Finding the right place to stay in Paris can transform a simple city break into an unforgettable family adventure. When you are traveling with children, the location of your hotel is not just about convenience; it is the anchor of your entire itinerary. Being close to iconic landmarks reduces travel time, prevents fatigue, and allows for easy midday breaks when the little ones need a rest.
The area surrounding Notre-Dame de Paris is one of the most historically rich and geographically central locations in the capital. Situated on the Île de la Cité and bordering the Latin Quarter and Le Marais, this district offers a perfect blend of sightseeing and local living. For families, this means you are often just a short walk away from a playground, a creperie, or a quiet square to catch your breath.
However, navigating the Parisian hotel scene can be tricky, as many historic buildings feature compact rooms designed for solo travelers or couples. True family-friendliness goes beyond simply providing an extra bed; it involves space, soundproofing, and services tailored to younger guests. That is why we have curated a list of properties that genuinely cater to parents and children.
From spacious suites with kitchenettes to hotels that offer connecting rooms and welcome gifts for kids, the options near the cathedral are diverse. You do not have to sacrifice charm for practicality, nor do you have to stay in a sterile business district to find a room that fits a family of four or five. The right property will make you feel at home while placing the magic of medieval Paris right on your doorstep.
In this guide, we will explore the best accommodations that combine prime real estate with family-oriented amenities. We have evaluated these properties based on their proximity to Notre-Dame, the availability of family rooms, guest reviews from parents, and the overall value they provide. Whether you are looking for luxury or a budget-friendly base, there is a perfect spot for your crew.
Read on to discover the top family-friendly hotels that will serve as your home away from home while you explore the City of Light. Each recommendation has been selected to ensure that both the adults and the children in your party have a comfortable, stress-free, and memorable stay.

We had a great stay at Hôtel Quartier Latin. The hotel was clean and well maintained which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The location is excellent and very central making it easy to explore Paris.
Getting around was simple because both Uber and public transportation were easily accessible. We were able to reach all the major attractions quickly and without any problems.
The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. They were always happy to answer questions and made us feel well looked after.
Overall we would definitely recommend Hôtel Quartier Latin to anyone looking for a clean hotel with a fantastic location and excellent service.

We stayed one night at Hotel Quartier Latin in Paris and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and functional, with everything we needed for a short stay.
However, the real Star of the show was Paul. His service elevated our stay from good to truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, he was warm, charismatic, and genuinely interested in helping us make the most of our time in Paris.
What impressed us most was how personalised his advice was. Rather than giving generic tourist recommendations, he took the time to understand our music tastes and suggested places to visit for the Fête de la Musique that matched our preferences perfectly. He also provided detailed guidance on travel routes, timings, and how to navigate the city efficiently, which made our plans much easier.
Paul's enthusiasm, local knowledge, and exceptional hospitality made us feel genuinely welcomed. Staff like him are rare and can make all the difference to a guest's experience. Thank you, Paul, for making our visit so special. We would happily stay here again.

This hotel had friendly staff, the rooms were clean and had everything we needed, and the location was good (close to notre dame and metro). The only complaint was I wish they provided a few more towels. Would recommend and go back!

Extremely Disappointing — Would Not Recommend
Horrible experience. The room we were given was dirty, neglected, and nothing like the photos online. The front desk employee was unpleasant and at times outright rude.
We booked this hotel based on many positive reviews, but our room was filthy, with multiple holes in the walls, bathroom tiles that were broken and falling off, and several other general maintenance issues. The issue was not the age of the building or the size of the room — we fully understand what to expect in Europe. The problem was the lack of basic cleanliness and upkeep.
We raised our concerns with the front desk. She told us to wait in the room while she looked into options. After about half an hour, she called to say that although other rooms were available, they would not be offering us a different one as they are all the same. She dismissed our concerns by saying “it’s Europe,” which had nothing to do with the issues we reported.
Even though we had paid for multiple nights, we left immediately and booked another hotel at our own expense. It was the only reasonable option given the condition of the room.
The location is good, but that doesn’t make up for the inability to sleep comfortably or stay in a clean, maintained space. Based on our experience, I would not recommend booking this hotel.

