Sitting down to a long, lazy meal is one of the greatest pleasures of visiting Ibiza Town. While the island is famous for its nightlife, the capital offers a surprisingly deep culinary landscape that extends far beyond late-night snacks. From sun-drenched terraces overlooking the marina to hidden patios in the cobbled lanes of Dalt Vila, the city caters to every taste and budget.
The challenge, however, is separating the truly memorable dining experiences from the overpriced tourist traps. With so many options competing for your attention, a little local knowledge goes a long way. Whether you are craving fresh seafood, authentic Spanish tapas, or innovative international fusion, knowing where to look is essential.
The best restaurants in Ibiza Town combine high-quality ingredients with that effortless Mediterranean atmosphere that makes dining here so special. You can spend a fortune on a tasting menu or keep things simple with jamón and a glass of local wine. Both experiences can be equally satisfying if you choose the right spot.
This guide focuses on establishments that consistently deliver excellent food, warm service, and a genuine sense of place. We have considered everything from the historic charm of the old quarter to the vibrant energy of the port. The goal is to help you navigate the dining scene like a seasoned visitor rather than a first-time tourist.
Because the island has such a strong international influence, you will find Italian, Japanese, and Middle Eastern flavors sitting comfortably alongside traditional Spanish cooking. This diversity is part of what makes eating in Ibiza Town so exciting. You can easily spend a week here and never eat the same cuisine twice.
Still, the heart of the local food culture remains rooted in the Mediterranean. Look for dishes built around olive oil, fresh vegetables, locally caught fish, and the famous Ibizan salt. These simple, high-quality ingredients are the foundation of the island’s best cooking.
To help you plan your culinary itinerary, we have curated a list of standout restaurants that represent the very best of the city’s dining scene. Use this as your starting point, but do not be afraid to wander down a side street and discover your own favorite corner bistro along the way.

Puerto Fino was one of the highlights of our trip to Ibiza. The steak was, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever had. The wine selection was outstanding and paired great with our meal. The service was attentive, the atmosphere was elegant. If you’re in Ibiza and looking for an exceptional steak and great wine, Puerto Fino is an absolute must-visit. We’ll definitely be back

We had a great experience at Puerto Fino Ibiza. Highly recommend the picaña carpaccio for appetizer, which was recommended to us by our waiter Domenico. The service was very attentive and the food delicious. You can't go wrong coming here for dinner.

A place we love coming back to. The food is excellent and the staff is super kind, always attentive and helpful.
If you're a meat lover, this is a must, absolutely fabulous. The sunset view over the harbor in the evening is the cherry on top.
Great location and atmosphere, highly recommend.

Amazing food. Service though was the highlight.
Pedro made the experience memorable. He took care of us from when we walked in, to helping us pick the perfect steak by for preferences. Very knowledgeable and passionate. Would highly recommend

We had a lovely dinner at Puerto Fino, Ibiza. Our server, Domenico was very friendly, fun and engaging! When asked, he told us about his life and his travels. He is extremely well travelled and cultured and was able to relate to us and assist us with questions about the island! On top that, the food and wine were delicious! A great vibe by the water. Thank you to Domenico and the team 🙂

Visited today for breakfast and unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. We waited 40 minutes for our pancakes, and only then they realised something had gone wrong with their system, which meant we had to wait another 10 minutes on top of that. We also asked for extra coffee, which took far too long as well.
Overall, the service was extremely slow, especially for breakfast, and the prices were very high for what we got. The waitress was super nice and apologetic, and I do appreciate that, but unfortunately it didn’t make up for the long delays and poor overall experience.
Sadly, we didn’t enjoy our visit and probably won’t be coming back.

