After an early morning spent wandering the hallowed halls of the Louvre, few things feel as indulgent as stepping out into the First Arrondissement and sinking into a velvet chair with a perfectly pulled espresso. The area surrounding the museum is often dismissed as a tourist trap, but hidden among the Haussmann boulevards and historic arcades is a thriving specialty coffee scene. Whether you are looking for a quiet corner to process the art you just saw or a photogenic backdrop for your Parisian travel diary, the right café can elevate your entire visit.
The French café culture is not just about the caffeine; it is a ritual of slowing down. Unlike the grab-and-go mentality found in other major capitals, cafés near the Louvre invite you to linger. Here, the clinking of porcelain, the murmur of quiet conversation, and the scent of freshly baked viennoiseries create an atmosphere that is as nourishing as the food itself. It is the perfect counterbalance to the sensory overload of one of the world’s largest museums.
Aesthetic appeal matters in this neighborhood. The streets surrounding the Palais-Royal and Rue de Rivoli are renowned for their architectural grandeur, and the interior designs of the local coffee shops often mirror that elegance. You will find everything from minimalist Scandinavian interiors to gilded, Napoleon III-era tearooms. Knowing where to go ensures you do not waste precious sightseeing time on a mediocre cup of coffee in a bland setting.
We have curated a list that prioritizes quality, atmosphere, and proximity to the museum. The selections range from historic institutions that have served artists for centuries to modern third-wave roasters pushing the boundaries of flavor. Each entry offers something unique, whether it is a signature pastry, a stunning view of a quiet courtyard, or an interior that feels like stepping into a painting.
This guide is designed to help you navigate the options efficiently. We have considered the practicalities: the walking distance from the Pyramid entrance, the noise level, and the availability of seating. We also understand that after hours of walking on marble floors, comfort is king, so we have prioritized spots where you can truly rest your feet without feeling rushed.
Before diving into the list, it is worth noting that Parisian service differs from what you might expect elsewhere. A server will not bring you the check until you ask for it; this is a sign of respect for your time, not neglect. Embrace the pace. Use these café stops as a chance to people-watch, journal, and plan the rest of your itinerary. The best memories of Paris are often made in the pauses between the monuments.
Below, you will find a handpicked selection of the most aesthetically pleasing and delicious cafés within a short stroll of the Louvre Museum.

1. They do not sell water
2. In summer heat it’s oven inside. Modern day slavery for workers.
3. There is no view, its all louvre level across the street

Delicious focaccia and beer, CHEAP! Perfect after a tour round the Louvre. Staff very friendly and was kind to my butchered French

A veritable quiet haven in the middle of the day. Frequented by university students quietly studying. We enjoyed a Focaccia Rustique. The single staff member obviously enjoys working there and it shows in her attitude. A gem. 💎

Officine du Louvre is undeniably beautiful, the space alone is worth the visit, and the welcome at the entrance was warm and genuinely lovely. We settled into the café for a drink and a lemon ice cream, but the wait stretched past 40 minutes, which felt long for what we ordered. We also asked for a food menu and it slipped through the cracks, had to flag down another staff member to get one. Service hiccups aside, the ambiance is gorgeous and comfortable enough that I’d still consider going back, just with a little more patience in mind.

It’s petit cafe/bar with a very nice roof. We enjoyed the time there but the service was not very fast. Maybe because of the shift changing. The pastry was really amazing!

Had afternoon tea, for €50 each, absolutely shocking. You get a bite of a sandwich each, the desserts weren’t nice - one come with a pea puree in the middle which did not work and hazelnut praline was gritty and too sweet. You have to ask for plates, an extra tea bag as they only give you one, for staff to forget as they would be chatting to each other and then you have to ask again. The service was poor, spend your money elsewhere, you’ll have a much better time.

A lovely, fancy lunch in a gorgeous spot- away from all the hustle and bustle. Our waitress was incredible and very helpful navigating the menu with our kiddo’s allergies. Would highly recommend their cocktails, too!

Beautiful restaurant and bar in hotel louvre that is like walking inside of a painting. Ornamental window up top, greenery, delicate accents. A lovely respite away from the bustle outside. I got the root vegetable tart which was very beautiful and delicious. Various root vegetables inside a thin and flaky phyllo crust that came with a salad. I also got earl grey tea which was lovely. Check them out for tea time that service looked great!

