Jardí del Túria is more than just a park. It is a nine-kilometre ribbon of green that winds through the heart of Valencia, repurposed from an old riverbed into the city’s most beloved outdoor escape.
For locals, it is the city’s backyard. For visitors, it is a peaceful artery connecting the bustling centre to the modern City of Arts and Sciences.
Spending a morning jogging, cycling, or simply strolling under the bridges works up an appetite. The surrounding neighbourhoods are packed with specialty coffee spots and brunch havens waiting to refuel you.
Whether you need a quick espresso at the bar or a leisurely flat white with avocado toast, the areas bordering the park have you covered. You just need to know which side streets to wander down.
From the historic barrios of El Carmen and Russafa to the leafy avenues of Mestalla and Penya-roja, the coffee culture here is thriving. You will find everything from minimalist Nordic-style roasters to cozy, plant-filled living rooms.
This guide highlights the best places to grab a quality cup within a short walking distance of the Turia Gardens. Each spot offers something unique, but all share a commitment to excellent beans and welcoming atmospheres.

Coffee lover approved 🤌, actually all Syra coffee shops I tried all around Valencia were really good. But want to mention this one in particular. The barista there has been particularly good. His name is Dave if I'm not mistaken, give this man a pay rise.
I've been there back in February, the 14th to be more precise (sorry it took so long to write this review), even if it was quite busy, Dave took his time with every coffee he brewed, and I must say, the coffee was great. On top of that, he gave me great recommendations for restaurants and other things around Valencia. He also took his time to help me choose some great coffee beans after asking what I generally prefer when it comes to coffee beans (it is not a small thing when you've got a busy morning, I really appreciate the effort). Will definitely come back every time I'll find myself in Valencia. Keep up the good work

Exquisite!!! I LOVE this place. Coffee is one of the rarest that i tried in specialty coffee shop that doesnt taste acidic but tastes like nuts - very well.
And what to say about the brownie - my god, it is pure heaven, not too sweety you taste the cacao and nuts.
David is very kind and chatty guy!
My fav spot in vlc.

High quality specialty coffee that also serves pastries. No seating, take out only. The flat white was good and this is more of a preference, but I wished there was more acidity to the coffee.

Coming to this café after a two-hour tennis match feels absolutely wonderful. The food is delicious, the staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, and the whole atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing.
Every time I come to Valencia, this is definitely one of the places I want to visit. It has such a special feeling that makes you want to come back again and again.
I also own a magazine, and I would love to feature this lovely café in one of our future issues.
A truly beautiful place with great taste, wonderful people, and a very special atmosphere. Highly recommended!

A very friendly cafe. The blonde girl is a winner! She made me a coffee, and I asked for less water, but she changed it with a smile and understanding. I live nearby, and now, every time I pass by, I'll only come here because her smile and understanding towards customers and guests is what makes me want to come back! And she speaks Spanish and English, which is also a plus! The food is the same everywhere, and the atmosphere is created by the people!!!

Great location and wonderful service. The coffee was so great and the cinnamon roll.
A very special thanks to Ms. Luna, who took care of my order.

On a rainy day in Valencia we came across this lovely bakery and coffee shop. We later found out it was part of a chain but this store was really lovely. The pastries and croissants were amazing and the coffee was excellent. Young man (sorry I didn’t get his name working on 10th Oct) was really helpful and his English was very useful when I was asking for a cup of hot water. I did try speaking Spanish but he was very helpful. Great place to go for coffee and cake!!!!!

Had a lovely breakfast experience at Beverly Café in Valencia. The café has a beautiful pink-themed interior with a stylish and cozy atmosphere that feels perfect for brunch and coffee. We tried the eggs benedict with salmon, scrambled eggs, French toast, and cappuccino — everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The French toast was especially delicious, soft on the inside with fresh fruits and a perfect sweetness balance. Friendly service and a relaxing vibe made the experience even better. Definitely one of the nicest brunch spots to visit in Valencia.

