12 Best Hotels in Honfleur

Finding the right place to stay in Honfleur is less about securing a room and more about curating an experience. This enchanting harbor town in Normandy, with its slate-fronted houses and bobbing fishing boats, has inspired artists for centuries, and the right accommodation allows you to live inside that painting, if only for a few days.

The town is compact, but the atmosphere shifts dramatically from the bustling Vieux Bassin to the quieter, cobbled lanes of the Enclos and the leafy outskirts near the Côte de Grâce. Whether you are here for a romantic weekend, a family holiday, or a deep dive into French maritime history, your choice of hotel will define your trip.

For travelers seeking luxury, Honfleur offers historic boutique properties that blend 17th-century architecture with modern spa facilities. For those on a tighter budget, there are charming, family-run inns and contemporary hotels just a short walk from the center that offer exceptional value without sacrificing comfort.

Parking is a significant consideration here, as the medieval streets are narrow and largely pedestrianized. Many of the best hotels offer private parking or are situated close to the public lots, making them convenient bases for exploring not just Honfleur, but also the wider Pays d’Auge and the D-Day beaches.

Below, we have curated a list of the finest places to stay, ranging from iconic five-star residences to hidden gems. Each property has been selected for its distinct character, service quality, and ability to enhance your visit to this unique corner of France.

The staff were extremely helpful. Due to my wife's mobility issues they went over and above to accommodate our needs. The location of the hotel is right in the centre of Honfleur, making it ideally situated for us to explore the town. Our room had everything that we needed to make our stay enjoyable. There was ample choice for breakfast and the hotel staff were always so friendly. We would definitely recommend Le Dauphin and if we returned to Honfleur (which is a beautiful place to visit), we would have no hesitation in staying there again.

Lovely old hotel right in the middle of town. Very helpful staff and secure storage for bicycles. It was a little difficult to get to the hotel as the town centre was blocked off due to building works. I really hope this doesn't affect the business. We would definitely stay here again.

We were really disappointed with our visit. We were told a few days before that some roads were closed around the hotel and how to access the hotel but we weren't warned how bad it was. It was basically a construction site in front of the hotel and very difficult to get to. We had also paid for a room with a view of the square, which was just a view of a building site. I understand that the situation was out of your control but a room discount or a bottle of wine or some small token would have been nice. When we mentioned this to staff they seemed unconcerned. The hotel is also quite dated, lots of chipped paint, old carpets and our shower doors didn't close properly. All in all quite a disappointing experience and we won't be returning.

Lovely location, but not such a good experience. We had a room in the attic, which we were called about a few days before arriving: would it be a problem to climb this much stairs? That wasn’t the problem. Had they only told us about the unbearable heat in the room… It was known at that time a heatwave was coming and surely they knew it would be very hot in the room, as the receptionist afterwards told us they sometimes had to shut down and cancel these rooms because of unhealthy warming up of the top floors. No ventilator in the room, had to ask for one and take it upstairs ourselves. After the first night we asked for a solution, alas: no other rooms available so the very friendly receptionist got us two more ventilators. Unfortunately that didn’t do much since the room temperature at night stayed 33 degrees Celsius. It was cooler in the staircase. Room windows couldn’t be opened because of the noise of renovation works (and their ventilation machines working all night) across the street. Another factor that didn’t help: the plastic sheet on the bed (logically there for hygienic reasons) wasn’t put there properly after making the bed. In the middle of the night we woke up laying on a plastic layer, adding on the uncomfortable feeling we already had from the sauna-like bedroom. At checking out the receptionist took in our complaints, apologized and said she would inform management and ask for some sort of compensation. Never heard back unfortunately.

A hidden gem. Right in the center of Honfleur the 5 of us stayed in their town house (La Maison de Louise). Absolutely perfect. Everything is in the description but there is also a private patio for late summer dinner, privately yet outside. Beds are great, rooms are spacious each with an ensuite. Very close to everything and there is a free parking nearby so you don't have to worry about the car. We took the breakfast option. There is everything you want and need for a reasonable price.

Clean And comfortable. Good location but no parking. Room small but has everything that is needed. Nice shower.