The most frequented restaurant of ours on vacation in Ibiza, because almost all the dishes we tried here were very tasty and the tapas were diverse.
Julian and Daniel were two of my favorite waiters, both for their friendly and attentive approach and for their inspired recommendations.
For burgers, you need to specify how you want it cooked, otherwise the cooking method is medium rare.
Unfortunately, the paella was not to my liking both in terms of flavor and because the crust was missing. Also the dressing of one of the salads is composed only of mustard, which was not to my taste.
Otherwise I highly recommend: baked provolone, padron peppers, garlic butter prawn, octopus croquetta, fried calamari, ribeye steak, Crispy tacos, grilled octopus and patatas gratin, this side dish that surprised me extremely pleasantly.
The desserts are also worth a try. The tastiest was the brownie with ice cream.

An absolute highlight in Ibiza! The brunch was incredibly delicious – everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The service was outstanding: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we arrived. And the location? Simply breathtaking! Right on the beach with stunning sea views – the perfect place to start the day. If you’re looking for an unforgettable brunch experience in Ibiza, don’t miss this place. We’ll definitely be back! 🌴☀️🥐

We had a great diner at Sa Cova, the staff, the food, the cocktails, everything was tasty, beautifully presented and served.
Favorite cocktail, Madame G’z
Main, definitely the Pulpo
Classical French Tarte Tatin for dessert
The view on Dalt Villa and the small breeze make their terrace a very lovely place to be sitting at.
Thank you guys, we’ll definitely come back.

Amazing food and service. Everything from the fresh bread with home made butter to the apps watermelon salad , artichoke , array of cheeses to the main courses , duck, eggplant , steak to dessert. All amazing. Great little options of wine also. Definitely a must eat
Mitko Mitrevski★★★☆☆
Sa Cova has a truly beautiful setting: quiet, romantic, and full of character. Booking was smooth, and we appreciated the confirmation call. We also enjoyed the starters, and the initial welcome and ordering process were good.
Unfortunately, the rest of the evening did not match the atmosphere. Our wine bottle was taken away to be chilled, but when we asked for another pour, it appeared that we had been served a different wine. We raised this with several staff members, but no one clarified what had happened or offered a resolution.
The mains also need more consistency: the calamari was overly salty, the steak arrived rare despite no one asking for a preferred cooking temperature, and the duck was chewy. Service became very difficult to access during the meal, even though we were happy to communicate in Spanish.
Sa Cova has the setting and potential for a great experience. Clearer wine-handling procedures, staff empowered to resolve concerns, proactive check-ins, and slight improvements in the kitchen would make a major difference. We left without trying dessert because, by then, the experience had lost momentum.
Dennis Tønnesen★★★★★
French charm meets the Mediterranean at SA COVA, and what an absolute hidden gem!
From start to finish, everything was exceptional: both food and staff alike. The steak tartare was beautifully prepared, while the beluga lentil salad was absolutely divine — fresh, refined and full of flavour. The catch of the day, a gorgeous seabass, was incredibly juicy, delicate and wonderfully fresh.
A truly memorable meal and worth every penny. One of those places you almost want to keep a secret. We will definitely be back!
Jaina Bhana-Mistry★★★★★
A lovely little restaurant in the old town. We found it on google maps and read the reviews. We were not disappointed, the food and service were lovely.
We wanted to book in advance because it’s a small place, lucky 🍀 we did as it got busier as the night progressed.
Food was good, portions sizes were good. All the dishes were explained from the menu including where the fish was coming from and how the dessert was prepared.
Highly recommend this restaurant in the Old Town.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was warm and welcoming. It’s a lovely place to sit and enjoy a meal with a beautiful sea view. I would definitely recommend it.
The only small downside was that the music was quite loud, which made it difficult to have a conversation if you’re dining with friends. But I guess that’s part of the Ibiza atmosphere.

We had a really lovely experience at Ohana Ibiza. The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. We tried the sushi, which was excellent, and the salmon was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Everything we ordered was really enjoyable.
The desserts were definitely a highlight too! We had a crêpe and the pistachio tiramisu, and the tiramisu was honestly incredible — creamy, flavourful, and one of the best desserts we had during our stay in Ibiza. The atmosphere was lovely as well, and we really enjoyed our evening here. I would absolutely recommend this place!