We only stayed one night to prepare for our flight back to NY. Hotel was okay for a shorter stay. No dresser in room and room was a bit small. Front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Great location and reasonable price of this place helped me to make a choice. Hotel is located in the Latin quarter, safe place, and is literally within a 10-minute walking distance of Notre dame de Paris and Pantheon. Close to Shakespeare books store, Luxembourg garden. It is surrounded by the restaurants, boutiques and bakeries. Everything is in walking distance, including metro station, 7 and 10. Staff was friendly, except one man at checkout. Breakfast cost extra, but we didn't need it, so many options outside. Room was on the 6th floor with a view towards Notre dame de Paris. Elevator can only fit two people, but worked perfectly. Room was clean, very small, bathroom was very narrow and tiny, but there was a working ac unit, which was a huge plus in the middle of the summer and heat. If I would stay here again, I would. We stayed 2 nights in July and prices were bit higher.
Laura Crites★★★★☆
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights in June. We were delighted that we had a room on the 6th floor facing Notre-Dame Cathedral. Pros: easy access to the subway, and walking distance to tourist destinations, the air conditioner was good but didn’t get as cold as we would have liked, beds were comfy. Cons: the bathroom was very small (if you are a tall person you may have a hard time using the toilet and shower). When we checked-in we were sleep deprived and jet lagged and would have appreciated if the front desk staff could have been more welcoming and patient. Overall we would stay here again.

Perfect hotel. Close to transport links. Quiet enough to sleep at night. Tea and coffee provided. Lovely lady on front desk. You're able to store your luggage on check out day. Wouldn't hesitate to come back!

Great location. We got the room at the top floor and the views were amazing. You can even see Notre Dame on a clear day. The beds were fine, the bathroom was perfect. The room was cozy. There was a little visitor on our balcony but we didn't mind him.
Donna Genge★★★★☆
The location is perfect, easy walk to several favorite locations in Paris and close to the train.
Rooms are small but fine for a few days. The bathroom in our room was tight had to turn sideways to get past the sink and wall to get to the toilet. The rooms have different setups so not all like this.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Would recommend 👌

Wonderful, highly recommended. Just checked out after 3 days of stay with my husband. Rooms are all newly designed also lobby. Beautiful. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Superb location next to Luxemburg gardens. 8 min walk to RER. Lots of dinning options just couple of min walking. Was extremely hot but the hotel have great air-conditioning - did not feel the heat at all.

I stayed here recently with my husband and four year old. The hotel could not have been better. The staff was pleasant and attentive. I also felt very secure with someone always being at the front desk to greet you. The breakfast is lovely, and a perfect way to start your day before touring around Paris. I found the location ideal for visiting the main monuments and museums. You are steps away from the Luxembourg Gardens, which was particularly nice when traveling with a toddler. The room was well appointmented; the bed and pillows were comfy, the shower hot with good water pressure, there is a nice tea and coffee station, and you get fresh water daily. I would not hesitate to stay here again..

We had a lovely 10 night stay. This gem of a hotel is tucked away on a quiet Paris street yet feels close to everything. Great cafes and restaurants nearby, plus a pharmacy and grocer across the street. The rooms were very clean and pleasant. We were lucky to have a balcony which we sat on frequently, perfect for taking in that beautiful Paris spring weather. Staff were very friendly, and one of the receptionists Caroline was very helpful with answering my questions via email beforehand, she was quick and informative. All other staff were friendly and showed my fiancee how to use the nespresso machine. We ordered room service one morning and it was delightful and arrived on time, at exactly 8:30 on the dot which was the time we indicated we wanted it. The seltzer water on arrival was a nice touch. Not a complaint, but just as a heads up to foreign travelers, the rooms and elevator are very small compared to American standards. But we found our room to be perfectly adequate for size, even for a 10 night stay. This hotel was the key to having a lovely first trip to Paris.
Antti Lehtonen★★★★★
My wife and I were on vacation and chose this hotel based on its reviews. We felt incredibly welcome, and the service was absolutely fantastic. Breakfast was served in a nice, cozy space, and the service there was also wonderful and friendly. The croissants and pain au chocolat were delicious, too!
The location is absolutely perfect. We walked to Notre Dame and the Louvre, but took public transit to see places like the Eiffel Tower. The RER station is just a short walk away, which offers a direct train connection straight from CdG airport.
The Luxembourg Gardens (Jardin du Luxembourg) are also right nearby and well worth a visit.
Joe Duell★★★★★
Wonderful hotel close to the metro, RER, and the sights along the Seine or Île de la Cité. The staff were very courteous and responsive, they promptly responded when we notified them of our unfortunate delay.
The only minor, but tolerable, downsides were the small elevator (results in long waits during checkout time or breakfast) and the beds were a little hard!
We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing stay at Relais Du Louvre! The customer service was exceptional, everyone was friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The rooms were beautiful with a charming boutique feel, and everything was clean and well maintained. The elevator was surprisingly great (a nice bonus in Paris!), and the air conditioning worked phenomenally, which made our stay very comfortable. The location is fantastic and made it easy to explore the city. The only minor downside was that the shower was a bit small, but it certainly didn’t take away from the overall experience. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return!

