12 Best Hotels in Arrecife Near the Waterfront

Arrecife, the sun-drenched capital of Lanzarote, offers a unique blend of urban energy and serene coastal charm. Unlike the purpose-built resorts further south, this city feels authentically Canarian, with a working harbor, historic fortresses, and a lively local rhythm. Choosing to stay near the waterfront places you at the very heart of this vibrant atmosphere.

The main waterfront areas center around the Charco de San Ginés, a picturesque lagoon lined with fishing boats and restaurants, and the sweeping urban beaches of Playa del Reducto. Waking up to the sound of gentle waves and the sight of fishing boats bobbing in the harbor is a quintessential Arrecife experience. It connects you immediately to the maritime soul of the island.

Staying near the water also means having the city’s best dining, shopping, and cultural attractions right on your doorstep. You can stroll along the palm-lined Avenida Marítima, explore the Castillo de San Gabriel, or enjoy fresh seafood while watching the sunset, all without needing a car. The convenience is unparalleled for a city break.

For travelers, the waterfront district offers a range of accommodations, from stylish boutique hotels to larger, well-equipped properties with sea views. These hotels provide an excellent base for exploring not just Arrecife, but the rest of Lanzarote, thanks to easy access to public transport and main roads. You get the best of both worlds: local city life and island adventure.

The atmosphere here is distinct from the tourist hubs, offering a more relaxed and authentic pace. Evenings are best spent wandering the marina, where the lights reflect beautifully on the water. It is a setting that encourages you to slow down, breathe in the salty air, and embrace the local lifestyle.

Whether you are visiting for a romantic getaway, a family holiday, or a solo adventure, the right hotel can elevate your entire trip. Proximity to the sea often means better views, cooler breezes, and a more memorable stay. It is about more than just a room; it is about the experience of being immersed in Arrecife’s coastal beauty.

With so many excellent options, finding the perfect waterfront hotel can feel overwhelming. To help you plan your ideal stay, we have curated a list of the best properties in the area, each offering something unique. From modern design to traditional charm, these hotels ensure you are never far from the water.

The hotel has a beautiful location right by the beach. The rooms were clean and the housekeeping service was excellent. Breakfast offered a good variety and was very tasty overall. Unfortunately, the scrambled eggs and fried eggs were already cold when served. It would also be nice if the noise level during clearing of the dishes could be reduced a little, as this slightly affected the otherwise pleasant and relaxing atmosphere.

My wife & I have literally just returned home after a lovely 9 night stay at the Lancelot hotel. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean & well maintained & perfectly situated by the beach with a fabulous palm fringed prom giving easy access to shops, bar's & restaurants. We had a well appointed ocean view room on the 3rd floor which was definitely worth a little extra & highly recommended. The staff truly made our stay memorable, checkin was swift & smooth & every member of staff were polite & very attentive which made us feel like very welcomed guests. Perhaps one slight issue was the buffet...the food was excellent, lovely selection both at breakfast & evening meal but could have been hotter as certain dishes were only warm at best but otherwise very good & has us thinking about a return visit within the coming months.

Overall it’s a brilliant stay, the service is lovely the rooms are cleaned daily and it’s a clean, new feeling. We had a leak in our shower causing it to slightly flood a bit but other than that it’s only 6 minutes from the airport and it’s right on the beach and the room itself is amazing and it was great value for the location

I cannot fault this place at all. The bathroom and rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was very adequate (although I wasn’t a fan of the juice machine) All the staff were very friendly and helpful The location was amazing- beach in front, shops nearby, and walking distance from the waterfront area. You have two options for parking- 1) off Ave Fred Olsen there’s a huge free car park about 10 mins walk away. 2) parking Islas canarias which is a large underground car park essentially on the doorstep. The hotel will give you a voucher for 12€/24hr which we opted for to save us the hassle. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Arrecife

Great location on beach front. Rooms exactly as described. Overall poor value for money and expensive for what it is, even though we booked direct which was cheaper than other options. We stayed in March when it was cold and THERE IS NO HEATING IN THE HOTEL ROOMS! Breakfast below average, exceptionally noisy environment and most of the restaurant staff were extremely unwelcoming. IT IS ALSO WORTH NOTING, THAT IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON STAYING IN A ROOM ON THE FRONT WITH A SEA VIEW; YOU WILL BE WOKEN EVERY MORNING AT 7am BY THE DIGGER THAT CLEANS THE BEACH DAILY! NOT THE HOTELS FAULT BUT CERTAINLY A CONSIDERATION

