Palma de Mallorca is far more than a gateway to the Balearic beach resorts; it is a genuine retail destination that blends centuries of mercantile tradition with contemporary Mediterranean style. The capital’s compact historic core makes it uniquely walkable, allowing visitors to drift from medieval courtyards to gleaming concept stores within minutes. Understanding the geography of the city’s commerce helps you plan a trip that balances cultural sightseeing with practical wardrobe updates and souvenir hunting.
While many tourists gravitate toward the obvious high-street names, the true value of shopping here lies in the diversity of the districts. From the artisan workshops hidden in the old Arab quarter to the wide, tree-lined boulevards favored by luxury brands, each zone has a distinct personality and price point. Knowing where to go for handmade leather goods versus international fashion can save you hours of wandering in the Mediterranean heat.
The city’s retail culture is deeply tied to its history as a trading port. For centuries, merchants from North Africa, Italy, and the Spanish mainland brought goods through these streets, a legacy that survives today in the quality of local craftsmanship. Items such as the famous "roba de llengües" fabrics, olive wood products, and the distinctive leather footwear known as "Camper" have roots that run deep into the island’s identity.
Beyond the physical products, shopping in Palma is an architectural experience. Many boutiques occupy former noble houses, where you can look up from a clothing rack to see original wooden beams, stone arches, or a restored fresco. This blend of retail and heritage means that even a quick purchase often comes with a moment of genuine awe.
The practical side of shopping in Palma is equally appealing. The city offers a favorable tax-free environment for non-EU visitors, and many stores provide multilingual service. Whether you are seeking a high-end watch, a unique piece of art, or simply a comfortable pair of sandals for the beach, the quality of service is generally high and unhurried.
To help you navigate the retail landscape efficiently, we have curated a definitive guide to the city’s most compelling commercial zones. The following selection is based on a mix of historical significance, variety of offerings, and the overall experience for the visitor, ensuring you spend less time searching and more time enjoying the city.
From bustling food markets that awaken the senses to quiet lanes dedicated to art galleries, the options below represent the best of what Palma has to offer.

Great shopping Mall. Lots of well known stores. JD Sports, C&A, huge Carrefore. Some places to eat too like Taco Bell.
Amar Enochsson★★★★☆
Ok. So they have Primark witch is freaking brilliant. They have Carrefour where you can find everything. Tried Big Daddys kebab, German owned, which was ok even though the sourdogh bread was not as god as they thought😱😆 it was still really good and you should have a kebab/döner there. They have a lot of parking places and it is quite easy to get there. Been there several times🥰👍🏻

Fan Mallorca is always fun :)) a lot of parking space and also one underground helps a lot during hot summers. Great for families and any kind of shopping. The cinema is also great btw not to forget. If you want to get your nails done there is a very quick service for that. And laundry service. Epilation. I mean, anything you need or want :)) great place!

A lot of fashion stores for middle aged to old people and the food was very disappointing unfortunately, especially the Asian place on the top floor. But it was big and it saved us on a rainy day.

A lovely shopping mall with an adequate amount of parking spaces. Features 2 floors with restaurants located on the top floor. Many retail shops, places to eat and a Carrefour hypermarket can be found here.

Lovely place to shop, and the view from the top is amazing. Whenever anyone visits Mallorca, this is a must visit place for shopping.

This mall is very close to the cruise ship port, so it is easy if you ever need essentials during your cruise, or even shop for gifts from spain/europe like chocolates/wines/olive oils/jam. There's a lot to buy here, from fashion to groceries. They also offer a lot of restaurant and cafes.
Luke Baldacchino★★★★☆
Quite a big mall in the heart of Palma with a cinema and small arcade on the open roof area. It also includes a very big Toys r Us store as well as the usual shops you find in these malls. There are also some good restaurants up on the top floor. The layout is a bit strange as some floors have nothing on them but overall we enjoyed spending an afternoon here.