We stayed here in the summer of 2023 and It keeps recurring to me how well this hotel established our stay, and set the stage for a wonderful vacation week in Paris. We travelled as a family of four. The hotel facility was lovely- it did not appear corporate; rather it was a smaller hotel with great personalized service. The breakfast baskets in the morning were high quality and adorable. The accommodations were both modern and traditional, and well planned. But what I most remember were the lovely staff at the front desk. They were so dedicated to helping us plan our week- it felt like they were constantly at work to make sure we were able to enjoy ourselves both in the hotel, and with the activities we planned. The warmth of their dedication to their guests was so meaningful to us, and really filled us with happiness an made our trip special. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

First time in Paris and this tiny hotel located right next to the Louvre with the Eiffel tower visible just several steps towards the Seine, an old cathedral adjacent and visible from our window. Great personal service in this cozy hotel where your are always personally greeted. The windows open to the fresh air. While there is traffic along the Seine, the rooms itself is usually quiet even with the windows open and you are not blasted by the sounds of traffic.
Breakfast, which is extra at $16€ per person is delivered to your room. It was delicious with the usual croissants, baguette, optimal yogurt, choice of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, and fresh squeezed juice. Turns out there was too much food for us to eat. Conveniently located right next to the Point Neuf metro station and easily walkable from Les Halles station which connects to the Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) via the rail (RER). Took us about 1 hour to slowly walk to the Eiffel tower with plenty of stops along the way. The room was spacious enough for the two of us and our 10 year old child. The building itself is rather old but this adds to the charm and there are no visible deficiencies.

Boutique Historic Hotel in the 1st, walk around the corner and you're at the Louvre or the Pont Neuf bridge, Metro and bus also. Walk to the Isle & Notre Dame. I love the view of the rooftops out the window, which not only has a privacy shade but also a Blackout Shade in case you want to sleep in. The Hotel Site has pictures of the bedside and the non-working fireplace which is a nice aesthetic however I thought I would add the other views of the room that I enjoyed. The benefit of the elevator is terrific and it fit my husband myself and our 2 carry on suitcases, we also enjoyed taking the stairs a couple times even if we were on the 6th floor- I love a circular staircase. Room 62 fantastic. has to be the best location and well worth the price. If you have a morning breakfast it's wonderful in your room to have time to get ready and then go out for the day. There's actually enough croissant or bread and ham and cheese to take yourself a little snack for the day. The only negative for room 62 would be if you have some mobility issue and can't step into a high bathtub. The bath has the European shower and half glass. the private toilet area is very nice with the built-in bidet and heated seat. Very nice on a cold morning. The people are so wonderful and helpful it makes the perfect location even better.

Located right across the street from the louvre. Located right near the metro, walking distance to many attractions such as the Seine and the Eiffel Tower. The rooms are comfortable albeit on the tighter side (standard European room).
I can’t say enough positive things about the staff. They are accommodating, kind, and lovely to interact with. They truly do go above and beyond making us feel welcome and ensuring that we enjoy our stay with them.

We picked the Dauphine Saint Germain hotel based upon its location and reasonable price - so glad we made that choice! First, the hotel is in the heart of the Left Bank with the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Musée d'Orsay, Latin Quarter, and Luxembourge Garden all within a short walk. Saint Germain is a happening street, lively until the wee hours.
Our clean room faced the courtyard, thus extremely quiet and peaceful. This was important to us after the chaos of the city. All members of the staff were kind and helpful. Example: We asked to check in very early (before noon). They couldn't promise, of course, yet our room was available when we arrived - outstanding! The hotel had a cozy bar which is open 24/7 where we could chat with other guests.
We highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing stay in January at the Hotel Dauphine. Staff are attentive and available, competent and courteous. They were always available to answer questions. Rooms are clean and bathrooms recently remodeled. Breakfast is high quality and has some hot offerings which is rare for a smaller hotel. One of the best things about this hotel is the location. You can reach multiple museums and monuments on foot quickly. Neighborhood restaurants are historic and delicious. Great for people wanting to hit tourist attractions but also get some of the local shopping and cafe lifestyle.

