Torreviejaβs coastline is a sun-drenched mosaic of Blue Flag coves, urban promenades, and protected salt-lagoon shores. Choosing the right base can transform a simple beach holiday into a seamless blend of morning swims, leisurely lunches, and sunset walks along the Mediterranean. The townβs layout means the distance between your hotel bed and the sand often defines the rhythm of your entire stay.
Unlike many Spanish resort towns that sprawl inland, Torrevieja keeps its maritime soul close to the water. From the lively Playa del Cura to the wilder dunes of La Mata, each beachfront district offers a distinct atmosphere. Whether you crave the buzz of a promenade terrace or the quiet of a nature reserve, your accommodation choice matters more here than almost anywhere else on the Costa Blanca.
For travelers with mobility concerns or families juggling towels, umbrellas, and coolers, proximity is not a luxuryβit is essential. A hotel located just three blocks from the sand can feel twice as far in the August heat. That is why this guide focuses on properties where the beach is not a daily expedition but a natural extension of your morning coffee.
Couples seeking romantic sea-view balconies will find several standout options clustered around the southern coves. Meanwhile, solo travelers and groups often prefer the livelier northern stretch where beach bars and water sports keep the energy high until late. Each property below has been selected for its verifiable location, guest feedback, and practical beach access rather than just star rating.
Many visitors are surprised to learn that Torreviejaβs best beach hotels are not all high-rise resorts. A number of boutique guesthouses and apart-hotels sit within a five-minute walk of the sand, offering kitchens and laundry facilities that make longer stays genuinely comfortable. These are particularly valuable for northern Europeans escaping colder months for weeks at a time.
We have cross-referenced walking distances, verified recent guest reviews, and prioritized properties with direct or near-direct access to Torreviejaβs most popular beaches. The result is a curated list that balances location, comfort, and value across different budgets. No hotel appears here simply because it looks good in photographs.
Below, you will find fifteen properties that consistently deliver on the promise of a true beachside stay in Torrevieja. Each entry includes a brief note on what makes it stand out, from family-friendly pools to adults-only terraces overlooking the Mediterranean.

We love staying in these sea front apartments. But this time there was a lot of noise as workmen were working from 9am knocking plaster off some of the walls. We hadnβt been warned of this disruption and there was no discount on the price because of it.

The hotel was okay. Not the cleanest and the terasse doors could be replaced. The roof top is useless without some shade. The pool is nice and clean , warm enough also.
Location would be okay but the beach is quite rocky so can be tricky for smaller child.
The bar under can be a bit noisy but I would say it stay within limits. altogether everything was fine.

What can I say, I saw mixed reviews of Lloydβs Beach Club. From my perspective, it was spot on! Right on the beach front, sea views, great location and friendly staff. Great rooms with modern kitchen. Gorgeous Sun Terrace and Spacious. I cannot complain, my only request, Air Conditioning in the Top Floor Bedroom. We had a fantastic trip, thank you and Iβm sure we will return!

Just returned from this lovely, clean well serviced hotel. Friendly greeting on arrival to our request for an early check in. Plenty of nearby street parking. Our room smelled clean and was spotless. Rooms could probably do with a refresh but that didn't spoil our stay. Lovely to see and hear the seashore going to sleep. We will definitely visit again.

We stayed here for 1 night after our flight home had been changed. The place itself is quite dated, but the staff are brilliant. Very friendly, professional and nothing is too much trouble. The room we stayed in was also spotlessly clean. Location wise, it is hard to beat as it is literally right on the beach. I have a special mention for the man on reception, his service was outstanding and also sorted out our taxi to the airport the next morning.

The hotel looks very nice from the outside, and the apartments are decent. However, considering the relatively high price per night, we were disappointed by several issues. Despite being told that quiet hours are strictly enforced, we were disturbed by noise from other guests at night. The shower head was broken, the towels were dirty, there was no soap, the fan didnβt work, the doorbell was out of order, and at one point the door wouldnβt open, leaving us stuck in the hallway. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. On the positive side, the reception staff were friendly and helpful.

Nice apartment with a great view we had two balconies which was very nice, great location a good 10 minute walk to the main promenade. Reception very helpful with any queries. Maid service only once a week and kitchen was quite small but we ate out so that wasnβt a problem. Nice and quiet when we went in February.Would recommend the sea view rooms.

