Staying in Nice is less about finding a place to sleep and more about choosing the backdrop for your French Riviera memories. The city curves gracefully along the Baie des Anges, offering a unique urban blend of Italianate architecture, vibrant street life, and pebbled beaches.
Whether you are here to soak up the Mediterranean sun, explore the winding lanes of Vieux Nice, or use the city as a glamorous base for trips to Monaco and Cannes, your choice of hotel will significantly shape your experience.
The geography of Nice is remarkably diverse for a city of its size. You can wake up to the hum of scooters in the bustling Jean-Médecin district, the gentle crash of waves on the Promenade des Anglais, or the quiet rustle of olive trees in the hills of Cimiez.
Each neighborhood offers a distinct rhythm, and the best hotels reflect their surroundings. Understanding these micro-climates is the first step to finding an accommodation that fits your travel style rather than fighting against it.
Luxury in Nice often comes with a side of history. The city was a winter playground for European aristocracy in the 19th century, leaving behind a legacy of grand Belle Époque palaces with soaring ceilings and frescoed facades.
However, the modern era has introduced a wave of sleek design hotels and boutique residences that prioritize minimalist aesthetics and rooftop infinity pools. The juxtaposition of old-world grandeur and contemporary chic is part of what makes the hotel scene here so compelling.
Budget and logistics are equally important considerations. While Nice is generally walkable, the distance between the port, the train station, and the airport can be significant if you are hauling luggage or returning late at night.
The tram system has made connectivity easier, but staying in a central location often saves you valuable vacation time. Fortunately, the city offers a wide spectrum of options, from opulent five-star palaces to charming, family-run guesthouses that offer incredible value.
For the savvy traveler, the “best” hotel is not always the most expensive one. It is the one that aligns perfectly with your itinerary. If you plan to spend your days on a sun lounger, a beachfront property with a private beach club is worth the splurge.
If you are here for the food and nightlife, staying in the Old Town or the Port district puts you steps away from the action. This guide curates a selection of properties that excel in different categories, ensuring there is a perfect match for every type of visitor.
Below, we have compiled a list of the 17 best hotels in Nice, carefully selected for their location, service, design, and unique character. Whether you are seeking a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a solo adventure, these properties represent the very best the Côte d’Azur capital has to offer.

I don't often leave a negative review for a hotel, but this is the worst Accor hotel I ever stayed in. Definitely not a 4-star and probably worse than many 3-star Ibis. Overall it feels like a low-end, cheap serviced apartment with the Adagio brand name.
Rooms need some serious refurbishment - the floor looks very dated, and there are cracks on the floor, walls and ceiling, which I don't typically expect to see in 4-star hotels.
Very unprofessional staff, and probably significantly understaffed. As a gold card member I asked about the welcome drink they offer, and they explained that only juice and coffee were offered. When I asked if wine or other drinks are offered (as many other Accor hôtels offer), the staff essentially LAUGHED at me and said 'there's no free wine in France'. Well, many other Accor 4-star do offer wine as welcome drink and that's why I asked. I understand each hotel could differ in their offering, but the attitude of the staff is regrettably intolerable.
When we were checking out, the reception desk also seemed extremely busy and working under stress.
Breakfast is simple and plain, and definitely not worth the 18 euros they charge per person.
Location is near the beach and that's probably the only good side of it.

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience, primarily due to the level of service by the staff.
Staff are very unfriendly, rude and unhelpful.
Throughout my stay, I found several staff members to be unhelpful and unapproachable. On multiple occasions when I asked for assistance, staff offered minimal guidance, or sat on their seat on their phone and just told me to deal with it which made it difficult to resolve even simple requests.
The most concerning experience occurred during check-out. The staff member at reception was notably unfriendly and dismissive. I felt that other local guests were prioritised and served others behind me in the line. Also when I asked about a welcome drink included with my Accor membership, the response was handled in an unprofessional manner. The staff walked to the back and made dismissive comments with another staff with a disgusted facial expression right in front of me that felt inappropriate and disrespectful. It was left me feel very uncomfortable.
Will not recommend this hotel to family or friends at all. It’s not worth the money spent! If you are considering this hotel, I would recommend looking for an accommodation that has better trained staff who are actually friendly and helpful. It will make a big difference to your visit to Nice.

Well let begin with the room. It's an apartment as you can understand from the name. You will get a kitchen with dishwasher stove microwave fridge and you can ask for a coffee machine.
There are plenty of supermarkets and restaurants so I don't see any reason to add 18-20€ for breakfast.
The room is clean take in account that if you wish for a daily cleaning it's an extra.
There are no drapes on the windows so you wake up when the sun is.
TV is tiny.
It can be kept a bit better the chairs on the balcony are on the end of their life.
There is a back exit strait to tram station

Very disappointing stay.
The receptionist with curly hair was extremely rude and made what I perceived to be a racist remark, which was upsetting and completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, she was repeatedly engaging in intimate behavior with her girlfriend at the reception desk. As I was traveling with my young teenage daughters, this created an uncomfortable atmosphere in what should have been a professional hotel environment.
The lift was not working during our stay, forcing us to carry all of our luggage up four flights of stairs. There was also no housekeeping service throughout our 4-day stay. This was not made sufficiently clear during the booking process and should be prominently disclosed on the website before guests make a reservation.
We were not provided with fresh towels during the entire stay, and guests were expected to collect their own rubbish and take it down to the ground-floor bins themselves.
Overall, the lack of basic hotel services, the non-functioning lift, and the unprofessional behavior at reception made this a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this property to families.

