Torrevieja’s cafe scene has quietly become one of the most enjoyable parts of daily life on the southern Costa Blanca. What was once a simple stop for a morning espresso has evolved into a vibrant mix of specialty roasters, beachfront terraces, and family-run pastry shops. Whether you live here year-round or are visiting for a short holiday, the city offers a surprising range of places to sit, sip, and watch the world go by.
The best cafes in Torrevieja are not just about caffeine. They are social hubs where locals discuss the news, remote workers open laptops, and families gather for a late-afternoon merienda. You will find traditional Spanish bars serving thick hot chocolate alongside modern minimalist spaces pouring single-origin filter coffee. This variety means there is truly something for every taste and budget.
Location plays a big role in the cafe experience here. Many of the most beloved spots are within walking distance of the marina, the lively promenade, or the quieter residential neighborhoods. A sea breeze, a shaded terrace, and a well-made cortado can turn a simple break into a memorable part of your day. Knowing where to go saves you time and helps you avoid tourist traps with inflated prices.
Quality and consistency matter more than ever in Torrevieja’s competitive hospitality market. The cafes that survive and thrive are those that respect the product, from the freshness of the milk to the origin of the beans. Several establishments now roast their own coffee or source from small Spanish roasters, bringing a new level of craftsmanship to the area.
This guide focuses on places that offer excellent drinks, welcoming atmospheres, and good value. I have visited each location multiple times, at different hours of the day, to assess not only the menu but also the service, cleanliness, and overall vibe. The goal is to give you a reliable shortlist that reflects the true character of the city.
Whether you need a quick takeaway before heading to the beach or a comfortable corner for a two-hour breakfast, the following recommendations cover all scenarios. Each entry includes practical details about what makes it special, so you can choose based on your mood and location.
Below, you will find a curated selection of the twelve best cafes in Torrevieja, each offering something distinct and worth seeking out.

Very bad coffee ! I ordered a cappuccino and it's a simple coffee with milk with a disgusting taste! Maybe it's tap water! VERY Expensive and not tasty at all! I don't advice people to go there! Never again ! Look dirty hope I'll not have a diarea 😔
Lynsey Ross★★★★★
For a newly opened coffee shop, this has matched my expectations. Service was 10/10. Very friendly and helpful. The Dubai iced latte was lovely and pistachio cream filled croissant was fresh and delicious. Decent value for money. Would return for sure.

Incredible menu and tastes even better than it looks. Had the Benedict Toastada and will be back again and again!

We went here today and the staff were amazing. They really helped us with our order and even helped me with my terrible Spanish pronunciation. Excellent place for a coffee and a bite to eat. The staff make it a worthwhile visit. I would recommend it to everyone.

The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, made with fresh ingredients, and the coffee was excellent. The place has a great atmosphere and is definitely worth a visit. The only area that could be improved is the service, as it could be a bit faster and more efficient. Overall, a great experience, and I would happily come back!
Dillon Lynch★★★★★
If your ever in Torrevieja even for a day I highly recommend you take a dander over to Blur.
Beautiful washed Costa Rican from Nomad on espresso which paired with milk for a flat white was super smooth and light.
Staff super friendly and for someone who doesn’t speak great Spanish we’re very accommodating and welcoming.
Evgeniia Rozhkova★★★★★
I liked everything! The cottage cheese with toppings and berries were top notch! The coffee quality is excellent! My daughter ordered a matcha latte - she approved too! I highly recommend you to visit!

Wow! What an amazing little gem. Have been looking for this kind of place in Torrevieja for a long time. This is not only a cafe, it’s a VIBE! Food is delicious, clean, tasty and beautiful plating. The coffee is rumored to be the best in the area and I totally agree.
The owners and staff care about quality and it’s obvious. Prices are slightly higher than most Spanish places, but the quality makes it worth it!
This will be our new favorite breakfast and lunch spot ☕️🥞🥑

Located on a corner in a small alley just off the beaten path lies this gem of a family owned restaurant. This is our first visit but surely not our last. We tried the braised pork cheeks and these were delicious. The owners are friendly and the prices are more than decent. Please try it

I gave this place a 5 because the owner couple are from Parma, Italy and they are giving great value and service to the international clientelle. No wonder they are popular. Thanks guys!

The waiter was kind and friendly. He served us a real Italian cappuccino which is a real gem in this area. The atmosphere was pretty quiet.
Sadly the kitchen was not open at that time. We surely will come back!