The place itself is super cute and perfect for cute pictures. Unfortunately the service was a little slow they made my “hot” latte cold and wrote down the wrong pancake order! The meal that we ordered was not presented like in their menu picture and it tasted a little mid for the price! After they corrected the pancake order they were pretty good.
Samah El Hage Hammoud★☆☆☆☆
Very pretty vibes but the coffee was room temp, the food dry and flavorless, and the latte watery.
The service was good. The waitress was nice. The food presentation was nice.
Do not recommend.

Looks cute from outside. The menu looks pretty standard for a cafeteria, nothing special. The food is ok, average, I’d say. These cafeterias solve the problem if you miss the lunch hour and find every restaurant closed for siesta.

I stumbled upon this place completely by chance. I treated myself to some avocado toast with salmon, a cappuccino, and orange juice.

The toast was fresh and the drinks were delicious. The staff was very friendly, and the person at the counter helped me practice my Spanish 😉
I liked the atmosphere and, of course, the food.
Thank you very much!

We discovered DOCTA Coffee during a visit to Valencia and had an amazing flat white there. It was so good that we bought beans to take home with us.
A few months later, I contacted them again to order coffee as a Christmas gift to Germany and the whole experience was exceptional. Communication was incredibly friendly and personal, with great advice and genuine care throughout the entire process.
The package arrived right on time before Christmas, beautifully packed and including a handwritten Christmas card. Such a thoughtful and generous touch.
Fantastic coffee and truly wonderful people behind it. You can really feel the passion of this family-run business. We’ll definitely come back when we’re in Valencia again. Highly recommended!

I was in Valencia for 20 days with my partner, and after a few days we discovered Docta.
From that day on we went at least once a day, until the last day of our holiday.
Let's start by saying that Valencia has many delicious cafés, but Docta is a step above them all for that extra attention they give to the customer.
The owners Javier and Diego are among the kindest and friendliest people I have ever met.
Javier in particular (since he served us more often in the afternoons) let us try different drinks when we weren't sure what to order.
I fell in love with their Mocha, cappuccino, iced latte, iced chocolate and mint chocolate.
If we had had more days I would definitely have tried others.
We will definitely be back!
I recommend it for those looking not only for excellent quality coffee, but for those who like to live the true experience of perfect 'customer care/service'.
(Ps Prices are also good).
We are already missing Docta!
Thanks guys from Carmen and Emma

for a very cheap price you get to spend an hour and a half with adorable kitties, all of them are friendly and seem very healthy. the staff is also great and takes good care of the cats. and you get to choose a free drink on top of it, just a great place all around, we'll definitely come back!
E Markham★★★★★
Very cheap compared to American cat cafes. They have a very good system and a great menu that is included with your entrance. My only complaint is they say they only allow 10 but they put 17 people in while we were there and it was too oversaturated to really see the cats and some of the children were not well behaved which made the cats hide. I'm sure if I came back on a weekday it would be better. The set up is great. The cafe options are very tasty and good quality. The front of the cafe allowed dogs but had frosted glass so the animals didnt see eachother. We hope to return.
bas erkenbosch★★★★★
Me and my girlfriend visited the place when she studied in Valencia. The place was nice and you van see that they care for the animals. Service was good the cats were sweet. We liked that much that we visit a second time in 4 days.
I really recommend it!

A very nice and well-kept place where you can relax in the company of cats who rest, play, and let you pet them. Very relaxing.

I and my kid recently visited Fabrica de Huellas center with homeless cats and had an amazing experience! The concept of this place is truly unique: you get to spend time with adorable cats that are looking for a new home, while also enjoying a delicious meal in a separate room. The cats are super friendly and love to be petted, making the experience even more enjoyable.
The desserts were absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was super nice. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed. I was impressed by how clean and well-maintained the space was, despite the presence of so many cats.
Overall, I highly recommend Fabrica de Huellas to anyone looking for a fun and unique dining experience, or simply looking to spend some time with adorable cats. It's a great way to support a good cause and enjoy some tasty food at the same time!

Huge thanks to the whole team for such amazing service!

