17 Best Hotels in Paris

Paris is a city that lives up to every expectation. From the moment you step out of Gare du Nord or catch your first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower from the window of a taxi, the atmosphere shifts. The streets hum with a particular kind of energy—one that balances old-world grandeur with a modern, fast-paced rhythm. Whether you are visiting for the art, the food, or simply to wander, where you choose to stay shapes the entire experience.

The hotel landscape in Paris is unlike anywhere else in the world. You will find converted 18th-century mansions tucked behind unmarked doors, design-forward boutique spaces that feel like galleries, and grand palaces that have hosted royalty and rock stars alike. Each arrondissement offers a different personality, meaning your choice of base can determine whether your trip feels like a local’s secret or a classic tourist fantasy.

Choosing the right hotel is not just about a bed. It is about the neighborhood boulangerie you will visit every morning, the metro line that connects you to your meetings or museum reservations, and the level of quiet you need after a long day on cobblestone streets. Paris rewards those who match their accommodation to their travel style, whether that means sacrificing space for a view of the Seine or prioritizing a spa over a central location.

The city’s hospitality standards are exceptionally high, but the definitions of luxury vary widely. Some travelers seek out historic Haussmannian details, gilded moldings, and formal service. Others want minimalist rooms with rainfall showers and a rooftop bar. The best hotels in Paris manage to bridge these worlds, offering contemporary comfort within walls that have stood for centuries.

We have spent years covering the Parisian hotel scene, from press stays in palace hotels to under-the-radar openings in the 11th arrondissement. This list is not just a collection of famous names; it is a curated selection based on location, service consistency, design integrity, and value. We have considered everything from the thread count of the sheets to the quality of the concierge’s restaurant recommendations.

Whether you are planning a honeymoon, a solo art pilgrimage, or a business trip that leaves little time for sightseeing, this guide is designed to help you find the perfect home base. Below, you will find a diverse range of properties that represent the very best of what the French capital has to offer right now.

Our family of four arrived in Paris from Rome and were very pleased with our stay at Les Patios du Marais. The apartment was exactly as described and pictured, making it easy to settle in after our travels. The location was outstanding and one of the highlights of our stay. We were able to explore much of Paris on foot, and when needed, both the Metro and taxis were conveniently close by. We also appreciated the thoughtfulness of our host during the extreme heat wave. Two fans had been set up and were already running when we arrived, making the apartment as comfortable as possible under the circumstances. While the unusually high temperatures meant we didn’t spend much downtime inside the apartment, we enjoyed relaxing in the charming outdoor courtyard and covered hallways, where the café tables and chairs provided a pleasant, cooler place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Overall, this was an excellent home base for exploring Paris. Between the convenient location, comfortable accommodations, and attentive host, we would happily stay here again and recommend Les Patios du Marais to other travelers.

Great Location if you have a short amount of time to visit Paris! The rooms are also very clean, well maintained, and well decorated. If you are planning to book make sure that you have no problems with stairs, ours was on the 4th floor and they are very steep. We had no problems with them but other people might. The only problem I had was the service. There was a heatwave the days we were here and all I asked for was one more fan, not even for them to fix the AC, to make our stay more comfortable. All I got was that they had reached out to the “team”. I understand other people might be asking for the same but just tell us that you cant so we dont keep waiting. Anyway this stay would probably be one of the best if there was no heatwave! 🤣 If you are sensitive to heat and plan on going in the summer, find a different hotel that specifically has AC

Lovely little apartment. It was great for 3 of us. Very clean, beds very comfortable. Great location, just down the stairs we had 3 little cafes for morning coffee options, a boulangerie for all kinds of wonderful pastries, many lunch and dinner options, a wine bar. walking distance too the Louvre, the Hop o Hop off Bus. etc. We are very happy with our choice.

I was a little hesitant to book after reading some of the reviews, but I’m so glad I did. The hotel exceeded my expectations. The moment I walked in, everything smelled fresh and clean, which immediately put me at ease. As someone who used to work in property management, I know what signs to look for when it comes to cleanliness and potential pest issues. I did a thorough check of the room and found absolutely nothing concerning. The hotel itself is charming, the location is fantastic, and it offers excellent value for the price. I noticed some reviews mentioning that the rooms are small, but honestly, the room size felt very normal for Paris standards. If you’re expecting a typical Paris hotel room, you’ll likely find it perfectly comfortable. I do agree with one of the other reviews regarding the stairs. We stayed on the 5th floor, so it’s worth considering your mobility and luggage size when booking. If you’re healthy, able, and don’t mind a few flights of stairs, our 5th-floor room was great and well worth it. I can also see where some guests may have concerns about the level of service, as this is a self-check-in property. If you’re not particularly tech-savvy or prefer a traditional front desk experience, it may not be the best fit. However, for my husband and me (in our 30s and 40s), the process was incredibly easy and honestly something we preferred. It was quick, seamless, and much faster than waiting to check in with staff. Overall, this is a clean, cute hotel in a fantastic location that offers great value for the price. We had a wonderful stay and would happily stay here again.

As it was the middle of a very hot heatwave and temps were up to 40°c the "Iceluxe" unit did not really cut it. The studio is on the top floor (4th) and the main bed has v limited head space between it and the roof of the building.. so it was hot, hot hot!!. The decor of the studio is good and the building has a rustic charm. The shaded communal patios were a god send. However considering the wider situation not having in person reception or contact for reassurance and local knowledge was a noticeable deficit.

The location is perfect, in a great area with plenty of bars, restaurants, shopping centres, and hotels. It feels very safe, even late at night, and is close to both the metro and bus stations. The hotel itself is in good condition compared to many other hotels, and the breakfast is good. It is a bit pricey, but keep in mind that this isn't a typical Ibis Budget hotel—it's a proper 3-star hotel, so the price reflects the higher standard. A special shout-out to the manager, François, who is an absolute star. He is incredibly helpful, service-minded, and professional. He solved every problem we had. When we had an issue with the sink late in the afternoon and there was no technician on site, he grabbed a bucket and fixed it himself. Give this man a raise! He truly made our stay unforgettable.

