12 Best Cheap Hotels in Honfleur

Honfleur’s postcard-perfect harbour, timber-framed houses, and artistic legacy make it one of Normandy’s most enchanting destinations. Unfortunately, that charm often comes with a premium price tag, especially during the summer months. Staying in the historic centre can quickly drain your travel budget before you have even tasted a single moules-frites.

The good news is that you do not need to sacrifice comfort or location to find an affordable bed for the night. The surrounding areas of Honfleur are dotted with budget-friendly hotels, family-run guesthouses, and practical motel-style accommodations. These options allow you to enjoy the beauty of the estuary without paying for a view of the Vieux Bassin from your pillow.

Choosing budget accommodation here often means trading a central postcode for free parking, quieter nights, and larger rooms. Many of the cheapest stays are located just a short drive or a pleasant walk from the historic centre. This trade-off is particularly valuable for road-trippers exploring the wider Calvados region.

When evaluating cheap hotels in Honfleur, it is important to look beyond the nightly rate. Consider what is included in the price, such as breakfast, Wi-Fi, or secure parking, as these extras can save you a significant amount of money. A slightly higher room rate with free parking is often cheaper overall than a central hotel charging €15 a day for a space.

The best budget stays in Honfleur combine clean, functional rooms with genuine Norman hospitality. You can expect practical amenities rather than luxury spas, but a warm welcome and a good night’s sleep are guaranteed. Many of these properties are independently owned, meaning your money goes directly into the local economy.

Below, we have curated a list of the best affordable accommodations that prove you can visit this beautiful port town on a modest budget. These selections prioritize value, cleanliness, and accessibility to the main sights.

Room was basic with no frills, it was clean and comfortable. Reception staff were friendly. Breakfast is worth the 9 euros. Easy walk to all restaurants.

Clean And comfortable. Good location but no parking. Room small but has everything that is needed. Nice shower.

Good location plenty of parking. But ibis styles is more to city centre (only 150 meters)

Hotel in process of renovation. We were lucky to have a newly renovated room, it was spotless including the bathroom. Bed was comfortable and view over the bridge was nice. Staff very pleasant and excellent breakfast with plentiful selection of drinks was included in the rate. the lift could be improved, it is a bit dodgy. Also there was no shower foot towel which made the floor wet. Free parking available 100m away I recommended staying here, excellent.

Very clean, ok room size, very nice ad helpful lady at the front desk. I asked about some cheese recommendations and she took a time to even search online and explained to me the differences and gave me tips to get the right ones! Amazing 🤩

I had a good experience with this hotel. For personal reasons, I had to cancel my 3-day reservation. I received my refund in a reasonable amount of time.

We had a generally pleasant stay at the Première Classe Hotel in Honfleur. The hotel is located in a quiet area, which made for peaceful nights. Our room was clean, and the bed was comfortable — exactly what we needed after a long day of exploring. However, there are a few points to be aware of. The cleaning staff seemed poorly organized, and our room wasn’t ready by the official check-in time. Also, the reception is only open during specific hours, so plan your arrival accordingly. Make sure to book your breakfast when reserving your room — it's €6.20 and not included by default. During summer, the parking area fills up quickly, and although there's a gate and a small entrance, they remain open 24/7, so parking isn't particularly secure. Lastly, note that the rooms are not air-conditioned, which can be uncomfortable in warmer weather. Overall, it’s a good budget option if you’re not expecting too much.
Rich Neasom★★★★☆
This is a budget hotel. It is basic but delivers everything you need for a budget price. The location isn’t ideal if you need to walk into Honfleur but it’s close enough. It is however near to a few places to eat and grocery shops. I recommend Amoretto for a good value Italian meal 10 minutes away. The hotel is very clean and well presented. The staff were friendly and generally very professional. On one morning breakfast was several minutes late but aside from that everything was good. Rooms are compact but functional. The en-suite bathroom is small but again it’s perfectly functional. The shower is reminiscent of a caravan or overnight ferry but the water was hot and plentiful. Breakfast was a basic continental affair. Freshly baked croissants were accompanied by baguette, wholemeal sliced bread (with a toaster) yoghurts and conserves. Drinks were orange juice and a coffee machine which provided a full array of coffee choices. All sufficient but no fresh fruit or meats/cheeses. Not ideal if you are on a low carbohydrate diet 😬. For the price we paid (approximately €70 including breakfast) it does the basics very well. It is not pretending to be anything more expensive so it’s true to itself. I would certainly recommend this hotel for an overnight stay.