Well the entire hotel has cheap vibes and nothing like the images(scam) or worthy of 4 star hotel. Not sure how it is in accor chain. I did change my hotel to have better vacation.
About room : sink in the bathroom had leakage, has no inside lock to the room(security concern), tv has no channels neither it is smart one, the roof top has depleting condition furniture for sunbathing, AC cooling wasn’t working. Tram noise was little disturbing.
Charged 10euro as tax, which I confirmed with other hotel I moved after this pathetic one, is too high.
About receptionist Olena : well after living and working in Paris, I brushed her off initially and gave benefit of doubt. I was too exhausted to care about her attitude. But at the time of my check out, I realised and can confirm she is little off towards brown skin community and extra sweet towards pale skin people!
Well in short, if you are used to Marriott bonvoy, IHCL chains then this hotel is of OYO crappy hotel styles & standard. Not recommended.

Great location both to Nice attractions and the train to other points in the region. Quiet, efficient air conditioning. Comfy beds, clean rooms. Quiet neighborhood. Helpful front desk staff. Rooms are simple and not large, but if that's ok with you this is a great choice.

Nice short walk from the station. If you have roller bags, beware of the Google directions, it may take to the stairs at the east end of the station. You want to leave from the west end of the station and go down the hill.
We had a nice ground floor room. Staff was excellent and the reception is staffed 24 hours a day.
The available breakfast is meager, so if you're wanting more, then give yourself a few more minutes to walk to a nearby cafe.

good room, fine size. very clean and surprisingly quiet! great location very close to train station and 15 min walk to beach. AC unit worked well and room equipped with mini fridge was useful
only complaint is service is slow, often rude. one specific instance was the receptionist (bald) getting something from his personal car told us to wait to get our bags. when i told him we were rushing to catch another train (as our first one was delayed), he told us to get there earlier next time. no apologies or rush.
Angela Gallagher★☆☆☆☆
The receptionist was very unwelcoming. Rude and arrogant.
He didn't greet us, instead he was conversing with someone on his phone, saying he was at work and using filthy language at whoever.
Also no towel in the bedroom to shower.. Pleased it was only for 1 night.
Never been in such a dump.
Anna Burkovskaia★★★☆☆
A small room in need of renovation with very poor soundproofing. There are no cups, tea, or coffee making facilities in the room, and there's no kettle. You can borrow one at reception. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the train station, making it a great opportunity to explore the surrounding areas of Nice. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby, and a shopping street offers plenty of options for shopping.

Great location, 10 minute tram ride from the airport. 5min walk to train station. 10 min train into Nice. Small room, nothing fancy but clean. Great air con. Handwash provided. Hair drier provided at reception. Very comfortable bed. Didn't spend much time in the room, was just a bed for the night and shower in the morning so for the price it was great for us. Small area for breakfast, nothing fancy but for €9 it was enough - tea, coffee, juice, toast, jam, pastries, yogurt, fruit and ham. Would stay again for a short break.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and had the best experience. Not only does it have great value for the money, but it is also located close to all means of transportation - train, bus, tram, and airport (of course). It takes you 20 minutes to reach the city centre and the neighbourhood is safe at night, in case you want to wander more in Nice Vielle. Supermarkets are close to the hotel (12 mins walking). I also want to highlight the professionalism and helpfulness of the receptionists to whom I want to say a big thank you! One day, it was raining heavily, and they let me borrow an umbrella so that I could go outside and buy one from the supermarket. They also let me leave the backpack at the reception after check-out to be able to enjoy my last day in Nice. I could also borrow the hairdryer and (although not needed during my stay) clothing iron. Also, thanks to the cleaning ladies, my room had fresh towels and was cleaned every day. If you want to eat, you can either order ready-meals at the reception or go to the restaurant in the Novotel. The staff is really friendly, and the food is tasty and well-priced. You can also have some drinks at the bar. Overall, it was a great experience and felt like home. I was very happy with my stay and will return on the next occasion.

Unfortunately, our stay at this ibis hotel was very disappointing. When we arrived, we received our key and went straight to the room, where we were immediately met with a very strong sewage smell. At first, we did not complain since we understood it was a budget hotel and did not expect luxury. The room was very small and outdated, but honestly, that was exactly what we expected from a budget hotel.
However, despite opening the window and airing out the room for hours, the strong sewage smell never disappeared. Even after housekeeping cleaned the room the next morning, the smell remained just as bad.
We eventually informed the hotel staff, and they brought in a machine to remove the odor, but unfortunately it made no difference. We then asked for another room, but were told that nothing could be done.
In the end, we had no choice but to book a room at the hotel next door and request a refund. Very disappointing experience.

