15 Best Nightlife Spots in Palma

When the sun dips behind the Serra de Tramuntana, Palma de Mallorca sheds its daytime skin of sunbaked plazas and museum queues to reveal a vibrant, sophisticated nocturnal pulse. The island capital is far more than a gateway to the beach resorts; it is a cosmopolitan hub where Mediterranean cool meets Spanish late-night tradition. From the labyrinthine alleys of the Old Town to the breezy promenades lining the marina, the city offers a diverse array of after-dark experiences that cater to every mood and tempo.

Whether you are a wine connoisseur seeking natural vintages, a cocktail enthusiast looking for a speakeasy vibe, or a dancer ready to embrace the sunrise, Palma delivers with undeniable style. The local culture leans toward a late start, with bars filling up after 11 PM and clubs not peaking until well past midnight. Understanding this rhythm is the first step to unlocking an authentic Mallorcan night out that prioritizes conversation, quality, and atmosphere.

The geography of Palma’s nightlife is distinct, segmented into distinct districts that each possess their own character. The historic center, particularly around the Plaça de la Drassana and the narrow streets of La Llotja, is the beating heart of the scene. Here, centuries-old stone walls house contemporary cocktail bars and lively tapas joints where the energy spills out onto the cobblestones, creating a convivial, almost festival-like atmosphere every weekend.

Further afield, the Santa Catalina neighborhood offers a more bohemian and local-centric vibe. Once the old fishing quarter, it has transformed into the city’s trendiest enclave, packed with bustling market-fresh restaurants and unpretentious bars. It is the perfect starting point for an evening, allowing you to graze on local delicacies before transitioning into the later hours.

For those drawn to the water, the Paseo Marítimo offers a different flavor entirely. This long strip facing the port is where you will find the larger, more established clubs and high-energy venues. It is a place of glitz and glamour, where the bass reverberates across the water and the party continues until dawn, attracting both locals and international visitors looking for a full-throttle experience.

Choosing the right spot is essential to maximizing your evening, as the quality and style of venues vary wildly. The best nights often involve a "bar crawl" strategy, moving between distinct locations to experience the evolution of the evening. It is a city that rewards exploration, encouraging you to step away from the main tourist drags and peek into the hidden courtyards and unmarked doorways where the true magic of Palma resides.

Below is a curated selection of the city’s most compelling after-dark destinations, ranging from intimate hideaways to grand-scale dance floors. This list prioritizes venues with a strong reputation for quality, service, and atmosphere, ensuring that your time in the Balearic capital is memorable for all the right reasons.

We waited in the queue and paid £10 per person to enter. Once inside, the venue was extremely overcrowded, with barely any room to move around or enjoy the night. The biggest issue came when we stepped outside for a cigarette. We politely asked if one of us could keep an eye on our drinks, as we were concerned about them being tampered with as women, but the bouncer was dismissive and physically pushed us out instead of helping. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and not somewhere I would choose to visit again.

We waited in the line 15 min, but I didn't like the fact that a big group of locals just talked to the bouncer and one of the waitress and let them in without making any line. Once we were in, the music stopped a couple of times for a while a lot of people left. I went to the gentlemen toilet , someone had a pretty bad "diarrhea episode" and just left it there, pretty nasty, past the message bad no body really cared about it. We tried to go to the roof ,one of the bouncer told us that it was closed, we managed to sneak us up , it was full of people, left pretty disappointed.

Today I went to Kalam's palanquin. I always go to the adjacent hotel, Kubabar. I went for the first time in my life to celebrate New Year's, because Kubabar was full. They charged me 15 euros and said I had one free drink. There were five other guys with me. But when I approached the receptionist, the bartender, after a quarter of an hour, asking for a drink, they refused. "There's no trick for you. There's no drink for 15 euros." When I asked them, "Why aren't there? You had already written it down," they said, "No, sir, you go out." They threw us, five guys, out. They took 75 rupees for five guys, but nothing for us. They threw us out. I urge you not to go there, to the bar, and to somewhere so good. Never go there with a bird in your head. This is my experience. Don't go anywhere there." Secorty gard me push me

We loved it here. Marta was amazing. She showed us the best time. If you want a roof top experience in Palma, come here and ask for Martha, you won’t be disappointed xxx

Good drinks at a fair price and a nice view from the terrace. Waitress could be friendlier. Bathrooms are a nightmare (no lock, broken toilet seat, no toilet paper, no soap, no water)!!

