17 Best Restaurants in Nice

The dining scene in Nice is a vibrant reflection of its unique position on the French Riviera. Wedged between the turquoise Mediterranean and the foothills of the Alps, the city offers a culinary identity distinct from the rest of France. It is deeply influenced by Niçoise traditions, Provençal ingredients, and a historic connection to neighboring Italy.

Unlike the heavy, cream-based cuisine often associated with Paris, the food here is vibrant, sun-soaked, and vegetable-forward. Staples include olive oil, tomatoes, garlic, anchovies, and the famous chickpea flour pancake known as socca. Eating out is a beloved pastime, ranging from grabbing a quick slice of pissaladière to settling in for a long, multi-course dinner.

Navigating the sheer volume of restaurants can be overwhelming, especially in the tourist-heavy Old Town (Vieux Nice). While there is incredible food to be found, there are also many tourist traps serving mediocre fare. Knowing where the locals go is the key to unlocking the true flavors of the city.

This guide focuses on quality, authenticity, and value. We have curated a list that spans from historic bistros serving traditional Niçoise recipes to modern, inventive kitchens pushing the boundaries of Mediterranean cuisine. Whether you are looking for a romantic terrace or a quick market-fresh lunch, this list has you covered.

Below, you will find our selection of the best places to eat right now. We have prioritized venues that consistently deliver excellent food, genuine hospitality, and a true sense of place. Get ready to explore the culinary soul of the Côte d’Azur.

We showed up on a Thursday noon without reservation but luckily they were able to seat us out outside on the sidewalk tables which were very charming - especially with the nice weather in May. We had a bumpy start with the entrees the Mousseline de courgettes fleurs (Zucchini blossom mousseline) and Sablé breton de parmesan (Breton parmesan shortbread) just did not hit the right note with us as nothing stood out taste-wise. But then the main courses arrived and they were divine. The French beef cheek stew (Daube de joues de bœuf française) was easily the best thing my tastebuds had tried the whole week we spent exploring Cote d'Azur. The stew arrived in a polenta cloud which tasted out of this world too. I've never tasted polenta with a texture like that. And the little pieces of vegetables swimming in this cloud were so full of tastes - amazing! The Roasted sea bream fillet (Filet de daurade rôti) was very tasty as well. The ravioli stuffed with artichoke leaves (ravioles et feuilles d’artichauts breton farcies) which were on the side made the whole dish special. Together with the fish, they created an entirely new taste perspective - well recommended. When it came time for desert, we tried the Warm dark chocolate tart (Tarte tiède au chocolat noir) which we found to be so-so but the Soufflé au grand Marnier accompanied by sorbet from exotic fruits tasted amazing. Throughout the whole this time, the service was super attentive and they went out of their way to oblige us when we shared we only had 45min to complete the whole lunch as we had a plane to catch. Awesome work guys, respect! All in all, Les Sens is a well recommended culinary experience when you are visiting Nice. I wish there was an extra star to give to these special restaurants that make your entire vacation a memorable experience.
Eddie G.★★★★★
A really nice atmosphere and really good food and experience. We ordered the Zucchini blossom and Crab appetizers and both were very good. The main dishes were the roasted pigeon and sea bass and both were very good. Finally we shared a souffle for dessert and it rounded out a great night and experience. The service and staff were all involved in key times throughout the dinner and were all outstanding and very friendly. When we return to Nice we would love to eat here again.

An amazing resteraunt in the heart of Nice. We had a set menu (menu of the week) and it did not disappoint. The food looked amazing and tasted delicious. Could not fault the service. All the staff were friendly and professional. Booking is essential. My only critique is that as it's only open for a few hours in the evening it did feel very rushed between courses so did not really have time to relax between each plate, this is just my opinion and it would not put me off coming again.

Don’t understand how this place can get such a good rating. Food was awful. I ordered the three-course meal with cod. The appetizer stuffed vegetables looked good but tasted blend. The main dish cod was way too salty I couldn’t finish. The sauce was there just for decoration, not matching or enhancing the food. The dessert was again just for the look, it tasted too sweet and heavy with no layers of flavors. The service was way below par for an upscale restaurant. The waiters just put food on the table with no explanations and no asking about how we liked the food. No smile. Even the restroom was kind of dirty. I thought I was going for a relatively fine dining place but the quality was completely unacceptable. Do not go.

A wonderful lunch experience in Nice. The food was excellent from start to finish. Each dish was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared. The zucchini flower starter was delicate and elegant, the cod was perfectly cooked and flaky, and the soufflé dessert was absolutely superb—light, airy, and a perfect ending to the meal. The duck breast was particularly flavorful, paired with an excellent sauce and accompaniments. It was slightly tougher to chew than I would have preferred, but the taste was outstanding. The only other minor criticism is that the cod was a bit oversalted for my palate, which slightly overshadowed the natural sweetness of the fish. A special mention goes to the lovely waitress, who was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout the meal. She even treated us to a shot of the restaurant’s homemade passion fruit rum. It was incredibly strong, but also a fun and memorable touch that added personality to the experience. Overall, a refined and enjoyable dining experience with beautiful presentation, excellent flavors, and wonderful hospitality. I would happily return and recommend it to anyone visiting Nice.

