Cadaqués does not feel like the rest of the Costa Brava. Whitewashed cubes, slate roofs, and a deep blue bay create a setting that has pulled in artists, writers, and travelers for more than a century. Unlike larger Catalan resorts, this village has kept its fishing-town soul, its narrow lanes, and its slow, salty rhythm.
Staying in the right boutique hotel changes how you experience the town. You might wake up to light bouncing off the water, walk to breakfast through a garden of olive trees, or sleep inside a former fisherman’s house that still smells faintly of cedar and sea air. The best properties here feel personal, not corporate.
Because Cadaqués sits slightly off the main coastal routes, it rewards travelers who stay longer than a day trip. Once the tour buses leave, the village softens. Cats nap on warm stone steps, restaurant terraces glow under string lights, and the sound of the water returns to the harbor.
Boutique accommodation in Cadaqués tends to fall into a few clear styles. Some hotels are minimalist and gallery-like, with white walls and carefully chosen art. Others lean rustic-chic, with exposed stone, linen curtains, and terraces hidden behind bougainvillea. A third group occupies historic buildings, often with direct views of the bay or the church of Santa Maria.
Location matters more here than in a big city. A room near the waterfront puts you close to the evening promenade, but a hillside hotel often rewards you with silence and the best sunrise views over the Mediterranean. Some of the most memorable stays are a short walk from the center, up winding paths that open onto the sea.
Price, parking, and accessibility vary widely. A few boutique hotels offer private parking, which is rare and valuable in Cadaqués. Others are reachable only on foot through the old town, which adds charm but requires planning with luggage. Knowing what you value most will help you choose the right base.
Below is a curated selection of the most distinctive boutique hotels in Cadaqués, chosen for their design, location, service, and sense of place. Each one offers something a little different, from waterfront romance to quiet garden seclusion.

This is a secret gem of Cadaqués! This location is not only beautiful but a short walk to town, restaurants, beach, shops, and more. This place was beyond perfect. The staff were kind and more than helpful. The rooms and common areas were clean, the room we had was perfect (we got one with a private balcony with a view which was spectacular), and we had a wonderful breakfast each morning. The surrounding area was quiet, the view was incredible (cannot say this enough!), and the pool was amazing. We were able to order some small bites and wine while we sat by the pool, another night we ordered a bottle of wine to have on our balcony (thank you again for that!), and the entire time being there was so peaceful. I would highly recommend staying here, especially if you're a couple wanting a beautiful getaway. The price was well worth it! Thank you to the staff and hotel for such a wonderful stay!

Very charming little hotel in Cadaques. Great breakfast, smart rooms, and service was fantastic. It's a bit tricky to get to by car and I HIGHLY recommend driving the smallest car you're comfortable driving if you do drive. Lots of very narrow streets but we did it in an SUV. Great hotel. We'll be back.

Lovely hotel with views of the sea. They were accommodating enough to let us check in early (luckily a room was ready early!) so we could enjoy a quick rest before visiting the town.
The breakfasts provided included lots of options and it was all quite yummy. Fresh fruits and yogurt, ham and cheeses, coffee and tea, orange juice, and much more.
The gentleman who checked us out was also quite friendly and helpful. He even flagged us down a couple of hours after we checked out and were on our way to the parking lot to make sure we left with a couple of shirts left behind in the closet. Thank you all for the incredible service and care!

It felt like honeymoon! The view was spectacular and service was excellent
We had a welcome surprises from hotel with the perfect vacation vibe
We had a superior room - it worth every euro. The patio with table was a great stop after mountain serpentines. And woke up with that view - that was amazing feeling
And once nuance that I would recommend to have in mind: The toilet is not isolated from bedroom 😅.

Best boutique hotel we have stayed in so far. Beautiful rooms! We had a clear view of the cathedral, the old town and the sea from our balcony. They go above and beyond to make sure your stay is pleasant. I have attached a panoramic view from our balcony.

Fantastic hotel in a great location. We loved the room. Peaceful and close to seafront and a short walk to the car park.
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Great location. Beautiful rooms. The only disappointment was the lack of reception and staff members. We had to wait for one hour as there were problems with the automatic check in system.