Booked 2 nights here on Friday, arrived Saturday, and well I was really impressed with the hotel, the stage were absolutely fantastic.extremely helpful, and made our stay so much better. Highly recommend this hotel. The buffet breakfast was pretty good too. So much variety, the sea view rooms are fantastic. As is the air conditioned rooms. Mini fridge is a great idea, the only thing that we was surprised by, was the lack of a kettle or tea making facilities.

Our stay was so good, the attention in the reception was good and everyone helped me when needed. Marcela walked the extra mile for my kid and she was so caring and attentive even when she was alone with all the breakfast run always with the smile, we missed her the last two days she was off in the restaurant. The room was comfy and very clean. Excellent location near the bus station where you can take any bus to any direction. Thank you all.

Underwhelming Positives: Diamar is in a convenient location and and my 5th-floor room with a terrace offered good views over the beach, promenade and sea. The room itself was clean and pleasant. Negatives: There were several issues. Most importantly, the hotel has a cockroach problem: I encountered several in the room during my six-day stay, obviously very disagreeable Breakfasts had a poor quality feel and overall the hotel felt overpriced. Warning: I booked on the official Diamar website. The agreed price was in euros but I later discovered the hotel had charged my UK credit card in GBP without authorisation, using a very poor exchange rate plus a 3% mark up,. Diamar denied the unauthorised charge despite evidence. The issue required a formal dispute through my UK bank to get it resolved. With improvements, it could be a decent option—but currently I don’t think it is and I won’t be back.

This just isn’t it. Lanzarote the place of sun and volcanic rock, an island to explore. Don’t let this place be your stay. I had a few experiences here and the outcome was due to the dislike of the English. You have to kill the staff with kindness to get anywhere. Breakfast was fine, the rooms clean, I woke up every night even wearing ear plugs due to furniture move upstairs and doors slamming in the corridors. If you have a balcony room you’re sure to have s better experience but anything else I really recommend you to not stay here. It’s a great location but not for family’s or lone travellers. I sat outside every night and witnessed an English man being knocked off a bench by a kid pulling wheelies on a bike on purpose. Drunks shouting and drinking late into the night. No great holiday will happen from staying here.
Big John★★★★★
I really dont understand some of the poor reviews for this hotel. The building is quite modern, the lifts are fast and really modern. The breakfast has plenty to choose from, after all - its a 3 star, not a 5 star. The hotel throughout is clean and tidy, as are the rooms. The cleaning team are eager to clean your room every day if you desire, and if you need anything - you only have to ask. My room, which has a sea view is highly recommended. The beds are very comfortable and overall a great room. Any staff I've interacted with have been pleasant, friendly and helpful. Location is good, a short walking distance to everything.

Clean and basic, service was great, quiet. However if you want to open your window, you end up looking in someone else's room. Had AC. Shared kitchen

Clean but very basic rooms located in the city centre. Shared kitchen doesn't really offer a lot of potential for cooking. Staff was really helpful, ordered a taxi for me to go to Orzola

! It seems okay at first, the receptionist is nice. But run away! You won't sleep here. I haven't slept for three days. The beds are terrible. The cleaning ladies yell in the hallways at 9 a.m. when they wake you up, they knock things over, push furniture like truck drivers, and don't respect their sleeping guests. RUN AWAY!!!!!

Nice hotel. Good comfy beds for sleeping, but not the place for intimate breaks. Walls are thin and windows all point inwards.
Andrew Horváth★★★★☆
Very basic rooms , however we knew this when booking .. clean bedding ,clean room , good housekeeping. The roof top terrace is perfect for breakfast whilst watching the sun rise. The location is excellent for the many restaurants around the harbour with it been on your doorstep. The main shopping area is 5 mins walk and the beach is 15-20 mins walk .

The staff were nice. The view on the noisy side street was underwhelming and parking was a nightmare because the staff didn't know about the street closures. Bad value for money (but we stayed during New Years Eve, so fair enough). Breakfast very simple.