Both latte and iced americano are great! The espresso de hoy is “midnight”. The taste is more sour, which is perfect for iced americano. But a bit low flavor for latte. But the latte milk form is good. No seat in store. Togo only.

For your fix of morning coffee, look no further in Valencia. Syra has excellent coffee. It's a small outlet which focuses on good coffee and fresh pastries. Small menu but they get it right

It looks nice but it doesn't taste good. Was very disappointed with the taste of my iced latte after reading the great reviews. Tasted like cheap coffee. My friend had a matcha and we already saw by the colour of the powder that it's bad. Tasted like grass.

Great little gem of a coffee shop in Valencia. My barista was such a lovely man and a top notch barista! Clean, fresh menu which offers a good range of drinks and snacks.
Great tasting coffee, which is not as strong as I normally like it, but still had a sweet, cocoa taste that is very welcoming for this kind of temperature.
Sokita Maro★★★★★
“I’ve been looking everywhere around Valencia for a genuinely good matcha and honestly most places were disappointing… until I found this spot. The matcha here is AMAZING smooth, rich, high-quality ceremonial taste, perfectly balanced and not overly sweet like most places. You can actually tell they care about the quality of what they serve.
And Carlos made the best matcha for me! Super kind, welcoming, and clearly knows what he’s doing. The whole experience felt cozy and authentic. Definitely my new favorite matcha place in the area. Highly recommend for real matcha lovers 💚”
Marian Taciuc★★★★☆
The flat white was decent, but the cappuccino here in Spain I think is made by a different recipe, they just pour a very aerated milk and put some cacao on top. Just take something else besides cappuccino.

Super nice people and serve great coffee. If you're looking for an espresso then definitely you will be satisfied
SkaTer2k★★★☆☆
I’ve had better coffee but it was fine. They have really good doughnuts! The vibe is fine, most of the people were working. It’s lowkey connected to a hostel.
What I don’t like is that there is zero signal and 5G access, but if you want to connect to their wifi, you have to share your email with them. I also think the sitting areas could be better, there are mostly bar chairs. And I also don’t understand why they use plastic cups when you sit inside. I think it’s pointless and also not ecological for no reason.
Hector diaz perez★★★★★
I came here specifically for the cold brew and it did not disappoint. They had real cold brew and not that fake hot coffee with ice that some claim as cold brew. They alternate their choices of coffee so you have a different one in your visits. It's very good
Dara Bukhtoyarova★★★★★
This coffee shop is tucked away in a small alley, so I had no idea it was there until I found it accidentally! Unlike some other Syra coffee shops, this one has some sitting space, which is nice. It shares space with a hostel lobby, I think, and it’s a pretty cool atmosphere. The barista was great and we enjoyed our coffees on a rainy day.

Here’s my first and probably last post from Valencia that’s not to say there is only one great coffee shop, there are many many many 😁
However I really liked MAYAN … a lovely relaxing business run by a family originally from Guatemala 🇬🇹. Granddad is the boss (quite right too if you ask me 😁) and the rest of the family work hard to make your visit a pleasant one.
Obviously no @cotsaward … this is Europe 😉 … don’t let that put you off just go and enjoy ☕️🍰 😁👍
Oh and COME ON ENGLAND ⚽️🏴⚽️🏴⚽️
Pieke★★★★☆
Nice bar, Mayan themed (as aspected). They had a nice mural to show the coffee chain. The coffee we had (espresso and a cortado) were nice. The espresso was better then the cortado (which was slightly bitter). Very friendly barista. Everything was nice and clean. The only thing that makes a 4-star rating in atmosphere were the notes everywere (don't touch, laptop 30 minute max, you break you buy, etc.) It is probably neccesary but felt a bit negative.

Early in the morning searching for wholesome meal plus cup of coffee. Went onto Google map and came across this cafe.
Had the Guatemala Breakfast + Flat white coffee.
The Guatemala meal comes with scrambled eggs, salted black beans paste, cheese, plantains and bread. It was delicious.
The coffee is simply out of this world, so rich and aromatic, never tasted coffee like this before. Flat white is a must to try !!!

