As the sun begins its slow descent over the rugged coastline of Ibiza’s west side, a palpable shift occurs in the air. The frantic energy of the beach clubs gives way to a more sophisticated, anticipatory calm. This is the hour when the island’s bohemian soul truly awakens, and there is no better place to witness the transformation than San Antonio.
Long known as the vibrant heart of the island’s nightlife, San Antonio offers more than just superclubs and late-night revelry. It is home to some of the most breathtaking sunset vistas in the entire Mediterranean. The famous promenade, stretching along the horseshoe-shaped bay, becomes a stage for one of nature’s most spectacular daily performances.
Choosing the perfect spot to watch the sky ignite in hues of orange, pink, and deep purple is essential to the Ibiza experience. Whether you seek a chilled-out lounge with deep house beats, a rustic chiringuito with authentic tapas, or a glamorous rooftop with craft cocktails, the options are wonderfully diverse. The atmosphere ranges from spiritual and serene to lively and electric, ensuring every traveler finds their perfect vantage point.
The sunset strip, particularly around Caló des Moro and the area near the old stone church, is world-famous for a reason. Here, the sun dips directly into the sea, often silhouetting the mysterious cone-shaped island of Es Vedrà in the distance. The collective applause and cheers from the crowd as the final sliver of light disappears is a tradition unlike any other.
However, the best sunset bars are not just about the view; they are about the complete sensory experience. The right soundtrack, the quality of the sangria, the comfort of the seating, and the warmth of the service all combine to create a memory that lasts long after the colors fade. This is the true art of the Ibiza sunset.
From iconic institutions that have defined the genre for decades to hidden gems favored by locals, the choices can be overwhelming. To help you navigate the sunset scene, we have curated a list of the most exceptional locations. Each one offers a unique perspective on San Antonio’s golden hour, ensuring your evening begins as beautifully as it ends.
Here is our definitive guide to the best places to raise a glass to the setting sun.

Always a great place for the very best cocktails and the finest selection of beers and spirits. This is the spot to watch the Ibiza sunset. No obstructions to your view. Great drinks and super prices. Love it here and have been coming here for years.

If you’re wanting an incredible cocktail in San Antonio, without the tourist trap vibes, you have to come here. Drinks amazing, the staff, especially Jorge, so good! Really a hidden gem right on the sea. Daytime, sunset and into the night

We had the most amazing time on Wednesday night.
All the staff are super friendly, the margaritas are incredible and all our whole grouped loved having a boogie to the band that we’re playing.
My little girl was even on the mic at one point 😂 absolutely love this bar!! Would deffo recommend

By far the best bar we visited - loved it so much, we went back every day during our holiday. The decor is well thought out, the ambiance is the chilled out vibe we were looking for, away from the chaos of the main strip. Drinks are reasonably priced and the staff take pride in their service to customers. We reserved a table for the sunset and it was beautiful - just as beautiful as Café Mambo due to the vantage point. Enjoyed a variety of drinks - from well valued house wine to cheap beer to Sangria and some other cocktails (plenty to choose from). Would love to visit again next time. Thank you to the staff for making our holiday even more special.

Had mocktails and cocktails with my daughter here! Nice to be inside after you’ve had so much sun. The bamboo tikki decore is sooooo lovely. We also ordered some food which came from the place next door and we also enjoyed that. The woman serving everyone was so friendly honestly she made us feel so welcomed!! We saw there are games and plan to play some cards our next visit.

Amazing experience at Café del Mar Ibiza 🌅✨
Everything was fantastic — the atmosphere, the music, the beautiful sea views, and especially the food! Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The cocktails were excellent too. 🍽️🍹
Enjoying amazing food while watching the famous Ibiza sunset made the experience even more special. 🌅❤️
Definitely a must-visit in Ibiza. We loved it and would absolutely come back!