We are so happy we booked this hotel. I was greeted by a lovely concierge who was extremely helpful upon arrival. My room was actually ready early morning and was given the opportunity to check in early! The small twin room was really cute and very in the style of Parisian decor, dark wood beams, exposed, beautiful blue, and white tapestries walls with a French country theme. It had a sitting desk that also housed the television and the teapot. Loved the little detail of the tea pot to make tea in the room, as well as the variety of teas provided. It also had a small wardrobe where I was able to hang up my coats which helped with the organization of the room since it was two of us splitting it. My cousin and I both loved how comfortable the bed was and the beautiful tub. I will say that if you are a person who struggles with stepping in and out of things, maybe the bathrooms aren’t for you, but we loved the tub. The bathroom also had a blow dryer, which was an awesome perk. We saw that they served breakfast every morning although we didn’t try it. It looked like a good mix of pastries, yogurts, fruits, and charcuterie. They do offer hotel guests, free coffee, and water throughout the day, which is another great perk. Also, the location was wonderful. We were about 20-30 minutes walking to many Paris notable places. The street the hotel sits on also has a good choice of restaurants and shops. Overall, I’m very content with this hotel.

I checked out today and went back and reviewed what I originally booked. A superior double. I am giving this two stars because our room did not match the photos online. The online pictures had far bigger windows and a larger desk and a larger bathroom.
There are a few things that come with an older hotel that is just how it is, not affecting my review: you can hear all intimate details from your neighbors, the shower, and room was small, things a little older. The shower temperature was unable to hold a steady temp and would jump between cold and hot.
But for $350 a night there are a few things that could improve the experience for guests. The mattress was cheap and sagged. The pillows were well past their prime, flat and uncomfortable. The shower head was so small it would only get part of you wet, high efficiency larger shower heads is a simple swap. The towels were cheap and scratchy. In the shower itself it was a 3x3 stall with a cheap curtain, it only had a body wash/shampoo combination in a single bottle, no conditioner, no body lotion.
I did not raise my concerns with the front desk because these issues are for the managers to solve, not the desk.
I liked the location, but would not stay here again.
Savitri Wilder★★★★★
My little Yorkie and myself had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I was travelling solo and the room was more than enough for us.
I was on the first floor with view to another building, which was fine because it meant quietness. The room and bathroom was very clean, there is a small refrigerator and also a tea/coffee making station.
The hotel is very close to a metro station and different cafes and restaurants. The street stays busy until late and as a solo female traveller, this is a plus. But in general, it’s a nice safe area where you can use public transport or walk to many sites.
I would stay here again if in Paris.

Perfect location and price. The front desk attendees Jamal and Matthias were so very helpful and kind which added the perfect touch to our trip. We dropped a glass in our bathroom and Jamal personally swept it up and made sure we were safe. He even gave us slippers just in case and checked in with us the next morning. Matthias was super helpful with our check in and flagging us a taxi. It was 5 star service and we were very happy to have piping cold ac during the heat wave.

If you're looking for a clean, safe and central located hotel, this is the place. It's a 50m walk to the closest metro station, within 10 min of five of the major tourist spots in Paris. The only thing we had to travel to was the Eiffel tower and the Arc de Triomphe via train so our stay was exquisite. We stayed in the top floor suite which was absolutely worth the cost. AC was functional if not the strongest and the jets in the tub didn't work but other than that our stay was excellent. I would highly recommend staying here, the staff was extremely pleasant, helpful and attentive. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Location of this hotel is excellent for touring Paris. However it is located in a busy area of the Latin Quarter and the noise from the cafes below is clearly heard in the room. Windows are old and not soundproofed. Bring earplugs. Bathtub in our room was relatively deep, a handrail would be appreciated for safety purposes. Front desk staff did their best to solve and account for problems with check in (rooms not ready) and broken air conditioning.
Ann M★★☆☆☆
Pictures online are very deceiving compared to the room we actually got. Our bed was about two feet from the sink and shower. There was no dividing wall. Luckily the toilet had its own private space. Cleanliness is terrible as there was dust on a lot of tables. I ended up wiping everything down on my own, including the floor. Our shower looked like it had mold too. The reception area was full of clutter - boxes and boxes stacked on the table behind the desk. It was a very tight space for checking in with other people. Although the location is great, I would not recommend this hotel for the price I paid.

