12 Best Hotels Near Plaza Mayor Salamanca

Salamanca’s Plaza Mayor is widely considered one of the most beautiful public squares in Spain, if not all of Europe. Its golden sandstone facades, intricate baroque detailing, and lively arcades make it the undisputed heart of the city. Whether you are visiting for a weekend getaway, a university event, or a deeper exploration of Castile and León, staying near this iconic landmark places you at the center of the action.

Choosing the right accommodation, however, requires more than just looking for the closest dot on a map. The streets surrounding the Plaza are a labyrinth of historic buildings, pedestrianized lanes, and hidden courtyards, each offering a different atmosphere. From restored convents to sleek modern boutiques, the area provides a surprisingly diverse range of sleeping options for every budget.

Because the historic center is largely off-limits to non-resident traffic, selecting a hotel in this zone means you will be exploring the city primarily on foot. This is a massive advantage, as you can easily walk to the Old and New Cathedrals, the historic University buildings, and the Casa de las Conchas within minutes. You also have immediate access to the tapas bars and restaurants that spill out from the arcades late into the night.

When evaluating the best options, we have considered factors such as soundproofing, accessibility, historical charm, and modern amenities. A room facing the Plaza Mayor offers unbeatable views, but a room facing a quiet interior courtyard can provide a much more restful night’s sleep. The goal is to match the property to your specific travel style, whether you prioritize romance, history, or family convenience.

The following selection focuses on properties that consistently receive high marks for service, cleanliness, and location. They range from grand luxury establishments that have hosted dignitaries to intimate guesthouses that offer exceptional value. Each one places you within a short stroll of the Plaza Mayor’s illuminated arches.

We have also prioritized hotels that understand the needs of the modern traveler. You can expect reliable Wi-Fi, comfortable bedding, and staff who are knowledgeable about local dining reservations and cultural schedules. In a city as historic as Salamanca, the balance between preserving the past and providing contemporary comfort is key.

Below, you will find our curated list of the top hotels near Plaza Mayor Salamanca, designed to help you find the perfect base for your Castilian adventure.

We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is located in the plaza - 2nd floor. Our room was overlooking the backside - at the market rather than the plaza. It was very convenient to be able to take a break after a long day before heading to our late night dinner at the plaza, and head back home with only a few steps. There was a laundromat within short two blocks as well, which worked perfect for us. The staff was excellent -I gave four stars only because we did not need much help - the staff was very pleasant and we felt welcomed and safe during our two night stay!
Fred Yopp★★★★★
Excellent hotel in the heart of Salamanca. We just spent 7 nights here and the experience was wonderful. The staff is attentive and accommodating. The rooms are beautiful and the cleaning staff are excellent. Close to everything in Salamanca. Book with confidence and enjoy your stay.
Carmine Yevoli★★★★★
Clean Clean Clean.. and practically brand new. Make sure to get a room on the plaza side, you won’t be disappointed.. very small , only 10 rooms but that makes it quiet. Staff was nice, entrance is a tiny door on the plaza side.. if you’re talking you’ll walk right by it. Very discreet.
D. Matarazzo★★★★★
They are very attentive to needs of customers. They saw that I eat fruit , so they left plates, knives, forks in my room next day, along with a big bottles of water.
Columbus OH★★★★☆
The location is excellent—part of Plaza Mayor, often called the most beautiful city square in Spain. At night, the building sparkles like a piece of fine jewelry, and the views are truly spectacular. That said, the location can also be a drawback. While the night was quiet, I was woken early in the morning by cafes and restaurants setting up their outdoor seating at daybreak, like a hundred horses galloping by. The front desk staff, in contrast to other hotels we visited on our trip, felt somewhat detached and less welcoming. We absolutely loved Salamanca for its history, architecture, and the evening ambience in the Old Town. We would love to return, but we probably won’t stay at this hotel again.