I am giving this hotel 5 stars for the following reasons. I think that when you normalize your expectations (price versus what you get) this hotel is actually very appealing. It is very close to Terminal 1 - 10 mins walk. It is close to some restaurants, and about 10mins walk from Carrefour city. The room was as expected, a bit small but super functional. Everything was clean. Quite and private. Easy get in get out. The bed was comfortable. AC was great. Hot water as needed. I also purchased breakfast at 9 Euros which was absolutely worth it. Hot drinks and juices, Boulangerie, some cheese, yogurts, cereals, boiled eggs. I'll definately come again.

Had a lovely time in this hotel and were very well looked after by the staff. We spent a little more and were rewarded with a deluxe room with a balcony. Below which was a small swimming pool and seated area which was little used and a bar that was never open (drinks could be bought from reception).
Breakfast was continental and plentiful while the free teas, coffee and water in the terrace room was a nice touch.
The hotel is located by the station, and so perfect for travelling around the wonderful French Riviera by train, although 30 minutes walk to the old town which is the best part of the lovely city of Nice. That said it’s only 12 minutes to the sea and a walk along the promenade.
All said I would absolutely recommend this excellent hotel

Amazing experience the staff and service was extremely kind. They gave me recommendations on where to go around Nice which was great for me and friends. Highly recommend to stay here

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Stay – Truly Outstanding Hospitality
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. The property itself is beautiful, but what truly made our experience unforgettable was the exceptional level of service provided by the entire team.
From the moment we arrived, everyone was incredibly welcoming, professional, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. The staff went above and beyond in every aspect of our stay, assisting with our luggage, safely storing our belongings, and making sure we felt comfortable and well looked after at all times.
A special mention must go to Alexander at Reception, who was absolutely exceptional. His professionalism, kindness, and willingness to assist with anything we needed truly stood out and made a lasting impression. That said, every member of the team was fantastic, and the high standard of service was consistent throughout the hotel.
The staff also provided excellent local recommendations, including a wonderful nearby restaurant where we enjoyed a beautiful dinner. Their knowledge of the area and genuine desire to help enhanced our entire experience.
It is rare to find a hotel where the service not only meets expectations but exceeds them in every way. The warmth, efficiency, and attention to detail shown by the whole team created a memorable and seamless stay.
A heartfelt thank you to Alexander and all the staff for their outstanding hospitality. We would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for exceptional service and a truly first-class experience.
Five stars are simply not enough. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Normal hotel for the price. The location is very good, and the room was cleaned every day. The bed is small, but it is fine for staying there. The only downside is that the staff do not seem very interested in helping guests, and I could not get an extra blanket. Overall, the price-quality ratio is good.

I stayed at Hotel Trocadero in Nice from 26 to 27 July, and unfortunately my experience left me extremely disappointed and concerned.
After leaving the hotel, I discovered that several belongings were missing from my luggage: a perfume, two pairs of swimming shorts and a sweater, with a total value of approximately €500.
What makes this particularly troubling is that I know these items were still in my luggage when I left Cannes before arriving at the hotel. I am normally extremely careful with my belongings and very rarely lose anything. After my stay at Hotel Trocadero, however, these items had simply disappeared.
I contacted the hotel three separate times to ask whether anything had been found or handed in. Each time I was told that nothing had been found.
I obviously cannot prove exactly what happened or who was responsible, but based on the circumstances, I strongly believe that the items disappeared during my stay at the hotel. Having several unrelated belongings vanish at the same time, worth around €500 in total, is extremely disturbing.
I am posting this review so that other guests can be aware of my experience. Based on what happened to me, I would personally not feel comfortable leaving valuables or personal belongings unattended in a room at this hotel.

Folks, I rarely leave reviews, but we genuinely felt this hotel deserved the same level of attention and care that they gave us during our stay.
Over the years we’ve stayed in many hotels, including several with higher star ratings, but this Ibis scored 110% for exactly what we wanted from a city break.
The rooms were spotless and serviced daily. Towels were replaced regularly and, importantly, the housekeeping team always checked that there was a toilet roll plus a spare available — something many hotels surprisingly overlook!
The air conditioning was a lifesaver during the high temperatures we experienced in early July. Breakfast was excellent too, with a great selection each morning, and the advice on the quieter dining times was genuinely helpful.
We also appreciated the availability of water, soft drinks, and snacks in the lobby late into the evening. Another nice touch was the range of beach essentials available to purchase in partnership with Decathlon — caps, towels, T-shirts and other useful items.
Most importantly, the courtesy and friendliness of the staff really stood out, from the reception desk to the team members we met in the corridors and lifts.
We’ll definitely be checking Ibis first for future city weekend trips.

Air conditioning helps to put the temperature maybe to +25 but not lower than that. We have changed the room to a lower floor and unfortunately it did not help either. It is a pity in warm summer months. Proximity to the beach is a huge plus, the staffs were also very nice.
Please keep in mind, that no beach towels are provided, no fridge is available either anywhere in the hotel. Hairdryer you can get from the reception

My family and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights recently. We booked three rooms and were very satisfied with the convenient location (steps from beach, restaurants and metro). Only complaints were the smelly water from the tap and the difficulties getting toilet roll, and there is no cocktails despite showing it online. Its a great location, very convenient for the airport and lime bikes and a tram into Nice is a short walk. After we checked out we were able to spend time in the downstairs seating area and the pool. Very nice. Would be nice to have some seating outside for smoking.

