12 Budget-Friendly Hotels near Jardin du Luxembourg

Finding a comfortable place to stay in Paris without spending a fortune can feel like a challenge, especially when you want to be close to the city’s most beautiful green spaces. The area surrounding the Jardin du Luxembourg offers a perfect blend of local life, historic architecture, and convenient access to the Left Bank’s cultural highlights. Staying near this iconic park places you in the heart of the 6th arrondissement, where charming cafés, independent bookshops, and classic Parisian boulevards create an atmosphere that feels both refined and welcoming.

For travelers watching their budget, the good news is that you do not have to sacrifice comfort or location. While this district is known for its elegance, it also hides a surprising number of affordable hotels that cater to savvy visitors. These properties often feature compact but well-designed rooms, friendly service, and a genuine sense of place that larger luxury chains sometimes miss. Choosing one of these options allows you to spend less on your room and more on experiences like a morning croissant by the Medici Fountain or an afternoon exploring the nearby Panthéon.

The key to finding budget-friendly accommodation here is understanding what you truly need from your stay. Many hotels in this area offer smaller rooms with smart layouts, and some share bathrooms or provide breakfast at an additional cost. By prioritizing location and cleanliness over spaciousness, you can unlock a stay in one of Paris’s most desirable neighborhoods without exceeding your travel budget. A little flexibility with your check-in dates can also reveal lower rates, especially during weekdays or the quieter winter months.

The Jardin du Luxembourg itself is more than just a park; it is a living part of Parisian daily life. From the octagonal Grand Bassin where children sail toy boats to the tree-lined promenades perfect for a slow stroll, the garden invites you to slow down. Staying nearby means you can visit early in the morning when the light is soft and the crowds are thin, or return at dusk when the palace glows against the evening sky. This proximity adds a layer of value to any budget hotel in the area.

The surrounding streets also reward exploration on foot. Rue Mouffetard, with its lively market atmosphere, lies within easy walking distance, as do the historic lanes of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. You can browse for vintage books, sample artisanal cheese, or simply sit at a terrace with a café crème and watch the world go by. When your hotel is close to the garden, these everyday Parisian pleasures become part of your routine rather than a planned excursion.

For budget-conscious travelers, transportation costs matter too. Staying near the Jardin du Luxembourg gives you access to several metro and RER stations, including Luxembourg RER B, which connects directly to both Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports. This convenience means you can avoid expensive taxi rides and spend more time enjoying the city. Many of the affordable hotels listed below are within a short walk of these transit hubs, making your arrival and departure far smoother.

Below, you will find a curated selection of budget-friendly hotels that deliver real value without compromising on the experience of staying on the Left Bank. Each property has been chosen for its balance of price, location, and guest comfort. Whether you are traveling solo, as a couple, or with a small family, these options prove that an affordable stay near the Jardin du Luxembourg is not only possible but genuinely enjoyable.

This is a mediocre hotel in a very convenient location. You can tell it has not been renovated in forever because of old stains on the walls, chipped bathtubs, etc. and while I was there they had water damage so breakfast was served in another hotel down the road and the elevator stopped working because of water in the shaft. The stairwell is the typical Parisian rounded-edges steep staircase that are very easy to trip on. It’s ok if you only need a place to sleep in a very convenient location, but if you’re looking for a cozy room look elsewhere. Not recommended if you have limited mobility or small kids with strollers.

The front desk gentleman was absolutely awful. He was rude, dismissive and looked like all he wanted to do was sit and smoke in the doorway which made the whole hotel lobby stink. The AC was out in one room and day one he said he was getting someone to come look at it. He didnt, my kids were sweltering in the Paris summer heat. Finally after talking to him numerous times he changed our rooms, and of course he was rude about it and acted like it was such an inconvenience and that he was doing us a favor. What he seems to forget is that the guests pay his wage. The one person at the hotel who was good was the sweet breakfast lady, always smiling and kind. I hope the management sees this review because the gentleman at the front needs to be fired.