Unfortunately its a mainly fish restaurant. And the meat options they have are not good... So I would skip this restaurant if you are not into fish. Staff and vibe are good. Its next to the beach which is nice.

Really good food and I loved the table at the boulevard. We had the iberico ham, wagyu carpaccio and the paella. The beach waves gave a peaceful atmosphere. Only not all waitress speak English which I think is necessary in a place with many tourist like Ibiza
Derrick Murray★★★★★
Fabulous experience.
This is one of the best restaurants we’ve been to in a long while. The menu is full of gems and the quality of food and service is outstanding. Every dish we tried was so tasty and interesting, with some inventive quirks.
The ambiance is great - lively and buzzing (you do need to reserve a table). Because it’s open to the sea front, the noise levels were very comfortable even when it was crowded.
Service was friendly and efficient. We loved everything we tried, but favourites were: Salmon Tartar, Seafood Linguine and Pistachio Tiramisu.
Fair warning: it IS seafront Ibiza, so it's pricey.

Little hidden gem right on beachfront. The quality of food is outstanding and very decent pricing. Definitely we will eat here frequently. Cute restaurant facing the sea. The food was delicious and I appreciated the availability of many plant-based dishes. The grilled veggie platter was so good! Andrea was absolutely amazing- we loved her energy. My husband and I will happily come back!

We found Little Ibiza Restaurant through a recommendation, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. From the moment we walked in, we felt the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The music instantly brings you to the heart of Ibiza, and the attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients are truly impressive.
We started with two freshly squeezed juices: the Detox and the Alkalizer Tonic. For our main courses, we chose the udon and the burger, and both were absolutely delicious. The burger is served with an amazing homemade sauce that perfectly complements the flavors. The udon with shrimp and crab is a unique dish inspired by Indonesian cuisine. The restaurant owner is from Indonesia, and you can really taste the authenticity and care that went into creating this recipe.
We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, a wonderful atmosphere, and a memorable dining experience.

We had a fantastic time at Little Ibiza! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was amazing. The décor is beautiful, the seafront location is stunning, and the music creates the perfect relaxed holiday vibe.
A special mention goes to our waitress, Maja, who really made our experience. We were in a bit of a rush, and she made sure we were served quickly without compromising on her friendly, smiley service. She really brought the energy and even treated us to a limoncello at the end, which was such a lovely touch.
The cocktails were delicious and very reasonably priced too. We visited as a group of girls and had the best time, but it's definitely the kind of place that would suit couples, families, or friends alike.
Highly recommend if you're in Ibiza—we'll definitely be back!

The place is for us the best place in talamanca and could be as well in all ibiza. Good services, excellent food, flamenco show on saturdays and music band in the summer. Great atmosphere and vibe! No bling bling, no show off, pure and authentic kitchen and humans! 10/10

Went for lunch as a family of four. Wide and varied menu which can often mean quality not so good however everything we ordered was excellent. Sushi was amazing and higher quality than many much more expensive places. Service was nice and friendly too. Not the flashiest of places but would highly recommend for a beachfront restaurant with superb food and service

I went on a Saturday evening and was pleasantly surprised by traditional Spanish flamenco! This seems rare somedays in Ibiza. The food was DIVINE - and great value for money. Next to the beach so you can hear the waves in the evening, super vibes, and amazing staff. This would be perfect for a date or even a group setting.

This restaurant deserves a strong 5 star. We had our dinner there even though they were about to close we were served with a very friendly and professional way,no pressure about the time. The food was incredible. I had grilled seabas, my husband went for grilled entrana (part of beef)and our son had chicken curry. The owner came out and checked if we were ok as it started to rain a bit so he offered to move us inside. He also answered all our questions about ingredients. The story behind his restaurant is beautiful and each detail has a meaning. I can't forget about the location as it's breathtaking, just at the beach. There is a very good vibe about this place and to our surprise the owner is going to open his second restaurant in Malta so I definitely know where my our nex destination will be.
Thank you very much for a great food experience and good luck in Malta

An absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. The service was exceptional, Samuel, the owner and chef, was fantastic and made us feel incredibly welcome. Every member of staff was attentive and super friendly.
The food was on another level. The liver parfait was unbelievable and easily one of the best starters we’ve had. For the main, we had steak cooked perfectly to our liking, with sides that were just as impressive.
I couldn’t recommend this place more highly to anyone staying in Old Town Ibiza. We’ll definitely be returning the next time we’re here. Thank you so much for such a memorable evening!

