12 Best Italian Restaurants in Saint-Tropez

The French Riviera is synonymous with glamour, and nowhere embodies this spirit quite like Saint-Tropez. While the town is famous for its yacht-filled harbor and legendary beach clubs, it has quietly become one of the most exciting culinary destinations on the Côte d’Azur. For those who love Italian cuisine, the options here are remarkably authentic, rivaling the trattorias of Rome or the osterias of Naples.

The deep connection between the Italian Riviera and the French coast has influenced local gastronomy for centuries. In Saint-Tropez, this translates to hand-made pasta, wood-fired pizzas, and seafood dishes that celebrate the Mediterranean. Whether you are stepping off a superyacht or arriving by car for a weekend getaway, the search for the perfect plate of spaghetti alle vongole is a serious affair.

However, dining in Saint-Tropez can be a minefield of tourist traps and overpriced menus if you do not know where to look. The true gems are often tucked away on cobblestone side streets or perched on the edge of the port, offering both atmosphere and culinary integrity. To help you navigate this vibrant scene, we have curated a guide that balances old-school charm with modern gastronomic flair.

This selection focuses on restaurants that prioritize high-quality ingredients, many of which are imported directly from specific regions in Italy. From the perfect al dente texture of fresh tagliatelle to the char on a Neapolitan crust, these establishments understand the craft. They offer not just a meal, but a transportive experience that bridges the gap between France and Italy.

Whether you are craving a creamy burrata, a rich truffle risotto, or a simple yet perfect margherita, Saint-Tropez has a table for you. We have considered service, ambiance, and consistency to bring you a list that suits both romantic date nights and lively family dinners.

Below, you will find our curated selection of the best Italian tables in town, followed by essential tips to ensure you make the most of your dining experience in this glamorous coastal village.

We lucked upon this gem of a restaurant in St. Tropez. It’s a bit off the beaten path which is a good thing, or we probably wouldn’t have gotten a table. This was some of the best food I have had anywhere in the world. The vitello tonatto was absolutely divine and those hand rolled cheese filled ravioli with fresh tomato were sublime. Every dish was five stars including the wine selections. I would eat here everyday if I could. If you are visiting St. Tropez this is as good as it gets and very reasonably priced as well! Thank you for a wonderful evening and please open a restaurant in Palm beach!

This restaurant is a hidden gem on a side street in St. Tropez. The staff are absolutely magical souls from Italy who are incredibly kind & thoughtful, and care about making your dining experience great from start to finish. The menu is simple, and focused on pasta, but they know how to do it right and for a great price. You choose the kind of pasta and sauce you want and they will make it to perfection. We got the fettuccine bolognese and the truffle truffle ravioli and both were exceptional. We also loved the burrata appetizer. Skip the tourist traps by the water - this is where you want to come when you’re in town.

Arrived at 12:00 with 4 kids, booked the evening before, got served at 13:15 some disgusting pastas. We were the first customers to arrive and got served last. This is one of the worst experience ever. The restaurant is clearly not worth it. They installed us in a smelly outdoor with sewage right under our feet. We asked to be moved and they started to argue, before eventually moving us to another spot. Unfortunately it took them 45 mins to take our order. People who came after us got served and left before we even started eating. The owner doesn't even apologise or try to give us a discount. He smoke before coming back to his kitchen. No sanitary protection (hair not covered). No air-conditioning inside. In terms of food, that's disgusting. The carbonara was dry. The "Tomato and garlic" sauce is not a sauce. Nobody finished their plate due to the disgusting taste. Over 200 euros for this? There are so many other places in St Tropez that are better, cheaper, and more considerate to their customers. Especially the ones with young kids.

The food was really delicious. We ordered truffle pasta, ravioli, and lasagne, and everything was excellent. We were also able to order half a portion of bolognese for our child at half price, which was a very nice touch. All the dishes were served together, and the staff even asked if we wanted the child’s meal to be brought earlier. Before the meal, we also received delicious little rolls with pesto. The restaurant may be a bit off the beaten path, but places like this are often the best ones. Highly recommended!

A wonderful surprise on a quiet street, yet in a very convenient location. We had an incredibly enjoyable and delicious dining experience—it truly felt like a little trip to Italy in the heart of Saint-Tropez. We loved it so much that, during our short stay, we ended up having almost all of our meals here. The entire team was warm, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We tried the Bolognese gnocchi, the cheese raviole with tomato and basil sauce, the linguine with pesto, and the lemon ravioli with butter and Parmesan sauce. Every dish was delicious, but the lemon ravioli was absolutely outstanding—without a doubt our favorite. The homemade tiramisu was the perfect way to end the meal, the selection of Italian wines was excellent, and we especially appreciated the limoncello the team kindly offered us after dinner—a lovely touch. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return the next time we’re in Saint-Tropez. Thank you to the chef and the entire team for such a memorable experience!