Avoid — double-charged and zero response I booked Première Classe Honfleur via Booking.com and was charged twice — once when I paid at the property and again by Booking.com. I’ve sent 10+ emails to the hotel and there’s still no reply and no refund. The whole thing has been frustrating and time-consuming. Location-wise, it’s 15–20 minutes’ walk to the center and sits right off the highway, very much a roadside motel vibe. For peace of mind, I’d pay a few euros more and stay elsewhere. Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)

The hotel is what you can expect of this kind of hotel. Not the most luxurious but the bed was nice and the room was clean. The receptionist Nathalie made my stay a lot better though. I had some trouble with self check-in and she didn’t hesitate to help me out. Thanks!

My stay was very disappointing, especially as an Accor Gold member. I had specifically requested a larger room, but was instead given what I was told was the largest room available, which felt extremely small and had two beds. To make matters worse, it was the very first room on the ground floor right next to the parking entrance, meaning anyone coming in or out had a direct view into the room. As I was travelling with an infant, this felt particularly uncomfortable and unsuitable. Because of this, I decided to check out the next day, cutting my two-night stay down to one night. At checkout, I was informed that the second night would be refunded, which seemed reasonable and standard practice. However, I later received an email saying that no refund would be provided. Service was also below expectations. Staff struggled to communicate in English and did not seem well informed about policies or procedures. There was also little recognition of my Accor status, with no upgrade or any noticeable benefits. Overall, the experience felt closer to a budget hostel stay than a hotel experience. I ended up wasting 12,000 points on a two-night booking that I only used for one night, and then had to spend more money on another hotel because this property was simply too uncomfortable to continue staying in. I would not recommend this hotel for families, especially those travelling with young children
AirJay★☆☆☆☆
I wish I could be more positive. We came here with high expectations due to its rating but especially the reception was very disappointing. We always want cold rooms and quiet (we mentioned that booking) And to our surprise the room was in the sun and next to the construction. Of all the places you can choose you choose the rooms 100% against our wishes. Also the airconditioning can’t be set lower than 21 and also reception can’t override this they say. They could in the past but not anymore. When we mentioned that this is an issue for us and that we were staying there at the same time of our wedding anniversary they just said they can’t and won’t do anything for us. The anniversary was also mentioned at time of booking and you can argue that the other items for the rooms are just a preference, doing just a small thing for an anniversary after a rough start would have been minimum. Just a card or something acknowledging that fact. But I guess this is even too much of a challenge for guest hospitality capabilities. We asked for the manager but not available at the time and we also guess coming back to us later is also to big of a reach in capabilities of this team. Such a waist while these small things make a difference. I travel a lot for my work but this is one of the worst I have ever encountered.
Gary Whinnett★★★★☆
Everything was good. Bed comfortable. Good buffet breakfast. Quiet. Heaps of safe parking. Only issue was that the air-conditioning had been turned off for winter and our room got extremely hot at 2 am because we didn't know. When we asked they told us to just open a window. We think it's great that they turn off the air-conditioning, better for the environment but put a note in the room that a) the windows are able to be opened and b) it's OK to do that. Also it's about a 20 minute walk into the centre, not 5 minutes as stated in the hotel info.

This IBIS is a really nice hotel which has been updated with a modern, fresh decor. There is lots of parking, including EV charging points. Access is via a steep set of steps which, at the time, were wet and potentially slippy. The welcome was efficient, warm and friendly. Our room was lovely and spacious and very comfortable. The usual IBIS shower room 'pod' was bright and fully functional. One minor irritation is that the soap dispensers were set too high on the wall that my wife at 5' 2" could not keep her hand horizontal underneath to catch the soap so it trickled down her palm and wrist. The breakfast area was bright and airy and a good choice of food was available. The hotel is located about a 10 to 15 minute walk into the centre of Honfleur, so is well positioned. However, we had to cross two carriageways and a grassy, wide central reservation (thankfully it wasn't wet) to get to a pavement so perhaps not ideal if you have mobility issues. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.
Andy Colangelo★★★★★
Fantastic location within easy walking distance of the harbour. Ample secure parking to rear which was ideal for our group of scooters. Great rooms, clean and ample size