Smart rooms. Good breakfast but no bar or restaurant at the moment. Limited car parking at 14 euros per night. Free parking available next to the harbour, 10 mins walk away.

Not the most cozy or modern rooms. Bring Ear Protection for good sleep. Apart from that the location is great and the roof terrace with solarium and breakfast are wonderful.

I have somewhat mixed feelings about my stay at Hotel Miramar in Arrecife. On one hand, its location is absolutely unbeatable—right in the heart of the city and facing the sea, it offers stunning ocean views that are truly a privilege to wake up to. I was fortunate to be assigned a room with a beautiful view of the water, which initially gave me high expectations for the rest of the experience. However, the condition of the room left much to be desired. Many of the furnishings and fixtures felt outdated or poorly maintained. For instance, the hooks for hangers were rusted, and several elements showed signs of wear and tear. The room was not well-equipped for modern travelers, lacking sufficient power outlets and offering no USB charging ports, which I would strongly recommend adding to accommodate international guests. The shower was partially damaged, and the terrace doors were misaligned, making them difficult to operate. Despite these issues, one standout highlight was the breakfast buffet—a truly pleasant surprise. It offered a generous selection of high-quality, fresh items, all served on a lovely terrace with panoramic views of the sea, making mornings a genuine pleasure. One notable aspect was the excessive signage throughout the hotel, which felt overly instructive at times. While I understand the intention is to guide guests, the abundance of rules and notices somewhat diminished the sense of comfort and freedom. That said, I must commend the staff, who were consistently attentive, polite, and eager to help, contributing positively to the overall experience. With some thoughtful renovations and a more guest-friendly design approach, Hotel Miramar has great potential to shine.

We would both highly recommend Apartamentos Islamar Arrecife and its staff. My wife and I stayed here mid January 2026 and were allocated the penthouse on the 7th floor. The complex was extremely impressive for only rated 2 stars but we would both give it a good 3 or even 4 stars overall (depending on what you want from a holiday) Ok, there is no gym, no pool etc but we knew that. We simply wanted a week away in the sun to relax. The complex was clean, quiet and freshly decorated. Cleaners offered to come in every day but we didn’t need them. Reception staff were excellent. Most spoke a variety of languages and all spoke English bar Teresa who seems would cover evenings and weekends. She was lovely and very helpful. Rooms were spotless and again freshly decorated albeit basic but they had everything we needed. AS most reviews will state, all rooms are sea facing with a balcony and the roof top has a further 6 or more sunbeds with a jacuzzi and shower. FYI -The area around the apartments is quiet, certainly while we were there. There are enough cafes, bars and restaurants to sample somewhere different each night but choose wisely, there are only a few very good ones. Perfect for a budget friendly, quiet week of sunbathing, strolling around the harbour and going for a few drinks at sunset but that would be the limit unless you are prepared to hire a car, taxi or take a tour. Thanks to all the staff.

We've been holidaying in many apartments over the years but for location, luxury, views and the most helpful and friendly staff - this is just the best. Attention to detail is amazing - even the flowers on the banisters are hand painted. There's a very quaint lift that plays birdsong too - we'll be back just as soon as we can. Thank you Theresa!

Apartamentos Islamar Arrecife, Amazing apartments . —right on the seafront, just steps from Reducto Beach, with stunning views of Arrecife Bay and the botanical gardens from the balcony. It’s perfectly positioned, only a short walk from the city center, local restaurants on your doorstep , bus station just along the road takes you to playa Honda playa blanca puerto del carmen airport etc . Buses are extremely cheap - it feels peaceful and removed from the bustle of other resorts on lanzarote bright and spacious, with a clean quirky design that gave it a fresh, welcoming vibe. There is a well-equipped kitchen but I found eating out really cheap ,lounge with a sofa bed and TV was a nice touch for relaxing. All balconies are seaview ,free wi-fi The rooftop solarium and hot tub were a highlight—pure relaxation with panoramic views. For the price, it’s hard to beat the value, especially with the beachfront location and thoughtful amenities. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable apartment to explore Lanzarote—perfect for couples or solo travelers who value scenery and convenience. I’d happily return!

