Finding a comfortable place to stay in Paris does not have to drain your travel budget before you even set foot in a museum. While the 7th arrondissement is known for its elegance, wide boulevards, and proximity to iconic landmarks, it also harbors a surprising number of affordable accommodations. The key is knowing where to look and understanding that in Paris, "budget-friendly" often means cleverly designed small spaces rather than sprawling luxury suites. By prioritizing location over square footage, you can save significantly on transport costs and time.
The area surrounding Les Invalides is particularly strategic for the savvy traveler. Staying here places you within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower, the Rodin Museum, and the Seine River, yet the neighborhood retains a calm, residential feel that is often absent in busier tourist hubs like the Marais or Montmartre. This district offers a genuine slice of Parisian life, with local boulangeries, quiet cafes, and green spaces like the Champ de Mars just a short stroll away. It is an ideal base for families, history buffs, and couples looking for a refined atmosphere.
When searching for value in this prestigious postal code, flexibility regarding your dates is your greatest asset. Hotel prices in Paris fluctuate dramatically based on seasonal demand, fashion weeks, and major holidays. A room that costs €250 a night in June might drop to €120 in January or late November. By traveling during the shoulder seasons—spring and autumn—you can often secure a room in a higher-rated hotel for the same price you would pay for a basic hostel during the summer peak.
It is also important to adjust your expectations regarding room sizes. In historic Haussmannian buildings, which dominate the 7th arrondissement, space is at a premium. A "budget" hotel room in this area will likely be cozy, with a compact bathroom and perhaps a view of an interior courtyard rather than the golden dome of Les Invalides. However, what these rooms lack in sprawling space, they make up for in character, cleanliness, and the sheer convenience of their location.
Furthermore, savvy visitors should look for "hôtels de charme" or smaller, family-run establishments rather than large international chains. These independent hotels often offer lower rates because they do not carry the overhead of big brand names, yet they frequently provide a more personalized level of service. The front desk staff at these boutique properties are usually locals who possess deep knowledge of the neighborhood’s hidden gems, from the best corner cafe for breakfast to the quietest entrance to the Metro.
To maximize your savings, always check if the hotel rate includes breakfast. While a croissant and coffee in the hotel dining room is convenient, it is often marked up significantly. In the 7th arrondissement, you are never more than a two-minute walk from a traditional bakery where you can enjoy a superior pastry and a café crème for a fraction of the hotel price. Allocating your food budget to local markets and bistros rather than hotel extras is a hallmark of a smart Parisian traveler.
Ultimately, choosing a budget hotel near Les Invalides allows you to reallocate your funds toward experiences rather than just a place to sleep. The money saved on accommodation can be spent on a Seine river cruise, a guided tour of the Army Museum, or a memorable dinner in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. With a bit of research and the right mindset, you can enjoy the prestige of the Left Bank without the premium price tag.

The room I stayed in was incredibly small, with only a bed and a tiny table. Since I was travelling alone, I did not have any problems in terms of comfort. The view from the window was very poor, but I think that was reasonable considering the price I paid.
The location, however, was incredible. Everything was nearby—you could reach the metro, the Eiffel Tower, and the Army Museum within a five-minute walk. Thank you.

