Alicante’s Mediterranean coastline is famous for its beaches and historic old town, but as the sun drops below the mountains, the city reveals an entirely different personality. The streets of El Barrio fill with the clinking of glasses, while the marina reflects the neon glow of late-night cocktail lounges. Whether you are looking for a quiet wine bar, a high-energy club, or a traditional tapas crawl, Alicante offers a nightlife scene that balances Spanish tradition with modern sophistication.
The local culture here starts late and finishes with the sunrise, making it essential to plan your evening strategically. Unlike other European destinations where the party is confined to one street, Alicante spreads its venues across distinct zones. From the narrow cobblestone alleys of the old quarter to the breezy promenades of the port, each area offers a different rhythm and crowd.
Visitors often make the mistake of arriving too early or staying in one place for too long. The true essence of Alicante after dark is found in the movement—the traditional Spanish ritual of bar hopping. You might begin with a vermouth at a century-old tavern, move to a modern gastrobar for dinner, and finish dancing under the stars at a beachfront chiringuito.
Understanding the geography of the city’s entertainment is key to having a safe and enjoyable night. The main hubs include the historic Casco Antiguo, the Explanada and port area, and the stretch of beach known as Playa de San Juan. Each location offers a distinct atmosphere, from bohemian and artsy to glamorous and exclusive.
The city is also incredibly walkable, which makes exploring these areas safe and convenient for tourists. Taxis and trams are readily available for the later hours, but the best experiences are often found simply by wandering through the illuminated plazas. The sound of live Spanish guitar often drifts from open doorways, inviting you to stop for a glass of local wine.
This guide is designed to help you navigate the best that Alicante has to offer after dark. We have curated a list of venues that consistently deliver excellent drinks, great music, and an authentic atmosphere. Whether you are a solo traveler, a couple on a romantic getaway, or a group of friends, there is a spot on this list that will fit your vibe perfectly.
Below, you will find the top fifteen nightlife spots that define Alicante’s vibrant evening scene.

Our favourite Bar in Spain. Nice music, great cocktails, great food and amazing service! We would always come back when we are in Alicante. Great view of the harbour. The place to be in Alicante

A wonderful place on the edge of the bay where you can enjoy a stunning view of the sunny sunset. Special thanks to Anastasia and Lyuda for their excellent service, and to the bartender Jorman for the outstanding cocktails. I’d like to emphasize that the quality of the cocktails far exceeds their price, especially considering the location of the venue!!
Anna Merk★★★★★
Amazing café with a cozy atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming, especially Polina and the service was fast. I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely come back. Highly recommended!

Its your friends from Holland. It was a very good experience here. We were there 2 times . There is a amazing view, the drinks taste amazimg and the presentation of the cocktails are a lot of fun. They took very good care of us and We even had a laugh together. Food was also good the cheese platter is very rich and not your usual spain cheese. They have a lot of options in cocktails. Im also someone who enjoys shisha they have that here too. With also a lot of flavors. We will be back later and

We visited this bar with a stunning view over the Port of Alicante, and the location alone makes it worth coming. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and the whole place has a very stylish, elegant vibe. It’s a great spot to relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and take in the view.
The cocktails were delicious. Perfect for a chilled evening by the water.
They also offer shisha, but to be honest, it wasn’t the highlight for me. It was okay, but not something I would order here again.
Overall, I’d definitely come back for the views and the drinks — it’s a lovely place to spend time in Alicante.

The club is unique, but they said the entrence fee contain one cocktail.
Its not true. You can choose only from beer, shot or wine. If you want a coctail you can buy half price. The entrence fee was 8€ on the page but it was 10€. They said that price was the online price. We did not feel the alchol in the mojito and they put sprite in it 😀 the music is good, they have 2 dancefloor. Interior is awsome.

I stopped by with a big group and the security guard changed the rules of entry. he was extremely rude and stated he didn't care that we were paying customers. We were a group of 16 people , sober and ready to spend and have a good time. I would highly recommend better training to door staff. They are, after all the first representation of the business.