My stay at this hotel was very disappointing.
Although the rooms were clean, the common areas were not well maintained. The carpets in the hallways were dirty and appeared not to have been vacuumed for a long time.
The most concerning incident occurred at 4:00 a.m. when the fire alarm went off. Guests were evacuated, but the hotel staff completely disappeared and provided no information whatsoever. There was total chaos. Families with children were left standing outside the building without knowing what was happening or whether it was safe to return. This is absolutely unacceptable. In the end, guests returned to their rooms on their own because no member of staff was available to explain the situation.
In addition, the receptionist refused to communicate in English, which is highly unprofessional for a hotel serving international guests.
The breakfast selection was very poor, and the toaster was out of order.
Situations like these are completely unacceptable and should never occur in a hotel that claims to provide professional service and ensure the safety and comfort of its guests.

We took the premium studio which was nice. The bed was kind of hard and definitely didn't feel like what you'd expect in a "premium" room. We enjoyed the rooftop pool but there was no umbrellas like advertised on the pictures. There was also no towels available at the pool, so I guess you're supposed to bring your own personal towel or the bath towel from your room. Breakfast was good. The checkout is at 11:00 but the maid walked in our room at 9:50 without consent and then apologized when she saw that we were still in the room.

The hotel is located close to the airport and public transportation, so you can conveniently go to Nice city center in about 15 minutes.
Few options to eat, do some groceries, take a walk in green or have fun are available with 5 minutes.
It offers very good breakfast. The staff is supportive, friendly and with good level of English. It was a pleasure to stay there.
The room we stayed needs some refreshing, but it was very clean and pleasant to stay. It’s well isolated from the nearby airport noise.
The small swimming pool, spa and gym was a nice addition.

Positives:
The rooms are soundproofed exceptionally well
The blanket is large so there is no problem with sleeping
The price is reasonably low compared to other hotels in the area
Negatives:
They don't clean the room normally, only if you ask for it.
The breakfast is very poor, lack of options and the service is slow
The reception hardly speaks english
The fire alarm is an actual problem, it went off during breakfast (somebody vaped in their room) and it took them around 15 minutes to turn it off
The hotel service overall feels extremely mediocre

The hotel’s best feature is undoubtedly its location; central, convenient, and perfect for exploring the city. However, that’s where the positives mostly end. The rooms are extremely small; if you're traveling as a pair, expect to feel crammed in like sardines. The toilet is tiny and coffin-like, and although the washroom is somewhat manageable, it has serious mold issues.
Water takes forever to heat up, leading to unnecessary waste, though once it gets going, the temperature is fine. The dining room is as cramped as the rooms, and asking for more croissants earns you disapproving looks.

Really great location! My sister and I stayed here, and sometimes after dinner we’d come back late — the walk back to the hotel always felt safe. The street is well-lit, the neighborhood is calm and peaceful, and it’s right in front of a lovely church.
The only downside: the walls are very thin — we could hear our lovely German neighbors chatting away in the morning 😅😂. Pack some earplugs and you’ll be just fine!
The front desk staff were extremely kind and caring. Checkout was at 11, which we completely missed — but they didn’t make a fuss at all and kindly got us sorted. You can also hang out in the lobby if you’ve checked out and are waiting for a train or flight. Super convenient

I didn't have that many expectations to begin with, since we went here for a school trip, infamous for being the classic terrible student housing type of hotel.
But this particular stay was pretty bad.
First of all the language, I get it that not everyone is fluent in English, but you're an hotel that houses international students and tourists. I'd expect the staff to be at least a little fluent in English, we were all Italian, and tried our best to communicate with the hotel staff, but when we spoke to them in English they'd reply to us in French, and even if perhaps they understood what we said they kept on replying to us in French. Why so rude? The service too was terrible, they literally slammed our cutlery and glasses when we asked them (since they forgot it in the first place) and kept on rolling their eyes if we asked them anything.
The hotel's moquette was terribly dirty, I get that it's hard and expensive to clean a moquette, but you cannot just leave it dirty with traces of the pasts guests' bodily fluids and food traces...
As for the rooms, they were the classic, nothing to complain outside of the cleaning conditions, and the beds were really comfortable and warm. The ventilation system was fine, so was the warm water and the heating system.
Let's talk about the food....
Terrible terrible.
Personally I am vegetarian, and I get that it can be difficult so I didn't really have that many expectations. The first day they served me some ratatouille, it was delicious. But outside of that day I was served unsalted pasta, noodles that tasted like soap or just potatoes. And like, I don't think they're very good nutrition wise 😭. The desserts too were honestly underwhelming. The first day they gave us this super creamy and warm apple cake and it was so good! So our expectations were raised, and then all the others days we were served fruits fruits fruits and more old fruits coming from the other days' breakfast. Speaking of breakfast at least that one was good, they had great options and omg their bacon was of the perfect crisp.
Food wise I didn't have such a terrible experience, but my classmates had a harder time. My friend ended up vomiting the fish they served to her, our lactose intolerant and gluten free classmates were served contaminated food so they ended up in the bathroom most of the time (and thanks god they didn't have a more severe reaction). I'd say they're not really careful on the food, so watch out.
Another issue were the paper-thin walls, to the point you could hear everything happening outside of your room. And when people started getting noisy, then you'd hear it too. I know the noise it's not the hotel's fault though, it's just these super thin walls and badly lodged doors that made every sound and breeze constantly enter the room.
Lastly, I'd say the location is very convenient. It's near the tram line in a shopping street, so moving around was fast and efficient.
Overall I'd say it's the classic shitty school trip hotel. Doesn't execuse the often inhuman treatment we got, we felt treated as liabilities, despite being paying customers and before that humans.

