15 Best Boutique Hotels in Palma de Mallorca

Palma de Mallorca has evolved far beyond its reputation as a simple sun-and-sand destination. The capital of the Balearic Islands now stands as a beacon of Mediterranean sophistication, where centuries-old architecture houses some of Europe’s most compelling design-driven hospitality. Travelers arriving here are often surprised to find a city that balances the energy of a thriving local community with the serenity of hidden courtyards and sea-view terraces.

The city’s hotel scene reflects this duality with remarkable precision. From restored 16th-century palaces in the labyrinthine old town to minimalist retreats overlooking the marina, the range of boutique accommodations is genuinely exceptional. Each property offers a distinct interpretation of Mallorcan identity, whether through locally crafted furnishings, farm-to-table dining, or art collections that celebrate island heritage.

Staying in a boutique hotel in Palma means choosing intimacy over scale. You trade sprawling lobbies and crowded pools for personalized service, quieter common areas, and a sense of place that larger resorts often dilute. These smaller properties tend to occupy privileged positions within the city, placing you steps from tapas bars, independent boutiques, and cultural landmarks like La Seu Cathedral.

The old town, known locally as Casco Antiguo, is where many of the finest boutique addresses are concentrated. Narrow stone streets open unexpectedly into grand patios and shaded gardens, many of which remain invisible from the outside. This sense of discovery is part of the appeal; your hotel becomes a sanctuary from the midday crowds while keeping you connected to the city’s pulse.

For those drawn to the waterfront, the areas around Paseo Marítimo and Portixol offer a breezier alternative. Here, former fishermen’s houses and contemporary buildings face the Mediterranean, with easy access to seafront cycling paths and some of the city’s best seafood restaurants. The light is different here—softer in the morning, golden by evening—and it shapes the character of the hotels that line the shore.

What unites the best boutique hotels in Palma is an uncompromising attention to detail. Whether it is a hand-painted tile from a local workshop, a bespoke scent in the hallways, or a breakfast of ensaïmada and sobrasada from nearby producers, these properties understand that authenticity cannot be manufactured. They honor the island’s traditions while offering the modern comforts discerning travelers expect.

Choosing where to stay ultimately depends on the experience you seek. Some travelers prioritize historic grandeur and proximity to cultural sites; others want a rooftop pool and a view of the marina. The following selection highlights the most distinctive boutique hotels across the city, each chosen for its design integrity, service quality, and ability to deliver a memorable stay in Mallorca’s capital.

We stayed at Hotel Zhero for 5 days in Mallorca, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking — overlooking the beautiful water, with the city to the left. I loved waking up every morning to that view. It was truly one of the highlights of our trip and something I’ll never forget. The location is also perfect for exploring Mallorca. It’s an ideal base for sightseeing in the north, while still being a reasonable drive to the south, making it easy to explore different parts of the island. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our entire stay. One of the little details I especially loved was coming back to the hotel at the end of the night to find our room perfectly cleaned and refreshed. There was such a subtle, beautiful, fresh scent when walking in — such a simple touch, but it made the room feel so relaxing and inviting. Another huge plus was the free parking, both on the premises and behind the hotel, which made having a car and exploring Mallorca so much easier. Overall, we had the most incredible 5-day stay at Hotel Zhero. The stunning views, wonderful staff, perfect location, cleanliness, and thoughtful little touches made our trip unforgettable. I genuinely loved waking up there every morning and would happily stay again. A true 5-star experience!

Amazing experience. Not fancy, not too many people, simple but relaxing. Loved the staff, from the receptionists to the bar and even the cleaning ladies. The pool is a real nice place with a lot of shadow and comfortable places to stay. The room was great with an amazing view and it was the biggest tv I've ever seen in a hotel room. The only downside is not having an elevator. Simple but everything needed, great experience.
Jane Saville★★★★★
One of the best hotels we have stayed in purely because of the serene simplicity, superbly friendly and caring staff and vibe. The food was great quality as were the personal touches and furnishings. Only low level fairly minor refurbs required to doors and low level skirtings.

I began and ended my trip to Mallorca at Zhero Hotel. Returning after a week of cycling on the island, because of the wonderful staff, comfortable beds, great location, and funky vibe. I have appreciated the value and the warm hospitality. Highly recommend as a solo traveller.

Lovely spot outside Palma. Great value for money. Clean tidy. Breakfast was average nothing special. The pool is great but a putty it closes so early. Not a fan of the slippy wooden shower floor boards but rest of the room was great, lovely little balconies with views and staff are very accommodating. 15€ taxi to the center of Palma

Incredible hotel for the price. Great location. Tatiana was excellent at the front desk! Would highly recommend for a great local spot in the main center close to the old town. We had a rental car and we were nervous about parking but they recommended a local parking garage only a five minute walk away, and it was perfect. Would love to come back one day!

