12 Best Hotels near the Louvre Museum

Staying within a short walk of the Musée du Louvre transforms a standard Parisian trip into a seamless cultural immersion. Rather than spending your mornings navigating the Metro or sitting in traffic, you can simply stroll through the Cour Carrée before the crowds arrive. The surrounding 1st and 2nd arrondissements are not just convenient; they represent the historic heart of the city, offering access to the Tuileries Garden, the Palais Royal, and the Seine.

However, the definition of "near" can vary significantly depending on which side of the former palace you choose. The Louvre is massive, stretching from the Seine’s Right Bank up to Rue de Rivoli. A hotel that looks close on a map might actually require a 20-minute walk just to reach the Pyramid entrance if it is on the opposite wing.

The area comprises distinct micro-neighborhoods, each with a unique atmosphere and price point. To the north, around Rue Saint-Honoré, you will find high-end fashion houses and classic five-star palaces. To the east, near Les Halles, the vibe shifts to a bustling, pedestrian-friendly zone with more mid-range options and incredible food markets.

Choosing the right base requires balancing your budget with your desire for aesthetic authenticity. While some travelers want modern minimalism, most come to this district for Haussmannian architecture, gilded moldings, and views of zinc rooftops. Fortunately, the hotel scene here offers everything from intimate boutique hideaways to opulent palace hotels.

Accessibility is a key factor that distinguishes these properties. Many buildings in the 1st arrondissement are historic, meaning elevators can be small and rooms can be compact by international standards. However, what they lack in sprawling square footage, they make up for in location and service quality.

Whether you are visiting for the art, the shopping on Rue de Rivoli, or the proximity to the Opéra Garnier, staying here puts you at the center of everything. You can easily cross the Pont des Arts for a late-night view of the Eiffel Tower or wander back to your room after a long dinner without worrying about transport.

To help you navigate the options, we have curated a list of the best places to stay based on location, service, and value. These properties range from legendary institutions to hidden gems, ensuring there is a perfect match for every type of traveler.

The hotel is at great location. Great breakfast. Nice staff. Only situation is that the air conditioner never worked. We were lucky enough that only one day was hot and employees just recommend to open the windows. They Didn’t do anything to make air conditioner work in 10 days. In these days (june-july 26) would be impossible to stay in that room. Take that in account if you go in summer.
Leo Rocha★☆☆☆☆
Booked through Booking.com expecting the room shown in the photos. What we got was a box with a fan on a 33-degree day, zero mention of no air conditioning at check-in, and zero action after complaining to reception twice. The staff played dumb the whole time, pretending nothing was wrong so they wouldn’t have to deal with it. When we pushed harder, the first receptionist claimed the entire hotel had no AC. That was a lie. A second receptionist later admitted it was our room only. Meanwhile, the reception desk itself was perfectly air conditioned. We paid full price for a room that wasn’t fit for the conditions, with staff who lied to our faces rather than fix the problem. The photos are heavily edited. The rooms are small. Before you book: call ahead and confirm your room has AC. Don’t trust the listing. Don’t trust the photos. And if you need basic comfort in a Paris heatwave, look elsewhere.

Great location but the queen room we got was very small for two people. We only have carry-on baggage so expect to be tight for space if you have any large suitcases. Area felt very safe, easy to get around with metro nearby, lots of asian restaurants around. Breakfast was not worth the 17 euros per person but in a pinch before heading out was handy, we paid for the convenience of breakfast I guess. Just meh for a fairly expensive stay for our 2 nights there.

We stayed for 4 days 3 years ago. Staff went out of their way to help us with Ubers, information etc. Room was very small but clean. Sufficient breakfast buffet provided., enough to get the morning started. I would love to return if I could.

Amazing stay at Relais Du Louvre! The customer service was exceptional, everyone was friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The rooms were beautiful with a charming boutique feel, and everything was clean and well maintained. The elevator was surprisingly great (a nice bonus in Paris!), and the air conditioning worked phenomenally, which made our stay very comfortable. The location is fantastic and made it easy to explore the city. The only minor downside was that the shower was a bit small, but it certainly didn’t take away from the overall experience. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return!