Good location plenty of parking. But ibis styles is more to city centre (only 150 meters)

Hotel in process of renovation. We were lucky to have a newly renovated room, it was spotless including the bathroom. Bed was comfortable and view over the bridge was nice. Staff very pleasant and excellent breakfast with plentiful selection of drinks was included in the rate. the lift could be improved, it is a bit dodgy. Also there was no shower foot towel which made the floor wet. Free parking available 100m away I recommended staying here, excellent.

My stay was very disappointing, especially as an Accor Gold member. I had specifically requested a larger room, but was instead given what I was told was the largest room available, which felt extremely small and had two beds. To make matters worse, it was the very first room on the ground floor right next to the parking entrance, meaning anyone coming in or out had a direct view into the room. As I was travelling with an infant, this felt particularly uncomfortable and unsuitable. Because of this, I decided to check out the next day, cutting my two-night stay down to one night. At checkout, I was informed that the second night would be refunded, which seemed reasonable and standard practice. However, I later received an email saying that no refund would be provided. Service was also below expectations. Staff struggled to communicate in English and did not seem well informed about policies or procedures. There was also little recognition of my Accor status, with no upgrade or any noticeable benefits. Overall, the experience felt closer to a budget hostel stay than a hotel experience. I ended up wasting 12,000 points on a two-night booking that I only used for one night, and then had to spend more money on another hotel because this property was simply too uncomfortable to continue staying in. I would not recommend this hotel for families, especially those travelling with young children
AirJay★☆☆☆☆
I wish I could be more positive. We came here with high expectations due to its rating but especially the reception was very disappointing. We always want cold rooms and quiet (we mentioned that booking) And to our surprise the room was in the sun and next to the construction. Of all the places you can choose you choose the rooms 100% against our wishes. Also the airconditioning can’t be set lower than 21 and also reception can’t override this they say. They could in the past but not anymore. When we mentioned that this is an issue for us and that we were staying there at the same time of our wedding anniversary they just said they can’t and won’t do anything for us. The anniversary was also mentioned at time of booking and you can argue that the other items for the rooms are just a preference, doing just a small thing for an anniversary after a rough start would have been minimum. Just a card or something acknowledging that fact. But I guess this is even too much of a challenge for guest hospitality capabilities. We asked for the manager but not available at the time and we also guess coming back to us later is also to big of a reach in capabilities of this team. Such a waist while these small things make a difference. I travel a lot for my work but this is one of the worst I have ever encountered.
Gary Whinnett★★★★☆
Everything was good. Bed comfortable. Good buffet breakfast. Quiet. Heaps of safe parking. Only issue was that the air-conditioning had been turned off for winter and our room got extremely hot at 2 am because we didn't know. When we asked they told us to just open a window. We think it's great that they turn off the air-conditioning, better for the environment but put a note in the room that a) the windows are able to be opened and b) it's OK to do that. Also it's about a 20 minute walk into the centre, not 5 minutes as stated in the hotel info.
John Turrner★★★★★
This IBIS is a really nice hotel which has been updated with a modern, fresh decor. There is lots of parking, including EV charging points. Access is via a steep set of steps which, at the time, were wet and potentially slippy. The welcome was efficient, warm and friendly. Our room was lovely and spacious and very comfortable. The usual IBIS shower room 'pod' was bright and fully functional. One minor irritation is that the soap dispensers were set too high on the wall that my wife at 5' 2" could not keep her hand horizontal underneath to catch the soap so it trickled down her palm and wrist. The breakfast area was bright and airy and a good choice of food was available. The hotel is located about a 10 to 15 minute walk into the centre of Honfleur, so is well positioned. However, we had to cross two carriageways and a grassy, wide central reservation (thankfully it wasn't wet) to get to a pavement so perhaps not ideal if you have mobility issues. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic location within easy walking distance of the harbour. Ample secure parking to rear which was ideal for our group of scooters. Great rooms, clean and ample size

If you are going in summer make sure to book a room with air conditioning! I didn’t pay attention and booked standard. Luckily was able to upgrade the first night to a room with a/c. It was a really nice room. The second night we moved to a standard room as they were sold out of upgraded rooms. The standard rooms are a little “worn”. There wasn’t even a fan in the standard room to move air. Sleeping was difficult. The front desk staff are so nice and helpful. They stored our luggage when we arrived before rooms ready and had them delivered to our rooms later in the day. The breakfast is quite good - nice selection of breads, pastries, hot items, chees and meats. The location is absolutely perfect.

