Las Palmas de Gran Canaria doesn’t simply wake up when the sun goes down; it undergoes a complete metamorphosis. The laid-back Atlantic energy shifts into a vibrant, rhythmic pulse that draws locals and visitors out onto the streets. Whether you are looking for a sophisticated gin tonic overlooking the harbor or a sweaty dance floor that pulses until sunrise, the city delivers.
Understanding the geography of the night is key to enjoying it. The scene is spread across distinct zones, from the historic cobblestones of Vegueta to the modern promenades near Las Canteras Beach. Each area attracts a slightly different crowd, offering everything from bohemian taverns to high-end rooftop lounges.
The local culture plays a massive role in how the night unfolds. Spaniards tend to eat late, meaning bars don’t really fill up until after 11 PM, and clubs often remain empty until 1 AM. To truly experience the city like a local, you must pace yourself, embrace the late start, and enjoy the art of bar hopping.
Music is the heartbeat of Las Palmas after dark. You will find a heavy influence of Latin rhythms, salsa, and reggaeton, but the underground electronic scene has also grown significantly. Live music venues, jazz bars, and DJ sets ensure that no matter your taste, there is a soundtrack waiting for you.
Safety and accessibility are generally excellent, making it an easy city to navigate at night. Taxis are affordable, and many of the best spots are within walking distance of each other, particularly around the port and the beach. The warm climate allows for open-air terraces to function year-round, blurring the lines between indoor comfort and outdoor freedom.
However, with so many options, choosing where to go can be overwhelming. A generic night out can be fun, but a curated experience based on your specific mood—whether romantic, wild, or cultural—is far better. That is why we have broken down the essential venues that define the city’s after-dark identity.
From hidden speakeasies to iconic clubs that have stood for decades, this guide covers the spectrum. We have focused on spots that offer not just a drink, but an atmosphere and a story. Below is the definitive list of the best nightlife spots the city has to offer.

We found this bar by accident after a delayed flight and being accommodated in a Las Palma's hotel overnight. The drinks are excellent and well priced. What makes this place special is the outstanding service and friendly staff. The outside seating is a brilliant place to meet other customers of all nationalities and experience some real, authentic Canarian atmosphere. We like this Bar so much we have booked and taken numerous Las Palma's City holidays and never fail to patronise La Buena Vida every evening. In fact we can't wait to be there next week. See you.

Friendly staff and good selection of bottled beer, including canarian craft beer. Good people watching seating outside. Visited twice in a week 🍻😀

Bad place to go! Very unfriendly staff: they just let you sing if you consume a lot.
Everytime a person buys a drink, he or she should get a piece of paper to write a song name on it. And then you have the right to sing this song. In reality you don't get 1 song per drink, but even if you buy 5 drinks at the same time, you still get just one song 😒
My friends gave me their song-papers so I could use their "singing rights", but the staff let me sing just two songs. I had been waiting for my third song over an hour, and then was told that they wouldn't play it, as I had consumed "too few." The money my friends spent didn't matter obviously. On the other hand they let other people sing 4 songs almost in a row, just cause they liked them, apparently. I have to add that I have got a musical education and was one of the few people there who could actually sing. But this place is not about music, it is about letting the drunkest people yell something into the microphones, so the rest of the visitors can break their ears on that.
If you want to go to a good karaoke place in Las Palmas, come to the Imaginario(calle Secretario Artiles 35) on Wednesdays or to Motown (calle Dr Grau Bassas 36) on Thursdays! Nice and relaxed atmosphere, friendly people and lots of fun! 🙂 Or to "Todas Maneras"!
I have never met so unfriendly staff as in "Reina de la Noche"! Especially the owner and the DJ!
Malo sitio.

Great bar! Javier, the Spanish bartender, is really awesome. Always smiling, welcoming, and in a great mood. He creates an amazing atmosphere and makes you feel comfortable right away. La Panthère Noire is a warm place where you always have a great time. I highly recommend it! Tanks you Javier for letting us keep this table before the reservation.

Absolutely horrible and disgusting pizza. The pizza itself and even the plate were all covered with breadcrumbs. It was not advertized as ‚crunchy pizza’ but that is how it tasted. When I asked for some olive oli to make it edible, first I was told that it was already on the pizza, when I insisted I was given… cooking oli (!). I have not tried anything else but the pizza was disgusting 🙁

Living in the south of the island , I pop up to Las Palmas ,Vegueta as often as I can ,and always love to discover nice places to eat .
After my midday hospital visit I decided to call in La Panthere Noir ,as I liked the look of the interior decor . The atmosphere inside was really chill , pretty quiet ,which I liked . I was only really wanting a snack ,so the Pan a Tomate was enough , with a coffee.
It was done to perfection . Good bread & Tomato flavours . The coffee was very good also.
I liked how I could leisurely do my admin on my phone whilst taking in the charm of the place & watching the world go by . Good service ,Good food. I will be back very soon .

