12 Best Coffee Shops Near Alameda de Hércules

Alameda de Hércules is widely considered one of the most vibrant and characterful squares in Seville. Known locally as simply “La Alameda,” this sprawling promenade is a meeting point for artists, locals, and travelers who appreciate an alternative edge to the city’s traditional charm. While the square is famous for its late-night bars and tapas joints, the surrounding streets have quietly developed a reputation for excellent specialty coffee.

The neighborhood surrounding the Alameda blends the old with the new seamlessly. Here, historic facades house modern interiors, and traditional breakfast spots sit alongside third-wave coffee labs. Whether you need a quiet corner to work on a laptop or a sun-drenched terrace to people-watch, the area offers a diverse range of environments to suit every mood.

Finding a great cup of coffee in a city dominated by café con leche and torrefacto beans can be tricky. However, the rise of specialty roasters in Seville has changed the game, and the Alameda is at the epicenter of this movement. You no longer have to settle for a bitter shot when you are in this part of town.

The best coffee shops here offer more than just caffeine; they provide an experience. From minimalist Scandinavian aesthetics to cozy, book-lined nooks, the design of these spaces is as important as the quality of the espresso. Many of these spots also double as bakeries, offering freshly made pastries that perfectly complement their brews.

For digital nomads and students, the area is a haven for remote work. Reliable Wi-Fi, comfortable seating, and a relaxed atmosphere are common features. Unlike the more tourist-heavy areas near the Cathedral, the cafés around La Alameda tend to foster a local, community-driven vibe that makes you want to linger for hours.

Because the square is a hub for nightlife, many of the coffee shops here adapt their hours. Some open early to serve the morning rush, while others transform into wine bars in the evening. This fluidity makes the neighborhood a 24-hour destination, where your morning flat white can easily transition into an evening vermouth.

Below is a curated list of the twelve best spots to get your caffeine fix near Alameda de Hércules. Each location has been selected for its quality, atmosphere, and commitment to the craft of coffee.

Wonderful little cafe with a chilled vibe and lovely, friendly staff. Good place to stop and rest for a coffee and cake or toast. Comfy chairs inside surrounded by books with ramp access. Such a good cafe, highly recommended. Ended up going here 4-6 times over 3 days because their coffee is SO GOOD! Lovely area to catch up, have a drink and meet new people as well. The staff was kind enough to share some exotic funky beans they had and it was experimental and so unique ♥️

One of the best specialty coffee shops I’ve ever visited. The quality of the beans is exceptional, and you can truly tell how much knowledge and care the team puts into every cup. The baristas are incredibly skilled, and even a simple espresso is made with such precision and attention to detail that you can really taste the quality of the coffee. What I especially love about MUY COFFEE is their deep understanding and appreciation of specialty coffee. Every visit feels like a chance to experience coffee at its best. I honestly found myself looking forward to waking up every morning because I knew I was going to start my day here. MUY COFFEE became one of the highlights of my time in Seville, and I’m so grateful I found this place. Highly recommended for anyone who truly loves great coffee. 한국인 분들 그냥 묻고 따지지 말고 이쪽으로 오세요 세비야를 통틀어서 스페인 전체에서 여기가 제일 맛있는 거 같애요. 산미있는 에스프레소 ..최고

My favorite coffee shop in the area. It has a relaxed, laid-back vibe, a friendly owner and team, and genuinely delicious coffee. The space is small, but it’s been used really well, with a casual, thoughtful setup. They also play great music, which adds to the atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable, and they even sell their own coffee beans.

Went twice during my quick stay. Had a batch brew that was dialed in—delicate with floral notes and a some fruity vibes! Came back for a cappuccino and it was delicious. They take their coffee seriously and combined with the great vibes and friendly service I would definitely recommend this. It is an authentic specialty coffee shop that anyone into coffee would appreciate.

Awesome coffeeshop! Had a great V60, and a Flat white. The owners were super nice, and very friendly! Made steamed milk for our daughter who really liked it as well. Would very much recommend if you're into speciality coffee.

This coffee shop was on my radar being so highly rated but because of its limited open timings it was a struggle to get coffee but it sure paid off when I managed to try the coffee. Nestled on the streets beside the setas you can sit on a bench, bask in the sun and try this complex, deep flavoured that somehow wasn't bitter even without any sweetener ( I usually have coffee with sweetener). Top coffee experiences in Spain for me.
Kim Mendoza★★★★☆
Little coffee shop with lots of character! You can see in the details and interiors of the shop. Excellent service as well. The barista was very helpful and warm when we asked about the beans and items in the menu. We also enjoyed the coffee. Tried both iced latte Regina and espresso tonic which were both flavorful. I would’ve given it 5 stars if there were pastries. But overall, a must try!!

What a fun breakfast experience! The waiter patiently explained that you first choose the type of bread you like, then the fillings. The rest of the sauces can all be selected at the counter to match your favorite flavors. The price is very reasonable!

Very nice vibes. It’s a self serving restuarant with many side options like tomatoes, butter and olive oil. You can choose the bread and toppings. Orange juice was my favourite.