After a very unfortunate change in literary we finally settled on booking this hotel in a spur of the moment choice. Being from the United States with only rudimentary English there was some concern about if this was the right choice for us. It was. Opon arrival fairly late we were greeted with an exceptionally competent and courteous staff which quickly got our room sorted in what would be our home for the next 5 days. This hotel has an old school charm that is hard to find with some winding stairways and deep rich red walls. Entering the room we immediately loved the layout and also the wooden furnishings all around the room. I would recommend this place to lovers of old school charm, young couples, and people that want to disappear for a few days.

Okay so let start with location - yeah it’s good, in the center…(the last positive bit of feedback) Service - it’s hard to describe how poor the level of service was, minimal efforts all around - would have given half a star if I could.. in other Radissons I have stopped at the service is incredible, certainly training needed here…. Okay the room 1. I actually liked the decor, it fitted well with the surrounding area 2. Tv didn’t work, nor did the phone to ask about this to staff (we were outside of the hotel on a different site so was incredible Loud of a side street) 3. It was on a side street so bring headphones to drown out the sound 4. It’s summer, no air con, no fans, no fridge 5. Taps leaking onto the floor in the rooms 6. Dangerous hazards across the rooms, splintering doors, uneven flooring Overall forget this places is a hotel, it’s not….. so don’t picture it…, I would say this place is a pretty poor Airbnb at best. We have certainly been hustled and I want to save everyone else 300+ for this terrible establishment
Michael Mayer★★★☆☆
Hotel looks charming on the outside but feels shabby on the inside. Rooms are furnished in a twee fashion with junk furniture and contain shabby carpets. All areas including the room smell strongly of air freshener which suggests a problem with damp or just uncleanliness. It was so strong that even with the windows open all day it still smelled of it. Staff weren’t interested and remarked that they liked the smell so that was that. They did offer a room swap but all the rooms smelled the same. It’s a shame. The place needs a lot of money spending on it to make the insider as glorious as the outside. However I must say that the room was pretty cheap so some might enjoy it especially if you have no sense of smell. The location in front of the cathedral cannot be beaten.
Gary Miller★★★★☆
We had a room in the Annexe about 200m from the hotel. The room was a good size with dual aspect, a big bed, twin sinks and a good walk in shower. Located in a quiet side street meant very little noise. Only grumble was Breakfast @ €26pp. Both can eat in town for that. Parking is near the harbour so a bit of a trek to the annexe and means hills.

We couldn't fault our stay at the Mercure in Honfleur. We chose the Mercure as having stayed in a couple of Mercure Hotels in the past, we knew it was going to be a good hotel and it didn't disappoint. It was located just a very short walk away from the centre of town. We stayed in a privilege room for 5 nights and we couldn't fault it, a lovely clean room with a comfortable superking bed. The hotel looks like it's recently had a refurbishment inside as everything looked fresh and clean and it has been beautifully done throughout. Loved the vases of fresh flowers near the bar. Breakfast was very good, lots of variety and always being replenished. All of the staff were really friendly, courteous and approachable. We would definitely stay at the Mercure again if we return to Honfleur.

Well located just a couple of hundred m away from everything you want to see. Reasonably priced parking at $15 per night at the back of the hotel in a secure gated compound. Staff were very helpful and friendly, not much to complain about really.

A nice hotel in a great location to see Honfleur, a short walk from all the restaurants, bars, shops and sights - but far enough away to be tranquil. Also a large, easily accessible car park. I left a valuable item in the hotel, and the staff have gone out of their way to return it to me - I can't praise the service enough.

Right by the harbour with great views. Close to the restaurants and cafes. Rooms were nicely decorated and well presented. Staff were helpful and spoke good English. There is public parking a short walk away, or they may let you use the hotel carpark which is a ten minute walk, but more secure for motorbikes.
James Cunningham★★★★★
A beautifully appointed and clean apartment in a quiet yet central part of town. The bed was incredible (best sleep ever) and the apartment extremely well appointed, so we had everything we needed. We opted for parking in the basement, which was really convenient (do this). The property is very secure and well sound proofed (we didn’t hear any other guests, despite the building being full) with a lovely shared outside space to relax. Words cannot describe how beautiful and charming Honfleur is, so go see it for yourselves and make sure you stay here. We’ll be returning and staying longer next time. On top of all that, the hotel reception staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful during our stay.