Quirky little place Apartment are spotless and have every thing you need . Staff are friendly and welcoming although they can’t speak English they do try as much as we try to speak Spanish . Cleaners come in every day so your apartment is spotless Roof top has sun beds umbrellas shower and jacuzzi Perfect location for the sea , beach , shops and museums Definitely coming back

Don't judge a book by its cover. It may have two keys because it doesn't have a gym pool etc however in reality it should have four stars plus. Staff are really great, pleasant and helpful the rooms are finished to a very high standard and are spotlessly clean. The decor throughout the building is trendy and just a tiny bit wacky and again to a very high standard. I really can't praise this place enough I have stayed in 4* Boutique hotels they don't really come close to this.

The new pool is set up beautifully & is run smoothly. reception staff are always helpful & smiley. I could not recommend enough every time we come we make memories to last a lifetime. Thank you to all the staff here at this hotel & spa (which is also another stunning & relaxing facility) I hope I get to come here again and again for years to come

Checked in with my family (2 rooms) for one night due to our flight being cancelled. Was arrange all by our airline. Fabulous hotel with friendly staff. Rooms are excellent. Comfy beds and fully controlled air conditioned. WiFi in the room. Electric curtains that open on arrival to the room and close when you leave keeping the room cool. Would recommend to everyone.

Great hotel in a great location. Lovely shops and local restaurants to visit. Great value for money. Staff are lovely, Thanks to Lina for our lovely mojitos! John in reception was very welcoming and helpful in guiding us for our holiday ventures. Highly recommended!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable Barraquito with a breathtaking view! One of the most beautiful coffee experiences I've had in Lanzarote. The Barraquito was perfectly prepared – smooth, rich, and deliciously balanced with just the right sweetness. Served with a small biscuit, it was the perfect treat. But the real highlight is the view. Sitting high above the bay, looking out over the crystal-clear turquoise water, golden beach, and volcanic landscape, was simply spectacular. The scenery alone is worth a visit. A perfect place to relax, enjoy a traditional Canarian coffee, and take in one of the best views on the island. Highly recommended! 🌴☕🌊💙

I recently stayed at this two-star hotel in the Arrecife area and paid about $150 CAD for one night. Unfortunately, I found it to be significantly overpriced for what was offered. I was initially given a room with three beds, which felt unnecessary and didn’t add any real value to the stay. The room itself was very basic — clean enough, but quite dated and lacking the comfort or amenities that would justify the price. I also stayed in a two-person room, which was still fairly expensive considering the standard. The only real positive was the staff. They were friendly and accommodating, which I appreciated. That said, for a two-star hotel in Arrecife, the pricing feels far too high for the condition and simplicity of the rooms. With some renovations and upgrades, the cost might make more sense. In its current state, it would be more appropriately priced closer to hostel-level shared accommodation rates.
Saskia Denys★☆☆☆☆
They should close this place for inferior hygene. My wife had bed bugs all over her body from the bed and they did nothing and refused a refund. We had many pictures as proof and reported it immediately. Terrible hygene and customer service
Laura Naginyte★★★★★
If you are looking for a stereotypical Spanish resort style hotel then Residencia Cardona is not the place for you. It is, at its heart, a hostel where you get what you pay for; somewhere to sleep 3 minutes walk from the beach in Arrecife. What sets this hostel apart from others I have stayed in is that they do not pretend to be something they are not, and what they do they do very very well. The hostel is immaculately clean, from the moment you walk until you walk out again. We had a double room for a week, which had 2 single beds (not a problem as we pushed them together) and each room has its own private bathroom with toilet, wash basin and shower. There were also toiletries provided in the room (soap, shampoo and shower gel) which were replenished during our stay. All guests also have use of the shared kitchen and laundry room if needed, which again are kept to the highest standards. Parking at the hostel is extremely limited, due to its location on a narrow residential street, but they have an agreement with the Arrecife Grand Hotel, whereby guests car park at the Grand Hotel’s underground car park for a reduced rate of 12€ for 24hrs, you just need to ask at the desk of Residencia Cardona and they will sort this for you. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back
Kamila Tulebaeva★★★★★
We had one night stay in this hotel and we liked our experience. The room was very clean and we had spacious room. Overall, the hotel worth its price. Location is central, close to shops and restaurants. The beach 5 min by walk. Despite, reviews about noise are correct but it's not so terrible.
Tea Horvatić★★★★☆
Super clean hostel, very well organised, we had clean beds and towels, shampoos are complimentary. The only downside was the window overlooking the indoor patio, we had very poor air flow, difficult to vent for some fresh air. However, the price for one night was good and the location is perfect in the centre, close to the beach and close to all the restaurants and shopping area. Worth a visit.