A Big Thank You to all the Team at Boutique Hotel Petit. Our stay here from may 18 - 22 was Amazing. The Staff are so helpful and friendly. The rooms were cleaned very well, everytime we got back from our day out, clean towels, coffee and bedding. Thank you again 💓

My recent experience at Hotel Petit Monti-Sión in Palma de Mallorca was exceptional. I rated my stay a perfect five stars across the board. The hotel maintained an impressive standard of cleanliness, and the service provided by the staff was both prompt and attentive. Additionally, the breakfast selection was outstanding. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a delightful stay in Mallorca.

Nice hotel down a quiet side street, close to centre with modern decor. Room was not ready when we arrived but was still ready early and cases waiting in room. Staff very friendly.

What a fantastic stay at Hotel Petit Monti-Sión! 🌟 The cleanliness was top-notch, and the staff were super friendly and quick to help with anything we needed. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from! I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Palma de Mallorca.

Worst breakfast you can ever imagine for such a pricy hotel. Never book it if you like some good food in the morning. There is only cheap ham and cheese. The fruit is very basic, and several are even rotten. And there is no vegetable section at all. I checked reviews before booking, apparently the good cheese, ham, and salmon only exist in summer, and they treated customers coming in winter like nothing. The hotel is so understaffed in the winter, and just make everything much worse.
Sergi Quingles★☆☆☆☆
WARNING — avoid this hotel. I was charged nearly €500 for a “no show” reservation I genuinely had no awareness of because their only confirmation email went to spam. Despite having all my contact details, they made zero attempt to contact me before charging the full amount. I immediately reached out, provided proof, and tried to resolve the issue reasonably. They ignored several emails and refused any refund or compromise. Completely unacceptable customer treatment. Book elsewhere.

Very Good Location right in the City Center, the Service was very good and the Breakfast was very tasty we would come again , The rooms were very noise tho, but very comfortable and clean
Michael Brown★★★★★
The Born Hotel is an old building with lots of character. It does not have a lift and the stairs can be challenging if you have mobility issues. My wife and I are in our early 70's and managed okay. Especially when we arrived the receptionist, Santi, told us to go to our room and he would bring our cases up within 5 minutes which he duly did. We had booked a basic double room, it had an entrance foyer with a large modern bathroom on one side and an average size bedroom on the other. The bed was very comfortable and the curtain shut out all light at night. It was very quiet with just a little noise from the adjoining bedroom in the morning but nothing that disturbed us. Breakfast was buffet style with a wide range of hot and cold food. You could sit inside or in the courtyard. The hotel is situated up a quiet side street some 50m from the central district of Palma with lots of restaurants and bars. It was the perfect location for our visit to Palma.
Martyn McNeill★★★★★
My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in August. We both thought the hotel was great. Firstly the location was great for everything. Right in the centre of Palma. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room we had was spacious and kept very clean. We found the breakfasts to be of a good quality and choice. The only slight downside is noise from the courtyard. However this would not stop us from coming back.