I have to agree with everyone here and mention the great location of this Hotel first :). Within a few minutes walk you are right in the center of this lovely town. The Hotel has a big public parking area near that costs extra but the car can be stored away once you have arrived since you can explore everything in this area on foot. The house is old, the walls are not very straight anymore and when walking around the floors creak a bit but all this makes it just very special. the room hat enough space and only the bathroom is a bit tight and should only be used by one person at a time :). But the view from my room was excellent and you can just enjoy watching the tourists walking by. Breakfast was also very pleasant and with a great variety of local specialties. Staff was friendly but I only saw one friendly person at the reception during my stay. No one at the breakfast bar was around but all was prepared well. I can very much recommend this place.
Melinda Neal★★★★☆
The hotel is in a great location, very close to the inner harbor. Our room had a great view of the outer harbor. It is a bit noisy during the day, but very quiet at night when all the day trippers are gone, and it feels as if you have this wonderful town to yourself. )we were there in April)Having secure parking just down the street was great. However. The room, while very clean, was very small and badly laid out The bathroom was also uncomfortably small. This old place could do with an updating. It was fine for one night, though.
Jeanne Keller★★★★★
We spent five nights at Le Cheval Blanc Honfleur in October 2022 and wholeheartedly recommend this charming hotel. The location on the harbor is excellent, central for exploring the city, its museums and parks. The room was very clean and quiet, plenty of hot water and water pressure. The staff is friendly and helpful. For us --- a couple - the regular Comfort room with Queen bed was a good size. There were night stands on both sides, and plenty of plugs for charging our devices. These are the things you miss when you travel and they aren't provided 🙂 Will recommend to anyone visiting Honfleur.

I like Ibis Style hotels and they’re always my first choice when I’m in France. This hotel is good. Clean and bright, in a good location with helpful staff. Excellent quality products for breakfast is a big plus for me. I only wish that Ibis Style hotels in the UK had such excellent breakfast options! I stayed here for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it.

A clean hotel which is well located at the heart of the town, with all the advantages of that. Our room was absolutely fine and the breakfast was good too - but nothing special. Parking (paid) is available in front of the hotel but spaces are limited, so you need to be lucky or quick. And a big carpark is available across the road. Spent two nights here.
nigel moss★★★★☆
The decor is interesting in a not-quite-sure-thats-a-positive kind of way but otherwise it's an Ibis so all as you'd expect (definitely a positive) in terms of comfort and value for money. Definitely recommend it. Honfleur is fabulous and the hotel couldn't be more central.
Mei Mei★☆☆☆☆
The rooms are exactly what you'd expect from an Ibis hotel in Europe. Lighting could be improve a bit but overall nothing to complain about. I was cold at first and it took a while to bring the room to a normal temperature. It is pretty calm. The door though was a nightmare, and I could hear the neighbors from the other rooms struggling to open theirs too. The card system is obviously old and the doors have a hard time opening on the 1st trial, or even the second, or third. I also do not understand why they can't add a kettle in each room. That is beyond me honestly. It feels cheap. I put the DND sign early in the morning and changed it to "please make the room" in the late morning... and for 2 days, the staff didn't do the room. It is a first! I am used to staying in hotels from Accor. And it was the first and only time there was no mention whatsoever of - the welcome drink (once again it feels really cheap, like "hope the client forgets so we can save 3 bucks") - any upgrades - no message in the room, no welcome gift, not even a card. And honestly this was really bad. Especially when you are dealing with customers who can compare between a large array of properties in France and abroad - and even more so when you consider the price point of this property vs category. Now let's get to the ugly part: - The breakfast is one of the worst. - There is zero warm food, except for hard boiled eggs. - There is no explanation of what is contained in the food (what type of cold cuts it is, like good luck finding if it is pork or chicken). - There is nothing to eat for someone that doesn't want to get a glucose spike before 8 am. - The fact that they cannot use individual portioning while there is a flu warning and disposition around the country is also very strange. And please don't give me that BS about sustainability, this has nothing to do with saving the planet! Am I supposed to eat that slice of bread people have been coughing on for the past 5 minutes??? Or am I supposed to get some almond milk from the same bottle that has been opened all week? Honestly if the breakfast wasn't included I wouldn't pay for it. This is hardly breakfast and being able to choose between 3 options doesn't make it a "buffet" Once again it feels the team/owner is cheap. This is a very bad strategy in the long run, especially for people who actually spend on hotels, travel a lot, and therefore are asked about which place they recommend.
Dom Smith★★★★★
The hotel is a pretty standard IBIS Style place – it is not luxury but there is everything you need here for a basic stay. The room is comfortable with climate control, thick curtains, a standard bathroom and a nice bed. The breakfast was a buffet affair with a good selection of bread and croissants etc, yoghurt and cold meat and cheese. There is a free coffee machine available all day and also a small bar. There is plenty of parking available, but some carparks are cheaper than others so make sure you know the price before you park. The hotel is a minutes’ walk from the harbor which is beautiful to look at and surrounded by numerous restaurants. For a standard bar you should try Maddie’s, just around the corner (Happy Hour 19-21 every day!) The staff at this IBIS were fantastic, the person who checked us in worked quickly and efficiently. He was helpful, friendly, and enjoyable to chat with (in English, French, Spanish and Philippine.) Hon fleur is a beautiful town which is worth visiting for any reason but we used it as a base for a visit to the Normandy beaches and I would happily stay at this hotel again if we repeat the trip in the future.