As a single traveller l really enjoyed my stay at Blue Marina. Clean, comfortable and convenient to various restaurants, the promenade and shops. Room 101 did not have a sea view but it suited me as l am a light sleeper and it was quiet. The local buses to take you to different resorts was 20 minute walk away along the sea front. The Cesar Manriqe foundation was a 11euro taxi trip away and was really beautiful. I will come back - thank you. A bonus was that it was Carnival week - amazing.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Rooms look very nice and are well presented and good facilities. For me the issue was the bedroom faced into the lobby and had a window into the lobby too. This meant there was no ventilation to the room. We also didn’t pick up on the fact there was no air conditioning. 3 very warm nights in October-would really hate staying here if it was summer time and v hot! Just be aware of this fact. Otherwise comfortable and well presented in decent location for the city the hosts were very helpful too when we encountered an issue accessing room.

The room/studio is beautifully decorated. Location wise, there are shops, a supermarket and restaurants nearby. It is not far from central bus station where you can take bus and waitng for your pick up from tour operators. I left my jacket inside the room, and contacted the stuff. They are very responsive and helpful, I got it eventually. Highly reommend the accommodation.

Blue marina suites were lovely to stay in for a short Holiday. The apartment itself was beautiful and in a great location . However the ammenities were not up to scratch- no hand soap in the bathroom. As for the kitchen it had some utensils that were left all dirty from the previous tenants and had no chopping board or kitchen knife or baking trays for the oven so I wouldn’t call this a fully stocked kitchen. I’ve stayed at much better apartments in arrecife for a lot less money. Another issue we had was being bitten by mosquitoes overnight despite our windows and doors all being shut the whole time we were there. However, the terrace and gym were a nice addition. Would I stay again? Maybe not , but it’s definitely worth it if you aren’t fussed about using the actual kitchen appliances.
Laura Jimmerson★★★★★
The Blue Marina apartments are very well located. Nearby, you will find a wide variety of shops and cafés. The rooms are ideal and nothing is missing. The only drawback is the lack of air conditioning. The staff's service was impeccable. Even when our codes failed, Manuela, the receptionist, kindly helped us over the phone late at night. We will definitely be back.

I will start by saying I made a mistake with the date of the booking and it is totally my fault - I realised my error when I was at the airport and my check in instructions were not arriving. I booked for 31.01 not 31.12. Yet, here I am, already in Lanzarote, on New Years Eve (solo traveller) with a perspective of no hotel for the night - everything on all platforms is all booked up unless you’re willing to spend £600 for one night which I don’t have. Reservation I got was non refundable, I get how last minute cancellations can hurt small businesses and I absolutely stand by rules that protect such businesses. However, I made an honest, genuine error and considering I now need to book something very expensive very last minute to not be left on the street for the night - I contacted the hotel asking to waive the charge for this reservation. They have a month to fill this one night slot which they easily would do. Without a moment hesitation they refuse. I find it so mean considering the circumstances. It is a very stressful situation for me yet they did nothing. I absolutely get I made a mistake here, but honestly does it hurt to be human and help someone out? I know how cancellations can hurt small businesses but on this occasion you guys had a month to fill it again. This is really not ok. Thank you for making an already stressful situation much worse and showing absolutely zero empathy. I hope karma goes back to you

