12 Pharmacies in Palma City Centre

Finding a reliable pharmacy while navigating the narrow, winding streets of Palma’s Old Town can be surprisingly stressful, especially if you are dealing with an unexpected headache, a child’s fever, or a lost prescription.

While the city is packed with amenities, knowing exactly where to go for professional health advice saves you valuable time and energy during your stay or daily routine.

The good news is that Palma de Mallorca boasts a dense network of highly trained pharmacists who are accustomed to assisting both residents and international visitors.

Unlike in some countries where you must see a doctor for minor ailments, Spanish pharmacists can often provide expert advice and dispense medication for common, uncomplicated conditions.

This guide focuses specifically on the core of the city, providing a curated list of accessible locations to ensure you are never far from the care you need.

Whether you are a digital nomad living near Plaza España or a tourist exploring the Cathedral, this resource will help you locate a trusted healthcare professional quickly.

Below is a curated selection of centrally located establishments where you can expect professional service and, in most cases, English-speaking staff.

We arrived in Palma missing some vital medical supplies. Fortunately we visited this pharmacy where a wonderful lady helped us get the item we needed and saved our holiday (despite our complete lack of Spanish language knowledge!). Wonderful and helpful staff. Thankyou!

I'd forgotten to take my hayfever tablet and was far from the hotel in Palma when all the tree pollen started falling and I needed an antihistamine ASAP! Of course this being Spain there are pharmacies every 10 metres, and thank God there was as the lady in this store understood what I was looking for and spoke good English (I did apologise first in Spanish that my Spanish was very bad, and she immediately switched to English!) and she was able to give me a pack of 7 antihistamines for hayfever. The service was great, very friendly staff and they saved me a day of itchy, red, puffy eyes and constant sneezing! As a side note: If you're from the UK where you're used to so many drugs being available on the shelves, in Spain they keep it almost all behind the desk and they will get it for you, even simple painkillers. So the pharmacies do have it all, no prescription, but you can't just grab it from the shelf yourself!
Tommy Zěitgeist★☆☆☆☆
Strict about prescriptions. Wouldn't sell to foreigners.

The best pharmacy in Palma - very knowledgeable, professional and kind pharmacists who go out of their way to assist. Highly recommend.

Last night, at 2:30 am leaving the hospital with the doctor's prescription, the guy tried to charge me the total amount of medicine, 20€. When I complained about the price, he told me that the card doesn't work, to go back to the hospital to ask for a physical prescription My wife has a fever of 38.5°C I asked him to write down the code on my hand and seeing that I was getting stubborn, he did so and miraculously it worked, I paid 8€ but I have to claim the ticket because it didn't work. Luckily he apologized because I was about to ask for the claims form. The feeling was that he had some gossip in his hands. Add that I look like a sun-baked gyro and easy to fool. Or maybe it was because he pretended not to understand my Catalan? I'm very sorry, I don't speak Mallorcan, at the moment, neither does he

Excellent customer service. Went the other day and the lady from cosmetics (anabela?) was great. Awesome recommendations.

I have been twice and the experience was equally bad. The prices are high and the consulting was bad. In the end I asked chat gpt what I was supposed to take because the pharmacist was of no help.

I came in two times with a bad infection from a jellyfish sting. They gave me the totally wrong stuff and had not really a clue how to deal with it. I was asking what to do and asked for big plain dressing which are absorbing. Wasted a lot of money in an unfriendly location and got sorted out so much better in Clinica Juaneda.
Gerald Muriel (Temiatwork)★★★★★
Helpful pharmacist here for an emergency medication.

Beware of this place! They charged my card in GBP at a ridiculous exchange rate without asking. They are required to ask you if you want to be charged in EUR or your local currency but they don't do it here - this is known as Dynamic Currency conversion and is a scam. Avoid if you can.

Hello, this morning I bought Bisolvon cough syrup. When I opened it, the cap was faulty. When I spoke to the staff to exchange the product, the response from three employees (one woman and two men) was unpleasant and lacked basic human decency. I request a refund for the syrup they kept. Most importantly, they didn't include the pharmacy's information or stamp. This constitutes a complete failure of professional, legal, and human standards. I expect the owner to refund my money and bring order to the pharmacy.
Toni P★★★★★
I recently had the opportunity to visit Farmacia Munar Masot in Palma de Mallorca, and my experience was very positive. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the welcoming and professional atmosphere. The staff was friendly and very attentive; they took the time to listen to my needs and offer personalized recommendations. The pharmacy was well-stocked with a wide variety of products, from medications to personal care and beauty items. I was struck by the cleanliness and organization of the shelves, which made it easy to find what I was looking for. Another aspect I greatly appreciated was the speed of service. Despite several people waiting, the queue moved quickly and efficiently. The pharmacists demonstrated in-depth knowledge, not only when dispensing medications but also when offering health and wellness advice.
Kinga Lovász★★★★☆
I think it's great that sometimes I meet German/English speaking staff there 😇
Carolina Bullejos Cursach★★★★★
I want to mention Javier, an employee at Munar Masot pharmacy, for his professionalism and kindness. He's an exceptional professional. I called him in a huge rush because I needed some eye drops for surgery, and he took the time to call me back and find a solution. Thank you so much, Javier. I wish there were more people like him.