Amazing resteraunt, lovely food at very reasonable prices, we arrived just as it opened in the evening and there was already another large table waiting at the door too. Clearly very popular in the area and it is obvious as to why. We sat outside and they even provided some bug spray for us once it got dark. I liked how all the meals came with nice crispy herby roasted potatoes instead of chips, it reflected the extra care and attention put in to the food. I wish I could come back to try the rest of the stuff on the menu.

Service was friendly and attentive, and the roasted feta starter was delicious. The beef rib steak was disappointing though. It was cooked correctly, but the meat itself was tough and chewy — as you can see in the photos, I couldn’t eat about a third of it, and another third was fat. Maybe a third of the plate was actually good. For €28 they should pay more attention to the cut they’re using for this dish

One of the few restaurants that i would definitely come back to. Amazing food, great service and local vibes! We tried their roasted Camembert with truffles, burrata/ tomatoes and octopus stew. Authentic flavors and definitely should give it a try. Don’t miss their desserts. The baba is literally on fire and their creme burlee is to die for

Had a fabulous, friendly French dinner here. The staff / owner was very friendly and amazingly attentive. The food was excellent and delicious and obviously the chef was amazing. The flaming rhum baba was exceptionally light and tasty. Highly recommended.

One of the best meals I’ve had in Nice! First of all, the staff at Le Bouchon were so welcoming! We didn’t speak French and we were still welcomed warmly by the kind lady that runs the show. There’s an English menu available too to make things easier for tourists. She’s super attentive and very nice, we felt right at home. One of the best eating experiences I’ve experienced anywhere, much better service than Michelin star restaurants I’ve been to in France. Come and experience what France truly can offer in terms of food and dinning. Reservation is highly recommended as the restaurant is full and reserve early too because it’s a very popular restaurant. The food is superb! Everything was so good and the best part is you won’t break your wallet like the other restaurants in Nice. I loved every bite! It’s very good french cuisine. I will definitely come back again if I visit Nice. Thank you for the lovely meal, Le Bouchon.

We had an absolutely incredible visit at L’Alchimie. There is a profound attention to detail, and the passion for food, flavors, and texture is apparent in every dish or drink you’ll try. We also had attentive, thoughtful service from every member of the staff, and received amazing recommendations. We enjoyed the pigeon and slow-roasted lamb shank (both were un.real.!!!) , and the chocolate sphere for dessert. To me, the star of the show was their bar program. Every cocktail was so perfectly balanced, unique/interesting, and absolutely delicious - I had such a hard time deciding between ordering the same one and trying something new… I opted to try a new one each time and couldn’t be happier that i did. Each was better than the last. If you’re thinking about coming in, don’t wait - you will only regret not coming in sooner!!

An absolutely incredible meal. Michelin star quality at extremely reasonable prices. The beef tartare was the best I’ve had anywhere in my life. 10/10

I celebrated my birthday here, and it was a wonderful experience. The service was very attentive, and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming even though the place was packed. Since we visited during peak season, we made sure to reserve a table in advance, as walk-ins weren’t allowed. The food was delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this place!

L’Alchimie is a true gem in Nice. The restaurant lives up to its name, creating a beautiful balance between creativity and refinement. Each dish feels thoughtfully composed, with flavors that are bold yet harmonious, highlighting excellent seasonal ingredients. The menu shows real originality without losing its soul—every plate tells a story, and the execution is spot on. The atmosphere is intimate and welcoming, making it perfect for a relaxed evening or a special occasion.
Leo Perez★★★★★
Outstanding chef driven quality menu, wonderfully presented - and you eat with the eyes here. Roman, our server, is a real pro, courteous and efficient - speaks very good English too. Not to be missed!

99 year old family restaurant that is absolutely delicious and a must come to when in Nice! We got a reservation for lunch and so happy we did! The entire family was so nice and it’s so cute to see them all working together! Will be on my list to come back to next time 🙂

Everything was perfect! Welcoming staff, delicious food and dessert. The fig duck steak and gorgonzola steak were unique and amazing, and the crème brûlée with crunchy roasted pine nuts was outstanding. Thank you for the wonderful birthday surprise for my daughter. It was a flawless dining experience! Highly recommend booking in advance!

We had an unforgettable experience at Chez Acchiardo. From the moment we walked in, everything felt special—the warm, authentic atmosphere, the charming decor, and the sense of history woven into every detail. What truly stood out was the story behind the restaurant. Hearing about the owner and how they used to make wine with his grandfather added such a personal and meaningful touch. It’s rare to find a place where tradition and passion are so deeply felt. And the food—absolutely incredible. Every dish was exceptional, from the perfectly prepared meat to the rich, flavorful ravioli, and the desserts that were the perfect ending to the meal. You can really taste the care and quality in everything they serve. This is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience. I would go back in a heartbeat. Make reservations!