We were absolutely delighted with our evening at Le Marly. We had booked a table in the row closer to the Louvre courtyard. However, when we were seated, we were given a table next to a service station for the waiters, which partially blocked our view of the pyramid.
I politely asked whether it would be possible to move us if a table with a full view of the pyramid became available. The hostess was incredibly kind and, with a smile, did everything she could to make it happen. Within just five minutes, another table became free, and as soon as it was cleared, she moved us there.
That thoughtful gesture truly made our evening, especially because we were celebrating an important occasion. The magical lights of the Louvre added an extra touch of magic to the whole atmosphere.
I would also like to highlight the excellent service. The waiters speak English fluently, are attentive, and are happy to help with choosing dishes. By the way, the cheesecake is absolutely incredible, and we also really enjoyed the salmon gravlax starter.
At one point, someone at a nearby table started smoking a cigar. I asked a waiter who was not even serving our table if something could be done, and he immediately handled the situation by asking the guest to stop, as cigars are not allowed. His quick response allowed us to fully enjoy the dishes we had ordered without the smoke disturbing us.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Café Le Marly and left extremely satisfied. ✨💌😻.

The atmosphere, food and services is great! The tables on the outside are a little small. We did not reserve a table tho that might be why. All in all we had a great experience to eat next to the Louvre and we could also see the Eiffel Tower from our table. ✨✨🍽️ We had one main course per person, water, homemade Ice tea and a glass of wine. Very delicious

Le Café Marly offers a wonderful dining experience in one of the best locations in Paris. The staff are warm, welcoming, and attentive, making you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. The view overlooking the Louvre is absolutely stunning and adds something special to the meal. The food is delicious, with every dish beautifully presented and full of flavor. Considering the location and overall experience, the prices are very reasonable. A perfect place to enjoy great food with an unforgettable view. Highly recommended!

This might just be my favorite meal in the entire world. As someone who is well-traveled, I don't give that honor lightly. I've gone out of my way to make a day trip into Paris from other European countries just to eat this meal: A caesar salad to start, the roasted scallops for the main course, and a crème brûlée for dessert. The food is simple, delicious, and technically flawless. 10/10
Foodie Adventurer★★★★☆
Overall, we had a fine experience. The service was good, and the staff were polite and attentive throughout our meal. One small downside was that heavy silverware was dropped onto the wooden floor several times during service. The loud clatter was quite startling and made the atmosphere feel a bit stressful at moments.
The hot chocolate is every bit as good as the reviews say and was the perfect sugar boost after six hours of walking through the Louvre. A word of warning: it’s incredibly rich and decadent without being overly sweet. We shared one order, and it was the perfect amount for the two of us.
As for the food, the orecchiette with Bolognese was the highlight of the meal. It was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I’d happily order it again.
The Caesar salad, however, was disappointing. The meat on top looked unusual and was difficult to identify. It didn’t taste or resemble either chicken or anchovies, leaving us unsure of what we were eating and making the dish feel off. Unfortunately, it’s not something I would recommend.

The pizza was great, so was the onion soup. The steak and salmon were good with sauce on the side. The service was good, and we liked the options. It had good vibes. A wow experience to have dinner here.
My niece choosed the restaurant because of the inviting decoration. After looking to the menu we both found food we like. My salmon salad with avocado was extraordinary, the service warm and wonderful. For us it was a perfect ending of a beautiful day in Paris.

Wonderful experience at Café Saint Honoré near the Louvre! 🇫🇷✨
I had an excellent fresh salad 🥗 with warm fried burrata, avocado 🥑, strawberries 🍓, and pine nuts. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and beautifully prepared. The dessert and tea were also wonderful and made the visit especially relaxing. 🍰🍵
The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Even though the location is extremely touristic, right in the epicenter of Paris near the Louvre, the cafe still keeps a warm local atmosphere and authentic cuisine. A very pleasant place to rest, enjoy good food, and experience a kinder side of central Paris. Highly recommended! 😊