Nice place to go shopping with great deals, but the bathroom is the nastiest and smelliest bathroom ive ever been to. As soon as you enter is smells like someone has had diarrhea all over the place. I had to hold my breath. It looked clean but the smell is so powerful. I would recommend them to get better air-condition and some smelling sprays in there🤢

A nice open-air outlet with a solid selection of brands. It’s well-organized and easy to walk around. My kids really enjoyed the change of pace here; they love finding good branded clothes and there were plenty of stores to keep them busy. Some decent deals to be found if you look around. The location is very convenient right off the highway with lots of free parking. A good spot for a few hours of shopping if you're looking for specific brands.
patrick muhl★★★★☆
Nice mall with plenty different shops to not get bored. There is something for everyone. From clothes to kitchen stuff, shoes, handbags, jewelery and a couple of food options.
The prices are definering cheaper than I regular shops so maybe come here first before paying more in downtown Palma. 4 stars only because some of the better brands (e.g. Camper) are no longer present.

A firm favourite during my frequent Mallorca trips – today’s visit to the fabulous Mallorca Fashion Outlet did not disappoint 🛍️☀️
A later arrival than normal for us, around 4pm on a Friday afternoon, but actually perfect… lovely and quiet with plenty of space to browse, park and shop without the usual rush.
We kicked things off with coffees and drinks at Bollicine & Co before hitting the stores, followed by another essential coffee stop at Starbucks ☕😉
Highlights of the day? Definitely the gorgeous new Coach outlet… although slightly dangerous for the credit card 💸😂 Absolutely stunning pieces and well worth a visit if you love designer shopping.
Top tip for visitors travelling from outside the EU — don’t forget to ask for Tax Free Shopping at EVERY store as every penny counts 😉 Spain makes it super simple to claim VAT back and there’s currently no minimum spend requirement in many stores.
To successfully claim your refund across the EU, generally you must:• Reside outside the EU• Export the goods within 3 months• Request a tax-free form/digital invoice at purchase• Present your passport in store• Validate forms before leaving the EU (often through DIVA kiosks at the airport)
We also visited some of our usual favourites including Bimba y Lola, Swarovski, Rituals, Boss, Polo Ralph Lauren, Lacoste and El Corte Inglés.
Finished up around 8pm… empty wallet, full car boot 😂🛍️🚗
If you’re visiting Mallorca and fancy a shopping afternoon or evening, this place is always worth adding to the itinerary.

The store and staff are great. But two tvs we bought at the store were delivered and installed today and there is disappointment.
The younger of the two installers was super nice, but the older man was argumentative. We kept telling him that 90cm was too low and he was saying we would hurt our neck if it was higher, at 140cm like we asked (we have a 90cm sideboard on the way).
I was trying to tell him it would not hurt our neck as the couch would be on the other side of the room, but he stopped listening and they installed at 90 anyway. I'm going to have to raise it higher myself I guess.
Why would he think he can decide that? who cares about our necks, just hang it at the height we asked for.
i added a picture to show how dumb it looks, but it looks more dumb in person.
at least its level.
edit: the electronics department continues to be weird. Better to go somewhere else.
The frames for this frame tv finally arrives (well, one of them) and instead of being incluyo like was initially advertised, they charged us 79€ and when I went to look for the signs to show the sales person, they had all been replaced. I know they were there when we bought the tv because that guy even told us, and the signs were still there when we went to check on frames a week later. Now the sale sign is gone.
such bullshit.

We used the parking lot, a lot of free space - was at first difficult to find (needed to make a long round to get to the right side of the street). There is just no price table for the parking before you enter. We found the price reasonable, though. A lot of free and clean toilets. Really easy to pay and leave.

Incredibly rude and aggressive staff. I got the impression that because we were foreign we were targeted by the security and staff for no good reason at all (despite purchasing several items in there). The shop itself is nice and has a good variety of products, but the poor attitude of some staff leaves a lot to be desired.