So we arrived midweek and early, but it did begin to get a lot busier towards midnight onwards, from the entry to the different bars in one place, it was a great experience for €5 entry that included a shot once you got of the lift and a free beer! Bargin we thought! The drinks were fantastic and so creative, they had 6 special cocktails that came with a wacky holder that made it the part! Only €10 each!
Catarina Branco★☆☆☆☆
The worst bar I've ever been to. There were 13 of us girls, and I've never felt so unsafe. To begin with, they offered us 10 shots of alcoholic beverages, and when we asked for 3 more, we were met with rudeness, and we gave up on the other shots we were supposed to receive. Furthermore, I've never been to a bar where we were harassed so much. I felt really uncomfortable.
The decor is nice, but I don't think it was worth it.

Great club with a fun atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks. Communication could have been better for international visitors, but everything worked out in the end. The bartenders were friendly and provided great service, making it an enjoyable night overall. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a good night out in Alicante.
Svetla I.★★☆☆☆
We went to Marmarela on a Monday night, which is probably why we had such an unpleasant time. It felt like a frat party from the outside, while the inside area stood almost empty. We had purchased tickets beforehand, and we went to the bar to claim our free cocktails that came with the tickets. The cocktails weren't true cocktails, but a bit of alcohol of your choice poured into a plastic cup and a non-alcoholic beverage like a coke. We spent most of the night chatting outside, where there were no ashtrays despite the cigarette machine. It was clear that the place offered better entertainment during the day, since we were surrounded by fake grass and closed food facilities. Despite the highly praised closing time of 6 AM, security threatened to close the club if everyone remained outside, so we entered for a total of two songs, but the crowd was so dead and awkward that we left. It was likely our bad luck and poor choice of time to attend. The interior and views were still nice, but the club didn't live up to the expectations social media creates.
Lazar Jovanovic★☆☆☆☆
The only good things about this club are the lighting production and the sound system. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
The entrance fee at the door is €30, which creates very high expectations. I only found out after entering that many people had purchased somewhat cheaper tickets through Instagram promotions. As an international tourist who doesn’t speak Spanish, I had no way of knowing about these offers and ended up paying the full €30. It felt unfair that this information wasn’t made clear to everyone. That doesn’t feel transparent.
I gave this club two chances on two different nights and stayed until 4 AM both times, hoping the music would eventually improve. It never did.
For a club charging €30, I expected an unforgettable night. Instead, the DJ’s music selection was surprisingly weak and often completely killed the atmosphere. At around 2 AM, when the dance floor should have been at its peak, they were playing songs like “Ain’t Nobody Loves Me Better” and other tracks that completely drained the energy. I’ve had far better nights at clubs with free entry.
This city has better nightlife options. Unless you’re only interested in the lights and sound system, I honestly can’t recommend spending €30 here. It was one of the most disappointing club experiences I’ve ever had in my life.
Moniqa Kaur★★★★★
Went here during the day. It opens at 12pm. You pay a fee for which table you want to sit at. Front row is €100 then the rest is €50. All facing the pool and view. This credit gets put on to a card and you get to spend it on food and drinks. Its basically to reserve your table/sofa area. Good way for them to make money. Music plays through the speakers and then a Dj comes about 4pm, music gets a little louder and it gets a bit busier. The pool is nice and has a lovely view. Has a lovely look however very uncomfortable with the little pebbles. Staff were nice.

NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE!!!
On the night of 24th June, during Hogueras, I attempted to enter Marmarela after purchasing a ticket for €20.
At approximately 1:00 a.m., I was refused entry because security staff stated that I was wearing "chándal." I then left the venue, went home to change clothes, and returned to the port. When I came back, after waiting again for an hour, it was alreasy 3:00 am, I was refused entry a second time for the same reason.
At no point was I given a clear explanation of what clothing would be acceptable, it just says casual clothing and dress formally on the website. As a result, I spent time and money returning to change clothes, only to be denied entry again. I also found the attitude of the security staff to be totally rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. They will not reason with you in any kind and they will just kick you out.
PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!! There are so many better places you can visit in Alicante.