An incompetent young man at the reception (and yes, our French is good enough to understand Putain after a discussion about the non functioning AC). We entered the room at 28 degrees, the thermostat was set at 20, but the compressor wasn't kicking in and no help was given by the person who is supposed to greet guests with a smile. Why this guy is filling that position..... who knows. But besides that the hotel is worn out and definitely not worth spending even a single night there. We sadly stayed a few days, our room was never serviced and we had to even bring out our trash. Next time we'll book an Airbnb again! Two stars for location: across an Aldi!

We have just had a very pleasant three-night stay at the Hotel Kyriad near Honfleur. Before the holiday, I was a bit concerned that it was outside the main town, but we needed guaranteed parking so it seemed the best choice. I'm very glad we chose this hotel. First of all, the walk to the harbour area was very pleasant, and it was actually nice to stretch the legs after dinner with a short walk back to the hotel (about 25 mins). The area was quiet and pleasant as well, so no complaints about location. The room was clean and comfortable with very efficient and quiet air-conditioning. My partner is a light sleeper but we heard no noise during the night, so that was great too. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was amazing! Absolutely loads of choice, including a local rice pudding dish - I couldn't believe I was getting the opportunity to have rice pudding for breakfast every day! Only one tiny thing I would change, and that is the coffee from an automatic machine, but this seems to be very standard in hotels these days. Overall, a fabulous place to stay. Highly recommended.

We reserved two rooms on August 16th and upon the checkout found out none of air conditioners worked in both rooms. Mind you this is mid August and it was very hot. Called the front deck and the manager checked air conditioners, confirmed they don't work and said it works in other rooms , but nothing he can do for our rooms... Really, did not offer to move to air conditioned rooms or offered a refund, just like it's supposed to be ? The reviews are glowing, hence expected an excellent service, the reality is far from the online reviews.

We spent two nights in Honfleur and spent both at this location. We highly recommend Hotel Monet! The rooms are a very nice size, they are clean and modern. The bathroom was clean and had a full sized tub with a stand-up shower. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel felt safe and well looked after by the staff. The owner and his wife are who we met while staying here and they were such friendly people. I have a gluten allergy so they helped us with selecting restaurants. The recommendations were perfect. The breakfast they provide (for a small fee) is amazing - so much variety and fresh! We hope to visit Honfleur again and we would definitely stay here again too.

We had the pleasure of staying four nights at L’Invitation au Voyage, and it was a delight from start to finish. It’s clear that the staff feel good about working here. Every interaction we had was warm and accommodating. The hotel is also perfectly situated — close to all the restaurants and attractions of le Vieux Bassin, but it still manages to be peaceful at night. We look forward to returning.