We stayed here in the summer of 2023 and It keeps recurring to me how well this hotel established our stay, and set the stage for a wonderful vacation week in Paris. We travelled as a family of four. The hotel facility was lovely- it did not appear corporate; rather it was a smaller hotel with great personalized service. The breakfast baskets in the morning were high quality and adorable. The accommodations were both modern and traditional, and well planned. But what I most remember were the lovely staff at the front desk. They were so dedicated to helping us plan our week- it felt like they were constantly at work to make sure we were able to enjoy ourselves both in the hotel, and with the activities we planned. The warmth of their dedication to their guests was so meaningful to us, and really filled us with happiness an made our trip special. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Harold Bien★★★★★
First time in Paris and this tiny hotel located right next to the Louvre with the Eiffel tower visible just several steps towards the Seine, an old cathedral adjacent and visible from our window. Great personal service in this cozy hotel where your are always personally greeted. The windows open to the fresh air. While there is traffic along the Seine, the rooms itself is usually quiet even with the windows open and you are not blasted by the sounds of traffic. Breakfast, which is extra at $16€ per person is delivered to your room. It was delicious with the usual croissants, baguette, optimal yogurt, choice of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, and fresh squeezed juice. Turns out there was too much food for us to eat. Conveniently located right next to the Point Neuf metro station and easily walkable from Les Halles station which connects to the Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) via the rail (RER). Took us about 1 hour to slowly walk to the Eiffel tower with plenty of stops along the way. The room was spacious enough for the two of us and our 10 year old child. The building itself is rather old but this adds to the charm and there are no visible deficiencies.

Boutique Historic Hotel in the 1st, walk around the corner and you're at the Louvre or the Pont Neuf bridge, Metro and bus also. Walk to the Isle & Notre Dame. I love the view of the rooftops out the window, which not only has a privacy shade but also a Blackout Shade in case you want to sleep in. The Hotel Site has pictures of the bedside and the non-working fireplace which is a nice aesthetic however I thought I would add the other views of the room that I enjoyed. The benefit of the elevator is terrific and it fit my husband myself and our 2 carry on suitcases, we also enjoyed taking the stairs a couple times even if we were on the 6th floor- I love a circular staircase. Room 62 fantastic. has to be the best location and well worth the price. If you have a morning breakfast it's wonderful in your room to have time to get ready and then go out for the day. There's actually enough croissant or bread and ham and cheese to take yourself a little snack for the day. The only negative for room 62 would be if you have some mobility issue and can't step into a high bathtub. The bath has the European shower and half glass. the private toilet area is very nice with the built-in bidet and heated seat. Very nice on a cold morning. The people are so wonderful and helpful it makes the perfect location even better.
Jeff Savarino★★★★★
Located right across the street from the louvre. Located right near the metro, walking distance to many attractions such as the Seine and the Eiffel Tower. The rooms are comfortable albeit on the tighter side (standard European room). I can’t say enough positive things about the staff. They are accommodating, kind, and lovely to interact with. They truly do go above and beyond making us feel welcome and ensuring that we enjoy our stay with them.

No air conditioning in any rooms. The rooms are super super small. Much smaller than you are thinking. The fan on the ceiling barely worked and didn't blow any air down on you. No front desk, no concierge, big bottom to the main entrance door so you have to lift luggage up over it. Super tiny elevator that fits one adult and 1 piece of luggage max. This is a very low end Airbnb not a hotel by any means. Do not stay here, there are plenty of actual hotels by the Lourve.

We had a wonderful stay at this accommodation. The location is truly amazing, everything you need is within walking distance, and most places can be reached in just 15–20 minutes. Even if you want to walk into Paris, it’s about a 30-minute walk, and the city is very walkable, so there’s really no need to use public transportation when staying here. During one of the mornings there was a power outage, which was completely beyond the hosts’ control. Nevertheless, they handled the situation very professionally and kindly offered us a full breakfast the following day as an apology, which we really appreciated. Overall, a great place to stay with an excellent location and thoughtful hosts. We would definitely recommend it.