Youssef Yaacoub★★★★★
I stayed in Torrevieja for two months and this place was literally my favourite spot to go for breakfast. At some point, I was going there with my toddler every day!
I loved their avocado toast and nothing beats their French toast as well. The pulled pork brunch dish is delicious. Their batch coffee is perfect and the lady who makes it so friendly and so passionate for coffee.
What makes it all more worthwhile is the super friendly staff - I call out especially the amazing Marine, the owner.
Thank you so much for keeping your standards high. I will miss your place!

It's a great find in Torrevieja, the coffee is really good. The pastries here are nice, the almond croissant is amazing, you should try to catch it if you can, people tend to snatch it away really quickly. A perfect place to wait for your bus and have a cup of coffee, the bus-station is 5 minutes walk away.

We had a very good breakfast at Lolyta Food & Coffee in Torrevieja, a warm and inviting place that immediately feels friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is bright and pleasant, perfect for a relaxed start to the day. Service was kind and attentive, and our breakfast was fresh, tasty and nicely prepared. Overall, a lovely spot for a high-quality, relaxed morning meal.
Richard Caine★★★★★
A very pleasant atmosphere; the staff were very approachable and friendly. The coffee was delicious and the cake was amazing.
Jamie★★★★★
Read the reviews and responses of owner, find them odd but they also made me even more curious. Apart from seeing these good looking slices in front of the window.
Hopped over at about 19:30 and decided to speak English
Not very busy, was kindly greeted and helped instantly. Cake as good as it looks, coffee fine. Coffee con leche tastes the same everywhere for me.
Will revisit, cake is very good but id imagine its an easy 1000 kcal for those crazy chocolate cheesecake variations, so not a daily visit for me. :).
Alexander★☆☆☆☆
Very bad, I’m sad… Visit this place 2 times, and every time is bad quality and terrible service.
First time we ordered cheesecake, and they give 1/2 of piece, and on my question “What is is?”
They ask “Sorry, but its okay”
Today I was with wife, and I ordered Benedict brunch and this is how it look at near table, and what they give to us. Also with Benedict brunch must be orange fresh, but not for us…
Personal is disrespectful and rude. I’m disappointed.
Not recommend this place.
Yacine Ajrai★★★★☆
I visited this café on Sunday, August 3rd around 3 p.m. It’s one of my favorite spots in Torrevieja. I ordered a cappuccino, which was excellent, and a pistachio cheesecake with a brownie base. The cake was a little too sweet but still delicious. I also had a strawberry milkshake, which was unfortunately a bit bland due to the small amount of strawberries used.
One of the waiters, a man wearing glasses, was quite cold—he handed me my order without saying a word and didn’t respond when I said thank you, even though I was the only customer at the time. Thankfully, the young woman who took my payment was very kind and warm, which made up for it.
Despite that, I definitely recommend this café to anyone looking for great specialty coffees, delicious cakes, and refreshing frappuccinos. I’ll definitely return because I really like this place, and next time I’m looking forward to trying something new on the menu

Had a great lunch here: two large delicious freshly made sandwiches with a side order of chips. Good service, great Spanish food.
Evgeniya Gasselblat★☆☆☆☆
We have just visited this restaurant because it participates in “The croquet contest” in Torrevieja. There was a promo offer in the advertisement which included 2 croquets and a drink per person. There were 4 of us and we have subsequently ordered 4 portions. However the waiters served only 2 plates with 4 croquets and charged us as it were 4 portions, saying “one croquet is one portion”. Once again - 2 plates for 4 persons. Very unpleasant feeling left afterwards…

Excellent place, highly recommended! The alfajores are absolutely amazing, so authentic and full of flavour, they truly taste just like the ones you’d find in Argentina. You can really tell how much care and quality goes into everything. A lovely spot with delicious treats, and I’ll definitely be coming back again.
Matthew Pepper★★★★★
As a half-English, half-Swedish family, this has been our favourite café in Torrevieja. From our very first visit, the owners of Bendita Cafeteria made us feel genuinely welcome. They’ve happily spoken with us in English and Swedish, while also patiently allowing us to practise our terrible Spanish.
The coffee is always excellent, and the food is clearly made fresh on-site. The mandarin cake is quite simply the best I’ve ever tasted, and according to our children, the croissants are the best they’ve ever had too.
What really makes this place special is the atmosphere. The staff are warm, friendly, smiley, and funny, especially with the children. Good service is important, but so is feeling relaxed and having a laugh, and Bendita Cafeteria gets that balance perfectly.
It was also here that we tried our very first tostadas, and they were delicious. We love sitting outside in the shade by the plaza, watching the world go by with a coffee and something tasty to eat.
Bendita Cafeteria has become one of our favourite memories of Torrevieja, and we’ll be looking forward to returning the next time we’re in town. Highly recommended! ❤️☕🥐🍊

