17 Best Tourist Attractions in Benidorm

Benidorm has long outgrown its reputation as a simple package-holiday destination. Today, this stretch of the Costa Blanca offers a surprisingly diverse mix of natural wonders, cultural landmarks, and family-friendly entertainment that appeals to far more than the traditional sun-seeker. From the moment you arrive, the skyline of striking towers backed by rugged mountains signals that this is a place where urban energy and Mediterranean charm coexist. Understanding the sheer variety of experiences available is the first step to planning a trip that goes beyond the beach towel.

For travelers who assume Benidorm is all about high-rise hotels and nightlife, the surrounding landscape often comes as a revelation. The city is framed by the Serra Gelada Natural Park to the east and the impressive Puig Campana mountain to the north. This unique geography means you can spend your morning hiking along dramatic cliff edges, your afternoon swimming in a secluded cove, and your evening enjoying world-class gastronomy. It is this balance between the built environment and the raw beauty of the Alicante province that makes the area so compelling.

Families, in particular, will find that Benidorm is engineered for convenience and entertainment. The infrastructure is designed to be walkable, with wide promenades, accessible beaches, and attractions that cater specifically to younger visitors. Whether you are navigating a stroller along the Levante promenade or looking for a theme park that can keep teenagers engaged, the city prioritizes ease of access. This focus on stress-free tourism is one of the key reasons multi-generational groups return year after year.

Of course, the beaches remain the primary draw for millions of visitors. Benidorm boasts two of the most famous stretches of sand in Spain, each with its own distinct personality. The golden arcs are meticulously maintained, offering calm waters and a full suite of amenities just steps from the urban center. However, to limit your visit to the main beaches is to miss the hidden coves and crystal-clear waters that lie just a short boat ride or hike away.

Beyond the coastline, Benidorm has invested heavily in cultural and historical preservation. The Old Town, with its narrow cobbled streets and blue-domed church, offers a stark and welcome contrast to the modern avenues of the business district. Here, you can experience traditional tapas bars, local markets, and viewpoints that have been used by fishermen and sailors for centuries. This blend of the historic and the contemporary gives the city a depth that is often overlooked in travel brochures.

Planning an itinerary requires a strategic approach because the attractions are spread across different zones. You can divide your time between the eastern beaches, the western coves, and the mountainous interior. Knowing which attractions are outdoors, which require advance tickets, and which are best visited at sunset will significantly enhance the quality of your stay. The best experiences are often those that allow you to see the city from a different perspective, whether that is from the water, the sky, or a mountain peak.

To help you make the most of your time on the Costa Blanca, we have curated a list of essential locations that showcase the very best of the region. These selections are designed to offer a mix of adventure, relaxation, and cultural immersion suitable for all types of travelers. By weaving these attractions into your schedule, you will leave with a comprehensive understanding of why Benidorm remains one of Spain’s most resilient and beloved coastal cities.

The best zoo/animal park I’ve ever visited. The shows are fun, interactive and really engaging. The park is easy to get around. If you sit near the front at the shows, you’ll often get the chance to touch some of the animals. Being able to bring your own food is a great bonus too. Highly recommend!
Inessa Bondareva★★★★★
Absolutely loved the experience. Definitely can recommend for the whole day walk with a child. There's plenty to see and to do. There's enough shade not to feel too hot. There's a restaurant too and a playground. The shows are great and teach about wildlife protection.
Louise Edkins★★★★★
Had being before but without the children. This place is so lovely and all the shows are unmissable. My children loved seeing the sea lions and the dolphins 🐬, we also enjoyed all the other animals it was well spent day out.
Jeroen Houtman★★★★★
Interesting animal park. Worth the visit. Animals are all well taken care of and have enough space. Although I am personally against dolphin shows I think this park takes really good care of the animals. A lot of shade in the park so I assume also nice in summer. I especially enjoyed the decorations and plants.
Robin Hegge★★★★★
Awesome! Many cool animals and interesting species! The food is not too expensive and very delicious. I have seen reviews complaining that photos with animals costs too much and i agree with that. Taking photos are free but to get them you have to pay €10 for one, €15 for two. You can take photos with dolphins (have to order online beforehand) lemurs (only for kids) parrots, sealions and other birds or animals, all depending on the program for the day. Fun experience!