Very good location if you just want to go out and be right in the centre. We had issues with our room: door wouldn’t open and couldn’t get to our things. Staff kindly gave us another room but without our things (+no charger!!!) we couldn’t do anything and basically lost a day and had to cancel reservations. Handyman apparently thought it wasn’t urgent. And horrible smell in the hallway

WS Louvre Casanova - WS ROOMS: Unacceptable experience - Bed bug infestation We stayed one night at this property in June 2025, and the experience was absolutely unacceptable. The next day, my partner and I discovered multiple bed bug bites. We immediately contacted the property, which acknowledged the issue by phone and promised compensation. Since then, despite multiple follow-ups by email and phone, we have received no concrete solution. More than a month has passed, and all we get are vague responses about "waiting for a manager's approval", with no regard for the serious inconvenience we suffered: itching, stress, sleepless nights, and the fear of contaminating our home and belongings. Booking.com was informed but has not provided a resolution either. I strongly advise against booking this place. It shows a complete lack of accountability and care for guests, even in the face of serious health concerns. PS: The roof fan doesn't cool at all. On the other hand, it distributes dust throughout the room.
Jian Chen★☆☆☆☆
A particularly bad experience! We stayed at this hotel after a tiring day and found that the kitchen utensils were covered in oil stains and fingerprints, and the fan could not be used when the lights were turned off (which means you either have to leave a light to use the fan, which greatly affects sleep quality). The worst thing is that when you just lay down, you found blood stains on the bed sheet and blanket, which is the most basic hygiene bottom line. This hotel cannot even do this well. Please do not stay. I was also deceived by the pictures on the website. There are many better hotels to choose from at such prices, and this hotel is simply a disaster.

Such a fun way for 4 people to share a room. Really friendly staff who helped with our early check in and making us feel welcome, and same with checking out and offering to hold our luggage for the day. There was also a free mini bar included and roof windows for ventilation. The location is excellent with the louvre only 10 minutes away and lots of cafes and restaurants surrounding it. All for a very reasonable price too. Would definitely recommend.

This hotel was great! The location was optimal especially for a first timer in Paris. Super close to the metro and the Louvre/champs elysee ! Rooms are a little on the smaller side but was still manageable.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The location was extremely convenient for our itinerary. Most major attractions, including the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, and the Pantheon, were around €15 by Uber, while the Louvre and Palais Garnier were within walking distance. The atmosphere of the hotel was comfortable and relaxing. We stayed in a deluxe room, which offered enough space even though we had an extra suitcase for our pre-wedding photoshoot, including a wedding gown and evening dresses. Considering the price, the amenities were very satisfactory, including the hairdryer and WiFi. The room was also very clean, and we did not experience any noise issues during our stay. The highlight, however, was the hotel staff. They were extremely helpful, kind, and responsive throughout our stay. They were also willing to assist us via WhatsApp, which made communication much easier and removed any language barrier. This was especially valuable, as communication in French had been one of the more challenging parts of our trip. Overall, I would certainly choose this hotel again if I return.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with a friend during a city break. For the price, you can’t expect 5* accommodation, but it had everything we needed - a bed, toilet and shower. The shower space was quite small and a bit challenging to use. However, if you’re not planning to spend much time in the hotel and want to explore Paris, it’s great value for the location. The staff were also super friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even better.

Hôtel du Pont Neuf offers that classic charm you’d hope for in a traditional Paris hotel. First off, the location is hard to beat — super central with plenty of cafés just steps away. You’re also within walking distance of many key sights, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. The staff were another highlight. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which really made a difference throughout our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable when we arrived, and overall, we had a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you’re looking for a cozy, well-located spot in Paris.

A 2 star hotel in a 5 Star location. Rooms are small, restroom has a persistent faint rotten egg like odor, the paint on the walls are peeling, everything appears to held together by duct tape/stucco and the wifi never worked from day one. Its location elevated this hotel to five stars. It's within walking distance to a major shopping district, cafes/restaurants, minutes away from The Louvre, Notre Dame, and the Les Halles Metro station. The staff were are friendly.