I stayed at Hôtel de France Invalides. The location is excellent—right next to Les Invalides, just a few minutes’ walk to École Militaire metro station, and within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower. There are also several supermarkets nearby, which is very convenient.
The front desk area is small, and complimentary croissants and tea are offered each afternoon, which is a nice touch. The staff were polite and professional.
The room is not large, but very clean. The bathroom includes a bathtub, which is great for relaxing, although the shower pressure is a bit weak. The room setup is somewhat limited—there is only a small round table (already occupied with tea sets), and the chair is too high and quite hard, making it uncomfortable to sit or use a laptop. Soundproofing could be improved, as noise from the hallway is easily heard.
Overall, a clean and well-located hotel with good value, but with some minor comfort issues.
Serena Kirkland★☆☆☆☆
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience so that future travelers can make an informed decision when choosing accommodations.
Our room was located directly across from the elevator, and throughout the night we were repeatedly disturbed by the constant flow of guests coming and going. While the noise was certainly disruptive, the most significant issue was the complete failure of the air conditioning. The room remained at approximately 30°C (86°F), making restful sleep nearly impossible.
After our first sleepless night, we promptly reported the problem. We were assured on multiple occasions that the issue had been resolved, yet the air conditioning never functioned properly. Over the course of our stay, several fans were provided as a temporary solution; none were effective, and one was, in fact, a heater.
Each day, after spending hours exploring Paris, we looked forward to returning to the hotel to rest and recharge. Instead, we faced another night of excessive heat, constant noise, and interrupted sleep.
What made the situation particularly disappointing was the hotel’s handling of the issue. Rather than relocating us to a room with functioning air conditioning, we were repeatedly told that the problem had been fixed when it had not. This pattern continued for entirety of our stay. We even witnessed another guest reporting the same air-conditioning problem.
By the end of our trip, the cumulative exhaustion had significantly diminished our overall experience in Paris. While the manager offered a 10% discount, the issue was never simply about compensation. No refund can restore the sleep lost, the discomfort endured, or the frustration caused by a problem that was never meaningfully addressed.
A hotel’s most fundamental responsibility is to provide its guests with a comfortable place to rest. Unfortunately, this property failed to meet that basic expectation. As a result, I cannot recommend it and would not choose to stay here again.
Carlos Serras Alves★★★★☆
Excellent location with a beautiful view of Les Invalides, just 400 meters from the École Militaire metro station (Line 8). There’s a supermarket nearby, as well as several restaurants and cafés within walking distance. The area is very quiet and feels extremely safe.
The staff were incredibly friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable, even with the cold weather outside. In the afternoon, the hotel offers complimentary pastries and tea in the lobby, which is a lovely touch. I highly recommend choosing a superior room with a balcony and a view of Invalides, it’s absolutely worth it.
The only downside is the soundproofing. Noise from the hallway and especially from the connecting room doors can be noticeable.

Exceptional stay with an unforgettable view
I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in Paris, and the experience exceeded expectations on every level.
The highlight was without question the room with a direct view of Les Invalides — waking up and going to sleep with that iconic golden dome outside the window never gets old. It genuinely elevated the entire stay and made the trip feel special from day one.
The room itself was clean, quiet, and very comfortable, with excellent bedding and proper sound insulation (rare and valuable in Paris). Housekeeping was consistently thorough throughout the week.
The location is outstanding: central, elegant, and perfectly connected. Walking distance to major sights, great cafés and restaurants nearby, and easy access to transport without the chaos of more tourist-heavy areas.
Staff were professional, polite, and helpful, always available without being intrusive. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and any request was handled efficiently.
Overall, this hotel strikes the perfect balance between comfort, location, and atmosphere. If you’re looking for a refined Paris stay with a truly iconic view, this is an easy recommendation. I would absolutely stay here again.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The location was excellent, very near to metro just in front of the hotel, making it easy to explore Paris and visit the major attractions.
The breakfast was okay and good, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing and elegant. I truly appreciated the attention to detail and the excellent service throughout my stay.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Paris. I would definitely stay here again!

Had a wonderful stay at the First Hotel. The service throughout the hotel was warm and professional. Special thanks to Omar from the front desk, when I checked in being told I was the last guest who arrived ( was around midnight) he said he gave me the best room with amazing view, which is very nice touch of him and his hospitality skills, especially to me after a long journey and feeling knackered.
Rooms and bed are spacious and super clean with a views of Eiffel Tower. They clean the room daily and there's a TV, AC, USB plugs, WiFi, coffee corner, free bottle of water, a nice clean bathroom with shower and amenities.
Overall, First Hotel is a fantastic small modern boutique hotel, made me feel like home, good location close to train station, cafés, restaurants & shops.
I highly recommended this hotel and will 100% stay here again.!!

Great location the only problem was the room size. The local restaurants were great and affordable but the best of the bunch was the local bakery below the hotel. OMGOSH the food is divine.
Unless you can get a bigger room I wouldn't stay with a family more than a week but some of us may like a closer family space. Each to there own I guess.

