I’ve been coming to Hotel Dos Mares for more than 10 years, and every visit reminds me why I keep returning. This place is truly unique. Its incredible location, breathtaking views over the ocean, beautiful beaches, and peaceful surroundings make it the perfect place to completely disconnect from everyday life. The hotel has a wonderful design and atmosphere, but what makes it truly special is the friendly, caring staff. They always make you feel welcome and at home, turning every stay into a memorable experience. A special thank you goes to Toñi. I honestly don’t have enough words to describe what I feel after every massage with her. I often arrive carrying stress and anxiety, and I always leave feeling renewed, peaceful, and full of positive energy. Toñi’s hands don’t just relax the body—they touch the soul. Her kindness, warmth, and incredible talent make every treatment unforgettable. She has a truly special gift. For me, Hotel Dos Mares is much more than a hotel—it’s a place to recharge, reconnect with yourself, and enjoy one of the most beautiful settings imaginable. After more than a decade of visits, I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for tranquility, very friendly hospitality.

We only stayed 1 night in bungalow with sea view. We dropped by by accident and took a lunch and a job meeting. Great wifi and location is amazing. So we stayed the night. Breakfast was good and great allergy options. Beach is amazing. We will come back ❤️

Such a beautiful hotel with beachfront! Almost anywhere you go in the hotel is sure to have a view of the ocean. We went with our kids and the had so much fun! The bungalows are great! Cozy, clean, and cute! They have different activities you can choose from or you can just relax and enjoy the views.

My recent stay at Hotel DOS Mares was an absolute delight, and while the facilities are wonderful—clean, well-located, and comfortable—it was the incredible staff that truly made our vacation special. I feel compelled to single out one individual who embodies the hotel's spirit of hospitality: Miriam, who works in the restaurant. From the moment we walked in for our first breakfast, Miriam greeted us with the most genuine and warm smile. This wasn't a one-time occurrence; every single morning, her cheerful "Buenos días!" and radiant positivity were the perfect start to our day. She creates an atmosphere that feels both welcoming and personal. Her amicable nature goes far beyond a simple greeting. She is incredibly helpful and attentive, always ensuring we had everything we needed. Whether it was a question about the local area, a special request for our coffee, or just a friendly chat, Miriam handled it all with effortless grace and a constant smile. She has a remarkable talent for making guests feel valued and cared for, as if we were visiting the home of a dear friend. In the hospitality industry, it's the people who create lasting memories, and Miriam is a true asset to Hotel DOS Mares. Her dedication and friendly spirit elevated our entire experience. We are already looking forward to returning, and a large part of that is to enjoy the wonderful hospitality she provides. Thank you, Miriam, and thank you, Hotel DOS Mares, for employing such a fantastic person. Highly recommend. See you soon 🙏🏼

A wonderful stay at Hotel DOS Mares, made truly memorable by the staff. A special mention must go to Miriam in the restaurant. She consistently greets everyone with a beaming smile and is incredibly helpful and amicable. Her positive and caring attitude every morning set the perfect tone for our day. She is a true asset to the hotel and a big reason we would love to return.

Nice hotel directly on the beach, with good restaurant and surf center. The fish and meat are amazing in the restaurant. Breakfast have sweet and salted options (eggs and cold cuts), good for my diet. It would be great to have a little fridge in the room. Surf center has material for windsurf, wingfoil, kite-surf, surfing... but for Windsurf only beginners equipment (minimum 165 liters, and max 4,7 meters sail if i remember correctly) so after the first days, I went to the surf center 3 minutes away by foot. I tried learning wingfoil, the 2 instructors I met were very nice. The hotel has no gym but there is one 5 minutes away by car (El Patio) for 30€ per week. I stayed 2 weeks and I hope to come back. It's a small structure, maybe 10 rooms, so after some days they knew my habits. I don't agree with the bad reviews i read about the rooms and breakfast, It's just not a 5 star hotel, but for the price it is actually great quality and service. Sleeping next to the sea, opening your door you are already on the beach with a surf center. In the beginning I found the Breakfast time late (9 to 11) but if you come for wind related activities, you realise the wind start at 11-12, surf center opens at 11, so it all makes sense, and by the end of my stay I was fully adapted to this. I actually met a few persons that come to this hotel regularly for many years. I hope to do like them now. For days without wind, you have some nice walks to do and you can also rent mountain bikes in Tarifa Center. Thank you all for my great Holliday.

If you want to spend time on the beach front and have an amazing meal or just a coffee or even want to stay the night in an Ibiza atmosphere environment with great chill music ... don't look any further, this the place. The white sanded beaches to reach in a stone throw with the awesome Atlantic Ocean in front of you makes this place heaven. Haven't been here, ad or on your to do/wish list. You won't regret, believe me.