Bathrooms are terrible and smell awful. Floors are not clean. Very noisy area. Staff demands that you leave your key behind whenever you go out. No elevator and narrow stairs make getting luggage to room difficult.

⭐ Honest review for budget travelers – great location, no luxury, but no surprises either! ⭐ I stayed here mainly because of the location — it’s incredibly central and honestly one of the most affordable options in this area. That alone makes it a great find for budget travelers. Yes, the hotel is old. Very old. Everything from the doors to the furniture is clearly from another decade (or three). But it’s not dirty — just dated. The rooms are tiny. There’s a bed, a small table, and a wardrobe. That’s it. If you’re planning to be out exploring all day and just need a place to sleep and shower, it works. But fair warning: the shower is very small — moving around is definitely a challenge. Also, there are very few power outlets. If you travel with lots of gadgets like I do, bring a power strip or adapter. That said, I got exactly what I paid for — no more, no less — and I’m totally fine with that. Staff at the reception were all very kind and helpful. There’s always someone at the front desk, day and night, which I appreciated. There’s no elevator, so if you have trouble with stairs, this might not be the place for you. But honestly? The location makes up for everything else. You can walk almost anywhere you’d want to go, and public transport is right around the corner. If you’re realistic about your expectations, this hotel absolutely delivers.

Great 4-night stay here. Friendly helpful staff, better than average breakfast well worth the cost. Room was small but well organized and equipped. Best of all, awesome location. We would happily return.

This hotel is in a great location for visiting Paris, especially for first time visitors who want to hit the major attractions. You can easily walk to the Louvre and the Musee de Orsay. Other attractions are an easy Metro ride away. The rooms are small which should be expected for this price range and location. Unfortunately, they aren't set up well for two people There is no place to set out more than one suitcase, and no place for two people to hang their towels. It is fine if you only use the room to sleep, but crowded if you want to spend time awake in the room. It is quiet unless someone is in the hallway talking. And the bed was comfortable. The room was fairly well cleaned when we arrived. They also cleaned the room and changed the towels daily, which was nice.
Roswel★★★★★
Although it’s officially a 3-star hotel, it’s always clean and comfortable, and I truly enjoyed my stay. Breakfast time is relaxed — the staff don’t rush or pressure you, and they quickly recognize returning guests, which creates a warm, familiar feeling. The bed is very comfortable, and the location is perfect — easy to reach anywhere in Paris. The room isn’t large, but it’s perfectly functional, and considering the market price, the overall value is excellent. Housekeeping is always finished neatly by early afternoon, so even when I came back in the middle of shopping, the room felt fresh and welcoming. A hotel with great cost performance — I would definitely stay here again.

We had such a wonderful experience here, the room and the hallway are a little small but well equipped, modern, and clean, the cleaning staff and front desk staff are simply wonderful people who are helpful, welcoming. The location simply can’t be beat, dozens perhaps hundreds restaurants within walking distance, some very large shopping centers within a few blocks, and you can walk to the Louvre and the Notre-Dame, or just stroll alone the beautiful Seine. Wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Amazing experience here! The staff was so nice and even gave us a room upgrade which was amazing. So many great complimentary amenities, we wish we had been able to stay longer to enjoy them. Location was wonderful too, lots of bakeries, food, cafes and etc nearby within walking distance. We were able to reach the Louvre on foot, and bike to the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower (although we probably could’ve walked as well, but bike is faster). Room was super clean and very comfortable.

The hotel location is perfect, quiet yet close to all. Minutes from the Louvre, musée d'Orsay and many great walk areas w dining and shopping. Fantastic room and totally out of norm amenities (free welcome bar, coffee, quality bath amenities, a working window in the wc). Great AC, TV. But what made it over the top , was the warmth, professional, attentive welcome Delara and Nix provided. How refreshing and exciting. Thank you, thank you.