Momo , Meryem , and Chef Luciano made our first day in Paris and our first meal here the most delicious and over the top meal and and amazing experience we have ever had! We dined with our 91 year old Yiayia and our 3 kids so every meal is salt free and complicated with many opinions. The Chef came out himself and suggested a salt free meal he created off the menu for our Yiayia. She said she thought she died and went to heaven it was so good! The nicest people we have ever met!! Could not have been more kind and so generous. We were treated with Croquettes and Macaroons on the house and we smiled so much that our cheeks hurt! We can’t wait to come back tomorrow!! 100 out of 10 would recommend!! Thank you all so much!!!❤️

🌸 Café Saint-Honoré – A magical Paris find just off the Louvre ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We stumbled across this place just off the Louvre Museum after a long morning exploring and a bus tour, with tired legs and two hungry kids… and honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect.
✨ First Impressions
From the outside, it almost looks like a bit of a tourist trap with all the flowers, pastel colours, and teddy bears… but don’t let that fool you. Step inside and it transforms into a beautiful, relaxing, and genuinely welcoming space.
🌺 Atmosphere & Decor
Stunning floral ceiling and soft lighting
Subtle background music that helps you unwind
A lovely buzz from other families and diners
Felt like a proper Parisian moment, not rushed at all
There was even a birthday celebration happening next to us, complete with singing, a sparkler, and cake – which looked like it was provided by the restaurant. A really nice touch.
🍽️ Food & Drinks
Everything we ordered was spot on:
🧀 Goat’s cheese salad – fresh and full of flavour
🍗 Chicken dish – really well cooked and satisfying
🥩 Steak & chips – devoured and thoroughly enjoyed
🍺 IPA beer – incredibly refreshing after a warm day walking around Paris
They even let me sample a few beers before choosing, which was a great touch. They also brew their own “Teddy Beer” – not quite to my taste, but a fun option to try.
👨👩👧👦 Family Friendly
This is where it really stood out:
Kids’ meals were around €12 and included main, drink, and dessert
Dessert options included ice cream or a Nutella crepe (huge hit!)
Staff were warm, patient, and great with children
🎁 Little Extras That Made It Special
As we were leaving, they surprised us with four free macarons – a small gesture, but genuinely appreciated (and easily worth close to €10 in Paris!).
🚻 Facilities
Even the toilets were beautifully decorated, especially the ladies’. The men’s setup was a bit unclear (no obvious urinal), but not a deal-breaker in the slightest.
⭐ Final Verdict
A place that looks Instagrammable but delivers far more than that – great food, fair prices, genuinely friendly service, and a relaxed, memorable atmosphere.
If you’re near the Louvre and need a break, this is a fantastic spot for families or couples alike.
Highly recommended – an easy 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great food, with quick friendly service. All the food and drink we ordered here were very good.
The Crazy BeneAddict was delicious with perfectly poached eggs and sauce, with a fresh and flakey crossiant that paired really well with everything. The Miss Tatin French toast was sweet and savoury but maybe a bit too heavy for an early morning breakfast dish.
The yogurt and macchiato were also done really well, and the ice tea was delicious.
Just a note that their location is undergoing renovation until mid Aug 2026 so they have temporarily relocated to another spot just across street and slightly further north. This location is comfortably sized with nice decor.

I had breakfast here every morning during my stay in Paris, and it quickly became one of the highlights of my trip. The bread was always fresh, the muffins were served warm, and everything was absolutely delicious.
It’s such a pretty place, with a lovely, welcoming atmosphere that made each morning feel special. The perfect way to start the day in Paris.
Travel Bites★★★★☆
Lovely breakfast spot in Paris with plenty of healthy, vegetarian and gluten-free options. We tried the avocado toast, greek yogurt with homemade granola, and the crazy beneaddict, everything was really tasty and fresh. The only downside is that the restaurant is very tiny. We were 5 people and had to sit packed next to each other, so we left right after finishing our breakfast.

I visit for breakfast and brunch, very good food
I liked the scrambled egg with mushroom and spinach.
pancake is fluffy and delicious.
Excellent Coffee.
It’s a small place usually full of people. However the waiting time is decent I tried it twice waiting time is less than 10 minutes especially for couples and small groups.