The staff were extremely helpful. Due to my wife's mobility issues they went over and above to accommodate our needs. The location of the hotel is right in the centre of Honfleur, making it ideally situated for us to explore the town. Our room had everything that we needed to make our stay enjoyable. There was ample choice for breakfast and the hotel staff were always so friendly. We would definitely recommend Le Dauphin and if we returned to Honfleur (which is a beautiful place to visit), we would have no hesitation in staying there again.
Ben Saunders★★★★★
Lovely old hotel right in the middle of town. Very helpful staff and secure storage for bicycles. It was a little difficult to get to the hotel as the town centre was blocked off due to building works. I really hope this doesn't affect the business. We would definitely stay here again.
Clare Green★★☆☆☆
We were really disappointed with our visit. We were told a few days before that some roads were closed around the hotel and how to access the hotel but we weren't warned how bad it was. It was basically a construction site in front of the hotel and very difficult to get to. We had also paid for a room with a view of the square, which was just a view of a building site. I understand that the situation was out of your control but a room discount or a bottle of wine or some small token would have been nice. When we mentioned this to staff they seemed unconcerned. The hotel is also quite dated, lots of chipped paint, old carpets and our shower doors didn't close properly. All in all quite a disappointing experience and we won't be returning.

Lovely location, but not such a good experience. We had a room in the attic, which we were called about a few days before arriving: would it be a problem to climb this much stairs? That wasn’t the problem. Had they only told us about the unbearable heat in the room… It was known at that time a heatwave was coming and surely they knew it would be very hot in the room, as the receptionist afterwards told us they sometimes had to shut down and cancel these rooms because of unhealthy warming up of the top floors. No ventilator in the room, had to ask for one and take it upstairs ourselves. After the first night we asked for a solution, alas: no other rooms available so the very friendly receptionist got us two more ventilators. Unfortunately that didn’t do much since the room temperature at night stayed 33 degrees Celsius. It was cooler in the staircase. Room windows couldn’t be opened because of the noise of renovation works (and their ventilation machines working all night) across the street. Another factor that didn’t help: the plastic sheet on the bed (logically there for hygienic reasons) wasn’t put there properly after making the bed. In the middle of the night we woke up laying on a plastic layer, adding on the uncomfortable feeling we already had from the sauna-like bedroom. At checking out the receptionist took in our complaints, apologized and said she would inform management and ask for some sort of compensation. Never heard back unfortunately.

A hidden gem. Right in the center of Honfleur the 5 of us stayed in their town house (La Maison de Louise). Absolutely perfect. Everything is in the description but there is also a private patio for late summer dinner, privately yet outside. Beds are great, rooms are spacious each with an ensuite. Very close to everything and there is a free parking nearby so you don't have to worry about the car. We took the breakfast option. There is everything you want and need for a reasonable price.

The room was a decent size and was clean however the air conditioning didn't work and the service desk was closed so no one could help. We had booked a room here because of the heat wave so it was not an optimal night. Breakfast bar service and selection was great! The hotel is easy to access with plenty of parking. The self check in worked well even though it was our first time doing so. From old Honfleur it is not too far and it is located close to restaurants like McDonald's and a small outlet mall. Our son couldn't find his stuffy when we ended our stay and it took the hotel a week to respond to our request to search for it. We emailed and called many times during their business hours but the line would end the call without the option to leave a message. In addition, incoming calls cost a fee every time. We hope the situation with the stuffy will soon be resolved.

Affordable but not much more. Breakfast was minimal. Room space very tight, there were three of us. Air conditioning making a loud noise every 5-10 minutes so had to switch it off to be able to sleep with. Receptionist didn't speak English so difficult to explain our concerns. Most restaurants in the neighborhood already closed at dinner time on Saturday. No parking can be found in city centre and too far for walking.

An incompetent young man at the reception (and yes, our French is good enough to understand Putain after a discussion about the non functioning AC). We entered the room at 28 degrees, the thermostat was set at 20, but the compressor wasn't kicking in and no help was given by the person who is supposed to greet guests with a smile. Why this guy is filling that position..... who knows. But besides that the hotel is worn out and definitely not worth spending even a single night there. We sadly stayed a few days, our room was never serviced and we had to even bring out our trash. Next time we'll book an Airbnb again! Two stars for location: across an Aldi!