We ended up filing a complaint with the Consumer Information Office (OMIC) and the Catalan Government (Generalitat).
We stayed at the Es Blau Hotel Boutique in Cadaqués. When we arrived at check-in time (4:00 PM), the room wasn't clean and we had to wait. Something had happened with a seagull, and we were told it had happened two days earlier as well.
At 7:00 PM, the maintenance service came because the water on the terrace was dirty and smelled bad. They treated the water, and we couldn't swim until late afternoon.
The next day, we woke up to find seagulls in the water. We notified them and left so they could remove it. It was a chick and couldn't get out.
At 7:00 PM, we returned and the water was dirty again. The hotel staff proceeded to empty it with buckets, walking through our room for over an hour and a half, violating our privacy. The staff were pleasant and understanding (to be fair).
When we requested the official complaint form via WhatsApp, the hotel provided us with an unofficial internal document—a photocopy.
After insisting that we wanted the official form, the establishment responded dismissively and proceeded to block our phone number, leaving us completely cut off in a digital hotel with no physical reception and breaking their written promise to refund our money.
Furthermore, at check-out in the morning, there was no one there to even stamp the photocopies.
The owners blocked our phone, and the hotel's other phone number stopped answering our messages.
The worst treatment we've ever received and a complete waste of time and money on this trip!!
Read the reviews before going to this hotel (we didn't, and we ended up with a very bad experience).

The experience was very good. There is one aspect I would like to highlight, without in any way detracting from the room I was assigned. I was notified that I had been assigned a room with a small pool. However, after checking the website, I believe there was an error in the notification, as we were assigned a junior suite, and the description in the email I received corresponded to the Esblau suite.

One night was more than enough. Aside from its central location in Cadaqués, the hotel leaves much to be desired. Upon arrival, we noticed several problems: our television had been removed without warning and left in the common areas, the shower door only opened halfway, the sheets were stained, and the walls were badly damaged. Far too expensive for what it is.

Cadaquéz is small so location will always be good. However this was followed up with brilliant friendly service, breakfast was divine and we have taken up to copy it at home as well. Room was small and well laid out with good mattress, also good water pressure in the shower, which is one thing that I always look for. There were good instructions on where to store the vehicle and we got a lift with our bags as well. Highly recommended.

Can’t say enough good things about this hotel. Lovely, helpful staff, clean and modern rooms, free breakfast with local baked goods and a warm atmosphere. Central without being loud in a scenic location. Draw the blackout curtains or wake up with a gorgeous view of the mountains.

Casa Nereta was such a magical, special experience. Our extra large balcony was the perfect spot to siesta after a day at the beach. I loved that the property was artful and contemporary but with the soul of a residence. James pointed us in the right direction : We loved strolling through the town, touring Dali's house and popping into super tasty the bars and restaurants. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious too. I loved this hotel and will definitely be back.

I really wanted to love this hotel. From the photography and vibe on the website, I expected a warm, welcoming boutique experience. Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing.
For the price point, the amenities are minimal, which we knew going in, but there was no effort to communicate what was available. We were never informed of yoga classes, dinners, or other events from the front desk or at check-in; the only way to find out was via Instagram, and by the time posts went up, we’d already missed them.
I usually don’t mind a pared-back property, in fact, I love boutique hotels that focus on charm and hospitality over bells and whistles, but here, the service was strikingly unfriendly. For example, nowhere on the website or in our confirmation emails did it mention that there’s no parking onsite, which is important to know given how difficult parking is in the area but we reached out prior and figured it out. When we arrived early, hoping to drop our bags before check-in and walk into town, we had to walk uphill with all our luggage, only to be greeted with, “You can’t check in until 3 p.m.” We said we understood and just wanted to store our bags, but the receptionist simply repeated, “You can’t check in.” It set the tone for the rest of our stay.
Hospitality continued to be lacking: I sat in the lobby/restaurant area for nearly two hours one afternoon without anyone offering a menu or even asking if I’d like something to drink. It felt awkward as I kept trying to get someone’s attention while also trying to relax…Housekeeping was good the first night, but the next two nights, they forgot to replenish our water (critical in the heat) and didn’t sweep the floors.
Overall, the property itself is pretty, but the service felt cold and disinterested. Many other guests we spoke with shared similar frustrations, which created a generally unhappy atmosphere. The focus seemed more on private events and hosting influencers than on caring for paying guests. Unless the service improves dramatically, it’s hard to recommend this as the warm, boutique experience it appears to be online.