I had a wonderful time at this charming café! The drinks were absolutely delightful—the Hot Chocolate was rich and decadent, and the barista did a stunning job with the latte art. The Americano was hands down the best I've had in days; it was incredibly smooth, with a perfectly balanced flavor that was neither bitter on the palate nor in the aftertaste.
• Crazy BeneAddict 🥐
◦ Description: Thin slices of smoked salmon, 2 poached eggs, and Benedict sauce, garnished with dill.
◦ Review: This was delicious! The combination of flavors was spot on, and the portion was very satisfying for one person.
• The Brouillade 🍳
◦ Description: 3 farm-fresh scrambled eggs, pan-fried halloumi, sautéed spinach & roasted mushrooms, homemade pesto, served with a baguette.
◦ Review: This dish was a winner! The scrambled eggs were incredibly generous (I couldn't finish them all!), and the halloumi added a lovely salty touch. The complimentary baguette was perfect for soaking up the flavors. I would love a bit more bread next time to enjoy every last bite!
I will definitely be coming back for more!

Great lunch spot with excellent staff. Very English-friendly, welcoming, and accommodating with children, which made ordering easy and comfortable. The smoothie and cappuccino were both excellent. The menu worked well for a mixed lunch, with breakfast options, kid-friendly food, and lighter choices.
The food was fresh and presented nicely. The breakfast plate, fries, and drinks were all solid, and the portions were good. The only small note is that the crepe was a bit tougher than expected, but overall it was still a good meal with strong service and a comfortable atmosphere.
A Girl Who Enjoys To Share★★★☆☆
Too much sweetness in the drinks event though we asked to pay more attention to the quantity of sugar added, the pâtisserie tasted like it was from a week ago. The prices are high for the location near to les tuileries but the food doesn't deserve it.
If there's one thing positive is the café gourmand was not bad after all.
If you like a quite place for a quality time/discussion, that's not the right place for you.

If you’re exploring the heart of Paris and looking for a charming café to relax, Le Carrousel is a wonderful spot to stop by. Tucked conveniently near the city center, it perfectly captures that classic Parisian café atmosphere.
What truly makes this place stand out is the outdoor seating. On sunny days, sitting at one of their tables outside is simply amazing — the ambiance, the light, and the gentle buzz of the city create a beautiful and relaxing experience. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and you can just enjoy your coffee while watching life pass by.
The service is friendly, and the overall vibe feels authentic and welcoming. Whether you’re taking a break from sightseeing or meeting friends, Le Carrousel offers a lovely slice of Parisian life.
Highly recommended, especially when the sun is out! ☀️

Absolutely loved our meal here!! The cafe was clean and neat and the toilets downstairs were spacious and spotless!! The waiter had charisma and the view wonderful. A beautiful Paris experience!

Arrived by chance Sunday lunchtime, was seating quickly with no waiting.
The place was well staffed with efficient waiters. The place was very busy but that didn't delay any service.
We had the croque monsieur, which was nice if not a bit dry.
Food price is reasonable for location and Paris, I thought the drinks were a bit high.
Overall a good place to stop and eat

First time in Paris and this was one of the first restaurants I visited while walking around. The Server was great and attentive. The food was great. I had the escargo, red wine and chocolate crepe. Everything was prepared well and very flavorful. Nice spot to eat and people watch. The area is around many museums and Riverwalk area for exploration. When I come back to Paris this is definitely a must

Had a lovely experience at Crêperie Parisienne in Paris 🇫🇷✨
The savoury galette was delicious — crispy on the outside, soft inside, and topped with a perfectly cooked sunny-side-up egg. Simple ingredients but full of comforting flavour, especially paired with the fresh salad on the side.
The sweet crêpe with chocolate drizzle was the perfect ending to the meal. Light, thin, buttery, and not overly sweet — classic French crêpe done right! 🍫🥞
Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and a great place to enjoy authentic Parisian crêpes near the city centre. Perfect for both brunch and dessert lovers. Highly recommended when visiting Paris!

Tourist trap! They let you pay for the view not for the food!
The food is good, but very expensive for what it is! €9 for Coca-Cola is not Paris price!
The service is perfect, and the staff is nice. I think the cook is lazy.. 😂

This was my first meal in Paris and it was fantastic. The croissants were so flaky and buttery, nothing like I have ever had. The waiters were super and so friendly.

