Seville’s iconic Setas de Sevilla, officially known as the Metropol Parasol, is more than just a striking architectural landmark. It anchors the northern edge of the historic center, acting as a gateway between the commercial shopping streets and the atmospheric alleys of the Alfalfa and Macarena districts. For travelers and locals alike, the area surrounding this wooden wonder is one of the city’s most dynamic zones, blending traditional Sevillian life with a growing modern café culture.
Finding a quality coffee spot near such a major tourist attraction can often feel like navigating a minefield of overpriced menus and underwhelming brews. However, the streets radiating out from the Setas hide a surprising variety of authentic, high-quality establishments. From specialty roasters focusing on single-origin beans to historic cafés that have been serving locals for decades, the area offers a cup for every kind of coffee enthusiast.
The perfect coffee stop here isn’t just about the caffeine; it is about the atmosphere and the authentic Andalusian rhythm. You might find yourself sipping a meticulously crafted flat white in a minimalist Scandinavian-style space one minute, then walking five minutes to enjoy a traditional café con leche on a sun-drenched plaza the next. The diversity of the neighborhood is its greatest strength.
Understanding this local landscape requires knowing where to step off the main tourist trail. While the immediate perimeter of the Setas is busy, the true gems are often tucked away on quiet side streets where the pace slows down. These are the places where the baristas remember your face, the pastries are baked on-site, and the quality of the bean is treated with respect.
This guide focuses on practical value and genuine quality. We have evaluated the options based on bean sourcing, barista skill, atmosphere, and proximity to the monument. Whether you need a quick espresso hit before sightseeing or a comfortable corner to work remotely, the area surrounding the Setas has you covered.
We understand that coffee preferences are deeply personal, ranging from the intense, dark roast favored by traditionalists to the bright, acidic profiles loved by third-wave connoisseurs. Therefore, this list intentionally includes a mix of styles, ensuring that you can find the exact experience you are looking for without wandering too far from the shadow of the wooden parasols.
Here is our curated selection of the best places to grab a coffee near the Setas de Sevilla.

Such a good cafe, highly recommended. Ended up going here 4-6 times over 3 days because their coffee is SO GOOD! Lovely area to catch up, have a drink and meet new people as well. The staff was kind enough to share some exotic funky beans they had and it was experimental and so unique ♥️

One of the best specialty coffee shops I’ve ever visited.
The quality of the beans is exceptional, and you can truly tell how much knowledge and care the team puts into every cup. The baristas are incredibly skilled, and even a simple espresso is made with such precision and attention to detail that you can really taste the quality of the coffee.
What I especially love about MUY COFFEE is their deep understanding and appreciation of specialty coffee. Every visit feels like a chance to experience coffee at its best.
I honestly found myself looking forward to waking up every morning because I knew I was going to start my day here. MUY COFFEE became one of the highlights of my time in Seville, and I’m so grateful I found this place. Highly recommended for anyone who truly loves great coffee. 한국인 분들 그냥 묻고 따지지 말고 이쪽으로 오세요 세비야를 통틀어서 스페인 전체에서 여기가 제일 맛있는 거 같애요. 산미있는 에스프레소 ..최고

My favorite coffee shop in the area. It has a relaxed, laid-back vibe, a friendly owner and team, and genuinely delicious coffee.
The space is small, but it’s been used really well, with a casual, thoughtful setup. They also play great music, which adds to the atmosphere.
Prices are very reasonable, and they even sell their own coffee beans.

Went twice during my quick stay. Had a batch brew that was dialed in—delicate with floral notes and a some fruity vibes! Came back for a cappuccino and it was delicious. They take their coffee seriously and combined with the great vibes and friendly service I would definitely recommend this. It is an authentic specialty coffee shop that anyone into coffee would appreciate.

Awesome coffeeshop! Had a great V60, and a Flat white. The owners were super nice, and very friendly! Made steamed milk for our daughter who really liked it as well. Would very much recommend if you're into speciality coffee.