One of the best restaurants in Nice! Family business since 1927, extremely tasteful recipes and the ambience is cozy and friendly. The service is 5 stars, we have been attended by Najet, such a lovely person and she knows the products so well! She made some incredible recommendations. Big thank you as well to Jean Francois for his warm welcoming. I can’t wait to be back!
Nikki★★★★★
This place has become such a huge trend on social media, ao it's not a surprise that it's always busy. We had a reservation for 9pm but still had to wait about 15-20 minutes for our table. Even at that time the restaurant was packed inside and there was a queue outside. That said, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We were seated in the lower dinning area at a spacious corner table, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The food was delicious, the portions were generous and we had a great overall experience. Highly recommend this place. Keep up the good work! 👏

I did a lot of research before coming to Bocca Mar and I was having trouble deciding between this beach club vs some of the others. After spending my whole day here with my husband on our honeymoon- I am so happy with my decision. Geoffrey was high energy and kind from the minute I walked in at 9 am. He was polite, funny, and provided us amazing service. From 9 am until I left at 3 pm, I watched him work so hard in the blazing heat and walking all over the rocky beach. He was consistantly greeting guests, checking in, offering food and drinks, helping people with the umbrellas, and even brought many people extra umbrellas as the sun shifted throughout the day ( 2nd umbrella was 5 euro- extremely reasonable and worth it). In the morning, they serve iced coffees (which are hard to come by in France) and croissants. Kitchen opened at 12, where we tried some drinks, the calamari, fries, and burrata. All delicious and presented well. The loungers were comfy, I reserved 2 for 30 euro each as well as 2 towels for 9 euro each. Geoffrey also offered use of Bocca Mar’s paddle board and blow up float ring for free. What a beautiful beach, we had the best time. Don’t forget your water shoes, the rocks would be impossible without them.

The food was delicious. Views were fantastic. Be advised that you don’t see sunset but you can see the sun light up the buildings on the side. We biked here on the bike shares and it was easy to get to. Great service all around from every single support staff but Alex, our server, was amazing! She was funny, attentive, and her English was perfect! The spaghetti aux gambas was cooked perfectly al dente. 10/10 would recommend! We did the 1930 seating which was a bit of an older crowd and relaxed vibe. The 2100 seating had louder music and a more young fun party vibe.

Bocca Mar was one of the highlights of our trip to Nice! The setting is absolutely beautiful, with a chic Mediterranean atmosphere and stunning sea views. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We especially loved the seafood and the creative cocktails. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and professional without feeling rushed. The combination of great food, amazing ambiance, and exceptional hospitality made for a memorable evening. Highly recommend Bocca Mar for anyone visiting Nice and looking for a stylish, vibrant dining experience on the French Riviera.
Sidney Peh★★★★★
Chance upon this restaurant while walking by the beach and decided to have dinner there. The seafood was really good! Alex, who took our order, was super friendly and always smiling. Really loved the way she engages with people. Her dessert recommendation was amazing too! Must try!
Heather Davis★★★★★
Ramzi, our waiter, was incredibly attentive and friendly, which made our experience even more enjoyable. We started with the calamari and sea bass—both delicious—but the true highlight of our long, leisurely lunch was sipping Palomas and rosé while taking in the stunning views of the Mediterranean along the French Riviera. Compared to other restaurants we’ve visited, Ramzi’s service truly stood out and elevated the entire experience.

Love coming here every season for the new set menu. So delicious every time. You get an option of usually 3 choices per course, app, main, dessert, every option is delicious. Small place with quality ingredients and a tiny but mighty staff, just the chef and the one fabulous waiter. Fast service delicious food all you could want.

Found this restaurant by chance while walking around Nice and didn't expect much but it turned out to be one of the best meals I've had here. The €25 three-course menu is incredible value (honestly feels cheap for Nice), and every dish was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is small, cozy, and has a lovely family-run atmosphere. The owners were super friendly, spoke English, and took the time to explain the menu. Amazing food, great prices, and such a warm experience. Highly recommend!
J G★★★★★
The 25 € menu is available for lunch and dinner. They change the menu every 3 days. I was lucky to get a chair for lunch but reservation is recommended! Service was charming and efficient.