What an amazing room and apartment. Outside looks very cosy in your average street(1 minute walking from the Charco boulevard) but inside is amazing. High ceilings, huge living room, spacious kitchen. The style is special, but it works. Bed was perfect, the kitchen really simple but did the trick. Bathroom could have been beter as the warm water was not sufficient for more than 2 people taking a shower after each other. Solarium outside was perfect with some sunbeds and tables. I visited in march so the jacuzzi was a bit cold, but can imagjne this is perfect in summer times. Parking is available on the street in front. Would recommend 10/10, especially for the price
Mathew Maokh★★★★★
Perfect. Spacious, clean and calm. The flat is very well located in the city and it is really easy to find some space to park your car in the streets of the neighborhood. The jacuzzi space is also a big plus and is a great place to relax and eat some imaginary pizzas (since you can’t eat on the terrass)

Let down with unreliable cleaner. Apartment is ok with good wifi and air conditioner. Well located but I suffered severe building work noise from nearby renovations. Management intervention helped but noise still persisted. So not ideal

Great little apartments, serviced like a hotel with daily cleaning, nice and comfy. Free parking on the roads outside. Only thing to mond is the road noise from the main road up behind - not overly intrusive or loud but constant if you're sitting round the pool or on the sunbeds on the terrace. Can't hear it in the apartment though. The pool isn't heated (in january).

Nazaret Beach: Absolute Perfection in an Adults-Only Retreat Nazaret Beach is a hidden gem that delivers on every promise of a high-end, adults-only resort The apartments are truly exceptional: modern, remarkably spacious, and kept in immaculate condition by the diligent team. We particularly loved the large outdoor patio area, which offered a fantastic private space for enjoying morning coffee and evening drinks. Everything felt brand new, clean, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. The pool area stunning. It features a beautiful, clean design and offers ample, comfortable, and modern sunbeds, ensuring there was never any need to rush for a spot. A perfect spot for unwinding. Despite being in a quiet, peaceful location, the convenience is unbeatable. Nazaret Beach is perfectly situated for easy access to shops, local bars, and restaurants, and offers easy walks to both Arrecife and Matagorda. Its proximity to the airport is also a huge bonus, making transfers seamless. What elevates this experience even further is the customer service. Although the owners are off-site, their excellent service is available 24/7, ensuring any query or need is handled quickly and professionally. They clearly prioritize guest satisfaction. We highly recommend Nazaret Beach for any couple or individual seeking tranquility, luxury, and convenience. We would most definitely come back and look forward to our next visit!

Beautiful villas located near the sea close to the centre of Playa Honda. Probably the best equipped accomodation that I have ever stayed in with a dishwasher and washing machine! Immaculately clean and serviced regularly.

What a wonderful, peaceful and immaculate place. The room's are spacious, spotless, modern, comfortable and very well equipped. You also have your own generous outside space too with sun loungers and table chairs. The beds are also very comfy. There's about 25 apartments here. We were there beginning of October and the pool was lovely and warm, definitely heated and we often had the whole pool to ourselves. There's absolutely everything you need for a self catering holiday including a dishwasher and washing machine. They've thought of everything. Aircon and TV in the bedroom AND living room. You're just 5 minutes walk from an unspoilt beach and 10 minutes walk from a shopping mall with some entertainment and a supermarket It's more of a residential area and very different from the busy busy busy Teguise and Carmen. Bus number 3 will take you to Carmen or Teguise for just a few €. Another bonus is you're about 15 minutes away from the airport. And no, the nearby planes are not a problem at all. All in all we loved our holiday and a "hola" and thank you to Anna and the team looking after the complex.
Sally Baker★★★★★
These apartments are beautiful.Well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a peaceful relaxing holiday. The staff who maintain the apartments ,pool & surroundings are excellent. The area around the complex is residential. There is a supermarket nearby Plus the beach is just a short distance away. We will be returning to these apartments we had a lovely holiday.

Amazing place - better than the "boutique hotel" we stayed at the days before. The staff, from the reception team to the housekeeping crew, were all friendly and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean and smelled wonderful.

A fantastic stay. Hostal España is perfectly located next to the beautiful Charco de San Ginés, in a lively area and very close to everything. The room was spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained, and it's clear that the facilities have been renovated and designed to make your stay enjoyable. Special mention goes to the staff, who were incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming at all times, making me feel right at home. We also thoroughly enjoyed the café and the breakfast. Without a doubt, excellent value for money and a highly recommended place to stay for enjoying Arrecife and Lanzarote. Thank you for everything!