Service not very friendly if you have a reservation.
Room rates change by 50-60% in matter of days.
I booked hotel room for 290. Then for the second room they charged 194. Same room. Same date.
I have never seen such huge price difference for the same date of stay and only because the bookings were made within a 1-2 weeks difference.
Seems non reliable. And talking to the hotel team only made me feel worse. I should have canceled my cancelable room a day before, and rebook it again. it would have saved me 100 euros.
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Definitely one of the best hotel. We booked the "guaranteed eiffel tower view" room. We arrived at the hotel and was very surprised to be greeted by 5 staff members with all smiles. They were so professional too. One of the male staff took our bags for storage because we got there at 12pm and can't check in until 3pm. Check in at 4pm and was surprised again that our room was on the top floor with great views of the Eiffel Tower from the windows. The room was spacious even with the sofa bed opened. Bathroom has essential like shavers and toothbrush if you forgot to bring. We took so many photos during day time and at night with a sparkling view of the tower.
Walking distance to the tower, supermarket, train, and restaurants. There is an excellent bakery in the ground floor.

Great location, step out of the hotel, look right and you’ll see the Eiffel Tower. Seems to be a popular spot for photos. Not far from the metro which was easy to use. The restaurant downstairs is a good stop too.
A bit of a refresh is needed, but I understand renovations in older buildings are not easy. Yes, the rooms are a bit on the smaller end but that is normal for buildings of that age.
Bed comfortable enough, shower pressure good, staff always greet you with a smile. I would stay here again.

Hotel Le Pavillon was the perfect place for our weekend in Paris! The hotel is centrally located to a ton of great restaurants and shops and within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower and Seine River. The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and the staff was extremely helpful throughout all parts of the day. I would highly recommend Hotel Le Pavillon to anybody looking for a great rate at a quaint hotel in the heart of Paris.

Our stay at Hotel Le Pavillon was excellent. The staff is so helpful and kind. The room was small but manageable. The location is perfect, so many bakeries and cafes steps away. Short walk to the Eiffel Tower. Close to the metro. When you go out and about they require you to leave your room key with them, which made us feel safe in terms of pick pockets. They can schedule a shuttle to the airport for you which was so convenient. We did not partake in breakfast so cannot comment on thay.

Lovely stay near the Eiffel Tower
We had a really nice stay at Hôtel Amélie. The location is excellent — just a short walk from the Eiffel Tower, with a grocery store nearby, a few restaurants, and both metro and bus stops close by. The street itself is quiet, which was a pleasant surprise.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Our room was compact (a full-size suitcase probably wouldn’t fit easily, but our carry-ons were fine), but it made good use of the space with storage under the bed and hangers for clothes. The room and sheets were clean, the shower was nice, and we appreciated having a safety box and a fridge. There’s free water available in the lobby, though we also bought bottles from the nearby grocery store.
A couple of small notes: there’s no elevator and no air conditioning (just a small fan). When we checked in around 3 pm the room was quite hot because the shades hadn’t been closed and the fan wasn’t on — it felt a bit like a sauna at first. Once we sorted that out it was fine.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Hôtel Amélie for a convenient, friendly base in a great part of Paris. We visited when the weather was nice (around 26–27°C).

The location of the room is good, but the facilities are too poor. There is no elevator. Guests with large luggage should choose carefully. Especially, it is very difficult to carry luggage on the narrow spiral staircase on the higher floor. The overall area of the room is small and the decoration is relatively fancy. The facilities are relatively simple. There is only an old-fashioned small iron fan in the room. It may be very hot in summer because there is no air conditioner, but the overall hygiene of the room is still good.

The organisation of the hostel is very poor. The receptionist are inexperienced and don’t understand the flow of checking in properly which I might allow if that was all but my shared dormitory still had someone staying in my bed with their belongings. The management assigned the wrong bed to them.
The second day, my pass suddenly got deactivated when I came back to the hostel after a day out. I checked with reception who reactivated it but said that I needed to change beds in the same room and the time was past 17:00. I got inside the room and someone else’s belongings were on my bed and the bedsheets on the newly assigned bed was not changed at all. I had to go back down to reception (again) and ask for fresh bedsheets.
Management needs to seriously take the cleaning and check out seriously. On the second day, there was no apology as if I was expected to change beds in the middle of my trip, when there was no warning.
The location is brilliant. Otherwise, I won’t be back to stay in the accommodation.

If you’re sensitive to smell this place is a bit rough. It smells really bad at times, from sewage or garbage outside as well as poor ventilation inside. However the employees are lovely and the building itself is very nice. Quiet too.