Very disappointing experience. On the first night, a blonde waitress took our order and charged us 30 for two shots. The next night, we ordered exactly the same drinks, but her colleague charged us only 15. I have worked as a waitress in a nightclub, so I know very well how these things work. The difference was not a mistake. My personal impression was that she saw two well-dressed women and assumed she could overcharge us without us noticing. Unfortunately for her, she chose the wrong customers. We immediately noticed the inconsistency and confirmed the real price the following night. Because of this experience, I would advise customers to always ask for prices in advance and carefully check their bill. I cannot recommend this place if this kind of behavior is tolerated.
Alessia Filip★☆☆☆☆
Paid €8 for a bottled beer and €9 for a shot . The music was really bad, the place is very small, and when I asked for a drinks menu, I was told there wasn’t one. I came here before in march and I definitely don’t remember the prices being this high Looking at other reviews, it seems like the prices change all the time, which doesn’t feel very transparent The only good thing was the girls at the entrance, who were really friendly and nice to us

The best club! My vacation in Mallorca was remembered thanks to this place! We danced all night until the morning, drank very tasty cocktails, and the guys there are just incredibly cool, we met a lot of guys and girls. If I fly to Mallorca again, I'll come to this club! I regret that I didn't come earlier. We gave 32 € for 3 cocktails

If you’re looking for somewhere that places RnB, hop hop, dancehall, acrobeats and those genres, this is the place to go. Drinks are fairly priced and short walk from the harbour.

Brooklyn is easily one of the best spots in Palma’s Santa Catalina district. It offers a perfect balance with its two-level concept: a classy, industrial-chic cocktail bar upstairs—ideal for high-quality drinks in a dimly lit, intimate setting—and an energetic underground club downstairs. The music curation is excellent, focusing on underground house and techno with a great sound system and immersive LED lighting. Unlike many rowdy spots in the city, the crowd here is mature and focused on the music. The staff is professional and the entry is often free, which is a huge plus given the quality of the DJs. Whether you’re looking for a well-crafted cocktail to start the night or a solid dance floor to end it, this place delivers. A must-visit for electronic music lovers.

Oh, what an unforgettable experience! If you’re ever wandering through Palma and thinking, “Hey, I’d love to be emotionally neglected while spending money,” look no further. This place absolutely nails the art of making customers feel like an intrusion. The service? Positively arctic. Behind the counter stand individuals who exude all the warmth of a malfunctioning fridge. No smiles, no greetings—just a dead-eyed stare that says, “Leave before I actually have to engage with you.” It’s truly a talent to look that miserable while doing so little. And the aesthetic? Let’s just say, it’s rare to witness such a concentrated lack of joy in human form. The staff wear their bitterness like a uniform, and their expressions are so consistently sour, you almost start to wonder if joy is banned behind the counter. Honestly, they seem so burdened by your mere presence, you half-expect them to gently claw you back out the door with a look of deep personal offense. It’s almost poetic. But credit where it’s due: the music is actually fantastic. A real shame it’s being held hostage in a venue that otherwise feels like the emotional waiting room of the underworld.

Free entrance, chill club vibes with a single room. Can’t complain

Best place for Techno lovers in downtown Palma (though during the high season they might program some main stream evenings during week ends). Free entry, very well provided American bar, cool barman (self service), happy people. We even lost a wallet there and we got it back the day after!

My wife and I came just for drinks in the evening...so we didn't try the food. The two cocktails were delicious and of course expensive...which didn't surprise us. The place exudes exclusivity and probably attracts a clientele with deeper pockets. The service was correct and the atmosphere was calm and pleasant. The airplanes disturb the peace a bit...but they also give it a kind of cosmopolitan charm. In any case, a pleasant place.