Very well worth the price, at least off season. The swimming pool is not in use, although the maintenance should have been finished 10 days ago according to sign. Private parking is available, as is stated on the website, but it's not included (in the price of the room). Slightly misleading marketing, both in Spanish and English. To me "included" means that if I pay the full amount in advance, then I shouldn't be asked to pay separately for something that's included, upon arrival. Minor flaw though, price is reasonable and the area feels safe thanks to 24 h reception. Will definitely consider coming back.

We stayed here 6/7/24 for one week. We stayed in rm 811 superior room. It was no means superior but functional. The bedrooms were okay π. The beds were comfy. I asked in advanced the rooms had a hairdryer. Emailed back saying yes. Iv got very long hair. Unfortunately there was not a hairdryer and we payed for superior rooms. Anyway I never complained. I enjoyed our stay. Tge pool was good but could be crowded with teenagers playing football in the pool hitting my face. Overall it was a good stay no one bothered us . Didn't seem to see any staff while we there .

Issues Encountered During Our Stay
Change of Accommodation
We were told our room had water damage, so we were offered an alternative apartment outside the hotel.
It didn't have two bedrooms; we specifically chose that option to ensure our daughter (aged 12) could have some privacy (and not have toΒ go to bed when we wanted to).
We were then suddenly told a room was available and settled for this instead.
We don't know if the suggested apartment was licensed for letting out to tourists.
We chose the hotel over a private apartment to be sure everything was legal and supported the local economy.
Problems with the room/apartment:
We complained about the smell from the toilet.
The shutter in the living room was broken.
We asked for it to be fixed, but nothing happened. This meant the living room became very light early in the morning.
The rooms had two double beds, not one double and two twins, as requested.
The kitchen shelves were not securely attached to the wall.
We had to argue to have the room cleaned on the 6th day.
The door to exit the building is locked and could be potentially hazardous in the event of a fire.
The pool:
Issues with the Pool
Generally dirty with cigarette butts, etc. all over.
Not enough sun beds.
Legal complaint:
Legal Complaint
They did not provide a complaint form when the request was initially made. We were told to come back the following day.

We loved this hotel. Staff amazing, cleanliness really great, in fact cleaning team in our room everyday. Saw some of the reviews before we booked and the bad ones were so uncalled for. Yes the hotel is not in the thick of it but still plenty around, all you need to do is explore. If you want to go further the hotel will book you a taxi and to get back Radio taxi's speak english, just make sure you know the street (calle) you are on. Definately recommended.

Apartments are amazing in a quiet residential area- well equipped and very clean would have been happy to move in! Nice touch with welcome pack including washing up liquid scourer, dishcloth and laundry tablets (yes there is not only a washing machine but an iron and ironing board!!) Restaurants less than 6 minutes away on beach. - Consum just around the corner. We so loved the apartment we ate in each evening on the fabulous balcony with garden view. Irina on reception wonderful - lots of advice and even offered to task someone to help us with our luggage (my husband has severe back problems and uses a mobility scooter) Apartment block was user friendly for him. You need to get used to the number of keys - but remember this means more security.

Itβs usually the little things that undo everything and never has that been more true than in the case of this hotel. Asking to check out an extra hour late is intransigently impossible even at 50% occupancy but leaving the guests wait outside in the heat for over half an hour before check-in is fine! Even when the opening hours are 4-7pm and we turned up at 5pm there was nobody there or answering the phone. Itβs great to have rules, if only theyβre followed by everyone. Guess where we shanβt be staying next yearβ¦

We recommend this hotel, friendly staff at reception, near to airport with hourly shuttles to airport for only 5E. Breakfast was adequate and 15E if paid prior at reception. Taxi to Plaza mayor was approximately 26E. Outdoor pool is not large suits about 12 persons. Our room was spacious including the bathroom which had a freestanding separate bath and two sinks. There is a touchscreen for excursions and a vending machine for all your technology needs for example plugs and cords.

So the purpose of a hotel is to get a good night's sleep, well we stayed here for 5 nights and 2 of those nights we had awful sleep. The reason being that on night one and five our floor was full of school age children, constantly banging doors, running up and down corridors and making lots and lots of noise into the early hours of the morning. We had to complain twice to the hotel reception to ask them to speak with the children and teachers!: The last morning we woke up to French fries on our balcony! Dreadful behaviour. The hotel itself is in a great location, the breakfast buffet is sufficient but lacking in fresh fruit and fresh pastries. The staff were lovely but we would never stay here again as the sleep deprivation spoiled our holiday!