This was our favorite meal of our trip to Nice! Warning: Reservations are hard to come by we dropped by and only reservations available were for 9pm two nights later. We took it. The place is super relaxed. 5 maybe 6 tables which made the difficulty of reservations more understandable. Prix fix menu - 4 appetizers to choose from, 4 entrees and 4 desserts. We were there with somewhat of a limited diet, but the options were awesome. We got a cauliflower appetizer and an artichoke one. Both were excellent. We all had the cod for dinner also delicious - served in a bath of traditional fish soup and with potatoes. The dessert was also excellent - we got the goat cheese in olive oil and garlic, the cream cheese with blueberry compote, lemon cheesecake and cinnamon “tiramisu”. Every bite was full of flavor and such cool takes on the food. Now the intangibles - we arrived for our 9pm reservation, restaurant closes at 9:30 and we probably didn’t walk out until 11:15 and there was still another table of 8 people dining. The host/waiter, Sebastian, was awesome. So friendly and we at no point felt rushed. In fact the opposite. When our daughter was slow in finishing her meal he joked with her instead of hurrying us along. Once we finished our main dish, he casually brought us our dessert and because we didn’t order his favorite (we didn’t know) he brought us out an extra to enjoy. We felt a little bad so somewhat accelerated the dessert phase so we could square up and leave. Instead he was unhurried, he casually cleared our table and chatted with us for a bit. It took us another 15 minutes before we finally said could we get the bill. He brought it to us another 5-7 minutes later. We had a great experience and one of our best meals in France, if not the best.
Kok Koon Tabitha★★★★★
We recently had the pleasure of dining at this lovely spot, and I must say, it was a truly enjoyable experience! The service was top-notch, thanks to the owner who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. He took the time to explain the dishes, checked in with us regularly, and even played fun tricks on us - it was clear they were passionate about creating a memorable experience. The set lunch was absolutely worth it - the portions were perfectly sized, and the food was delicious! We sat outside as they were fully booked, but the vibes inside caught our eye - it's clear that a lot of thought and love has gone into creating a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, we'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and a warm welcome. Well done, and we'll be back for more!

This was my first time trying South African cuisine, and it definitely did not disappoint. We went with the Classique tasting menu, which was more than enough food to leave satisfied. One thing to note: if you want to experience the cheese room, you’ll need to choose the higher-tier menu, which was only about €30 more. The service was impeccable and exactly what you’d expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. Every dish was excellent, but my favorite was the trout, served with a refreshing cucumber-wasabi palate cleanser. The bobotie was another standout and incredibly flavorful. Our server overheard that we were celebrating our anniversary and surprised us with a unique little dessert, which was a really thoughtful touch. The interior is also beautiful, so I’d recommend sitting inside to get the full JAN experience. Definitely worth a visit while in Nice.
Jen★★★★★
This one star Michelin restaurant blew my mind! Definitely one of the best ones I’ve ever been to. They were so kind to seat us 1 hour earlier than our reservation. The dishes were impeccable - beautifully presented and artistic, with incredibly bold and unique flavors. I loved the South African influence, and it was so cool the menu had a detailed description of the incorporated South African cuisine. It’s so hard to choose a favorite! Perhaps the lobster, trout, or tuna dishes! My least favorite was the duck because it was on the chewy side, but it was still enjoyable. All the other dishes were pretty close to perfect. The cheese room was such a unique experience! You walk across the street to enjoy a self-serve array of cheese with different snack pairings, plus they give you bread and some wine. At the end of the meal, we got a boxed cake/ biscuit to go, and a book about the chef. Amazing Michelin Star experience!
Jasper Stuyven★★★★☆
Great occasion getting some South African influences and tastes in our dishes! As couple spending some winters in SA, it was great to see the different signature ingredients/dishes of SA coming back in a culinary dinner ! Well done! Service was very friendly and a sommelier not pushing us in a certain direction. Ofcourse nice SA wine list which brought us straight back to SA as well. Everyone talks about the cheese room and have to admit it’s a very original concept, although it doesn’t give you any idea which one to choose from if you’re familiar with different sort of cheeses. As we also experience in a lot of SA restaurants, the AC is always a bit too cold ;-)!

We traveled from New York to Nice for vacation and I decided to book a reservation at JAN as a special experience for the final night of our vacation. My visit was one of the best culinary experiences I've had! The uniqueness of the dishes allowed us to be adventurous with food we may not necessarily have tried before and we enjoyed every bite and moment. The service itself was impeccable and the staff were very knowledgeable and a delight. I highly recommend JAN for a memorable and unique Michelin Star experience if you're in Nice.
JSB★★★★★
We cannot express enough how much we enjoyed our meal! This restaurant deserves more than 1 Michelin star!!’ Each course was elegantly prepared and served. The attention to detail by the chefs and wait staff was out of this world! Much better than many Michelin 2 star restaurants where we have dined. The atmosphere made you not want to leave! The cheese experience was like none other! A special thanks to Jan and his wonderful team; Tensile, Marizen, Lauren, Pierrick, Rieba, and especially Damien! We left the restaurant and went immediately to their sister restaurant to make a reservation! We cannot wait to go back! Jan is a must when in Nice!