We had a brilliant sunset experience! Many thanks to all the team, in particular to Arturo (I hope I've spelt that right 🤦♀️) who looked after us incredibly well, using our names, that goes such a long way!! Thanks also to James, the team are incredible, totally seamless.
The food was brilliant, we slowly made our way through some tapas, the beef carpacio in particular was stunning and food envy meant we just had to have the Russian salad with salmon and confit prawns and so glad we did.... yum!!!
Cocktails and Mocktails (I was with my teenage kids) were spot on.
The atmosphere was buzzing, of course once the sun had set the music then really picked up the tempo but was perfect for the setting.
I'm so glad I was able to experience this, definitely recommend.
Thank you Cafe del Mar team for making our holiday a truly memorable experience!! Have an awesome season, you guys deserve it!

Definitely the best atmosphere & music on the strip. Live music, saxophone, chill kinda music whereas other places seem to play the typical English club music.
Absolutely incredible views of the sunset and ocean, the whole place has great views and a great vibe.
I expected drinks to be expensive and they were, so not shocked there, but my cocktails were nice so nothing bad to say.
Didn’t order food as it looked expensive for what you got, ended up eating somewhere else so can’t comment on food

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely magical evening!
Kasbah completely lived up to the hype. The service last night was incredibly attentive and proper top-tier. They fully honored my request for the best seat in the house to catch that legendary San Antonio sunset (just call them after making rezzie), and wow… it did not disappoint.
The entire setting was completely picturesque, and the food was fabulous to match. Highly recommended if you want the ultimate Ibiza sunset experience. Five stars all day!

Dinner for four with sunset and amazing drinks! The staff is sooooo friendly and helpful, we wanted to stay forever! And the food...the FOOD was INSANE! Every single thing we ordered was top notch quality and taste. Ceviche, prawns, baba ganoush, batatas bravas, everything. And the view at the bay was truly magical. We'll be back. Thank you to Vera!

Back here after coming here at least 25 years ago when we were so much younger. Just perfect. The location and view for the sunset is amazing and the music is right on the mood. Food was just as good and the service was spot on. Why pay more for the likes of Mambo and Del Mar when this place is so much better? Best place to eat in San Antonio

Golden Buddha is an Icon in San Antonio, really nice place and great views, if you walk in from the Street you walk in disappointed as it caters to people walking on the promenade (sea side) but the place is nice, little dark inside but great outside. Seems disorganized as there is no receptionist due to the fact they have two entrances, so you need to manage yourself to find seating. We went early, this is a place for sunsets but service should be the same no matter when you go. The service once established was very good, coutrious and efficient, food comes fast and drinks also. Great place to spend a meal, Ibiza pricing as it is little high but the portions are good and the food is great. Food for everyone and if you can spend 30-40€ per person this is a great choice due to ambaince and fame. I eill be back for their burger and maybe sunset. I recommend this place.
Kara H★★★★★
Super chilled and relaxed restaurant with cool decor. A really good place for sunsets directly in front of the beach. For drinks we just had beers and we did order a sangria bit was very sweet and tasty but extremely weak on alcohol. Amazing patatas bravas, definitely must order. Everything else we tried was fine not amazing but acceptable. Service kinda slow, waited for than 15 mins to receive our change which was over 10€ and we had to ask them for it.
Mariia Kulishova★★★★☆
Very beautiful place, but the desserts were nothing like authentic Italian desserts. The main dishes were overly salty, and the lemon sauce was also far too strong and overpowering.
Heidi Vilkman★★★★☆
A lovely restaurant with a nice chill out vibe. Beautifully decorated, we took cover from the rain here for a whole afternoon and the comfy lounger sofas were perfect for chilling out on. Mixed reviews on food - my goat cheese salad was excellent but my partners Ibizan pizza was very oily and lacking in flavour and texture. My cocktail was also very good. We would come back here for the location and ambience, preferably at better weather, so that we could sit outside in various parts of the place and watch the sunset.

Friends and I came here on a whim our first night together in Ibiza for a late dinner. We shared appetizers and each got drinks and a main. We split the delicious chicken skewers and nachos. I loved the recommended spicy red curry with shrimp, while my friends got the steak dish (they both weren’t a fan though). The ambiance of the restaurant was delightful and the restaurant hours is til late so perfect for a chic late dinner in town. Unfortunately I only captured our appetizers but the red curry shrimp was delicious!