I had a wonderful stay here and am completely satisfied! This is easily one of the best hotels I've ever experienced. The staff members are both very professional and friendly, making you feel welcome right away. Plus, the location could not be better. A quick note on the breakfast: the buffet area looks a bit small at first glance, but the food is actually surprisingly good and satisfying. I will definitely consider returning if I come to Paris again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It’s the best location close to many delicious restaurants and fun stores not to mention the Louvre. They listened to our requests as we had a baby and made sure we had the most private and quietest room. The room was clean and bedroom comfortable. The only minor issue was slow drainage in the shower but that’s an easy fix. The staff is also really kind and friendly especially during the evening shifts. If you have a baby I would highly recommend this hotel.

Our stay at Hotel Molière was brief yet truly delightful. From the moment we arrived, the front desk team provided a warm and welcoming experience, ensuring a seamless check-in process. The level of service throughout our stay was impeccable. The hotel’s facilities were excellent, particularly the steam room and sauna, which added an extra level of comfort and relaxation. Its location is also ideal—conveniently situated just steps from the Louvre, making it perfect for exploring Paris. My husband and I would like to extend our sincere thanks to the entire Molière team, with special appreciation to Anang, Nick, and Fabien for their outstanding hospitality and for making our stay so smooth and enjoyable. We look forward to returning on our next visit to Paris.

My teen daughter and I had the most wonderful stay at the Hotel de la Place du Louvre - Esprit de France! From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed, and the hotel made our trip to Paris truly unforgettable. The location of this hotel cannot be overstated—it’s absolutely perfect. It is within walking distance of everything! We loved how convenient it was to explore the Louvre, which was just steps away, as well as other iconic Parisian landmarks. Being able to step out of the hotel and instantly feel immersed in the beauty and history of Paris was incredible. We arrived early in the morning after a red-eye flight from New York, completely exhausted. To our delight, our room was already prepared, which was such a thoughtful and accommodating gesture. The staff truly went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable during our stay, and their attention to detail made all the difference. Our room was peaceful, charming, and absolutely delightful. The floor-to-ceiling windows that opened to our private balcony were a dream! Standing on the balcony with our personal view of the Louvre felt like a magical Parisian experience. The room was also impeccably clean, and we appreciated the mini-fridge for keeping drinks and snacks on hand. The charming bathtub with an open-air skylight added such a special touch—it felt luxurious and relaxing after a long day of exploring the city. One of the highlights of our stay was the daily tea service, which was a lovely touch. It was such a peaceful moment in our day to sit and enjoy tea in the tranquil atmosphere of the hotel. The entire property was serene and quiet, which made it feel like a true escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. We cannot recommend this hotel enough! Between the prime location, the attentive and kind staff, and the charming, peaceful ambiance, this stay was absolutely perfect for both myself and my daughter. We hope to return one day to relive the magic. Thank you, Hotel de la Place du Louvre - Esprit de France, for making our Paris trip so special!

I have just spent four nights at the Hotel Place du Louvre (Jan 2026) - what a lovely hotel. The staff are warm and friendly (and very helpful). The room was beautiful - I stayed in a Superior Louvre room (401). Elegantly decorated, bathroom with a bath and functional counter space. The room is large by Paris standards, limited storage for clothes/luggage. Nice touches included towelling robes, extra bedding (it was very cold during my stay), strong wifi, complimentary water (still and sparkling), nice toiletries etc. There was some noise on the first night (morning) due to rubbish collection and a building site. This only occurred one day as I think the heavy snow then ceased operations. There is a small elevator which helps with luggage, although I used the stairs most days. Breakfast is served in the subterranean 'cellar' with a domed limestone roof - it really is a lovely room. Good choice of cereals, fruits, yoghurts, pastries and bread, cheese and meat selection, scrambled eggs/bacon/sausages. Other egg options available on request. Coffee ok (I'm from Melbourne so the bar is high). As noted, the staff are very warm and friendly. It snowed heavily while I was there so the convenient location was immensely useful - it's right behind the Louvre, close to multiple Metro stops, an easy walk to the Left Bank, Marais, Concorde etc. The only (very minor) reflection is the downstairs (ground level) lounge area is not very welcoming. It feels like an airport business centre. Given the beautiful decoration in the guest rooms, this feels like a lost opportunity. The complimentary afternoon tea (drinks, cakes etc) would be far more pleasant if the environment was nicer. Application of the guest room wallpaper would probably make the lounge immediately more cosy. This of course is nothing in the grand scheme of things 🙂 All in all, I highly recommend.

