12 Best Bakeries Near Setas de Sevilla

Standing beneath the undulating wooden curves of Setas de Sevilla, the Metropol Parasol, is one of the most surreal urban experiences in Spain. While the structure itself offers panoramic views and a fascinating archaeological museum below, the surrounding streets hold a different kind of treasure. Tucked between the historic plazas and narrow alleys of the city center are some of Seville’s most beloved bakeries, waiting to fuel your exploration.

The neighborhood surrounding the Setas is a vibrant mix of traditional commerce and modern innovation. Here, time-honored recipes passed down through generations coexist with contemporary pastry chefs pushing the boundaries of flavor. Whether you are looking for a quick breakfast before sightseeing or a sweet respite from the Andalusian sun, the area offers a diverse array of options.

Seville’s bakery culture is deeply rooted in the traditions of convents and family-run obradores. From the flaky, sugar-dusted layers of a perfect mille-feuille to the savory richness of a freshly baked empanada, the local pastries reflect the city’s rich history. Many of these establishments open early, serving strong coffee alongside the first batch of warm bread, making them an essential part of the local morning ritual.

Choosing the right spot can be overwhelming with so many aromatic storefronts competing for your attention. Some specialize in the classic staples of a Sevillano breakfast, while others are famous for their innovative cakes and artisan sourdough. This guide focuses on the absolute best options within a short walking distance of the iconic mushroom structure, ensuring you don’t waste a single step.

We have curated a list that balances historic institutions with modern hidden gems. Each entry has been selected based on the quality of ingredients, the mastery of technique, and the authenticity of the experience. You will find spots that are perfect for a grab-and-go breakfast, as well as elegant tearooms where you can sit and watch the world go by.

To get the most out of your culinary tour, it is helpful to understand local timings. Sevillanos typically enjoy a light breakfast of toast or a pastry mid-morning, and bakeries often see a rush around the 11 a.m. coffee break. Visiting slightly earlier or later can offer a more relaxed experience, allowing you to chat with the bakers and secure the freshest items from the display case.

Below, we have compiled a detailed guide to the finest flour, sugar, and butter the area has to offer. Whether you are a fan of the traditional Sevillano torta de aceite or are hunting for a world-class croissant, there is a bakery here with your name on it.

Panypiu is a very pleasant spot for breakfast or a light meal. The coffee is excellent, and both the croissant and the sandwich are fresh and tasty, making for a satisfying combination. Overall, it’s a simple but high-quality place that works well for a relaxed start to the day in Seville.
Hebe Harris★★★★★
Bakery with delicious and varied food options. We tried the focaccia, pistachio croissant, milk bun and apricot pastry and all were perfect, as was the coffee

Found this place thanks to Google reviews. What a wonderful cafe bakery. First visit to Seville and this cafe and the staff are friendly and helpful. Supportive to you learning Spanish but also speak in English if you get stuck. We weren’t exactly sure of how to get served at first but approached the counter to wait. A couple of times we were missed but I honestly think that was down to us speaking to each other - so we weren’t interrupted. As soon as we stood with purpose and engaged, made eye contact with staff, we were served. The food we ordered was wonderful, I had the spinach quiche and OH MY WORD! Out of this world, I’m pretty convinced there was goats cheese in it. Whatever cheese it was it was lush and the texture of the warmed quiche with the salad and balsamic was spot on. Cappuccino for me. Appletiser and bagel with ham cheese and rocket for my partner. He loved it too. Highly recommended. The interior and atmosphere is also very calming and welcoming. One thing I also love is the thought to add hooks under the table for your belongings. Wish more places in the UK thought to do this. Facilities include - fully accessible toilet, baby changing space in there and I spotted a highchair too. Everyone is welcome.

Pretty decent experience overall. Good breakfast options, a lot of nice pastry. English breakfast good, but on a small side of scale. Cards are accepted. In the morning can be pretty hectic - queue is rather unorganized and seating places are pretty scarce.

