This is the best sushi I have had. I was visiting for the day and stumbled across this little restaurant. The staff were accommodating and really friendly. I wasn’t expecting much for a small hole in the wall, but the sushi was amazing! Highly recommend eating here. The prices are reasonable and affordable for good quality food.
Penelope Narboni★★★★★
Amazing sushi!! Super friendly staff and fish were amazing quality. You really get amazing quality and quantity for the price, very worth it. They turn into smash burgers at 12am and is the only one in Saint Tropez. Try it out 100% if you’re near, will definitely be back!

The best late night food if you want to eat something Asian and good at the same time. The food is amazing, quick and simple. Can't ask for more for such a small restaurant with a little outdoor area seating and a very friendly service.
Sandra Brikho★★★★★
Found this spot searching for Asian food on Google as we needed a break from Italian and French food. The owner was super friendly. The food was so good. The poke bowl was amazing. We also ordered yakisoba and a few rolls. All were good. There are only a few tables outdoor so it’s not much of an ambiance, but it’s great for a quick, casual meal. Would come again!
Turki Al-Dhfayan★☆☆☆☆
Very rude and unprofessional service. We waited for someone to take our order, but no one came. When we finally got up to leave and explained that we had been waiting, the staff member dismissively replied, “Alright, goodbye.” This is no way to treat customers. Basic courtesy and respect should be the bare minimum. A very disappointing experience.

We had dinner here one evening as a couple, and it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had, possibly the best of all. The food was absolutely outstanding: beautifully presented, full of flavor, and the menu offered an excellent variety of choices. The setting is breathtaking, with a magnificent view, and the service was truly impeccable from beginning to end. A special thank you to the wonderful staff, who even surprised me with a little bouquet of flowers as we were leaving the hotel. Such a thoughtful gesture made an already unforgettable evening even more special. The only minor downside was that, since the restaurant is surrounded by a beautiful garden full of flowers, there were a few bees flying around. Some guests were understandably a little nervous, but the staff handled the situation immediately by lighting coffee grounds to gently keep the bees away and using a racket when needed. Their attentiveness and professionalism were impressive. Every detail of this place is carefully curated, making it truly exceptional. We can’t wait to come back the next time we’re in the French Riviera. Thank you for turning a peaceful dinner into such a romantic and memorable experience.

Every visit only makes me more eager to discover the next location. It's rare to find a restaurant group that delivers such remarkable consistency across every branch around the world. Each destination has its own unique identity, yet they all reflect the same uncompromising standards of excellence, refined hospitality, exquisite cuisine, and timeless elegance. No matter where I go, the experience is always memorable, making me look forward to the next one with even greater anticipation

Absolutely one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Matsuhisa St. Tropez exceeded every expectation—from the outstanding food and beautiful atmosphere to the exceptional service. A special thank you to the reception team, who were incredibly welcoming, professional, and genuinely helpful from the moment we arrived. They made us feel valued and ensured everything was perfect throughout our visit. Every dish was outstanding, the quality was exceptional, and the overall experience was simply unforgettable. Without a doubt, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Highly recommended, and I can’t wait to come back!

Always pleasure being in this restaurant. Amazing atmosphere, food, service and experience. There was a DJ that night and the music was very good. The place is extremely beautiful and the hotel also. It is one of the best hotels in the region.

The service was absolutely terrible! The food was awful. The atmosphere was good, but the waiting time for the food was 2 hours, the beverages came after 40 minutes. The waiters were not polite. It was such a chaos… for this price I would say do not come!!!!!!

In a small plaza with a few other restaurants. I ordered online ahead of time and it took longer than estimated but the staff is very nice and it is worth the wait! I got a few rolls and a salad and everything was delicious. The quality is very good as well. They have outdoor seating and limited parking also.
Ben Collins★★★★★
Very easy to order online, food was ready at the right time and the staff were friendly. The food was super, the little details like a branded napkin and soy sauce included made the takeaway feel luxury!