The staff of the hotel is so nice and friendly, ready to help you at any point and time. Special thanks to Ariane! She made our stay extraordinary with her kindness and solicitudness!

From the moment we entered, we were treated like friends. The check-in process was quick and we went straight up to our room. The rooms are a good size, clean and everything (including the shower) works. The Wifi connection is excellent. As Paris is expensive, we chose to have breakfast in the hotel - great choice of food, and good value for €14. And overall, considering the price of most hotels in Paris, this Ibis was great overall value for money and a great location for anyone catching a train from Montparnasse.
Patrick Mahon★★★★★
Great stay. Canuck perspective; Rooms aren't the Ritz (not much ventilation, but we had a window) -but you know that when booking. Most hotels are smaller rooms in Paris. Room was nice and clean. Great shower. Hotel is set up to handle luggage services quite well. We were early and had our baggage stowed. The room was made available when clean, and we had great service and help from Daro at the front desk. She got our bags to our luggage forwarder 🙏 and made sure we were taken care of. The optional breakfast is decent and infinitely better than wandering. Especially if you have dietary concerns. Would recommend. Thank you folks.
Victoria Coste★★★★☆
I chose this hotel because it was close to train station Montparnasse. The room was clean and quite large by Paris standards. The breakfast buffet was quite good with the choice of hot and cold dishes. My only complaint was the group of young drunks who decided to sing at 3 am in the morning, waking me up from a deep sleep! Otherwise the hotel was quite comfortable and central to everything in Paris.

Good hotel, poor location, limited breakfast. If you value low price and don’t mind being in transport 2-3 hours a day this is ok. We paid multiple times for uber and metro a day as it is very far from attractions. The area is also very poor, probably the ghetto of Paris. Don’t expect good food or feeling safe at night around the hotel, although we had no security issue. The hotel itself is very nice and clean. Housekeeping was good.

Very accommodating, professional and helpful staffs. Very good rooms. Good and safe location even at night. Especially when you arrive late at night from the trip. 🙂 well recommended place to stay in Paris. Near the train stations as well.
Narendra Pingale★★★★☆
Nice, business style hotel. Nothing too exorbitant, everything needed was there. The location was amazing, right in front of the metro station. The area around the hotel is good as well, fairly buzzing with many places to eat. Traveling anywhere in the city was extremely easy and convenient. Amantu at the breakfast restaurant was extremely nice and professional. He took care of us, and was very efficient. We would definitely rate him highly. The breakfast spread itself could have been much better, the options were very limited. It would have been disappointing by any normal hotel standards, so it was even more so considering it was a Novotel. Overall, it was a decent property, good for a short trip.
Umberto Aiello★★★☆☆
More of a good 3* hôtel than a real 4. Breakfast is good and with a large selection. Rooms are spacious and comfy. However I experienced several issues: - there was dirt (soil) on the moquette of my room; - I booked a room for a person and got a room with a bunk bed in it, which I did not like since I ended up not having a place where to sit to do some work; - I wasn’t able to get a ticket from the bar with my tax info; - the smell in the stairs was awful; - the shower leaked abundantly; - there was mold in the shower.

I had a wonderful experience at Novotel Paris 20 Belleville. Everything was excellent, from the room and location to the quality of service. A special mention to Kazi, who was extremely professional, welcoming and helpful throughout the stay. His kindness and attention to detail really made a difference. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a great place to stay, close to the metro and in an exciting area of Paris. Great for visiting the city (so close to the metro), eating out and enjoying the atmosphere. The staff are very polite and helpful, the room was a bit small but with all facilities and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. The hotel was being renovated externally when we stayed, but there was ZERO negative impact on our stay. Great value for money, I would definitely go back!

The worst hotel experience I have ever had. We booked and paid for a triple room with a private bathroom in April/May for our stay in July. When we arrived, we were told that there was a “problem” with our room and they could not give it to us. With a smile, the receptionist offered us unacceptable alternatives or basically the option to leave and find somewhere else. It was Friday afternoon before Bastille Day, the city was extremely busy with tourists, temperatures were over 40°C, and finding another hotel was almost impossible. The rooms were disgusting: black mould in the shower, sewage smell, dirty bedding, hair on towels, broken sockets and hairdryers, and renovation work directly outside the windows. No privacy, no comfort, and absolutely not what we booked. And on top of all this, the hotel turned out to be infested with bed bugs. I woke up covered in bites and later found bed bugs in the room. My friends were staying in a different room, but we found a live bed bug in their luggage. After returning home, we had to spend extra time and money disinfecting our belongings to avoid bringing these parasites into our homes. This hotel completely ruined our holiday. Avoid at all costs.
Thaddäus Zaya★☆☆☆☆
Where to begin? This was a total disaster. This is not a hotel; it is a destination for disappointment. The management consists of teenagers who have no idea how to host or welcome guests properly. The reception staff appear to live in the lobby; the area is filthy and unprofessional. They spend their time playing on a gaming console and ignore guests' needs. They are thieves. Despite paying in full online and showing bank proof of the deduction, the reception staff (a girl and two boys) forced me to pay again. I was shocked by their behavior. I cannot believe this place is classified as a hotel in Paris. The entire place is catastrophic; the rooms are horrible and dirty. This establishment should be closed immediately. I am baffled as to how it is listed on booking websites. French authorities need to shut this place down. I called the police, but they were unhelpful due to the language barrier. I hope French citizens report this scandal. Please do not book here. Your vacation will be ruined; the workers are incredibly rude, disrespectful, and hostile. Again, do not stay here. Their attitude is disgusting.
ACH SO★☆☆☆☆
Very bad experience. The rooms were not as shown in the pictures at all and were quite disappointing in terms of cleanliness and overall condition. There was constant noise due to nearby construction and renovation work, which made it impossible to relax. Additionally, there was no air conditioning, which was a major issue, especially in warm weather. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel at all and would not stay here again.
Adrijana Darkovska★☆☆☆☆
Horrible smell coming from the bathroom/sewage system, whenever water is turned on. The windows cannot be properly open because the whole facade is a construction work, so the windows are either covered completely or with netting. Noise from early in the morning due to the construction work, so it is impossible to sleep after 8 in the morning.