An Inspiring Journey to the Most Breathtaking View in Benidorm! Visiting La Cruz de Benidorm is much more than just reaching a viewpoint—it feels like an inspiring journey that rewards you with the absolute best panorama on the Costa Blanca. Perched high up in the Serra Gelada Natural Park, this iconic monument stands like a silent guardian over the city, offering a view that will truly take your breath away. The contrast you experience from the top is magical. On one side, you look down upon the massive, bustling skyscraper skyline and the endless golden curve of Levante Beach. On the other side, you are surrounded by the raw, quiet, and untouched beauty of rugged Mediterranean nature and deep blue waters. Standing beneath the giant cross makes you feel incredibly small, yet deeply connected to the landscape. While you can reach it by car, hiking up from the end of Levante Beach is an unforgettable experience. The walk is challenging and will get your heart pumping, but watching the city shrink below you with every step is incredibly motivating. Reaching the summit at either sunrise or sunset is pure perfection, as the sky turns into a canvas of pink and gold. It is a peaceful, spiritual, and rewarding place that shows you a completely different, majestic side of Benidorm. A must-visit for your soul!

Don't believe what you hear. The place in clean and full of life. Some to much to look at, but that's what makes the place fun. Us Brits aren't the best advert for Beni! But it's a great vibe and there is plenty of places to visit in and around the area. Go out and find them and you'll find some gems. I love the place and will visit often. The pic are of places you can get very easily from Beni.
Stephen Yathindran★★★★★
This is a great place to visit with great views over Benidorm. It's about a 30-40 minute walk uphill from the beach on a quiet road with only the last 100 metres or so is over a rough path. Some people drive or get a taxi up but it's we worth tackling the uphill walk as the views you will get will be rewarding. Bring water and snacks with you as there are no facilities when you get there.
Sarah Banks★★★★★
Amazing views from up at the cross, make sure you take water and go to the toilet before hand as no where to go or get water from. It's a very steep road up to the cross and then the last bit it a very uneven path not suitable for prams or wheelchairs bikes etc. when you get to the top the view's are amazing 😍. Google maps said it takes 1hr 6mins from our hotel but it didn't it took about 2hours up and then less time back down as much easier walking down the hill. You can get a taxi up to the top of the road for €10 if U want to go up without walking.
VoodooToad★★★★★
Nice walk up hill to see some incredible views of the Benidorm skyline. We walked up as a family in the evening to see the lights. Highly recommend a walk up. The views are beautiful. It’s a public landmark with no charge for entry.

Gorgeous promenade: The Levante boardwalk area is very lovely and great for walks.Excellent beach: The beach looks great, wide, and is well-maintained.Nice water: The sea is beautiful, clean, and perfectly fine.⚠️ Beware of Indian Shops (The Downsides)No prices listed: Products in the local Indian shops do not have price tags.Risk of getting ripped off: Shopkeepers tend to cheat tourists or overcharge at checkout.Recommendation: Always ask for the price beforehand or avoid these shops completely.

We entered the beach and when you enter it can sometimes be fully packed or quiet when we went there it was fully packed so we took around 5 to 10 minutes to find some sun lounges and we found some we sat down for around 30 minutes and went into the sea the sea is quite clean so that’s good. We came back and we exchange tickets with someone so we could get them runner apparently you’re not allowed to exchange tickets I thought it was a quiet letdown. We were given a bit of attitude as we were speaking quite politely when we were leaving since we got sand on our feet there’s a place to wash your shoes and the sand off your feet which is right by the exit which is quite good

Benidorm, a great place for a cheap getaway. Bars and restaurants along the seafront, the whole place is full with high rise hotels and you will definitely meet a stag or hen party whatever time of year you go. Can be roudy due to the large groups of drinkers.

Beautifull walk along the beach this morning. Lovely and clean stunning views and plenty bars and cafes to stop of at for refreshments.