A beautiful meal in a lovely restaurant with friendly staff.
The menu is unique with dishes such as fennel salad with buttermilk and tomato sauce or razor clams in ginger or celeriac served in 5 different ways - all delicious.
The bread basket is also amazing with the most delicious homemade flavoured butter.
We will certainly be back to try the other dishes on the menu 🥰

A truly five-star experience from chef Samuel and team. Each dish was beautifully crafted from presentation to wonderfully interesting flavors. Chef was a delight explaining to us the idea behind each dish and also sharing with us his stories and a shot of limoncello at the end! Great spot for fresh and fine tapas.
Service was depending on the waiter but the quality of the food was there !! As mentioned by other users i would recomand the brioche with beef and the delicious tarta de queso that tastes like crème brûlée and flan. I’d advise the sardinas as well, very tasty. But all we had was great.
Alex★★★★☆
Mixed experience overall. One waiter greeted us with a rather sour attitude and looked us up and down, which felt uncomfortable. On the positive side, another waiter actually cleaned the table properly before serving us - something I’ve almost never seen in places of this level in Spain. The food was decent, but the portions were very small, especially by Ibiza standards.
Vincent Laporte★★★★★
Finally, let’s escape the tourist area of Ibiza where English and German lads are wasting money on expensive and eccentric theatrical overpriced pseudo restaurants, let’s get back to basics. And here comes ‘La BARRA de la BIENTIRADA’. What to say, trendy local spanish (yes you know real spanish) where the staff barely speak english… So yes get ready to discover Europe.
The food was insane… just insane. The best grilled octopus with that ‘parmentier’ real aioli like real Marseille locals will do it, with potato and not just mayo. Giving that amazing texture, and concentrated in garlic and smoke paprika, INSANE.
Then all the other ones like that sweet corn ‘brioche’ with crunchy calamari and aioli. OMG. so good that contrast.
Everything was good and simple, to that ultimate challenge I have now, I need to contact them to get the recipe for that insane ‘tarta de queso’ OMG.. I cook a good Basque style one, but this one is my official worldwide benchmark. RECIPE and proportion necessary please ;o)
So overall it was a really good experience. If you’re looking for more locals, get there, otherwise stay in the middle of the city center.
GUYS TIME TO OPEN ONE in PARIS ….yes PARIS…. Allez venez…

To be honest the salmorejo was good but not incredible while the brioche of Shrimps was very tasty. That said the service is genuinely friendly. They asked me to change table to be able to unify a bigger one for a family and they offered me a Coffee at the end. One vote more for that. Recommended 👍