Terrible experience. I had already paid for my stay through Booking.com, but at check-out the hotel told me they had not received the payment and that I had to pay for the accommodation again. I told them that I had already paid through Booking.com, but they disputed this and insisted that I pay a second time. I found myself in a very uncomfortable situation: I felt that if I did not pay again, I would not be allowed to leave the hotel. So I paid again, even though I had already paid for the same stay through Booking.com. Whatever problem existed between the hotel and Booking.com should have been resolved between them, not pushed onto the guest at check-out. Being in a foreign country and feeling pressured to pay twice for the same accommodation was extremely stressful and unacceptable. Very disappointing experience.

Gem of a hotel in Honfleur! Rest and rejuvenate at L'Invitation au Voyage, an outstanding hotel in the center of old town Honfleur. Located close to harbor and parking for only 6€/24 hours, L'Invitation provides a great restaurant, comfortable and well-appointed rooms, a staff that exemplifies the highest levels of service, and a relaxed atmosphere of understated sophistication. The bathroom in our room was well-lit and furnished with a large, lit mirror over the sink and a heated towel. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the bed linens felt to be high quality. Thoughtful touches in the room included bedside adjustable wall sconces and an underlit clothes rod in the closet (brilliant idea!). The decor and furnishings of the hotel are stylish and attractive, and the common areas are bright and well-lit. Outdoor patios with seating both in the front and back of the hotel, in addition to cozy circles of comfortable chairs inside, provide great spaces for guests to relax. No review would be complete without mentioning the team members who made our stay that much more enjoyable. Their cheery demeanor, patience and effective assistance were so appreciated! Kudos to Lena and Alice at the front desk and Cyril in the restaurant for their exemplary customer service. My wife and I unhesitatingly highly recommend L'Invitation to travelers exploring this scenic and beautiful area of France.

One of our favorite hotels in France! The location is amazing. The building spaces including lounge, room and breakfast area were a great synthesis of old rustic with clean contemporary. Breakfast was great! The entire staff was exceptional. Very friendly, warm and helpful.

Very clean and spacious room. Good breakfast but I wish there were a couple more savory options. Location in the middle of town so plenty of restaurants with a short walk. They advised where to park beforehand at public parking which was around a 5 minute walk. View on the patio was very nice. Great air conditioning which is hard to find in France! The superior room was expensive for what is offered (they were out of the basic), but overall it was a great stay.

The hotel is right in the heart of the old city in Honfleur, near to lots of shops and restaurants. The room was gorgeous and very comfortable with a great bathtub. The hotel is so beautifully decorated. I really appreciated that they ask for your breakfast order the night before and have it ready for you in the morning. An unforgettably lovely experience and I would recommend this place to everyone!

This hotel is such a quaint little gem. The rooms were cozy, well furnished, and clean. We opted for breakfast at the hotel and the pastries were excellent. I give this place 5 stars, and hope to return in the future.

A Gem right across from the water. What a great little find! This motel is right in the middle of everything, making it easy to explore. Despite the central location, it still feels welcoming and relaxed. The staff were outstanding—super helpful, genuinely friendly, and always ready with local tips that made our stay even better. It felt like they truly cared about making guests comfortable. Our room was cozy and inviting, with thoughtful touches that made it feel more personal than your average motel. The bed was comfortable, and the space had a warm charm that made it easy to unwind after a busy day exploring. We especially appreciated the convenience: parking was simple, check-in was smooth, and everything worked exactly as it should. It’s the kind of place that makes travel feel effortless. Overall, this motel combines location, comfort, and hospitality in a way that’s hard to beat. A perfect choice for anyone wanting both convenience and a welcoming atmosphere. --- Would you like me to make this one feel more casual and fun (like you’re chatting with friends) or more polished and professional (like for TripAdvisor or Google reviews)?

Small hotel in the middle of the city. Fantastic and personal service. Loved the honest bar concept.

Stay away from the hotel café! When we paid the bill for the coffee, the waiter tried to rip us off by shortchanging us by €10. When we pointed it out, he claimed he had intended to return the rest, then went to the register and handed it over. I don't know his name—he was a smiling Black guy. Also, a cappuccino cost €6—a very high price.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. When my father accidentally left his jacket in the room, the hotel quickly arranged its return, which arrived safely. The service and care were exceptional. We highly recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again!