I booked a bed in one of the dorms last minute, after a negative experience in another hostel.
The staff here were so welcoming.
It was a really warm summer day and I was immediately offered cold water when I arrived, which I really appreciated. I had a lot of luggage with me, which they allowed me to store until check-in.
The entire hostel was extremely clean and the bedrooms were light and modern.
The bed was very comfortable, with plenty of outlets to charge phones etc.
I felt very safe, even coming back at night, as the location is well lit and not far from the metro.
Breakfast was free with the online booking and was on the smaller side but perfect to start the day with.
I was genuinely so impressed by this hostel, especially considering the price and location.
I have recommended it to others visiting Paris and will be back to stay again later this month.

Very clean for a hostel. The room was quiet and the common spaces are nice. Breakfast was simple but pleasant. Free luggage storage. Would be 5 stars but the room was unbearably hot at night with no fan or air conditioning. Also, it is worth mentioning that my experience in the hostel was not social at all, so if you’re looking for a social hostel this might not be for you.
Cassidy Tucker★★★★★
This was my first hostel visit and it was overall a pleasant one! Breakfast was included and the atmosphere was friendly every morning and each time we spoke to someone at the front desk. I struggled to get cool in the room, but otherwise, everything was comfortable and worth the price.
But what stood out to me most was the patience with which they handled my major error as a guest. I misread our checkout date (or misbooked or miswhatever) and to my dismay received an email from Adveniat that our checkout time had passed and our belongings had been taken to the front desk. I was in a panic. When we arrived (several hours later) to return the room key and claim our luggage, they were nothing but kind; this was at no extra charge to us and everything was in as much order as possible.
Highly recommended, especially for first-time travelers.

Pros: Service was excellent and staff very friendly. I felt very welcome. They allow you to keep luggage before/after check-in /checkout for your convenience until your departure from the city. The location was great, imo. It wasn't immediately close to most tourist places, but because of that it felt more central, making everything within a reasonable walking distance. Also because it wasn't directly beside any attractions, it was fairly quiet. Price was very reasonable. I purchased their cheapest room and was pleasantly surprised that it had a balcony! The room was small, but it was expected based on the photos and fine for my solo traveler needs. Con: My only complaint was the mold, or perhaps it was mildew. It lined most of both of the window and balcony border/sills. I do admit that I noticed it late at night after a long day wandering around Paris so was very tired and I didn't bring it to the attention of staff and ask for a room change. Based on how hospitable they were upon checkin and other interactions, I don't have any doubt that they would have changed rooms if they had availability if I brought it to their attention. That being said, it was still disappointing it was at all present and went unaddressed by their housekeeping/maintenance staff.

I loved this hotel. It was in a quiet area and the views and breakfast was amazing. You could actually see the Eiffel Tower when you walked out the building. Taking off a star due to some odd issues.
The Black guy who worked the night shift was a little rude and just seemed irritated/ didn’t want to interact with others. I get it’s night time and you may not want to interact with customers but I didn’t like coming down or getting orders since he was there. It was my first time in Europe and having an employee not being warm and welcoming was just not the best. A couple times when I was down getting food I didn’t even see him and the one time I saw him coming inside he was just sitting in the corner. It was a little odd but I realized he was sleeping in my last couple days in Paris.
There was renovations happening in the hotel and one of the days the paint smell was very strong even though they opened all the windows.
The rest of the staff were very welcoming and nice. Marie Louise was awesome along with the brunette girl who worked in the mornings/afternoon.
Besides those little issues everything else was great and staying here was a great option. I can see why this hotel is sold out most of the time. If you need somewhere to stay in Paris that’s safe and in a good location Le Montparnasse is a good choice

This is, overall, a nice hotel for Paris. The room was well organized, and functional. The people were friendly. One drawback is that it is fairly noisy despite modern windows because of the intense traffic and, I think, the metro passing under. I would certainly suggest earplugs. The biggest advantage of the hotel is its location. It is within easy reach of major attractions and has excellent public transportation connections, making it very convenient for exploring Paris.
However, the rooms are extremely small, even considering Paris standards. The beds are not particularly comfortable, and the bathroom layout is impractical. The shower cabins are exceptionally small and can be uncomfortable to use. In addition, the sound insulation is poor, making it easy to hear noise from neighboring rooms and the hallway.
The hair dryer provided in the room is also below expectations. Its performance is so weak that some public restroom hand dryers are more effective.
For a one- or two-night stay, the hotel may be acceptable due to its excellent location. However, for longer stays, the lack of comfort becomes more noticeable. While I understand that space is limited in Paris, the overall value for money remains questionable.
If location and transportation are your main priorities, this hotel may suit your needs. Otherwise, travelers seeking comfort may want to consider other options.