Only good thing about this place is the location. Close to beach and bus stop to palma centre. Rooms have a terrible foul smell of canal, and service is so disappointing. The reception looks like somebody’s kitchen table and the lift smells of damp mould. Save your money and sanity and book somewhere else. Orange juice at breakfast advertised as “fresh” when it tastes 5 days old sour and wrong. Bugs in breakfast bowls, and you have to pay for sunbed towls😭🤣🤣 i had to ask to have my bed sheets changed and when they were changed i came to the room to a bad mould damp smell, come to find it was the “clean sheets” for the price paid its not worth it. The only thing that we enjoyed was our sea view. I don’t blame the maids at all as they were so kind and lovely, the whole hotel just needs to be redone for it to be worth the price.
Frank Pardo★★★★☆
The service and location cannot be faulted. However the rooms leave a little to be desired, the rooms were not particularly well maintained and the TV in this day and age was poor and small. My biggest gripe though was the fact that they seem to change towels and top up the coffee and water daily but only make the beds every other day why? Also we had nothing but problems with our door lock which would not accept the cards we were originally given. I told them it was the lock that needed new batteries as the chambermaids and the reception master would not unlock it. They said they fixed it and gave us two more keys only for these not to work after one use, it was obvious to me that they had not replaced the batteries in the lock but I’ve given up now.
Luke Tepper★★★☆☆
I’ve only had positive experiences at this place, except for when I first arrived. The security guard tried to intimidate my friends and I, we were speaking quietly, but he yelled at us, stared us down, and continued for nearly 10 minutes. I would completely understand and even support that kind of response if we were being disrespectful, but that wasn’t the case in the slightest. I’ve never been treated that way by a hotel before—it was a very surprising and unwelcoming way to treat guests.
Eenya Winther★★★★★
We only spent a short time here - but it was absolutely amazing! The room was lovely with a beautiful balcony overlooking the ocean. When we first arrived, the beds were 2 twins next to each other but not attached. We asked if it was possible to have a Queen size bed, and within minutes the technicians came and attached the beds, followed by a housekeeper who changed the topper so that it became a complete Queen! Such amazing service. The ladies in the reception were also lovely, they even let us check out an hour later than scheduled completely free of charge. Also, the bar lady, Valentina, is such a sweet heart. Overall an amazing experience and we would definitely come back. Good vibes, 100% clean, OH and must mention that the room was equipped with an amazing stereo that you could easily connect to with bluetooth. For us it was the perfect place to stay, literally a minute walk from the beautiful beach too! Ps. Only thing I would probably not recommend is the restaurant - although lovely atmosphere and service, the food was not great. But one cannot have it all...
Elizabeth Rice Ramirez (ElizaRami)★★★★☆
Five stars for location, right on a very sandy beach, a large cala, with the nice pool overlooking the sea, and a little palapa for service right there. Pool wasn't crowded, mostly chairs were available. That part was delightful. And walking distance to the main road where there were many restaurants, bars etc, open pretty late. The hotel service was ok, but not overly friendly or informative. We checked in very late at night and had we not known things like "put the key card in the slot to turn on the lights" we would have been in the dark, so to speak. The daytime service was more friendly (called a cab for us etc). The restaurants were convenient and the food was pretty good, though pricey (breakfast buffet was really great, loved that!). The rooms.... very much in need of some updating and general maintenance. Some lights didn't work etc. The room was fine, clean enough. Nespresso in the room was nice, bottled water each day, cute basket with beach towels ready for us. The one thing that really bugged me was that we paid extra for Junior Suite Sea View, which would imply spacious (was same as most other rooms) and an actual Sea View. Below is a photo, but there was a huge palm tree right in front of our room, so while the sea was there, we couldn't see it directly from our balcony. We asked to move to a higher floor but they told us there were no rooms available. Had we been in one of the rooms next to us, the entire view would have been a giant mass of tree leaves (perhaps those are not "sea view", hope not!). We were disappointed because one thing I was looking forward to was sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine and watching the sea. Maybe we'd stay here again for the location, but we'd ensure our expectations were met regarding what room we stayed in.

I had such a beautiful stay at Belle Marivent Mediterranean Petit Hotel. The whole place has a very charming Mediterranean atmosphere and it feels incredibly cozy and relaxing from the moment you arrive. My room was spotless, stylish, and very comfortable. Everything was well maintained and thoughtfully designed which made the stay even more enjoyable. One of my favorite parts was the amazing cozy space on the top of the building. The rooftop pool area is absolutely perfect to relax, enjoy the sun, and take in the view. It is such a special spot that really makes the experience feel luxurious and peaceful at the same time. The staff were wonderful. Everyone was kind, welcoming, and always ready to help which made the stay feel very personal. The location is also great. There is a beautiful botanical garden just one minute away which is perfect for a peaceful walk, and the mall is also very close if you want to do some shopping or explore more of the area. Overall it was a lovely experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Palma.
Martina Višnjić★★★★★
We had a wonderful stay at Belle Marivent. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel with stylish, spotless, and very comfortable rooms. The overall atmosphere is warm, relaxing, and welcoming. What truly makes this hotel stand out is the exceptionally kind and attentive staff. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel genuinely welcome. We especially appreciated the thoughtful little touches, such as the welcome note, the complimentary hats, and the fans for guests. We really enjoyed our few days here and would happily stay at Belle Marivent again. Highly recommended!

Great boutique hotel to stay in close de Palma and amazing beaches! Staff is more than welcoming and helpful. Rooms are clean and modern and I really appreciated to have a balcony. The rooftop is great for morning coffee!

Their staff, Ivana is extremely extremely warm, helpful, accomplished, welcoming and so so so so kind. She was amazing throughout the stay. It was a delight staying here because of her, she told us the best Mallorca restaurants and spots. I really recommend this hotel because of staff like ivana, they make the stay so much better. Thank you to ivana. However one of their morning staff was very rude. 3 5.0/5
Brendan Pickell★★★★★
I have been fortunate enough to travel to many countries and stay in countless hotels, and I can honestly say that Belle Marivent Boutique Hotel stands out as one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had. The hotel itself is beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly located, but what truly made our stay exceptional was the people, especially Pablo at reception. Pablo is, without question, one of the best hospitality professionals I have ever encountered. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, he consistently went above and beyond. Every recommendation he gave, whether it was restaurants, beaches, transportation, or local advice, was spot on. No matter what we asked, he always had an answer ready, and he delivered it with genuine kindness, professionalism, and enthusiasm. What impressed me most was that I wasn’t the only guest who noticed. During our stay, I overheard other guests complimenting Pablo and talking about how helpful he had been. That says everything. Exceptional service isn’t just noticed by one person. It’s something everyone experiences. In an industry where great customer service can completely shape a trip, Pablo is the kind of employee every hotel hopes to have. If there is any opportunity for him to be recognized, rewarded, or promoted, I sincerely hope this review contributes to that conversation. He deserves it. Thank you to the entire Belle Marivent team for an unforgettable stay. Mallorca was already an incredible destination, but your hospitality made it even more special. We will absolutely recommend this hotel to friends and family, and if we ever return to Mallorca, there is no question where we’ll be staying.