I unfortunately cannot share the same positive experience as many other reviewers.
We chose this restaurant because I was craving pasta and wanted to end our evening in Dalt Vila with a nice dinner. The photos and reviews from other guests looked very promising, which is why our expectations were quite high.
I ordered the Spaghetti with Clams. From the beginning, the waitress serving us seemed annoyed and uninterested, which already created an uncomfortable atmosphere.
At first glance, the dish looked delicious, but I was quickly disappointed. I understand that pasta with clams is typically saltier than other pasta dishes, but this was on a completely different level. The pasta was so heavily oversalted that it was genuinely inedible. I am usually very easy to please and almost never send food back, but in this case I had no other choice.
When I politely explained the issue, the waitress initially dismissed my complaint and seemed to treat it as if it were my problem rather than a mistake in the kitchen. She repeatedly referred to the dish as being “picante” or strongly seasoned, despite me explaining several times that the problem was simply the excessive amount of salt. Eventually, she took the plate back, although it was obvious that she was unhappy about doing so. What shocked me most was that not once during the entire evening did she apologize for the inconvenience.
Mistakes can happen in any restaurant, and that is completely understandable. What matters is how those mistakes are handled. Unfortunately, the lack of professionalism and concern for the guest was far more disappointing than the oversalted pasta itself.
The replacement dish was still quite salty, although not nearly as extreme as the first one. At that point, I did not want to complain again and simply ate it.
Throughout the evening, the waitress made no effort to improve the situation or check whether everything was now satisfactory. Only after other staff members appeared to intervene did she bring us complimentary olives. Even then, her service felt forced rather than genuinely attentive. Overall, I had the impression that she wanted us to leave as quickly as possible, which made me feel uncomfortable throughout the visit.
The reason I am not leaving an even lower rating is that another waitress later approached us, sincerely apologized, and kindly checked whether everything was alright. I wish she had been our server from the beginning. We were also offered a free limoncello at the end of the meal and received a 10% discount on the bill, all of which was appreciated. I am sure that other members of the staff, and probably other dishes on the menu, may provide a much better experience than the one I had.
On a positive note, the location and atmosphere are lovely. The restaurant is tucked away in a quiet side street, away from the crowds of Dalt Vila, and the outdoor seating area is cozy and pleasant.
I genuinely hope that this experience was an exception rather than the norm. My intention is not to criticize for the sake of it, but to provide honest feedback. While I appreciate the efforts made by other members of the staff to make things right, I hope the waitress reflects on how important guest care and communication are, especially when problems arise. Every restaurant can make mistakes, but guests should never feel dismissed or unwelcome. I sincerely hope that future guests receive a warmer and more attentive experience, and that our visit was simply an unfortunate exception.
Unfortunately, due to the food quality issue and especially the way it was initially handled, our overall experience fell well short of expectations.

This place is the most gorgeous restaurant ever. Right by the water in the marine and the best place for a date or a fun dinner with friend. Service was pretty good. Had clams for starter and probably the best clams I’ve ever had in my life. Had the fish for main, it was tasteless but I will say overcooked and little dry. The potatoes was really really good. Desert we had flao which was also good. Had a spicy margarita also, it was ok not super spicy but well balanced. Definitely would recommend to go in Ibiza

One of my favourite restaurants in Ibiza with an incredible view on the old town and castle of Eivissa, right by the water.
The service is always friendly and also gives good support when it comes to your choice of wine, etc.
I can only recommend the tuna main course and the cheese platter as a starter. It’s the perfect combination for me.
The location invites to wander around the marina and look at yachts and the beautiful stores nearby.
I would always come back!

Found this restaurant by accident. Very lucky to get a table without booking but the staff were great. The food was excellent. Ordered the sea bass which was filleted at the table. The child (fries) were to die for!! Definitely recommend

Great location overlooking the old town & harbour, and friendly enough service. Struggled with one waiter but that’s because I’m not fluent in Spanish. Had the sea bass where it was prepared at our table, and it was delicious.

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Calma at Ibiza marina. Ideally positioned with direct views to all the marina action with old town in the back ground, you will never be bored while waiting for delicious fresh fish.

One of the best dining experiences we had in Ibiza! 🇪🇸❤️ We loved Callas so much the first time that we ended up coming back for a second visit, this time to try some new dishes and, of course, repeat some of our favorites! 🫶
Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The dishes were beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and made with excellent-quality ingredients. The atmosphere is lovely, and the service was also outstanding, friendly, attentive, and welcoming.
It’s the kind of restaurant where you finish your meal already thinking about coming back. If you’re in Ibiza, Callas is definitely worth a visit. For us, it was one of the best discoveries of the trip, and we would happily come back again! ⭐️👏🏼

this was the BEST food me and my friend ate during our trip in Spain. The owners are a wonderful pair of Italian friends that put so much care and attention into what they serve. Everything was so fresh and clearly made from scratch. From the starters, to our pastas, to the steak, dessert and espresso martini - everything is AMAZING. This place is a must try, you will not regret it!!!!