We have just had a very pleasant three-night stay at the Hotel Kyriad near Honfleur. Before the holiday, I was a bit concerned that it was outside the main town, but we needed guaranteed parking so it seemed the best choice. I'm very glad we chose this hotel. First of all, the walk to the harbour area was very pleasant, and it was actually nice to stretch the legs after dinner with a short walk back to the hotel (about 25 mins). The area was quiet and pleasant as well, so no complaints about location. The room was clean and comfortable with very efficient and quiet air-conditioning. My partner is a light sleeper but we heard no noise during the night, so that was great too. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was amazing! Absolutely loads of choice, including a local rice pudding dish - I couldn't believe I was getting the opportunity to have rice pudding for breakfast every day! Only one tiny thing I would change, and that is the coffee from an automatic machine, but this seems to be very standard in hotels these days. Overall, a fabulous place to stay. Highly recommended.

We reserved two rooms on August 16th and upon the checkout found out none of air conditioners worked in both rooms. Mind you this is mid August and it was very hot. Called the front deck and the manager checked air conditioners, confirmed they don't work and said it works in other rooms , but nothing he can do for our rooms... Really, did not offer to move to air conditioned rooms or offered a refund, just like it's supposed to be ? The reviews are glowing, hence expected an excellent service, the reality is far from the online reviews.

I like Ibis Style hotels and they’re always my first choice when I’m in France. This hotel is good. Clean and bright, in a good location with helpful staff. Excellent quality products for breakfast is a big plus for me. I only wish that Ibis Style hotels in the UK had such excellent breakfast options! I stayed here for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it.

A clean hotel which is well located at the heart of the town, with all the advantages of that. Our room was absolutely fine and the breakfast was good too - but nothing special. Parking (paid) is available in front of the hotel but spaces are limited, so you need to be lucky or quick. And a big carpark is available across the road. Spent two nights here.
nigel moss★★★★☆
The decor is interesting in a not-quite-sure-thats-a-positive kind of way but otherwise it's an Ibis so all as you'd expect (definitely a positive) in terms of comfort and value for money. Definitely recommend it. Honfleur is fabulous and the hotel couldn't be more central.
Mei Mei★☆☆☆☆
The rooms are exactly what you'd expect from an Ibis hotel in Europe. Lighting could be improve a bit but overall nothing to complain about. I was cold at first and it took a while to bring the room to a normal temperature. It is pretty calm. The door though was a nightmare, and I could hear the neighbors from the other rooms struggling to open theirs too. The card system is obviously old and the doors have a hard time opening on the 1st trial, or even the second, or third. I also do not understand why they can't add a kettle in each room. That is beyond me honestly. It feels cheap. I put the DND sign early in the morning and changed it to "please make the room" in the late morning... and for 2 days, the staff didn't do the room. It is a first! I am used to staying in hotels from Accor. And it was the first and only time there was no mention whatsoever of - the welcome drink (once again it feels really cheap, like "hope the client forgets so we can save 3 bucks") - any upgrades - no message in the room, no welcome gift, not even a card. And honestly this was really bad. Especially when you are dealing with customers who can compare between a large array of properties in France and abroad - and even more so when you consider the price point of this property vs category. Now let's get to the ugly part: - The breakfast is one of the worst. - There is zero warm food, except for hard boiled eggs. - There is no explanation of what is contained in the food (what type of cold cuts it is, like good luck finding if it is pork or chicken). - There is nothing to eat for someone that doesn't want to get a glucose spike before 8 am. - The fact that they cannot use individual portioning while there is a flu warning and disposition around the country is also very strange. And please don't give me that BS about sustainability, this has nothing to do with saving the planet! Am I supposed to eat that slice of bread people have been coughing on for the past 5 minutes??? Or am I supposed to get some almond milk from the same bottle that has been opened all week? Honestly if the breakfast wasn't included I wouldn't pay for it. This is hardly breakfast and being able to choose between 3 options doesn't make it a "buffet" Once again it feels the team/owner is cheap. This is a very bad strategy in the long run, especially for people who actually spend on hotels, travel a lot, and therefore are asked about which place they recommend.
Dom Smith★★★★★
The hotel is a pretty standard IBIS Style place – it is not luxury but there is everything you need here for a basic stay. The room is comfortable with climate control, thick curtains, a standard bathroom and a nice bed. The breakfast was a buffet affair with a good selection of bread and croissants etc, yoghurt and cold meat and cheese. There is a free coffee machine available all day and also a small bar. There is plenty of parking available, but some carparks are cheaper than others so make sure you know the price before you park. The hotel is a minutes’ walk from the harbor which is beautiful to look at and surrounded by numerous restaurants. For a standard bar you should try Maddie’s, just around the corner (Happy Hour 19-21 every day!) The staff at this IBIS were fantastic, the person who checked us in worked quickly and efficiently. He was helpful, friendly, and enjoyable to chat with (in English, French, Spanish and Philippine.) Hon fleur is a beautiful town which is worth visiting for any reason but we used it as a base for a visit to the Normandy beaches and I would happily stay at this hotel again if we repeat the trip in the future.