Our stay was lovely. I read many reviews which say that the rooms and bathrooms are small. Comparing to North American standards, yes they are, but this is downtown Paris. It’s perfect. Comfy beds and 4 pillows for the queen size bed. Shower is hot, plenty of towels, and space to have your luggage. Talitha at the front desk checked us in fast and easy and was very helpful. Maud also checked us out and she was great and gave us recommendations of places to eat and places to explore. THE BREAKFAST IS AMAZING AND WORTH IT. Location is excellent, lots of places to eat nearby as well as walking distance to many attractions.
However no air con in the rooms (or at least not controlled in the rooms if there is) every night was extremely warm making it difficult to sleep and far too noisy to have the window open, but even with it open it didn't cool down enough. Noisy at night hearing all other residents walking round, banging doors, hairdryers being used in the early hours, which is fine but we shouldn't be able to hear it. Also rooms are really small, bathroom is tight.
I would not stay again, which is a shame because the location is great and is right right by the metro.

I recently stayed at this adorable hotel and had a lovely experience overall. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome—even offering to carry my bags up to the room, which was a thoughtful touch. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and having a private bathroom was a definite plus. The location couldn’t be better—close to everything and perfect for exploring the city. The free internet was fast and reliable, which was a great bonus.
That said, the room itself was quite small, and getting to it involved navigating a narrow spiral staircase, which might be tricky for some travelers. The bathroom was compact but manageable; however, the shower was exceptionally tiny, which could be a challenge for taller/larger guests.
Despite these minor inconveniences, the overall charm and hospitality made for a delightful stay. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cozy, well-located place with a personal touch.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. This hotel was not what was advertised online. The website looked cute, however when I arrived the place was completely run down (chipped paint, possibly black mold), dirty and not what I was expecting. The room I booked for 230eu looked liked like a low grade hostel.
When I expressed my concerns, they offered me other rooms in the hotel, which did not meet my criteria as well. I didn't feel comfortable staying there. The place felt dirty, desolate and empty.
**Checked out the minute I arrived. Meanwhile, I am experiencing no sleep from the flight and travel anxiety.. But that didn't stop them from charging me for 5 nights. I am currently disputing the charge.
Luckily, my friend had the insight to book a hotel around the corner for the same price (her points worked there so she chose that instead of my original suggestion of Hotel Malar.) It was warm, clean and had updated bathrooms.
Save your money and find a better location. There are MANY better options around the corner.

I paid $555 US for three nights in this hotel. The location was the best thing about it. I thought breakfast was covered, but it wasn't and I was surprised by a $75 charge for 4 breakfasts! Their offerings were definitely not worth it. I had a friend spend one night with me. I booked this property through Booking.com. I am posting many pictures of one room. It still had some vestiges of mold in the shower, otherwise the room and linens seemed very clean. I feel the communication between the male front desk staff and the female housekeeping staff was lacking to say the least.

Small boutique hotel in the center of Paris. We walked from here to the tower, the Louvre, and most sites we wanted to see. It is not an american type so don't expect a lot of space in the room. But it has a small courtyard and tons of restaurants close by.

Honest staff. I had left my passport and cash on the desk and when I returned it was all still there. Awesome rain head shower with a generous water flow. Clean comfy room.

Ukrainian tourist here 🇺🇦 I had a fantastic experience at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower, and the metro station is nearby, making it easy to explore the city.
The hotel offers all the amenities you could need, including an elevator, hairdryer, and iron available upon request. I especially appreciated the free tea and coffee available 24/7, such a thoughtful touch!
Thank you to this hotel for the wonderful hospitality. I truly enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend it to other travelers.

Our experience at this hotel was spectacular! The rooms are clean and nice, and the location is superb! Close to the metro, which gives you easy and quick access to all of Paris. Also walking distance to Eiffel tower, and some of the nicest areas in town. Staff is superb, really better service than a five star hotel. Super friendly 🙂 Really the perfect hotel for a vacation in Paris!