The food was absolutely amazing - we ordered the prawn spaghetti and the truffle pizza - nothing like we’ve ever had before! Highly recommend - the service (Simone) was very kind and made us feel extremely welcome.
Please include this in your stay!😁

As an Italian living in the UK and someone who truly loves good food, it’s rare while travelling to find a restaurant abroad that genuinely captures the authenticity, quality and warmth of real Italian cuisine… but Callas absolutely does.
This beautiful family-run restaurant made me feel at home from the very first moment. Their speciality is fresh handmade pasta, and honestly, it is outstanding — authentic Italian quality, perfectly cooked and made with real passion and care. You can taste the difference in every bite.
But Callas is not only about amazing pasta. They also serve excellent meat and fish dishes, delicious Spanish specialties, and have a very good wine selection to accompany the food perfectly. Everything feels fresh, carefully prepared and made with love.
What makes this place even more special is the atmosphere: warm, welcoming and incredibly caring. You truly feel looked after and “spoiled” in the best possible way.
I genuinely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Ibiza. It’s one of those special places you discover while travelling and immediately know you’ll want to come back to again. Highly recommended!

Wonderful mainly Italian restaurant with nice tapas in a delightful street near the sea front. Everything we had was superb - clearly food made with intention and with love. The tapas was very good and our main dishes were interesting take on classics such as ravioli. I asked for an off menu vegan pasta dish and the chef prepared spaghetti with and olive oil and truffle sauce which was delicious. We had some tasty deserts too including a vegan chocolate cake/brownie.

This food left me speechless down to the bread basket. We ordered moules and prawn noodles - I won’t stop speaking about this. The shrimp fried rice also smelt amazing from the table across. It looks touristy. But the food is to die for. Great prices for the quality. Beautiful aesthetic. A must go.

The jewel of Dalt Villa. Beyond superb! The fried squid with avocado cream, noodles with prawns, lemongrass and green peppercorns in the most divine cream sauce done better than some Asian restaurants I’ve been to, and the steak with the tamarind sauce. 5 stars

Loved Lunch Here. Our first meal in Ibiza after checking into hotel nearly. I Reserved in advance but probably wasn't necessary for Lunch as was very quiet. We loved everything here. Service was super friendly ! Food was fantastic and the cava Sangria was amazing. Definately recommend. Would return for lunch again and would love to come at night too. Beautiful inside and outside.

It was one of the best things I have eaten in my life. Ceviche sea bass combination of the flavours and ingredients was just extraordinary. Lomo saltado also super tasty.

I chose this place because of its perfect 5-star rating. While there were things I enjoyed, my experience was mixed. The croquettes were well made, crispy outside, creamy and flavorful inside. Unfortunately, the anchovies were a big letdown. They were extremely salty, nothing like the fresh, lightly dressed anchovies I’ve had elsewhere in Spain, like at the Madrid market. I mentioned it politely and was told that’s simply how it is prepared in Spain... I understand that there could be regional differences, but since the dish was barely touched, I asked if they’d consider removing it from the bill; they declined. 13 euros for a small plate that I couldn’t eat was disappointing.

Amazing restaurant! The tapas were absolutely delicious, full of authentic Spanish and French flavors with a creative twist. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this place! Florent

Amazing experience! Delicious real italian food made with fresh products. Their pesto is the best I’ve tried and the pasta is superb. The cod dishes (we tried 2 of them) were equally impressive. Perfect service by Paolo, always super friendly. We were there for the second time today bc we loved it. Great wines by the glas and the desserts are a must, simply delicious. Try the basil pannacotta!!