Quite a nice club, with 2 areas with different music to choose from. On Saturday night in June there were not that many people (whic is nice) and air con plenty powerful to dance in comfort. But doors to the toilets do not lock. (At least in one area) 🤦 They have a camera where you can take nice pictures!

Nice club with free entrance (at least this was in my case). The music was mainly local but it was fun to enjoy clubbing here. We paid a small fee for the wardrobe. Tequila was unknown to me, seems to be local tequila. It was not bad but not the best. Would appreciate if they would offer well-known brands of drinks

It seems all the people that are in here actually work here and the girl outside gives you some coupons to use for discounts but it’s a fraud in the end gets more expensive than without the coupons, avoid this place, also music is repetitive same beat all the time

We went here for a quick drink. There is no organisation, it is not clear if you need to queue at the kiosk or if it is table service. The service in general was slow and the waiter seemed to be desperate to leave the table midway through our order.
The beer was reasonably priced, but the cocktails were very expensive for the quality. We ordered an old fashioned and the cocktail they gave us was definite not an old fashioned.
Not a bad spot for a beer or coffee but would avoid it for anything else.

Nice and modern looking bar. The location is great - right on he marina, overlooking the boats and water. The prices are slightly on the high side, but still reasonable, especially considering the location. Service is good, even when busy. Overall a good bar, where you could easily spend an hour or so sipping a drink and soaking in the sun / view.

Good location, nice views of the boardwalk as well as the marina. Stopped in to enjoy a cigar and I’ll recommend what the waiter recommended to me. Sangria Blanco. Full of flavor and alcohol. Perfect pit stop during your day/night as well as a good place to meet up with people and catch up. 🥂

Also love this place as they are trying to keep food and drinks local. Cava Brut was very good and Turia beer they have is awesome. We had the meat board which was ok-ish, but I appreciate it was all local. Prices are more than reasonable considering the location.

Good Selection of cocktails, beautifuylly presented. Great view over the old fort and it's quiet a large floor area. Was busy and a bit cramped for space but staff were lovely. Patatas Bravas were crisps with sauce which was not what we expected. Different seating areas large good umbrellas to avoid the direct sun if wanted. would got again. 5 cocktails and 3 waters came in under 60 euros which was very good value.

Complete disappointment – Overpriced ice and clueless service**
I came here for a nice cocktail and a photo, but it completely ruined my evening. The drinks are a joke—basically "colored water" with 80% ice and absolutely no trace of alcohol.
I ordered a passion fruit cocktail and was served a confusing setup: a vermouth shot on the left, and a glass on the right with just one finger of cheap boxed syrup buried under a mountain of crushed ice (visible in my photo ). No instructions were given on how to drink it.
The service was entirely clueless. The waitress didn't know the menu and couldn't recommend a single photogenic drink. Furthermore, the QR menu looks terrible—blurry, colorless, and poorly formatted, like a cheap photocopy.
Paying €12 for a cup of ice with zero alcohol is an absolute rip-off. Even on a Sunday at 9 PM, the place was barely 15% full, and now I see why. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Lovely roof top bar, really stunning views of parts of Alicante. With a little pool great little sun trap would return again. Great place. Few picture of some of the views.

Racism is at its peak in this club,I can’t believe we bought the tickets and all, when we arrive, they didn’t let us in, said we are overage for clubbing , we are 24,25, and 27. There were lot of other white men entering without any problems, they probably would have around 40 year átleast.
So just spanish people are allowed actually better to say just white people are allowed.

Friendly bouncer who recommended us nice spots for the rest of our trip in Alicante. This place is for locals and for young people between 18 and 20 years old. You pay the entry 20euros with something to drink.