Panypiu - Bread and much more The best bakery in Seville! I’ve been trying many croissants almost 4 weeks in Seville. Among nice bakeries in the city, I found this place as my number one because it has more than just pan 🙂 My favorites were the croissant and pain au chocolat. They are crispy outside, moist inside from enough butter. For me, the chocolate in pain au chocolat was also rich and just right. And the price is reasonable, the size is very generous. The staffs are so patient and warm- hearted even when it’s too busy which is always. They are focused on what they should serve. I think the team works very efficiently. I admire their work. I already became a repeat customer here. My breakfast time here was the happiest time during my stay in Seville 🙂 I hope all best to everyone who works here. 👍

Great spot to stop for a rest and something a bit different to eat if you fancy a tiny break from tapas! Very friendly service and lovely, freshly made food and great coffee! Close to the 'mushrooms' and easy to find, but it still manages to be a little oasis of calm.

Stopped here to buy some bread and cheese. The quality was excellent and the staff very friendly. Later in the day I realised that I had lost my wallet. I traced my movements back to the shop and miraculously they had kept it for me( I had left it on the counter) Great food, great people and great honesty, what more could you ask for

If you are looking for flaky croissant, this is not the place. It’s more like bread and it was dry. Staff was not friendly, unwelcoming, and touching his facial hair. There was also construction inside, it started as I was eating. You will smell it! I wouldn’t recommend this place. Hope this will improve…

I have been this bakery yesterday and today, and I highly recommend it. The croissants are delicious, both original one and pistachio one. And the staff here are so nice, I especially wanna thank for Lola for her heartwarming service. Yesterday I didn’t pay successfully in the first time, but she told me don’t worry and kindly treat me ^^ I feel so moved by staff here.

I had a fantastic experience here! The cakes were absolutely delicious and the coffee was perfect. What impressed me the most was the portion sizes—they are very generous and offer excellent value for the price. The atmosphere is wonderful, making it a great place to relax, and the service was also very good. Everything we tried was high quality and satisfying. I highly recommend visiting if you’re looking for great treats and a lovely environment.
Canberk Özbaykuş★★★★★
We absolutely loved our breakfast here! The mollete toast was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside — simple yet full of flavor. The croissants were outstanding, rich with the aroma of real butter and baked to perfection. But the real star was the pistachio croissant — flaky, creamy, and truly unforgettable. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, and you can tell great care goes into every detail. A must-visit spot in Seville for anyone who loves good pastry and bread! 🥐✨

The staff were very rude. They looked tired of the tourists. But they shouldn't forget that they make their money from tourists. They need to be more friendly and respectful. The tables outside were very dirty. Why did you paint the inside of the pistachio croissant green?? We had ordered takeaway, but when the child got tired, we thought it wouldn't be a problem to sit at the dirty tables outside for a short while. A rude woman warned us in a rude tone, "You ordered takeaway, you can't sit here." When I said we could pay if there was a fee, she continued muttering, turned around, and walked away.

Best pastries we tried in Seville. Had the raspberry mascarpone croissant, pan Suisse, chocolate covered hazelnut croissant and pistachio caracol. Beautiful all of them. Will happily return. And the shopkeeper was very affable and helpful.
Liam Corrigan★★★★★
In our top 5 globally. Try the local custard it's delicious with cinnamon and star anise but perfectly balanced so nothing overpowers. We came 2 days in a row and none of the cakes disappointed. Would heartily recommend.
Abdul Aziz Al-Amin★★★★★
Pastries were quite delicious, had the pistachio and raspberry croissants. Service was too notch very helpful and friendly people there. Highly recommended.
Ali Mohammadi★★★★★
Dulcería Manu Jara was a lovely find and definitely worth the stop. I ordered the pain au chocolat and the pain suisse. The pain au chocolat was my favourite, buttery, flaky, and rich without being overly sweet. The owner was very kind and attentive, which made the visit feel even more personal. I picked up my pastries to go and later paired them with a double cortado from another spot nearby. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and you can really tell they use quality ingredients. The bakery itself is beautifully decorated, with a high-end display of pastries that shows off their craftsmanship. Just note there is no seating, so it’s more of a takeaway place. This spot is well known in Seville and you can tell it’s earned its reputation. Others rave about their desserts and the overall experience and I have to agree. If you’re in the Triana neighborhood and want something sweet and authentic, this is a must visit.
Liz Bissonnette★★★★★
Wonderful service and the tastiest pastries. I enjoyed the Pan de Pistachio among others.