I should’ve have read the reviews and done my research.
€250+ per night for a bang average hotel.
Yes, the lounge and terrace area will look great on Instagram, but it’s not worth staying there just for that.
No parking
No great location
No amenities or facilities
No soundproofed rooms
Staff were very friendly, but a 5min interaction when you arrive doesn’t compensate for the rest.
The cherry on the cake was the NYE dinner they hosted (€95 per person) which was the worst meal in my life.
AVOID AT ALL COST.

This hotel is a must and my only designation going forward when I come to Cadaques. The staff was phenomenal and really helpful and most importantly knew when to give you your personal space. It has a lot of history. Now the food good and everything we needed before we left for the day. OH! i almost forgot, the wine selection is top notch. Def, worth every penny.
Lory Hansen★★★★★
This hidden gem is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. Casa Nereta has a very hip, Californian - Mallorca style and vibe which offer wellness retreats, wine tastings and yoga on their specially prepared yoga deck. And… pet friendly 🐾
Its location, a 5 min walk from the beach, perched on top of the hillside above the sea gives you the tranquility that the beach front does not.
Don’t let its laid back demeanor fool you. Everything here is ‘TOP’ from the quality of their products to the service they offer. And don’t miss out on the new Bistro Nereta. Well worth the visit even if you are just in town for the day.
Thank you Nereta Team. 💕🐦⬛

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Blaumar in Cadaqués. What a gorgeous little sanctuary! Surrounded by olive trees, with a beautiful pool and a lovely terrace perfect for sitting back and enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sunset—it truly felt peaceful and special.
The breakfast each morning was delicious, paired perfectly with a nice cup of coffee and gorgeous views. The hotel is quiet, charming, and tucked away just enough from the busyness, yet still only steps from the beautiful center of Cadaqués.
If you’re looking for a relaxing, peaceful, and beautiful place to stay, Hotel Blaumar is truly a gem. The staff is lovely and welcoming. We highly recommend it!

We base our bookings on reviews so I appreciate an honest and thorough review. The staff were great. The building is somewhat charmingly dated… kinda like my deceased grandparents house (they were born in 1926) with cracked tiles and sinks. The view from our room with a balcony was beautiful and location is very nice, excellent quality windows to minimize sound outside, our bathroom was large and I love a tub. The breakfast that other reviewers glowed about was not impressive to me: small croissants and a muffin wrapped in plastic (not good, tasted like what we can get in the US), a cheese and pork plate (very good), a tomato, orange juice and coffee (both very good) and a bowl of bread (tasted like US bread). I prefer a more substantial breakfast and not carb heavy that leaves your stomach feeling full but still feeling very hungry 40-minutes later. I’d suggest they at least add hard boiled eggs. There are 3 outdoor tables and it’s lovely to eat outside in the morning. The hallways are dark (no natural light) and it’s hard to find the light switches, so keep your phone camera handy. This could easily be fixed by timed motion lights and seems a critical improvement for guest safety, especially because the floors are not all on the same level. I was in a car accident a few years ago that damaged my back and makes me very sensitive to very firm beds everywhere in the world so this is probably a “me” problem more than this hotel, but I slept horribly both nights and couldn’t wait to leave because the mattresses appear very old, the springs pricked into my back, and the beds were maximum firm. One of the beds in our room felt arched in the middle and I think was well past needing to be replaced. Mattresses have a shelf life of 8-10 years, this definitely seemed much, much, much older. I wish hotels all over the world could accommodate different sleeping preferences by selecting medium firmness beds instead of an extreme soft or extreme firm and/or could provide guests with mattress pads. Waking up to a disappointing breakfast and a body that aches for half the day loses my recommendation… despite wonderful staff and an adequate room (minus the bed… but the sleeping part is the whole point of a hotel). If the bed had been comfortable and the breakfast more substantial and shampoo and conditioner, I’d have given this hotel 5 stars. I think this hotel needs to invest more in guest experience.