We had a very enjoyable dinner at La Cucina during our stay in Nice. The service was warm, friendly, and professional from start to finish. The staff were attentive, welcoming, and helped make the evening pleasant and relaxed. The food was very good. We started with the tomato and burrata salad, which was fresh, beautifully presented, and made with quality ingredients. For the main courses, we ordered the lamb shank and the truffle cream pasta. The lamb shank was tender and flavorful, while the truffle pasta was rich, creamy, and satisfying. Dessert was also excellent and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was generally pleasant, and the restaurant has a cozy, authentic feel. However, there was an intermittent sewage odor that was noticeable during parts of our meal and unfortunately affected the overall dining experience. Without that issue, the atmosphere would have been much more enjoyable. Overall, the food and service were strong, and we left satisfied with our meal. The service deserves 5 stars, the food 5 stars, and the atmosphere 4 stars due to the odor issue. A very good restaurant in Nice that is worth visiting, especially for the quality of the food and the hospitality

We arrived late and restaurant was full. They kindly recieved us , and we could wait with a drink until a table was free. The staff is very kind and theres a good vibe. Had such a lovely experience at La Cucina in Nice! 🇫🇷🍝 The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were so friendly, warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was fantastic, and we felt like we were sitting at the chef’s table with the incredible attention we received throughout the evening — nothing was too much trouble. We had to wait for a table, but it was 100% worth the wait! The whole experience was fabulous from start to finish. A definite restaurant to visit in Nice and somewhere I’d highly recommend. ❤️

Incredible Italian cuisine from a family owned restaurant set in the heart of nice. I was blown away by everything I ate. Each dish was bursting with flavour and freshness. I recommend that everyone who spends time in Nice to go here. The venue is small so get there right when it opens so you can ensure that you can enjoy this gem.

Really excellent experience at Maison de Marie. The service was genuinely outstanding: attentive without being overbearing, very friendly, and the staff all had a great sense of humour which made the whole atmosphere feel relaxed and welcoming. The food was also fantastic. The foie gras was rich and beautifully prepared, the prawn linguine came with genuinely succulent prawns, and both the gnocchi and escargot were excellent. Everything felt fresh, well cooked, and full of flavour. The only small point worth mentioning is that the kitchen closes at 2:30pm, which felt a little unusual for a beach town restaurant. It also meant some fish dishes , particularly anything requiring longer preparation, were unavailable, so the menu became a bit more limited later into lunch service. That aside, we had a brilliant meal and would happily return. Great food, great service, and a really enjoyable atmosphere.

What a great restaurant! Easily our best dinner in Nice. Absolutely loved the mains with the daube being the best one we've had yet. The octopus was outstanding, and the chocolate mousse was delicious although interesting (never had truffle and olive oil with mousse before). Service is amazing and the restaurant is in a beautiful tucked away setting. Very atmospheric and highly recommended!

We had a wonderful dinner at La Maison de Marie in Nice while celebrating with a party of 4. We ordered several different dishes to share, and everything was excellent. The highlight of the evening was definitely the lamb shoulder for two – it was incredibly tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The portions were generous, making it great value for the quality of the food. To finish the meal, we ordered the Pavlova for dessert, and it was an absolute must-have! Light, fresh, and beautifully presented, it was the perfect ending to a fantastic dining experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We would highly recommend La Maison de Marie to anyone visiting Nice and looking for a memorable meal. We will definitely return on our next trip!

Great food, but the terrible service ruined our final night in France. The chefs here are incredibly talented. The beef with ravioli and the seafood in bisque sauce were fantastic. Sadly, the front of house staff ruined the hard work of the kitchen. We were ignored for 30 minutes after being seated, while tables who arrived after us ordered first. No focaccia is served while other tables got served once seated. After finally getting our food (which came out quickly), trying to pay took forever. Two different servers ignored our request for the bill, and my partner had to stand up at the table like a beacon just to get someone to take our money. A simple meal of just mains and drinks dragged on for 2.5 hours solely due to staff incompetency. Instead of a nice final stroll through Nice, we had to sprint to the train station. Brilliant kitchen, but the service is lacking and is an absolute joke.

We are outside under a beautiful canopy of green. Food was excellent and one of the best meals we had in France including Paris. I had the La Marmite. de Marie (fish stew) and he had the Beef Daube. Both had amazing flavors. Naomi was our server and was fast, efficient, pleasant and played with our American humor and made us laugh.

I would say we had the best dinner of our stay in the South of France. The duck was amazing, and the truffle pasta was simply scrumptious. We will definitely visit again in the future. Highly recommended! It’s also very cosy.

Le Vingt4 was a wonderful surprise in the heart of Nice. The dishes were carefully prepared and elegantly plated, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout the evening. A great address for anyone looking for refined French cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. The chocolate mousse was equally impressive: smooth, intense, and beautifully presented. Highly recommended!

The only complaint is that we couldn’t stop eating. The food was perfection on a plate, the price was great for food and wine. The wine selection is amazing but we stayed with the house wine and were not disappointed. Make a reservation, the restaurant has limited seating.

