Nice has long been celebrated for its sun-drenched Promenade des Anglais, vibrant markets, and rich Niçoise culinary heritage. For years, the local food scene was dominated by classic bistros serving daube, socca, and salade niçoise.
However, a quiet culinary revolution has taken root in the French Riviera, transforming the city into a surprisingly dynamic destination for plant-based dining. Today, the vegetarian restaurants in Nice are redefining what it means to eat well in the South of France.
Chefs are moving beyond simple salads and side dishes, crafting inventive plates that celebrate the region’s exceptional produce. From delicate courgette flowers stuffed with herbed ricotta to rich, slow-simmered ratatouille and vegan takes on pan bagnat, the options are now remarkably diverse.
This guide is designed to help you navigate the best of Nice’s meat-free scene with confidence. Whether you are a lifelong vegetarian, a curious flexitarian, or simply someone looking for a lighter meal after days of indulgent French dining, you will find a spot that suits your palate.
The city now boasts everything from elegant fine dining rooms to casual, bohemian cafés tucked away in the Old Town. We have personally explored the cobblestone lanes of Vieux Nice, the artistic streets of the Port district, and the bustling neighborhoods near the train station.
Our selections are based on a careful evaluation of ingredient quality, menu creativity, atmosphere, and consistency of service. We prioritize establishments that source locally and understand the nuances of vegetarian and vegan cooking rather than treating it as an afterthought.
What makes Nice particularly exciting for vegetarians is the Mediterranean climate. The proximity to the fertile valleys of the Var and the markets of Provence means chefs have access to sun-ripened tomatoes, artichokes, olives, and citrus year-round. This bounty allows for menus that change with the seasons, ensuring that repeat visits offer something new and delicious.
Before you set out on your gastronomic journey, remember that dining hours in France can be strict. Many kitchens close between lunch and dinner service, so plan your meals around the traditional hours of noon to 2:00 PM and 7:00 to 10:00 PM. Now, let’s explore the standout addresses that make Nice a true haven for vegetarian food lovers.

I visited Saj by Milla a few weeks ago with my sibling and was thoroughly impressed! As someone always on the lookout for great vegan and vegetarian options, this place really stood out. We ordered the Tapas Platter, and since we don’t drink alcohol, the staff was kind enough to swap the drinks for the soup of the day.
That soup was the absolute highlight - incredible depth of flavor with a perfect, slightly spicy kick at the end. The platter itself was delicious, featuring fresh Za'atar, hummus, sundried tomatoes, olives, and pita. We also tried a flatbread with baby spinach, feta, sumac, and oriental spices, which was fantastic.
I can't recommend this place enough, especially that soup! That was just incredible!

One of the best meals I had in Nice. Arrived near closing for the afternoon but was gladly served by the owner. I had the butternut squash and pumpkin soup which was so hot and full of flavor. The lunch also came with vegan chili which was equally hot and tasty. Gluten free bread was available for Zataar toast. It was so good I ordered more to take home. It can be difficult finding restaurants that accommodate both vegan/vegetarian AND gluten free. SAJ does both and it's GOOD!!! The owner is both warm and friendly which makes this a must go when in Nice.

Cute little restaurant in the heart of old Nice. Lots of vegan options which is great and why we picked it. Friendly staff who know English as well. Food was delicious and tastes very fresh and homemade. Definitely a good choice if you are looking for something with vegan options in this area.

Amazing vegan food. So fresh and delicious. We sat outside at a lovely table and enjoyed the food and rose wine. Our waitress was wonderful and I would highly recommend. 10/10

Very delicious food! I ordered a flatbread with spinach and feta ,and I absolutely loved it. A very cozy restaurant situated in the Vieux Nice area. The owner was really sweet and welcoming. I absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone who lives in or visits Nice, vegetarian or not.

I absolutely love that I got to try Brazilian vegetarian food in Nice of all places. I visited twice because every item in the menu is too good. Service and decor top notch. Prices very reasonable. Also pro tip if you like spicy, ask for special spicy sauce. It can get crowded during peak hours so plan accordingly. Chef aka owner is personally always talking to the guests and that is always a good indication about the restaurant. Only one tiny instance the waitress did not know about the ingredients in a couple of dishes but I am knit picking. It's too good. Whether you are vegetarian or not, give it a try.