Clean and well located hostel, close to the bus station. Check-in is fully contactless and works smoothly. Rooms are very small and feel cramped compared to other hostels I’ve stayed in. Bathrooms are also quite small for the number of guests. Overall, it’s a clean and practical stay, but quite limited in space for the price.

This is a very cute little hostel. I chose it because it looked small, cute and like it was quaint rather than too big and "comercial". It is very quirky, theres lots of surf boards and bikes which were seemingly for hire. There was "no receptionist" but there was a lady who was sort of in charge and she was doing the job of a receptionist and keeping all things in order and maybe cleaning too so I hope she gets paid well. Friendly staff, quite easy to communicate via the whatsapp number. The room i stayed in was two sets of bunk beds so that meant noise levels were pretty fine to be able to sleep. Theres one good couch in the living room and two that look like they could give you a bad back. Need replacing. Location was fine, kitchen was pretty good, had everything basic you might need to cook with. I loved the gap in the roof in the living room, you can see the nice blue sky through it.

The hostel has a central location in Arrecife. There is a kitchen with where you can cowork too, wifi is stable. Bedrooms are tiny. I must admit though that the beds are comfortable. Free towels. The host is friendly and helpful. Cons: There is only one toilet for men, and one for women along with two showers for all the guests. Can recommend it!

Warm welcoming and buenisima honda. Make sure u get the code to enter in advance so not to wait in front of the door (which is not a great deal anyway). If you don’t have a reservation they might help you find a spot anyway. Very clean and tidy. Somewhat noisy if you sleep by the windows facing the street (earplugs work fine for that matter). I would highly recommend.

Practical Tips for Booking a Waterfront Hotel in Arrecife

Securing the perfect waterfront hotel requires a bit of planning, as the best rooms with sea views are often the first to be reserved. Understanding the local landscape and what to expect from different properties can make all the difference. These practical tips are designed to help you make an informed decision and enhance your overall experience in Arrecife.

Book a Sea View Room in Advance: Hotels along the waterfront have a limited number of rooms with direct, unobstructed views of the ocean or the Charco de San Ginés. These are in high demand, especially during peak travel seasons like winter and early spring. Requesting a sea view room when booking, and confirming it directly with the hotel, ensures you get the experience you are paying for.

Consider the Location’s Ambiance: The waterfront in Arrecife is not a single, uniform strip. The area around the Charco de San Ginés is atmospheric and historic, with a lively dining scene that can be bustling into the evening. In contrast, the hotels along the Playa del Reducto and the Avenida Marítima offer a more open, beachfront feel. Consider whether you prefer the intimate charm of the lagoon or the expansive views of the main beach.

Check for Parking or Use Public Transport: Parking in the center of Arrecife can be challenging, as streets are narrow and spaces are limited. If you are renting a car to explore Lanzarote, verify that your chosen hotel offers on-site or nearby parking, even if it comes with a daily fee. Alternatively, if you plan to stay mostly in the city, relying on local buses and taxis is a stress-free way to get around.

Embrace the Local Dining Scene: While many waterfront hotels have excellent restaurants, stepping just outside your door will lead you to some of the best local cuisine in Lanzarote. The restaurants around the Charco are famous for fresh fish, papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes), and local wines. Use your hotel’s location as a launchpad to explore these culinary gems, rather than dining exclusively on-site.

Be Mindful of the Wind: Lanzarote is a volcanic island in the Atlantic, and it can be quite windy, particularly in the summer months when the trade winds blow. While this breeze is often a welcome relief from the heat, it can make some exposed terraces and beachfront promenades feel blustery. Packing a light layer for evenings by the water is always a wise idea, even in the summer.

Choosing to stay near the water in Arrecife is a decision that places you at the center of the island’s authentic capital life. The gentle sound of the sea, the convenience of walking to major sights, and the stunning views create a holiday atmosphere that is hard to replicate elsewhere on the island. It is an excellent choice for travelers who value character and local flavor.

As you plan your journey, remember that the best trips are often those that balance relaxation with exploration. A waterfront hotel in Arrecife provides the perfect sanctuary to return to after a day of discovering Lanzarote’s volcanic landscapes, vineyards, and pristine beaches. It is more than just a place to sleep; it is a key part of your Canary Islands experience.