We stayed at this hotel for about 2 nights in April 2026. We got room 401 and instead of getting a room with a king-size bed, we got two beds pushed together, which is not a great solution in my opinion. The room was decent with neutral colors, wooden flooring, a desk with a complementary bottle of water upon check in, a large TV on the wall and a decent wardrobe. There was light coming in from a window, but the view was just to a courtyard. The bathroom was tiled in sand-stone colors (like many of the buildings in Salamanca) and the shower area was quite good. Breakfast was served in the basement and had a good spread of savory and sweet items. The service in the hotel was good, but the best part is of course the location. Plaza Mayor is basically around the corner and it is easy to walk around the city center from the hotel! All in all, I would not mind staying at this hotel again if I return to Salamanca.
Yuri Zivago★★★★☆
We selected it because of the location. You are 2 minutes walking from the most beautiful 'Plaza Major' of the entire Spain. The room was clean. Only remark: bad insonorisation. You can hear everything from close-by rooms. Breakfast was top. It is a good option for visiting Salamanca.
Orlando Monge★★★★★
We enjoyed our time at the Catalonia Salamanca. The staff was accommodating, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was top notch, and the rooms clean and comfortable. The Catalonia location is the best at close proximity to the historic center, restaurants, and shopping. We are looking forward to returning soon and staying at the Catalonia Salamanca.
Alan Gardiner★★★★☆
Excellent as usual but disappointing that the air conditioning in the hotel hadn't been switched on yet, despite unseasonally hot weather in April.
Shatha Baeshana★★★★☆
Our stay was thoroughly enjoyable, marked by the exceptional helpfulness and professionalism of the staff throughout our visit. The hotel provides a range of good facilities and maintains a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes guests feel at ease. While the rooms were comfortable and well-maintained, a few minor renovations would further elevate the overall experience, ensuring an even greater level of comfort and satisfaction. The reception staff were particularly outstanding during our stopover. They went above and beyond, taking the time to listen to our needs and offering thoughtful, personalized solutions to ensure our stay was as pleasant as possible. Their genuine care and commitment to delivering a high-quality customer experience truly stood out. Overall, this hotel offers an excellent balance of service, comfort, and location. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Salamanca and look forward to returning in the future.

Amazing hotel. Walking distance to everything . 30 bars and restaurants steps away. I'd pass on the breakfast, not a great value. Lobed the bed and comforter. Aircon worked great. Spacious. Great value.
Francis Meijer★☆☆☆☆
Location in the center of Salamanca is perfect BUT the noise from the streets is very very loud untill appr 5 in the morning and at 6 the city cleaners start. Lady at the reception did not respond at our complaint beside saying “I am sorry”. Room was outdated, bed was fine. Scrambled eggs at breakfast tasted as if they were made the day before. Awfull hotel and the rating at Booking is based on ……? Price 145 for the night was in no relation to the poor quality and noise during the night
Mark Owen★★☆☆☆
We selected this hotel because we had a car full of belongings and they advertise parking. On arrival we were told all of their 6 car parking spaces were occupied (shock) and we'd need to park elsewhere. Since we had a car full of stuff and needed a secure place it cost 20 euros for a night and had a walk back to the hotel. We were also shocked to have been charged 37 euros for our dog for a single night. Sure, we expect a small fee for having a pet, but never encountered anything approaching that kind of cost. All in all we had to fork out an extra 57 euros on arrival for a 1 night stay.
Bogdan Ivanichev★★☆☆☆
he hotel is located in the center of the historic district, on a beautiful square surrounded by old buildings. This has its advantages, as all the historical landmarks are within walking distance, but also its downsides—it’s very difficult to access by car. The hotel description mentioned that parking was available, but unfortunately, it was completely full, so we had to leave our car in the nearest covered parking lot. And let’s not forget that this is Spain, where things can easily be stolen from your car. Pros: The room was beautifully decorated in a classic style, with a very nice and clean bathroom. Overall, the room was spotless and had a pleasant scent. Cons: Upon check-in, we were charged an additional fee of €30 for bringing a small dog into the room. Breakfast was not included in the price, so we paid €14 per person—and we were disappointed. The selection was extremely limited: just a couple of types of cheese and salami, barely any vegetables, scrambled eggs, and ice-cold boiled eggs. If you’re planning to stay at this hotel, skip the breakfast—it’s a waste of money. For just €5 more, you can eat somewhere else, where the food will be 100 times tastier, more filling, and healthier. When we went to bed, we noticed a pair of earplugs on the bedside table. At first, I didn’t understand why they were there, since hotels rarely provide them. But by midnight, it became clear. Right below the hotel, there are bars and clubs. People drink, party, and talk loudly until morning, so getting a good night’s sleep is unlikely. Verdict: Is this hotel worth the money, or should you look for something else? Definitely the second option.
Darren★☆☆☆☆
AVOID IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP! There is so, so much noise outside and around this hotel. This went on constantly until about 6:30am. And this was midweek! A truly terrible experience.