We had an exceptionell day at Purobeach as a family in the pre season. The food was amazing and the sunbeds perfect! Thank you James and the whole team for such a special day☀️ We will come back:-)

Overall, our time at Puro Beach was nice. We were satisfied with the food and the staff; they were friendly and welcoming. However, one small thing that could be improved is that it would be nice if they came by occasionally to ask if we needed anything, because whenever we wanted to order something we had to get up and call someone. Apart from that, we were generally satisfied. Thank you.

This is a very, very popular Cocktail bar that exclusively serves, Cocktails and Champagne in a very luxurious setting of either a Garden or air conditioned bar area. They also serve glorious pastries and dessert’s but no entree’s or salads. Opens at exactly 2000hrs or 8.00pm every night and open till 0100hrs every night which extends to 0300hrs Friday & Saturday’s. Worth a visit at least once when in Palma. Two Manhattan’s totalling €34.00. Great tasting and a good size.

My Sister said you must visit and so glad we did. Amazing bar. Quirky, colourful and old Manor style. Well run, Waiter meeting at door showing you to a table, which is perfect as your eyes are everywhere and you want to stand still and take in the ambiance of it all. Yes a must visit. Opens at 8.00 pm and by 8.30 pm full.

You have to queue to get in and it's full of tourists, but this bar is great fun for post-dinner drinks. The decor is amazing and you

Great place! Very instagramable! The entrance sign says not to take pictures of the main entrance as its intended to surprise guests on their visit but main terrace is very beautiful. Cocktails are strong and large! You dont need more than 2 drinks here! 4 stars for the atmosphere as the music can be quite loud but somehow works!

Yes yes yes! Loved this bar and has a great ambiance for pre dinner drinks. Friday night tip-arrive 20-30 min before opening to get in the queue if you want to sit out in the garden. We arrived at 8:00 PM and waited about 20-25 minutes for an outdoor table.

We walked by on our way to La Vasca and decided to get a drink after dinner. ESPRESSO MARTINI and Averna sour were 👍 🥰 perfectly. Atmospheric Cocktail Bar with Live Music A place with real character. You walk in and the mood shifts right away: dim lighting, live music setting exactly the right tone. The cocktails are made with soul — you can tell the bartenders know their craft, not just following a template. Service is on point: attentive without being pushy. A great spot to spend the evening under live sound with a good drink in hand. Will definitely be back

Beautiful bar. You can book or if the door man is around he'll let you in. It's worth it. The cocktails are delicious, service is impeccable and the atmosphere is delightful. We had a lovely band from South America singing classic Spanish songs and some nice guitar solos too.

Really lovely bar with classic styling, including fantastic murals. The drink choices are extensive, mainly spirits from Spain and some other countries. To my tastes, maybe more vermouth options would make sense. The place was dog friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed enough for them. A mix of locals having a beer after work, young students and tourists all mingling together. It is maybe worth noting that the menus here on Google reviews seem out of date, and food options are now only platters of meats and cheeses, no sandwiches are offered.
Maruf Hossen★★★★★
The environment here is truly vibrant and full of energy. You can't help but feel comfortable and at ease, making it such an enjoyable experience. It's clear why so many people love this place! Plus, they offer a selection of soft drinks to enhance your time, and I highly recommend trying the tonic premium soft drinks. They really add to the enjoyment!

I'm shocked at the negative reviews. Myself and my Partner ended up visiting this Bar every day during our stay. The Bar Staff/Waitresses were amazing and very attentive. The drinks were fantastic and the atmosphere was amazing. This place really made our stay and we're so glad we actually listened to the positive reviews. We'd happily book another trip just to visit The Gibson Bar again. Keep up the good work and hopefully see you all again soon 👍 😊

We stumbled upon this bar completely by accident and, as always, the best places are the ones you find when you’re not looking. A hidden gem in Palma de Mallorca! This bar has serious retro vibes vintage mirrors, neon lights, old-school hair dryers turned into decor… every corner feels like a scene from a movie. Super cozy and full of personality. The coolest part? There’s an actual Nintendo 64 on the table, and you can just sit back, grab a cocktail, and play. It’s the kind of place you stop by for a drink and end up staying for hours. Perfect for a chill night out, a fun date, or anyone who loves quirky, offbeat places with soul. 100% recommend!