Our stay at Hotel Basilica was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, Angie and Javier made us feel so welcome. They were incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive throughout our entire stay, and their hospitality truly made our experience special. The hotel itself was beautiful and comfortable, and our room was so lovely that it honestly made us not want to go out and explore! Everything was clean, relaxing, and inviting, making it feel like a home away from home. Angie and Javier went above and beyond to make us feel special. They even treated us to free drinks and gave my girlfriend a lovely gift, which was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture. Their kindness and personal touches made us feel genuinely appreciated. Their recommendations and suggestions for restaurants and places to visit were also fantastic. Every recommendation we followed turned out to be a great choice and helped us enjoy the area even more. It was clear that they really cared about making sure we had the best possible experience. A huge thank you to Angie and Javier for their warmth, kindness, and excellent service. They truly made our stay unforgettable. We would absolutely stay at Hotel Basilica again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, comfortable hotel with exceptional staff who genuinely go the extra mile!

This is the BEST hotel you can stay in mallorca !!!! ❤️🙌🏻 I don’t think I’ll find another experience quite like it. From the moment we arrived, the staff was very very very kind !!!! They welcomed us with a drink and coffee, and helped us out multiple times during our stay. Angie and Javier in particular were some of the kindest, most genuinely friendly people I’ve met they even gave us great recommendations for traditional local food, and every suggestion was the best ! The hotel itself is stunning beautifully designed and clean! We stayed in the basic room, and even that exceeded expectations. Housekeeping cleaned it thoroughly every single day, restocked the fridge with a fresh bottle of premium water, beers, and orange juice, and the bed linens were always soft, and smelled amazing. The bathroom was fully stocked with high-quality soap, shampoo, and conditioner everything that a woman needs in vacation ! The rooftop pool was the cherry on top, with the most incredible view overlooking the town right next to the Basilica, and they even provided pool towels free of charge. Honestly, I’d go back to Palma just to stay here again. Highly, highly recommend.

We had a fabulous 4 night mother-and-daughter break at this wonderful boutique hotel in Palma and couldn't have been happier with our stay. From the moment we arrived, all the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and attentive. Nothing was ever too much trouble and their warm hospitality made our stay feel truly special. Breakfast each morning was excellent, especially the omelettes. One of the highlights was the rooftop terrace and pool area, where we spent every afternoon relaxing. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable with a large bathroom and a private sun terrace. Overall, I couldn't fault our stay. It was the perfect getaway and we left feeling relaxed and refreshed. We would absolutely love to return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely hotel.

We stayed at Basilica during the week of our wedding and truly had the best stay. We had both of the suites which are on the third floor and the rooms are so spacious and beautiful. The whole team were so accommodating for all our requests, and went the extra mile to make sure our stay was perfect. It made our wedding week very special. This was our third stay, and we love the family feel, the breakfast is always lovely and we love the outdoor courtyard and rooftop pool! Special thanks to Javier and Luca who went above and beyond for us. We’ll be back soon!
Annie Caplan★★★★★
Hotel Basilica was an absolute dream come true. Charming, luxurious, and beautifully designed, it exceeded every expectation. We loved the location, the decor, and especially the staff, who were incredibly friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. It was our first time in Mallorca, and we arrived after dark, so we couldn't see much of the surroundings. The next morning, however, the moment we stepped outside, we were completely in awe of the beauty of the area. The rooftop pool was the perfect place to relax and offered the most incredible views. Breakfast was excellent, and the hotel's location made it easy to explore Palma while also serving as an ideal home base for visiting other towns around Mallorca. We were genuinely sad to leave and move on to our next destination, but I was so grateful that I had decided to extend our stay by an extra day before arriving. If anything, I wish we had stayed even longer. We will be back!

Great place to stay in the old town minutes from the main street and bars but quiet. Has everything you need including leaving your baggage if you come early or you are leaving late which is great. Rooms are clean and well equipped with basic necessities. I can only suggest to clarify the check in process which is online and link comes in a message, just list that key will be in that check in the ease people. Otherwise highly recommend!

