Panypiu is a very pleasant spot for breakfast or a light meal. The coffee is excellent, and both the croissant and the sandwich are fresh and tasty, making for a satisfying combination. Overall, it’s a simple but high-quality place that works well for a relaxed start to the day in Seville.
Hebe Harris★★★★★
Bakery with delicious and varied food options. We tried the focaccia, pistachio croissant, milk bun and apricot pastry and all were perfect, as was the coffee

Found this place thanks to Google reviews. What a wonderful cafe bakery. First visit to Seville and this cafe and the staff are friendly and helpful. Supportive to you learning Spanish but also speak in English if you get stuck. We weren’t exactly sure of how to get served at first but approached the counter to wait. A couple of times we were missed but I honestly think that was down to us speaking to each other - so we weren’t interrupted. As soon as we stood with purpose and engaged, made eye contact with staff, we were served. The food we ordered was wonderful, I had the spinach quiche and OH MY WORD! Out of this world, I’m pretty convinced there was goats cheese in it. Whatever cheese it was it was lush and the texture of the warmed quiche with the salad and balsamic was spot on. Cappuccino for me. Appletiser and bagel with ham cheese and rocket for my partner. He loved it too. Highly recommended. The interior and atmosphere is also very calming and welcoming. One thing I also love is the thought to add hooks under the table for your belongings. Wish more places in the UK thought to do this. Facilities include - fully accessible toilet, baby changing space in there and I spotted a highchair too. Everyone is welcome.

Pretty decent experience overall. Good breakfast options, a lot of nice pastry. English breakfast good, but on a small side of scale. Cards are accepted. In the morning can be pretty hectic - queue is rather unorganized and seating places are pretty scarce.

Panypiu - Bread and much more The best bakery in Seville! I’ve been trying many croissants almost 4 weeks in Seville. Among nice bakeries in the city, I found this place as my number one because it has more than just pan 🙂 My favorites were the croissant and pain au chocolat. They are crispy outside, moist inside from enough butter. For me, the chocolate in pain au chocolat was also rich and just right. And the price is reasonable, the size is very generous. The staffs are so patient and warm- hearted even when it’s too busy which is always. They are focused on what they should serve. I think the team works very efficiently. I admire their work. I already became a repeat customer here. My breakfast time here was the happiest time during my stay in Seville 🙂 I hope all best to everyone who works here. 👍

If you are looking for flaky croissant, this is not the place. It’s more like bread and it was dry. Staff was not friendly, unwelcoming, and touching his facial hair. There was also construction inside, it started as I was eating. You will smell it! I wouldn’t recommend this place. Hope this will improve…

I have been this bakery yesterday and today, and I highly recommend it. The croissants are delicious, both original one and pistachio one. And the staff here are so nice, I especially wanna thank for Lola for her heartwarming service. Yesterday I didn’t pay successfully in the first time, but she told me don’t worry and kindly treat me ^^ I feel so moved by staff here.

I had a fantastic experience here! The cakes were absolutely delicious and the coffee was perfect. What impressed me the most was the portion sizes—they are very generous and offer excellent value for the price. The atmosphere is wonderful, making it a great place to relax, and the service was also very good. Everything we tried was high quality and satisfying. I highly recommend visiting if you’re looking for great treats and a lovely environment.

We absolutely loved our breakfast here! The mollete toast was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside — simple yet full of flavor. The croissants were outstanding, rich with the aroma of real butter and baked to perfection. But the real star was the pistachio croissant — flaky, creamy, and truly unforgettable. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, and you can tell great care goes into every detail. A must-visit spot in Seville for anyone who loves good pastry and bread! 🥐✨
Fatih Turan★☆☆☆☆
The staff were very rude. They looked tired of the tourists. But they shouldn't forget that they make their money from tourists. They need to be more friendly and respectful. The tables outside were very dirty. Why did you paint the inside of the pistachio croissant green?? We had ordered takeaway, but when the child got tired, we thought it wouldn't be a problem to sit at the dirty tables outside for a short while. A rude woman warned us in a rude tone, "You ordered takeaway, you can't sit here." When I said we could pay if there was a fee, she continued muttering, turned around, and walked away.

Bakeries in Spain often disappoint me with their bland, dry, and super sweet pastries, but this one is a gem! The chocolate strawberry cake I had was really good! It has layers of flavors, not too sweet, and the taste of fresh strawberries along with the chocolate really worked well. I wish they have a branch in Malaga.

I got their cake as a birthday present, and it was delicious! As far as I know it was pre ordered through their website and also included pretty candles 🙂

I really enjoy the desserts here. The sweetness is subtle and balanced, and the texture is incredibly smooth. It practically melts in your mouth. Amazing!

We ordered an amazing cake! Can highly recommend
Marijana Bengin★★☆☆☆
For a specialty cakes and sweets shop, I was honestly disappointed. The cakes don’t seem homemade, they look more like store-bought sponge layers with fillings that may or may not be made in-house. There was only one cake that appeared homemade, which I chose, and that’s the only reason I’m giving two stars.

I bought a “Roscón de Reyes” for our Christmas Eve dinner and it was absolutely delicious. The bread was soft and light, not overly sweet, and the cream was fresh and perfectly balanced. Many thanks to Virginia, who was so kind and helpful, especially given that the order was placed at the last minute. ¡A mi familia y a mi nos ha encantado! Mil gracias ☺️

Very good products and very good service, I would definitely buy from here again. I tried their banana bread and their alfajores, and I really liked both, fortunately for me they are not very sweet, so you can feel more ingredients, not just the sugar.

We have discovered a new 'go to' destination in Sevilla! So impressed with the quality and presentation of their work/art. The cookie was delicious and we can't wait to have the piece of cake for dessert tonight.

