Benidorm’s coastline is a masterclass in contrast. On one side, you have the bustling energy of Levante Beach, where sunbeds are packed together and the promenade hums with life. On the other, the rugged cliffs of the Sierra Helada drop dramatically into the Mediterranean, offering quiet coves and panoramic views that feel a world away from the high-rise skyline.
Most visitors come for the guaranteed sunshine and the lively atmosphere, but the real magic of this stretch of the Costa Blanca often lies in the viewpoints. The town is framed by natural parks and headlands that provide sweeping vistas of the bay, the island of Benidorm, and the shimmering sea beyond. Understanding where to go makes the difference between a standard beach holiday and a truly memorable one.
This guide focuses on the best beaches and viewpoints in Benidorm, blending the famous sandy stretches with the hidden observation decks that photographers and nature lovers seek out. Whether you are planning a family vacation, a romantic escape, or a solo hiking adventure, these locations offer something for every pace of travel.
Accessibility is a key factor when exploring Benidorm. While some viewpoints require a moderate hike up rocky paths, others are reachable by car or even a scenic boat trip. The beaches, meanwhile, are well-equipped with facilities, making them easy to enjoy for visitors of all ages and mobility levels.
I have spent considerable time walking these routes and observing how the light changes the landscape throughout the day. The best photographs are rarely taken at noon; they happen at sunrise when the eastern cliffs glow gold, or at sunset when the sky behind the mountains turns pink and purple. Timing your visit is just as important as the location itself.
To help you plan your itinerary, this article breaks down the essential stops along the coast. You will find a mix of urban beaches with every amenity you could need, alongside wilder, rocky spots where the only sound is the wind and the waves. Each location is chosen for its distinct character and the specific experience it offers.
Below is a curated list of the twelve best beaches and viewpoints in Benidorm, arranged to help you move logically from the town center out toward the natural park boundaries.

The observation deck offers absolutely stunning views. Especially at sunset, the city skyline is truly breathtaking and leaves a lasting impression. It can get quite crowded at that time, but the view is definitely worth the wait.
Kitty Brighton★★★★★
Absolutely beautiful place to visit with stunning sea views and a lovely atmosphere. Perfect spot for a family day out – we enjoyed a peaceful walk along the promenade and took some great photos. The area is clean, well-kept, and has plenty of places to sit and relax while taking in the scenery. Definitely worth visiting if you’re nearby!

Balcón del Mediterráneo is a beautiful viewpoint located between the old town and the two main beaches of Benidorm. It’s a relaxed place to stop and take in the view. The site was originally the location of a 16th-century fortress built to defend the coast from pirate attacks. Today it has been transformed into an open square and viewing terrace. Standing by the white railings, you get a wide panoramic view of the Mediterranean Sea and the beaches on both sides, and on clear days the color of the water is stunning.
During the day, the coastline stretches out beautifully in front of you with a very open view. In the evening, the light becomes softer and it’s a great spot to watch the sunset. At night, when the city lights come on along the coast, the atmosphere changes again and feels completely different.
Right behind the viewpoint is the charming Benidorm Old Town, with narrow streets full of restaurants, cafés, and small bars, making it a pleasant area to wander around. Getting there is easy—most places in the city center are within walking distance, and if you take a bus to the old town area it’s just a short walk from there. Overall, it’s not only a great photo spot but also a perfect place to sit for a while, enjoy the sea view, and slow down.
Iryna Shchukina★★★★★
A great viewpoint and a very atmospheric place. This is a historical site that is definitely worth visiting. From here you can enjoy a beautiful view of the city and the beach. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in Benidorm — you won’t regret it.
Llevant Beach, Benidorm

Gorgeous promenade: The Levante boardwalk area is very lovely and great for walks.Excellent beach: The beach looks great, wide, and is well-maintained.Nice water: The sea is beautiful, clean, and perfectly fine.⚠️ Beware of Indian Shops (The Downsides)No prices listed: Products in the local Indian shops do not have price tags.Risk of getting ripped off: Shopkeepers tend to cheat tourists or overcharge at checkout.Recommendation: Always ask for the price beforehand or avoid these shops completely.

We entered the beach and when you enter it can sometimes be fully packed or quiet when we went there it was fully packed so we took around 5 to 10 minutes to find some sun lounges and we found some we sat down for around 30 minutes and went into the sea the sea is quite clean so that’s good. We came back and we exchange tickets with someone so we could get them runner apparently you’re not allowed to exchange tickets I thought it was a quiet letdown. We were given a bit of attitude as we were speaking quite politely when we were leaving since we got sand on our feet there’s a place to wash your shoes and the sand off your feet which is right by the exit which is quite good

Benidorm, a great place for a cheap getaway. Bars and restaurants along the seafront, the whole place is full with high rise hotels and you will definitely meet a stag or hen party whatever time of year you go. Can be roudy due to the large groups of drinkers.