Amazing place to sit down and talk whilst having some wonderful local food and drinks.
We found this place by coincidence and just sat down for drinks. Later, we ended up even having dinner there. I can totally recommended the papas bravas and las croquetas de pollo. The sandwiches are also great and I am sure so is the rest.
Very fresh and delicious food with great price performance. Hard to find nowadays!
Our waiter was also very fantastic, mega professional and respectful. So was his appearance and his gorgeous cologne which turned out to be from Zara to my surprise 🙂
His name was something with J and H but I forgot.
For sure I will come back and try the amazing pizzas he was recommending.

We waited 1 hour in front of the club, the security was pushing everyone and shouting at us for no reason (if they did their job and let people inside of the club in the first place maybe they wouldn't have to push everyone !!). 15€ for this is too much. There's better clubs to go in Las Palmas.
Douglas Forte★☆☆☆☆
This place should just close or they fire all uneducated security.
I was refused to get in because my social pants were Nike branded, but it was not sports. It was the go out line of nike.
Explained but they just said all Nike is sport and for me to call the police.
Well but now reading all the reviews it was a good thing I did not get in and gave them my money.
Stella S.★☆☆☆☆
My experience at the club was really terrible. The queue in front of the door was so crowded and not organized at all. The security men pushed us back in the front row, in our stomachs - that was really terrifying and hurtful. I am very disappointed of the service at the entrance.
Emp TV★★☆☆☆
They didn't let us in without giving us any reason, on top of that, they let in other people that were dressed the same way we were, and were our same age... probably friends of the bouncers.
Let me clear things up, I posted this after coming back from my vacation, I visited your place on a Saturday.

it’s literally the worst club i’ve ever seen, they don’t let anybody in even though you paid your ticket, on top of that the security is so rude, i’ll never go back there again

Perfect club if you love reggaeton music 🥰
They have outside bar as well if you like to talk and smoke outside.
the aircon inside is full blast which is good you will not noticed the coldness once you many drinks 🤣
Entrance is 20 euro with two drinks included.
Must try to go here🥰

They threw out a friend of mine for not appearing heterosexual enough. We tried to speak to the staff but their answer was to forcefully throw us out of the disco.
This is a hate crime: homophobia!
They have not apologized to us. Please do not come to this horrible establishment.

I was denied entry solely because I have tattoos.
I live in London and travel all over the world, and I have never experienced anything like this before.
Being discriminated against for tattoos in 2025 is unbelievable.
In my entire life, tattoos have never been an issue — on the contrary, they’ve often been part of the culture and atmosphere of clubs worldwide.
This place feels at least 50 years behind modern standards.
It seems like only retired people would feel comfortable here.
If a tsunami hit, it wouldn’t cause any financial damage — no one modern or international would be inside anyway.
Absolutely shocked by this outdated and narrow-minded policy.
I would not recommend this place to anyone who values inclusivity and contemporary culture.

Good catch—that was a mistake on my side. I unintentionally mixed in the word “приятна,” which is Bulgarian/Russian-influenced and doesn’t belong in an English review.
Here’s the corrected version:
One of my favourite places here, mainly because of the interior—it’s beautifully designed and creates a really pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The overall vibe is what makes this place stand out and keeps me coming back.
Service and pricing aren’t anything particularly special, but they’re solid and consistent. In the end, it’s the ambiance and feeling you get while being there that make it worth visiting.

Very good cocktails. We had a Negroni and a Pornstar Martini: both were excellent and well prepared.
The service was okay, although the waiters didn’t come to the table very often and we had to go inside to order again.
I didn’t like the moment of payment, when we were explicitly asked if we wanted to add a tip. I found it quite rude, especially since tipping is not really part of the culture in Spain, and it made me feel treated more like a tourist than a regular guest.
Gioia Jansen★★★★★
Our absolute favorite bar on Las Canteras! Ginger has the best-priced cocktails in the area and one of the few spots in Las Palmas with actual tequila options — which we appreciate more than they know.
But what truly makes this place special is the staff. Peter, Javi, Ana, and Daniel are the heart of Ginger. They’re friendly, attentive, and create an atmosphere that keeps us coming back every time.
If you’re on Las Canteras and want great drinks, great prices, and even better people, Ginger is the place to be. 🍹✨

At first we was scammed, because guy at entrance said to us „ticket cost 6€ with beer or 10€ with drink” but when we came downstairs woman on cash register said it cost 15€. That was cheating on us. Inside we got dissapointed, because soundsystem was a shit. WHERE IS BASS??? With this price is JOKE. In Poland in this price we have amazing quality of sound… I give second star for good DJ set (but only in one scene, second wasn’t good for us, because we love techno). I feel sorry for the DJ that he had to play on such crappy equipment. Was okay when we got drink with ticket but I Think is money scam… this party should cost max. 5€.