Got a lot a uncooked pasta pieces in my pasta bolognese. And we literally got attacked by flies, it was unhygienic- we kept needing to sway them away. Server was nice though.

Great little authentic Spanish Cafe. Lovely food, coffee and beer. Good for breakfast, tapas or just drop in for coffee. Service is spot on and as it was next to our hotel we visited many times.
G O Tapia★★★★☆
My favorite place for a tostada breakfast in seville. It’s a no frills spot that has various bread & topping options, with many of them complimentary (tomate triturado, oil, butter, jam, Nutella, etc). It can be a cheap breakfast, but if you add a few toppings it adds up! The coffee is just okay, but the orange juice is fresh squeezed and amazing. They don’t have wifi and it’s certainly no frills, but I love the outdoor seating on a nice day

I've had coffee from Syra in Girona and Barcelona and this one in Sevilla did not disappoint. It was the same great service and great tasting coffee. My go to place while here.

We had the best experience here. The coffee was super quality and the conversation with the barista even better! Gracias!!

We were lucky to found by coincidence Syra coffee in our stay in Sevilla. My girlfriend and I are very passionate about speciality coffee and to find Luis, behind the counter, was a nice surprise. We had a profound conversation where we could feel how passionate he is about speciality coffee. Originally we were there looking for a coffee, we tried the batch and a triple chocolate cookie - it was so tasty! After the nice chat with him we also took home one of the nice coffees from Ethiopia which Luis recommended. Atmosphere, even if limited seating, breathes of peace & tranquility! PS: If you prefer more type of pumpkin spice latte style… this place also has it, and the description & image looks so inviting! Truly recommended!!
Ghassan Shamseddine★★★★★
Cool place with a cool barista. The coffee is nice and the quality of the food/dessert is very good as well. We had a cookie, carrot cake and a croissant. All good. The place has barely a space for 4 people to stand/sit and finish their coffee.
Umut TÜREMEN★☆☆☆☆
I am not sure who gave those five stars. I drank one of the worst coffees in my life and paid 4 Euros. The store has only two chairs that doesn’t allow you to lean your back and when there are more than five people inside, it feels like a crowded bus.

LATE it is a coffee bar located not far away by alameda de hercules. The location it is tiny, fashionable and nice. The interior it is designed followed the minimalistic and freshly new yorker coffee bar style. The coffee it is well made it and one of the best tried in Sevilla. The service side sadly it is the least convincing part based on my experience. I can describe the service that I experienced like a little bit unfriendly and détachée. The Late’s it is a nice coffee bar but although If the service side was not satisfied I consider the LATE’s coffee bar a good place where to do a breakfast or a quick coffee break.
Christian Breitkreutz★★★★★
A cool coffee shop serving sandwiches and pastries, with solid coffee to match. It also works well as a spot to get some work done. The vibe is very hip and youthful, with a mix of locals and tourists. Staff felt a bit moody at times - though it might just be part of the place’s character.
Lea Sellam★★★★★
Good coffee places ! Recommend! WIFI 🛜 which is very rare in Spain in restaurants/ cafes . I love the cafe the carrot 🥕 cake was dry . The coffee is lovely
Anna Yanaeva★★★★★
As a coffee lover, checked out dozens of places around Sevilla and this is by far the best. It checks all the boxes: coffee is amazing, smooth and creamy. Food is great for a satisfying breakfast/brunch (jamon sandwich is to die for, avocado&feta is fresh and a great combo with fried almonds, chocolate cookie is not overly sweet and very flavorful). Last but not least: service is very friendly and efficient. It is a fairly small place, but I never had a problem finding a spot. Tables are cleaned in between guests (which is not always the case on other places). 10/10.

Stopped by for an iced coffee and a croissant and both were absolutely delicious! There are even flavors for the coffee, I got an iced pistachio latte 😋. Overall, this is a super cute coffee shop in the heart of Sevilla and the owner was very nice.

Good coffee shop. They didn’t have croissants that morning unfortunately. And they served the coffee in a to go cup although I was drinking it at premise.
Mun Kew Leong★★★★★
We've been trying every specialty coffee place we've walked by in Seville that smells good. This place smelt great, has the interesting beans and delivered the great taste we've been looking for. I had an espresso macchiato with Nicaraguan beans and my wife had a decaf flat white with Colombian beans. Good flavors and length on the decaf. The macchiato was excellent with great acidity and spiciness and a strong body. Definitely coming back!
林家慧(Chia Huei)★★★★★
The first time we came to this café, was a lot of people waiting in line and it seemed not enough seats, so we left. However, the awesome smell of coffee made us want to come back again, we must at least try once, no? We did! And it didn’t let us down. The cappuccino and latte were awesome and with enough caffeine :p (some café in Sevilla barely put enough coffee inside) , the cookies were also tasty and not too sweet. It seemed only had the owner himself to attend the clients, we were lucky to came a bit earlier to avoid the crowds. The general experience was nice, a bit pricey but not not affordable. Highly recommended!
Omar Karmustaji★★★★★
A great café with excellent coffee roasted in-house. Their pastries are delicious—especially the croissant—and their cortado is outstanding. Highly recommended!