Genuinely one of the worst places I’ve been in.
We spent over €120 altogether in this place on luggage storage and also the food + drinks.
We came back around 4pm, place was completely empty. We were the only people inside. I wanted to get our chargers and grab a coffee while we waited for a taxi.
I ordered a single cappuccino (€7.50 btw, lol) and the waiter says to us “Just 1 cappuccino” with a look of utter disgust and disbelief on his face… mind you, the most place was completely empty and we’d already been earlier in the day.
I tried to explain that to him, and he just keeps saying “not possible, not possible” in a really rude manner. Took our menus away and tried to walk off. I got his attention, showed him that we’d spent over €110 at this point in the place.
I asked for his name, and he started saying “don’t worry, I will get you a cappuccino”.
I spoke to the manager, he was apologetic but tried to say “when the place is busy, it is not possible…” he did acknowledge it was quiet today. I said to him “Is this a quiet day then?” and he laughed and apologised. (Pictures attached, we were the only people sitting inside)
They still charged us for the cappuccino of course, lol.
€9 euro for a coke too just as a heads up.
Go to ANY other cafe. Luggage storage available next door too, without the attitude.

You will be missing out if you don’t eat here. The 6 gentlemen work like clockwork, knowing what the other is thinking. Efficient, friendly, small establishment that’s big on taste, value, and team work. The New York sandwich is great sandwich that starts with a nice crunch of the French baguette. The crepes are exceptionally large and loaded, and packed with flavour and freshness. This is a bucket list restaurant for lunch that’s outstanding value. My kids loved the food. You guys are brilliant, thank you.

Happy Café was such a fun stop for us—definitely one we’ll remember!
We ordered two Nutella crepes, a Kinder Bueno crepe, a Nutella crepe with pistachio ice cream, and a marshmallow-topped donut, and everything was delicious. The crepes were warm, soft, and generously filled (we clearly couldn’t get enough of the Nutella 😄). The Kinder Bueno crepe was super indulgent and perfect for chocolate lovers, and the Nutella crepe with pistachio ice cream was a great combo—rich, creamy, and a little different. The donut topped with marshmallows was also a fun, sweet treat.
But by far, the highlight was the owner. He was absolutely hilarious and created such a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. He made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived, which really made the whole experience stand out.
Great desserts, amazing vibes, and an owner who truly makes the place special—we’d definitely come back!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Milkshakes and coffee in opposite big wheel. Paris – Bon Appétit!
If you’re looking for one of the best milkshakes in Paris, this place is a must-visit! The milkshakes are incredibly rich, creamy, and perfectly blended with high-quality ingredients. Every sip is packed with flavor, and the presentation is just as impressive as the taste.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Whether you’re craving a classic chocolate shake or something more indulgent, you won’t be disappointed.
Highly recommended for anyone with a sweet tooth. Bon appétit!

Happy Café definitely lives up to its name. The people here are genuinely kind, friendly, and seem to enjoy what they do. The menu has plenty of great options, and everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. You can really see why it’s called Happy Café. It’s not just the food, it’s the people. We’d happily come back the next time we’re in Paris.
One small thing that really stood out: one of our orders was taking a little longer than expected, and since it was such a hot day, the staff brought us complimentary lemon drinks while we waited to make sure we stayed hydrated. It’s little gestures like that which turn a good meal into a memorable experience.

After visiting the Louvre, we were looking for something small to eat. Le Café Blanc looked cozy, and we grabbed a table on the terrace, which turned out to be the perfect spot to relax and watch the world go by.
The food and wine were delicious, but two things really made the experience: the lady who served us and the mille-feuille with strawberries and vanilla cream.
It was busy and clearly a lot of work for the staff, but despite that we were helped quickly and with so much warmth. The woman serving us took the time, even in the middle of the rush, to check in with us in a personal and cheerful way, sometimes just a quick thumbs up to see if everything was to our liking.
As an owner, you can count yourself lucky to have someone like her on your team.
And the mille-feuille? The best we've ever had. Words really don't do it justice, so go try it for yourself.

Cafe Blanc possesses the quality of a neighborhood bistrot in one of the most highly trafficked tourist districts in Paris, which is a feat unto itself! The pasta was great, the duck confit was tender and crispy, and the cakes were delicious. We loved every dish and had a wonderful dining experience. Overall, highly recommended!

Caffe Concerto at the Louvre is amazing!! Real food and delicious desserts. Shristi and Camil were very nice servers. They were very attentive and polite. Highly recommend!