Some of the previous reviews were a bit all over the place. However, we found the Garibaldi a really good option for our needs:
* Located in the 15th arrondissement, the Eiffel Tower was only a 20 mins walk away * There are several bus and train options nearby so you can enjoy Paris through public transport
* Rooms were nicely made up every day. As with Paris hotels, th room size will always be a bit of a tight squeeze, but it was ok for us
* Othello was a great host and took care of everything
In short, great hotel from a budget and location point of view.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Paris! The location is absolutely excellent—perfect for exploring the city and close to everything you might need.
The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. A special mention to Othello, who checked us in—he was incredibly kind, professional, and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived.
The rooms were spotless, very well equipped, and clearly maintained to a high standard, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Paris!

The hotel was in a perfect setting, close to the Metro and within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower. The staff were very friendly, polite and accommodating. They decorated our room for my daughter’s birthday and also put us in a room with an Eiffel Tower view which she loved! The room was slightly small which is normal for Paris but had everything we needed - smart tv, wardrobe and hairdryer. We will definitely be back! Thank you ❤️

From the moment I arrived, Hotel Avre completely exceeded my expectations. This hotel is a true Parisian gem. Charming, elegant, and incredibly welcoming. Tucked away on a quiet street yet perfectly located near the Eiffel Tower and excellent metro connections, it offers both peace and convenience.
The rooms are spotless, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully designed. The bed was extremely comfortable, the linens felt luxurious, and everything from the lighting to the storage was perfectly arranged. You can truly feel the attention to detail. My room was calm and cozy, making it the perfect place to unwind after long days exploring Paris.
The staff deserve special praise. Every person I interacted with was warm, professional, and genuinely kind. They went out of their way to help with recommendations, directions, and anything I needed, always with a smile. Their hospitality made the stay feel personal and special, not just like another hotel visit.
Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented, with high quality ingredients and a lovely atmosphere. The peaceful garden courtyard is an added bonus, such a rare and relaxing touch in the heart of Paris.
Hotel Avre feels intimate, refined, and authentic. It is the kind of place that makes you feel at home while still giving you a magical Parisian experience. I would return without hesitation and recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a flawless stay in Paris.

Lovely small hotel with Parisian charm off the beaten track. Very comfortable bed. Nice bathroom with amenities. Well-located - multiple metro lines one block away. Easy access to the RER a few metro stops away. Engaging, friendly staff. Quiet street walking distance to the Eiffel Tower.

Solid choice for the price I paid. Room was spacious and clean. If you are a very light sleeper, be aware it can be a little loud in the morning as the nature of the set up of the rooms. I was only here for one night, it was very convenient to the metro and easy to get where I needed to go.

Lovely little hotel in very convenient location. Although it is low on extra services the rooms are tidy, well looked after and warm. The staff are all very friendly and polite. For price, a great choice in the city.

We were super happy with our stay at Hotel Avre. The staff were kind and helpful, the room was clean, decorated nicely and cosy. The air conditioning worked well and the bathroom was a decent size. One minor inconvenience was the corner style shower had one half of the door missing which was replaced with a curtain that reduced the shower size by a few inches, so it made showering a little more difficult.

We stayed at Hotel de La Motte Picquet for five nights in June with our two children and had a wonderful stay. The room was very clean and well equipped. The beds were extremely comfortable. We couldn't hear any street noise and had no issues with climate control. Staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast was lovely with coffee, juice, pastries, bread, yogurt, and cereal. You can also order an omelette if you like. We loved the location as well. Would absolutely return in the future.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our first trip to Paris.
As soon as we walked in we were greeted by really friendly staff. Check in was very quick and efficient.
The room was fantastic. There was no noise from outside, the climate control worked brilliantly and there was a good view onto the street outside. The mini bar of soft drinks was a very welcome touch after long days out exploring.
The location is superb. Right next to a Metro station and only 10 minutes or so walk from the Eiffel Tower.
On the last day, our train wasnt until late afternoon and staff allowed us to leave our bags and collect them later on meaning we could make the most of the day without having to carry heavy luggage around.
If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! We'll definitely be back.