I had the most disappointing experience at this nightclub in Alicante. My friends and I had reserved a VIP table and paid online, looking forward to a night of fun and comfort. However, from the moment we arrived, it was evident that this was going to be a night we'd rather forget.
Firstly, despite the "VIP" tag, the reserved room had no air conditioning, leaving us feeling like we were sitting outside among regular ticket holders. We expressed our concerns to the staff and refused to touch the drinks they brought until the issue was resolved. The manager assured us that the air conditioning was turned on and that we just had to wait for the room to cool down. However, quite the opposite happened – the room kept getting hotter by the minute!
Moreover, the so-called "VIP" room was situated far away from the actual party, making us wonder why it was considered a VIP area at all. It felt like a misrepresentation of what we were promised.
When we raised our disappointment and questioned why they would take reservations for a room that was not ready for guests, the manager had no explanation and didn't even offer an apology. Instead, he admitted that the air conditioning was malfunctioning – a fact he should have informed us about before we arrived.
We requested to be moved to another VIP area with a functioning air conditioning system, but they refused our request outright. The manager showed a complete lack of understanding and empathy, leaving us feeling like our concerns were dismissed.
To top it off, when we expressed our desire to cancel the reservation and get a refund, the manager arrogantly refused! He left us stranded and upset, without any intention of addressing the situation properly.
I would strongly advise anyone considering a night out at this nightclub to think twice. They have no regard for customer comfort or satisfaction, and it seems they care more about making a quick buck than providing a pleasant experience. My friends and I left feeling disheartened and cheated out of what was meant to be a memorable night. Save yourself the trouble and find a better place to enjoy your evening in Alicante!
Amir A★☆☆☆☆
Horrible experience. Bought VIP and was not allowed to bring in my small bag where me and my friends had our keys, wallet, watches and so on.
I had to leave the bag with all of our important stuff at the entrance, with the staff, and their security was - just say your name when you want to pick it up. I said are you sure? You don’t have a ticket or something?
When i get back there to pick it up by departure, they gave my bag to someone else earlier.
I did not even get an excuse from the manager, or any compensation.
I would never put my foot at this place again. They do not care about you at all.

Decent gay bar in Alicante. Over the 5 days we visited it was a bit hit and miss. One of the bar staff (slightly older) was really nice and definitely cared about the place.

We have been coming here for over 10 years. Always such a friendly and nice place. Amazing drinks!

Not interested considering your bouncer made such a bad impression. Very unfriendly service.

TEATRE is my favourite place. I´m from Alicante, but at the moment I´m living in Sydney. When I go back home I always go there. Everybody stops once at night to meet friends or have a few drinks. The best time is Saturday afternoon, just after lunch, the atmosphere is crazy. Don´t miss this out!
If you are in Alicante, even just for a short visit, and you want to meet nice people, know the best local DJs and listen to good vibs, TEATRE is your place.
Enjoy the party my friends !!!

Lovely spot to sit and watch the world go by with a cold drink under the Ficus trees, we loved the Sangria Blanca, and alcohol free pina collada and daqcuiri. The vibe is very classy but relaxed

Special location with comfortable seats under beautiful trees. Friendly staff is attentive and fast. The cake is ok and the coffee average and still I can recommend sitting there for a relaxing break in the shade

We went here for a breakfast and later that day for a glass of wine. Very nice location in the center of Alicante. For the the pineapple juice one of us ordered we got a pineapple cake served instead which was actually GREAT. Let's assume the waitress got lost in translation... NO PROBLEM!

The sangria was genuinely delicious, but at around £12 per glass, I found it seriously overpriced. The beer prices were no better either—€4 for a small beer and €8 for a large one. What disappointed me the most was that when I asked for some extra ice, I was told I had to pay for it. At these prices, I would expect something as basic as extra ice to be included.
Unfortunately, the overall experience felt like the business is aimed at one-time tourists rather than returning customers. It gives the impression that they rely on the constant flow of visitors instead of building loyalty through good value and customer service. I won’t be coming back for the rest of my holiday.