This was our second stay in under a year and it didn’t disappoint. Perfect location for an overnight stay in the beautiful Honfleur. All staff from check in to check out were helpful, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Rooms were well appointed and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Bed linen, pillows and the bed made for an amazing nights sleep. Breakfast on the sunny terrace was huge and the food and drink kept being delivered. Very tasty local products. Set us up for the long journey ahead. I highly recommend the hotel and the staff here. Second to none! Thank you and we will see you again soon.

We reserved incorrect dates at this hotel. We are uncertain if this was a booking platform system error or our error. In our view, the hotel acted very unreasonably despite having more than 72 hours to find a replacement client for the incorrect booking (in summer vacation, high demand period) and refused to waive the cancellation fee. We expected more of a company in the hotel and hospitality industry.

We had lunch today, there was a very nice and helpful gentleman to take our orders, who was the only one speaking english. But we had a very horrible experience when we were about to leave. Our kids accidentally dropped a piece of mussel shell, we picked it up right after. THere was a very horrible lady looked at them angrily while cleaning up our table. She stopped cleaning and kept looking at my kids fiercely and made them scared. We apologized, but she didnt stop, she kept speaking French to us and made other customers looked at us. So I m sure she was saying something terrible to embarrassed us. She is the worst waitress I have ever met . I have no idea why she had to be this rude to the kids even we had apologized for dropping a teeny tiny mussel shell on the floor. This restaurant is definitely not a kid friendly restaurant with the existence of this horrible lady. We had a good start in this restuarant, but she ended our lunch very badly. She ruined our whole experience in this restaurant and drove us to write this negative comment here, her behaviour is unacceptable.

What a cracking place to stay. We (bike trip) needed a place to stay overnight whilst stopping off in Honfleur, This hotel is well located with a supermarket across the road and just a short walk from restaurants, a good breakfast was on offer and the Spa facilities were clean and effective. well worth a visit and the staff are very friendly.

I have stayed here on a few occasions and each time has not disappointed. The hotel is a small walk from the centre of Honfleur which boasts great scenery and great food. The hotel rooms are spacious and comfortable with some having a kitchenette which is well equipped. The staff are very friendly, and if your French is a little rusty, they speak English to ensure you get the best experience. To top things off the hotel has a swimming pool and sauna which is free to access with your stay. For a small additional fee there is also a steam room.

Great location, lots of off road parking and friendly staff. We are spending 3 nights here. We had one of the larger rooms, very well equipped with all you need. Swimming pool is a bonus. Right by the harbour with great views. Close to the restaurants and cafes. Rooms were nicely decorated and well presented. Staff were helpful and spoke good English. A beautifully appointed and clean apartment in a quiet yet central part of town. The bed was incredible (best sleep ever) and the apartment extremely well appointed, so we had everything we needed. We opted for parking in the basement, which was really convenient (do this). The property is very secure and well sound proofed (we didn’t hear any other guests, despite the building being full) with a lovely shared outside space to relax. Words cannot describe how beautiful and charming Honfleur is, so go see it for yourselves and make sure you stay here. We’ll be returning and staying longer next time. On top of all that, the hotel reception staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful during our stay.

I have to agree with everyone here and mention the great location of this Hotel first :). Within a few minutes walk you are right in the center of this lovely town. The Hotel has a big public parking area near that costs extra but the car can be stored away once you have arrived since you can explore everything in this area on foot. The house is old, the walls are not very straight anymore and when walking around the floors creak a bit but all this makes it just very special. the room hat enough space and only the bathroom is a bit tight and should only be used by one person at a time :). But the view from my room was excellent and you can just enjoy watching the tourists walking by. Breakfast was also very pleasant and with a great variety of local specialties. Staff was friendly but I only saw one friendly person at the reception during my stay. No one at the breakfast bar was around but all was prepared well. I can very much recommend this place.

The hotel is in a great location, very close to the inner harbor. Our room had a great view of the outer harbor. It is a bit noisy during the day, but very quiet at night when all the day trippers are gone, and it feels as if you have this wonderful town to yourself. )we were there in April)Having secure parking just down the street was great. However. The room, while very clean, was very small and badly laid out The bathroom was also uncomfortably small. This old place could do with an updating. It was fine for one night, though.

