed past me without so much as a murmur of apology to continue her discussion outside, leaving me alone in the pharmacy like an unwelcome intruder. For several minutes, I waited in vain while she laughed and chatted on the doorstep, completely indifferent. This haughty and dismissive behavior is an insult to the profession. With so many competent pharmacies downtown, one has the right to expect a minimum of respect. This contemptuous and completely unprofessional attitude shouldn't even have a place in a business. This person would be better off changing careers before further damaging the reputation of this establishment. A revolting experience!

Before it was good with a dynamic, professional and human team. Unfortunately the current manager is deplorable. Never friendly, always ready to give lessons but certainly not at the disposal of the customers. She also knows how to hang up on you under the pretext that she is working....she is the only one!!!!!not worth 1 star

went to this pharmacy today and the pharmacist was really nice and very helpful. The staff are super friendly and speak many different languages — even Russian speakers can easily get help and their medicine there. The service was excellent, the prices were fair, and I really felt like they took the time to listen and take the best possible care of their customers. Highly recommended.

The owner is an unfriendly chap. He insisted on selling a different(12.50€) mosquito bite aftercare roll on instead of the one I found at the till for 9€. I bought the one he insisted on, and realised that it's expiry date was 07/2025 in the evening after it made NO difference on my bites. Went back the next day, he first said it's valid until the 31st of July (it's 19Jul!!) then tried to give me the cheaper one without giving back the difference. After my insistent request, he tossed the money back on the till for me to pick up! Rude! At least I managed to get my money back, hence the 2 stars.

I needed to buy some medication and stopped at this pharmacy because they had a drop-off zone (and it was just before my Best Drive appointment). It was very quiet, and the gentleman was very kind and friendly. I'll definitely go back.

Seeing the good reviews, I trusted myself to order expensive medications from Italy, which I should have picked up in person because they had to be kept between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius. I placed the order, they sent me a quote, and I called to make sure the medications would arrive on the pickup date, confirming this by email. As requested, I promptly paid a 50% deposit and sent the receipt. Everything was perfect and in Italian. On May 16th, the pickup date, I arrived after hours of traveling and, unfortunately, there was a mix-up: one medication was missing, and the clerk was dismissive. I left and, in the following hours, wrote a negative review. However, I was later contacted by the pharmacy manager: despite apologizing repeatedly for the mistake, he offered his full support to resolve the issue (even if it meant personally bringing the medication to my home region). In the end, we reached an excellent compromise: a refund for the inconvenience, since I had already made the purchase in Italy. I'm giving them 4 stars because there was a mistake, but they deserve 5+ for how they handled the situation. I will confidently purchase medications from them again in France, since they also ship directly to Italy.

As soon as it was obvious I was American, the first associate said mm and walked away. Another woman asked if she could help (French speaking). I showed a series of photos of French products. No, didn't have them, though she barely looked at the pictures. Proceeded to laugh with the other woman, could have been unrelated. She asked again and I had found a few more French products/pictures - BASIC for any pharmacy! Nope, nothing that could help. I did not believe her. Not an unusual request for a pharmacy. VERY disappointed in this place. Went to another pharmacy and easily found the products.
If you are a tourist in need, be very wary of wasting your time here.

Appalling! Incompetent!
What a horrible reception!!!!
No response to "hello," no smiles. It's as if they're carrying an enormous burden. Despite everything, I take the initiative to ask for information about a medication, and this is the tone of the reply... And it's not the first time... Then you can tell they don't like the look of me...
AVOID this pharmacy!!!! In fact, I'll be sending my patients to the large central pharmacy in Menton, opposite the market/social services center, where they are just SUPER KIND/PLEASANT/SMILING! And they give excellent advice!!
I'm giving it one star so the post is visible; otherwise, it doesn't even deserve it!!

Years ago, I purchased a medication for neurogenic bladder without any problems. I called the pharmacy on July 20th and was told to call the next day to speak with the shipping person. I called back and was told to send everything via WhatsApp, so I did, waiting for a response that never came. When August came, I called back and was told again to call back to speak with the shipping person the following day. I did, and then was told to call today to speak with the owner. This morning, almost a month later, after asking me what type of medication and my name, they told me they no longer offer shipping services. This is a lack of professionalism, integrity, and fairness toward people with health problems; otherwise, we wouldn't go to a pharmacy. The lady I spoke to several times mocked me, making me wait for a medication that I should have started two weeks ago. My problems are getting worse, and the blame lies solely with the incompetence of the people working at this pharmacy. I don't recommend the pharmacy, especially to those buying from Italy, and I strongly recommend hiring competent staff. Don't sell hamburgers and fries at McDonald's; you're a pharmacy, you're dealing with people's health.
Julien Scavetta★☆☆☆☆
Be very careful with the delivery driver from this pharmacy! Aggressive, threatening, rude, and to top it all off for a pharmacy delivery driver, his van smelled worse than all of Jamaica combined… What a fine display of professionalism from this pharmacy…
And the worst part is that this driver keeps coming to get me inside the pharmacy without the staff saying a word… They practically look away! Seriously! What's happening to this place?! A registered letter will be sent to the management of this pharmacy.
Brigitte SOUQUET★★★★★

No prices displayed, that's unacceptable. Besides, it's illegal; I don't think the pharmacists' association would be pleased to see that.
So prices are set arbitrarily. Run away, they have nothing in stock anyway.