Waited more then one hour to eat at the Restaurant and when I complained to the waiter he tells me that the cook was very good but had a very bad temper. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Go figure this one out!!!.... I mean... how much lower can you get?....I used to eat at the restaurant regulary. I guess it was the last time. There is also something very strange going on with the coconut soup. Last year , sudently they started telling me that they no longer had it. It was on the menu but they still didn't had the oportunitiy to change the cardboard with the menu. Today they already had the newly printed cardboards and the coconut soup was still there and still not available....so either someone forget to exclude it from the new menu... or someone dosen't like making coconut soups....

Classy hippie place, delicious food, very friendly staff, great service, and do not forget to chill at their chiringito after lunch. HIGHLY RECOMMEND PLACE!!!

The room was just ok. The person at the reception was very helpful therefore 4 stars for his service. Being a vegetarian, there was a seafood smell at the entrance which I did not like at all. The breakfast had 3-4 options in total including breads. Do not expect a breakfast with many options.

I have nothing but good words to say about my stay at Hotel La Torre. From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming. The hotel had picturesque views of the mountain range and sea front. A relaxed vibe that makes us want to return without hesitate. I was recovering from ankle surgery. Four weeks post op. They made our time unforgettable with support and kindness. I barely thought about my broken ankle. For anyone thinking and visiting the hotel. It was well worth it. Food excellent. Staff brilliant. It really does feel like you are staying at a small family run business. Highly recommend and will be back very soon.

This is our second time we have stayed at La Torre and love it here. The location is spot on for the beach which is across the road and not far from Tarifa town. Rooms are large and clean and the pool area so relaxing with a small bar area. Staff are also super friendly and made check in easy. Will be back next year.

Pictures of the hotel looked better than in reality. The rooms were clean and had a countryside style. The staff didn’t speak English well, which may have made them seem less welcoming. Overall, the staff seemed a bit confused. We were tired after a long trip but still had to wait for check-in, even though no one else was there.
Helen★★☆☆☆
The hotel has a lot of potential because the facilities (the pool is lovely) are really good and the location is great. The restaurant is also very good, the food really stands out. But the organization is quite poor. Before arriving, regarding our booking, we kept getting different answers depending on who replied, which caused a lot of confusion and lack of clarity. There also seems to be a shortage of staff, which affects the overall service. We also found it quite concerning and unprofessional that, due to an issue with the card, my husband was asked via WhatsApp for the full bank card number. That’s not a safe or appropriate way to handle sensitive data. Overall, the place has great potential, but they really need to improve organization, team coordination, and customer management.

The stay was amazing, hotel is so cute, food is spectacular and the staff could not do enough for you. I swill definitely be going back. It was so relaxing and so clean honestly I cannot say enough good things about it.

Fantastic hotel in quiet area. Comfortable apartments , nice and clean pool, great breakfast. There is a super helpful staff and always very friendly. We will come back there for sure!

Good price but the receptionist is extremely rude. We didn’t want to believe some of the earlier negative reviews since the place looks decent. We asked to pay for breakfast separately on the next day depending of departure time and were offered the option at a higher price than simply included in the room price. Also asked for a tour of the room and the receptionist showed us a 3d rendering. First time in my travels this happened. Funny man 😂

We had an incredible stay at Hotel Dulce Nombre in Tarifa. From the moment we arrived, the staff (in particular Christina) made us feel completely at home — warm, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. Their genuine hospitality really stood out. For kitesurfers, the location is absolutely ideal — just minutes from the best beaches and launch spots. There’s even secure storage for gear and plenty of space to dry equipment. After a day on the water, it was great to come back to such a peaceful, laid-back setting with beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere. Genuinely confused as to how this hotel only has 3 stars. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a kitesurf-friendly hotel with outstanding service. We’ll definitely be back!

We have been many times to tarifa and was first time in a hotel. We were very happy with our stay. The hotel is super well located if you kitesurf and staff was very kind. The food at their restaurant was surprisingly good. Especially their mojito who were the best we had during our stay. Definitely highly recommend, we found it much nicer than staying in the city.