Waiter was rude and claimed not to speak or understand English when it suited him. He asked if we wanted the dessert together with main course. We told him to serve after the main course but he brought it in the midst of our main course. When I asked him to bring it later, he said Cest pas possible and made a cross hand action. The cocktail was overly sweet, I had to add water from own water bottle. The cod fish and chips tasted like frozen, hard and dry. The crepe with raspberries, banana & Nutella tasted ordinary.
If not for the nice decor outside, we would not have eaten there! Overpriced for lousy food & service and I refused to tip!

Beautiful Setting but Extremely Poor Service and Slow Experience
Reservation & Arrival:
We visited Caffe Concerto Paris after finishing our tour of the Louvre. Finding a table was easy, and the initial greeting was friendly and professional. Seating was comfortable and well-spaced, offering a good view of the surroundings and a pleasant atmosphere to begin with.
Ambience & Cleanliness:
The restaurant was clean, bright, and beautifully maintained. The lighting and temperature were pleasant, and the interior design matched the elegant café theme well — stylish and refined, making it a charming place to sit and relax after sightseeing.
Service Quality:
Unfortunately, the service was terrible. Staff were inattentive, forgetful, and disorganized. We had to repeat our orders multiple times, and several mistakes occurred before the correct dishes arrived. The service was extremely slow, with long gaps between courses, as if the staff were completely overwhelmed or distracted. There was no sense of coordination, and they seemed indifferent to guests’ time or experience.
Food Presentation & Taste:
The food itself was average overall.
• The grilled chicken was decent but not remarkable.
• The two pasta dishes were also average, lacking any memorable flavor or refinement.
• The desserts, however, stood out — the Paris-Brest was excellent, and the macarons were good, offering a satisfying end to an otherwise frustrating meal. Presentation across all dishes was elegant and polished, even if taste did not match appearance.
Beverage Experience:
The beverage menu was varied enough, and the drinks themselves were fine. However, water and refreshments were served late, and even something as simple as an extra Coke took over 15 minutes to arrive — only after reminding three different waiters. This inconsistency in service made the experience far less enjoyable.
Value & Price:
While the food and ambience justified the pricing, the service completely ruined the experience. There were no billing errors, but given the delays and poor attentiveness, the visit was not worth the cost.
Overall:
Caffe Concerto Paris offers a beautiful setting with good desserts, but the service is extremely poor, making it impossible to recommend. Despite the appealing location and nice presentation, the experience was stressful and disappointing due to slow, careless staff.

Great location if you’re queuing for the Louvre on a timed entry, plenty time to pop in for a drink and a snack. Excellent staff. The food was great and well presented and seemed so much better than the ones in the Uk.

Café Le Louvre is a fantastic place to enjoy a meal or a coffee in the heart of Paris. The location is excellent, with a classic Parisian atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. The food is fresh and delicious, the coffee is excellent, and the service is warm, attentive, and professional. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or just a relaxing drink, it's a wonderful spot to experience the charm of Paris. Highly recommended.

The food was very good, and both the exterior and interior of the cafe was nice and clean. Staff was nice and welcoming. Price is a little high, but very good food. There was menu for lunch set too

Today I tried Café de Louve and it was fantastic. As a solo traveler, I was a bit nervous dining alone, but the staff greeted me warmly as soon as I arrived. I was seated right away, given time to choose from the quaint menu, and my food arrived quickly and tasted delicious.
The staff were friendly and well-spoken, and the prices were amazing considering the café is so close to the Louvre. I ordered the Petit-Déj Plus (photo included), which also came with a butter croissant. Everything was fresh, tasty, and generously portioned. I’d definitely recommend this spot.

Great dining experience at Café du Louvre! The salmon was perfectly cooked, the onion soup was rich and flavorful, and the ravioli pasta was absolutely delicious. The food quality was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely.

We stopped in for a drink, and sat out the front. Perfect spot to sit and soak in the atmosphere. Lovely staff - really good interaction with a young male server who encouraged us to try the XXL snails, and was pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend.

€15–16 for a dessert, €20–25 for a meal, €7–8 for a chai latte. Good brunch options and a drink+dessert combo deal.
The only thing - the tables have a ~50cm gap, so you could end up listening to someone's lunch talk against your will.
The desserts were cooked in front of us by a chef. The pasta was fresh and tasty.
Clean tables, friendly and professional service.
Can recommend!