There are hundreds of restaurants in Nice and none quite like this one. We were visiting from the US and looking for a place where my wife (vegan + GF allergies) could eat. What we found here was one of our favorite meals of our entire honeymoon to Europe. The head chef (and waiter and owner and everything else) was super kind, patient & accommodating and the food was delicious. The place was small, local patrons mostly from what we could tell and a perfect place to shut out the world for a while. Finally, I'll say this: it is not very often you are served a plate of food and you can see the love and passion of the person who made it right on the dish. This is one of the very few places I've ever been where that has been true. Bravo!!

A Brazilian restaurant in Nice with a unique vegetarian concept. The food is absolutely delicious—full of flavor, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared.
The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. You really feel taken care of from the moment you arrive.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to try something different and enjoy great vegetarian food in a cozy.

We loved the fish burger and the ravioli. Unfortunately though the “fluffy” pancakes did not live up to the expectation.
The “fluffy” pancakes are not fully at all. They are very dense and wet on the inside. The texture is not pleasant. We could not finish the pancake. It was also far too much berry sauce compared to the amount of pancake. The pancake was swimming in sauce.
The service was okay. Overall I would recommend this spot for the food such as the fish burger and the ravioli. The steak dish also looked good! I just wound tear their pancakes. It is a shame since they seem to advertise the fluffy pancakes the most.
The pink chai was also lacking in flavor. If it were for the entrees being delicious I wouldn’t have given less stars. Luckily the entrees were very yummy and we were glad it was a 100% vegan restaurant.
Olivia Oostmeijer★★★★★
A fully vegan restaurant 😍 I had their fluffy pancakes which were so so good, I can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu, especially the smoothie bowls!! Their coffee was good and I also had a ginger shot that had a good kick to it. So a nice and healthy meal. The waiters are very friendly, and the had a wide selection of hard goods on offer too. Everything is very reasonably priced.

This place is incredible! I ordered an acai bowl and a moccacino, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s the best acai I’ve ever had. The balance of sweetness from the acai combined with the fresh fruit and crunchy granola was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend!

Had the Steak ... hearty plant based steak & broccoli and potatoes... very tasty... especially the accompanying sauces... vegan and gluten free was a plus... I'm not the biggest fan of plant based meats but I tried it and it was the good ... will definitely try more on the menu

Paper Plane is a true haven for anyone who loves good vegan food. We had the “fish” burger and the mushroom pancakes — both absolutely delicious, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made.

We were a party of four. We had very good Lebanese food, which according to our experience was very authentic. I expected a bit more raffinesse and non meat options but overall the experience was great and a very welcome change to having Mediterranean food on most of the other days. Super nice chef and service!