While this might be a 3 star hotel, we had a 5 star experience. I booked the "superior" room with balcony as a birthday surprise for my wife. And it was perfect! We were on the 5th floor and looked down on the plaza below which was busy with activity each night, and several nights we enjoyed cheese, susauge, bread and wine while watching the activity below. The room was clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed their buffet breakfast several of the days we stayed there. The location of this hotel couldn't be any better. It is literally two minutes to the Metro, and 20 minutes to the Louvre. Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle and the Conciergerie are even closer. A dozen restaurants are reachable within a three minute walk. We loved this place and definitely would stay here again.

We’ve stayed there for one night. The best option I was able to find for this money. I would say it’s perfect for short stay, just to sleep and take shower, what else you need in Paris?
Location is great, transport is near. Yes, the street is buzzy, but we were so tired that we didn’t care. It wasn’t hot, so we didn’t even need AC, but if you come during hot summer days that might be a problem for you. Sheets are clean, room is clean. Definitely needs some renovation but it’s not a big deal. Pretty weird was that we needed to leave a key when we went out but I didn’t worry as we didn’t have any valuables with us. Reception is friendly and welcoming. Some nice restaurants and bakeries around.
If I come to Paris again, I’ll definitely stay there.

Great. I would come back next time
Very clean, friendly staff and room is so so cute. The bathtub is huge. We were there during the heatwave so it was convenient for us to take breaks in between our short window to go out and come back in. The AC was AMAZING. We got some macaroons as welcoming amenities, it was a nice touch. We can also store our baggage before check in.
Some things to keep in mind: they are currently in renovations so you're just going to be in and out while they do constructions, that might bother some people.
The elevator is tiny so do be mindful that it cannot accommodate everyone, the staircase is also a little narrow.
I have had 0 problem, this is actually the best hotel we stayed at that I loved throughout our Europe trip, up par with the 5 stars we've stayed at. It is so good for being a 4 star hotel. Location is also great. I definitely prefer to stay here than to be near the other bigger attractions.
Everything was great. Although wifi was pretty slow

Had a lovely stay at Hotel Le Lapin Blanc in Paris. The staff were incredibly sweet and welcoming, and the rooms were very nice. We specifically wanted a king bed, which can sometimes be hard to find in Europe, so that was a big plus for us.
A couple things to note for future travelers: the bathroom isn’t fully separate and has a glass partition setup, so if you’re traveling with friends or people you’re not super comfortable with, just be aware of that. There is a lift in the hotel, but it’s tiny, so you may need to make multiple trips with luggage.
That said, the location is fantastic. It’s right near Notre-Dame, centrally located, and very close to the metro. The area felt safe, lively, and full of great cafés, so we never missed having room service. Would definitely recommend staying here if you want a charming hotel in a great part of Paris. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

(JULY 2026) The lobby is undergoing major renovation and my room was right above it BUT heard absolutely NO noise. The team provided appeasement due to breakfast and other lobby amenities not being available (I don’t really care since I am out and about all day!)
Despite facing the busy street, I slept very well through the night. 😴
The front desk staff was great, from check in to special requests like using the freezer for French Butter 🧈
🚌 Bus stop is only several steps away, and metro is only a 5-min walk!
🥐 Lots of restaurants, cafes and shopping nearby!
The room itself has PLENTY of room for my three luggages and the team will provide additional hangers + iron if needed.
Love the welcome amenity. The coffee was delicious! 🤤
I used the extra large bath tub before my flight out to decompress and be sad that I was leaving Paris.
I can’t wait to come back and stay here again! It’s close to NotreDame, Saint Chapel, and Louvre.
(Tales from a frequent traveler in the US. I would compare this to an Autograph Collection 🌟)