A real oasis. Lots of pleasant places to sit, family vibe and a bit of grandeur in the marble path. Worth a stroll.

A lovely walk went via through town hall from the placa triangular. Went past the auditoriums saw the bust of julio inglesis and on to the redundant bullring there was public conviences in both the town hall and the parc overall a great walk.

Nice municipal park, some tranquillity, and good in the mix of the filth and debortuary of Benidorm. If you want to chill for a bit from the moras of noise this could be the place. Unfortunately some bits of graffiti biutc the feel of the whole place is good.

Went there Monday (20th July first thing) to kick start our holiday. It was amazing! Plenty to do and see for all ages. The scenery is absolutely superb. The only down side, which is why I have given 4 stars, is that although the park is open at 10.30am, all the rides have staggered opening times from 10.30/11.30 and midday. For being high season, the queues werent bad at all. Titanide and Inferno are worth going on 😉
Hayley★★★★☆
Initially I had low expectations given some of the reviews but we gave it a go and so glad we did. They have clearly put a lot of money into the aesthetics of the place its beautifully done, there were no ques for any of the rides which is every theme park junkies dream. They could do with some more big rides, this was the only thing that let them down. The live shows were actually bloody fantastic amazing costumes and theatres, they where so well done!! We watched 2 in the end and this something we normally skip but glad we didn't. We thought we would be finished by 5 ish arrived at 1130 but stayed until the park closed as we found the water park and it was too fun to leave early. The music was pumping the slides where great fun and it was so nice to cool off after the heat of the day. I couldn't believe how quiet the place was and that was such a shame as they deserve more popularity for the clear effort and money invested. I guess its back to the fact the its not cheap to enter and they need multiple intense rides. Would come back and recommend to others. P.s you can take a picnic but leave in the car you can come and go into the park just can't take food in. Car park is close.
Ryan Dix★★★★★
We stayed at the four points hotel which gives you free access to the theme park. The park is really big with lots of rides and shows for all the family. And also water splash zones to cool everyone down.
Vilius Lam★★★★☆
Pretty nice theme park — we visited on the season opening day, so it wasn’t too crowded. In some areas, it already feels a bit dated and could use some renovation. The events and shows were definitely a highlight. The Egyptian-themed area is especially well designed.
Meli★★★★☆
Overall we really enjoyed our day here, the park theming is excellent, and I like the mix of water based and thrill rides. I do feel however some of the rides need updating, and also that the ticket price is a little extortionate considering the smaller amount of thrill rides avilable compared to some theme parks elsewhere that charge the same/less.

This stunning tiny bay tucked away from the maddening crowds of Benidorm is the perfect spot to grab a little quiet time. Its well worth the walk.
Cavedog uk★★★★★
We fed the feral cats at the top of the road, had the beach to ourselves because it was a dreary day. We witnessed a family of wild quail running allong the beach, and ballanced some stones stacks. Noticed a handy portaloo and bins located on this beach. However, this beach is a also a designated nudist spot.
CJ★★★★☆
Nice small lagoon/ beach. Water was clean. Accessible by car as there is a road all the way to the water and cars can turn around at the end. Cars parked along the street. The shore is mostly rocky, and the beach/water part is sandy. There was one british homeless guy living on the top left side, in a cave, throwing rocks at some tourists.
Victor★★★★★
If you avoid the summer crowded season, this corner of the Mediterranean is superb. Crystal clear water, sea life and calm. There is no sand so avoid if you are looking for a beach to sunbathing. If equipped withe the proper shoes there is the possibility to take a brief walk over the rocks to find out plants and animals
C★★★★★
Beautiful secluded little cala, enough sand to spread your towel and relax away from the hustle and bustle of Benidorm. We came on a sunny winter day in December and almost had the whole beach to ourselves (my golden retriever even went for a swim!)