Lots to do and see with lovely tapas bars restaurants ice cream shops you won't be disappointed
Veronica Pulimeno★★★☆☆
The place itself has a lovely design and a lot of potential, with a nice, modern style and a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, maintenance was a real letdown. Several walls in the room showed clear signs of damp and mould near the floor, with peeling paint and stained patches, and there was a noticeable musty smell throughout the room, which isn't what you expect when you book a stay like this. The biggest disappointment was the plunge pool, which was one of the main reasons we chose this accommodation. It was dirty, with debris floating in the water and stains on the tiles, so we couldn't use it at all during our stay. It's a shame, because with proper cleaning and some maintenance this could be a really special spot. As it is, I can't recommend it until these issues are fixed.

My husband and I recently had a glorious stay at Palacio ca sa Galesa. If you are looking for a blend of historic grandeur and contemporary sophistication, this is the place. The property itself is absolutely gorgeous. It’s a beautifully renovated Palacio that manages to honor its history while embracing a modern twist. We loved the curated selection of art pieces, the impressive collection of art books, and the high-end furniture found throughout the halls. It felt more like staying in a private, lived-in gallery than a traditional hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive; we felt genuinely looked after throughout our entire stay. A special mention must go to André, the fabulous chef. Not only was the breakfast the most delicious we’ve had in a long time, but the chef’s personality made our morning even better—friendly, warm, and highly professional. We particularly enjoyed dining in the hidden gem of a patio, which provided a serene and beautiful start to our day. Also, the rooftop is an absolute «  must ». It offers stunning views over the Cathedral and the Mediterranean Sea. It’s the perfect spot to take in the beauty of Palma from above. We left feeling refreshed and incredibly happy. We cannot recommend this stunning Palacio enough for anyone looking for a soulful, luxurious escape.

An absolutely wonderful hotel! The service is the best I've ever experienced and the location is phenomenal! It's a short walk to shops, restaurants, the cathedral, and the old town's city walls where you can walk along the ramparts and soak in the view of Palma's marina. The breakfast is also hands down the best I've ever had too! They have a chef that prepares everything to order from scratch, and he is amazing!
John Typaldos★★★★★
The Palacio was an amazing hotel experience. From the incredible staff who were there for anything we needed, to the rooftop with views of the cathedral , the deluxe spa and the location was an excellent base to explore Palma old town and the broader area. We are so grateful to the staff for our wonderful stay and look forward to returning.

This hotel is practically right next to the cathedral, and you can walk to the downtown shops! The service is wonderful, and the rooms are fantastic and spacious! The best part is the cuisine, featuring a Brazilian chef! An unforgettable experience!

Casa Roca was absolutely amazing. It’s one of those places that completely exceeds expectations, a perfectly designed boutique hotel with the comfort and privacy of apartment-style living, but even better than many five-star hotels. The room was so clean, spacious, elegant and beautifully designed, with so much attention to detail. Everything you could possibly need was provided, and the quality was exceptional, down to the appliances. The staff were so beautiful and lovely. It made us want to stay here forever! The technology for accessing the property and rooms was seamless and genuinely impressive. Everything felt so professional, well thought-out and effortless from start to finish. And the best part is the location - it was absolutely perfect for exploring Palma and being right in the heart of everything. The only thing I would say - is some fitness facilities would have made our stay even better, but overall, I honestly couldn’t fault Casa Roca. Beautiful, luxurious, incredibly well designed and exceptionally comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it!
Diana Diminenco★★★★★
Casa Roca exceeded all of our expectations. The location is perfect for exploring Palma and the surrounding areas. What truly made our stay exceptional was the incredible staff. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. They even created a personalized itinerary with recommendations for charming towns to visit around the island and wonderful restaurants to experience, which made our trip even more memorable. The beautiful historic building and the thoughtfully remodeled units made our stay even more enjoyable. If you are looking for outstanding service, a fantastic location, and beautiful accommodations full of character, Casa Roca is an excellent choice. We will definitely be back.
Emily Wilkins★★★★☆
We stayed at Casa Roca Palma from 2nd–5th July for my best friend's hen do, and while the hotel itself is beautiful, our overall experience was let down by poor customer service and how our booking issue was handled. We originally booked a two-bedroom apartment in April via Booking.com. The booking was confirmed by Maria, and when I later contacted her in May with some questions, she initially told me we had booked two separate rooms. I sent her our confirmation email showing we had booked the two-bedroom apartment, and she apologised and confirmed everything was correct. Unfortunately, when we arrived on 2nd July, I received WhatsApp check-in details for two separate rooms instead of the apartment. To make matters worse, the entry codes didn't work, and we struggled to contact anyone. Eventually, a nearby shop worker managed to find a member of staff for us. We explained that we had specifically chosen Casa Roca because the apartment would allow all four of us to stay together for the hen weekend. We were asked to go for lunch while they tried to resolve the issue. When we returned, nothing had changed, and we were simply told the apartment was no longer available because it had been allocated to another guest with a longer stay, despite our booking having been confirmed months earlier. We had no option but to accept two separate rooms, which were clearly not equivalent despite being told they were. One room was noticeably larger and of a higher standard than the other, something that was later reinforced when we were quoted different late check-out prices (€325 for one room and €305 for the other). The hotel left a bottle of wine and a bottle of brut in the rooms, but this appears to be a standard welcome gift given to all guests rather than any gesture to acknowledge what had happened. We made it clear that we hoped the hotel would do something to compensate us for the inconvenience, but throughout our three-night stay nothing was offered. Communication was also disappointing. Reception rarely answered the phone, and WhatsApp responses were often very slow. On our final day, we asked if it would be possible to keep the rooms until the evening as our flight wasn't until 10pm. Given the circumstances, I felt a complimentary late check-out would have been a reasonable gesture. After discussing it with the team, we were eventually told we could keep the rooms free of charge—but only if we agreed to leave a five-star Google review. That left a very sour taste and is the main reason I'm writing this honest review instead. I want to be fair because the hotel itself is genuinely lovely. It's beautifully designed, the rooms are stylish and comfortable, and the location is fantastic. Had our booking gone as planned, I'm sure we would have had a wonderful stay. However, what really matters in hospitality is how problems are handled when they arise. Mistakes happen, but there was very little ownership of the situation, very little communication, and almost no meaningful effort to make things right after our confirmed apartment booking was lost. We booked the apartment because it offered shared living space, a kitchen and a private roof terrace—facilities that were an important part of our hen weekend and which two separate hotel rooms simply couldn't replace. Casa Roca has so much potential, but as someone who has worked in hospitality, I believe the customer service needs significant improvement. A beautiful hotel alone isn't enough; guests remember how they are treated when things go wrong.