This Kind of hotel was really Bad. The only reason that we gonna took IT because of the metro and the price! You just need this small room for sleeping

Old hotel, good price for location and room size

I was able to book a stay here after an awful experience with an Airbnb, last minute and they were able to get me in as soon as 9am the next day! The front desk service were incredibly nice and polite, the room service was amazing and the best part was their A/C. Paris was going thru a heat wave at the time and this was a life saver here! And the location was prime, there were so many restaurants and cute locations, it was hard to leave this area to explore the rest of Paris. I would def recommend this place if your main goal is to have a place to sleep, shower and have A/C. Will most likely book again when I come back.

If you are from the US and know the travelodge or motel6 brand, this hotel is similar. The rooms are not sanitary. We got two rooms, one on Floor 6 and one on Floor7. There were ants in the room on Floor7. We told the front desk about it and they said they would clean it up and there were ants still everyday. So we couldn’t bring any food or drinks up to our room in case we’d get infested. On Floor6, the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed since the last person as there were toe nail clippings all over the carpet. There were mold issues in the rooms. My husband got hives from sleeping on the bed, unsure if that’s from bed bugs but possibly. Why stay here? If you are on a budget, need to get multiple rooms (we had 3) and staying for many days, then this makes sense. There was no hot water for showers the entire time. So hopefully you go in a heatwave. Some decent things- it’s safe, friendly staff, nice to get the breakfast included, close to many restaurants and sites, air conditioning was great, view of Eiffel Tower from the room. I recommend getting the deluxe suite, it was a decent size.

Don't let the 2 stars freighten you. This hotel is soo good. After a very inconvenient experience at the Ibis budget hotel, me and my friend had to find an immediate solution and book a new hotel. The only one within our price range and good accessibility was this one and let me tell you, we should have booked it first. We had to book it the same day of arrival so you can guess how stressful it all was, but as soon as we arrived in this hotel we were greeted by the amazing and nice guy at the reception. We loved every single detail especially since it brought us back in time with the beautiful elevator. The room(bathroom as well) and halls are small, but it's Paris so it's part of the experience. Everything was clean and new, the view was amazing, there was hot water, good Wi-Fi and the best part was the amazing location. Notre Dame is 10 minutes away on foot, there are many local restaurants and cafés nearby, markets open late in the night and many cute bookstores. If you want the best stay in Paris, then this is for you. When I come back in Paris again, this will be my choice 100%.😊

Affordable hotel in a fantastic location with everything you might need within walking distance on a safe and quiet street. The breakfast was surprisingly good with plenty of options and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and could communicate in English. Clean room, hot water and working AC. The room even had a French balcony with views of the Eiffel Tower in the distance which was a very nice surprise. Only complaint is that the room was very small, especially the bed which barely fit two people. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re looking for an affordable option in the 6th!

I recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, I loved the vintage vibe and what is great about it, is the location, you have everything near, and if not, you’re very close to the metro lines that take you directly to the wished places. Although it was a nice stay, in the last day I noticed a good amount of ants on the floor (mind you the floor is fully covered with a carpet), and that was not very nice, thankfully I didn’t notice on the first day otherwise I would go insane. Other then that everything else was nice, just inspect your room right from the start. The staff would clean the room everyday - not sure if they thoroughly cleaned it but we would always find everything nicely folded.
Nextbiteoflife Expats In Spain★★★☆☆
It's exactly what it says it is - A two star hotel. It's in a five star location however. The rooms are tired, clean, but the layout is funky. We had the double room but it requires climbing over my husband to get up from the bed. Forget about watching tv if you don't speak French, and you bump your head into it often. Every staff member we interacted with was fantastic. There is a tiny elevator but we are used to that in Spain so no big deal. We spent five nights, and for what we paid, I expected more, even if it's Paris.

A Very Disappointing Experience — Think Twice Before Booking Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing and far below what we expected based on the photos and description online. The room we received looked very different from what was presented in the pictures. The overall quality, condition, and atmosphere simply did not match the expectations created by the listing. Service was another major issue. The attention from the owner was particularly disappointing and showed very little concern for the guest experience. Unfortunately, the service from the rest of the staff did not improve the situation. One detail that I found especially unacceptable is that guests cannot control the air conditioning directly from their room. The temperature has to be managed through reception, which is extremely inconvenient and makes it difficult to feel comfortable in your own room. When you travel, especially on vacation, your hotel should be a place where you can relax and feel comfortable—not another source of frustration. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this hotel. If you are looking forward to enjoying your vacation without unnecessary problems or disappointments, I strongly suggest considering other options. I certainly wish we had.