Fantastic trip to Benidorm Island. Great for kids. Not to far a hike to top of it for fantastic views. Great spot at cafe for a dip in the sea and great for a spot of lunch amd a slush. That good done it 2 days in a row just to have a nice swim at the pier. Staff were all brilliant.
Katelyn★☆☆☆☆
Service is shocking. The staff were very rude. Paid €60 for pictures to be taken whilst parasailing. Never received them despite asking multiple times. I’m convinced they never took pictures to begin with. Don’t waste your time or money.
liam yates★★☆☆☆
We decided to try the the jet skiing today and were hugely dissapointed and annoyed with the expereince. Our instructor / guide was far too far ahead to keep it safe (told us 60m safest distancr he was atleast 300m plus ahead if us). The jet ski was so underpowered and was losing against the current to the point the jet ski went over and no help was in sight another company or staff member had to radio to get him to come back so we could get going again. Our friends also went flying off and were struggling due to the jet ski actually capsizing, again the instructor no where to be seen. We called time in it early as it didnt feel safe and the instructor seemed more interested in trying to joke along and keep us going and we had to say 3 times no we want to go back it was not a good experience at all. The only saving grace of the whole thing was the manager back on land was very apologetic and gave us the money back for the parasailing which we were put off doing due to the bad experience on the jet skis. So thanks to the manager and the friendly land staff for that but definitely not the experience day we were hoping for (not at the price charged)
Mir Abdul Rehman★★★★☆
This place is amazing and beautiful. A quiet but busy markets and has quite a peaceful beach site.
Mihhail Klimenko★☆☆☆☆
We were told that the route would take us to a waterfall, but we were taken to a completely different and rather boring place. We asked several times where we were going, and later asked why we were not going to the waterfall as promised. The only explanation we received was something about “waves”, which did not make the situation clear. This was very disappointing, because the trip did not match what was promised and the communication was poor.

Oh my goodness! Absolutely amazing! We will be coming back here every year. I can’t fault any of it. The amount of different animals, all in clean enclosures, and look well cared for is great. We particularly enjoyed the area with the snakes, frogs and spiders and the bird area where you can walk through the home of multiple different birds who are just roaming free around you!
Vladimirs Ivanovs★★★★★
One of the best parks I've ever seen - plenty of space for animals, very good show schedule - we just followed one of the show guides through the park, from one place to another. Taxi from Benedorm tram station is affordable ~8eur, train L1 from Alicante gets you there in ~1h. Used Groupon discount to get tickets for 28€ per person.

We visited as part of our stay at the Magic Natura Resort, and overall it made for a pleasant day out with the kids. There was plenty to see and do, and they really enjoyed getting up close to a wide variety of animals. That said, some of the larger and more active animals appeared quite subdued, with enclosures that felt a little small and dated. While it’s impossible to know how the animals are feeling, some areas gave the impression that they could benefit from more space and enrichment. The park itself is starting to look a little tired in places and would benefit from some investment, modernisation, and refurbishment. I’d also love to see a greater focus on conservation, rescue, and education, following the direction many modern wildlife parks and sanctuaries are taking. As part of the resort package, it was a worthwhile visit and a nice experience for families. However, I’m not sure I would purchase a separate ticket at the current price. With some updates and a stronger conservation focus, it could be an even better attraction.
Vi★★★★☆
Visited on a Friday so it was very busy, but I really enjoyed my experience! Ticket staff were helpful as i don’t speak spanish & I’m bad at directions. I wouldn’t say the tickets are “expensive” as you see loads of animals. There’s maps on each path, a timetable of the activities happening each day on their website displayed very clearly & signs for where things are. Very detailed information for each of the animals & a wide variety of drinks & food available. If you visit with children, stop them BANGING and SCREAMING on / at the glass of the animals enclosures as the signs tell you to do so. It disturbs the animals, so control your children or consider somewhere else. Had some concerns about a monkey banging its head repeatedly against the top part of its enclosure, for a while. A few of the animals appeared to have small enclosures without much room (maybe there was other sections for them?). I hope they’re well cared for as I’m sure they do their best for the animals.
OpalE★★★★★
Our 3rd visit and it didn't disappoint. A must if you visit Benidorm. The animals are displayed working within spacious enclosures which have been well thought through... Would be visiting again when we next come to Beni

The observation deck offers absolutely stunning views. Especially at sunset, the city skyline is truly breathtaking and leaves a lasting impression. It can get quite crowded at that time, but the view is definitely worth the wait.