This hotel is not just a place to stay, it’s an experience. Starting from architecture through interior design, furniture, scent. Great hospitality and extremely helpful staff. We were impressed the second we crossed the entrance door. Besides of great rooms and staff, breakfast was amazing. In the last floor there’s great terrace with jacuzzi. Location - 10 meters from Main Street with the shops, few minutes walk from main touristic places. We travel a lot, however that was the most impressive hotel we visited so far. It’s giving the vibe of Great Gatsby or Grand Budapest Hotel.

Our stay at Casa Roca was nothing short of magical. The Art Deco charm of the place creates such a unique, sophisticated atmosphere. We tried different local wines from the wine machine and all of them were delish. Mallorcan breakfast was a highlight! always fresh and different every morning. Staff was incredible, their kind service made us feel truly special, nothing was too much trouble for them. It is the perfect romantic escape for any couple, highly recommended and definitely we will come back!

A very well-located hotel - close to the beach, the airport, and restaurants! It is a very simple and the rooms are very small, but the staff were excellent, kind and attentive. It was a very affordable hotel, and for the price and location, it's a good deal. If you're looking for a budget option, this is pretty great! The A/C in the hotel is outdated and doesn't keep up with the heat. We had it on maximum and it kept the room a bit cooler than the outside, but it is very far from being "cool" by any means. We ended up going to the mall and purchasing a $25EURO fan that helped us sleep through the night.

The best thing about this hotel (only 2!): - Vicitity to the beach (1min by foot) - Friendly employees Neutral: - Cleanliness Now the bad part: - Very small rooms (if you have 2 luggages, good luck opening them together) - Bad smell and moist - AC not really functioning - You can hear others Definitely NOT 4 Star, more like 2 Star. For that price, stay a bit more remote and take an uber to come to the beach to save some money. You will thank me later.

The location is perfect. A block from the best beach close to Palma, some nice restaurants and bars, beautiful pool area, sea view, near buses, a small supermarket and bakery. Could hire bikes from the hotel at a very reasonable price. At night time there was lots of noise from other residents. I also reported that my safe was not working and it was never fixed. Had to pay in cash for the bikes and the pool towel deposit. Hotel food very basic, much better available nearby.

Location couldn't be better as it is in between Palma and the airport with great bus connection to both and just few steps from beach. Hotel is beautiful both inside and outside with super comfy beds and amazing helpful staff. Highly recommend

Compared to the 4-star hotel we just stayed in in Palma, this is not a 4-star. More like a 2-star. Walls are absolutely paper thin. r Rooms are tiny, and somewhat dated. Bar closes at 9pm. Not a lot in the area. Find somewhere else.

Lower level rooms are extremely noisy. Felt like I was staying in the kitchen with dishes and cups clanging constantly. Definitely not worth the price paid. You can certainly find something better for the same money. Reception is also extremely unhelpful.

Lovely stay and great staff. Clean room and wonderful facilities. Will visit again.

Great location, just a few streets over from the super busy areas of Palma. The quiet streets are so nice to roam about and keep noise levels at a minimum from inside. Super clean, dental and shaving kits were a plus. Very nice staff and our room was ready early. I'm also pretty sure we got a complimentary upgrade because we booked the most basic room but ended up with a slightly bigger room. I would definitely come back!