Perfect views over the balcony over the beach and sea towards the Benidorm Island. As everywhere nearby, there are many of seagulls nearby! Lovely sandy beach, great for all year round. Winter - December still has great temperature to relax on.

14 March 2020 - the first day of the Spanish Lockdown.
We looked across from the Mirador de San Jaime (by the Venecia Hotel) towards Playa Levante beach to Rincon de Loix to see total emptiness.
Earlier, we had watched the police telling people to move off the beach whilst they closed down the access to it by putting police cordon tape between lamp posts and trees.
The Mirador and the nearby Plaza Santa Anna - offer fabulous views between Levante to one side and Poniente to the other.

super nice viewpoint, to see the entire skyline of Little Manhattan (Benidorm) hahaha...you can get there by car but there is only room for 1 or 2 cars, so you have to be lucky, my advice goes early in the morning and during the week, weekend not to do!

Best wiew in benidorm but you can't go here in car because only residents of mont benidorm can up there. Up there is no parking lot for public. I recommend to park on street parking next to beach.
Mirror de l'Ermita Verge del Mar is free no tickets are needed.

A peaceful and spiritual place with breathtaking views over the entire city.🙏
Perfect for watching the sunrise or sunset, whether you're alone or in good company.🫂
It’s not very crowded, which makes the atmosphere even more special, calm, reflective, and intimate.
There’s no parking nearby, so a short walk is needed, but the serenity at the top is more than worth it.
A hidden corner of peace for soul and senses.😁
Enjoy 🩵

To experience an incredible city view from Benidorm's high-rise buildings and the long beach, you'll need to come to this exclusive vantage point. Ascending a steep hill is required, but you can also reach the top by scooter or bike. Don't miss out on this stunning view – it's definitely worth visiting!

Benidorm has its beautiful , sedate places, too, and a beach that must rank as one of the best in the world. Spotlessly clean and well cared for.

Visited Tossal de la Cala during my stay in Benidorm and it ended up being one of my favorite spots in the area. The walk up is a bit steep, but once you reach the top the views are absolutely worth it — you can see the whole bay, the skyline, and the mountains all in one panorama.
The site itself is small but very interesting, with Roman ruins and information panels explaining the history. It’s peaceful and much quieter than the busy beaches, which made it a nice break from the crowds. I especially recommend going near sunset — the light over the water is beautiful and perfect for photos.
There aren’t any shops or shade at the top, so bring water and wear comfortable shoes. Overall, a great free viewpoint and a must-visit if you’re in Benidorm and want something a little different from the beach.

Walked all the way from the Le Crux the opposite side!! Brilliant walk along the seafront, big steep hill up to the top of de la cala but the views made it all the better!

steep road up to the top, but once up at the view point, good scenety over the other side of Benidorm. its free. just a shame when we got up there, it was a cloudy day.
chris upex★★★★★
If you are able really urge people to take a stroll along the front and then make your way up the steep winding roads just for the view and to have a moment away from the noise. I don't think you need a ticket, take water with you! Don't know how busy it gets in peak season...

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL 😍 one of the best views in benidorm.
If you can walk it do it!! Its part of the experience. If you can't walk it. Get a taxi!! The view is amazing

This stunning tiny bay tucked away from the maddening crowds of Benidorm is the perfect spot to grab a little quiet time. Its well worth the walk.
Cavedog uk★★★★★
We fed the feral cats at the top of the road, had the beach to ourselves because it was a dreary day. We witnessed a family of wild quail running allong the beach, and ballanced some stones stacks. Noticed a handy portaloo and bins located on this beach. However, this beach is a also a designated nudist spot.
CJ★★★★☆
Nice small lagoon/ beach. Water was clean.
Accessible by car as there is a road all the way to the water and cars can turn around at the end.
Cars parked along the street.
The shore is mostly rocky, and the beach/water part is sandy.
There was one british homeless guy living on the top left side, in a cave, throwing rocks at some tourists.
Victor★★★★★
If you avoid the summer crowded season, this corner of the Mediterranean is superb. Crystal clear water, sea life and calm.
There is no sand so avoid if you are looking for a beach to sunbathing.
If equipped withe the proper shoes there is the possibility to take a brief walk over the rocks to find out plants and animals
C★★★★★
Beautiful secluded little cala, enough sand to spread your towel and relax away from the hustle and bustle of Benidorm. We came on a sunny winter day in December and almost had the whole beach to ourselves (my golden retriever even went for a swim!)