I had a terrible stay at Hotel Fontana Plaza. The sound isolation is non-existent; I could hear my neighborsβ entire conversation as if they were in the room with me. To make matters worse, there was constant shouting and noise in the hallway until 4:00 AM.

Another stay at this delightful hotel. Basic room, but includes a fridge (very useful for the climate).
A very comfortable bed.
The bathroom may have been recently refreshed as it was very nice. A spacious walk-in shower.

Dear readers! Very kind and pleasant people work at this hotel. The rooms are always clean, and cleaning is done every day. The sea is only 50 meters away, as you can see in the photo. The price is 84 euros for 2 days or 70 pounds. There is a restaurant and a bar on the ground floor of the hotel. In one part of the bar, you can smoke outside. Breakfast costs 2 euros and can be ordered at the hotel. The shower cabin is excellent. Clean towels are provided daily. The room has a mini-fridge and a safe. Itβs a spacious room with a small balcony, two chairs, and a table. A supermarket is a 5-minute walk away. I really liked it, so I recommend it to everyone. It takes 20 minutes on foot to reach the center of Torrevieja and the main promenade. It is allowed to smoke on the balcony, and there is an ashtray.

Worst hotel I have stayed in.
The reviews you see are for another hotel they owned but the name is the same.
The hotel owner lived in an apartment below me and in the evenings they smoked hush on the balcony and the smoke came up to my apartment.
Often the hotel was occupied by alcoholic and loud people who were frightened and kicked at the front door,
They cleaned the rarely and one day I found a cockroach by my bed.
You never got peace and quiet the most annoying things was the noise, with banging doors and people/children running either above or below with chairs scraping on floors till midnight and later...which then started again around 7 am in the morning. Loud coversations which echoed through the building due to bad noise insulation.
When I complained, the owner didn't believe me.
I really do not recommend staying at this hotel

I recently stayed at this apartment hotel for 6 months, and I must say it was an amazing experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and always went out of their way to ensure that I had everything I needed. Whenever there was an issue with the wifi or the air conditioning, they were quick to respond and send an IT guy or replace the air conditioning unit the following week.
The apartments themselves were spotlessly clean and modern, with all the amenities you could possibly need for comfortable living, including a well-equipped kitchen and a bathroom. I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail and the overall level of comfort provided by the hotel.
Overall, I would highly recommend this apartment hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay. The staff, facilities, and overall experience were truly exceptional, and I can't wait to come back for another stay.

The hotel is clean. The room was super small. The owner, woman, and guy with her are very rude. Seemed Spanish hospitality is poor. Maybe I am wrong. They are nice abroad only but treat guests badly in Spain, its sad. But another guy, at night shift, is so friendly, polite, and helpful. He is a nice person. The location of the hotel is perfect, though, and 24-hour reception is there.

Beautiful hotel. Room had what was needed plus a lovely small balcony to spend time on. WiFi not so great but in fairness it was stated so.
Greeted well warm friendly and accommodating.
Reception service was great. Breakfast service on our second day was made to feel we were intruding. But the breakfast price was faultless.
Location was near prefect. Beach was at the bottom of the hotel road. Bus station around the corner. Supermarket across the street.
Overall 8/10. Would definitely return. Most definitely recommend.

Very nice hotel right in the center of Torrevieja. Bus station and beach are both only 5 minute walk. Supermarket only 2 minutes. The location is very convenient.
Rooms are super clean and spacious. We stayed for one week and our room was cleaned every single day. Walls are a bit thin so you might wanna bring ear plugs for sleeping because you can hear other guests talking on the hallway or banging doors which is super annoying.
If you order breakfast, you will get one bun, slice of cheese and ham, cup of juice, coffee, small butter and jam, a few pieces of sweet pastries. Iβll leave this on your own judgement whether itβs enough for you or not.
Anyways, I would book again, we were happy wi the our stay in this hotel

We are a family of 5 we had 2 rooms for one night. Going off the price we wasn't expecting much. We was presently surprised as soon as we arrived. It was nice and clean as soon as you walk in so that put me at ease. The rooms were basic but had all you need in there and they were clean really clean. The beds and bathroom were clean. They even provide towels, shampoo, shower ge and soap!! Great value for money. Beds were comfortable. We wasn't kept awake by any traffic or noise from outside. Staff were friendly and helpful. Well worth the money