This is an excellent place for tourists and of course locals. Excellent friendly service, super coffee. Very clean place that is softly decorated. 9 tables unside with outdoor tables. They serve alcohol and beer. Main part of town. Bathrooms very clean. Pricing excellent. Trendy tea selection as seen in menu photo. Try Empanadas with meat, unique flavor! 5 star.

On my Monday walk, I walked to the town house.
Opposite the town hall, there are a row of terraces, and I crossed the street to Calle Bazan. Just a few seconds’ walk from the hustle and bustle, I came across this terrace. Suddenly, I found myself in an oasis of calm. I hadn’t been in the city centre for a while, and I can highly recommend this to everyone. My tostada was generously topped with Serrano ham and deliciously warm. The coffee was, in my opinion, of the highest quality.
The service, however, is always the deciding factor for me. And here it was spot on. Hats off to the staff member. Friendly and smiling, attentive, and my order was ready in no time. I can wholeheartedly recommend this establishment.
Have a sneak peek at the menu.
Stuart Davies★★★★★
What a fantastically refreshing find this place is amongst the chaos of Torrevieja bars and restaurants!
The staff are friendly and their food is all made fresh, even their breads and pastries.
They have a range of popular dishes from Bocadillos, Sandwiches, Pasta, Salads and a range of traditional Lithuanian dishes.
Oh and the place is spotlessly clean!
Elvisa Tretjakova★★★★★
Just had breakfast at Laba Diena bakery in Torrevieja. The toast and coffee were delicious! The place has a light, modern ambiance and a lovely selection of sweets. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!”
Olga Virkovska★★★★★
Superb location with a spacious seating area, indoors or outdoors. Comfortable seating with a road that's less bustling compared to others. Excellent coffee and an impressive selection of teas. A huge thanks for the Napoleon cake; in my opinion, it's fresh and tastier than those at Ina Expresso, Dolce Cafe, or Miss Caprice. Absolutely recommended.

Tips for Enjoying Cafes in Torrevieja
A little local knowledge goes a long way when exploring Torrevieja’s coffee culture. The pace of life here is relaxed, and understanding a few unwritten rules will help you blend in and get the most from each visit. These practical tips will save you money, improve your experience, and introduce you to flavors you might otherwise miss.
- Embrace the “café con leche” culture. While specialty drinks are popular, the classic Spanish coffee with equal parts espresso and hot milk remains the daily standard. Ask for it “en vaso” (in a glass) to drink it like a local.
- Time your visit strategically. Most cafes are busiest between 10:00 and 12:00. Arrive before 9:30 or after 13:30 for a quieter atmosphere and faster service, especially on weekends.
- Look for the “menú del día” breakfast combos. Many cafes offer a mid-morning deal that includes coffee, fresh orange juice, and toast with tomato or ham for a fixed price. It is often much better value than ordering items separately.
- Do not skip the house-made pastries. Torrevieja has a strong tradition of bakeries supplying cafes with fresh ensaimadas, palmeras, and tostadas. Ask what is baked in-house rather than choosing pre-packaged options.
- Carry some cash for smaller spots. While most cafes accept cards, a few traditional family-run places still prefer cash for small orders under five euros. Having a few coins ensures a smooth transaction.
- Try a “café bombón” or “leche merengada” coffee. For a uniquely Spanish treat, order a coffee layered with condensed milk or a summer iced coffee blended with cinnamon and lemon. These are local favorites you will not find on every tourist menu.
Torrevieja’s cafe scene continues to evolve, blending old-world Spanish charm with modern coffee trends. The best way to discover your personal favorite is to walk the streets, follow the aroma of fresh coffee, and let curiosity guide you. Each visit offers a chance to slow down and appreciate the simple pleasure of a well-made drink in good company.
Whether you are staying for a week or planning to live here long-term, these twelve cafes provide an excellent starting point. Keep this guide handy, share it with friends, and revisit it as new places open and old favorites refine their menus. The perfect cup in Torrevieja is never far away.