Absolutely beautiful place to visit with stunning sea views and a lovely atmosphere. Perfect spot for a family day out – we enjoyed a peaceful walk along the promenade and took some great photos. The area is clean, well-kept, and has plenty of places to sit and relax while taking in the scenery. Definitely worth visiting if you’re nearby!
aaaron.22.4★★★★★
Balcón del Mediterráneo is a beautiful viewpoint located between the old town and the two main beaches of Benidorm. It’s a relaxed place to stop and take in the view. The site was originally the location of a 16th-century fortress built to defend the coast from pirate attacks. Today it has been transformed into an open square and viewing terrace. Standing by the white railings, you get a wide panoramic view of the Mediterranean Sea and the beaches on both sides, and on clear days the color of the water is stunning. During the day, the coastline stretches out beautifully in front of you with a very open view. In the evening, the light becomes softer and it’s a great spot to watch the sunset. At night, when the city lights come on along the coast, the atmosphere changes again and feels completely different. Right behind the viewpoint is the charming Benidorm Old Town, with narrow streets full of restaurants, cafés, and small bars, making it a pleasant area to wander around. Getting there is easy—most places in the city center are within walking distance, and if you take a bus to the old town area it’s just a short walk from there. Overall, it’s not only a great photo spot but also a perfect place to sit for a while, enjoy the sea view, and slow down.
Iryna Shchukina★★★★★
A great viewpoint and a very atmospheric place. This is a historical site that is definitely worth visiting. From here you can enjoy a beautiful view of the city and the beach. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in Benidorm — you won’t regret it.

A fun time had by all. Lovely little fair with rides and trampolines/bouncy castle. Could do with more for older kids as our eldest got quite bored and the arcade is card only. Staff were all friendly and made sure kids were seated and safely strapped in ect. Easy location to find and lots of shops and restraunts near by.

It is a great place to spend an Evening with your kids or friends. No waiting for entry ,just fun. I recommend purchasing in a kiosk a certain € value card , and they double the value. Otherwise you will spend all money without a bonus on top of it. So we get a 30€ card and play for 60€. They have all sorts of arcade games , for all ages groups. There is a Bar on site and toilets as well. Nice one.

Great entertainment for the children with outside rides and arcades. Prices for the rides are €4 or they do deals €10 and you get €2 free on a card. Place is very clean as we arrived someone was mopping the outdoor with disinfectant. Easy to get too via public transport or taxi. Toilets are downstairs.

This spot has a ton of games! 🤩 I especially loved the basketball one, spent a bit too much there! The vibe is really awesome. You'll need to grab a card and load it up. Games are super affordable, just 1 to 2 euros. Definitely check out the place next door too! ✨🕹️

Fabulous Poniente. The longest Beach in Benidorm. There are many recreational areas along the length of the Poniente. Volley ball, Football nets etc. Foot showers. Im marking it down by 1 star simply because there are not enough public toilets along its length. I hope the Benidorm council read this and make more public toilets available along this very long beach.

This was a good experience on the beach. It's clean, not many people, the water is crystal clean, has free parking nearby. The downsides are: no showers or toilets and plenty of algae in the water.

Got on one of these buses today, which cost €16pp. €64 for our group of 4. Online it says that “all buses have audio guides”, so we thought it would be a cool way to get to know the city more. After paying (and boarding a very packed bus with barely any seats available), we realised there was no audio whatsoever. So we were essentially just stuck on a very packed bus that stopped for 10-20 minutes at each stop. Asked the driver (who was rude) and he just said it’s broken, wouldn’t offer any refund or other solution. Save your money and avoid.

Tour bus is basically normal bus for higher price, its not worth it, because all you see are high buildings, streets with nothing to see and if you see only park in Benidorm is better to walk there. You get slap by the trees if you sit in upper level and also the speakers are not working for 80% of the bus if not more. Is better to take city bus if you want to get to other beaches, or if you like to walk, just take a tour by the sea. Do not recommend the bus tour.