An amazing experience at Le Cèdre in Nice! This restaurant deserves not only to be in the Michelin Guide, but truly deserves a Michelin star. From the presentation, to the taste, to the warm accueil and service, everything was exceptional.
Without a doubt, one of the best culinary experiences on the Côte d’Azur. As a Lebanese person, I can honestly say that this restaurant elevates Lebanese cuisine beautifully — innovative and creative while fully respecting its authenticity and soul.
We chose the Chef Gourmet Menu paired with a wonderful Lebanese wine, and every dish was refined, flavorful, and memorable. It was also the perfect place to celebrate my birthday.
Excellent value for money and an experience I highly recommend to anyone visiting Nice or the Côte d’Azur.
Da Kev★★★★★
An exceptional Lebanese dining experience at Le Cèdre in Nice, where father-and-son chefs Jean and Anthony bring generous, innovative Lebanese flavors to life with their own creative interpretations. A beautiful balance of tradition and modernity—every dish is full of character, warmth, and delicious surprises.
Steve Lahos★★★★★
Le Cèdre in Nice offers a genuine taste of Lebanese cuisine, delivered with precision and authenticity. We chose the chef’s signature menu, and it turned out to be an excellent decision. The chef himself has a rather reserved, almost cold demeanor, but in a way that reflects professionalism rather than distance — straight to the point, no unnecessary embellishments, fully focused on his craft.
He is supported by younger family members who handle the service with the same level of professionalism. Their presence adds warmth to the experience, balancing the chef’s more stoic personality and creating a smooth, attentive service throughout the evening.
The food brought an impressive variety of flavors, textures, and aromas. Every ingredient felt fresh, thoughtfully selected, and carefully prepared. If you appreciate Lebanese cuisine, this is a place where you simply can’t go wrong — the dishes speak for themselves.
The restaurant is small, which adds to its charm, though it also means that a bit of luck 🍀 is needed to secure a particularly good table. We were fortunate to be seated at a lovely spot, discreet enough that our Cocker Spaniel could comfortably stay hidden and relaxed during the meal — a small detail that made the evening even more enjoyable.
Overall, Le Cèdre is a solid choice for anyone seeking authentic Lebanese flavors in Nice, delivered with professionalism, family spirit, and culinary confidence
Luca Catello Sannino★☆☆☆☆
We chose this restaurant based on its Michelin mention, which made the experience even more disappointing.
For our group dinner, we were served their so-called “gourmet” menu (43.50€ per person, drinks not included), exactly as advertised on their website — so no special arrangement was made for us. On top of that, as a group we were required to pay an additional amount for a single glass of wine, without any choice and without even being presented the bottle. The wine itself was of very poor quality.
Despite having booked and prepaid well in advance, we were split into two separate tables (15 and 5 people) placed at the entrance, while the main dining room was occupied by a large tourist group receiving identical pre-set meals. The entire experience felt closer to a mass service operation than to a proper restaurant.
The food did not meet expectations at all. The warm starter was particularly poor and barely edible, and overall the dishes felt pre-prepared rather than freshly made.
Service was also disappointing. The staff came across as inattentive and at times unnecessarily unpleasant, with clear communication difficulties.
Considering the pricing, the forced menu structure, and the overall level of execution, this experience does not reflect the standards one would expect from a restaurant associated with a Michelin guide.
Not recommended.

Charming, quaint Nicoise bistro a couple of blocks from the promenade. Open all day and offers an amazing variety of things to eat. Service is warm and friendly. The food here was out of this world. Our brunch was so delicious and affordable that we came back a second day. The La Banoffee pancakes was one of the most delicious treats that I have ever eaten. And the fresh squeezed orange juice was perfect. The service was so friendly that we will definitely visit here again when we return to Nice.

What a find- it’s on the strip in Nice where there are oodles of restaurants. I followed the reviews here and wasn’t disappointed. We loved the galettes, the charcuterie, and the crepes which were so delicious and the service was prompt and super friendly.

Thin, crispy crêpe loaded with wild mushrooms, melty cheese and a creamy sauce. And this isn’t just truffle oil for flavor they top it with actual pieces of real black truffle, plus shaved cheese, crunchy hazelnuts and fresh sprouts. So much flavor in every bite, the truffle smell hits you right away. Came on a cute vintage plate too. Staff were super friendly and the price was more than fair for what you get. If you’re around the old town, just go you won’t regret it 🍄

We tried the La Cocotte crepe, hummus and pita, ceasar salad, the grilled sausage and the waffle with fruit. The crepe was cooked to perfection and was delightful along with the sausage which had a yummy sauce with it. The Ceasar salad came in a good portion and was also very well prepared. The hummus lacked seasoning and was very bland which is the only downside. The waffle with fresh fruit was delicious as a dessert. Would come back!

Very cozy and quite place. First day in Nice, I just randomly checked online for a lunch. Didn’t reserve a seat but walked in. Food is very delicious and unique. Each ingredient is well-designed to contribute to the food. Dadri’s service is great as well. Very kind and responsive. He recommended to order the dessert Abricot poche Meme, which is amazing.. not very sweet, taste different with rosemary and caramel. Good experience and highly recommended to a one-person meal.