We came to cafe mambos we breakfast on one of the days in Ibiza. It was excellent food and the coffees were brilliant too.
They put on all sorts of lovely milkshakes to help with the hangovers too!
We came a second time to watch the sunset and enjoy a few drinks while watching Claptone. Lovely venue with beautiful views!
betina charlotte nuguid★☆☆☆☆
At first we were asked by someone standing outside to come sit and eat so after walking around 15 minutes we decided to come back and sit at a spot by the beach. Next thing you know, another man hovers over our table asking for reservations and if we are willing to spend €150 minimum which would have been €450 for our group! Then they sat us on the side of the restaurant. They gave us the menu which was pretty much overpriced cliche bar food, nothing groundbreaking. You really just pay for the vibes i guess…
…and then, other groups starts coming and the hostess tells them, its ok we can sit you at the VIP without a minimum, just order food and drinks. We would have honestly, been willing to spend more $$$ but decided to leave sooner as this unfair accommodations to other customers is not right.
You can probably go somewhere else for the same vibes, cost less.
We bought 1 pitcher of sangria, 2 apps, 1 water bottle. Spent €90. we had to ask to be given plates, and was only given one glass to share among the three of us for water

The staff are super friendly and fun; someone always comes over before your glass is even quite empty. We highly recommend the drinks. The ambiance is lovely, and the DJ is excellent. The music is pleasant and relaxing. The restroom is great for freshening up, as deodorant and perfume are provided, and the staff there are very friendly, too.

The Bay Bar is simply the best beach bar in San Antonio Bay - been here several times over a few different visits. There's a good mix of seating arrangements, whether you're dining or lounging about in larger groups. It has a beautiful vista over the Bay and has a chilled and unpretentious vibe with good music, often with a DJ on the decks. A special mention goes out to Tania, the waitress who served us, who was fantastic every time we visited - very attentive, welcoming and makes you feel like a special guest! Drinks are reasonably priced and the burgers are delicious as well. If you're looking for a place for drinks or something to eat in San Antonio, whether during the day or at night, it's well worth a visit.
Andy Andy★★☆☆☆
The service was fantastic, but genuinely the most average margarita I've ever had, especially at 18e. The waitress asked if I want salt, I asked if spicy, so she ordered a spicy margarita for me. Well, still no attempt at salting the glass, and absolutely flavourless. She asked if it was spicy, I said no, took it back, came back the same. For 18e, in San Antonio, it shouldn't be that bad. Seriously poor effort, equally the other cocktails at 16e, were average. If you want average cocktails and generic house, you'll love it. If you actually want a quality drink (TBF good service) and decent music, try anywhere else.
Lisa Mooney★★★★★
I really like the Bay Bar, and has been a regular go to over the past 10 years when I come to Ibiza.
The location is wonderful for people watching, great view across the bay and you can catch a great sun set from here.
There are plenty of seating options depending on your group size, and the service is good.
Would recommend the Shark Attack Jug, great cocktail and good value for money.

Stayed in the hotel as we have visited many times before and love the place, location and the staff. Great hotel nice accommodation. Drinks and food were good but the lift to the room is an experience and I'll let you find out for yourself what I mean.
Toilet in room is very small, similar to that on a plane but bed was good and it had a fridge and safe 🙂 sound bar connected to TV did not work and needs a little attention to detail but would recommend you stay and will be back in a few weeks .

Delicious food with great views of the mediterranean sea. They play groovy music and serve fresh Sangria. We got a whole jug of freshly made Sangria and it refreshed us on an August afternoon. The food was really good. We ordered a vegetarian lasgna. It was well made and was an innovative spin over the classic non-veg lasagna. It also had a gravy which is such a cool Spanish cuisine twist on the classic dish. We spent about 3-4 hours sipping Sangria, eating food, lounging in the sun and admiring the azure views!

Location good overlooking the beach. Staff friendly and removed cost of my meal without me asking. Grilled salmon inedible. Like a deep fried fish finger. Overcooked and utterly ruined. Other meals such as pizza average. Might be ok for drinks and vibe later on but for lunch was a bit of a disaster. Least it was cheap.