Hotel Ibis Bastille Opera in the 11th arrondissement of Paris is a very good choice for a stay in this wonderful city of love. Its biggest advantage is its great location in a quiet area, with a direct metro connection to Gare du Nord, which makes it an excellent base for sightseeing around the city, as well as the underground hotel parking, which is an ideal solution for travelers arriving by car. The rooms are small but clean and well maintained. In our triple room there was a large double bed and a fold out chair used as an extra bed. However, setting up the additional bed was quite troublesome. It is also worth noting that with larger suitcases there may be a lack of space, and the shower cabin is quite small. On the plus side, there is a TV with Chromecast, which unfortunately did not work in our room, and there was also no safe. The staff is very polite and helpful. Special thanks and warm regards to MARIE at the reception for her kindness and professional service. We would gladly return during our next visit to Paris!

Ibis Bastille Opéra Paris Pros: • Clean and well-maintained hotel. • Varied breakfast with good options for different tastes. • Excellent location, with easy access to public transportation and major attractions. • The lobby is beautiful and welcoming, decorated with natural plants that create a pleasant atmosphere. Areas for improvement: • The rooms are a bit small, which may be less comfortable for longer stays. • The shower area is also quite compact. Overall: A good hotel with a great location, cleanliness, and a nice breakfast. Despite the small rooms and shower space, it offers good value for money and is worth staying at.
James Auty★★★☆☆
Business booking, so I had no choice. The foods not great. The bar prices are stupid high for a hotel of it's quality and you can't even fit in the showers properly. The hot water is hit and miss. No coffee and tea facilities in the tiny basic rooms and all the plumbing leaked on the floor after a shower or using the sink. So that was good. Anyway I'll be back later in the year because it's close to work.
Joelle Mulders★★★★☆
Hotel is very well located, rooms are a bit tiny, staff is nice but overall experience a bit negatively impacted by having to pay for lockers to store your luggage on day of departure (even though having Accor membership gold status) and on-line reservation system not allowing to extend a stay. You have to make additional reservation ending up having to reprogram room access card in the middle of the stay.
anastasia vardali★★★☆☆
The hotel is in a very convenient location, the room was nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, there were a few issues that affected our experience. The room was not as clean as expected, and the sink was clogged during our stay. In addition, housekeeping usually came in the afternoon, when we had already returned to the room and wanted to rest. With some improvements in cleanliness and housekeeping scheduling, the experience would be much better.

This hotel is a part of the Astotel group and located in Paris’s 9th arrondissement, offers excellent value and a highly convenient location. Many major attractions are within walking distance. The hotel is also situated very close to both metro and bus stations, making it easy to explore the city. One of its standout features is the complimentary mini bar available in the lobby, where guests can enjoy cookies, candies, coffee, and a variety of hot and cold beverages throughout the afternoon and evening. In addition, the in-room refrigerator is stocked daily with free mineral water, juice, and soft drinks. Astotel guests can also access the complimentary afternoon tea mini bar at nine other Astotel hotels across Paris simply by presenting their room key card, which is a unique and thoughtful benefit. The room was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable, providing a pleasant place to relax after a day of sightseeing. Overall, this hotel combines convenience, comfort, and generous guest amenities, making it an excellent choice for visitors to Paris.
Donna Marie Atkins★★★★☆
Staff were friendly and helpful. Luggage storage available and we used this facility before check in. The room was good, comfortable bed and the shower was great. Also quiet at night and the room was a good temperature. The fridge was handy and the free water and juice was appreciated. Unfortunately their breakfast selection for me was very limited as I am vegan and coeliac, but I was able to get gluten free toast and some soya and fruit pots. The afternoon free soft drinks and snacks again were very limited in what I could have, but the selections at other hotels within the chain were more diverse. The unique thing about staying at an astotel hotel is that you get access to the free bar in the afternoons at each hotel for various snacks and soft drinks. The selections did vary tremendously in variety and quality from hotel to hotel, with some being much better than others, but overall a good selection and nice touch. Each of the hotels has a different theme, which was fun to discover
Lindsay Teske★★★☆☆
I would like to warn potential future guests that if they leave a less-than-perfect review during their stay, they will be confronted by management while checking out. This happened to a member of our party, who noted that the breakfast options could have stood to be more diverse. The confrontation that ensued — to emphasize, over breakfast food — was surprising, disproportionate, and awkward. It was asked that the review, which provided feedback but was not negative, be deleted. I have never experienced a business directly harassing a customer to control their review, and the approach taken felt rooted in blaming the customer for highlighting a problem rather than a productive dialogue about the reason the problem existed. It created a sour and uncomfortable ending to what was otherwise a pleasant, warm stay.
G. H.★★★★☆
We had a wonderful 5-night stay at the hotel. Our duplex room was perfect for a family of four—spacious and even larger than we expected. The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. The complimentary soft drinks in the room were a thoughtful touch, especially after a long day out. While the room could use a bit of updating and minor repairs, it has a charming character that we really appreciated. The service was friendly throughout our stay. Breakfast was good—perhaps not a huge variety, but more than enough to start the day well. The complimentary drinks and snacks are a great idea; however, it would be helpful if staff reminded guests not to refill personal water bottles at the snack bar. Some people were placing their bottles too close or in contact with the “big bottles”, which isn’t very hygienic. That said, this isn’t the hotel’s fault—and Paris tap water is perfectly safe to drink, so guests can easily refill bottles in their rooms. The location is excellent. You can walk to Montmartre, the Opera, Galeries Lafayette, the Louvre, and more. There are plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby, including great spots for crêpes, and the neighborhood has a lovely, authentic French feel. We would definitely return to this hotel—or try another property from the same chain. We even stopped by one of their other locations for coffee and a quick break after a Moulin Rouge show!
Magda T.★★★★★
Been back twice, and everything's nice. The positives: close to all conveniences, rooms remodeled, guests services (especially Lolita at front desk) are attentive, and housekeeping keeps everything tidy, so that your room is freshened daily (thank you Jocelyn). Negatives: the neighborhood is bustling with the good, bad, and ugly of Paris' 9th district, so be attentive to your environment, like you would in any big city. I really like this place for work and leisure, and I recommend it for both types of stays.