After searching the market we finally found Lila! She rewarded our efforts with a cookie and it was amazing. That day we bought a muffin and lemon tart. Wow. Went back the next morning and tried cookies and a cupcake. As an American living in Spain, I can honestly say I have never had desserts so like ones from home. This is a must visit place.

Although it is difficult to find from the street, you cannot miss this exquisite display! The lemon meringue pie is light and flavourful. A must have! The owner is passionate and friendly. Highly recommended!

Cheesecake is indeed superbly made. The Madeira cake is just with the right kind of sweetness. The lady owner is very kind. This stall deserves more than 5 stars if I can give her more for what she has done for us. Everything she does is out of passion for her bakeries and cares for others. You can sense the pride on her products. We will come back to Seville because of this experience.
Markéta Říhová★★★★★
Nice hidden space in the market so you can't actually see it from the street, but DO MAKE an effort and find it! The owner is super nice and the cakes are tasty with the real flavor! The alfajor is "must have", the best I ever had.

Lovely little spot, perfect for a treat. The cookie was a good size - could have been a little chewier but I only tried the Red Velvet flavour and there're loads to choose from!

Good cookie! Chewy, doughy and satisfying. Large selection of flavours (many different variations of chocolate). Only for takeaway, but you can sit and eat at the mushroom closeby.
Ghalia Ghawi★★★☆☆
Its ok, there's a variety of cookie flavors but the taste was just ok. We went in the evening so maybe thats why the cookies weren't very fresh ...
Eva Wray★★★☆☆
After reading all of the reviews we saw some controversy over the chewiness of the cookies, the pricing, and the politeness of the staff, so we were compelled with curiosity to find out once and for all the truth about Dulce Regina, here are our conclusions: 1. The chewiness seemed to vary extremely from cookie to cookie. In our experience the red velvet cookie was by far the best texture which exceptional chewiness and crunch 9/10. However we also tried some other cookies we saw recommended including the Classico and the triple chocolate, which were sub-par in the cookie chewiness department and had textures more similar to a cake and were quite bland in terms of flavour 4/10. 2. There was a lot of debate regarding the pricing of the cookies, although not super highly priced, we had noticed that the cost of a cookie increased from 1.50 to 1.80 for a classic cookie - there seems to be a disparity between the price of the product and its quality however it’s still a reasonable price especially considering its location. It is of note that they have deals for 6 cookies, however after some calculations, we realised the deals only save you less than a euro or so. 3. The friendliness of the staff raised a huge amount of debate within the reviews. I must say, although we tried to come into this with as open of a mind as possible, there could be some improvement. We came in after siesta time so one would assume the staff is well rested and in a lighter mood however this didn’t seem to be the case as the cashier was quite harsh and slightly unfriendly. Simultaneously, we understand that the service is not a priority for a cookie shop and it did not take away from the experience. Overall, this cookie shop is definitely worth it price and taste wise IF you get the red velvet cookie, but it cannot be guaranteed that it will be chewy on a daily bases.
Famille LeBreton★★★★★
The people that work there are very friendly and we learned a lot about it. It was created in 2012 and has been selling fresh cookies. It is very kid friendly and is very popular in the Winter. The classic chocolate chip cookie always has melted chocolate in the middle and it is one of the most liked by the workers.

Tips for Choosing the Best Bakery in Alameda de Hércules

Navigating the bakery scene in Seville requires a bit of local knowledge. The difference between a mass-produced industrial pastry and a true artisan creation is significant, both in flavor and how you feel afterward. By keeping a few key factors in mind, you can ensure that every euro you spend supports quality craftsmanship and results in a memorable meal. Here are some expert tips to help you distinguish the wheat from the chaff in this bustling neighborhood.

1. Look for "Masa Madre" (Sourdough)
If you are after bread that is easy to digest and full of flavor, ask if the bakery uses masa madre (sourdough starter). Bakeries that invest the time in long fermentation processes produce loaves with a superior crust, a moist crumb, and a complex, slightly tangy taste that commercial yeast simply cannot replicate.

2. Check the Baking Schedule
Timing is everything. The best bakeries often sell out of their star items by midday. If you want the widest selection of breads and pastries, aim to visit between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. For afternoon treats, check if they do a second bake, which is common in some traditional Spanish obradores.

3. Prioritize Seasonal Ingredients
Seville is surrounded by orange trees, and local bakers often incorporate seasonal fruits into their goods. In winter, look for torrijas or pastries featuring sweet potato or chestnut. In summer, look for lemon-infused sweets. A bakery that changes its menu with the seasons is one that cares about freshness and locality.

4. Observe the Crust and Color
You can tell a lot about a loaf of bread just by looking at it. Artisan bread should have a deep, golden-brown crust that is often slightly blistered or flour-dusted. If the bread looks uniformly pale or overly shiny, it was likely baked at too low a temperature or contains additives to fake the appearance.

5. Don’t Ignore the "Tostada" Culture
In Seville, breakfast is often a ritual involving toasted bread, crushed tomato, olive oil, and coffee. When choosing a bakery, consider how their bread performs when toasted. A dense, high-hydration sourdough will give you a crispy exterior and a chewy interior, perfect for holding olive oil without turning into a cracker.

The area around Alameda de Hércules is a testament to Seville’s ability to honor tradition while embracing modern gastronomy. Whether you are biting into a buttery croissant on a sunny terrace or tearing into a rustic loaf at home, the quality of the bake makes all the difference.

We hope this guide helps you discover a new favorite spot in this vibrant barrio. Remember that supporting local bakeries not only guarantees you a better breakfast but also helps preserve the culinary heritage of Seville for generations to come.