I loved the character of this hotel and overall feel of our stay here! The rooms are ADORABLE and have so much personality. We booked two rooms under one of the sets of stairs and personally had no issues with noise from people traversing up and down to get to their upper rooms. The reception service is superb and the location is perfect in every way; across the street from a grocery store and self serve washer & dryer (next to the grocer), down the road from a pharmacy and a couple of restaurants, and roughly a ten minute walk from the downtown area where the port and rest of the restaurants and shops are! Parking is limited inside the gate, but overnight parking nearby (either out front or down the way) from 8pm to 8am is free. My only concerns worth mentioning were 2 things: ▪︎ the rooms had heaters, but no air con (not atypical for France. However, some hotels fit mini ones to their rooms and other travelers might want to be aware). Our party of four had mixed experiences with this. 2/4 felt warm with two people sleeping in the rooms without a window open even with 8-10°C (46-50°F) temperatures outside. Wearing lighter clothing helped a lot for the 2nd night. ▪︎ the lights in the courtyard are motion activated, which is nice when walking to your room at night and the individual lights in front of the doors come on. However, it's not quite as nice when the flood lights are also activated at the same time and the curtains aren't light blocking 😅 Over all, such a great experience and would love to come again!

Very well located for the price. The rooms were very comfortable and cozy with very large bathrooms. We did not include breakfast but the staff was very friendly and helpful. We do not speak French but had no communication issues. There is parking on site for a reasonable fee but there is also a free parking lot available nearby

Very cute place, close to centre but far enough away to be quieter. Very helpful and friendly staff

Essential Tips for Choosing Your Honfleur Hotel

Selecting the right base requires a bit of local knowledge, as the geography of Honfleur can greatly impact your daily itinerary. To help you avoid common pitfalls and maximize your enjoyment, consider the following practical advice before finalizing your reservation.

Book well in advance for summer and weekends. Honfleur is a favorite escape for Parisians, meaning the town fills up quickly from May through September, and nearly every weekend in the spring. Waiting until the last minute often means settling for properties far from the center or paying a premium for the few remaining rooms.

Prioritize on-site parking. If you are arriving by car, do not underestimate the challenge of parking in the historic center. The narrow streets are often restricted to local traffic, and public lots can fill up by mid-morning. A hotel with a private courtyard or dedicated parking will save you significant stress and time.

Decide between harbor views and quiet nights. Rooms overlooking the Vieux Bassin offer stunning, postcard-perfect views, but they come with the noise of restaurant terraces and late-night strollers. If you are a light sleeper, opt for a room facing an interior courtyard or a hotel located one or two streets back from the water.

Check for air conditioning. Because of the historic nature of many buildings, not all hotels are equipped with air conditioning. While the coastal breeze is usually pleasant, summer heatwaves are becoming more common in Normandy. If you are traveling in July or August, confirm that your room has climate control.

Embrace the outskirts for value. Staying just outside the historic center, for example near the Naturospace or up toward the Côte de Grâce, often provides better rates, larger rooms, and easier parking. The walk into the heart of the harbor is usually no more than ten to fifteen minutes.

Look for breakfast inclusivity. While the harbor is lined with cafés, hotel breakfasts in France can be expensive. Some of the best boutique hotels include a high-quality, locally sourced breakfast in their rates, which is often a better deal than paying à la carte at a tourist-heavy brasserie.

Read recent reviews regarding accessibility. Many of Honfleur’s most charming hotels are housed in centuries-old buildings without elevators. If mobility is a concern, verify that the property has ground-floor rooms or elevator access, as climbing narrow spiral staircases with luggage can be difficult.

Your time in Honfleur should be spent savoring fresh seafood, watching the light change over the estuary, and wandering through the art galleries, not worrying about logistics. By choosing a hotel that aligns with your travel style—whether that means historic grandeur or modern minimalism—you set the stage for a truly memorable stay.

As the sun sets and the harbor lights begin to twinkle on the water, having a comfortable, well-located retreat to return to makes all the difference. Take your time to review the options above, consider what matters most for your trip, and prepare to fall in love with one of France’s most beautiful port towns.