Went on a solo trip at the end of July for 4 nights.
I would definitely recommend, the staff were so lovely, friendly, welcoming and helpful and I definitely felt safe there.
It was around a 7 minute walk to the train station which was perfect and allowed you to see parts of the city.
I had a single room which was small but the basic parts were clean, it probably could’ve done with a deep clean but it was bare able for the price.
Thankyou so much for the reception staff for being so lovely.
Hello Voyager Julie Lee★★★★☆
This hotel was a great base for exploring Nice.
The location worked very well for me. Nice-Ville train station is about 750 meters away, making it easy to take a train to Monaco and other destinations along the coast.
Most restaurants, cafes, and attractions were within walking distance, and I enjoyed exploring the city on foot.
I was given a room on one of the higher floors, which I appreciated, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay.
The walk from the station is not difficult, but travelers with heavy luggage or mobility issues should note that it is about a 750-meter walk.
Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would happily return.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Monsigny. The hotel was very clean and in a great location, close to the train station and around a 20-minute walk from the beachfront, which made it really convenient for exploring Nice and taking day trips.
We especially loved the rooftop bar, which was a great place to relax, and all of the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming.
The only downside was that there was no fridge in the room, which would have been really useful as we stayed during a heatwave. However, there is a shop directly across the road where you can easily buy cold water and drinks.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Hotel Monsigny!

Needed a affordable central place to stay, as I was travelling for work and booked less than one week in advance, so most prices were crazy. I found this place at it was offering one of the best prices.
I was a bit skeptical of this place due to the reviews I’ve seen but I’m really glad I stayed here. For the reasonable price , for one person in the economy room for two nights, everything was spot on. Room was clean and tidy and bathroom was spotless. It’s a bit on the small side but enough for one person. The hotel staff were very friendly and efficient, and the check in was easy. I didn’t try the food so I can’t comment on that. The location is very convenient; right next to nice main train station and 15 mins walk into city and beach. Overall, I was pleased to stay here.
The only two small downsides I could think of were firstly that the noise insulation is not very good. My room was right next to the elevator so sometimes it got noisy. I got woken up by some loud Americans at 3am - which is not the hotels fault but please note that if you’re a light sleeper this place is not for you. In addition one of the lights in my room didn’t work. These are small things which you can over look for the positives.
If you’re travelling for efficiency and on budget I really do recommend this place !

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. Staff were excellent, very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was served with a smile and was just what we needed. Location is ideal for the train station and within easy reach of restaurants, bars and shops. Room was very, very basic, but clean, had great aircon, a comfy bed and a great shower. Missing a kettle for us but not a deal breaker.

Charming, authentic, and perfectly located
Hôtel Belle Meunière is a real find just steps from the train station, making it an ideal base for exploring Nice and day trips along the Riviera.
The hotel itself oozes traditional French character, high ceilings, tall Louvre windows, and lovely Art Deco touches throughout. My single room overlooked a quiet courtyard, so I slept soundly with hardly noticble street noise. The bed was comfortable, the ensuite classic and spotlessly clean.
What really sets this place apart is the warmth of the staff and chilled vibe. Excellent English is spoken along with a wealth of local knowledge - always ready with tips on where to go and how to get there. You can tell they genuinely care. The breakfast is simple and traditional - fresh croissant, baguette, coffee - just right to start the day .
If you want to stay in a friendly, character-filled classic French hotel without the inflated price tag, whilst you explore the sights and culture in and around Nice, then this is it. Highly recommended.

Earlier this summer we stayed at Hotel Belle Meuniere.
When we first arrived we met this nice guy (who just helped out the hotel since they were short of people). He guided us to how to park outside their hotel which also was a cozy "gravelgarden" to sit in and play cards etc.
During our stay we got treated very well and got guided thru were to eat and park etc by these two nice guys from Cannes and Antibes. 5/5 stars to you guys.
Even tho the beds might need an upgrade til next time we visit Nice we enjoyed the stay and the service really recompenced the beds.
Big recomend!!!
See you next time we visit!
Kind regards, Albin & Edith

Hotel approach is lovely, on a quiet street, very Nice-like aesthetic, staff are extremely helpful and couldn’t do anymore for us, the building feels very secure.
The reception sells soft drinks for fair prices.
The rooms are slightly dated however are large with en-suite, very clean and beds were made every day by the cleaner.
Location to Nice-Ville station is fantastic, 15 min walk to the Nice sea front, plenty of restaurants nearby!
Can leave bags after check out for free which is very helpful!
Would like to thank the owners and staff, would recommend.