Very disappointed for the full price we pay.
To my surprise, when we arrived at the hotel, we found that the entire reception area, lobby, and breakfast/bar area were under major renovation. At no point before my stay was I informed that the hotel was undergoing such extensive construction work.
Throughout our whole 6 days stay, there were constantly construction workers in the common areas, and there was dust everywhere due to the renovations. One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was because I needed a quiet place where I could also work from my room. Unfortunately, that was impossible. The noise from the construction was continuous, including marble cutting, heavy machinery, and other renovation work taking place throughout the day.
I was also unable to enjoy any of the hotel’s common areas, as they were essentially unusable because of the renovations. On our departure day, our flight was in the evening, and after checking out at 11:00 a.m., I had planned to work from the hotel’s reception area until it was time to leave for the airport. Once again, this was not possible because the reception and lobby were still under construction.
I completely understand that renovations are sometimes necessary. However, I believe guests should be clearly informed before booking when the hotel’s main facilities are unavailable and when the level of noise is significant enough to impact their stay. At the very least, the room rates should reflect the reduced experience and limited facilities being offered…
Unfortunately the experience fell far below what was advertised and what I expected from this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location was excellent and made it easy to explore the city. The staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly, and accommodating throughout our visit.
Our room on the 5th floor (Room 54) had a lovely city view, and the bed and linens were very comfortable. A special touch that we appreciated was the daily macaroons left in our room.
On our first day, I wasn’t feeling well and asked where I could buy some tea. Within minutes, the staff brought an electric tea kettle and tea bags directly to my room. This thoughtful gesture truly exceeded my expectations and made me feel well cared for.
Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so comfortable and memorable. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

Loved it! The position of the hotel is great. Calm, peaceful but yet really easy to get to anywhere in the city.
The rooms are very quiet. Because it is on an island, there is little traffic.
The breakfast was amazing. You order your food, rather than it being a buffet and everything is freshly made for you using local ingredients.
The staff were some of the most friendly I have come across and very helpful.
They also have afternoon tea with homemade cake in the afternoon, which looked lovely but we didn't try.

We had a wonderful stay at this cute, small hotel located on Ile Saint Louis. The location is perfect for Paris as it is close to everything (Notre Dame, Latin Quarter, Marias, Saint Chapelle, and multiple Metro stops) and yet feels quieter than any other Paris area since it is on the small island right beside Notre Dame. While the rooms are somewhat small and there is not a lot of storage space in the rooms, neither of those issues took away from an otherwise excellent stay. Staff was friendly, professional and very helpful and the breakfast, albeit a somewhat limited menu, was delicious! Great air conditioning too which came in handy as the weather was a little unexpectedly warm. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

A great find in a lovely, quiet neighbourhood, well within walking distance of major Paris attractions. We stayed for a couple of nights and found the Ile Saint-Louse a perfect base for enjoying sites like Notre Dame and the Louvre. The island has a quiet, welcoming vibe, and the same goes for the hotel.
This is a boutique hotel, and the unique decor, old building, and not least incredibly welcoming staff, make for a great experience. Being in an old building means that rooms lean toward small and cozy, so if you are on the larger side or require a lot of floor space, this probably isn't for you. That is literally the only, and very minor, thing I can think of as a detractor. I would definitely recommend it, and would be more than happy to stay here again.

Hôtel Des Deux-Iles was one of the most appealing places I have stayed in Paris. Set on Île Saint-Louis, it felt quiet, intimate, and almost village-like despite sitting in the center of the city. We could reach everything we wanted while returning each evening to a part of Paris that felt local and remarkably calm.
The hotel itself was cozy, welcoming, and clearly well cared for. Our room was European in scale, meaning compact rather than expansive, but it was exceptionally clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the simplicity felt especially restorative after long days of touring.
Outside the hotel, the island was filled with small shops, cafés, and an excellent brasserie that looked like the original blueprint for New York restaurants such as Pastis and Balthazar. Notre-Dame was open during our visit, before the fire, and its proximity made the neighborhood's history feel especially immediate. Now that the cathedral has reopened, this location is even easier to recommend. I would gladly stay in this part of Paris again.