Great sushi on the way back from Pamppelone beach. You should try the Lobster & Foie Gras sushi.
Christian Luna★★★★★
The place has a variety of dishes, thai wok, sushi and others. The kids menu is quite good too. Ideal to have a meal with an Asian beer
JL K★★★☆☆
Good sushis ans sashimis. A bit over priced but this is Saint Tropez. When you take one set with a drink you reach easily 30 Euros. Thus is why I did not give a fourth stars. You have various choice. This is not a restaurant but a take away with few chairs on parking lot near the main street to Saint Tropez. I will recommend if you want to eat fast and avoid Mc Donalds. It will fill your stomach with good think. You can find better and cheaper around if you have time. If not try pain bagnat.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt like this experience deserved one. We came this Saturday with my wife and our two children to celebrate our oldest son’s birthday, and we were seated on the restaurant terrace. The food was absolutely delicious, and we were very well guided by a server with long hair and glasses who gave us great recommendations. The service was truly exceptional and made the whole evening special. From the thoughtful little touches like bringing blankets outside, to kindly changing my daughter’s dish when she accidentally mixed up sushi and maki, everything was handled with care and professionalism. To top it all off, at the very last minute I mentioned that it was my son’s birthday, and the server organized a fun little celebration with a tiger mascot for him. It really made his day unforgettable. Everything was perfect from start to finish — we will definitely come back!
Ana Benedik★★★★☆
A beautiful setting and a wonderful atmosphere for a wedding welcome party. The terrace, the views, and the overall ambiance were absolutely stunning. The food (sushi) was delicious and everything was very clean and well presented. The service during the event was great, and it made for a truly memorable evening. The breakfast was generally very good as well, although one morning it felt a little below the standard of the rest of the experience. There was some fruit that didn’t seem fresh, and it looked like only one staff member was handling the breakfast service, which became difficult when many guests arrived at the same time. That said, this was only a small detail in an otherwise lovely experience. Overall, a beautiful venue, excellent food, and an atmosphere that made our stay very special. Highly recommended. ✨🍣🥂🌴

Every single time I come here I leave feeling like I just had dinner at a friend’s house. The owner and his staff are so lovely and genuinely welcoming — they remember you and make you feel at home right away. Service is brilliant, the food is incredibly delicious, and there’s always great music playing that makes it so relaxing. This place has the best vibe. It’s my go-to spot and I can’t recommend it enough!

Hands-down, some of the best food. The atmosphere is beautiful and has a nice vibe. The flavors were amazing and the mochi menu offers a serious variety. Licked the plates clean. I highly recommend.

Best sushi in the St Tropez area. Fresh fish, not a lot of mayo (thank goodness!), great view of the harbor and boats. Excellent service! Our new go-to!

The hip beautiful atmosphere drew us in, and the food was fantastic. Everything was fresh and tasty. We especially loved the chicken and beef skewers and the udon vegetable noodles. We returned a few days later to eat more😂. The proprietor created a friendly, relaxed vibe and gave us excellent service. We would return again but our vacation is over. Best wishes for this great restaurant.

Tips for Choosing the Perfect Japanese Dining Experience in Saint-Tropez

Selecting the right restaurant in a town famous for its high prices and high standards requires a bit of strategy. To ensure your dining experience is as memorable as the views, it helps to know what to look for before you book a table. The following advice will help you navigate the local scene like a seasoned regular, ensuring you get the best value and the freshest flavors.

Book well in advance during the summer season.
Saint-Tropez operates on a different calendar than the rest of the world. From June to September, the best tables vanish weeks ahead of time. If you have your heart set on a specific omakase counter or a terrace seat, secure your reservation as soon as your travel dates are confirmed.

Look for the fusion of local and Japanese ingredients.
The best chefs in the region do not simply import everything from Japan; they utilize the incredible bounty of the Mediterranean. Ask your server if there are any specials featuring local sea bream, red mullet, or Provençal truffles incorporated into the Japanese menu. This is where the true magic of the Côte d’Azur happens.

Understand the difference between a "sushi bar" and a "Japanese grill."
While sushi and sashimi are the stars, many top-tier establishments in Saint-Tropez excel at robata (charcoal grilling) and Wagyu beef preparation. If you have guests who prefer cooked food or steak, ensure the menu has depth beyond raw fish to satisfy everyone in your party.

Consider the dress code and atmosphere.
Dining in Saint-Tropez is a social event. While you are on holiday, many of the high-end Japanese restaurants enforce a "smart casual" or "chic" dress code, especially for evening service. Check if the venue is a lively, music-driven spot or a quiet, intimate dining room to match the mood of your evening.

Verify the sourcing of the fish.
A truly excellent Japanese restaurant will be transparent about where their fish comes from. Do not hesitate to ask if the tuna is bluefin from the Atlantic or if they use locally caught shellfish. This not only ensures freshness but also supports sustainable fishing practices in the Mediterranean.

The evolution of Japanese cuisine in Saint-Tropez represents a beautiful marriage of two distinct yet complementary cultures. The Japanese philosophy of shun—respecting ingredients at their peak of seasonality—aligns perfectly with the Provençal way of life.

As you wander back to the port after your meal, with the lights reflecting off the water and the taste of fresh wasabi lingering, you will understand why this dining trend has become a permanent fixture. It is a reminder that luxury is not always about extravagance, but often about the quiet perfection of a single, well-crafted bite.