Fantastic value for money! Had a great night's sleep there while on the road.

Perfect location in the centre for exploring the city. Friendly welcome. Nothing spectacular but a comfortable room with everything we needed. Blackout blinds and soundproofing for a very good night's sleep despite it being fiesta time. Simple shower with complimentary shampoo and shower gel, hairdryer provided, TV, comfortable beds, air conditioning, fresh towels and beds made each morning. Bars, cafes and places for breakfast just downstairs, outside. Easy walking distance to everything. Lift and stairs.
Rob English★★★★★
Ideal location! Comfortable and efficient room! Great AC and hot water! Super cleaning staff! I loved my stay here! Lift is a plus! Breakfast is at a Super Duper cafe next door!
Leonor Cadena★☆☆☆☆
We reserved based on the pictures and paid for two nights. The rooms are not as depicted, they are small and old and dark the building has a musky smell. To enter the building people have to go up a flight of stairs. It is a hostel not a hotel. The receptionist Marina was outstanding and really went above and beyond to help us. She offered us other rooms but they were all the same. The management refused to give us any refund and we lost payment for both nights.

I had a great stay at Hospedium Plaza Mayor. The rooms are nice and you cannot beat the location!!! The staff were incredibly friendly and assisted me to and from the nearby secure parking area.

Great little hotel in the center of Everything! A 30 second walk from Plaza Meyor and bars and cafes. Grocery around the corner. Easy to find, and nice welcome by desk agent. Rooms small but comfortable with all expected amenities. Would stay again, though night life is definitely not quiet.
Brian★☆☆☆☆
If I could give it less than a one star rating it would be at -5. We reserved this hotel for six nights for a client who cancelled only a couple of days before their stay. We notified the hotel as soon as we found out about the cancellation. I can understand a one or two night fee for late cancellation, but they went ahead and charged the entire six nights. Edit in response to the owner: Policies are written and rewritten by the business. Just because it is a policy does not make it right.
Samandrhonda Mojel★★★★☆
Great place to stay apart from our room being under a stairway and close to the lift with all the associated noise. Great staff and a breakfast of variety.
Fredrick Arnold★☆☆☆☆
I don't have the patience to write up a long story about how miserable this has been for us, but we chose this hotel specifically because it offered parking, and we weren't informed until we were on our way that they actually don't have parking. Once we finally found a place for our vehicle and marched across the city with our luggage, we were less than delighted to find our room smells like animal urine, does not match the photos on our booking of a split level room with a seating area, and the tv from the adjoining room is clearly audible here in our room nearing midnight. On top of this, despite the listing saying free breakfast, the receptionist charged us additional fees. I haven't been this disappointed in an accommodation in a long time.
Eva Santos★★★★★
Staff is very nice, rooms are a bit small but very clean. Everyone we had any interaction with was very nice, reception was exceptional. Has a small but very cozy terrace on the last floor of the hotel, good for a bit of rest and to catch a bit of sun while sitting down. Breakfast is also good. You just have to book the time you wanna go because it is quite a small room but it did not bother us at all. If breakfast is not included, it has an extra cost of 10€ which I find fair for the breakfast itself.

We had a fabulous room for 2 nights. Great to rest while walking the Camino. The location is perfect. Staff are wonderful. We even had a 6:00am Picnic prepared for us, as we needed to depart on our walk to Santiago. That’s was great. Highly recommend.
Lucius Seneca★★★★☆
Good value for the price I paid. If I had to pay more, I would feel differently. Tip: avoid the rooms with a double bed. Because of the old building, those rooms are so slanted they actually make you dizzy. Fun fact: the hotel is housed in an old manor house known as Casa de la Pizarra, just 20 steps from the cathedral door, which is why it has so much historic charm but also those crooked floors.
Jim J.★★★★☆
Nice well furnished single room in a great location. Room space is extremely small. There is no place for one to pull the chair out far enough to sit at the table. Location is great right outside the main plaza
Amanda Fermiano★★☆☆☆
The most overpriced hotel that o ever stayed according to what it offers! The room is like a whole, so small, actually I took a look, almost all the rooms are like that, barely a window to see the light of the day, the bathrooms need a review, and the staff I felt I was doing a favor staying there! The breakfast is good, and has a good view, the only good thing! The location is prettt good, in the heart of Salamanca, so if you don’t mind paying only for the location, this is the place!!
Helene Ouimet★★★★☆
Great hotel, great breakfast with lots of choice, mattresses and pillows were fine. The only thing i would suggest to the hotel is to give access to a/c anytime of year , not all customers needs are the same. Know that this hotel is situated right at the Plaza Mayor therefore noisy until early hours of the morning.