I always come to this pharmacy but this morning with a terrible migraine, I almost crawled to the store…I had bad luck to get a lady that was working and was super awful. I had bought liquid medication there before and she was giving me such a hard time because I couldn’t remember the brand she wouldn’t offer any solutions or anything. I ended up, leaving and having to go to another place when I barely made it to this clinic to begin with horrible service this morning! I am shocked!

You'll probably find everything you'd expect from a pharmacy here. They have supplements and offer personalized advice, not to mention their comprehensive range of dermocosmetics and sun care products. They're also highly recommended for piercing babies' ears; Teresa and Cati make a great team. Thanks to all their staff ☺️
Eva Tudela★★★★★
I have to leave a review because it was an outstanding experience. I couldn't find a medication I needed, and they offer the option to check stock via message. After receiving a response, the service in the store was impeccable. They are incredibly kind and try to help with everything. Grateful and happy!
Silvia Sylvie★★★★★
I placed my order via WhatsApp and my experience with Tessa has been impeccable: friendly and professional. I've already received my products very quickly and with free samples. 100% recommended!! 👌🏼
Álvaro Vázquez★★★★★
I had an in-person consultation with Teresa, the owner, where, based on the lab results you bring (you have to ask her to send you what she needs beforehand) and what you tell her, she recommends specific supplements based on completely objective criteria. I recommend her 100%. Oh, and after the consultation, she continues to answer any questions you may have, either in person or via email.

Excellent and very professional staff! I have been coming for many years to this farmacy for my personal needs and for professional purposes like sorting out first aid kits for a yacht. They are super fast and very efficient with their advices. We had a course for the crew -on how to use everything in our kit- organised and done at the farmacy. I am content with the way it was performed, very useful and I would recommend it to everyone! Special thanks to Alexandra!
Shima Ghamari★★★★★
I have been seeing Meri for consultations about my skin and skincare products to get for a while now. She has totally transformed my skin through her genuine and caring advise on how/what and with which products. She also offered me a facial after my last purchase. It was beautiful yet again, subtle, present and I left glowing. Cannot recommend her enough! Thanks Meri 🤩
Florien Van vliet★★★★★
I can’t recommend Farmacia Progres enough. They help me every year with updating of the extensive medical kit of the yacht I work on. They take so much care in supplying the right medicines. They are very professional, answer all my questions and never let me down. It just takes a couple of days to get all our kits back. Lists updated with new expiry dates. They even speak perfect English. 100% recommended.

Very professional, they really know and advise incredibally well on nautical medical kits. Special thanks to Emi who has done a great job and has had a lot of patience explaining and preparing our order.

Tips for Visiting a Pharmacy in Palma

Navigating the healthcare system in a new country can feel daunting, but utilizing a local pharmacy in Spain is usually a very straightforward and welcoming experience. By understanding a few local customs and practical rules, you can ensure your visit is efficient and that you receive the correct care without any unnecessary friction or confusion.

1. Look for the Green Cross

In Spain, pharmacies are not identified by large corporate logos but by a universal symbol: a green cross, often animated or illuminated. If you are searching on foot, scanning the facades of buildings for this cross is the fastest way to spot one, even from a distance.

2. Check the On-Duty Roster (Farmacia de Guardia)

If you need medication late at night or on a Sunday, a regular pharmacy might be closed. However, Spanish law requires a "Farmacia de Guardia" (duty pharmacy) to remain open 24/7 in every district. You can find the list of these open locations posted on the door of any closed pharmacy or by checking local apps.

3. Bring Your EHIC or Insurance Details

If you are an EU citizen with a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), bring it with you to receive the same pricing conditions as Spanish residents. For non-EU visitors, travel insurance details are useful, though you will typically pay out of pocket for medication and claim later.

4. Don’t Expect Over-the-Counter Antibiotics

Spanish pharmacists are highly regulated and will not dispense antibiotics without a physical prescription from a doctor. While they can recommend treatments for colds, pain, or stomach issues, attempting to buy antibiotics without a prescription will be politely refused.

5. Ask for the "Generic" Option

If a pharmacist prescribes or recommends a specific brand name, it is perfectly acceptable—and often wise—to ask if a "genérico" (generic) is available. Generic medications in Spain are strictly regulated and significantly cheaper, offering the exact same active ingredients as their brand-name counterparts.

Palma’s city centre is well-equipped to handle the health needs of its diverse population and visitors. The pharmacies listed above are known for their central locations and commitment to patient care, ensuring that help is usually just a short walk away.

Whether you need a specific prescription filled or simply require advice on managing sunburn after a day at the beach, do not hesitate to step inside and ask for help. The pharmacists in Palma are highly educated medical professionals whose primary goal is to ensure your wellbeing while you are in their beautiful city.