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, right in the Montparnasse area, close to the метро, cafés, restaurants, and with easy access to all the main attractions of Paris. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with daily housekeeping. The staff were friendly, polite, and always ready to help with any questions. The hotel has a calm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for relaxing after a busy day exploring the city. Overall, it offers great value for money, and we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Paris.
alexander roudik★☆☆☆☆
This was without a doubt the worst hotel experience of my life. From the moment we arrived, the hotel manager behaved extremely disrespectfully and made us, along with several other guests, wait for a long time without any explanation. Even worse, instead of giving us the accommodation we had actually booked, they redirected us to another property that also belongs to them. This is completely unacceptable. The rooms are extremely old and poorly maintained. The sink and shower were broken, the wallpaper was torn and worn out, and everything looked neglected. The window of our room was facing a dirty and unpleasant backyard. The lobby was in terrible condition as well — even dirtier and older than the streets outside. I have stayed in dozens of hotels across Europe, but I have never seen anything close to this level of poor quality and negligence. It was a complete disaster and a huge disappointment. Many guests who arrived at the same time as us were already trying to leave the hotel within the first hour. This place does not even deserve 1 euro per night. A platform like Booking should seriously reconsider allowing hotels like this on their website. We trusted the recommendation because it appeared in the Booking Genius program, but unfortunately it turned out to be a complete disgrace.
Amanda James★★★★★
Nice spot! It was perfect for our group with a great variety of restaurants near by, about 15 minutes or less to the main attractions by car, and when we messed up our reservations, because we needed an extra night, they were able to accommodate! Plus there is air conditioning! Would stay here again!
Dato Manan★☆☆☆☆
Very terrible experience!!! The overall experience was disappointing. The staff showed very little concern for guest comfort and well-being, despite repeated complaints about noise and a malfunctioning air conditioner. Communication was poor, and our concerns were largely ignored throughout the stay. As a family traveling with two young children, we expected a higher level of care, professionalism, and customer service.

Hotel was easy to get to, in a nice location to go sight seeing without too much travel hassle. Most of the staff were lovely and accommodating. Would say the rooms were smaller than expected and outside could be noisy at times. One of the biggest issues I had was my door getting stuck from the inside twice while I stayed there for only 3 nights, and being a little difficult to unlock at times from outside. Otherwise it was generally a decent stay and felt safe for the most part.
Timothy Kelly★★★★★
Well located, friendly and budget conscious option. This was close to bus stops and metro stops and I had no trouble getting anywhere in the city I needed to go. The room was comfortable and cleaned daily. The only thing (which I won't deduct stars for because its hardly the hotels fault) is that I booked the top floor room (which did have a great view of a Pantheon) and the heatwave hit while I was there, so it was VERY hot. But they did have a fan ready for me and there was curtains to shield the room from the sun in the morning. So all things considered, I am happy with this hotel and would use again, although my next trip to France won't be in the summer X_X
Marina Zimmer Correa★★★★★
It's in a super nice location in the Latin Quarter (the university neighborhood). The room was small and the bathroom was very small, as expected for the price on this location. The staff was kind and stored our luggage on the day of our arrival and departure. The room was relatively quiet, and the beds were comfortable.

Service is great. Super nice people. Loud at night due to the street. Trash trucks and such WiFi barely works on top floor Room and bathroom are tiny.
Madrona Beach★★★★☆
Outstanding location, very good service. In general it is quiet in the hotel but Its location in an urban neighborhood (not on a busy street) means that you will hear street sounds throughout the night. The front desk staff were professional and capable. The cleaning staff were courteous and efficient. We accidentally left something expensive in the lobby and they held it for us for a day. The hotel's affordability allowed me and my wife to probably save 100 Euros/ day, making it possible for us to have an extended stay and enjoy fine dining. But the hotel is not for everyone. The rooms are small and modest. You have your own bathroom, but there is barely room to turn around in the shower. The wifi is adequate but not great and wifi access on the upper floors is spotty. Families with children should probably go elsewhere.