Excellent location, comfortable bed, very clean. It was incredibly quiet for its central location and I slept very well. The service was excellent, professional, and responsive; I felt like they cared about me and my needs. I stayed here alone and always felt safe. There is a supermarket around the corner, as well as shops, restaurants, and the Plaza Mayor. I will definitely stay here again!

Highly recommended hotel, clean and great This is really a real bargain - you get so much value for money My mom was celebrating a birthday and I asked them to upgrade to a room with a view. When we got to the hotel we were upgraded to a large unit with an amazing view and a balcony. The hotel is very clean, clean and relaxed The hotel is beautifully decorated The staff is very pleasant and helpful in any matter and request There is parking very close to the hotel - very convenient and cheap There is a storage room The location is very central - but at the same time intimate and quiet on a charming green square Highly recommend I will definitely be back again! Thank you very much! Thank you so much dear Rosa for the warm and personal treatment.
Doreen Moores★★★★★
Absolutely perfect for our one night stay. Everything you could need. Kitchenette was well fitted, free tea, coffee & toiletries were appreciated. Fantastic location next to Plaza Mayor. Excellent value for money ❤️
João Silva★☆☆☆☆
BE AWARE! We had a booked trip to Spain and during our trip we planned to stay here. My wife was pregnant and we had a pregnancy problem with report, so we sent emails to all the booked hotels. In all of them the reservations were cancelled or modified. THIS WAS THE ONLY HOTEL THAT DIDN'T ALLOW US TO MODIFY THE RESERVATION, NOT EVEN WITH A PREGNANCY PROBLEM. I told them I didn't want to cancel, just modify the reservation dates. Sent them the request through booking and they rejected. So as said, be aware that this hotel is run by people that prefer to take cancellation money, then be open to modify a reservation based on a reported pregnancy problem. When booking this hotel think twice if they really deserve it.
S.C★☆☆☆☆
Worst check in experience ever! Ask them about parking, no reply. Told them about arrival time, no reply. Upon arrival, did not answer the call. Tried again and finally picked up and did NOT speak English. Fortunately she sent me the code via message later on, BUT the could have done this way ahead!

Wow, what a find. Simply by another hotel's stuff up we headed over to Hotel Rua and could not have been more happy. We arrived on the day of the great European blackout and things everywhere were a little crazy. However, we were greeted with a calm friendly smile and it was a welcome sight. The staff here are absolutely amazing and helped us out with many great tips, from food to bars and sightseeing around the area. It's perfectly located for exploring and quiet and comfy for a good night's rest. We also had an amazing view of a local church and spanning out over the snow capped mountains. Don't miss this one👍👍
Bry Spider★★★★☆
Average old hotel with great location, good ac and running water , excellent breakfast but customer service lacks some and does NOT have parking, they send you to park at colon parking which will cost you 20 euros x night. In my opinion pay a little more and get something with parking included.
Kanwal Khehra★★★★★
Amazing hotel! I would highly recommend! The staff are amazing especially Adrianna at the reception. She DEFINITELY helped make our stay very memorable, amazing service and recommendations! She is a great person, definitely deserves a raise!!! Best location you could have visiting Salamanca, a lot of restaurants, bars, and shops all-around! I would go again just because of the staff, thank you again Adrianna, you are amazing and a real gem of an employee in a gem of a city!

Excellent, loved my room, comfortable and very well taken care of. Atmosphere was great, staff was very friendly and helpful; they made you feel at home. Rate was very reasonable to be located in a magnificent area of Salamanca (historic/ monumental area ) so close to the different academic buildings and other historic monuments.