This was my second time staying at this hotel, and it will definitely remain my recommended place in Paris. First of all, it offers great quality for the price. It’s clean, well organized, and the L’Occitane products in the bathroom were a lovely touch. There’s also a coffee machine in the room, which I really appreciated. The breakfast is excellent — organic products, good variety, reasonably priced, and absolutely worth it. During our three-day stay, we never regretted having breakfast included. The location is fantastic, in a great neighborhood and within walking distance of everything you might want to see. Most importantly, the service is incredible. Every single person at reception, no matter the shift, was extremely kind and proactive in helping us. A wonderful place — I highly recommend it.

I unfortunately only got to stay 1 night, but it has been such a pleasure. Not only was The hotel cute, quiet and cozy, I talked with 3 different people at the desk and every single one was so kind and had such patience with me. It made my short time in Paris that much sweeter. Must stay here next time I come!!

The room was cosy, the bed was comfortable, the shower perfect. Everyone on reception were very helpful. Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance and the metro was 5 minutes away. The only thing was, the area towards chateau d'eau felt a bit unsafe later in the evening. Other than that we had a great time in Paris

Great stay, very clean and nice rooms. Great service with very helpful tips to rent bikes for families (long bikes to carry smaller kids). Tasteful breakfast with everything we needed. Happy experience for a family and 1 night. Very good logistics to Gare Est, vibrant area and surrounding cafes and restaurants.

The charm of the boutique hotel as it glistened in the night upon our arrival set our adventure of Paris off in the right foot! Al thought rooms are small (was anticipated), they were very clean and well appointed. Staff was more than friendly and provided assistance when requested. Great location, step out of the hotel, look right and you’ll see the Eiffel Tower. Seems to be a popular spot for photos. Not far from the metro which was easy to use. The restaurant downstairs is a good stop too. A bit of a refresh is needed, but I understand renovations in older buildings are not easy. Yes, the rooms are a bit on the smaller end but that is normal for buildings of that age. Bed comfortable enough, shower pressure good, staff always greet you with a smile. I would stay here again.

Hotel Le Pavillon was the perfect place for our weekend in Paris! The hotel is centrally located to a ton of great restaurants and shops and within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower and Seine River. The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and the staff was extremely helpful throughout all parts of the day. I would highly recommend Hotel Le Pavillon to anybody looking for a great rate at a quaint hotel in the heart of Paris.

Our stay at Hotel Le Pavillon was excellent. The staff is so helpful and kind. The room was small but manageable. The location is perfect, so many bakeries and cafes steps away. Short walk to the Eiffel Tower. Close to the metro. When you go out and about they require you to leave your room key with them, which made us feel safe in terms of pick pockets. They can schedule a shuttle to the airport for you which was so convenient. We did not partake in breakfast so cannot comment on thay.

Very cute hotel. If you walk out the front door and look to the right you have a great view of the Eiffel Tower. The young woman who checked us in was extremely pleasant. She was smiling and courteous. She spoke terrific English as well. The room was very nice. The shower was great pressure and hoy water. Bed was comfortable and large. I would definitely recommend this place and stay here again. (The overnight clerk was also very nice when we checked out in the AM. Great employees!)

This hotel in Paris exceeded all my expectations and offers outstanding value for money. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is another major highlight. It’s close to restaurants, shops, and public transportation, making it easy to get around and explore the city. Whether you’re staying for a few nights before heading to the airport or spending a longer vacation in Paris, this hotel is an excellent choice.

Just a few paces from thw louvre, Seine and Notre Dame. Ill return to this location in a heartbeat. Staff were all quite friendly and helpful with bookings of tours and places of interest. Easy access to the metro, to and from the airport.

Stayed here on a trip from New Zealand. Upon check-in we dealt with May, she was fantastic, she spoke English, was very helpful, had a great smile and greeted us every day we saw her. Offered to move rooms if needed. Please let her know how fantastic she was. The facilities were awesome, a great breakfast when wanted, location was also perfect. As a couple who had never been to France, this was a great introduction. The coffee, laundry and comfort room were very much appreciated Thanks from back here New Zealand 🇳🇿

An absolute jewel of a place to stay! Location near Louvre and Notre Dame makes being a tourist easy. Lots of great cafes around the hotel. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was very nice. The window opened to the fountain square and offered fantastic sounds of the local day and night life. The staff were incredibly helpful and spoke a number of languages - including English which helped me. Breakfast is definitely worth the price - so much fresh food, great start to the day. Looking forward to our next visit!