This was our fifth trip to Paris, and I would consider this hotel typical of most budget hotels we have stayed in, small, noisy and no air conditioning. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. They provide a small breakfast with coffee, juice and bread, no meat or cheese. It is in a great location close to bars restaurants shopping and the metro. It is about a block from the RER B Luxemburg station which can be used to access both CDG and Orly. This was really great for getting around the city. There is a small 3 person elevator which is great when you have to lug your bags up to your room. But like many hotels in Paris it stops short of the ground floor so you still have to heft your bags up three or four steps to access the elevator. But again it is still better than three or four floors. Like most budget hotels in Paris you can't fully open the bathroom door without hitting the bed. But hey, at least it has an ensuite bathroom that is always a plus. The bathroom smelled of mold which the house cleaning staff tried to cover up with perfumy cleaning detergent. The flowery smell was so pungent when we arrived, it immediately set off my allergies and I had to open the window to clear out the aroma. Not sure if they have bleach in France or not. Even though I called this a budget hotel, we still paid nearly twice as much as we did for a nicer hotel in Rome which we had just came from. Such is the economy in Paris. Overall it is an average hotel in a great location. If I come back to Paris again, I could see myself considering it again also.
Catalina Mata Garro★★★☆☆
Good hotel for the price you pay and the location it is in. It has good connections and the area is very walkable. The rooms are small but nice, though not sound proof. I could hear everything in the room next door. Overall good stay.
Jonas Boston★★★☆☆
We booked this hotel due to the proximity of the school I was attending for a week (right next to the Luxembourg garden). When we arrived we noticed a strong smell of mold in the walls (like a wet cellar smell). For me and my fiancée this is quite critical, as we both have a strong mold allergy. You have to know that this is quite usual for old french buildings, the scorching hot weather the previous days were not helping the case. However, you could not even open the window/door to air it out, as the room was so small, the bed was blocking the door to the balcony. I have never experienced this so strong and both of our allergies directly fully kicked in. However, Karim the hotelportier, was very understanding that due to our condition staying in this hotel would have been a health hazard. He helped us to figure out another accomodation and canceled our room. Unfortunately, we can not really recommend the hotel itself but we want to thank Karim for his caring service!
Stuart D★★★★★
Hotel was modest, but quite comfortable and the location was excellent. If you are realistic with your expectations, and don't assume that you will have the same hotel experience as you would in an American hotel you will be quite happy here. Staff was friendly, bed was comfortable, and your are quite close to both a train station and several sights including the Patheon, the Latin Quarter, and Luxemborg Park. Bathroom is small, but not as small as I thought it would be based upon the reviews I read.
Lonni Besançon★★★★★
This hotel is ideally located in the Latin district very close to everything that is nice to do there. You’re meters away from a jog in the Luxembourg gardens, and 3 minutes away from the pantheon. The rooms are small, but it’s to be expected for such an old and central establishment in Paris. The beds are very comfortable but some efforts could be put for better pillows. The staff was very kind, attentive, and helpful. Thanks a lot for everything they did during my stay.

I am selfishly hesitant to give a review that could bump the Google ratings up and make this hotel more popular but it would be unfair not to! I booked this hotel on my first solo trip to Paris as the location was just too perfect. Recently renovated and renamed, the previous reviews and older photos on the internet didn't do it justice but my comfort room was exactly as pictured on the website, with a Juliet balcony and lovely air conditioning and all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. The location is FANTASTIC! You're a couple of steps away from the Luxembourg Garden, there's an incredible little cave/wine bar across the road, as well as a couple of cafes and boulangeries and supermarches if you wish to buy snacks for your room, or pack a picnic for the garden. You're also in the heart of the 6th arr with so many amazing things to see. Initially I was worried about having to leave my key at reception every time, but this is standard for smaller hotels with physical keys. Every staff member I've interacted with was so amazing, friendly and helpful! I didn't have the hotel breakfast, as I was only there for 2 days and wanted to try boulangeries around me, but that looked lovely as well. I'd highly recommend this hotel as I felt perfectly safe as a solo female traveler, but the comfort room would easily serve a couple as well. I WILL be back. Thank you for making first Paris memory amazing and even enduring my wonky French! Merci boucoup et a bientot!