Brilliant hotel. Room is clean and comfy. Connie on the reception was really kind & helpful! The area is great, close to tram and popular street with restaurants/ bars. The breakfast isn’t the best, but for the price it’s ok and I just have pastries and a hot drink. Would definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay last weekend at Hotel du Pin. Despite the room being small, everything is super well laid out and optimised. Several mirrors and plugs super handy. The bed and linens were great. Liked that they provide two types of pillows by default! And the location is the best to explore the city

Would highly recommend for a nice location and easy availability into the local town centre.

In my opinion, it’s located in one of the best areas to stay in Nice. It’s surrounded by cafes and bars, and you can walk almost anywhere. The staff were very helpful. The rooms were beautifully and modernly furnished. As the city slowly woke up in the morning, enjoying the hotel’s breakfast on the open terrace was truly delightful 👍🏻

Fantastic location. Rooms are very very small though (which maybe can be expected given the location of the older part of the city). They also have had a separate dedicated coworking space that is complimentary for guests which was very convenient for us. Service was great.

I had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Unfortunately, when I arrived at my next destination, I realized that I had lost my wedding ring during my stay. I contacted the hotel, and the staff immediately took my situation seriously. They spent a lot of time and effort searching for it, kept me updated throughout the process, and eventually found it.
What impressed me even more was that they carefully shipped my wedding ring back to me. It arrived safely, and I was incredibly relieved.
This level of care, honesty, and dedication to their guests is truly exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to help me, and I’m extremely grateful for everything they did. Thank you for turning a very stressful situation into such a positive experience. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for outstanding service.

The room was a good size for 2 persons. The a/c worked but not very cool enough. When the windows are opened - helped cool the room better. Overall - the hotel is in a good location , helpful staff ! Stayed 16-21 April !

I spent another 2 amazing weeks at the Hotel De La Darse for the second year in a row. Everything was perfect again and what I hoped it would be. Front desk, Brenda was the best, always friendly, helpful and efficient and a pleasure to chat with. The Continental breakfast was abundant and delicious. Will definitely stay again. The hotel is a true gem with the perfect location for me and the view is unbelievable. The restaurant menu looked amazing and I was only limited from trying from my own food limitations. It was full every night, so that speaks for itself.

The area fantastic. The people lovely. The hotel and beach location amazing. The hotel staff so so nice and helpful. The hotel breakfast was very nice. However the hotel interior was lacking. The room carpet was filthy the air conditioning was terrible the temperature never got below 25 degrees with the humidity at a constant 75-80%. They tried to fix it but to no avail. Me and my wife both caught a bad cold and cough from the air conditioning. When out of the hotel I could breathe a lot easier.

Loved the hotel. A great location with access to the promenade. Most places were very walkable from the hotel. Just one note to be aware that the beach club is an additional 35 euro per person. Also you need to book the beach club ahead. I think this should be clear when booking. It wouldn’t make me less likely to book but it’s good to have the information before you go.

My mom and I had so much fun staying at this hotel. We didn’t even need to go out to the bars because the hotel bar was the BEST. Music was great, drinks were fantastic and vibes were immaculate. Diana and Mohammad made us feel so at home.
The rooms were okay. They were a bit dated - no USB so make sure you bring a wall charger. No smart TV and every channel was in French. Not a huge deal as we are out and about all day, but something to note. (The newer rooms on floor 4 and 5 had the new USBpoets) It was veryyyy loud outside over the weekend and the sound didn’t die down til after midnight which made it hard to fall asleep but I suppose that may be the price you pay to have a great location.
House keeping wasn’t vacuuming the carpets but the rooms were decently clean. I was able to switch my room to a newly renovated section of the hotel and I will say it was beautifully redone and had the USB and smart TV. Front desk was very accommodating and friendly. I would definitely come back to the hotel in the future.

Misleading "Private Beach" – Hidden Fees & Poor Communication .
While this hotel advertises a private beach, the access is not included in the accommodation price. You have to pay an extra €35 (cash only) per day, and you’re required to reserve a spot a full day in advance – something the staff failed to mention when I checked in, despite my explicitly stating I was staying there specifically to use the beach.
On my second day, I arrived only to be told that all sunbeds were all taken and that I should have come before 12:30 – again, information that the staff should communicated but failed to do so(it was written in the finest print on a piece of paper they gave me). I did receive a refund, but by then, my only full day in Nice was wasted, and I never got to enjoy the beach at all.
Very disappointing experience. If you’re booking this hotel for the beach, be prepared for extra costs, rigid rules, and little to no help from staff.

This was probably the nicest room we stayed in in France! The location is perfect: so close to Castle Hill and the stores in the center of town; and, of course, it was right by the water! The staff was so friendly and helpful; the man who checked us in upgraded us to a nicer room and gave us lots of recommendations for what to do in our one day in Nice. The breakfast was delicious in the morning, as well! My only complaint would be that the elevator and hallways felt a bit rundown, but the rooms, location, and service completely made up for it.