Restaurant Review: La Cantine de Mémé – Nice
I recently dined at La Cantine de Mémé in Nice and had a truly memorable meal.
First of all, a big shoutout to our waiter Badri — his service was excellent. He was friendly, attentive, professional, and genuinely helpful throughout the evening. His warm attitude made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable.
The Dishes:
The top plate featured a beautifully seared duck breast ,cooked to perfection with crispy skin and really tasted like steak. It was accompanied by roasted potatoes, fresh bok choy, a vibrant green sauce (likely a herb pesto), and artistic swirls of red and yellow sauces. The balance of flavours was impressive — rich, slightly sweet, and elegantly presented.
The bottom dish was an absolute highlight: a stunning grilled octopus tentacle. The octopus was perfectly cooked — tender yet with a nice bite, beautifully charred, and generously coated with a fragrant green sauce. It came with stuffed zucchini flowers, refreshing cucumber slices, and delicate purple shiso leaves on a striking terrazzo plate. The combination was fresh, flavourful, and visually spectacular.
From the thoughtful plating to the quality of ingredients and refined flavours, La Cantine de Mémé delivers a high standard of French-Mediterranean cuisine. With warm service (special thanks to Badri), a pleasant ambiance, and excellent dishes, this is definitely one of the standout restaurants in Nice.
Highly recommended! If you’re in Nice and looking for great seafood and refined meat dishes, don’t miss this place. I would happily return.

This way hands down the best food I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. My fiancé and I are completely blown away. The ambience and service is also amazing - very attentive and kind staff with a lively seating area with perfect vibes for a date night or dinner with family and friends. The menu changes every 2 weeks but the Mahi Mahi fish we had tonight was to die for - as well as the caramel brioche desert (I may be getting the name wrong but it seems to be a permanent item on the menu…you have to try it). Definitely definitely eat here if you’re from Nice or visiting…it’s insanely worth it. We can’t wait to come back!
Bosco Lee★★★★★
The food was fantastic, and the service was decent as well. However, it’s a pity they don’t serve lunch formula on weekends. If they did, it would be an ideal place for a meal. All the meals are excellent, so I definitely recommend it.

We went here for dinner last night and honestly… we’re still thinking about it 🤤❤️
We ordered the non-veg thali, grilled chicken, and chapathi (with and without cheese), and everything was just sooo good! The flavors felt truly authentic—like proper Indian home-cooked food 🇮🇳✨ Rich, comforting, and full of taste in every bite.
What we really loved was that they happily customized the spice level for us 🌶️ It made the whole experience feel personal and thoughtful.
The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming 😊 He came by, checked on us, and made sure we were enjoying everything. That kind of hospitality just makes you want to come back.
And I have to say… the absolute highlight was the dessert 😍🍮 total hero of the show! It just took the whole meal to another level—such a perfect ending.

I ordered the grilled chicken, which usually comes with salad, but they also offered lemon rice on the side free of course. The chicken was juicy and well cooked, with a nice flavor that wasn’t too heavy. Overall, the food was quite good.
What really made the experience stand out was the hospitality. The owner was very welcoming and even served an extra dessert on the house, which was a thoughtful touch.

Incredible experience! Completely vegetarian Michelin star restaurant with 10 course tasting menu (also included sizable amuse bouche and chocolate/small desserts to finish) for €85. Very good value. The attention to detail was incredible, and everything was so flavorful and beautiful. Service was pristine. We had a view of the kitchen and the chefs worked together in perfect harmony, which was magical to see. So happy we chose this restaurant for our time in Nice. Highly recommend!

Excellent, fully-vegetarian, Michelin star restaurant. 10 course set menu (turns out to be more like 13!) for €85, and with additional €70 wine pairing menu if you wish (we didn’t - not needed). Food was all really good, well-presented and flavourful. Great attention to detail and service from staff too. Our only negative was maybe that there was too much food! We were pretty stuffed by the end and took our small extra chocolates course home. But in that regard it is excellent value for money. Definitely recommended, especially if vegetarian.