This hotel is absolutely fabulous. It's a charming place..only 20 rooms. We had a wonderful view of the Louvre outside our window. Within the block is eating, shopping. Pont Neuf and even Batobus stop. Our room was large with huge windows which opened into our room. Our bathroom was large stocked with body wash, shampoo, conditioner and lotion There was air conditioning, a lift also. The staff is wonderful and treat you like family.

Really had a great stay. The location was so great that we kept going back to take a little break (with coffee n pastry in the lobby) and then go back out to sightsee again. The hospitality of the hotel extends to its sister hotels throughout the city - we had access to bathrooms and places to take a break. We liked the breakfast buffet. It was a great value to get a balanced breakfast before starting out. The people and the reception have been very helpful and welcoming. I would stay here again.

The hotel overall has plus and minuses. staff that we interacted with at the hotel were wonderful. Room size is small but moderate for the Paris city center, the bathtub/shower is difficult to enter and exit due to bathtub height, breakfast was satisfactory, fresh flowers in lobby with food nearby and beyond is problematic.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Our room was spacious with plenty of room to relax. It was very quiet. We were right next to the lobby with only one flight of stairs to manage. No elevator. They don't have a place for breakfast, but you can purchase a bag breakfast with pastry and yogurt that is delivered to your room. Very cute. It was located in a great neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants. It is close to many tourist sights. We could easily get a taxi on the corner. I would definitely book this hotel again.

There is no elevator in this hotel. At check-in, the staff told me they would help carry my luggage, so I agreed to stay. However, in the morning when I asked for help, a different staff member refused and told me to carry it myself, in a very rude manner. If assistance with luggage cannot be consistently provided, this should be clearly explained in advance. The inconsistent information and unfriendly attitude were disappointing, especially at the end of my stay.

Great and safe location andbut the room and bathroom were quite small — likely the maximum possible size given the building's structure. There’s no elevator, which could be challenging for guests with heavy luggage. That said, the receptionist kindly offered to help with mine, which I appreciated, even though I chose to carry it myself. The staff are friendly and helpful. Upon request, they provided an iron and ironing board, which was convenient.

This is a great value for a 3 star hotel. I just finished a 5 night stay so I got to see the team in action. The breakfast facility was always very clean and well equipped. While certainly not “luxe” it was clean, the bed was very comfortable, there was a desk, and the bathroom a good size and well equipped. You can’t beat the location, just steps from the Louvre, several 5 star hotels to cost for music and an aperitif, and lots of convenient shopping. If you’re looking for a 3 star hotel, I highly recommend this one.

I was blown away by my stay here. The location was incredible, the staff were all very friendly. Rooms were clean and the bathtub was amazing! Breakfast was fresh and delicious. And the price was better than anything else in the area. I will stay here again the next time I am in Paris without a doubt.

Stayed there for 1 night on my business trip, and couldn't even make a phone call from the room, as no phone signal in the hotel, and wifi is not accessible on the 4th floor, 1mbs speed doesn't allow even do the WhatsApp call. Had to go to cafe on the corner for better wifi as no mobile Internet signal in this building (cafe and the hotel). By the way omelette was horrible in this cafe.

A well-located hotel just steps from the Louvre, making it very convenient for sightseeing. Rooms are compact but clean and functional, which is typical for central Paris. Staff were professional, and the area felt safe and easy to navigate. A solid option if location is a priority and expectations are aligned with a smaller, city-center hotel.

The AC is based on the whole floor. So if you want to not sweat or have heat flashes I suggest you go somewhere else. Was told to open the windows where cigarette smoke got in the room and noice keeps you up all night. Only good thing about this hotel is the location and staff.