I've had coffee from Syra in Girona and Barcelona and this one in Sevilla did not disappoint. It was the same great service and great tasting coffee. My go to place while here.
Ashley Cutshall★★★★★
We had the best experience here. The coffee was super quality and the conversation with the barista even better! Gracias!!
Damian Guevara★★★★★
We were lucky to found by coincidence Syra coffee in our stay in Sevilla.
My girlfriend and I are very passionate about speciality coffee and to find Luis, behind the counter, was a nice surprise. We had a profound conversation where we could feel how passionate he is about speciality coffee.
Originally we were there looking for a coffee, we tried the batch and a triple chocolate cookie - it was so tasty! After the nice chat with him we also took home one of the nice coffees from Ethiopia which Luis recommended.
Atmosphere, even if limited seating, breathes of peace & tranquility!
PS: If you prefer more type of pumpkin spice latte style… this place also has it, and the description & image looks so inviting!
Truly recommended!!

Cool place with a cool barista. The coffee is nice and the quality of the food/dessert is very good as well. We had a cookie, carrot cake and a croissant. All good. The place has barely a space for 4 people to stand/sit and finish their coffee.
Umut TÜREMEN★☆☆☆☆
I am not sure who gave those five stars. I drank one of the worst coffees in my life and paid 4 Euros. The store has only two chairs that doesn’t allow you to lean your back and when there are more than five people inside, it feels like a crowded bus.

Absolutely love this spot! The smoothies are delicious and super refreshing, the sandwiches are made perfectly, and the açai bowls are fresh, flavorful, and beautifully put together. Everything on the menu feels thoughtfully crafted and consistently tasty.
The atmosphere is just as good as the food. It is decorated with cute indoor boho vibes with wooden plates, glass straws, and little aesthetic touches that make every dish feel special. They really care about the details.
On top of it all, the staff is friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Definitely a go-to place if you’re looking for great food and a cozy, feel-good vibe.

Jester is a must visit - we went to this specific location but I'm sure they're all of similar great quality.
If you wish to dine in, check upstairs first for a seat before ordering as you want to avoid ordering and then realising there are none!
The acai bowl is absolutely spot on - my favourite one in seville. The granola was one of the nicest I've ever had!
Coffee was great too!

This coffee shop was on my radar being so highly rated but because of its limited open timings it was a struggle to get coffee but it sure paid off when I managed to try the coffee. Nestled on the streets beside the setas you can sit on a bench, bask in the sun and try this complex, deep flavoured that somehow wasn't bitter even without any sweetener ( I usually have coffee with sweetener). Top coffee experiences in Spain for me.
Kim Mendoza★★★★☆
Little coffee shop with lots of character! You can see in the details and interiors of the shop.
Excellent service as well. The barista was very helpful and warm when we asked about the beans and items in the menu.
We also enjoyed the coffee. Tried both iced latte Regina and espresso tonic which were both flavorful. I would’ve given it 5 stars if there were pastries. But overall, a must try!!

I was on the lookout for a delightful açai bowl during my stay in Seville, and I was thrilled to find it on my suggestions list! It’s just a short 3-minute walk from my hotel. The place is wonderfully small and cozy, creating a lovely atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and engaging, always wearing warm smiles. Honestly, this is the most beautiful açai bowl I’ve ever seen in my life—perfect for taking photos! Plus, the prices are quite reasonable. I wholeheartedly recommend this charming spot!

A little expensive, but very nice café with lovely food and drinks. We had iced tea with lemon, iced latte, carrot cake and the Argentinian delicacy “alfajor”, although we were sorely tempted by the Pecan pie too! We paid 16€ for these four things.
Graham Norwood★★★★★
Fantastic little spot for a coffee and treat. Staggered steps await you for seating but it makes the most of its small space.
It packs a punch for a little shop - you’ve got drinks, baked goods, merch, and more!
Preferred a flat white and lemon cake slice. Both were tasty and there was a good vibe in there. Regular chat with their locals and regulars which is always a nice sign.
Well worth a stop on your route in to the city!

If the coffee is good, the coffee is good. And here the coffee is good.
From an experienced coffee consumer, I enjoyed my coffee here very much. I’ve drank coffee from all over the world.
The milk here nicely frothed. Taste is very good.
Order to your taste preferences. Big or small, which milk, how many shots. Whatever suits you.
They also have many different kinds of pastries, cookies and cakes. I have not tried them yet, but they all look great.
Also the woman who was working was very kind, and helpful. Great service!