Not to be missed. Loved it, delicious food, super friendly service, beautiful presentation, highly recommend, will definitely be back. We had the tuna with foie gras, and (I believe) dorado fish. Everything was impeccable, I want to go back and try other plates such as octopus, which looked amazing. Central location on a beautiful street. Thank you so much, see you again soon.👍

What a an excellent experience we had in this restaurant. The food was soo delicious 👌 We have penne arabiata pasta.. It was spicy, but taste was balanced. We had the restaurant special ( spaghetti with truffle & Burrata) & we has the whole baked seabass. Super delicious. The service was excellent.
Gaia Lopez-sundberg★★★★★
We have found the place by chance, but very happy, we ate pasta allo scoglio and it was wonderful and the white wine from Provence delicious. Service super nice and warm! I recommend
Mariana Barbosa★★★★☆
The food has good quality, but it is overpriced (2 pasta dishes and 2 drinks). The waiters forgot about our drinks and they were only brought after the food was on the table
Takaya Tschumi★☆☆☆☆
Extremely slow service and an aggressive owner who takes his stress out on customers. Ruins your vacation! Just like many other 1-star reviews have mentioned, the owner immediately flies into a rage and has zero self-control. The food took an agonizingly long time to arrive because they clearly lack enough kitchen staff. What's worse is that the owner gets visibly stressed and frustrated by his own kitchen's delays, and then proceeds to take his bad mood out on the paying customers. If you bring up any issue, he instantly snaps and turns hostile. This terrible experience completely ruined what was supposed to be a wonderful trip. Save yourself the headache and avoid this place at all costs in Saint-Tropez.

We had a lovely lunch at Marcellino in Saint-Tropez. We ordered the octopus, an Orangina, and a pinsa, and everything was enjoyable. The octopus was well prepared and flavorful, while the pinsa had a light, crispy base with fresh toppings. The Orangina was a refreshing addition on a warm day. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it a great spot to take a break and enjoy a meal in the center of town. The service was friendly and overall we had a pleasant experience. A nice choice if you are looking for a casual lunch in Saint-Tropez.
Valentina Pollio★★★★★
We came here per a locals recommendation for lunch that they had the best pasta and it DID NOT disappoint! Our server, Tina, was absolutely amazing and gave us the best service! I recommend you to try the seafood pasta with the shellfish bisque, we wish we ordered 2 of these. Hands down the best seafood pasta I’ve had on my 10-day Côte d’Azur trip. Must visit!!!

The food is amazing and generous. The waiter was very nice ! And just for that, It’s one of our favourite restaurants. The place is well located, just in front of the port ! I recommend you to have diner during the sun set as we did ! It was less crowded and the view was beautiful 🌅

Lovely view of the port - beautiful open air patio restaurant. The dorade plate was exceptional. Caesar salad was expertly ordered and served elegantly by Damian .
Magda Adamczyk★★☆☆☆
Marcellino, Saint-Tropez Disappointed, unfortunately. This was our first time writing a negative review, as we usually only review restaurants where we’ve had a genuinely great experience — but this time we left let down. The food was mediocre for the price, and the portions felt overpriced for what was served. What really soured the experience, though, was the service. The waiter was unfriendly from the start, never smiled, and even though the restaurant was nearly empty, he acted as if we were bothering him. The woman who brought out the food was equally unpleasant. Overall, a disappointing experience — we wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

This can be the no. 1 Italian restaurant on my list. Seasonal risotto with asperges was very delicious and the homemade pizza is just nice savory with a good spicy hint. Staff was very friendly with our kids’ order. Price quality highly recommended.

Ordered pizza, it was not that good, plus they don't allow to share it for some reason. Pasta Bolognese not great either. So all in all, mediocre place, but service was OK.

Hands down a top Italian restaurant to try. We came here 2x during our 4-day stay. The service was great, it can be a little faster but we are in an atmosphere where people are more relaxed and not in a rush. Try the spicy pizza with the Chile oil, the eggplant Parmigiano and the affogato for dessert.