Overall a good experience but was expecting more due to Michelin. Ingredients were fresh but lacking any powerful flavors. Ten courses were very generous but would’ve preferred less courses but food bursting with flavors. We were done in 2.5 hrs.
Rafn H. Ingólfsson★★★★★
It was a real pleasure to eat so many varied courses, in the restaurant where Bruno Cirino and his restaurant staff are. Creative and delicious food presented professionally. The place is small, which only makes it more cozy and warm. The proximity to the kitchen made everything very exciting for me as a chef and a big fan of good food like my wife. We live to eat good food, but we don't eat to live.
Very generous number of courses. My wife couldn’t finish all of them but tasted every one, which was a shame.
Sam Blackman★★★★★
Incredible! We found Racines Bruno Cirino on the Michelin website and planned a dinner for our trip to Nice, and it was without a doubt, one of the highlights of our vacation. The meal was simply incredible - the food was not just a work of art, but it completely reframed what we knew could be done with a vegetarian approach to haute cuisine. The ingredients were varied and creatively prepared, the plating was magnificent, and the wine pairings were spot on. The service was also wonderful, with the servers being sufficiently fluent in English to be able explain to us the provenance of the ingredients and the wines. Many of the vegetables used for the dinner were grown in gardens owned by the chefs, including one in Eze.
As a Michelin-starred restaurant, it was almost impossible to believe that we could have a comprehensive menu for 75EUR, but there you have it. An incredible value. A couple of things of note, however: the menu is truly comprehensive, so pace yourself and allow sufficient time for your experience. Our meal took about 4 hours. Second, it is a very substantial meal. In fact, we found at the second-to-the-last course (the 2nd of 3 sweet courses), that we had reached our limits and ended up having to bring the final dessert home with us. So either go hungry (but then pace yourself), or sample things but don't necessarily eat every bite on the plate. The servers said, at the beginning, that "the chef is very generous", and they were absolutely right.

service could be better, I was a bit uncomfortable to order as girl was not really super friendly. Also food can be better, like pancakes we were having were dry, they need to think it tried a bit more, but overall Im grateful for this vegan place, they need few improvements and they would be great!

The most delicious selection of food! My friend and I require a mix of vegan and gluten free food which I tend to find difficult when in France so we were very pleased when we found this cafe which could accommodate both of our requirements. The food was absolutely delicious. My friend had a vegan omelette, vegan cake and a coffee and I had gluten free/vegan pancakes and we shared a 'ham and cheese' panini. I am still craving the panini, weeks later!
I wish we had been able to visit multiple times on our trip but unfortunately we were not staying in Nice. I would have loved to try more of the items of the menu and had one of the cakes!

As a female solo traveller, I really appreciated that the restaurant accommodated my request for a quiet table. The service was fast, professional, and very polite. The waitresses were kind and attentive, regularly checking that I felt comfortable.
The food was excellent: the cheese agnolotti (fresh ravioli) were delicious, with a beautiful handmade Italian taste. The meat was also very tender and full of flavour.
The restaurant has a cosy, elegant, and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for couples, families, or solo travellers. The location is very central and easy to find. I would definitely recommend it and would happily return.
Thanks, Cynthia.

We had a pleasant lunch here during our visit to Nice.
The atmosphere was enjoyable, with a nice setting and a relaxed ambiance that made for a comfortable dining experience. The service was the highlight of our visit. Our waitress was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the meal. She took the time to answer our questions and made us feel genuinely welcome.
For food, we tried the lamb shank and gnocchi. The presentation was excellent, and the dishes were enjoyable. The lamb was tender and well cooked, while the gnocchi was rich and comforting. However, while the food was good, it was not particularly memorable compared with some of the other restaurants we have visited during our trip.
Overall, this is a place I would recommend for the warm hospitality, pleasant atmosphere, and solid dining experience. The service deserves 5 stars, the atmosphere 4 stars, and the food 4 stars, which is why I am giving an overall rating of 4 stars.
Thank you to the staff, especially our waitress, for making our visit enjoyable.

Incredible!!! Kay, our server, was kind, friendly and attentive. She allowed us to ask for rice on the lamb shank special (ordered by my husband). He raved with every bite. I had the Saubread with goat , honey, almonds, figs, etc. Delicious! Highly recommend this place. The best meal we’ve had in France at the most reasonable price

Great meal in France!
This was a fantastic first dinner in Nice right off the main drag.
We had reservation for 7pm and arrived a few minutes early. We waited a few minutes while they prepped our table and we were seated promptly.
The vibe was cool, very French cafe feeling on the streets. The waiters were kind and attentive was you settled in. They patiently answered all our menu questions. We ordered the fois gras (because when in France), the duck and the octopus.
All the food was excellent, the fois gras was perfect (although probably wouldn’t order it again for ethical reasons). The octopus was absolutely perfect, very very easy to screw up, but they nailed it; every bit melting in our mouths. The duck breast was perfect, juicy and cooked to perfect. All the dishes were served with plenty of accompaniment.
Great meal for a great French experience. Would highly recommend.