Ordered several items seen in the pictures. Everything was absolutely delicious! The prices were a bit steep, but the presentation and quality met my expectations. I will say that I normally do not like cheesecake, and I ended up eating most of the cheesecake before my kids could get to it. I was extremely impressed 👏 I definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area!

A lovely bakery with delicious cookies and pleasant staff. The chai latte and oreo cookie was my favourite, a well deserved treat after a long day of walking around Seville!
Benito Camesta★★★★★
Walked by the display and was drawn in by how good all the pastries looked. We ended up ordering different flavors of the roscón our favorite was the chocolate. Would go back and try the other pastries based on how good these were. There is some bar seating inside and looks like additional seating upstairs but we did not go.

I have been going there daily over the past month for my morning coffees. First, the price is cheaper than other coffee shops around Las Setas, the service is friendly, and they always have the morning newspaper for you to read - a perk in 2025. They also have fresh baked goods, smoothies and great breakfasts.
Michael Barton★★★★☆
Don Divino serves up satisfying pastries at a good price. Indoor and outdoor seating is available if you have a preference. Avoid the smoothies because they're thinner than water. Coffee drinks and parties are definitely their strongest suits.

Found this cafe near Setas De Sevilla. Went in for a smoothies and found there is a unique pastry which we never seen before. We ordered pistachios flavour which was one of recommended by the cashier. He also recommend chocolate milk, white chocolate too. The smoothie a bit diluted and not as flavour as it suppose to be. Overall is a good place to hangout for a drink in a hot weather. Food: 3 stars Environment: 3 stars Value for money: 3 stars Worth to try: 3 stars

Coffee and orange juice were good. But the portion was very small. We bought it as a breakfast menu and it cost 6 euros. It was impossible for one person to be full with a sandwich that size.

The owner was kind and friendly. With some body languages I was able to ask for the cakes with least sugar and gluten-free. I liked the chocolate one. The yellow one was too sweet.

Essential Tips for Enjoying Bakeries Near Setas de Sevilla

To fully appreciate the local baking scene, a little insider knowledge goes a long way. The rhythm of life in Seville is unique, and aligning your bakery visits with local customs will significantly enhance the quality of your experience. Here are some practical tips to help you navigate the pastry cases and counters like a local.

Go Early for the Best Bread
Most bakeries bake their bread and pastries in the early hours of the morning. Arriving between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. ensures you get the loaves that are still slightly warm from the oven and the crispest pastries. By late afternoon, many of the most popular artisanal items may be sold out.

Know the Local Breakfast Staples
While croissants are widely available, try the local favorites to eat like a true Sevillano. Look for tosta de aceite (a crispy, sweet flatbread), mollete (a soft roll often served with olive oil and tomato), or piononos. These traditional items are what these bakeries do best and offer a true taste of Andalusian heritage.

Cash is Still King
Although many modern bakeries have adapted to card payments, some of the older, family-run establishments still prefer cash for small transactions. It is wise to keep a few euro coins in your pocket, especially if you are only purchasing a single pastry or a small loaf of bread, to speed up the process at the counter.

Consider the "Take Away" Culture
While many spots have small seating areas, Sevillanos often prefer to take their pastries to go and enjoy them on a sunny plaza bench. Since you are right next to the Setas, consider grabbing your selection and walking up to the elevated walkway or finding a shaded spot nearby to enjoy your treats with a view.

Ask for the Seasonal Specialties
Seville’s bakeries rotate their menus based on the liturgical calendar and the seasons. Depending on when you visit, you might find torrijas (Spanish French toast) during Easter, pestiños during Christmas, or refreshing fruit tarts in the summer. Always ask what is fresh or special that day, as it is often the best thing in the shop.

The area around Setas de Sevilla is more than just a tourist thoroughfare; it is a living, breathing neighborhood where the smell of baking bread fills the morning air. Taking the time to stop in one of these bakeries connects you to the daily life of the city in a way that museums and monuments cannot. It is a sensory experience that grounds you in the flavors of Andalusia.

As you plan your visit to the Metropol Parasol, leave a little extra room in your itinerary—and your stomach—for a detour into these local institutions. Whether you are starting your day with a warm pastry or taking a box of sweets back to your hotel, the bakeries surrounding the Setas offer some of the most authentic and delicious moments you will find in the heart of Seville.