This cocktail bar was recommended to me by a local on my first day in Mallorca. Managed to get there a couple of days later. It is probably one of the best cocktail bars I’ve ever been to. I had a whiskey highball which I haven’t had before. It was very good and really refreshing after a hot day. I then had a Bloody Mary which was the perfect. I asked for it savoury rather than spicy and it was delicious and included an olive with frozen cheese inside which kept the drink cool until the end. If in Palma and you like cocktails then this is the best place to go. Highly recommended.
Danielle Long★★★★★
Can’t say enough good things about this place! Drinks are crafted, not thrown together, the menu swings from classic to refreshingly inventive, and the vibe somehow matches whatever mood you’re in. Use the to-go window if you must, but honestly, you’ll be missing out — the real magic is the staff. Tomas, Brian, and Isidro are warm, welcoming, and ridiculously knowledgeable. They can talk you through every drink on the menu, and in the unlikely event you don’t see what you’re after, they’ll ask a few questions and whip up something that hits. (Creativity behind the bar is clearly encouraged - Brian’s San Valentín ‘Velvet Rose’ had us coming back the next night for more.) This spot is a neighborhood gem, but really, it’s worth the trip from anywhere — it is a must-visit if you’re ever in Palma.

A must-visit for any sports fan! This is a fantastic sports bar with a brilliant atmosphere and everything you could want for a proper day or night watching sport. There are multiple screens throughout the venue, showing all sorts of different sports at the same time, so you’re never short of something to watch. The amount of signed sports memorabilia around the bar is fantastic too. There’s loads to look at, and it really adds to the character and atmosphere of the place. A special mention has to go to the owner, who was absolutely fantastic. He makes a real effort to check in with customers, have a chat and make everyone feel genuinely welcome. That personal touch makes a huge difference. The food was excellent. I only tried the fully loaded nachos, but they were some of the best nachos I’ve eaten. The portion was absolutely huge — easily enough for two people — and loaded with plenty of toppings. The burgers coming out to other tables looked amazing as well and were clearly a very popular choice. The prices were really reasonable too, especially considering the generous portions and quality of the food. It felt like excellent value for money. Even the seating deserves a mention — the benches were really well padded and surprisingly comfortable, which is important when you’re settling in to watch a few hours of sport! Overall, a brilliant sports bar with great food, reasonable prices, a fantastic atmosphere and genuinely friendly service. If you’re a sports fan, this place is definitely worth a visit. I’ll certainly be going back!

On New Year’s Eve we ended up at Hoogans by chance, and it was a great decision. It’s a typical British bar with a really good atmosphere, a nice mix of people, and good music that adds to the lively vibe. We had burgers, each of us choosing a different one, and they were honestly excellent. You can tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. A very positive experience overall. We’ll definitely be back soon.

Great beachfront location with beautiful sunset views The appitizer was good and well-prepared, and the cocktails were excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive despite the restaurant being busy. Prices were slightly high, but the atmosphere and quality made it worthwhile. I’d definitely visit again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The venue/location is really nice as it is literally on the beach next to Palma city center. However: the food is BAD and compared to other restaurants very overpriced. (Large beer is 0.28 cl) I definitely do not recommend

The location of Anima Beach Palma is absolutely outstanding and unique. There is no better place to sit right by the water, enjoy the excellent view, and simply savor the moment. It is a real pleasure to spend the entire day here, as you can relax wonderfully on the comfortable sun loungers. It is particularly pleasing that good music is still played here—something that, unfortunately, is no longer the case at many other cafés due to cost-cutting measures. It is a wonderful place to spend time, day after day.

A beautiful bar with good ambient and a nice view to the ocean. Perfect place for a short break and drinking or for spending some time at night. Personal was also very friendly and one lady gave us perfect drinks after complaining about the quality.

Great cocktail making experience with Mattia. He was very experienced and made it fun for everyone of our group, fluent in English and Italian 👍 We came for a bachelorette party with 7 girls and were not disappointed!

Extremely nice place! Amazing Decor and great vibe! Like many places in Palma, it runs on the small side. Expert cocktails by trained staff! Average 10 - 15€ per cocktail.

We happened upon this bar whilst wondering the streets and then remembered chatgpt had told us this is a "hidden gem", it really is great in here. So much so we visited it again another night. The friendly bar tenders (one of which is the owner) could not have done more to make us feel welcome. The music is played by anyone and everyone and you can join in if you like. We loved it here.