My family and I stayed at Hôtel de la Motte Picquet for three nights in late May 2026, and we had a wonderful experience. My husband found it through the Rick Steves Paris guide, and it did not disappoint. It’s located in the Rue Cler neighborhood, which is beautiful and very family friendly, and it’s about a 15-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. It’s also very close to a Metro stop and tons of delicious restaurants.
The hotel was quaint and very clean, and the staff was so kind and helpful. We did not pay extra for the breakfast, because there are so many easy food options nearby. There are four of us (two adults and two teens), and we opted for two rooms with two single beds each. Our rooms were on different floors, but that was not an issue for us. The rooms and bathrooms were very comfortable, and there is an A/C unit in each room, which we appreciated because Paris temperatures were very hot—way above normal—all three days we were there. We would definitely stay there again!

My family of four (two adults & two teenagers) had an excellent experience. The room was clean & comfortable, the people were helpful, and the location was perfect. An easy ride on the subway to/from the airport and short walks to restaurants and the Eiffel Tower. Would definitely stay here again.
Matthew Krott★★★★★
Loved our stay here. Staff was kind and welcoming, and you can’t beat the location. Depending on your room, you might even be able to spot the Eiffel Tower out your window. Short walk to the Tower, a grocery store, some good pastry/coffee shops, and several metro lines.
Practical Tips for Booking Affordable Stays in the 7th Arrondissement
Securing a great deal near Les Invalides requires a blend of timing, research, and local know-how. While the list above provides excellent starting points for your search, how you book is just as important as where you book. The Parisian hotel market is dynamic, and rates can change by the hour. To ensure you get the best possible value without sacrificing comfort or location, consider the following strategies that frequent visitors and locals use to navigate the city’s pricing.
1. Book Directly with the Hotel
While third-party aggregator sites are great for comparing prices, the best rate is often found on the hotel’s own website. Many independent hotels in the 7th arrondissement offer "best rate guarantees" or exclusive perks, such as a free drink at the bar or late checkout, to guests who bypass the large booking platforms. A quick phone call or email to the property can sometimes unlock a lower price than what is advertised online, as hotels save on commission fees.
2. Look for "Cabinet de Toilette" Rooms
If you are traveling solo or as a very close couple, search for rooms listed with a "cabinet de toilette" or private shower but with a shared WC in the hallway. This is a very traditional Parisian setup in older buildings. While it sounds daunting, these rooms are often meticulously maintained and can be 20-30% cheaper than rooms with fully en-suite bathrooms. It is a perfect trade-off for those who prioritize location and privacy over a private toilet.
3. Leverage the Paris Metro
While staying directly on the Avenue de Tourville is lovely, you can expand your options—and lower your price—by looking at hotels near the edge of the 7th or just over the border in the 15th arrondissement. Properties near the La Motte-Picquet–Grenelle or Ségur metro stations are a 10-minute walk to Les Invalides but often fall into a lower price bracket. The Metro Line 8 connects this area to the heart of the city in minutes.
4. Check for Weekly or Extended Stay Rates
If your itinerary allows for a stay of five nights or more, inquire about weekly rates. Many budget-friendly hotels in Paris offer a "long stay" discount that is not advertised on their main booking page. Because the 7th arrondissement is a business district for government workers, some hotels cater to longer-term guests and are willing to negotiate a lower nightly rate for the guarantee of a longer booking.
5. Monitor Cancellation Policies
Prices for budget hotels are often tied to their cancellation flexibility. If your travel plans are firm, always select the "non-refundable" or "prepaid" rate option. This can save you 10% to 15% off the standard flexible rate. However, ensure you have comprehensive travel insurance to cover you in case of unforeseen circumstances, as these savings come with the risk of losing your deposit if you have to cancel.
Exploring the grandeur of the Hôtel des Invalides and the surrounding Left Bank is an experience that should feel luxurious, even if your hotel bill does not reflect a five-star price. By choosing one of these budget-conscious accommodations, you are positioning yourself in one of the safest and most beautiful districts in Paris. You will have the privilege of walking past illuminated monuments at night and enjoying quiet morning strolls before the tourist crowds arrive.
Paris is a city meant to be lived in, not just observed from a tour bus. Staying in a smaller, affordable hotel forces you to engage with the neighborhood—to buy your morning baguette, to sit in the local park, and to walk the streets rather than relying on taxis. This connection to the local rhythm is often worth more than a marble lobby or a concierge desk. With the money saved, you can immerse yourself deeper into the art, history, and culinary delights that make this arrondissement so special.