The girl tonight is the best DJ they have, should hotel her more often!
Marcelo Lavinas Werneck★★★★★
Nice club experience. It’s not really a techno club but they play electronic/lounge music. Fun as this style is hard to find in Spain. We entered for free (only until 1am) and the drinks were easy to order and descent price for a night club. Security was ok and the toilets were also in good conditions. I would recommend, but note that this is not a Spanish style place.
Florian★★★☆☆
Difficult to rate well, I mean, can a club really be a club if music is played without bass the whole time? (Due to consideration for the neighborhood) It's difficult to have fun as a 'non-Spaniard'; the Spanish obviously prefer to keep to themselves and don't pay attention to you, whether out of respect or disinterest., I don't know...
The club is medium-sized with two dance floors that aren't really separated, so you can always hear both types of music in the middle, which is very tiring. One floor played electro, the other more of a Latin style.
What's really disgusting is that you can't wash your hands, because there ist No sink on mentoilett, which means all the men are walking around with urine on their hands and touching the women like that, which is really unsexy...
If I understood correctly, you pay 15 euros after 1 a.m. and get a free drink. Before that, entry is free without a drink.
Despite everything, a well-intentioned 3 stars!"

I made it clear to the staff, and I don't know if the girl who raised her voice was a manager, but it was really bad form to take advantage of customers dancing to steal their almost full glasses, which they'd just ordered at the bar. I understand they want to make a profit, but on top of that, they charge €4 for a beer and €9 for mixed drinks, which you barely take a sip of, and they're just waiting for someone to turn their back so they can disappear. It's one thing to be okay, but for it to happen to us all night... I was disappointed with that. The crowd was great, people of all ages. The music was varied and from different eras.

My kind of bar. Here I learned that a really good Gin and Tonic should be with Hendricks gin and a Fever Free Tonic Water with a slice of cucumber in it. Fantastic!
Wonderful staff and a nice place outside to think about life or enjoy with friends!
The surroundings are full of bars and restaurants with happy people.

The best restaurant we ate at during our entire vacation! The cocktails are simply the best, and you can especially taste the love that goes into them. ❤️
You can have a great laugh with the waiters, and everyone is incredibly friendly. Our waiter Ruffi and his other colleague, who unfortunately had already finished work on our last evening, were especially great. You could talk and laugh with them really well.
I can really only recommend this restaurant – it’s simply perfect! 🥰
P.S.: The barefoot Germans 🇩🇪😂

What a wonderful place!!! This was the first restaurant we visited on our weeks stay and ended up here 5/7!! We tried to eat in other places but nothing compared. From the moment we sat down we were warmly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble. They certainly go out of their way to make everything perfect! The food was amazing ( and big portions!) steak cooked perfectly and the cocktails too were a good price and extremely yummy.
The owners and staff know exactly what good customer service is and treat you very well , A special thank you to Madeline and Cathy for making our holiday so special. We will definitely be visiting you again!!!

Had a great late night Sunday experience at Sunset Beach Bar. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the service was quite friendly (shout out to the great Alessio - made the night extra fun!). I wasn’t super hungry but ordered the garlic shrimp and it was excellent. Full of flavor, and fresh. Great people, really nice location to unwind, feel the nice ocean breeze, enjoy good food, and pretty cool to be right near the beach. Thank you so much.
Alessio hope to see you again my friend!
Tips for Enjoying the Nightlife in Las Palmas
To make the most of your evening, a little local knowledge goes a long way. The rhythm of the night here is different from Northern Europe or the US, and understanding the etiquette and timing will save you from standing in an empty bar or missing the peak energy. Here are the essential strategies for navigating the scene like a pro.
Time your arrival late.
Do not show up to a club before midnight. Most locals are still finishing dinner at 11 PM. Aim to start with casual drinks at a terrace around 10:30 PM, move to a cocktail bar by midnight, and hit the club at 1:30 AM or later for the best atmosphere.
Dress to impress but stay comfortable.
While Las Palmas is a beach city, most upscale venues and clubs enforce a smart-casual dress code. Leave the flip-flops and wet swimwear for the daytime. Men should opt for closed shoes and a collared shirt; women usually lean toward elegant but breathable attire suitable for dancing.
Master the art of the "Chinijo."
When ordering drinks, you will often receive a small complimentary snack, known locally as a chinijo or tapa. This is standard practice. It helps to line the stomach before a long night, so don’t be surprised when a small plate of olives or potatoes arrives with your beer.
Carry cash for taxis and small bars.
While credit cards are widely accepted in major clubs, smaller local bars and taxis often prefer cash. Having €20-€50 in small bills ensures you won’t be stranded or miss out on a round of drinks at a cash-only establishment.
Plan your route geographically.
Avoid wasting time and money crossing the city multiple times in one night. Choose a zone—either Vegueta for bohemian vibes and history or Las Canteras/Port for modern clubs and cocktails—and stick to it for the majority of the evening.
The beauty of Las Palmas lies in its ability to cater to the casual tourist and the hardcore party animal simultaneously. You can spend one evening sipping a glass of local volcanic wine in a quiet square, and the next losing yourself in a bass-heavy warehouse party until the sun rises over the Atlantic.
Ultimately, the key is to let go of rigid plans. The city rewards spontaneity. Follow the music, talk to the locals, and allow the warm ocean breeze to guide you to your next unforgettable memory.