The hotel was nice. There were various room sizes. Mine was smaller yet comfortable one, but it could use some renovation, such as fixing the bathroom door handle.
In the room however a big plus for me was the capsule coffee maker and the electric kettle. There were coffee mugs as well and the atmosphere was quite comfortable.
The services were excellent, the room was kept in its best condition throughout our stay and the staff was very kind and attentive.
The breakfast was amazing- the food was fresh and tasty while the view and atmosphere of the room were lovely. I think the hotel offers all three meals at an affordable price as well if you can attend.
The location is perfect if you are ready to spend your time exploring- it's a few minutes away from the train station and it's surrounded by many local restaurants for all budgets.
At the same time it is very close to the beach and all restaurants with a view of the sea which was a great plus as well.

Hotel de Berne are a beautiful little boutique hotel situated in nice in a perfect location right next to the tram and train, and only a 15 minute walk to the beach. The rooms are clean, new and spacious which made our trip to nice more comfortable. The staff at this hotel are so so lovely and accommodating, even to the point where I had left my handbag in the room following check out and they shipped it to my home. I could not recommend this hotel more especially for the value for money as it is a cheap price considering how great of a place it is. 5 stars!

Everything was definitely better than expected for this type of hotel near the train station—the location was convenient, we felt safe and it wasn't noisy. The room was small but clean. The staff were polite. Good value for money for a short stay.

I had a wonderful stay at Hôtel de Berne in Nice. From my experience, this hotel does not feel like a two, star hotel at all , it truly has the quality and atmosphere of a three-star hotel, and in my opinion, it deserves to be recognised as such.
The welcome was excellent: the staff were extremely professional, kind, polite, and also very friendly and cheerful. A special thank you to Lounis, who welcomed me during my late-night arrival with great kindness, professionalism, and a lovely smile that immediately made me feel comfortable after a long journey. I would also like to thank Tiago, who was very warm and helpful, providing useful advice about taxis and directions to discover different places around the city. Both of them were wonderful representatives of the hotel.
The cleanliness was outstanding. The room was cleaned every day to a very high standard, the bed was made perfectly, towels were changed regularly, and I did not notice any dust or dirt anywhere. The housekeeping team was very polite, discreet, and did an excellent job.
The room itself was small but very charming, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I loved the attention to detail: there was a kettle with tea facilities, coffee machine, sugar, and a small fridge, which made the stay even more comfortable. The decoration and style gave the room a lovely character.
The location is also excellent. The hotel is very close to the train station and within easy reach of the old town and many restaurants. Thanks to the convenient transport connections, I was able to easily visit places such as Menton, Antibes, and Villefranche-sur-Mer. It is also very easy to reach the airport, with the tram connection taking only a few minutes.
I would highly recommend Hôtel de Berne to anyone visiting Nice. Thank you again to the whole team, especially Lounis and Tiago, for making my stay so pleasant. I hope to return to Nice very soon, and when I do, I will definitely choose to stay here again.

We booked Hotel de Berne for 2 nights which were great. It’s not a 5 star hotel but it works great for the location and price. The bed was comfy and while other reviewers commented on it being loud, our room faced the train station and we slept in until 10. I wouldn’t say noise is an issue but we were there on a Sunday & Monday night. 20 minute walk to Old Town and easy to get around to other areas by foot or public transit. The staff were friendly and we left our bags for a couple of hours after checkout with no issues.

The hotel remains very well suited for a short airport layover, as many other guests have correctly noted. Its location directly opposite the terminal is excellent, the rooms are nicely designed, the beds are very comfortable, and airport noise is hardly noticeable. A room with a balcony and a view can be truly spectacular.
However, the overall service experience has noticeably declined since the management change at the beginning of 2026. Several service elements appear to have been reduced or removed, and this is now affecting the guest experience. For example, the absence of a proper in-room coffee machine. Only a kettle had been provided, feels more consistent with a basic three-star standard than with the expectations normally associated with a Marriott-branded property.
There is also a recurring issue with unpleasant sewage odors in parts of the hotel, depending on wind conditions. At times, this can be quite noticeable and should be addressed urgently.
The hotel has a genuinely strong location advantage, but location alone is not enough. I sincerely hope the new management team, including Dominiek, takes this feedback seriously. Reducing service standards may create short-term savings, but it will inevitably be reflected in guest reviews, lower ratings, and ultimately reduced revenue.
In summary: excellent location, comfortable rooms, and strong airport convenience — but the hotel is currently not being operated at the level one would expect from the Marriott brand.

I had a wonderful stay at Sheraton Nice Airport, and what truly made the experience exceptional was the people.
The entire staff was consistently warm, welcoming, and genuinely committed to making every guest feel at home. Their professionalism was matched by their kindness, creating an atmosphere that made my stay both comfortable and memorable.
I would especially like to recognize Hicham and Igor. Their outstanding hospitality, genuine care, and attention to detail went far beyond expectations. They always greeted us with a smile, took the time to ensure everything was perfect, and made us feel truly valued as guests. It is rare to find people who combine such professionalism with such sincere kindness.
Hicham and Igor are true ambassadors of Sheraton’s hospitality, and they played a huge role in making our stay so memorable.
Thank you to Hicham, Igor, and the entire Sheraton Nice team for making this stay so special. I look forward to returning and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nice.