Peter M. H.★★★☆☆
This coffee was at most acceptable however, I personally will not return. I ordered a large Cappuchino for 3,80 € (Jan. 2026) - easily a rather elevated price but one notices that this place get frequented by tourist who look for "something special" and don't mind paying higher prices. However, the Coffee tasted quite watery like flavoured brown water with good temperatured milk foam. Nothing more and nothing less.....there are many more places in Sevilla with better coffee and a better value for money.
Vancy★★★★★
The cappuccino was flavorful and full-bodied. It’s a tiny cafe, mainly focused on to-go orders.
Since it’s sometimes not easy to find great coffee places in Seville, this spot is a real gem.
Anyone who truly loves really good coffee should definitely visit this place!

If you love your independent coffee shops that do coffee well then come here. Love to try different coffee shops wherever I visit, but after one visit here, I didnt need go elsewhere. Superb coffee and great service. Get your caffeine fix here!

Great strong coffee! Got the iced latte. No flavors available though
Kiki Leahy★★★☆☆
Similar experience to other reviews- for the price, the quality was not there. The coffee I was served was over extracted and watery. For the price and specialty vibe, I would have expected higher quality tuning of the beans from the barista. Fine if you don’t really care about coffee…
Tips for Enjoying Coffee Near Setas de Sevilla
Navigating the coffee scene in Seville requires a slight shift in mindset compared to other European capitals, as the local culture blends traditional bar service with emerging specialty trends. The following tips will help you order like a local, find the best quality, and maximize your experience while exploring the area around the Metropol Parasol.
- Know Your Roast Profile: Traditional Sevillian coffee tends to be a heavily roasted, robust blend. If you prefer lighter, fruitier specialty coffee, look for terms like "Especialidad" or "Origen Único" on the menu. These establishments are usually run by young roasters who are happy to explain the tasting notes of their current offerings.
- Timing is Everything: The area around the Setas is busiest between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM, especially on weekends. If you want a quiet seat or a chance to chat with the barista about their brewing methods, visit during the weekday morning rush (before 9:30 AM) or during the late afternoon siesta hours (4:00 PM to 6:00 PM).
- Look for the "Tostado Natural": If you are a coffee purist, seek out cafés that advertise "tostado natural" (naturally roasted). This indicates a lighter roast that preserves the bean’s natural sugars and origin characteristics, as opposed to the "torrefacto" style which adds sugar during the roasting process and is common in cheaper local bars.
- Don’t Skip the Counter Culture: While sitting on a terrace is lovely, coffee in Spain is often cheaper and better consumed at the bar (barra). You will notice locals standing for their quick morning espresso. It is a great way to soak in the authentic atmosphere and save a few euros on the "terraza" surcharge.
- Pair with a Local Pastry: Coffee in Seville is rarely consumed alone. Ask if the café has "tortas de aceite" (olive oil crackers), a "caracola" (a spiral pastry), or fresh churros. The savory and sweet elements of Andalusian baking are specifically designed to complement the bitterness of the local coffee.
- Check for Air Conditioning: If you are visiting between June and September, the heat in Seville is intense. Not all traditional cafés in the historic center have strong air conditioning or comfortable seating for long stays. If you plan to use a laptop or rest your feet for an hour, verify that the venue is suited for longer visits rather than a quick stop.
Exploring the coffee shops near the Setas de Sevilla offers a unique opportunity to see the city’s evolution. You are standing in a neighborhood where centuries-old convents sit next to contemporary design studios, and the coffee scene reflects this beautiful contrast. Whether you choose a modern specialty brew or a classic café solo, taking the time to sit and observe the flow of life here is time well spent.
Ultimately, the best coffee shop is the one that fits your mood and needs on that specific day. Use this list as a starting point, but do not be afraid to wander down a narrow alley if a sign catches your eye. The joy of Seville is in the discovery, and with a good coffee in hand, you are perfectly equipped to explore it.