It was a memorable stay at Hotel Saint-Louis! The rooms were clean, cleaned daily and the staff were absolutely lovely. The location was also superb and close to the trains. We also loved the fact that they would hold our keys for us so we didn't have to worry about carryung the hotel key while exploring Paris. The walls were thinner than expected but this did not affect our sleep at all. The staff also helped me prepare a surprise for my partner after our engagement which made our day, and stay even more special.
Myron Lowe★★★★★
This is a great place to stay. I was traveling with my 2 kids and we received great hospitality. The staff at the front was immensely helpful and nice. The location was also great since it was near many pastry shops and restaurants, but was also tucked into a quiet neighborhood that allowed quietness when needed.
Julia Baun★★★★★
We just stayed at the Hotel Perreyve and could not recommend it more highly! The renovations are DONE and it is stunning! Location is beyond perfection and the staff is so delightful! If you’re concerned about room size, snag a Deluxe room, generous sized for a Parisian hotel room and plenty of room for our numerous pieces of luggage. We had an early flight so had breakfast at the hotel and it was a delicious early morning option. Elevator was tiny but it’s clearly a historic building. If you’re considering this option, don’t hesitate - can’t wait to go back!
Nave Betzalel★★★★★
The location is absolute perfection, just a short, lovely walk from the Jardin du Luxembourg and surrounded by fantastic cafes and bistros in the heart of the Left Bank. The hotel itself perfectly blends classic Parisian charm with modern comfort. Our room was beautifully decorated, quiet, and incredibly comfortable. What truly sets this boutique hotel apart, however, is the staff. Every single team member was exceptionally warm, welcoming, and helpful with local recommendations.

The front desk staff was amazing. Arranged transportation when we needed it. The rooms were spacious for Paris hotels. The room was clean and the bathroom was great. Excellent water pressure in the shower. Wehad and 8 year old with us and we would certainly stay here again!

Very disappointed. We made a reservation and somehow booked a reservation with another hotel with a similar name. We received an email a week in advance, but given the similar names, I thought it was to the correct hotel. I realized my mistake and indicated that we would not be arriving. They charged us anyway. It was an honest mistake. I asked for some leniency, especially given that I told them at 2 p.m. we wouldn't be there. They could have sold that room. I have received zero empathy.
Yalan Thai★★★★★
The front desk was very accommodating. We arrived early in the morning about 8 AM to drop our luggage. Coincidentally I said we were exhausted because we didn’t sleep at all on the plane. They offered to get our room ready by noon, and after we came back around 1, we were able to check in, so we can take a nap. We really appreciate their thoughtful kindness and care. I travel a lot but seldom see hotels willing to do that. It made our trip easier and happier. As we went in to our room, a small plate of fruit and 2 macarons on the table as a gift to welcome us. So so sweet!❤️ Mu husband rated their breakfast a 5 start continental breakfast. You can also add either ham or bacon for your choices. I love the idea as they put your breakfast on the table for you. Although it seems limited quantities, it doesn’t waste more food as buffet type. Besides, the portions were a lot. It was even too much for us. One more good thing to mention is that they have plates and utensils in the room. So when we bought something back to eat in the room, we have plates and forks to use. The location was in a quiet street and only 2-3 minutes away from train station. Very convenient. I would definitely recommend this small beautiful but friendly hotel if you travel in Paris.
Stephanie Scotto★★★★☆
This hotel is very cute. We booked the larger family room for our stay since we are a family of 5 and could all be accomodated in an "apartment-style" room. To our dismay however, the room itself is located on the ground level of the hotel, with sidewalk-level windows. This was not ideal for our family nor was that how the room was advertised online as there was a picture of a window staring out at rooftops. We were only there 2 nights so we just kept it, but we were disappointed. Gregory at the front desk was very nice however and offered several area suggestions and inter-Paris travel advice. The area is unfortunately far from most attractions so you need to Uber everywhere or take the subway where the nearest station is a 12-minute walk. Not ideal.
Mark McGough★★★★★
Really enjoyed our four night stay. The rooms are well appointed and the beds are comfortable. This was our first time in Paris and the location was excellent with lots of places to walk to and places to eat. The staff is very helpful and I want to especially thank Gregory for his excellent customer service.