Disappointing decline in service despite being a loyal guest
I am currently staying at the Sheraton Nice and will be here for another week. I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years, which is why it is especially disappointing to write this review.
Unfortunately, the level of service has declined significantly.
I bought a bottle of red wine in the hotel lobby and called reception to ask for a wine glass. I was told I would have to pay a room service fee just to have a glass delivered to my room. As a paying guest who had purchased the wine from the hotel, I found this disappointing.
I also sent clothes to the laundry. They went missing and were only returned more than 24 hours later, yet I was still charged the full price without any goodwill gesture or apology.
The hotel’s appearance has also deteriorated. The main entrance is surrounded by overgrown trees and dead flowers in the planters, and the pool area looks neglected as well. This is not the standard I have come to expect from a Sheraton hotel.
We also had to point out that the fitness centre had not been cleaned for three days, which should never be the responsibility of guests.
I am writing this review because I genuinely enjoy staying here and hope the hotel will take this feedback seriously. The location is excellent, and the staff are generally friendly, but the overall service and attention to detail are no longer at the level I experienced during my previous stays. I sincerely hope to see improvements, as I would like to continue returning to this hotel.

The good things: location. Easy to arrive from the airport.
Staff/service (in the restaurant) has improved since our last visit
Nice pool area
Beds are comfortable.
Negative:
Inattentive pool staff. Had a dozen empty items around our loungers, no one bothered to collect. However, in the afternoon, a new shift was more attentive - to be fair.
Later that night there was a young boy (semi-long dark blonde hair)waiting on us. He was so professional and even took time for conversations. (Rare these days). He’s a keeper!
food- Very poor quality. Including breakfast. Haven’t had one good meal (out of 10) at this hotel.
Noise. A hotel to avoid if you need sleep.
If it’s not noise from the streets (the airplanes you have to deal with, naturally 😅) then it’s staff moving around furniture at 6 in the morning.
Also, you easily hear doors being opened and shut in the hallway.
Strange smell in the hallways
No amenities in bathroom.
Avoid the lower rooms due to traffic noise.

Our flight to Venice was delayed so we went there to the very nice rooftop terrace for dinner - in the end the flight was cancelled so we ended up staying but only thanks to the incredible Sasha - not only was he a fantastically friendly & efficient waiter but when we heard our flight was cancelled I tried to book a room online but it was sold out - Sasha went downstairs found us the last two rooms even went back down again to add my bonvoy numbers to get all the benefits - rarely seen anything like it!! He was amazing! Only small complaint would be it takes about 20 attempts to get thru to someone on reception but other than that a great place if you need to stay near Nice airport - pool and roof fantastic
Tips for Choosing the Right Hotel in Nice
Selecting the right accommodation requires more than just looking at a star rating; it involves understanding the nuances of the local area and how you intend to spend your days.
The French Riviera has a unique hospitality culture, and knowing a few insider details can save you money and prevent disappointment. Here are some essential tips to keep in mind when booking your stay in Nice.
1). Book far in advance for peak season
Nice is one of the most popular destinations in Europe, and the best rooms—especially those with sea views—sell out months ahead for the summer season (June to August). If you have your heart set on a specific property, secure your reservation as early as possible to avoid inflated rates and limited availability.
2). Do not assume all “beachfront” hotels have sand
The beaches in Nice are primarily composed of smooth pebbles (galets), not sand. While many hotels on the Promenade des Anglais offer private beach clubs with plush loungers and dining service, you will likely need water shoes for comfortable swimming. Check if the hotel provides these or plan to buy a pair locally.
3). Consider the airport tram line for convenience
The L2 and L3 tram lines connect Nice Côte d’Azur Airport directly to the city center. If you are traveling light, staying near a tram stop on Jean Médecin or Massena can be just as convenient as a taxi and significantly cheaper. This is particularly useful for short city breaks.
4). Look beyond the Promenade for value
While a sea view is iconic, it comes at a premium. Hotels located just a block or two inland in the Musiciens or Carabacel districts often offer larger rooms, better rates, and quieter nights. You are still only a five-minute walk from the beach but without the traffic noise of the main road.
5). Verify air conditioning and elevator access
Many charming hotels in Vieux Nice are housed in historic buildings that may lack elevators or modern climate control systems. If you are visiting during the hot summer months or have mobility concerns, always confirm that the property has reliable air conditioning and lift access before booking.
Understanding the rhythm of the city is the final piece of the puzzle. Nice is a place that rewards slow exploration, and returning to a hotel that feels like a sanctuary is essential after a long day of navigating cobblestone streets and sun-drenched plazas.
By prioritizing location, amenities, and the specific character of a property, you ensure that your accommodation enhances the magic of the Riviera rather than detracting from it. Ultimately, the perfect hotel in Nice is the one that allows you to slip effortlessly into the local lifestyle.
Whether you are sipping a coffee on a private balcony overlooking the terracotta rooftops or cooling off in a rooftop pool with the Mediterranean stretching out before you, the right choice will make your trip unforgettable. Take your time, review the options above, and prepare to fall in love with the capital of the Côte d’Azur.