My husband and I booked this restaurant as had taken a picture of it 10 years previous and said we must go back and try this beautiful place with the twinkling lights. 10 years later we did! We were not disappointed- the service was lovely and the host answered our questions she was so lovely and friendly. We loved the new ethos of the restaurant ‘back to earth’ and we feel it was exactly that. The music, the ambience and food was fantastic and we could tell all the food was cooked from the heart as per the introduction on the menu. The ingredients were fresh and seasonal. We loved it. We were not rushed in anyway (as some restaurants do) we felt so relaxed and happy when we left. We had the eggplant and mussels to start then the gnocchi and meatballs followed by pistachio cheesecake and tiramisu (all tasted fantastic) We met the manager who was so lovely and his passion shined through. Thank you to all who made this such a wonderful experience for us! We will be back

I visited La Scala based on glowing recommendations from my brother and sister-in-law, as well as my parents. It seems the restaurant may have changed ownership recently, as it looked slightly different to the photos they showed me – but it’s still a beautiful spot with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. They even have a very sweet dog, who we both instantly fell in love with!
The waiters were friendly and welcoming, though service was a little relaxed toward the end – we weren’t given a dessert menu (not sure if they serve desserts?) and had to ask for the bill and card machine after a short wait. Not a big issue, especially if you’re happy to go with the slower pace.
For starters, we shared the scallops which were absolutely delicious. For the main, we both ordered the octopus – my friend really enjoyed it, but I personally found it wasn’t quite to my taste, as it was more of a stew with potatoes. I tend to prefer grilled or barbecued octopus, so that’s on me for not asking more about the dish.
There was no bartender on the evening we visited, so the drinks menu was quite limited, but they still made us a lovely mojito each, which we really enjoyed.
La Scala is tucked away in a more peaceful, charming part of Ibiza Old Town, which I’d highly recommend exploring. If you do visit, I’d suggest asking the staff to explain the dishes in detail – that’s where I went a bit wrong!

We went into this restaurant because a torrential rain started and we needed shelter and food. We didn't look at the menu beforehand and regretted it a little in the end. The dishes had very small portions and were extremely overpriced. However, the staff was incredible, the red wine sangria was wonderful, as was the banoffee with ice cream - which took our breath away. In any case, 150 euros for a bill for two people was a bit too much.
Insider Tips for Dining in Ibiza Town
Before you make your reservations, it helps to understand a few local customs and practical details. Dining in Ibiza Town operates on a different rhythm than many other European cities, and a little preparation can make your meals far more enjoyable. These tips will help you eat well, avoid common frustrations, and experience the city like a local.
First, adjust your meal times to the Spanish schedule. Lunch is typically served from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and most kitchens do not open for dinner until 8:00 p.m. or later. If you arrive at 6:00 p.m. expecting dinner, you will likely find closed kitchens and empty dining rooms. Embrace the late evening meal, and enjoy a pre-dinner drink instead.
Second, always make a reservation for dinner, especially during the high season from June to September. The most popular restaurants fill up quickly, and walk-in availability is rare for prime terrace tables. A quick phone call or online booking can save you from a long wait or disappointment.
Third, look beyond the main port promenade if you want better value. Restaurants with direct views of the superyachts often charge a premium for the location rather than the food quality. Venture one or two streets back into the old town or up into the residential areas to find more authentic and better-priced meals.
Fourth, pay attention to the menu del día at lunchtime. Many excellent restaurants offer a fixed-price lunch menu that includes two or three courses and a drink for a very reasonable price. This is the best way to sample high-end cooking without paying dinner prices.
Finally, do not overlook the simple local specialties. Ibiza is known for dishes like bullit de peix, a traditional fish stew, and flaó, a mint-flavored cheesecake. Ordering these regional classics gives you a taste of the island’s culinary heritage that you will not find anywhere else in Spain.
Exploring the restaurants of Ibiza Town is an adventure in itself, one that takes you through centuries-old streets and along a glittering waterfront. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a casual meal after a day at the beach, the city’s dining scene offers something for every mood. Take your time, savor each course, and let the rhythm of the island guide your appetite.