I'm continuing with the previous comments. You have a prescription less than a year old, for a six-month supply. You took a month's worth of medication from the prescription, you're 1000 kilometers from home, you'll run out in two days, you desperately need it, and they're explaining complicated paperwork to you.
You call your usual pharmacy, which tries to explain that they can do it: refusal.
I'm advised to go somewhere else, that they're "special." And sure enough, the pharmacy a few hundred meters away gets you a refill without any problem! Run away, unless you want to spend 15 minutes dealing with this hassle.
Sarah★☆☆☆☆
Help! The service is terrible!
I went to this pharmacy for advice on a skin problem, maybe to buy a product, nothing serious.
I was sent to the doctor across the street who has an empty waiting room in the middle of summer and charges €30 without even examining me... absurd.
In short, a pharmacist who caters to the doctor's patients but doesn't do her job of advising because she "doesn't know"... And then we wonder why the national health insurance system has a budget shortfall...
Gil★☆☆☆☆
Avoid this pharmacy at all costs. I wanted a box of plasters and waited over 20 minutes. There was only one person to serve me. Not a glance, not a word. I put the item back and found the same item cheaper 150 meters away. Other customers after me also put their items back and left.

I just bought some medication at the pharmacy where I have an account. Normally, everything goes smoothly, but then I asked if there was a year-end gift, and the pharmacist (a long-time employee) was very rude and told me it wasn't appropriate to ask for a gift, even though I get one every year. So I didn't get one. Of course, there was no name on her lab coat, and certainly no smile. I think I'll get my medication somewhere else.

Well, I find them rather nice. I was worried about a completely unnecessary tetanus vaccine I had a few years ago in a psychiatric ward. I was worried, it was bothering me. Especially after learning about the somewhat ambiguous ethics of these gentlemen and ladies of the sacred medical establishment, who sometimes foist products on us that are more harmful than anything else, with a health scandal erupting every ten years, I'm wary of these people protected by every law under the sun. And whom we can't criticize. So, I spoke to a lady at the pharmacy who kindly reassured me, telling me not to worry, that a vaccine is necessary every 10-15 years... our grandparents and great-grandparents lived with three vaccines, administered at birth, and they lived to be 100. Today, life expectancy is decreasing! (Stress, pollution, mental illness, drug scams, etc.) Anyway, let's not dwell on it. I shouldn't have accepted this laboratory scam; I was weak—I caved. In any case, the service is good, the cashiers are decent. I've been to many pharmacies; I've experienced better, and I've experienced much worse, so I'd give it a magnificent 3 out of 5 stars. Thank you. I think they want to eat your supplements. Be careful. ⚠️ greedy…

The French pharmacy system is highly regulated, ensuring a high standard of care, but knowing how to navigate it efficiently can save you time and stress. Whether you are dealing with a sudden illness or managing a chronic condition, a little local knowledge goes a long way in ensuring you receive the right products and advice without delay.
Check the "Pharmacie de Garde" Schedule: Unlike some countries with 24-hour drugstores, French pharmacies rotate emergency night and Sunday shifts. If you need medication outside of standard hours, do not wander around looking for an open door. Check the schedule posted on the window of any closed pharmacy or visit the local government website to find the designated "pharmacie de garde" for that specific evening or holiday.
Bring Your Prescription or Original Packaging: If you are visiting from abroad, it is highly recommended to bring your original prescription, even if it is in English. For over-the-counter requests, having the original box or a clear photo of the active ingredient (the "DCI" or generic name) is incredibly helpful. French pharmacists are highly trained but may not recognize brand names from other continents.
Understand the "Tierce Payant" System: If you have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or French Carte Vitale, you can often use the "tierce payant" system. This means you do not have to pay upfront for prescribed medication; the pharmacy is reimbursed directly by the health insurance. Always present your card at the counter to see if this applies to your specific prescription.
Ask for Generic Medications: French law actively encourages the use of generic drugs ("médicaments génériques"). If your doctor has not explicitly written "non substituable" (not substitutable) on the prescription, the pharmacist is legally required to offer you the generic version. This is a safe and effective way to significantly reduce your out-of-pocket costs.
Leverage the Pharmacist’s Expertise for Minor Ailments: In France, pharmacists are the first line of defense for minor issues like colds, sunburn, insect bites, or mild allergies. Don’t hesitate to describe your symptoms and ask for advice. They can dispense medication that would require a doctor’s visit in other countries, saving you a trip to a crowded waiting room.
Whether you are stocking up on French skincare or seeking urgent relief, the pharmacies in Menton offer a high standard of care that blends scientific rigor with genuine hospitality. By knowing where to go and how the local system works, you can ensure that your health needs are met efficiently. With the right pharmacist on your side, you can spend less time worrying about logistics and more time enjoying the azure waters and lemon-scented breezes of this beautiful coastal town.