An exceptional dining experience in every sense. This is truly one of the finest restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. Every dish reflects meticulous attention to detail—from the presentation to the balance of flavors. Even the temperature of each plate is carefully maintained, which really highlights the kitchen’s precision. The service is excellent—fast, professional, and genuinely attentive. The staff are polite and well-trained, creating a very comfortable and refined atmosphere. The only “downside,” if anything, is that the food is so good it’s hard to stop eating. Overall, a memorable experience that I would gladly repeat and recommend.

Highly recommend the octopus stew and the Iberian pork dish. We ordered one octopus stew to share and it was already split in half and beautifully plated out of the kitchen. The pork dish was excellent: the sauce was very smooth, pork was tender inside and crispy on the surface. Overall, this dish had a great combination of flavors and there’s a little pleasant surprise in the midst of the sauce. My partner had the fish dish. The sauce was great, fish was very fresh. But we both said that we have tasted fish of similar level at other restaurants. Nothing to pick about, but certainly not as special as the pork. Dessert was a little bit of disappointment. Ordered the lemon soufflé. Very beautiful presentation but it was way too sweet. If you have a sweet tooth, maybe this is good for you. The staff made me question my comment a little, but coming to Google review I see I’m not the only one after all. Surprise coffee was fun and creative, again love the presentation and the thought put in it. Overall, lovely experience and the dishes have lived up to the price tag. I hope the chef takes this up as a challenge to make the taste of the soufflé as pleasant as it looks:) I’m still digesting the sugar 🙂
Shirley Wu★★★★☆
Both the duck liver terrine and the Iberian pork were excellent. A bit disappointed with the soufflé- the first one served came completely burnt: excuse me? Am I expected to eat it? How could the kitchen release the food to the customer? I had to ask for a replacement. It’s a pleasant surprise that the soufflé came with ice cream in it, especially on a hot summer day. However the dessert is a bit too sweet.

Amazing starter. Nice restaurant with good food. The veal is super tender and the fish cake is refreshing. Scallops with risotto is also charming. We were here for 4 days and have dinner for 2 times . Recommended. The tarte tartin is very nice, better than the soufflé I think. A reservation is quite necessary for dinner.

Probably the best restaurant I went to in Nice, France. Food and service were both amazing. I was seated outside and the seats were a bit tight (hence the -1 star for atmosphere). Everything else was amazing. Their seafood (especially raw seafood) was so fresh and delicious. Highly recommend this spot. Make a reservation ahead of time!!! One of the best restaurants in Nice, France!!

More or less authentic Italian style. No aircondition inside the restaurant. Short, limited bistro style menu on boards shown, same with drinks and desserts. You could call it sustainability also 🙂 The meals were ok, but not a waw. Prices in acceptable range.

Peppino’s was soo good we had to go there twice for dinner during our 1 week stay in Nice. The lasagne was delicious! It’s a very cute restaurant with vibey outdoor seating. A hidden gem in Nice. However, the tables are quite small and it can get a little cramped.

The best Italian restaurant in Nice with the most welcoming servers. The food was outstanding, every dish fresh and full of flavour. Fabulous meal! The charcuterie board is plentiful with good variety. We ordered the veal, lasagna and gnocchi, all were delicious and can be recommended. The gnocchi was next level delicious- you shouldn’t miss it! Tiramisu and Apricot tart for dessert, each superb! The service was top notch! This place was wonderful! Great ambiance/decor, comfortable seating and very generous portions! The sea bass was excellent and my kids liked the pasta on the kids’ menu. The veal Milanese was mediocre (dry and not too much flavor) and the beef was good, not amazing. The truffle pasta was very good. The service, by our waiter Ryan, was amazing. He was so helpful and attentive and kept us with water and butter for the bread constantly, which was a hit with our kids! And the atmosphere is darling! And the AC is wonderful, especially in this horrific heatwave. All in all, this was a wonderful lunch spot for our family and we highly recommend it!

Fantastic food. Prices are reasonable for the south of France. The prawn cocktail was wonderful, as was the duck and sea bream. Their mango daiquiri cocktail was also very tasty. We went on a Sunday night which was pleasantly busy, but make sure you book a table. Ordering was a little slow due to the business, but our waiter still made sure to check in on and us and food came relatively quickly once we did order. The indoor decor is stunning. However do note if you book the terrace that it is a table on the street, we thought it’d be on a rooftop overlooking the city!

Truly amazing food! Ryan is the best server. He had excellent recommendations and we thoroughly enjoyed everything that we tried. He was very attentive. Atmosphere was 10/10 with live music. Once again, Ryan is amazing!

Perfect evening spent here, great food that arrives pretty fast and wonderful live entertainment. The decor is absolutely stunning. And service from our beautiful server Daniela was top notch. Would highly recommend Felix for anyone visiting Nice

Amazing food, really delicious and great service. The only downside is we booked a table for 2 in advance hoping to have a romantic meal, and when we arrived we were sat next to a table of 6 rowdy loud ladies. And there were 3 tables of couples on the other end. It would be a good idea to give couples privacy and a quiet area. Rather than in the same small room of a larger table.