We were sat at the bus stop ready, when we seen the bus coming we got up stood at the edge of the pavement but the driver went straight past without looking. The next bus was about 50 minutes away and it was extremely hot in the beginning of July. We ended up getting Uber in the end.

Reasonable price €23 for two people for 24 hours . This was in October so not sure it’s the same at peak time . Able to use any bus in this time . Takes 1.5 hours to get around . Plenty of stops to get off . Disadvantages , seems like only one bus that’s goes around so if full they won’t let you on . Some of the tree need cutting back so watch out of your on the top deck , right hand side . Communication was on the bus in Spanish , French and English. No need for ear plugs . It was an enjoyable trip especially when you can get on the top deck in the sunshine.

Benidorm Town – Benidorm always strikes me as a city that lives day and night. The modern high-rises stand in stark contrast to the traditional alleyways of the old town, creating an energetic, colorful atmosphere. With each visit, I feel like I can discover something new – be it a beautiful viewpoint, the long promenades, or small, hidden restaurants in the side streets. It's a place where you quickly get into a holiday mood and enjoy the lively coastal atmosphere. The sandy beach is fantastic, and among the main attractions are the ruins of the castle with its beautiful viewpoint. We traveled for over an hour by tram from Alicante.

Tips for Visiting Benidorm

While Benidorm is famously easy to navigate, a little local knowledge can dramatically improve the quality of your visit. The city operates on a rhythm that shifts between the quiet morning hours and the vibrant late evenings. By understanding how to move around, when to book, and how to save money, you can avoid the common pitfalls that sometimes catch first-time visitors off guard. Here are some practical strategies to ensure your experience is as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Use the Local Buses and Trams
While walking is great for the promenades, the heat can be intense in July and August. The urban bus system is cheap, air-conditioned, and reliable, connecting the main beaches to the theme parks and the Old Town. For trips further afield, such as to Altea or Alicante, the modern tram system offers a scenic and affordable alternative to renting a car.

Book Attraction Tickets Online
The major theme parks, such as Terra Mítica and Mundomar, often have dynamic pricing. Purchasing tickets online a few days in advance is almost always cheaper than buying at the gate. Additionally, look for "combo" tickets if you plan to visit more than one park, as these can save a significant amount of money for families.

Embrace the "Menu del Día"
To eat well without breaking the bank, look for restaurants offering the "Menu del Día" (Menu of the Day). This fixed-price lunch menu typically includes a starter, main course, dessert, and a drink. It is the standard way locals eat lunch and offers far better value than ordering à la carte in the evening.

Respect the Sun and Stay Hydrated
The Mediterranean sun is stronger than it feels, especially when there is a sea breeze. Reapply high-factor sunscreen more often than you think necessary, even on cloudy days. Carry a refillable water bottle, as the heat combined with walking up the hilly streets of the Old Town can lead to rapid dehydration.

Explore Beyond the Main Strip
While the "English Square" and the Levante strip offer lively entertainment, the true character of Benidorm lies in the backstreets. Venture into the "Tapas Alley" (Calle Santo Domingo) or the western end of Poniente beach to find authentic Spanish food and a more relaxed, local atmosphere away from the louder tourist crowds.

The key to a successful Benidorm holiday lies in striking a balance between the planned and the spontaneous. While having a list of attractions ensures you see the highlights, leaving time to simply wander through the Old Town or stop for a coffee overlooking the marina often leads to the most memorable moments. The city is designed to be explored at a leisurely pace, so resist the urge to over-schedule your days.

As the sun sets over the Balearic Sea and the lights of the skyline begin to twinkle, you will understand why this coastal city has captured the hearts of so many. Whether you came for the thrills, the nature, or the food, Benidorm delivers an experience that is both effortlessly accessible and surprisingly profound. It is a destination that rewards those who look beyond the surface, revealing a rich tapestry of Spanish life that keeps visitors returning for decades.