This is my favorite place for coffee and they also have delicious pastries and cheesecakes. I go there often and recommend it to all my friends. The coffee is uniquely delicious, I’ve never tried anything like it anywhere else in the world. The service is very warm and welcoming. Thank you so much!
Barry Haggis★★★★★
A truly wonderful place!
The coffee is great, the food is great, the organice juice is great!
Location: 5* - Right next to the Torres Quart
Service: 5* - I wanted to practice my Spanish and they have been very patient and accommodating. The food was prepared very quickly and so were the other drinks.
Decor: Mayan themed (obviously) but it has a real raw and natural feel to it.
Food & Drink: 5* - The Tortilla was amazing. I have had it for the last two days, and will be coming back every morning. The coffee is some of the best I’ve ever had and the orange juice was so good I could have drank litres (thank god they only put it in a medium glass).
Overall, if you’re coming to Valencia, don’t leave until you’ve tried this place. A true gem.

The menu here looked unique and really tempting, so I was excited to try breakfast. I ordered the avocado salmon toast, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations, the bread was a bit cold and hard, and overall it felt like it was missing that extra touch of care. If you’re after something simple, this place works, but if you’re looking for a more special breakfast, you might want to explore other options.
How to Choose the Right Café for Your Visit
Not every coffee stop suits every mood, so it helps to think about what you want from your break before you wander in. Some places are designed for quick, standing-room-only espresso shots, while others invite you to linger for hours with a laptop or a good book. The time of day also matters, as many popular brunch spots near the park have long queues on weekends but are peaceful on weekday mornings. Consider whether you want a full meal, a sweet pastry, or simply a perfectly extracted double shot, and let that guide your choice.
Check the Roasting Style
Valencia’s specialty scene leans toward light and medium roasts, which highlight fruity and floral notes. If you prefer a darker, more traditional Spanish profile, look for cafés that advertise a house blend or Italian-style roasting. Asking the barista about the current single-origin options is always a smart move.
Mind the Spanish Coffee Schedule
Most locals drink coffee at very specific times, often a quick café con leche after breakfast or a cortado mid-afternoon. Cafés near the park tend to fill up between 10:00 and 12:00 on weekends. Arrive before 10:00 or after 13:30 to avoid the biggest crowds.
Look for Brunch Menus Before 13:00
Many of the best food-focused cafés stop serving brunch dishes around midday or 13:00. If you want eggs, pancakes, or tostadas with your coffee, plan your visit for the late morning. After that, you will often be limited to pastries, cakes, and smaller bites.
Ask About Alternative Milks
Oat, almond, and soy milks are widely available in Valencia’s modern cafés, but quality varies. Oat milk is usually the barista’s preferred choice for steaming and latte art. If you have dietary restrictions, confirm the brand or ask for a recommendation before ordering.
Bring a Reusable Cup for Takeaway
If you plan to take your coffee into the park itself, a reusable cup keeps your drink warmer and reduces waste. Some specialty cafés offer a small discount for bringing your own vessel. This is especially handy if you want to sip while walking through the gardens.
Check Opening Days Carefully
Many independent cafés in Valencia close on Mondays or reduce their hours on Sundays. Before making a special trip across the park, check the current opening times on the café’s social media or Google listing. This is particularly important during local holidays and August, when some owners take summer breaks.
Explore the Neighbourhood Entrances
The Turia Gardens stretch across multiple districts, and the best café for you depends on where you enter the park. If you are near the Bioparc, focus on the Campanar side. If you are near the Palau de la Música, look toward Mestalla and Aragon. Let the park be your starting point rather than your destination boundary.
The beauty of Valencia’s coffee scene is that it rewards exploration. While the gardens themselves offer a tranquil escape, the streets just beyond the bridges are alive with the hum of grinders and the scent of fresh pastries.
Next time you plan a walk or bike ride along the Turia, leave a little extra time to detour into one of these welcoming spaces. A great cup of coffee is often the difference between a pleasant outing and a truly memorable one.