Loved the free coffee machine; ample assortment of coffees. Also free water fountain with both plain and sparkling water, right by the reception area. Great (multilingual) laundry machines including laundry hamper available. Loved having a shower (vs a tub). Staff is just amazing and kind. Great location: churches, convenience stores, shopping center, multiple access to metro lines, restaurants and places to eat and drink to please all whims and cravings. The mattresses were fantastic as were the pillows. Despite not offering cleaning services everyday, but once a week (which is fine by me) when cleaner did came, I had no complaints (and I'm a picker). Kitchen was nicely stocked with the basics, but strangely enough, had two of some things and four of others. (Like 2 glasses but four plates and cutlery). Perhaps the only two things I would recommend to the hotel would be: 1. Handle bars inside the shower, for safety. Despite the disposable shower mat, I still would have felt safer if I had a place to grab from. 2. Top shelves inside the closet are way too high and despite my 1m 67 cm, I had to step on the bottom shelves to reach for my clothes. Some sort of stepping stool could be designed and provided.

We stayed here for our son’s graduation during a hideous bout of hot weather in Paris. The air conditioning worked a treat and the staff coped well with the trying conditions. Great area of Paris with heaps of groovy bars and restaurants nearby, and a 4 minute walk to the Metro. Room quite big by Parisian standards (the standard of the room was great, but size brings it down one star, which may be a little unfair) and very clean and comfortable. Would happily stay here again

We had the perfect stay at Hotel Fabric for our 3 day trip to Paris. Our room was clean, spacious, beautiful, and the perfect area. There were stunning shops, food, and coffee within walking distance. The coffee area was super nice and available all day. We used the laundry service and it was so breezy. The cleaners did a fabulous job on our room each day and every aspect of this stay was so organized. Sad to be leaving this flawless hotel!! Will be back any time I’m in Paris. P.S. the rain shower was so relaxing and the bed was huuuuge!

This is the greatest place to stay in Paris. I’ve stayed at the Hotel Fabric three times: once in 2020, 2024, and now most recently in 2026. It has surpassed my expectations every time. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, and very responsive to any questions you may have, including organizing transport to and from the airport. I appreciated the housekeeping service as well; the rooms are gorgeous, and it was a refreshing place to return to each night. The breakfast is also excellent. The location cannot be beat — you have several metro stops within a few minutes walking distance that will take you wherever you need to go, and the local food scene and shops are spectacular. I don’t ever plan on staying anywhere else on my trips to Paris — it is well worth every penny!

Petite gem! Stayed 3 nights (that unexpectedly turned into 4) - perfect location, clean, safe, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Missed my train out of Paris and had no telephone service to call the hotel. I emailed them, and they very quickly responded that they had a room available for the extra night. This hotel was a more budget friendly recommendation of Rick Steve’s, and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Twin room is a bit larger with a larger bath. Side note - the AC worked perfectly!
Susan Osborne-Allen★★☆☆☆
On the whole, this was not a good stay. I know that budget hotel rooms can be small in Paris, but these were really crammed in - you wouldn’t want to turn up with a large suitcase and certainly not two. Unfortunately on our first night, there was a rat in the ceiling trying to rearrange the electric cables. Paris is an old city and I live on a farm, so I’m not overly horrified by this (except for any potential fire risk), but I needed the sleep, so the next morning my very polite French speaking daughter asked if we could move to another room. The staff seemed unsurprised by our request and moved us without question. Unfortunately though, we stupidly left our phone chargers - one an expensive Apple flash charger - in the old room and when we tried to retrieve them, they had disappeared. The room didn’t appear to have been relet and there wasn’t much help from the staff, who directed us to a shop round the corner. This really annoyed me, because it’s just dishonest and very disappointing. The staff generally weren’t particularly welcoming, or helpful - they actually seemed more interested in their phones. The bathrooms were particularly tired and neither shower door in either room closed. The breakfast was ok, but the reception area where you eat it is tiny and you’d be hard pressed to sit down if every guest turned up at the same time. They have built a further seating area outside on the side of the road, but not sure how that works in the rain - maybe more building work is planned, but we won’t be returning to find out.

Very good hotel. Clean, very helpful and friendly staff, and beautiful design. The rooms were nicely cooled down. The breakfast was ok (but french breakfast is usually not so luxurious), with croissants, baguettes, some spreads and marmelade, youghurt, coffee and tea. I like that there was free coffee, filtered water and small treats available for the guests the whole day.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Location is excellent. Metro is very convenient. Much to see in the Le Marais district. Hotel staff were warm and welcoming especially Sidi and Nelvim. Free and decent coffee in the lobby.

Lovely service and wonderful staff. The rooms were beautiful, spotless, and in a fantastic location close to everything. Emma and Sid were especially lovely and helpful, giving us great recommendations for places to eat. Would definitely recommend!

The hotel was excellent and exceeded my expectations! Guests are given 45 minutes of free spa access each day, which includes a dry sauna, hammam, pool and a jacuzzi. There’s also a small gym available for cardio. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the bathroom was modern and well maintained. The room had a moderate amount of natural light. The staff were welcoming, helpful, and all spoke English. The location is great! Close to the city center, with a metro station nearby, yet situated in a quiet and safe neighborhood. I highly recommend it!