As a symptomatic celiac, was good to find somewhere in Nice where I could eat safely Gluten free. The staff were friendly and accommodating and seemed to be knowledgable when I said I had a gluten ‘allergy’ and that they needed to be careful about cross contamination in the kitchen.
As always, I would recommend advocating for yourself and making sure you are comfortable with the kitchen procedures and staff knowledge around cross contamination and celiac disease. Through my own questions, I felt comfortable eating here.
I had a small steak with vegetables and potatoes dauphinoise - it was all tasty and nicely cooked. I also had a crème brûlée for dessert which was great, and a limoncello spritz for a drink. Everything was nice, and while the place was a little expensive, for this meal it felt worth the price.
We arrived later in the evening and were able to walk in, but the place was busy so bookings recommended. Overall, good vibes!

The food and vibe of this place was impeccable! We had the salmon with rice and lasagna and both were so good, we wiped our plates clean. Also the tiramisu was excellent. The staff were so friendly and explained the menu nicely. The service was super quick too. Definitely a great find in the heart of old town. Must visit when in Nice !

Lovely, cozy place in the heart of the Old Town situated near the Place Garibaldi. We had Peppers in oil and Farcis Nicois which was delicious and well spiced. The red wine was fabulous.

We ate here after reading very positive reviews, so the expectations were high. Unfortunatley not all dishes were prepared evenly well. The bavette was terribly overcooked, grey inside and unpleasant to swallow. The chicken was okay, but nothing special. Steak tartare tasted like it was not hand chopped but prepared in a blender. The burger was the best, very tasty and prepared well.
Atmosphere was good and service quick.

Great service, great food and staff was wonderful. Got there slightly before closing for lunch, but they didn’t rush us and were very personable. Highly recommend!

Service was quick for a busy mid week visit. Presented with a board to choose from, went with the lasagne and it was a small portion, expected more to be honest. Wasn't offered any bread with the meal despite bread baskets been handed out to others, unsure if it's because I was solo. Interesting music choices being played to say the least throughout the meal.

EATSA is truly a gem in Nice! The food is absolutely delicious and they have fantastic vegetarian options, which made my dining experience so enjoyable. Their menu is impressively wide, offering something for everyone without compromising on taste or quality. The service was warm, attentive, and very welcoming – the staff really go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. Amazing concept of a restaurant and unbelievable food! Some of the best fast food I've ever tasted in my life, and we travel around the world a lot. Very well priced and super simple to order. We got two different meals, and the specials for the pita, side, drink, and dessert were so hard to believe that it came for all one price! We highly recommend this to anybody who's coming into town and wanting a quick meal without sitting at a full restaurant.

Loved the chai latte. My family loved everything we ordered! Even my picky 6 year old.😋😅

Avoid this place entirely. Whatever they’re serving as “chicken” has the texture of a molded protein block, dense, uniform, with none of the grain or fiber real meat has. See the photos and decide for yourself whether you believe it’s poultry. On top of that, they’re charging premium prices for it. This isn’t a bad meal, it’s a disaster. Don’t waste your money finding out for yourself.
Kian★☆☆☆☆
Beware, this restaurant gives you a free bowl in exchange for a five star review. It’s basically a Subway but for bowls and pitas.
While the food is edible, it’s nowhere near as good as the rating would suggest and the service is abysmal. Go to actual restaurants at make fresh food.

An authentic Ethiopian restaurant in Nice. The food is delicious and of the highest quality. Order the traditional dish to share and don’t forget to try the samosa. The owner/chef is very welcoming with her good nature and genuine smile to boot.

We had a wonderfully cozy dinner at La Table de Mamane. The experience felt like dining at someone's home—intimate and inviting. The chef, who I believe is also the owner, was extremely friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a cozy, delicious dinner with a unique twist, I highly recommend this place!

Warm, intimate, happy vibes. Came for dinner and really enjoyed the experience. My partner and my first time trying Ethiopian food - it was delicious!

As an Ethiopian restaurant, it offers an authentic and delightful experience, highly rated for its food and service.
The main dish, Beyayennatou, was tasty and generously portioned, perfect for group dining. The staff's warm and friendly service made the overall experience that much better.
Note that the restaurant's small size could be a drawback for large groups (over 10). Otherwise, the cozy space was a positive.
Overall, exceptional food and service make it a great choice that I would recommend to others.