I was excited to stay here because of the location. The hotel has a charming lobby but my room was horrible. Historic or not it it was dated and small. Some of the furniture was kid size. The bed was comfortable but it was hard to open the curtains because the building across the way could see in. With the curtains closed the room was dark and the lighting poor. The bathroom was tiny and the shower also tiny. It would have been ok but the hand held shower head was cheap so if you used it as an overhead shower, water sprayed everywhere.
The only redeeming part of the bathroom was a heated towel rack.
The breakfast was in a basement room but it had charming decor. The menu was the same everyday and the server had to bring you everything: coffee, bread, yogurt, eggs etc and one morning it was so hectic that 3 people were running around and it was hard to get served.
Yes, it’s on Ile St Louis which is a cute street with bunches of tourists moving about. I think the hotel is upcharging due to Notre Dame Cathedral being around the corner. For 3 nights I paid over 1200 euro which was way over priced for the accommodation. I wouldn’t rate it even as a 3 star. I was solo and I can’t imagine another person in the room with me, there would be no place for luggage.
Such a shame that they take advantage. No I will not stay there again, I go to Paris ever year and this is by far the worst hotel that I have stayed for the price.

My wife and I are from North Carolina and we stayed here about 15 years ago the first time we visited Paris and loved it, and we came back last week with our two kids and it was even better than we remembered it. Friendly staff, clean rooms, an ideal location, a lovely breakfast, and comfortable beds. Next time we come back to Paris, the easiest decision we will make is where to stay overnight. It was perfect.

Wonderful little stay, was lovely to turn up and found we had an upgrade. Room was a good size overlooking the street. But the double glazing was good so wasn't disturbed at all. Beds are big and super comfy too.
Location was spot on for exploring Les Marias and the left bank and only a few minutes walk from Notre dame. Street itself had some Greta little shops, restaurants and a Cheese Museum which I have to try on next visit.
Service was just as you would expect friendly and helpful , from taking up bags to room when we arrives early to every time we had to interact with them.
Love the complimentary afternoon tea and cake. And the Cremerie opposite
Oh breakfast , small selection but really good quality and was perfect for us
Overall a lovely little hotel which I would love to come again.

Absolutely the best hotel for a first trip to Paris! From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed and taken care of.
Elie is an absolute sweetheart — kind, warm, incredibly helpful, and she has the most beautiful eyes! ❤️ She helped us with train tickets, made additional reservations for us, and guided us with everything we needed during our stay.
For someone visiting Paris for the first time, I honestly couldn’t recommend a better hotel. Elie made everything so much easier and made us feel at home. Wonderful hospitality and a beautiful experience we will always remember.
Thank you, Elie! We will definitely be back! 🇫🇷❤️

Very charming hotel. Service was amazing.Rooms were great. Loved the fluffy pillows and comfortable beds. I slept well. Towards the end of day in the lobby there were crepes and coffee to enjoy. The staff were very pleasant and happy. Will definitely stay here the next time I’m in Paris. Merci

A little gem tugged away in a narrow street sprinkled with artisan shops and a stone throw away from Notre Dame. We really enjoyed our stay and especially loved the delicious breakfast. The rooms were very inviting and beautifully decorated. A small issue with the heating upon arrival was solved quickly. The staff was always at hand to help us with any of our questions. Overall a great experience and we highly recommend it.

We loved it here! Paid for an upgrade to get a room with our own balcony and it was beautiful. The view was wonderful, bed was comfy, and it was spacious enough. Helpful concierge, clean, convenient and loved the 12pm checkout time.

Adorable hotel and staff, warm welcome and a free Espresso upon arrival. I had a nice double room in the 5th floor with small balcony. Huge bathrom for Paris though, delicious breakfast with eggs, omelette upon request. The quartier latin is the best area to stay, within walking distance so many cafes, restaurants, 10 min walk to Notre Dame! I love this small and typical hotel style, it's Paris how it used and has to be 🙂 MERCI beaucoup Yana, and the 2 two Monsieurs form night service, you are kind hosts.

Had the perfect stay at hotel. Do college de France. Our room was wonderful and air-conditioned. Yes, a little small but we were prepared from other reviews. We couldn't have been happier with the service, location, breakfast, everything. When I needed help calling the palace of Versailles over some ticket issues. Yana came to the rescue with a phone and helped me in my time of need. We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone we know coming to Paris.

We loved the atmosphere and the service of this hotel. We came here with friends, and enjoyed every minute of the stay. The location is very calm and quiet at night. We got the room with an amazing terrace and with the view on the city! The stuff, Julie, Yana, and Eric were so kind and helpful.
Huge plus was the breakfast! Definitely coming back here again.