An Inspiring Journey to the Most Breathtaking View in Benidorm!
Visiting La Cruz de Benidorm is much more than just reaching a viewpoint—it feels like an inspiring journey that rewards you with the absolute best panorama on the Costa Blanca. Perched high up in the Serra Gelada Natural Park, this iconic monument stands like a silent guardian over the city, offering a view that will truly take your breath away.
The contrast you experience from the top is magical. On one side, you look down upon the massive, bustling skyscraper skyline and the endless golden curve of Levante Beach. On the other side, you are surrounded by the raw, quiet, and untouched beauty of rugged Mediterranean nature and deep blue waters. Standing beneath the giant cross makes you feel incredibly small, yet deeply connected to the landscape.
While you can reach it by car, hiking up from the end of Levante Beach is an unforgettable experience. The walk is challenging and will get your heart pumping, but watching the city shrink below you with every step is incredibly motivating. Reaching the summit at either sunrise or sunset is pure perfection, as the sky turns into a canvas of pink and gold. It is a peaceful, spiritual, and rewarding place that shows you a completely different, majestic side of Benidorm. A must-visit for your soul!

Don't believe what you hear. The place in clean and full of life. Some to much to look at, but that's what makes the place fun. Us Brits aren't the best advert for Beni! But it's a great vibe and there is plenty of places to visit in and around the area. Go out and find them and you'll find some gems. I love the place and will visit often. The pic are of places you can get very easily from Beni.
Stephen Yathindran★★★★★
This is a great place to visit with great views over Benidorm. It's about a 30-40 minute walk uphill from the beach on a quiet road with only the last 100 metres or so is over a rough path. Some people drive or get a taxi up but it's we worth tackling the uphill walk as the views you will get will be rewarding. Bring water and snacks with you as there are no facilities when you get there.
Sarah Banks★★★★★
Amazing views from up at the cross, make sure you take water and go to the toilet before hand as no where to go or get water from. It's a very steep road up to the cross and then the last bit it a very uneven path not suitable for prams or wheelchairs bikes etc. when you get to the top the view's are amazing 😍. Google maps said it takes 1hr 6mins from our hotel but it didn't it took about 2hours up and then less time back down as much easier walking down the hill. You can get a taxi up to the top of the road for €10 if U want to go up without walking.
VoodooToad★★★★★
Nice walk up hill to see some incredible views of the Benidorm skyline.
We walked up as a family in the evening to see the lights.
Highly recommend a walk up. The views are beautiful.
It’s a public landmark with no charge for entry.

Tips for Visiting Benidorm’s Beaches and Viewpoints
The difference between a good trip and a great one often comes down to preparation. Benidorm is a safe and well-organized destination, but the terrain varies significantly between the flat promenades and the steep cliffs of the Sierra Helada. By following a few practical guidelines, you can avoid common pitfalls like parking fines, sunburn, or arriving at a viewpoint when the haze obscures the view.
Wear proper footwear for the viewpoints. While the beaches require nothing more than flip-flops, the paths to locations like the Albir Lighthouse or the Punta del Cavall involve loose stones and uneven terrain. Closed-toe shoes with good grip will make the hike much safer and more comfortable.
Arrive early or stay late for the best light. The midday sun in Spain is harsh, washing out colors in photos and making physical activity exhausting. Plan your viewpoint visits for the first two hours after sunrise or the last two hours before sunset. You will also encounter fewer crowds and cooler temperatures.
Use public parking at the edge of the natural park. Driving directly to some trailheads is restricted, and unauthorized parking can result in fines. For the Sierra Helada routes, park in the designated lots near the Albir beach or the Rincón de Loix area and walk from there.
Bring more water than you think you need. The Mediterranean climate is dry, and many of the hiking trails offer no shade. A one-hour walk in the sun can dehydrate you quickly, especially in July and August. Carry a reusable bottle and refill it at the beachfront fountains before heading uphill.
Check the flag system before swimming. Benidorm’s beaches are monitored by lifeguards, and the flag colors indicate water safety. A green flag means calm conditions, yellow means caution, and red means swimming is prohibited. The coves near the cliffs can have strong currents, so always respect the flags.
Combine a beach day with a short viewpoint walk. You do not need to choose between relaxing and exploring. For example, you can spend the morning on Levante Beach, have lunch, and then walk up to the Balcón del Mediterráneo for sunset. This balance gives you the full Benidorm experience without exhausting yourself.
Benidorm rewards those who look beyond the obvious. The beaches are undeniably beautiful, clean, and well-maintained, but the elevated perspectives reveal why this coastline has attracted visitors for generations. Standing on a cliff edge with the sea stretching out below, you understand the geography of the bay in a way that no postcard can capture.
As you plan your visit, remember that the town’s compact size works in your favor. You can move from a lively urban beach to a quiet natural viewpoint in under thirty minutes. That rare combination of convenience and natural beauty is what makes Benidorm’s coastline so compelling, and why these twelve spots deserve a place on your itinerary.