I really love this hotel. I have just had a wonderful stay at Hotel Lumen. The location is exceptional, just a short walk from the Louvre and so many of Paris's main attractions, with a host of lovely restaurants and cafes on the doorstep including the iconic Angelina's - A must visit for brunch! But what really made our stay special was the team. Every member of staff was genuinely warm, friendly and welcoming, and the personal touches made us feel like valued guests rather than just another booking. We were celebrating my mum's 70th birthday, and the hotel was the perfect base for a memorable trip. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Special thanks to the extremely friendly and helpful gentleman who was working on reception during our stay. I fully intend to come back and to bring my husband and children for my next stay.

Great location near everything in the 1st arrondissement. A lot of great cafes and food nearby. The rooms are very nice and great views of the streets. We were on the fifth floor and the street noise was normal. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. I would definitely stay here again.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Super location- everything within walking distance, on a relatively quiet street. Really quiet room looking onto the church next door. Had a small suite for 3 people, it was perfect. Great facilities in-room and at reception. Clean, quiet, tasteful. Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend the Hotel Lumen Paris Louvre for your stay in Paris. Everything about our stay was incredible from the knowledgeable helpful staff at the front desk through the housekeeping team. Each day, we received a bottle of cold water in the room. They even had a towel warmer in the bathroom. In the evening, you can relax in the bar attached to the hotel. There are numerous restaurants located within walking distance of the hotel. We were able to walk easily to all of the tourist areas we wanted to see. It is also adjacent to numerous couture venues, such as Gucci, Dior, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, etc. There is also a pharmacy at one end of the block and a very large grocery at the other end. This is truly a hidden gem in the heart of Paris.

This hotel was perfect! We stayed for 3 nights, arriving early on the first day and checked in early which was great. The room overlooked the street with a balcony big enough to go out onto which we loved. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again

Tips for Choosing the Perfect Louvre Hotel

Selecting the right hotel in such a dense historic district requires more thought than simply picking the closest dot on a map. The layout of the 1st arrondissement, the age of the buildings, and the specific entrance you plan to use at the museum can all impact your stay. By considering a few practical factors before you book, you can avoid common pitfalls such as street noise, cramped quarters, or an unexpectedly long walk to the museum gates.

Verify the Specific Entrance Proximity
The Louvre has multiple entrances, and the main Pyramid line is often the longest. If you plan to use the Carrousel du Louvre entrance (via the shopping mall) or the Porte des Lions, your ideal hotel location might shift. Check the walking distance to your preferred gate, not just the center of the museum complex.

Prioritize Soundproofing
The streets surrounding the Louvre, particularly Rue de Rivoli and Avenue de l’Opéra, are busy with traffic and late-night revelers. While a balcony view is romantic, it can be noisy. Look for recent reviews mentioning "quiet rooms" or "double glazing" to ensure a good night’s sleep.

Understand the "Classic Room" Size
In historic Haussmannian buildings, standard rooms can be exceptionally small. If you are traveling with large luggage or staying for more than a few nights, it is often worth paying for a "Deluxe" or "Superior" category. This ensures you have enough space to open suitcases without playing a game of Tetris.

Consider Breakfast Inclusion
While dining at a Parisian café is part of the experience, it can be expensive and time-consuming if you want to enter the Louvre early. A hotel rate that includes a high-quality breakfast can save you money and precious morning time, allowing you to get in line before the tour buses arrive.

Look for Concierge Expertise
Staying near the Louvre often means you want to experience the best of Parisian culture. A knowledgeable concierge can secure hard-to-get restaurant reservations or advise on the best times to visit the museum. This service differentiates a good hotel from a great one and adds significant value to your stay.

Choosing a hotel near the Louvre is an investment in your time and the overall atmosphere of your trip. There is a distinct magic to waking up, stepping outside, and seeing the palace walls glowing in the morning light before the city fully wakes up.

Whether you opt for the regal luxury of a palace hotel on Rue Saint-Honoré or the chic intimacy of a boutique property near the Palais Royal, you are choosing to live like a local in the center of Paris. With the right preparation, your accommodation will be just as memorable as the masterpieces hanging inside the museum.