We stayed at hotel romantic and found it a pleasant experience Room - the room size was perfect with a large wardrobe with plenty of storage - The nespresso machine in the room was regularly refilled and there was a fridge in the wardrobe that had extra products for a charge. We did not buy any (does anyone ever actually do that?) but the option was nice in case of emergency - The bathroom I could not fault at all, the shower deserves 6-stars and was excellent. The bath filled very quickly with hot water and faced out onto a lovely view of the garden. The bathroom also came with face towels and plenty of amenities if you forget to bring your own - Very pretty Parisian design and all very clean - TV in the room had French live TV as well as YouTube and Netflix, you could also cast via your phone - The location was also good, a metro station 1 minute walk from the entrance and within central Paris in 15 minutes Service - The staff were attentive in supporting our needs, almost all of the staff spoke Spanish and were patient with our French when they needed to be - Staff were happy to assist with extras for our room I.e extra sugar with no problem and it always arrived quickly - The staff were also happy to provide directions and gave us a list of recommended restaurants with different categories of cuisine Spa/Gym - The Spa facility was fantastic, you can book for 45 minutes, I am unsure how many people can be there at a time, on one occasion only one other couple was present and it was incredibly peaceful and relaxing, other times it was quite full (about 16 people) but it didn’t ruin the experience - The sauna was great, a good size and good temperature though the door would let cold air in if not properly closed by others - The steam room when working was also good - The pool was a good size to move around, not for swimming but to be relaxed. The jacuzzi was on the smaller side (6 people maximum) but very good if you were able to use it. It was definitely more popular than the sauna and so when it was busy it was quite difficult to get the chance to use it. - The ice available was a very welcome feature and well used by us - A small gym was also available and very well maintained Negatives - We were in Paris for my partners birthday, I had asked via the booking special requests that this was the case so I was disappointed not to see anything in the room I.e balloon/cake or something of that nature. It was not experience breaking however this is something that most hotels will provide for - The steam room was intermittent, each time we used the spa there were periods where it did not work, fortunately the sauna was always working

Absolutely loved our stay. Such an amazing hotel and staff. We made use of the spa facilities which were quiet, clean and relaxing. We also added a massage with our stay which was 10/10. Huge comfy bed, bath and excellent breakfast. Would love to come back again.

The breakfast is very good. The standard rooms are tiny and not new, it is not a standard 4 star experience (or maybe Paris hotel rooms of old buildings are small). They have bigger rooms though that are feeling more like a standard 4 star hotel.

Staff at Villa Romantic & Spa were truly outstanding – very kind, helpful and welcoming, and for this they definitely deserve the highest rating. The location is also a big plus, with easy access to bus and metro, as well as a grocery store and a nice boulangerie/patisserie nearby, which made our stay more convenient and pleasant. The fact that the hotel has a SPA area is appreciated, but the pool is really quite small. Also, the covering on the edges and bottom of the pool, which looked like a kind of linoleum, was partly detached. It was not a major problem, but it was surprising to see and gives a slightly neglected impression. The main downside for me was noise. On two mornings I was woken by very loud sounds: the first day around 6 a.m. by what seemed to be pipes or plumbing, and the second day around 5 a.m. by a long series of loud tapping noises that seemed to come from outside the exterior wall. You can also hear noise quite clearly from the room above and from street traffic. However, once I managed to fall asleep, it was fine. Overall, despite these issues, my experience was pleasant, mainly thanks to the excellent staff and convenient location.

Perfect location and price. The front desk attendees Jamal and Matthias were so very helpful and kind which added the perfect touch to our trip. We dropped a glass in our bathroom and Jamal personally swept it up and made sure we were safe. He even gave us slippers just in case and checked in with us the next morning. Matthias was super helpful with our check in and flagging us a taxi. It was 5 star service and we were very happy to have piping cold ac during the heat wave.

If you're looking for a clean, safe and central located hotel, this is the place. It's a 50m walk to the closest metro station, within 10 min of five of the major tourist spots in Paris. The only thing we had to travel to was the Eiffel tower and the Arc de Triomphe via train so our stay was exquisite. We stayed in the top floor suite which was absolutely worth the cost. AC was functional if not the strongest and the jets in the tub didn't work but other than that our stay was excellent. I would highly recommend staying here, the staff was extremely pleasant, helpful and attentive. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Location of this hotel is excellent for touring Paris. However it is located in a busy area of the Latin Quarter and the noise from the cafes below is clearly heard in the room. Windows are old and not soundproofed. Bring earplugs. Bathtub in our room was relatively deep, a handrail would be appreciated for safety purposes. Front desk staff did their best to solve and account for problems with check in (rooms not ready) and broken air conditioning.

Pictures online are very deceiving compared to the room we actually got. Our bed was about two feet from the sink and shower. There was no dividing wall. Luckily the toilet had its own private space. Cleanliness is terrible as there was dust on a lot of tables. I ended up wiping everything down on my own, including the floor. Our shower looked like it had mold too. The reception area was full of clutter - boxes and boxes stacked on the table behind the desk. It was a very tight space for checking in with other people. Although the location is great, I would not recommend this hotel for the price I paid.

While this might be a 3 star hotel, we had a 5 star experience. I booked the "superior" room with balcony as a birthday surprise for my wife. And it was perfect! We were on the 5th floor and looked down on the plaza below which was busy with activity each night, and several nights we enjoyed cheese, susauge, bread and wine while watching the activity below. The room was clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed their buffet breakfast several of the days we stayed there. The location of this hotel couldn't be any better. It is literally two minutes to the Metro, and 20 minutes to the Louvre. Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle and the Conciergerie are even closer. A dozen restaurants are reachable within a three minute walk. We loved this place and definitely would stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at La Demeure Montaigne. The hotel was beautiful, elegant and exceptionally clean, and the location was absolutely perfect. Our room was very comfortable, the bed was excellent, and the housekeeping service was outstanding. What made our stay truly special was the staff. Everyone we met was professional, welcoming, friendly and always ready to help. The check-in and check-out process was extremely smooth and efficient, and every request was handled quickly and with a smile. The level of service throughout our stay was exceptional. We genuinely felt very well looked after and would happily stay here again. La Demeure Montaigne truly deserves the highest rating, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Paris.

La Demeure Montaigne exceeded expectations from start to finish. The location is ideal, just steps from the Arc de Triomphe with incredible restaurants and shopping right outside the door. The rooms are spotless and surprisingly spacious for a Paris hotel. Nothing felt cramped. The service was exceptional throughout, and the food was outstanding. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to help with anything we needed. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Paris who wants a great location paired with top tier service.