The dish of the day was gnocchi with veal ragù. While the ragù had a decent flavor, its consistency was more like baby food than a proper slow-cooked meat sauce. The gnocchi themselves were overly soft and mushy, making them unpleasant to eat. As a starter, we had the grilled octopus. Unfortunately, it was quite forgettable. The texture left much to be desired, and it lacked the depth of flavor you would expect from a well-prepared grilled octopus. Overall, it was rather tasteless. The grilled beef was burnt on the outside, and several pieces were so tough that we couldn't chew them. Without the chimichurri, the meat would have been quite tasteless. When we ordered a glass of Chardonnay, it arrived already filled to the brim. There was no opportunity to taste the wine first, nor was it poured at the table, which is not what I would expect at a restaurant of this level. We mentioned this to the service staff, but the concern seemed to be brushed aside. We later raised it with the sommelier, who acknowledged the issue but explained that it was an organizational matter and that the wine service depended on which member of staff was serving. Before leaving, we shared our feedback with the manager. We genuinely hope it was received in the constructive spirit it was intended and that the restaurant takes it on board, as there is clear potential to match the excellent atmosphere with food and service of the same standard. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant for the food, but I would recommend it for the atmosphere.
Claudia Wetteland★★★★★
We had an absolutely exquisite meal at Le Patio from beginning to end! The cocktails were creative and delicious and the food was equally impressive! We loved the carpaccio and bruschetta which was an explosion of flavor in a petite bite! The service was friendly and attentive without being smothering. Highly recommend!!

The dinner ambience with the live music is nice. Have a look around and maybe enjoy a cocktail for € 34. However, DO NOT touch the food. We made them aware twice of my food intolerance and checked again each time they brought a dish. Based on how I felt after dinner, they did something VERY wrong. On top of that, my wife found a piece of plastic in the Tagliata de bœuf while she was chewing it. They waitress took it to the kitchen to have it checked out and told us that it's a piece of the plastic the chefs use to cook it. How on earth should that reassure us. So even if you are lucky and they don't forget any of the plastic pieces in your food, you can be assured that they are poisoning you with tons of micro plastics. Would have thought people know better by now. Also no attempts by the waitress or anyone else to make things right so we left the remaining food behind and left. Pasta dishes taste mediocre at best. Portion sizes are tiny but that might be for the best. If I knew my way around the French system I'd be inclined to have the health inspectorate visit them. Clearly their kitchen is like the wild west.

A bubble of calm and flavors in the heart of St Tropez. A Sunday lunch at Le Patio restaurant, at Hôtel Le Yaca. The Chef blends high-flying Italian cuisine and Mediterranean traditions with great talent. The staff is attentive and very friendly. One word: exceptional!
Kevin Bernges★★★☆☆
Food was very nice and of high quality, as you can expect. Atmosphere is stunning in this beautiful courtyard with its ivy surrounding (the music was unnecessarily loud and the singer partly quite bad, more of a nuisance I found). The service was abysmal. Our waitress seemed like she had her first day and wasn’t trained. Rarely showed up, brought bread etc too late, in the middle of the meal, could explain absolutely zero about the dishes, didn’t ask a single question, overall completely desinterested. Pity as the other waiters seemed significantly better. Shouldn’t happen at a place like this!

This restaurant is nothing special. The quality of the food is really poor and is far from real Italian food. The ceasar salad was horrid there was no sauce and no taste it shouldn't be called a ceasar salad because it isn't one.

Last night my friend and i went for dinner at the burger tent. My friends card declined at the first payment so he tried again, it declined the second time and i decided to pay. While we were enjoying our burger my friend looked into his bank account and in the bank account it said that he did in fact pay for our food. He went back and asked the man to clarify and he told him he did not pay. Today my friend went and called his bank to learn that 2 different terminals were used!! We would like to know what has happened here before we take action.

By far one of the finest Italian restaurants in have frequented in France. The menu is varied and is simply delightful. The owner recommended we share a starter as our mains were adequate, besides we could always order more. We'll, the starter was amazing as was the Sea Bass and Ribeye main courses. We followed this with Italian ice cream, all washed down with a digestive of Limoncello liquer. I was amazed at the price, beers, wine, food, deserts, liquers and all for under 150€. The staff are amazingly attentive without being intrusive. The village of Gassin is a walk through time, its medieval roots still present in the architecture. Don't hesitate, book, you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful Italian restaurant in a cute mountain village, you should see the village and eat here. Everything we ate was delicious from starters to main dishes but you should definitely try the calamar for starter. Not so pricey comparing the area. Good cocktails.