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Apollinaire. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, which made us feel comfortable throughout our stay. The hotel is located in a lovely neighborhood in Paris’s 6th arrondissement, just a short walk from the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens. The rooms are very small, so if you want to open the closet you can get into the shower. The cleaningness of the rooms wasn't that great and I had the 'pleasure' of finding previous guests food there. The food things is the strong air-conditioning and the location which is great.

We paid €420 for two nights at Hôtel de Nesle and would not return. At this price, we got (we didn't realise at the time of booking!) a room with NO private toilet; guests had to use a communal toilet in the corridor. The shower and sink were openly inside the bedroom, without proper bathroom privacy. This was especially inappropriate for a twin room booked for two adults. We complained immediately after seeing the room and requested a refund, but this was refused. We were offered a different room for the second night only after we had already paid and had limited practical options in Paris. That room had the only added benefit of ensuite bathroom. Both rooms had serious issues. We documented dirt, dust, stained bedding, deteriorated/dirty sealant, damaged finishes, poor maintenance, ants, excessive street noise and a hairdryer with a taped electrical cable and visible internal elements. A historic building can have character, but it does not excuse poor hygiene, ants, defective equipment, lack of bathroom privacy or unclear disclosure of communal toilet facilities. The impression the hotel makes on ther website and advertising is massively different what it actually is. The hotel offered only a €60 voucher for a future stay, which is meaningless because we would not stay there again. We are pursuing a refund through authorities.

Amazing stay here - staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Super well located, right next to the Batobus stop. Quirky and charming rooms.

What a funky GEM! I adored this unique boutique hotel. Nothing fancy but TONS of character. Each room has its own theme and is lovely. The inner garden is perfect for a home made Happy Hour. The manager is so very helpful (let me check in very early and carried my heavy bag to my room). He also had a great sense of humor. Centrally located to everything and the cafe on the corner was a perfect place for a night cap.

The location of the hotel was excellent; we were able to walk everywhere. It’s very close to the Louvre Museum and many other attractions. Everyone at the reception was very sweet. The owner was very attentive and helped us a lot. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was clean, and our room was cleaned every day. We chose a room with a shared toilet, but the toilet was quite small. Other than that, everything was great. Thank you for everything! I will definitely recommend this place.

Charming small boheme style hotel with great location on a calm side street just off Pont Neuf and rue Dauphine. I used to stay here in the 1980s, when it was still run by Mme Nesle herself. Today it's owned by her grandchild. Now it's renovated to much better standard, but still with the odd charm and oriental decorations in place (and no television in the room). My room even had a small private terrace. Simple but nice and clean, with very friendly staff. There is no breakfast, but plenty of food options nearby. It was a very nice experience to return almost 40 years later and spend a Saturday night here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Hôtel du Savoir. The front desk staff were genuinely kind and helpful during every interaction, which made the experience feel warm and welcoming from start to finish. The hotel appears newly renovated, and the design is tasteful, stylish, and well done. Our bed was very comfortable, and everything felt clean and thoughtfully put together. The rooms and bathrooms are definitely small, but that is fairly expected in Paris and did not take away from our stay. For us, this hotel was the perfect combination of value, location, comfort, and style. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a charming, well-located Paris hotel without overpaying.