My first trip to Palma was just staying one night before going to another part of the island. Santa Clara Urban Hotel was 5 stars! Location great, quiet and close to major parts of town. Room was charming, I even had a sweet balcony! The reception staff was 5 stars especially Catalina who was so kind. Gracias, I will see you on my next trip to Palma!
Angela Roberts★★★★★
Catalina greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel most welcome. Our junior suite was incredible! It had a beautiful view and plenty of space for a family of three adults. It was special to be staying in a former 17th-century palace of Mallorcan nobility, imagining all the stories that must have happened within those stone walls. Its location in the old town is perfect for exploring the narrow streets. You can easily get to the Palma Cathedral (a must-see!) and the Arab Baths. Make sure to spend some time on the hotel’s terrace. The only thing we wish we could have done is stayed longer!

Lovely hotel tucked away in the streets of old Palma, great for access to resturants, the port and cathedral. Very compact but functional rooms. When we first arrived it was a little chaotic given a number of people were checking in at the same time and it's a really small property, but the staff are very friendly & efficient. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly come back.
Tobias Bucher★★★★★
If you expect a grand entrance hall, a typical five star experience with a stylish bar and restaurant, you will be disappointed. Instead, this is a really small boutique hotel in a narrow building in the heart of Palma city center. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We had a junior suite which was large, clean, had a very comfortable bed and great water pressure in the shower. Most importantly, the air condition worked really well. The breakfast was a small buffet with the option to order additional food. Also here, the staff was really great and very attentive. There is no gym in the hotel but the they do have a corporation with a nearby gym. For couples who would like to be in the city center, this is an excellent choice.

Perfect hotel in the area! The location is excellent, and the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. A special thanks to Santi and Marina — they were absolutely amazing, always friendly, welcoming, and ready to help with anything we needed. They truly made our stay even better. Highly recommended! 🤍

This was my first time visiting Palma for my birthday, and my stay was absolutely amazing! The hotel staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive, which made me feel so welcome. Since it was my birthday, the hotel even surprised me with a cake — such a thoughtful and touching gesture! One of the staff members also offered to help pick up my takeaway order at night, which I really appreciated. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I slept so well every night. Because of the warm and wonderful service from the hotel staff, it also left me with a very positive impression of Palma. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend this hotel!!

The hotel is perfect, we stayed 4 days, everything was in order, we even received extra mattress, as we have booked two separate beds instead of twin bed! 🍀The staff is lovely, very helpful and friendly☺️They helped us with car renting (we got the car in the hotel and we left it in the hotel at the end of our stay) and we received the best recommendations where to eat (top-notch)!It is not the closest one to the city center, but there is convenient public transport and it takes 15 min to get there☺️ Definitely recommended, we left with nice memories and positive feeling🍀

Basic, Tiny hotel with Basic rooms. Nothing fancy but its quite cheap one if you compare other hotels in that area. Location is quiet, thats bonus. And breakfast, good one too, simple as at home. Really nice staff.
Jayne Foster★★★★★
The hotel is spotlessly clean; the room was great with excellent air conditioning and a fridge full of items at a good price if used. I would like to add that although all the staff (inc the lovely lady who looked after the breakfast area), were friendly and professional ... Luca was exceptional in his role of ensuring our experience in Palma was one to remember.
Ece Bilsel★★★★★
Very friendly and helpful stuff, clean room and good breakfast. The location was also very convenient. We highly recommend this place.
Helen Robinson-Tsingos★★★★★
Lovely quiet hotel on the backstreets of Palma. It is not close to town (about a 20-30min walk depending on your pace). No pool and the bar has limited drinks and opening times but they serve purpose. Very comfortable bed, every room has a balcony or patio of some description. No views as it's a small hotel so does not exceed higher than it's surroundings. The rooms had some doubles and some twin doubles- so I think you'd need to be very clear if you wanted an actual double bed. We were a group there for work and got what we were given! Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The location of the hotel is unbearable. Everywhere is walkable distance. The service of staff are great. The room’s ac is strong and adjustable. The design is on point and practical. Only thing is the soundproof of the room is not that good. Otherwise everything is very good. The restaurant staff are super nice.

Ca n’Alexandre Hotel is an exceptional choice in Palma! The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the city, surrounded by shops and restaurants. The hotel is spotless, providing a very comfortable atmosphere. The highlight of the stay was Sofiane at the reception. His friendliness and helpfulness made the experience truly memorable. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. For anyone looking for a fantastic place to stay in Palma, this hotel is highly recommended!