Really happy with this hotel. The welcome was excellent and our room ready earlier than expected. Room was clean, tidy, super cool. The downstairs is interesting and quite different! Location right in the middle of things.
Yana and Nikita on reception were very helpful and friendly.

Stayed in the triple privilege room with my two friends. What an amazing experience! Everyone was so kind and helpful. Our flight was delayed a full 24 hours :(, but the staff at this hotel rebooked our ride from the airport without trouble AND had a bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room once we made it there. The air conditioning is GREAT. The showers are great. Very nice hotel. There is so much character, which I love! This is a wonderful hotel, and a friend and I have already booked to return and stay at this hotel this June. 🙂

Stayed here last night and I cannot complain. We arrived close to midnight and the staff were welcoming and polite. The rooms are nice, clean and quirky. The AC and WiFi always helps! Whilst the balcony is small there is enough space for a couple of people to stand and enjoy the view. In terms of location it is only a 10 min walk from Notre Dam, which is not far from the Lourve.

Just got back from Hotel & Spa Saint-Jacques in Paris and it was a real find. Our room had so much character — yes, on the smaller side, but every inch was thoughtfully used and well equipped, so nothing felt missing.
The highlight for me was the little balcony — having breakfast out there coffee in hand, watching the street wake up below, was the perfect start to a day of walking the city.
After hours on your feet exploring Paris, the spa was an absolute lifesaver. A proper soak and steam to recover before heading back out (or just collapsing happily into bed) made a huge difference.
Atmospheric, cozy, well-located, and just the right mix of charm and comfort. Five stars all the way!

This was my first time visiting Paris, and I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The hotel was beautiful, the room was charming and spotless, and the breakfast was amazing. What made the experience even more special was the staff, everyone was so friendly, warm, and welcoming. They always took the time to greet us and make us feel special. Staying here gave me such wonderful memories of Paris, and I already miss it so much. I can’t wait to come back!
Tips for a Stress-Free Family Stay near Notre-Dame
Booking the right hotel is only half the battle; knowing how to navigate the neighborhood with children is equally important. The streets around the cathedral are bustling with activity, and a little preparation can save you from logistical headaches. Here are some expert tips to ensure your family vacation runs smoothly and everyone stays in high spirits.
1. Prioritize Proximity to Public Transport
While walking is lovely, Paris is large, and little legs tire quickly. Choose a hotel that is within a five-minute walk of a Metro or RER station, such as Saint-Michel or Cité. This will give you quick access to attractions further afield, like the Eiffel Tower or Montmartre, without requiring a long trek back to the hotel at the end of the day.
2. Look for "Family Rooms" Rather Than Just "Triple Rooms"
A standard triple room often means a double bed and a rollaway cot squeezed into a small space. A true family room usually offers more square footage and distinct sleeping zones. When booking, specifically search for hotels that list "Family Rooms" or "Connecting Rooms" to ensure you have enough space for luggage, strollers, and play.
3. Check for In-Room Amenities
Eating out for every meal in Paris can be expensive and exhausting for children. Consider hotels that offer in-room kettles, mini-fridges, or even small kitchenettes. Being able to store milk, juice, and snacks, or prepare a simple breakfast, can save you a significant amount of money and prevent early morning meltdowns.
4. Use the River Banks as Your Playground
The Right Bank of the Seine near Notre-Dame has been beautifully pedestrianized. Instead of looking for a traditional playground, take a walk down to the riverbanks. Here, kids can run freely, watch the boats go by, and you can enjoy a picnic with a view of the cathedral without worrying about traffic.
5. Book Attractions with "Skip-the-Line" Access
Lines to enter the towers of Notre-Dame or the nearby Sainte-Chapelle can be incredibly long, especially during school holidays. Waiting in a queue for an hour with a child is a recipe for frustration. Always pre-book your time slots online or purchase a Paris Museum Pass to bypass the general admission lines and maximize your time.
Remember that the pace of a family trip is different from a solo adventure. Build in downtime, allow for spontaneous stops at ice cream shops like Berthillon on the Île Saint-Louis, and don’t try to see everything in one day. Staying in the heart of the city allows you to return to your hotel for a quick nap before heading back out for an evening stroll along the Seine, which is often when the city looks its most magical.