A very lovely boutique hotel with helpful staff. Beautifully presented and can see the thought placed into defining the hotel aesthetic and vibe. Booked a double bed room, and it had a nice clean bathroom, comfortable bed, linens and sheets with AC and a quaint balcony. I do echo other reviewers noting that it is a more compact hotel so need to be mindful of luggage space (you're in Paris after all) and also the bathroom. Check the size of the rooms before you book if you're unsure. Overall, a pleasant stay and thank you. Bonus is that they have their own bookmarks + Postcards for you to keep. Very thoughtful. 🙂

Fantastic hotel- beautiful, historic, in an incredible location, safe, and cool thanks to reliable AC. It is smaller and narrower in comparison to typical American chain hotels, but you have to remember you’re staying in one of Paris’s oldest and most historic areas. If you’re a larger person, whether in height or width, this may not be the hotel for you. I’m 5’8 and my knees were inches away from touching the bathroom door while sitting on the toilet. Regardless of the smaller size, my mom and I had a very positive experience and would absolutely stay here again whenever we return to Paris.

Perfect place for a getaway in Paris! I stayed for a week and had a really pleasant experience. I booked a room with a balcony, and the views were absolutely stunning. The housekeeping service was excellent throughout my stay. The location was very convenient and close to everything. The breakfast buffet was also delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back without hesitation!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel du Savoir! The staff were really friendly and helpful, the location was absolutely perfect for walking around and seeing all the sights and restaurants/cafes. We had a little balcony off our room that was such a lovely touch to sit out on for a happy hour cheese plate. Highly recommend!

We arrived during a heatwave with no air conditioning, and the fan provided initially broke and was not replaced. The room conditions quickly became unbearable in the heat, and several people in our group became dehydrated as a result. Being in the room was so hot. Cleanliness was unacceptable. The bathroom had visible black mould, rust, and a persistent foul smell in the shower area. The room itself was dirty on arrival, and needs maintenance. We observed cockroaches running around in the room during our stay. Safety was also a serious concern. Multiple power points were broken or hanging loose from the walls. We were given an extension cord that felt as if it was overheating and emitted a burning smell, which felt like a clear fire risk. This was extremely alarming. Maintenance was poor. Key cards repeatedly failed, requiring constant trips to reception. It also appeared that the same key cards could open multiple rooms, which raised serious concerns about security and privacy. The location was great and central with lots to see and do on the strip and the reception staff did there best to help in the situation and were always very friendly. Overall, the stay felt poorly maintained and unbearable in the conditions we were placed in.

Perfect location. Everything is easy to reach with the line 7 metro just 5 min away. Rooms and showers are very minimalistic. Just one toilet for the floor but that hasn't been an issue. Staff are okay.

stayed for three nights and as a female solo traveller it suited me perfectly! location is amazing, I felt entirely safe there and I felt the appearance and maybe slightly old fashioned vibe of the hostel was perfectly adequate for a budget location to stay in paris. gilles in reception was lovely, especially when I came back very late from nights out. was definitely somewhere to stay if you are both young and happy 🔥

There is very little privacy in the room, the beds don’t have curtains and the lockers weren’t big enough to fit my larger back and didn’t even fit my medium backpack. I also kept hitting my head on the top bunk because the space was smaller than usual (or I’m just a bit clumsy). Bathrooms also very very cramped and was questionable clean? Girl at reception was nice, she got me sorted very quickly and gave me the run down. The location is an interesting topic, on one hand it’s very close to the Pantheon and Notre Dame being only a couple minute walk away. It’s also located along a food street with lots of options. On the other hand it’s on the complete opposite side of the city to the Eiffel Tower and a fair walk away from the Louvre. Otherwise it

Was there in the waiting room waiting to book and tried to get a drink from the fridge for 2 euros but the guy at the desk was pretty rude and said its only for people who have booked yet I was there doing exactly that. Not very welcoming at all so I moved to another hostel up the road. Should have someone smiling and happy for the reception. Sad.

This a quaint, no fuzz hotel. There is a small lift/elevator for 2 people max (w luggage). The rooms are small and older but it gets the job done. The restroom/toilette is spacious and are remodeled compared to the room. What we liked was the helpful staff and the location. Quiet neighborhood. Close to Jardin du Luxembourg. Walking distance to plenty of stores and restaurants.

A quite nice hotel at a very convenient locacation! Staff is very gentle and helpful. Breakfast is basic but it's ok ( certainly you will have a baguette and a croissant and a nice cup of coffee! I would definitely visit again!