This place is absolutely gorgeous, especially if you can get seats near the window overlooking the Louvre’s iconic glass pyramid.
When we got there, lunch hours had just ended, so we could only get dessert (16–17 euros each) and drinks. We ordered two desserts, a glass of champagne (16 euros per glass), and an orange juice (7.5 euros). I’ll admit that’s higher than I’d pay in Toronto, but the setting, atmosphere, and vacation feel justified the price for me. By the way, I loved both desserts a lot!

Stopped by Angelina Louvre and had a lovely experience! The place has a classic elegant vibe and feels like a perfect little break while exploring the Louvre.
The desserts are absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, and their famous hot chocolate is rich and indulgent. A great spot to relax, recharge, and enjoy a sweet treat in between museum visits. Definitely worth it! 🍫✨

Cafe inside the Louvre. Which makes it makes it expensive. 7 euro for a water and 7,5 for a coffee.
The cappuccino was terrible, more like a bit of foam on a cafe latte.
I would recommend the soft drinks. Or a glass of wine. If you get a table at the window, you have a great view.

The mount blanc dessert was pretty much flavourless and for sure not worth almost 11€. We really enjoyed the hot chocolaté which was not too sweet. We recommend sharing one chocolate pot as it was enough for both of us. The waiter was really welcoming but we waited about 20 minutes to be seated. The cafe closes really early(16:45) and the kitchen closes 30 minutes before that. Even though we entered the cafe at 16:25, we exited at around 17:00, but they stopped letting people in before that and just let us finish our choc. The interior was really enjoyable, but the tables are really close to each other.
Tips for Enjoying Cafés Near the Louvre
Navigating the café scene in a high-traffic tourist zone requires a bit of local savvy. To ensure you have the most relaxing and authentic experience possible, keep the following practical advice in mind when visiting the establishments listed above. These tips will help you blend in, save money, and secure the best seats in the house.
Avoid Peak Lunch Hours
The cafés closest to the Rue de Rivoli fill up rapidly between 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM with local office workers and tour groups. If you want a quiet, aesthetic experience, visit around 10:00 AM or after 3:00 PM. You will have a better chance of getting a window seat or a spot on the terrace.
Order at the Bar vs. Table
In many Parisian cafés, the price of a coffee differs depending on where you consume it. Standing at the zinc bar (le comptoir) is often significantly cheaper than sitting at a table (la salle) or on the terrace (la terrasse). If you are on a budget and just need a quick espresso fix, take it standing up like a local.
Look for the "Formule"
Many of the more traditional and modern cafés offer a "formule" or set menu during the morning and afternoon. This usually includes a hot drink, a fresh juice, and a pastry for a bundled price. It is often the most economical way to sample the patisserie without breaking the bank.
Be Prepared for "Service Continu"
Unlike some cities where kitchens close between lunch and dinner, many cafés near the Louvre offer "service continu." This means you can order a full meal or a pastry at 4:00 PM without any issues. It is a lifesaver for travelers dealing with jet lag who want to eat on a non-standard schedule.
Ask for "Une Carafe d’Eau"
Hydration is key when walking the Louvre’s endless galleries. You are legally entitled to free tap water at any French café or restaurant. Simply ask for "une carafe d’eau" (a pitcher of water) with your coffee. It is complimentary, safe to drink, and saves you from buying expensive bottled water.
Mind Your Belongings
These cafés are located in the most touristic district of Paris, making them prime spots for petty theft. Never hang your purse or camera bag on the back of your chair. Keep your phone off the table when not in use, and keep your wallet in a front pocket or a zipped bag on your lap.
As the afternoon light fades and the crowds begin to thin, you will find that the streets surrounding the Louvre take on a softer, more romantic character. Choosing a café here is not just about refueling; it is about participating in a cultural legacy that has fueled philosophers, writers, and artists for generations. Whether you opt for a minimalist flat white or a decadent hot chocolate topped with whipped cream, you are tasting a piece of Parisian life.
Take your time, watch the world go by, and let the aesthetic of these spaces inspire you. The Louvre is a monument to human creativity, and the cafés surrounding it are a testament to the art of living well. Bon appétit, and enjoy every sip.