We stayed at this fabulous hotel for five nights. It’s in a great location and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. We even got upgraded to a room with a balcony. The beds, sheets and pillows are comfortable. The service was great too. Everyone was so helpful. The body wash smells fantastic and you can buy the body wash at the spa downstairs. The only complaints is the fridge does not keep anything cold. It is not a real fridge and the bathroom layout I was not a fan of. The shower floor was slippery and the sink was to big so there was not a lot of room for personal items in the bathroom. But other than that, I thought the hotel was fabulous and I would definitely Stay here again.

Stayed here my last night in Paris and it was amazing! The pool and spa amenities are beautiful! We ordered room service and it came quick and was tasty. Location is prime and right in the middle of everything. Lots of lighting in the room as well. Whole hotel had a very elegant ambiance, I wish I could’ve stayed more nights! The bar on the first level made well made drinks. The free breakfast in the morning was soo good, the fresh detox juice hit different! 10/10 would definitely stay again
Paul van Minnen★★★★★
A genuine five star experience, Parisian style. We stayed three nights at Hotel La Demeure Montaigne during a recent trip to Paris and it delivered on every front. Booking a hotel in this part of the city always carries some risk of paying for the postcode rather than the product. That is not the case here. The location is excellent, but the hotel stands on its own. Position first, because it matters. You are minutes on foot from the Champs Élysées, surrounded by the luxury houses of the Golden Triangle, and close enough to a cluster of genuinely good local restaurants that you never feel trapped in tourist territory. For anyone who takes coffee seriously, there are proper specialty roasters within an easy walk, which is not something every Paris hotel neighbourhood can claim. We covered a lot of ground on foot from the front door and rarely needed a taxi. The staff were the standout on a human level. Attentive without hovering, warm without being performative, and consistently professional. Every request was handled quickly and without fuss. Small accommodations were made without us having to ask twice, and there was a sense that the team actually took pride in the place rather than simply working there. That tone runs from reception through to housekeeping. The room was beautifully appointed. Contemporary, well maintained, and clearly kept to a high standard rather than resting on past renovations. Everything worked as it should. Housekeeping was impeccable, both in the daily service and in the attention to detail. The bathroom is the one honest caveat. It is compact, and the shower sits over the bathtub rather than standing separately. If you are expecting a sprawling marble suite this will register. That said, it was spotless, well finished and entirely functional, and in a Parisian building of this character the constraint is understandable. It did not detract from the stay in any meaningful way. Breakfast is served in an indoor courtyard beneath a beautiful glass roof, which is one of the more pleasant spaces we have eaten in anywhere. The light is lovely in the morning. The food was fresh, varied and well executed, with proper options rather than the usual reheated buffet compromise. The highlight, unexpectedly, was the basement spa. A large pool, an excellent jacuzzi, and both dry and steam saunas. It is a serious facility, not a token wellness corner. Complimentary healthy snacks and drinks are available, which is a small touch that says a lot about how the hotel thinks. After a long day walking the city it was exactly what we wanted, and we used it more than we expected to. Taken together, this is a five star stay executed with restraint and confidence. No theatre, no excess, just consistently high standards across accommodation, service, food and facilities. It is a hotel that understands its guests and delivers accordingly. We will not be looking elsewhere on our next visit to Paris. Highly recommended.

SO/ Paris is an excellent hotel. The location is unbeatable, and the staff is extremely attentive and friendly. Breakfast is amazing, not only because of the quality and variety, but also because of the incredible setting on the 15th floor, with beautiful views over Paris. The buffet is outstanding, and the service is a 10/10. I stayed for 12 nights and had an excellent experience. The room was very comfortable, and even small details like the water pressure in the shower were fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

My stay was absolutely wonderful, and what truly made it exceptional was the incredible staff. Every person I interacted with went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and cared for. The spa was one of the highlights of my trip. Trinity gave me an amazing massage that was relaxing, restorative, and exactly what I needed. Michaella gave me a fantastic facial and was so knowledgeable and attentive. They both created such a peaceful experience, and I left feeling completely refreshed. I also want to recognize Jesús and Guillaume at the front desk. They were always warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Whether I had a question or needed assistance, they greeted me with genuine kindness and made every interaction a pleasure. Their hospitality made me feel truly at home. Thank you to everyone for making my stay so memorable. I can't wait to return and will gladly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Paris.

We had an excellent six night stay at SO/ Paris. The room was exactly as advertised. Very clean, quiet (couldn't hear any other guests), good view of the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, and big by European standards. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The location is fantastic. The in-room breakfast and restaurant breakfast buffet were good enough. The 16th floor bar had great views of the city. You're on the outskirts of La Marais, so it's very quiet. It's a 5 minute walk to the St. Paul area of La Marais, and a 10 minute walk to Latin Quarter. There's a metro stop right outside. We'll definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Paris.

I stayed at the Raffles last summer and wanted to try something different this time and picked the SO/ as it is also associated with the ACCOR group. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and appreciated the help of all staff. The room was clean, modern and comfortable - though the only downside is that it is missing a bidet. The breakfast was also very good with a great view of Paris including the Eiffel Tower. Even though it is a bit farther out from the typical Paris attractions, I would recommend staying here.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for quite a while now, and it has become one of my favorite places in Paris. The food is consistently delicious, the ambiance is warm and cozy, and it’s a place where I always feel comfortable spending time. It’s also quite spacious, which makes it perfect for bringing friends and family. Everyone I’ve brought here has had a wonderful experience. One of my absolute favorites is the chicken momos. They’re generously filled with a flavorful, juicy filling, and the mint chutney that comes with them is incredible I never get enough of it! The rest of the menu is equally impressive, and everything I’ve tried has been fresh and full of flavor. I also have to mention the chai. I love a rich, milky chai, and they make it exactly the way I like it. It’s the perfect way to end a meal. Overall, this is a place I genuinely enjoy and keep coming back to. The food, the atmosphere, and the overall experience are always excellent. I’ll definitely continue bringing my friends and family here because it’s truly one of my favorite spots in Paris.