We were a party of four. We had very good Lebanese food, which according to our experience was very authentic. I expected a bit more raffinesse and non meat options but overall the experience was great and a very welcome change to having Mediterranean food on most of the other days. Super nice chef and service!

An amazing experience at Le Cèdre in Nice! This restaurant deserves not only to be in the Michelin Guide, but truly deserves a Michelin star. From the presentation, to the taste, to the warm accueil and service, everything was exceptional. Without a doubt, one of the best culinary experiences on the Côte d’Azur. As a Lebanese person, I can honestly say that this restaurant elevates Lebanese cuisine beautifully — innovative and creative while fully respecting its authenticity and soul. We chose the Chef Gourmet Menu paired with a wonderful Lebanese wine, and every dish was refined, flavorful, and memorable. It was also the perfect place to celebrate my birthday. Excellent value for money and an experience I highly recommend to anyone visiting Nice or the Côte d’Azur.

An exceptional Lebanese dining experience at Le Cèdre in Nice, where father-and-son chefs Jean and Anthony bring generous, innovative Lebanese flavors to life with their own creative interpretations. A beautiful balance of tradition and modernity—every dish is full of character, warmth, and delicious surprises.
Steve Lahos★★★★★
Le Cèdre in Nice offers a genuine taste of Lebanese cuisine, delivered with precision and authenticity. We chose the chef’s signature menu, and it turned out to be an excellent decision. The chef himself has a rather reserved, almost cold demeanor, but in a way that reflects professionalism rather than distance — straight to the point, no unnecessary embellishments, fully focused on his craft. He is supported by younger family members who handle the service with the same level of professionalism. Their presence adds warmth to the experience, balancing the chef’s more stoic personality and creating a smooth, attentive service throughout the evening. The food brought an impressive variety of flavors, textures, and aromas. Every ingredient felt fresh, thoughtfully selected, and carefully prepared. If you appreciate Lebanese cuisine, this is a place where you simply can’t go wrong — the dishes speak for themselves. The restaurant is small, which adds to its charm, though it also means that a bit of luck 🍀 is needed to secure a particularly good table. We were fortunate to be seated at a lovely spot, discreet enough that our Cocker Spaniel could comfortably stay hidden and relaxed during the meal — a small detail that made the evening even more enjoyable. Overall, Le Cèdre is a solid choice for anyone seeking authentic Lebanese flavors in Nice, delivered with professionalism, family spirit, and culinary confidence
Luca Catello Sannino★☆☆☆☆
We chose this restaurant based on its Michelin mention, which made the experience even more disappointing. For our group dinner, we were served their so-called “gourmet” menu (43.50€ per person, drinks not included), exactly as advertised on their website — so no special arrangement was made for us. On top of that, as a group we were required to pay an additional amount for a single glass of wine, without any choice and without even being presented the bottle. The wine itself was of very poor quality. Despite having booked and prepaid well in advance, we were split into two separate tables (15 and 5 people) placed at the entrance, while the main dining room was occupied by a large tourist group receiving identical pre-set meals. The entire experience felt closer to a mass service operation than to a proper restaurant. The food did not meet expectations at all. The warm starter was particularly poor and barely edible, and overall the dishes felt pre-prepared rather than freshly made. Service was also disappointing. The staff came across as inattentive and at times unnecessarily unpleasant, with clear communication difficulties. Considering the pricing, the forced menu structure, and the overall level of execution, this experience does not reflect the standards one would expect from a restaurant associated with a Michelin guide. Not recommended.

What's most impressive is the layer of slightly charred cheese covering the steak. Underneath the steak is a rich mushroom sauce, each bite bursting with flavor. The side salad also complements the steak surprisingly well—unlike many deliberately sour salads, this one is slightly sweet and warm, with even some mushroom sauce clinging to the leaves, allowing you to enjoy both without any clashing flavors. The other dish, lamb couscous, was equally satisfying. The lamb was perfectly cooked, and the ratio of meat, vegetables, and couscous was just right. Even in the last bite, you could still taste the tender lamb and the rich sauce, perfectly blended with the couscous. These two dishes left the three of us completely satisfied. At the end of the meal, the chef thoughtfully served us a small glass of limoncello. I don't usually drink, but the refreshing and fragrant lemon sweetness of this liqueur was irresistible—it felt as if the lemon pulp and peel had been infused into it. The perfect balance of sour, sweet, and slightly bitter flavors left a pleasant aftertaste that lingered long after we left the restaurant.