I stayed a couple of nights at Ca n'Alexandre and it was a really pleasant experience. The room was clean, big enough and had everything one might need. The hotel is located in the very center of Palma, so one can reach everything by foot. One thing that I was not very happy about was breakfast. The choice was not big and the bread was not fresh. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a place to stay - it's cozy and its location is very convenient. Just don't book your breakfast there and go for a cafe in the city.

We had a beautiful & comfortable stay at Ca n'Alexandre hotel!!! The hotel is located near the public transportation, at a safe and central location!! The staff is professional and everyday cleaning is provided. P.S.: a beautiful dinning area is located in the entrance of the hotel!

For any traveler looking for great value, incredible service and prime location this hotel should be your top choice. With only 16 rooms, Can Alomar is quiet and sophisticated with highly attentive and personal service. On top of that, the hotel’s Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant is a welcomed break from traditional tapas and was arguably the best meal we had in Palma. Lastly, Daniel - the hotel’s guest experience manager - is incredibly well connected across the island and secured us reservations at all of the top restaurants no matter the town or affiliation to the hotel. For travelers who want to be plugged into all the best local restaurants, this was a huge difference that we didn’t expect and made our stay truly special.

Hi I want to share this post because we stayed at Can Alomar hotel. The staff service was second to none. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable. Nothing was a problem throughout our stay. Lovely food and they are happy to go off the menu if you’re a vegetarian. Patricia the duty manager will go above and beyond to make your stay hassle free. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. From the moment we arrived, the service was extremely disappointing. No one from the hotel assisted us with our luggage. The staff accompanying us had to carry all of our bags themselves. Even after informing the reception that our luggage was still outside, no one came to help. What was even more frustrating was that the hotel never clearly informed us during the booking process that children were not accepted. This is essential information that should be made very clear before guests complete their reservation. On top of that, the staff were completely unhelpful and showed no interest in resolving any of the issues we raised. The level of service was far below what anyone would expect from a five-star hotel. In my opinion, this hotel does not deserve its five-star rating. Based on the service and overall guest experience, I would rate it no higher than a three-star hotel. A truly disappointing stay. This is the room cleaning!!!! 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

Used to come here regularly but today we were told that”since 2012 we are adults only”. Strange as my whole family along with my family 10 year old daughter were here last summer sitting in the terrace for an aperitif. RESPONSE TO HOTEL’S RESPONSE: My parents and I stayed at Can Alomoar when I got married in Mallorca in 2017. Have been back regularly. I have been there on more than 2 occasions with my daughter (who is 10 now) with the most recent being last year where my family and in-laws enjoyed drinks and snacks on the terrace. We’ve also eaten in the restaurant. I understand wanting to preserve a certain atmosphere for your guests but this isn’t a group of loud children an adult only resort. Extremely disappointing and will not be coming back anytime soon. Thanks for the memories.

We had an outstanding experience. Wonderful hotel, perfect location within the city but still relaxing and calm. Breakfast and dinner are amazing, including a high level and friendly service. Special thanks to Daniel who welcomed us and ensured our stay will be unforgettable.

Insider Tips for Choosing Your Boutique Hotel in Palma

Before finalizing your reservation, it is worth considering a few practical factors that will shape your stay. Palma’s boutique hotels vary significantly in atmosphere, location, and amenities, and understanding these differences will help you match the right property to your travel style. The following tips draw on local knowledge and recurring guest feedback.

First, consider whether you want to be in the old town or by the sea. The old town offers immediate access to Palma’s main attractions, but its narrow streets mean some hotels have limited natural light at ground level. Waterfront properties in Portixol or along Paseo Marítimo provide more open space and sea breezes but require a short taxi or bike ride to reach the historic center. Second, always check whether the hotel has a rooftop terrace or pool if outdoor space matters to you. Not all historic buildings can accommodate these features, and a courtyard garden is not always a substitute for a view. Third, book directly with the hotel when possible. Many boutique properties offer complimentary upgrades, late checkouts, or welcome amenities to direct bookers that are not available through third-party platforms. Fourth, pay attention to seasonal noise. During summer months, streets near popular squares and nightlife areas can remain lively until late. If you are a light sleeper, request a room facing an interior courtyard or a higher floor. Finally, think about arrival logistics. The old town has restricted vehicle access, and some streets are pedestrian-only. Confirm with the hotel in advance whether they can arrange a taxi drop-off near the entrance or assist with luggage from a designated point.

Palma’s boutique hotel landscape continues to set the standard for urban hospitality in the Mediterranean. The properties included here represent a careful balance of heritage, design, and service—each offering something genuinely distinct rather than a formulaic luxury experience. Whether you are visiting for a long weekend or an extended stay, the right hotel will deepen your connection to this remarkable city.

Take your time reviewing the options and imagine how each location might shape your daily rhythm. A hotel in the old town places history at your doorstep, while a sea-facing room changes the way you begin and end each day. Whatever you choose, Palma rewards travelers who stay with intention, and these boutique addresses are among the finest places to do so.