We spent five nights at Le Cheval Blanc Honfleur in October 2022 and wholeheartedly recommend this charming hotel. The location on the harbor is excellent, central for exploring the city, its museums and parks. The room was very clean and quiet, plenty of hot water and water pressure. The staff is friendly and helpful. For us --- a couple - the regular Comfort room with Queen bed was a good size. There were night stands on both sides, and plenty of plugs for charging our devices. These are the things you miss when you travel and they aren't provided 🙂 Will recommend to anyone visiting Honfleur.

The room looked like the picture, but there were some problems. The wifi was working the first night we arrived, but after that, it didn't work anymore. Sadly enough the rooms also get very warm at night and there is no way of cooling them down. There is no AC or a fan. You can not open the windows either, because there are a lot of musquitos and noise. The doors have little to no protection to noise from the hallway. That causes everyone to hear everyone passing by. There was also an issue with the drain of the shower. After only 2 minutes, the entire bathroom would flood. After making the first payment in advance, we were told that the second part would have to be paid when we arrived. This is not how this went, they credited the last part directly to my account without warning. Sadly enough, the owners never responded to my texts eventhough they did read them. I wish they would have responded when we made them aware of the issues.

Very comfy and clean, roomy, brand new quality equipment with excellent bedding. Only drawback is that steep stairs and beams make it practicable only for nimble and not too tall people. Otherwise tuck your head in a bit and you'll enjoy this very charming and quiet lodging right in the heart of lovely Honfleur. Breakfast not included but kettle and tea/coffee machine in the room. Key to be retrieved conveniently at next door restaurant Le Bréart. Good quality/price ratio.

Ideally located in the heart of the old town, next to St. Catherine's Church, the room is unique, charming, quiet, and comfortable with a very good bed. The bathroom is also very nice. You really feel at home. The slightly steep staircase isn't a problem.

Eclipse Room: A very beautiful little room in a historic house, tastefully renovated with high-quality materials. View of St. Catherine's Church! The TV wasn't working, however, the Wi-Fi connection was excellent, so you can watch TV on your mobile phone. I highly recommend it!

Essential Tips for Booking Cheap Hotels in Honfleur

Securing a great deal in Honfleur requires a little strategy and flexibility. The town’s popularity means prices fluctuate wildly depending on the season, local events, and even the day of the week. By understanding how the local market works, you can often stay in a higher-rated property for a fraction of the usual cost.

1. Travel Outside Peak Season

Honfleur is packed from June to August, and prices peak accordingly. To find the cheapest rates, consider visiting in the shoulder seasons of April to May or September to October. The weather is often still pleasant enough for harbour-side dining, but the crowds have thinned and hotels lower their prices to fill rooms.

2. Look Across the Water

Staying directly on the Vieux Bassin is expensive. Consider looking at hotels in the "Sainte-Catherine" district or even across the Pont de Normandie. Areas just outside the ring road often offer significantly lower rates, and you can walk to the centre in 15 to 20 minutes.

3. Prioritize Free Parking

Parking in the historic centre of Honfleur is notoriously difficult and expensive. Many budget hotels on the outskirts offer free private parking. If you are driving, booking a hotel with a free lot can save you upwards of €20 per day, making a slightly more expensive room actually cheaper in the long run.

4. Book Direct for Breakfast Deals

While third-party booking sites are great for comparison, always check the hotel’s official website. Family-run budget hotels often offer "direct booking" discounts or include a continental breakfast for free when you reserve through their own portal.

5. Check for Weekly Rates

If you are planning a longer stay in Normandy, ask about weekly or long-stay rates. Many budget hotels and apart-hotels in Honfleur offer a seventh night free or a reduced nightly rate for stays longer than five days.

6. Beware of Festival Weekends

Honfleur hosts several events, including the Fête des Marins (Sailors’ Festival) and the Russian Film Festival. During these weekends, even the cheapest hotels sell out or triple their prices. Check the local calendar before locking in your dates.

Finding an affordable place to stay in Honfleur allows you to spend your money where it truly matters—on fresh seafood, local cider, and exploring the cobbled lanes. By staying just a few minutes outside the main tourist hub, you gain a more authentic, peaceful experience of Norman life.

With a little planning and the right choice from our list, you can enjoy the magic of this Impressionist haven without the luxury price tag. Your wallet will thank you, and you will still have unforgettable views of the Seine estuary just a short stroll away.