An absolutely unforgettable experience from start to finish. Everything was beyond perfect, the breathtaking views, the beautiful rooms, the incredible food, and above all, the exceptional team.
The staff were truly outstanding, warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely caring. The girls at the restaurant entrance always welcomed us with such kindness and positive energy, making us feel special from the very first moment.
A special thank you to Hector, Laura, Lori, Kate, Lenis, Michelle, Estefania, Paula, Miriam, and Merixel, as well as all the waiters and housekeeping staff. Their dedication, professionalism, and attention to every detail made our stay even more memorable. They provided a level of service that goes far beyond expectations.
The view from the restaurant is simply breathtaking and one of the most beautiful views I have ever experienced. The atmosphere, the energy, and the feeling of the place were truly unique. I felt completely relaxed and comfortable, almost as if I were at home.

Hostal La Torre remains an indispensable stop on the island, but it was our waiter, Andres, who elevated a beautiful evening into something truly magical.
His guidance through the menu was impeccable; with a refined intuition, he directed my partner and me toward selections that perfectly complemented the ambiance. In a world where service is so often transactional, Andre possesses that rare, old-school sophistication where nothing is forced, yet every detail is anticipated.
A flawless evening under the Ibiza sunset. We will certainly be returning, if only to ensure we are in his corporate hands once more. Highly recommended. Xx

This is one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time! Andres was extremely helpful and suggested the most incredible dishes. We had oysters, ribeye steak, delicious red wine and espresso martinis! It’s pricey but worth the sunset and the food/drinks!

I recently visited this restaurant in Ibiza for a sunset dinner with a friend, and it was truly a special evening. The hostess greeted us so warmly, even though we hadn’t made a reservation—she welcomed us with a big smile and genuine kindness. The location, of course, is absolutely stunning—one of the best sunset spots on the island. That said, the cocktails didn’t quite live up to the hype considering their price, and the food, while tasty, was a bit too expensive for the portion sizes. Overall, I did have an amazing time, but just be mindful that what you’re really paying for here is the breathtaking view—so if that’s your priority, you won’t be disappointed.

So I arrived here in Ibiza on Tuesday and I can't believe its taken me so long to find this amazing place! The food here is exceptional and the staff are both beautiful and amazing! Would 100% recommend coming here and I will be back!

We came to the beach without expecting anything special, simply looking forward to a relaxing day by the sea. Then we found this beautiful beachfront restaurant, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip to Ibiza.
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by an incredibly friendly and attentive team. Our waiter Juan was especially kind, professional, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit.
We ordered the mixed seafood platter, paella, grilled squid, calamari rings, meat, white Prosecco, and beer. Every single dish was fresh, perfectly prepared, and absolutely delicious. The quality of the food exceeded all our expectations.
The combination of amazing food, outstanding service, and the beautiful beachfront location created a truly unforgettable experience. We left absolutely delighted. Without a doubt, this was one of the best restaurant experiences we had during our stay in Ibiza.
Highly recommended—we will definitely come back!

One of the best places on the Island to see the Sunset. We have always done Es Vedra but now they have made it nigh on impossible to find somewhere to park so we thought we world try Cala Comte. We were not disappointed. There was even a solo hippy drummer there beating down the sun which created an even more magical atmosphere. There is one restaurant there which we didn't try called Sunset of Ashram but I have heard good things about the place. You can no longer park along the road leading up to Comte but there is a rather large car park near the barrier which allows buses and taxis through which to be honest when you park you dont have far to walk to the clifftop and beach. Highly recommend for a great sunset!!

For others to know: renting lounge chairs for 2 people costs 45 euro. It is mandatory to have lunch from them 50€ per person, and one coconut. So 145 € for 2 people and the 14€euro coconut you can include in the 100€ lunch you have to use. You pay 145€ at the beginning. The red tuna was ok, a bit rare for my taste.
And when you get the bill, you will find 10% service fee and the waiter is asking if you want to leave something for the staff as well.