A great restaurant with delicious food and authentic flavor. I stopped by little yak and ordered two order of the momo as well as some Liangphi and butter tea. All of the dishes were great. The Sichuan sauce that came with one order of the momo is definitely something I would recommend. Don't skip on the butter tea either! If you've never tried it, it's definitely something new but delicious nonetheless. The service is quick and the ambiance was homey. All in all, I would recommend little yak if you're craving some warm, comforting food.

This was our second stay. The food outlets are great, they have three and they’re all very good. The blackout shades are amazing, they almost work too well 😉 Modern showers, which we enjoy (much as l love all things French, the vintage shower handles in tubs can be an adventure to get used to!) Location is excellent. Close to great shopping, very walkable, safe area, tons of local cafes nearby. You can easily walk to Champs Élysées, Seine, Louvre and D’Orsay both minutes away on foot. Their housekeeping is very patient with late sleepers suffering from jet lag and messing up their schedule 🙂 We usually switch neighborhoods midway through our trip, for different vibes, but love Madame Rêvé. We feel the cost, options, and service are perfectly in line. We look for hotels that are adult friendly, without a ton of children, since we’re looking to relax and have a romantic time away (no unruly kids or parents who let their kids run amuck and impact other people’s experiences). My only request would be insulated coffee pots for room service for those looking to enjoy the coffee while watching the rain come down (which is a lovely way to spend a rainy morning in Paris - relaxing and romantic). We have stayed at the Peninsula, Hotel Lancaster, Saint James, and Madame Rêvé for reference. All lovely, but Madame Rêvé‘s location is perfect for us/what we’re looking for - close to a lot, but doesn’t feel too touristy.

We had a wonderful stay at Madame Rêve in Paris. The staff were excellent throughout our visit — professional, friendly, and very welcoming. The bartenders were also great, and we really enjoyed the drinks. We had recently gotten engaged, and the hotel made the stay feel even more special by giving us complimentary champagne, as well as complimentary juice on another occasion. Those thoughtful touches were very much appreciated and made a strong impression. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a large bed and automatic curtains. The location was also excellent, with easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, and cafés nearby. Overall, this was a beautiful hotel with great service, comfortable rooms, and a fantastic location. We would happily stay here again.

Amazing hotel with great service. The team are so friendly and welcoming and it was like that throughout the stay. Will definitely be back. La Plume was sublime - food was first class and vibe was brilliant with a live DJ at just the right tone and befitting the ambience. It is an understated gem and one of those places you only know if you know. Would highly recommend - as very central and walkable to some of Paris’ key highlights - Louvre and Notre Dame as well as subway links. Thank you for a great stay!

Tips for Choosing a Hotel in Paris

Finding the right hotel in Paris requires a slightly different approach than in other major cities. The city’s layout is compact but dense, and a hotel’s star rating does not always reflect its actual comfort or charm. Before you book, consider these practical insights to ensure your stay matches your expectations and your itinerary.

1). Prioritize the arrondissement over the landmark

The Eiffel Tower is lovely, but staying directly next to it often means being surrounded by tourist traps and limited dining options. Neighborhoods like Le Marais (3rd/4th), Saint-Germain-des-Prés (6th), and South Pigalle (9th) offer a more authentic daily rhythm. Think about what you want to do in the evenings—if you love wine bars, do not book a hotel in the business district of La Défense just because it is cheaper.

2). Check the air conditioning before booking in summer

Many historic Parisian buildings were not designed for modern climate control. While most luxury hotels have retrofitted their rooms, some boutique properties in older buildings still rely on portable units or fans. If you are traveling between June and September, confirm that the room has individual, reliable air conditioning. A heatwave in Paris can make an attic room unbearable.

3). Understand that room sizes are smaller than you expect

A standard room in a central Parisian hotel can be as small as 12 to 15 square meters. This is normal, but it can feel shocking if you are used to American or Asian hotel standards. If space is important to you, book a superior or deluxe category room rather than the entry-level classic. The extra few square meters make a significant difference for luggage and movement.

4). Look for a hotel with a 24-hour front desk and elevator

Many charming, historic buildings have converted their upper floors into rooms but lack elevators. If you are traveling with heavy luggage or have mobility concerns, always verify that an elevator is available. Similarly, a 24-hour reception is invaluable for late arrivals, early departures, or simply having someone available for recommendations at odd hours.

5). Do not underestimate the value of a good breakfast

Parisian breakfasts at hotels can range from a simple croissant and coffee to an elaborate buffet with eggs, charcuterie, and fresh juices. If the hotel includes breakfast or offers a reasonable rate, it can save you time and money compared to eating at a café every morning. However, if the hotel charges €35 per person, you are often better off walking to the nearest boulangerie for a €2 pastry and a café crème.

6). Book well in advance for fashion week and major holidays

Paris is a global business and cultural hub, and hotel prices spike dramatically during events like Paris Fashion Week, the French Open, and the Christmas holidays. If your dates are flexible, avoid these periods. If not, book three to six months ahead to secure both availability and a more reasonable rate.

Choosing a hotel in Paris is part of the adventure. It is about finding that perfect threshold to step through after a long day of exploring, a place that feels like a refuge from the city’s intensity while still keeping you connected to its pulse.

Ultimately, the best hotel for you is the one that aligns with how you want to experience the city. Whether you opt for a storied palace on the Right Bank or a design-led hideaway in the 10th, the right room can turn a good trip into an unforgettable one. Take your time, consider your priorities, and let the city do the rest.