Stayed for a couple of days in Salamanca, and this place is just LOVELY! I booked the studio and it’s spacious enough for a family of 3-4. There’s also a small kitchen where you can cook just like you’re at home. And the views, mama mia.. A-MAZING! Will definitely stay here again. Kudos as well to the friendly staff.
Saravanan G★★★★★
This is easily one of the best places we’ve stayed! It was incredibly clean, well-organized, and despite the compact size, the layout worked perfectly for our group of four. The location is unbeatable—just 100 meters from the center. Most importantly, the staff were courteous and helpful; even though we arrived at midnight, they ensured everything was ready for us, including parking!!
Alex Sanchez★★★★★
Super nice hotel. One minute walk from plaza mayor so super convenient. Rooms are spacious, clean and super nice, kitchen included. The director is a great local lady, very friendly and eager for you to go out an make the most of the city. She gave oir kids a scavenger hunt game to look for specific figures at the local monuments, they loved it and turned out to be super engaging for them, then they got a price whem complete. We wpuld return for sure
Amaly Gillig★★★★★
We stayed in a great little suite for three nights for my family of 3. Perfect location - central and just outside of Plaza Mayor in its own cute plaza, but not the crazy noise and crowd level of Pl Mayor. The ladies who ran the front desk couldn't have been nicer - even setting my son up with a cute cultural scavenger hunt in the city. The room was spotless, the beds were comfy, and the kitchenette was perfect for our needs. We enjoyed taking our own snacks to the shared rooftop area (also snacks available for reasonable purchase). Would definitely recommend if you're looking for something comfortable, walkable, clean, and reasonably priced.

We stayed for 6 nights at this hostal and to say it was horrible is just the start. The room was dirty, with dust on the floor and the walls had what looked like water damage. The beds were very uncomfortable as I could feel the springs. There was also no AC. There was only an old fan that did almost nothing in 40°c weather. The bathroom was very tiny with the shower being 0.36m² which is almost no space to move around. There were also some moldy spots in the bathroom. It did say that there were stairs to get to the rooms, but these stairs were very steep and it was difficult/dangerous to go up and down. There were some places where there was also no railing and where you had to watch your head because of the ceiling when going up. To say the least, even though the price looks atractive for this location, it is not worth it at all.
Hans Kobes★★★★★
Really cheap and good place to stay when you’re in Salamanca! The lady at the reception was really helpful. Rooms are simple but everything functions, really good value for what you pay. The view over Plaza Mayor was amazing!
Alain Duckers★★★★★
There is no better hotel for this price point. The Location is simply unmatched, right above plaza mayor in the center of the city. The employees are lovely and very attentive to help you out and about the city. They offer private, indoor, closed-off, camera guarded parking (€20 extra) 1min walk from the hotel. which is great if you are traveling with a car full of stuff. Showers are not the best I've ever had. But it's clean and does the job! Beds are not the best, but they're fine for their price. Rooms are spacious enough for an extra kid, clean as well. All in all easy 5 stars. Price/quality is superb. Thanks guys!
Mirjam Schut★★★★★
Spacious clean room with a spectacular view on the Plaza Mayor. Shared bathroom was clean. David was really friendly in explaining us what there was to see and where we could eat. Recommendable
Luis Muñiz★☆☆☆☆
The worst night of our trip with the bonus overall feeling of getting ripped off. Shared bathrooms for several rooms, announced views and you get ridiculous sights to some back alley. Pets barely tolerated, though they advertise to be pet friendly. The beds are horrible, some of us could not sleep at all. No elevator, ok, but the stairs are medieval style hard to climb. 3 stories to get to your room. They advertise to be a Hotel, but really, it's a boardinghouse. We never would have booked a night there.

The hotel is very shabby, there were no available parking place, they billed a quite large amount for a dog, compared to the price of the stay. It is not a 4 star accommodation.
Ivan Hernandez★☆☆☆☆
They will tell you the rooms have AC, they have AC vents, and AC controls, but the AC is a fan. We complained to the staff who found nothing with the AC. Be warned.
Felicia Newington★★★★☆
We were in the ‘cheap seats’ on the top floor so I guess that’s why it was such good value. Very nice foyer and breakfast room. Large, airy bedroom. Comfortable single beds. Modern bathroom. We found free street parking 15 minutes walk away. Parking at the hotel cannot be reserved.
Mattia Deidda★☆☆☆☆
Absolutely terrible experience. This is supposed to be a 4-star hotel, but the reality is far from what’s shown on Booking.com. The room I was given looks nothing like the pictures — it feels like a bait-and-switch. Check-in was a disaster: I had to wait over 20 minutes because they only have one working computer at reception, despite having two staff members there (one of whom didn't seem to be doing anything at all). The process was painfully slow and disorganized. The room was advertised as having air conditioning, but the thermostat dial was broken. When I brought this up, I was told that it's not possible to change the temperature because the entire hotel is set to the same climate control. Then why is there a temperature dial in my room at all? This stay felt like a complete scam. The facilities don’t match the description, the service is slow and unprofessional, and the reception staff seriously need to get their act together. I would never recommend this place to anyone. My only luck is that I booked and paid in advance for just two days.
Darja Suna★☆☆☆☆
We booked Suite(2 rooms, 2 WC), but instead got double room with broken safe for 3 persons (which is against hotel policy)!!! As compensation - no charge for parking and dog. Poor breakfast and you'll find ants on cheese and meet plates! DO NOT go there!