Probably one of the most beautiful places I had visited in the whole of my Ibiza trip! Perched atop Cala Comte, fabulous atmosphere, warm service, electrifying see breeze, can get too dramatic describing this place. Look anywhere around you and you have the best views. A total 10/10 for me

Very overhyped place, therefore really crowded.
Which makes the prices rise as well, but that’s typical in Ibiza I would say.
Nonetheless, the staff tried to find a spot without me having a reservation and it was also a quite okay one.
The food and drinks were good, the atmosphere okay, although it was full of influencer tourists and loud families.
All in all it‘s a very nice place if you like this kind of environment.

This is basically a mini-mart with chairs and tables outside. Go in but your sensibly priced beverages, they'll open bottles and provide glasses if you ask. Sit outside and watch the sunset in a much more chilled way than 2 minutes around the corner.
We considered the fancy bars, and their 10+euro beers, instead we had 4 drinks here and still saved money than buying 2 there. It's the same damn drink!!
And it's the same sunset as slightly around the corner.

This is the most amazing accidental find while walking along the shore at sunset in San Antoni. It’s literally a bodega with alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks and snacks that is self-serve.
Once you pay, you can take a glass and enjoy a spacious terrace a few steps in front of the beach. The prices are very ideal for budget travelers and the vibe is fun and chill.

Great little hidden gem. The bar has a great view of the San Antonio bay, great value drinks, brilliant view of the famous Ibiza sunset. Muy bien!

What a place! Great, cheap place to watch the sunset and great music playing.
Basically a shop with a nice seating area out front but such a hack for the area! Paid €5 for a Prosecco, they also have a few beers on tap.

Why pay a fortune 60 yards away when you can sit here and drink for cheap and see the sunset for free . Perfecto a hidden gem
Essential Tips for the Perfect San Antonio Sunset Experience
To truly make the most of your evening, a little preparation goes a long way. The sunset scene in San Antonio is incredibly popular, especially during the peak summer months of July and August, so understanding the local rhythm will significantly enhance your experience. Whether you are a first-time visitor or a seasoned Ibiza veteran, these practical tips will help you navigate the golden hour like a pro.
Arrive at least an hour before sunset. The best seats, particularly the front-row daybeds and terrace rails, are claimed well in advance. Arriving early also allows you to soak in the pre-sunset atmosphere, which is often just as magical as the main event, with DJs building the energy slowly.
Always book a table in advance. During the high season, relying on a walk-in at the most popular venues will almost certainly lead to disappointment. A quick online reservation or a phone call ensures you have a dedicated space to relax without having to jostle for a view at the bar.
Time your visit with the season. The exact time of sunset changes dramatically throughout the year, ranging from around 5:30 PM in December to nearly 9:30 PM in late June. Check the local sunset time for your specific date and plan your arrival accordingly.
Embrace the dress code. While Ibiza is generally relaxed, many of the more upscale sunset bars enforce a smart-casual dress code in the evening. Leave the sandy flip-flops and wet swimwear at the hotel; linen shirts, sundresses, and elegant beachwear fit the vibe perfectly.
Prepare for the "Afterglow." The magic doesn’t end when the sun hits the water. The twilight hour, often called the "blue hour," offers a softer, more romantic light. Many venues shift their music to a deeper, more melodic tempo at this point. Stay for one more drink to avoid the rush and enjoy the transition into night.
Consider your transport. Parking near the sunset strip is notoriously difficult and expensive. If you are staying nearby, walking along the promenade is the most scenic and stress-free option. If you are driving, allow extra time to find a spot, or better yet, take a taxi or the local bus.
The allure of San Antonio’s sunset is not merely a tourist cliché; it is a genuine, almost spiritual daily ritual. The combination of the warm Mediterranean breeze, the hypnotic beats, and the spectacular celestial show creates an atmosphere that is uniquely Ibicenco. It is a moment where time seems to stand still, allowing you to disconnect from the ordinary and connect with the island’s magnetic energy.
Whether you choose a legendary venue with a world-famous DJ or a quiet, bohemian terrace tucked away from the crowds, the experience is bound to be unforgettable. So, order your favorite cocktail, find a comfortable perch, and let the magic of the Balearic sunset wash over you. It is, quite simply, the best show on the island.