The ambience of this bar is just great. The beers and long drinks all taste good and are also fantastic in terms of price. But the highlight of the bar is definitely the owner himself. He has such a great manner and is great to talk to. He has his own witty manner and just makes the evening better. It was our favourite bar on our holiday because there was such a great atmosphere. Definitely the best bar we've been to so far. so a clear recommendation and the next time we're in mallorca we'll definitely come back here!

We finally found one of the best of Palma’s nightlife, and by "finally," I mean on our absolute last night in town. Because of course we did. Agua is an absolute gem. The drinks and service were excellent, the owner made us very welcome. Our only complaint? The universe cruelest joke of saving the best for last. If you are in Palma, go here on night one so you don't spend your flight home regretting all your life choices like we did!

We stumbled upon this place one night and had a blast! Assuming it was a slow night, we were treated with respect and spent a decent amount of money there. The bartender Jose was very kind and showed our group love. Unfortunately, we visited a second time on a more busy night and our experience was the complete opposite. We were disrespected repeatedly by the older guy with the ponytail. At first, we assumed he was only joking, but once he started to raise his voice and become more aggressive, we left immediately and gladly took our money and patronage elsewhere.

Hidden gem we found when visiting Palma. This place is amazing if you like older rock music. Bartender was very friendly. Overall great place. Will definitely be back.

Essential Tips for Enjoying Palma’s Nightlife

Navigating the nightlife in Palma requires a bit of local knowledge to ensure the experience is seamless and enjoyable. The city operates on a unique timetable, and the etiquette can differ significantly from other European capitals. By preparing accordingly, you can avoid common tourist pitfalls and blend in with the sophisticated local crowd.

Dress to Impress, but Keep it Mediterranean
Palma is a stylish city, and many of the higher-end bars and clubs enforce a smart-casual dress code, especially on weekends. While you don’t need a suit, beachwear, flip-flops, and sports jerseys are generally frowned upon after dark. Opt for smart shoes, tailored shorts or trousers, and a crisp shirt to ensure you get past the door at the more exclusive venues.

Embrace the Late Schedule
The single biggest mistake visitors make is heading out too early. Dinner typically begins around 9:00 PM or 10:00 PM, with bars not getting busy until 11:00 PM or midnight. If you arrive at a club before 1:00 AM, you will likely find it empty. Take an afternoon siesta if necessary, and pace yourself for a night that is designed to last until sunrise.

Respect the Local Noise Etiquette
While the Old Town is lively, it is also a residential area. When moving between bars, be mindful of your volume, especially in the narrow, echoing streets. Many bars are strict about patrons remaining inside the venue after a certain hour rather than spilling onto the street. Keeping the noise down in residential doorways ensures the neighborhood retains its charm and keeps the local authorities happy.

Start with a "Tardeo"
To experience the city like a local, consider starting your evening earlier in the Santa Catalina district or around Plaça de la Navegación. The culture of "tardeo"—an afternoon-to-early-evening social session—is huge here. It allows you to enjoy excellent wine and tapas in a more relaxed setting before the high-energy crowds arrive later in the night.

Plan Your Transportation
While walking is the best way to get between Old Town and Santa Catalina, reaching the Paseo Marítimo clubs or returning to your hotel late at night requires planning. Taxis can be scarce during peak hours (3:00 AM – 5:00 AM). Save the number of a local radio taxi service or ensure you have a data connection for ride-hailing apps to avoid a long wait on the curb.

The true allure of Palma after dark lies in its versatility and its refusal to be defined by a single style of entertainment. You can spend one evening sipping organic wines in a candlelit medieval courtyard and the next dancing under lasers to world-class DJs. It is this seamless blend of the historic and the hedonistic that sets the city apart from its island neighbors.

As you wander through the illuminated stone streets, you quickly realize that the nightlife here is not just about drinking; it is a social ritual. It is about sharing plates, lingering over conversations, and appreciating the art of a well-made drink. By venturing out with an open mind and a willingness to follow the energy of the crowd, you will discover that the nights in Palma are just as vibrant and memorable as the sun-drenched days.