This hotel has a delightful secret. The entire place is dedicated to Dali’s life and art! You feel the joyful whimsy the minute you enter the lobby where, if you are lucky, you will be welcomed by the charming owner. He encouraged us to use his collection of Dali-esque canes for our photographs, making us feel at home. The wifi is very good and our room had a wonderful view of the town and the sea. Price is very reasonable

I cannot say enough about the excellent customer service at Hotel Residencia in Cadaques. Absolutely everyone was courteous and went out of their way to make our visit superb. To start, I originally booked through one of the large travel companies and the when a friend in Spain called regarding parking, he told her she could get a better deal booking directly with the hotel and in addition get a free breakfast which was perfect. He told her to remember to tell me to cancel the original booking. When I hadn’t cancelled right away, he emailed me to remind me!
Our room for 3 was beautiful with a balcony facing the gorgeous view of the sea. When we left, we got a parting gift of posters, a lovely touch.
Do stay here if you are ever in Cadaques.
Hans-Marius Øverås★★★★★
Brilliant hotel. Small, but perfectly prepared rooms, smiling staff and nice breakfast! The water pressure in the showers are especially good here. The location is brilliant. If you go out to eat, try walking down the street just on the other side of the street for the hotel.

We stayed in La Residencia one night and it was wonderful. From its staff, location, clean rooms, to the whimsical, quaint decor, everything was superb. La Residencia's locations is extremely good, it is in the middle of the town center and everything is walking distance. The rooms are very very clean as well as its bathrooms. Our room had a queen bed, a flat tv, desktop, private bathroom (with bathtub and hair dryer) and mini bar (with very reasonable prices). Our reservation included breakfast, and if you can, don't skip this; the breakfast was delicious and plentiful (basket with croissants, pan au chocolat, madalenas, bread, cheese, ham, tomatoes, fruits, juice and coffee).
The true gem of this hotel is the staff, super helpful, informative and you can feel they got your best interest in mind truly. This hotel was the highlight of our trip in Cadaques and it is a must.

Loved this hotel and its vibe! Perfect location, on the edge of the old town, 2-3 blocks from the main square and ocean, so you feel some tranquility from a day of hiking. Cadaques is a great central location to hike along Cap de Creus and hike from town to the lighthouse. We will be back!!!

My husband and I loved our stay at Les Arrels. Our room was clean and very comfortable and the breakfasts were incredible. I was a bit nervous about walking into town from the hotel, but the host showed us an easy path when we checked in. It was so easy that we never drove into town, only walked.

Absolutely loved our stay at Les Arrels Hotel Cadaqués, everything about this place is amazing. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and effortlessly elegant.
Breakfast was a delight in the morning, fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and enjoyed with a view that’s nothing short of breathtaking. The panoramic scenery from the hotel is truly unforgettable.
One of our favorite spots was the rooftop bar, perfect for a sunset drink while soaking in the serene landscape and great singer!
A peaceful retreat that we will definitely come back to. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Cadaqués🩵

Tastefully family owned and operated boutique hotel. Wonderful location overlooking Cadaques. Very delicious breakfasts and a serene pool.
Jane O'Brien★★★★★
Our friends treated us to a few days in Cadaques, and they had stayed at Les Arrels in the past. The view is spectacular and really does take your breath away when you arrive, would say the best view from a hotel in Cadaques. Location isn't ideal for everyone, as it's high up out of the town - so you'd have to drive or master the the hills / steps but this did not bother us. Rooms are adequate but I would say having a shower in our room made it very hot and the air con wasn't really helping. Also the steps in our room were a little treacherous, especially in the night. Shower was good and beds were comfortable although a little hard for my personal taste. Breakfast was very good with some of the best homemade cakes and delicious freshly squeezed orange juice. You really didn't need to have any lunch after their breakfast.
My only tiny criticism is the family team are very welcoming but I did feel sometimes like I was asking for too much when I asked for an extra coffee or something slightly different. Didn't always feel like we were made to feel welcome. However, I would recommend this hotel to those who want the best views of Cadaques.