We visited El Corte Inglés (in Avenida A. Rosselló) in Palma de Mallorca recently. The range of goods and clothes on offer in the store is fabulous. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. My mother had lost a bracelet in the centre of Palma on one day. We has visited the department store the day before and we returned on the off chance that the much treasured bracelet was there.
We shopped a lot. We talked to all the assistants on all the floors and departments we had visited. We even went to the Customer Service department in the basement to ask if anyone had found the bracelet and handed it in. Nothing found (everyone looked for us). We carried on shopping and talking.
We went and had a coffee in the cafeteria on the 5th floor (which is marvellous by the way). Talked some more and wondered about the bracelet. On paying our bill, on the way out, we casually asked the maitre d' if a bracelet had been found at all. He started to say no and then looked in a drawer and lo and behold it was there! Qué maravilla! How wonderful we exclaimed and the nice maitre d' was super happy to have helped us in our search for a much treasured bracelet (owned for 50 years). My mum was over the moon as it had much emotional significance for her.
We bought one last gift, on the way out, and once again that member of staff could not have been more helpful.
We cannot recommend this department store enough for what it has to offer and how they treat you.
Go to Palma de Mallorca and you will have a fantastic time there (as we did). What a wonderful place! I am sure we will return again soon!

Myself and my partner decided to go here on a Sunday as a lot of places were closed. This was a good decision. It's easy to get to either driving or using public transport. There is an abundance of shops here! Keeping yourself occupied is not difficult. There are also plenty of food options and lots for kids to do. The only downside is that it can be very busy. So weather you are in need of some new gear or just fancy a day out, I would recommend this place.

Very central shopping area with a variety of largely traditional clothing stores, bookshops, sweet shops, jewellers etc. A couple of reasonable bars and cafes, plus an increasing number of decent restaurants. It's not the grandest shopping mall, but lots of effort has recently gone into upgrading and improving what was a run down and seedy maze of backstreets. The local businesses are making a huge effort to succeed and survive, and several of the new occupants of Los Geranios have migrated from their long standing premises in the more upmarket areas of Palma, having been driven out by extortionate rents and the plethora of bland, multinational companies, ice cream parlours and eateries that are now dominating the main shopping areas. Therefore, please support the local Mallorquin business in areas such as Los Geranios!!

Galería Geranios is a charming shop located in Palma de Mallorca. This welcoming establishment transports you to a world of beauty and creativity from the moment you step inside. The gallery boasts a wide variety of shops, each with its own unique style and offerings.
From fashion and accessories to art and home decor, Galería Geranios has something for everyone. Its shops carefully showcase a selection of high-quality products, designed by talented local artists and artisans.
The atmosphere at Galería Geranios is welcoming and relaxed, making it the perfect place to explore at your own pace. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to offer advice and recommendations.
In addition to the shops, the gallery also hosts art exhibitions and special events, making it a dynamic and vibrant space. If you're looking for a unique and authentic shopping experience in Palma de Mallorca, Galería Geranios is definitely a place you shouldn't miss.

Very busy and is a little bit messy, good that a security is here but needs more black products and faster cashier workers. It’s humid in here but at least doesn’t smell bad. I would recommend if needing a business or Emily in Paris looks but needs more offers for this store but at the end it’s clean and knows how to speak English, thank you.

Loyal to itself regarding central location, beautiful surroundings, German-oriented trendy selection, very few basics you'd appreciate keeping over years, and too many redondances over the choices, as cloths, as perfumes.
Spacious fitting rooms are easily accessible on each floor. High ceilings give a bit of fresh air in this teeming with people place.
Little offering of special design like the red lips handbag shown in the pics.

One of the best markets in Palma! Much cleaner and better organized than Santa Catalina Market, with an excellent selection of fresh fruit, vegetables, local cheeses, cured meats, and other high-quality products. I also loved the small shops selling beautiful ceramics, wooden kitchen utensils, and traditional Mallorcan decorations. A perfect place to shop like and with the locals, discover regional specialties, or simply enjoy the atmosphere. Definitely my favorite market in Palma!