By far the best italian restaurant in St Tropez! No matter where you re staying around the Golfe, you must pay a visit to this little gem nestled in the heart of Gassin, one of the most gorgeous Provençal village! Mathieu and his whole team been so friendly and make my time there a truly enjoyable moment! Obviously wonderful views and a warm welcome. The pasta dishes were excellent, full of flavour and beautifully presented. However the main course of tuna was very odd tasting, had no real flavour other than a slight fishy and oily taste. It did not taste freshly prepared. Also over priced.

Where to start, very friendly and welcoming staff already from outside of the restaurant,we got lucky and got seated with an incredible view even without reservation (went there “early” for the dinner standards in Europe). Even though not in the mood (and also very full) we tried their lemon cacio e pepe which was impeccable! What was even better was the “dirty dirty”, probably the best dirty martini I’ve ever had! They also have a beautiful bar with a breathtaking view of the sea, which is great to enjoy a very well crafted drink. What to say, it made for an incredible night. Adding to the many reviews of their top notch staff, the service was perfect.

Its nicely renovated with good food and amazing interior and views. It’s on the pricey side for the drinks around 30 eur which need something more for this price but otherwise highly recommend.

Cherry, an Italian restaurant in Saint Tropez France. The menu is Italian cuisine with added American dishes and twist (think of Carbon in NYC). Beautiful view overlooking the harbour. Friendly and welcoming service.

Absolutely appalling experience. Booked for 21:45 and on arrival were told our table wouldn’t be ready until 22:10. We returned then and it still wasn’t ready. No apology whatsoever—we were simply told to wait on a bench outside (or that we could order drinks at the bar), then condescendingly informed that we “don’t know how it works in St Tropez.” Had we been this late, we would have forfeited our deposit. The door staff were extraordinarily rude, Antoine in particular. As regular Indie Group customers, we won’t be returning.
C S★☆☆☆☆
The manager (or sommelier?) was a complete jerk and ruined our dining experience. We ordered a bottle of Sancerre, which was objectively terrible, and he tried to gaslight us into keeping it. He hovered during our dinner and made it extremely uncomfortable, making faces etc. The food wasn’t bad but didn’t warrant the price whatsoever. Too many incredible restaurants in St Tropez to waste a meal here.

Tips for Enjoying Italian Dining in Saint-Tropez

Dining out in Saint-Tropez operates on a different rhythm than other parts of France, blending Parisian chic with Mediterranean leisure. To ensure your Italian meal is as seamless as it is delicious, it helps to understand the local dining culture, reservation etiquette, and seasonal shifts that define the village.

Book Ahead, Especially in High Season
During July and August, the population of Saint-Tropez swells exponentially, and the best Italian tables are booked out days, sometimes weeks, in advance. Do not rely on walking in, particularly for dinner at the port or in the old town. Call ahead or use an online reservation system to secure a prime table, especially if you wish to dine after 8:00 PM.

Embrace the Late Dinner Hour
Unlike some parts of Europe, dining in Saint-Tropez starts late. Most kitchens do not begin dinner service until 7:30 PM, but the true atmosphere ignites around 9:00 PM. If you book an early table, you may find the restaurant quiet; if you want the electric, people-watching atmosphere the Riviera is famous for, aim for a later reservation.

Dress to Impress
While the vibe is relaxed, Saint-Tropez is a place of high fashion. Even at casual trattorias, the dress code leans toward "smart casual." Leave the beachwear and flip-flops for the Plage de Pampelonne. A linen shirt, a sundress, or elegant resort wear will ensure you feel comfortable and fit in with the sophisticated local crowd.

Look for the "Fatto in Casa"
When scanning a menu, look for Italian phrases indicating house-made production. Words like fatto in casa (made in-house), pasta fresca (fresh pasta), or produzione propria (own production) signal a kitchen that values craft over convenience. This is the fastest way to distinguish an authentic Italian gem from a tourist-focused establishment serving frozen pasta.

Share and Savor the Antipasti
Italian dining is a social event, and the starters are often the highlight. Order a selection of antipasti to share—think fritto misto, beef carpaccio, or grilled vegetables—before committing to a heavy main course. This allows you to sample a wider range of flavors and matches the slow, convivial pace of a true Mediterranean evening.

The magic of Saint-Tropez lies in its ability to blend effortless luxury with deep-rooted tradition, and the Italian restaurants here capture that balance perfectly. Whether you choose a rustic pizzeria hidden in the back streets or a sleek dining room overlooking the Mediterranean, you are participating in a culinary legacy that has shaped this coastline for generations.

As you wander through the old port with the scent of basil and sea salt in the air, let your appetite guide you. With this guide in hand, you are well-equipped to find a meal that will linger in your memory long after the sun has set over the Baie de Saint-Tropez.