Loved this hotel. Perfect location overlooking the bay. Easy to walk into the centre where there are so many great restaurants and bars. The hotel provided excellent service for drinks and breakfast. Our room was on the 2nd floor with a balckny. It was lovely clean and fresh with a comfortable bed, good sheets and bathroom towels were of a good standard and size. We used the private car park which is located a few minutes walk away. All in all we were delighted and will definitely go back.

An excellent hotel. All the staff were great. Lovely to have breakfast outside overlooking the bay. Rooms and hotel in general were very nice and modern/ well appointed. Some free parking on the street outside. Well sheltered beach with a swimming area just outside. When looking for accommodation initially the direct rate wasn't coming up in the search, so worth checking the website. We had dinner one night in the hotel's fish restaurant, which was also great with fantantastic service and food. Would love to return.

Great little hidden get away at the other side of town. Perfect for a walk along the coast and a quitter stay. We were here at end of season so very quiet, not sure what it would be like during the busier summer months.
The service could be better though, not friendly or helpful staff tbh, maybe they were season tired, but that is no excuse (hence the rating)

Like a literal dream. This beautiful hotel will forever be in my heart.
I have never, ever had a more beautiful view from a hotel.
The Mediterranean was literally feet from the bed. On the private balcony, the mountains were right behind us.
We left the balcony door and windows open at night. Falling asleep to the sounds and scent of the Mediterranean was the most tranquil experience.
The beds are ultimate comfort, jet showers, Dyson hair dryers and espresso machines right in the room.
I could stay here from April-November and never want to leave.

We spent a week here in early July and had a lovely time. I’d read some of the poorer reviews and was nervous beforehand, but ended up having a lovely time.
The Cala is lovely, it’s remote (20 mins down a well maintained dirt track), and in July and August there’s no traffic allowed between 9:30 and 4:30 so the beach is pretty quiet.
Our rooms were comfortable, with a lovely sea view and balcony.
There was a very odd setup with a floor to ceiling window in the shower room… whilst it gave a view of the sea from the shower, it also meant that you could see the shower and loo from the room. I’d really recommend the hotel put a privacy blind, or frosting to help guests maintain a modicum of dignity! 😳 but it wasn’t anything a “please don’t look while I go to the loo” couldn’t sort out.
The olive grove terrace was very charming. The pool area was pleasant, although I’d have liked a couple of parasols to help create more shade - the olive trees are lovely but provide patchy shade.
The hotel restaurant had a lovely sea view. We ate very well at the hotel. Full board, so a set menu. It was all really good.
Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
I’d definitely recommend and would like to return.

Unique and fabulous hotel. Stopped here on our hiking holiday and it was like arriving in paradise! Restaurant food was amazing, lovely swimming pool and very friendly staff. We hired canoes to explore the nearby coast. They have their own vineyard and the wine is for sale, some bottles are matured under the sea! A very special place right by the most beautiful secluded beach.

An amazing drive takes you to an amazing hotel. The price point keeps the clientele to a nice level. The building itself is well maintained and simply gorgeous, big enough rooms with unbeatable sea views. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom. The staff are professional and friendly. Stunning exotics gardens, swimming pool and acces to a breathtaking bay with a pebble beach.
But....the restaurant is a total let-down. Dinner was so bad we didn’t want to stay for lunch the next day. (Although breakfast was very pleasant). Dinner was a disaster. I don’t mind the crazy high prices but the quality and preparation needs improvement. A big shame to another wise great weekend.

This is another place that locks up at a certain hour every evening to reduce staff load overnight. Immaculately clean and very well maintained. The room was basic but highly functional including a fridge for your stuff, flat screen TV, air conditioning, terrazzo floors, windows that open with upgraded storm shutters, good wifi, fully controlled by near field key card that tunes everything on/off.

The location is really good. The personal is the best. And the rooms are great except for the beds.

Hard to imagine how this place could be better without being significantly more expensive. Excellent people, very clean rooms, great location. The owner also helped us to resolve an issue we had with our car and to find parking. Excellent overall.

Right in front of pub if you like your sleep don’t pick this one.
On our last night there was drunk couple fighting in room for over 2 hours. Nobody is in reception to stop anti social behaviour!!!