Amazing fairy tale cafeteria hidden under the tall trees you feel like a small bird sipping ice coffee. The waiting girls had an unnecessary attitude at first, but then as i kept ordering something changed to better.

This rooftop bar and restaurant is an absolute gem! The views are simply incredible — a perfect panoramic look over the city skyline that makes for a breathtaking backdrop, especially at sunset. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets below.
Service was lovely — friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. The team really made us feel at home. It’s a central location, super easy to get to, yet it feels like a hidden oasis above it all.
Whether you’re looking to unwind with a drink, enjoy a great meal, or just soak in the views, this spot ticks all the boxes. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful spot overlooking the city of Alicante. There are comfortable chairs in the shade and sun both. The kitchen was not open when we were there on a Sunday afternoon, so I can't speak about the food. We ordered a pitcher of Tinto de Verano which was very good and had roughly 4-5 glassfuls in it. They also brought a little dish of nuts with the drinks. The sunset from up here is lovely.

Amazing staff, great cocktail - one of the best I've had in Alicante. Amazing rooftop!

We wanted to experience a RTB before we left Alicante so we did like most travellers do just google. This came up with good reviews and did not disappoint. If you go ask for a table facing the castle and in the late afternoon/evening it’s spectacular. Did not have food but cocktails are good price for the location. Both Isabelle and Mercedes looked after us well, we will return next time we visit Alicante.
Practical Tips for Enjoying Alicante’s Nightlife
To make the most of your evening, it helps to understand a few local customs and practical logistics. Spanish nightlife operates on a different clock than most of the world, and knowing how to pace yourself will drastically improve your experience. The following tips will help you blend in with the locals, stay safe, and discover the hidden gems that casual tourists often miss.
1. Eat Late and Pace Yourself
Spaniards typically eat dinner between 9:30 PM and 11:00 PM. Bars and clubs rarely get busy before midnight, and the peak hours are usually between 1:00 AM and 4:00 AM. Do not exhaust yourself by arriving at a club at 10:00 PM; instead, enjoy a long, leisurely dinner with wine, followed by a slow walk to your first venue.
2. Dress to Impress (But Stay Comfortable)
While Alicante is a beach city, the locals take pride in their appearance when going out. Most upscale cocktail bars and clubs enforce a smart-casual dress code. Men should avoid wearing flip-flops or sleeveless shirts at night, while women often opt for elegant but breathable attire, as the summer humidity can be intense.
3. Carry Cash and Your ID
While credit cards are widely accepted, many smaller tapas bars and traditional bodegas prefer cash for small transactions. Additionally, bouncers at popular clubs are strict about ID checks, regardless of your age. A photocopy of your passport or a driver’s license is usually sufficient, but ensure you have it on you.
4. Master the Art of the "Copa"
Skip the bottled beer and order a "copa" (a mixed drink or spirit served in a tall glass). Alicante is known for its generous pours and affordable local liquors. Try a local "Cantueso" or a classic "Agua de Valencia" for a regional twist. Ordering a drink at the bar rather than table service will also save you money.
5. Use Public Transport or Walk
The city center is largely pedestrianized, making walking the safest and most enjoyable option. If you are staying near Playa de San Juan or need to travel late, use the official taxi ranks or ride-sharing apps. Avoid driving at all costs, as parking is scarce and the police have a zero-tolerance policy for drinking and driving.
The beauty of Alicante’s nightlife lies in its variety and its authenticity. You can spend one night dancing under the stars at a beach club and the next sipping a quiet glass of red wine in a medieval square. The city welcomes everyone, from the curious traveler to the seasoned party-goer, with a warmth that is distinctly Spanish.
As the night winds down and the sky begins to lighten over the Mediterranean, you will find that the locals often gather for one last ritual: churros and hot chocolate at a street cafe. It is the perfect way to end an evening of exploration and a reminder that in Alicante, the night is not just about the party—it is about the connection to the people and the place.