Wonderful food. Welcoming hosts. We'd never had Ethiopian food before and it was a delicious surprise. We had the vegetarian platter, as my brother is vegetarian and it was his birthday. Also had falafel, which were the best I've ever eaten. You can see everything is homemade and it tastes amazing.

I would say we had the best dinner of our stay in the South of France. The duck was amazing, and the truffle pasta was simply scrumptious. We will definitely visit again in the future. Highly recommended! It’s also very cosy.

Le Vingt4 was a wonderful surprise in the heart of Nice.
The dishes were carefully prepared and elegantly plated, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout the evening. A great address for anyone looking for refined French cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere.
The chocolate mousse was equally impressive: smooth, intense, and beautifully presented.
Highly recommended!

The only complaint is that we couldn’t stop eating. The food was perfection on a plate, the price was great for food and wine. The wine selection is amazing but we stayed with the house wine and were not disappointed. Make a reservation, the restaurant has limited seating.

An exceptional dining experience in every sense. This is truly one of the finest restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. Every dish reflects meticulous attention to detail—from the presentation to the balance of flavors. Even the temperature of each plate is carefully maintained, which really highlights the kitchen’s precision.
The service is excellent—fast, professional, and genuinely attentive. The staff are polite and well-trained, creating a very comfortable and refined atmosphere.
The only “downside,” if anything, is that the food is so good it’s hard to stop eating.
Overall, a memorable experience that I would gladly repeat and recommend.

Authentic French food at this chainring place with a great wine list. The staff is very accommodating and always happy to give suggestions for wine pairings with your meal.
Oh the panna cotta is a must try 😍
Essential Tips for Dining Vegetarian in Nice
Navigating a city known for its meat and seafood traditions can feel daunting, but with a little local knowledge, you will eat exceptionally well. The key is to understand how French menus are structured and where to look for the hidden vegetable-centric gems. The following advice will help you make the most of your culinary exploration and avoid common pitfalls.
1). Learn to love the term “plat du jour”
Many traditional restaurants offer a daily special that is often vegetarian, even if the rest of the menu is not. Asking about the plat du jour can unlock a chef’s most creative dish, frequently built around whatever vegetables looked best at the market that morning. Do not be shy about asking if it can be prepared without meat.
2). Explore the Cours Saleya market in the morning
While not a restaurant, this famous market in Old Town is a masterclass in Niçoise produce. Many vendors sell prepared foods like socca, pissaladière, and stuffed vegetables. Grabbing a selection of these local specialties is a fantastic, budget-friendly way to enjoy an authentic vegetarian lunch with a view of the sea.
3). Do not ignore Lebanese and Italian influences
Nice is a cosmopolitan city with a significant Lebanese community and close ties to neighboring Italy. These cuisines are naturally rich in vegetarian options. Look for authentic Lebanese spots offering creamy hummus, smoky baba ghanoush, and fresh falafel, or Italian trattorias with house-made pasta and wood-fired vegetable pizzas.
4). Book ahead for dinner, especially on weekends
The most popular vegetarian-friendly spots in Nice are often small, family-run affairs with limited seating. While walk-ins are sometimes possible for lunch, securing a table for dinner is highly recommended. A quick phone call or online reservation will save you from wandering the streets hungry during peak season.
5). Embrace the “menu du marché”
Many forward-thinking chefs in Nice now offer a fixed-price menu based entirely on the market’s offerings. This is often the best value and the most exciting way to eat. These menus are designed to showcase vegetables at their peak and usually feature multiple courses that are either vegetarian or can be easily adapted.
The evolution of Nice’s dining scene means that vegetarian travelers no longer have to compromise on flavor, tradition, or experience. You can sit on a sun-drenched terrace, sip a glass of chilled rosé from Provence, and enjoy a meal that is both deeply satisfying and entirely plant-based. The city’s chefs have risen to the challenge, proving that the cuisine of the French Riviera is about so much more than just seafood and steak.
As you wander from the shimmering Baie des Anges to the pastel-hued streets of the Old Town, let your appetite guide you. The restaurants highlighted here represent the very best of what Nice has to offer, each bringing its own unique personality to the table. Bon appétit, or as they say in Niçard, bon apetis!