Nice clean older hotel. Breakfast included hard boiled eggs, cheese, meat, yoghurt, cereal, bread and croissant, etc. No charge for leaving bags if you have a later in the day flight, and small elevator if you're on a higher floor. Good location.

I spent a delightful week at Hôtel Jean Bart, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. My room on the first floor seemed recently renovated—clean, charming, and an excellent value at around €185 per night. As a solo traveller, the space was perfect, though it might feel a bit cramped for a couple. The double bed was enjoyable, but if I had to highlight a minor drawback, it would be the bed’s breathability; I found myself getting a bit warm at night. However, the bathroom was a pleasant surprise for an older hotel, featuring excellent water pressure and a consistent supply of hot water. During my stay in late September and early October, I appreciated the room’s temperature control, easily managed by opening or closing the window. Breakfast provided ample fuel for each day, featuring a wide choice of hot drinks, juice, flaky croissants and fresh, warm baguettes. The staff in the breakfast room were courteous and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. The hotel’s location is fantastic, conveniently close to Montparnasse and the Jardin du Luxembourg, with a grocery store right across the street. I would highly recommend this hotel!

I stayed at Hotel Jean Bart during my trip to Paris, and it was a great little budget-friendly hotel. It’s absolutely no frills, so go in with simple expectations, but it gets the job done. Coming from the U.S., I totally forgot that many European hotels still have smoking and non-smoking rooms. I chose a non-smoking room but could still smell a bit of smoke, something to keep in mind. That said, the front desk and staff were incredible. Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. The location is excellent, close enough to major attractions to walk or take a quick metro ride, but tucked away in a quieter area that feels very local. Rooms are small, but honestly, that’s typical for Paris hotels. If you’re prepared for that, you’ll be fine. Overall, a solid and affordable stay in a great part of the city. Perfect if you’re looking for something simple, clean, and well-located.

Tips for Booking a Budget Hotel near Jardin du Luxembourg

Securing a great rate in this sought-after neighborhood often comes down to timing and strategy. The following tips are designed to help you maximize value while ensuring your stay remains comfortable and convenient. By applying these practical suggestions, you can avoid common booking mistakes and make the most of your travel budget.

Book well in advance for spring and autumn. These seasons are peak times in Paris, and affordable rooms near the garden sell out quickly. Reserving two to three months ahead often unlocks lower rates and a wider choice of room types.

Consider a room with a shared bathroom. Several budget-friendly properties in the area offer this classic Parisian arrangement. If you are comfortable with a short walk down the hall, you can often save a significant amount compared to an en-suite room.

Travel in January or February for the lowest rates. The winter months see fewer tourists, and hotels near the Jardin du Luxembourg frequently drop their prices. You will also enjoy the garden’s quiet beauty without the summer crowds.

Check for breakfast inclusions carefully. Some affordable hotels include a simple French breakfast, while others charge extra. Compare the cost of the hotel breakfast with a nearby boulangerie, where a croissant and coffee can be both cheaper and more atmospheric.

Look for rooms on higher floors facing the courtyard. Street-facing rooms in this lively district can be noisy, especially on weekends. Courtyard rooms are often quieter, and some hotels charge the same rate regardless of the view or floor.

Use the RER B to your advantage. If you are flying into Paris, staying near the Luxembourg station saves you money on airport transfers. The direct train is far cheaper than a taxi and often faster during rush hour.

Ask about weekly or extended-stay discounts. Even if you are only staying four or five nights, some small hotels offer a reduced rate for longer stays. It never hurts to ask when booking directly with the property.

Staying near the Jardin du Luxembourg on a budget does not mean missing out on the essence of Paris. In fact, it often brings you closer to it. The simple pleasure of stepping outside your hotel and walking through the garden gates before breakfast is something no luxury lobby can replicate. By choosing a well-located, reasonably priced room, you give yourself the freedom to linger longer, explore deeper, and experience the Left Bank like a local.

Paris rewards those who travel thoughtfully. With the right hotel as your base, every narrow street, hidden courtyard, and quiet bench in the garden becomes part of your own story. The affordable options near this beloved park prove that smart travel is not about spending less, but about spending wisely on what truly matters: the memories you bring home.