Mercado de l’Olivar is the best place in Palma if you are looking for fresh seafood, local produce, fresh fruits and veggies, and authentic Mallorcan food culture. The market is clean, lively, and full of high‑quality stalls offering fresh seafood, meat varieties, fruit, vegetables, cheeses, and tapas.
A real highlight: some small vendors will fry your freshly bought seafood on the spot. Even this alone makes the market worth visiting.
Great atmosphere, friendly vendors, and plenty of options for quick bites or full meals. If you’re in Palma, this is a must‑visit for fresh food lovers, seafood fans, and anyone who wants a true local experience.

A vibrant market packed with fresh produce—from fish and cold cuts to fruits and vegetables—along with unique handmade crafts. It’s best to visit shortly after opening to get the absolute best selection, as more and more stalls close as the day goes on. Great local marketplace with separate sea food section is separated from other side of marketplace. Sometimes it is very croudy. Very yummy. Palma de Mallorca is quite rightly one of the most beautiful port cities in the entire Mediterranean.
If you arrive at the right time, and there aren't two, three, or four cruise ships docked in the harbor, strolling through the many charming alleyways or sitting in one of the numerous cozy cafés is pure pleasure.
For tourists staying elsewhere in Mallorca and arriving by car, I recommend arriving early, before the rush for parking begins.
Enjoy it, and take your time; the city truly deserves it.

Primark at FAN Mallorca Shopping is a must-visit. It's the best place if you are looking for trendy items at very affordable prices without compromising on style. What I like most is that it's not as busy as the one in Barcelona, making it much easier to shop and move around. Highly recommended for budget-friendly shopping!"

Tips for Shopping in Palma de Mallorca
Shopping in a Mediterranean city requires a slightly different rhythm than in northern Europe or the United States. The hours are dictated by the sun and the sacred tradition of the siesta, and the best deals often require a bit of local knowledge. To ensure your retail experience is seamless and rewarding, consider the following practical advice before you hit the cobblestones.
Plan around the siesta. Most independent boutiques and family-run shops close between 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM or 5:00 PM. Use this window to enjoy a long lunch or return to your hotel, as only the large department stores and international chains on the Avenidas tend to remain open all day. Save your browsing for the cooler morning hours or the vibrant early evening "paseo."
Understand the tax-free process. If you are a resident outside the European Union, you are entitled to a VAT refund (IVA) on purchases over a certain threshold, typically around €90. Always ask for the "Tax Free" form when paying. You will need to validate these forms at the kiosks in the airport before checking your luggage, so keep your purchases accessible.
Look for the local crafts distinction. To avoid buying mass-produced souvenirs, look for items marked with the "Made in Mallorca" label or inquire about the origin of the goods. Authentic local products, such as leather goods from Inca, blown glass, or salt from the Salinas d’Es Trenc, support the island’s economy and offer far better quality than imported trinkets.
Dress for the weather and the terrain. The best shopping areas are largely pedestrianized and paved with polished stone, which can become slippery when wet and hot in the sun. Wear comfortable, non-slip footwear. Light layers are also advisable, as the narrow shaded streets of the old town can be significantly cooler than the open plazas.
Embrace the market days. While permanent shops are excellent, the rotating open-air markets offer a unique atmosphere. If your visit aligns with a market day in a specific neighborhood or nearby town, prioritize it. You will often find local farmers, artisans, and vintage sellers gathered in one place, offering prices that are more negotiable than in fixed storefronts.
Shopping in Palma is ultimately an exercise in discovery. It is not simply about acquiring objects but about engaging with the texture of the city, the pride of its shopkeepers, and the quality of light that makes the merchandise gleam. As you walk from a bustling plaza to a silent courtyard, you will find that the city’s retail spaces are as much a part of its culture as its cathedral or its coastline.
Whether you leave with a bag full of designer clothes or simply a small piece of local pottery, the memory of the experience—the scent of leather, the coolness of a stone archway, the friendly negotiation over a price—will stay with you long after you return home.