Perfect cocktail ever! That was the recipe of house which is Tarifa. Super tasty but most important, they really added enough main alcohol into cocktail.

Possibly the worst espresso martini I have ever tasted! Licking salt of the testi’s of a honey badger would be more appealing then drinking this. Avoid and find your nearest badger!!

I was here six years ago when I first discovered this place, and just like last time, it did not disappoint. You can truly experience an authentic Spanish vibe here, not just with tourists but also with locals. The food is amazing—perfect for a quick and delicious breakfast. I personally love the taste of the bread and Spanish tomato (Pan con Tomate). Adding Jamón Serrano, a drizzle of olive oil, and a touch of garlic takes it to another level—absolutely to die for! Such a simple dish, yet incredibly flavorful. I absolutely loved it here!

I was on the lookout for a delightful açai bowl during my stay in Seville, and I was thrilled to find it on my suggestions list! It’s just a short 3-minute walk from my hotel. The place is wonderfully small and cozy, creating a lovely atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and engaging, always wearing warm smiles. Honestly, this is the most beautiful açai bowl I’ve ever seen in my life—perfect for taking photos! Plus, the prices are quite reasonable. I wholeheartedly recommend this charming spot!

A little expensive, but very nice café with lovely food and drinks. We had iced tea with lemon, iced latte, carrot cake and the Argentinian delicacy “alfajor”, although we were sorely tempted by the Pecan pie too! We paid 16€ for these four things.
Graham Norwood★★★★★
Fantastic little spot for a coffee and treat. Staggered steps await you for seating but it makes the most of its small space. It packs a punch for a little shop - you’ve got drinks, baked goods, merch, and more! Preferred a flat white and lemon cake slice. Both were tasty and there was a good vibe in there. Regular chat with their locals and regulars which is always a nice sign. Well worth a stop on your route in to the city!

First time in Seville and Jester was a great discovery! The place has a really nice and fresh coffee plus snacks, perfect for taking a break while exploring the city. Found out later it's actually a small chain. The experience spoke for itself. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Seville!

The açaí bowl was excellent, topped with delicious granola and fresh, flavourful fruit. Portion sizes are generous, and prices are very reasonable. Its great value. There were so many tasty options on the menu cookies looked especially good. Definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby.

Tips for Enjoying Coffee Near Alameda de Hércules

Navigating the coffee scene in this bustling neighborhood is a delight, but a little local knowledge can enhance your experience. The culture here is distinct from other parts of Seville, blending a relaxed daytime pace with the energy of the night. Here are a few tips to help you drink coffee like a local.

Understand the local milk preferences.
If you usually order a latte, be aware that in Spain, "café con leche" is the standard equivalent and is usually served in a smaller glass or cup than you might be used to. If you prefer a larger, milkier drink similar to a flat white or a standard American latte, ask for a "café con leche en vaso grande" or check if the shop offers specific specialty sizes. Many modern cafés near the Alameda will list "Flat White" on the menu, so stick to those if you want a stronger coffee-to-milk ratio.

Time your visit around the crowds.
La Alameda is a late-rising neighborhood. If you want a quiet table or a spot on the terrace, aim to arrive before 10:00 AM or between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Brunch hours on weekends, typically from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, are the busiest times. During these peak hours, tables at the most popular specialty spots fill up quickly, and service may slow down.

Look for "Tostado Natural" beans.
Traditional Spanish coffee often uses torrefacto beans, which are roasted with sugar, resulting in a very dark, bitter flavor. Most of the specialty shops on this list use "tostado natural" (naturally roasted) beans. If you are buying beans to take home, always look for the roast date on the bag and ask the barista for grind recommendations based on your brewing method at home.

Pair your coffee with a local pastry.
While croissants are common, look for Andalusian specialties to elevate your coffee break. Many cafés near the Alameda serve "tostas" (toasted bread with tomato and olive oil) or traditional cakes like "bizcocho." For a sweeter pairing, try a "pionono" or a slice of "tarta de queso" (Spanish cheesecake), which has become a staple in Seville’s modern café culture.

Check if the venue is laptop-friendly.
Not all coffee shops in the area welcome laptops, especially those that transition into bars in the evening. If you plan to work, look for cafés with visible power outlets, larger indoor tables, or those that explicitly advertise as "coworking friendly." It is generally considered polite to buy a drink or a snack every hour or so if you are occupying a table for an extended period.

Bring cash or a local card.
While most modern coffee shops accept credit cards, some smaller, traditional bars on the edge of the square may have a minimum spend or prefer cash for small transactions like a single espresso. Having a few euros in your pocket ensures you won’t miss out on a quick shot at a hole-in-the-wall spot.

The coffee culture around Alameda de Hércules reflects the neighborhood’s creative spirit. It is a place where tradition meets innovation, offering everything from a quick, standing espresso at the bar to a slow, meticulously brewed pour-over. The baristas here are generally passionate and happy to discuss the origin of their beans, so don’t be shy about asking questions.

Whether you are starting your day before exploring the Macarena district or fueling up for a late night out on the town, this area has you covered. Take your time, enjoy the atmosphere, and savor the fact that you are sitting in one of Seville’s most dynamic public spaces.