Food - Perfect. Had the saltimbucca and the crème brulé. Wine was perfect to the dish and food very quickly delivered to the table. Almost to fast. Food so hot the potatos toasted my mouth. Okey so I guess they were in a hurry to get the food out and close the shop - fair enough. But we got the bill without even asking for it and was told they were closing. Clock being 21:45 on a Friday we found tha quite «special». Bottom line. Food great. Service not so much. Correction; Due to the response from the owner I have in all fairness corrected the review from a 3-star to 4-star. The food was indeed very nice. But the service was rushed, and we did in fact feel like we had to eat quickly and get out. So my review in regards to the service still stands 🙂

This has been our best dining experience in Nice, after eating at dozens of restaurants. We loved everything so much that we came back for a second visit—and it was just as wonderful. The cocktails, appetizers, entrées, desserts, and service were all impeccable from start to finish. We especially like the pigeon dish and the appetizer plate. Every member of the staff was incredibly warm and friendly. You can tell everyone was happy and inspired. They even offer a happy-hour menu with exceptional value. This restaurant truly deserves a place in the Michelin Guide. We recommend it wholeheartedly and loved it so much that we may return to Nice just to dine here again. Thank you for everything!

I had a really great meal here. Everything I ordered was delicious and nicely presented. The meat dish was cooked perfectly, and the sauces paired really well with it. But the absolute highlight of the night was the sando. It was incredibly flavorful, perfectly balanced, and just so good an absolute must-try! The atmosphere of the place was very pleasant, and the staff was polite and attentive. The prices are a bit on the expensive side, but given the quality of the food, it is definitely worth it. If you're looking for a nice place with great food, I highly recommend it.

We had a truly wonderful evening at this bistro! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. It’s rare to find a place that excels in every category. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a perfect dining experience

A true creative gourmet experience, well worth the price. Staring with the inventive cocktails and through dessert, we were impressed. The starter of "Croquetas de fromage bleu et noix" with the romesco sauce was great. My cod was the best I've had since Boston with a really delicious sauce. My wife's roasted pigeon, with the stone mushroom and foie gras was mouth watering. For dessert my cheese platter was inventive, I even at the goat cheese. My wife got the chocolate sphere with the "show" of hot sauce melting it. The interior and base was crushy and not too sweet. Great selection of wines and a knowledgeable, friendly waiter completed the experience. Our new go to place for special meals in Nice.

We are so pleased we found this restaurant on google, its a shame we didnt book and could not get a table on the roof terrace, however, the indoor dining was still very nice and the decoration is a great setting. We went on the first night of the new menu and chose to have a mix of Tapas dishes which we found all to be very well cooked and tasty. Our favourite was the pork belly, chick pea fries and the croquets. We managed to have dessert too these were a good size and very nice! We would go back again.

My husband loved his steak and the croquettes. I loved the corn. The eggplant dish was good but I would have preferred a heartier and higher-protein vegetarian main dish. The basque cheesecake was amazing because they flambé one edge. We had great drinks too, get the cocktails! Thank you!

We had dinner at Bocca Nissa after hearing about the great vibes on the rooftop! We loved all the food, the tuna carpaccio and the pork belly skewers were standouts for us. Our server Ines was so lovely and even brought me a fresh cocktail after I spilt mine 🤦🏼‍♀️ The DJ on the rooftop created a really fun atmosphere.

Bocca Nissa falls short of its hype. The food was disappointingly bland, and none of the dishes stood out. While the service was adequate, the indoor seating area was underwhelming. The restaurant's terrace was occupied by a private event, limiting our dining options. Overall, I cannot recommend Bocca Nissa based on my experience.

Tips for Dining in Nice

To make the most of your culinary journey, it helps to understand the local dining culture and timing. The rhythm of a meal in Nice is different from many other parts of the world, and a little planning can save you from disappointment.

First, be aware of the "service continu" versus fixed meal times. Many traditional restaurants stop serving lunch at 2:00 PM and do not reopen for dinner until 7:00 PM or 7:30 PM. If you are hungry in the mid-afternoon, look for brasseries or cafes that advertise non-stop service.

Second, do not skip the menu du jour. The set lunch menu is often the best value in the city, allowing you to taste high-quality cooking at a fraction of the à la carte dinner price. It usually includes a starter and main course, or a main course and dessert.

Third, embrace the aperitif culture. The French Riviera is famous for its relaxed pre-dinner drinks. Ordering a glass of local rosé or a pastis before your meal is a cultural ritual that sets the tone for a leisurely evening.

Fourth, when in Vieux Nice, wander the back alleys. The main tourist squares, like Cours Saleya, are beautiful but often pricier and lower quality. Venturing a block or two away from the main foot traffic often reveals hidden gems with more authentic, home-style cooking.

Finally, always greet your server. A polite "Bonjour" or "Bonsoir" upon entering a restaurant is mandatory etiquette in France. Treating the staff with respect and patience will drastically improve your dining experience and often leads to better recommendations.

The culinary landscape of Nice is best enjoyed slowly. Do not rush your meal; savor the views, the local wine, and the unique atmosphere that makes dining on the Riviera so special.

Whether you are indulging in a plate of fresh sea bass overlooking the harbor or biting into a crispy socca on a bustling street corner, the food here tells a story. It is a story of sunshine, tradition, and a deep respect for simple, high-quality ingredients.