Absolutely fantastic value for money. Right in the centre and dog friendly (8€ extra). Would definitely stay there again over the higher holidays priced alternatives. Rooms spotlessly clean and nice warm heating. Total with dog was 45€. Bargain.
Ali Yeteroglu★★★★☆
Very good location. Great value. Choose definitely if you are looking for solo price performance stay. It definitely exceeds the expectation considering the prices...
Steve Briggs★★★★★
Positives first. The room. Was clean, warm, plenty of decent towels, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom had everything you need. For the price absolute bargain. The negatives, the room was quite small,. Unfortunately because of the hard flooring, dispit trying to be quiet you could hear other guests going to their rooms. On the other hand dispit being really central there was very little noise for outside, even though it was new year's eve ( perhaps the worst night of the year to get a early night 😂😂). Getting to the hotel by car is a bit of a chore. I felt that to get near I had to drive through a pedestrian zone, unfortunately I can't speak Spanish so I wasn't sure what the signs said. Google takes you so far then you have turn down a side street to get to the hotel. The parking garage is scary to say the least. If you don't have a small car, aren't very competent, I'd give the hotel parking a miss. It's is super tight down there It seems every wall and pillar has had a rub at some point. Overall I'd definitely recommend Hostal Concejo. Great location at a very sensible price.

The hotel is incredibly conveniently located. This is very good, but it also results in a lot of noise throughout the night, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. The cleanliness was more than satisfactory and the service from the reception very good. The only thing missing from the rooms is a small fridge and a few more hangers. Suggested.

Tips for Choosing Your Stay Near Plaza Mayor Salamanca

Selecting a hotel in a historic center can be tricky, as the charm of the location sometimes comes with logistical caveats. To ensure your stay is as smooth as possible, we have compiled a few essential pieces of advice based on how the city operates and how the local hospitality industry is structured.

1. Understand the Traffic Restrictions
If you are arriving by car, you must contact your hotel before entering the historic center. Most streets are monitored by cameras, and unauthorized vehicles receive fines. Hotels typically provide instructions for accessing public parking lots or offer valet services. Driving directly to the front door is rarely an option.

2. Decide Between a View or Silence
A room with a balcony overlooking the Plaza Mayor is spectacular, but the square remains active until the early hours, especially on weekends. If you are a light sleeper, request an interior room or one facing a side street. Many hotels have invested in excellent double glazing, but it is worth asking specifically about noise insulation.

3. Check for Elevator Access
Many buildings near the Plaza are converted historical structures. While most mid-range and luxury hotels have elevators, some boutique guesthouses in older buildings may have steep staircases or small lifts. If you have mobility concerns or heavy luggage, verify the accessibility features before booking.

4. Consider the Season for Air Conditioning
Salamanca experiences hot summers and cold winters. While central heating is standard, not all historic buildings have powerful air conditioning. If you are traveling in July or August, prioritize hotels that specifically mention climate control in their room descriptions to ensure a comfortable night.

5. Book Dining Reservations Early
Staying in the center means you are competing with locals and tourists for tables at the best tapas bars. Ask your hotel concierge to book a table for you on the Plaza or in the nearby Van Dyck street area. They often have relationships with restaurants and can secure you a spot on a busy terrace.

The magic of Salamanca is best experienced by simply walking out of your hotel door and into the glow of the illuminated sandstone. By choosing a property that aligns with your need for quiet or your desire for a view, you set the stage for a memorable visit. The convenience of being steps away from the Plaza Mayor allows you to experience the square at different times of day, from the quiet morning light to the vibrant evening paseo.

Ultimately, the best hotel is the one that feels like a refuge after a long day of sightseeing. Whether you choose a lavish suite in a Renaissance palace or a minimalist room in a modern design hotel, the proximity to Salamanca’s beating heart ensures that the city’s history is always just outside your window.