A small hotel with a homely atmosphere. Nice welcome and staff. Clean, nice room, bathroom with bathtub. Great breakfast, gluten-free pastries and muffins. The hotel is in a great location close to the beach and the center. I definitely recommend it.

Our daughter had been studying for the semester in Barcelona, and we decided to take a side trip to "Dali Country" when we visited her there. We had an apartment in Barcelona, and decided to only stay in Cadaques for 1 night, touring the Dali home there, and leaving for the museum the next morning. We all wish we could have stayed here longer!! This hotel is perfect!! Such nice staff, such nice and clean rooms, perfect location. And Cadaques......such a special place. We will be back!!

Hostal in the entrance of The Villa of Cadaqués. The price of this hostal is affordable, the room has everything you need without being too fancy, just what you need. The bed and the matress is one of a superior hotel, that's true. The host is lovely. And the parking is included with the prize, which is a great thing is this small Villa

Really fine. Clean, simple look of the room, meaning: just because it's a simple hotel doesn't mean it's ugly inside, like some holiday resorts have this awful look, haha, anyway, to stay on topic. Friendly and helpful reception, not sure how and if breakfast is served but I think going for a walk and finding something near to have breakfast is better and easier. Room cleaned up and beds made correctly. 5 min walk to the boulevard. Which is fine cause you get to see the bakeries, cash machines and supermarkets near. For Cadaqués: by all means walk and get lost in the streets around the church, don't just depend on the restaurants on the boulevard. Avoid Bambu Blau restaurant. They charge 6e for 2 scoops of ice cream. Have pizza at Cesar. Visit Dalí's house for lovely nightmares. And stay at this hotel if you need a nice and correct more affordable place.

Tips for Choosing Your Boutique Hotel in Cadaqués
The right hotel depends on your travel style, mobility, and how you plan to spend your days. A family visiting in August has different needs from a couple on a quiet spring escape or a solo traveler sketching by the harbor. These practical tips will help you match a property to the experience you actually want.
Book parking before you book the room. Free and easy parking does not exist in central Cadaqués during high season. If you are driving, confirm whether your hotel has a private lot or a reserved space. Otherwise, plan to park in the public lots on the edge of town and walk or take a taxi to your door.
Check whether the hotel is inside the pedestrian-only old town. Many of the most atmospheric boutique hotels sit on narrow lanes where cars cannot enter. That means you may need to carry your luggage over cobblestones. It is worth it for the character, but pack light and ask if the hotel offers luggage assistance.
Look closely at the view description. In Cadaqués, “sea view” can mean a full panorama of the bay, a partial glimpse between rooftops, or a distant sliver from a side window. If the view is a priority, read recent guest reviews or contact the hotel directly to ask what you will actually see from your room or terrace.
Consider a room with outdoor space. The best part of staying in Cadaqués is often sitting still: a morning coffee in the sun, a glass of wine before dinner, the sound of gulls and water. A private terrace, balcony, or garden corner can transform an ordinary stay into a memorable one.
Travel in shoulder season if you want atmosphere without crowds. May, June, September, and early October offer warm days, open restaurants, and a calmer version of the village. Boutique hotels are also easier to book, and you will have more space on the beaches and trails around Cap de Creus.
Ask about breakfast before you commit. Some boutique hotels serve excellent local breakfasts with tomato-rubbed bread, cured sausage, fresh fruit, and good coffee. Others offer a minimal buffet or none at all. If you like to start the day slowly, a hotel with a strong breakfast is worth prioritizing.
Think about whether you want to be in the center or above it. Staying near the harbor means you can step outside into the evening buzz. Staying slightly uphill gives you better views, cooler breezes, and more quiet. Both are valid; the choice depends on whether you prefer convenience or retreat.
Cadaqués rewards travelers who slow down. The village is small enough to explore on foot, but its light, its water, and its quiet corners reveal themselves over time. Choosing a hotel that feels like a place you want to return to in the afternoon is often more valuable than choosing one with the longest list of amenities.
A great boutique hotel here should not compete with the landscape. It should frame it, soften it, and give you a comfortable place to rest between swims, walks, and long meals. Whether you choose a room above the harbor or a hidden house in the old town, the goal is the same: to let Cadaqués work its slow, bright magic on you.