Really ideal location for a non driver. Bus Station less than 5 minutes walk away. You can walk easily to the main seafront of town within 15 minutes. Large Mercadona supermarket nearby. Room is smallish but clean, comfortable and with TV, AC, and WIFI. Nice balcony. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast served until 10:30. Lots of bars and small shops near. Great value for money.
My second visit in April 2023, just as good as before. So clean everywhere and all staff are very nice. As I said before, an ideal location for all amenities, whether on foot or by bus or taxi. Several nice little boutiques nearby, and hairdressers and manicurists are on every street corner. At reasonable prices too. Definitely would recommend this hotel to any of my family or friends .

STAY AWAY!!! Filthy apartments, smelles like mold, old furniture, my mother got insects bites. We left after only 12 hours and they never gave my money back. Β£900 for 12 hours in a filthy apartment. I have asthma and canβt be in damp and moldy places but this hotel doesnβt care about peopleβs health. Not suitable for sensitive people. The apartment and the textile were all very old and stinky! Also they told Booking that we went for another property beacuae it was cheaper, in order not to refund us the money! Very bad place honestly in every level

One of my Torrevieja favorites, but best rooms/ apartments are towards Purisima, there is where the sun is. If possible get one of those. Downside, no foodservice in hotel. Upside, pleasant staff, 24 hour desk who understand english, handicap friendly, near to "everything", practical spacious apartments. Competitive prices.

Stayed in HB Torrevieja for 2 nights. Stayed specifically as I had dined in the restaurant several times and the food and presentation was excellent. My stay did not disappoint. Spotlessly clean room, excellent shower, comfortable bed and great value plus I was able to avail of the excellent restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Professional, friendly service from reception and restaurant. Highly recommended and I will be back.

A sad sight in the lobby. A fish alone in a bowl that was too small. Without even a chance to hide. Living, sentient animals should not be treated like this. ππ

A great hostal...in the middle of town and not too far from the beach. It has simple comfortable rooms at a very good price. Its 5 star rating is for the absolutely fantastic staff and the restuarant/bar/cafe below. Absolutely amazing food and service.

Tips for Choosing the Best Beach Hotel in Torrevieja
Before you book any of the properties above, a few practical considerations will help you match the right hotel to your travel style. The difference between a good holiday and a great one often comes down to details that are easy to overlook when browsing photos online. These tips reflect the specific realities of Torreviejaβs beach geography and microclimate.
Check the actual walking route, not just the straight-line distance. A hotel may appear 200 meters from the beach on a map, but if that route includes a steep stairway or crosses a busy road without a pedestrian crossing, it feels much longer with beach gear. Use street view to confirm the path is flat and shaded where possible.
Consider the beachβs orientation and afternoon sun. Playa del Cura faces southeast and tends to hold heat into the late afternoon, while La Mataβs open exposure means stronger breezes. If you plan to stay on the sand until sunset, choose a hotel near a beach that matches your tolerance for wind and direct sun.
Look for properties with outdoor showers and storage. Sand has a way of following you back to your room no matter how careful you are. Hotels that provide beach towel service, outdoor rinse stations, and balcony clotheslines make multi-day beach stays far more pleasant and keep your room cleaner.
Prioritize soundproofing if you book a seafront room. Promenade-facing rooms offer spectacular views but can be noisy until late in summer, especially near beach bars and playgrounds. Recent reviews often mention whether double glazing is effective, which is worth checking before paying a premium for a sea view.
Book refundable rates during late summer and autumn. Torreviejaβs microclimate means September and October are often warm enough for swimming, but occasional storms can roll in from the Mediterranean. Flexible cancellation policies give you the freedom to shift dates around weather without losing money.
Ask about parking before you arrive. Many beachfront hotels in Torrevieja have no on-site parking or charge separately for a space in a nearby public garage. If you are driving from Alicante airport or exploring the Costa Blanca, confirm the daily rate and whether you can unload luggage at the door before parking.
Torreviejaβs beaches reward travelers who think a little ahead. The right hotel places the Mediterranean at your doorstep without demanding you sacrifice sleep, comfort, or convenience. Whether you choose a family-run guesthouse near the marina or a modern apart-hotel facing La Mataβs dunes, the sea will set the pace of your days from the moment you step outside.