A great experience once again at Hotel Dulce Nombre. The staff are so pleasant and engaging,  the hotel rooms are spotlessly clean.  You can see the hotel is well-maintained, freshly painted, plants looked after and that pool - it truly is gorgeous. There was a problem with the hot water and the staff quickly arranged for us to be moved to another apartment.  Problems do sometimes happen, but it's how you deal with it that counts and in this case the staff were responsive and extremely helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Despicable. I cannot recommend this hotel at all. The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, and well located. The restaurant staff were also genuinely kind and professional throughout my stay. Unfortunately, that is where the positive experience ends. This hotel presents itself as dog-friendly, yet traveling with my dog seemed to trigger nothing but condescension from the 2 male receptionists. Almost every interaction at front desk with them was unpleasant. I was repeatedly spoken to in a rude, dismissive, and aggressive manner while simply asking normal questions. There was no greeting, no courtesy, no professionalism, just pointing fingers, raising voices, and being told they “didn’t have time because they were dealing with customers.” The irony is that I was a customer too, paying for a private suite costing around 400 euros per night, dog service included + extras such as the restaurant, a total amounting to ~2.300 euros for 5 nights. Speaking of restaurant, their service at the Chiringuito is also pissy since the waitress also screened me and ignored my information request to not have a black human being sitting in their premisses. The Property manager excused her discriminatory behavior by pretending I allegedly asked her for a hamburger in lieu of their opening hours and menu with a view to order tapas there. Worst behavior and customer service ever. They perfectly know what they’re doing. As a paying guest, I expect to be treated with the same basic respect as everyone else. Instead, I consistently felt that I was treated differently from other guests while I was always the one being polite and introducing myself to fix any issue regarding my stay in this hotel. I left with the genuine feeling that I had received discriminatory treatment as a black woman in spaces where my presence felt uncomfortable to both the clients and the front office staff. Whether intentional or not, that is how the experience felt, and it was deeply upsetting. No matter how attractive the facilities are, hospitality is ultimately about how people are treated. A beautiful hotel cannot compensate for a front desk that makes guests feel unwelcomed, disrespected, and humiliated. When I pointed this poor behavior to the staff members, the Assistant Manager/receptionist threatened to call the police to throw me out and left me to handle my luggage solo under the sun. Is this top tier/luxury treatment? I really don’t think so. Hence, I checked out early because I refused to spend another night in an environment where I no longer felt respected. Btw the police never came, they just thought a black individual would fear such threats despite the fact that (i) I’m a sworn lawyer and (ii) I know my rights as a documented European citizen. In my opinion, the level of customer service falls far short of what should be expected from a hotel of this category. Based on my experience, it certainly does not reflect the standards one would expect from a property aspiring to earn a fourth star. Terrible experience.

Fantastic hotel that I would recommend to anyone! I was lucky enough to have my wedding at Hotel Punta Sur and from the staff to the wildlife everything was incredible! Thank you so much for making our stay so special and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Best place to stay in Tarifa. The overall atmosphere is a bit classy but still relaxed. This because of the amazing garden restaurant behind the reception building. All staff is very friendly and helpful 10/10. The food is delicious at the restaurant. Breakfast can be improved, some minor things would help: coffee, tea machine - now you que at the bar, pretty annoying when you sleepy crave your coffee. Also the eggs you order at bar. The food variety could be improved as well. Compared to the restaurant, the breakfast seems to be managed separately. The pool is amazing, really quiet (if no kids:) great place to read and chill. They have some peacocks and a small river. We had a family suite with 2 rooms. The AC is pretty old and did not work properly.

Went to Tarifa and did not like the AirBnb we already paid. Preferred to skip it and stay in a quieter/safer place. This hotel was heaven! Friendly service, great room surrounded with nature. Food in restaurant (and in the included breakfast) was great. Absolutely recommended!
Zack Kent★★★★★
What a cool property with a pura vida vibe! It's not fancy, The rooms are simple but spacious. ACs take a while to cool the place down. The pool is simple. But the vibe and property are beautiful. Like a little private oasis. Service is top-notch. The garden dinner sitting is superb. Can't wait to visit again. Thank you, staff, for a great stay.

Beautiful and clean hotel. The staff were all amazing, very friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious. The pool area is really lovely. Only 20 minutes walk into the old town. The views from the rooftop pool and bar are incredible. Only area for improvement is we waited 30 minutes for a drink at the rooftop bar. The bar tender was amazing, just needed more staff there. It's an amazing hotel and we will definitely be staying again.

We spent 4 days in this nice hotel. The location is good for going to the beach, doing some shopping, walking into the old town and also for events. We had in this and the Q Event neighbor hotel a company camp. My first room was not okay. The climate unit did not work and so in the room it was humid 26 degrees celsius. The room itself was okay, but not nice. Luckily, after trying with the service staff repeatedly to get the ac unit running, without result, the very helpful and clientfriendly lady at the front desk offered to change rooms. The new room then was perfect. AC unit working, way brighter than the one before, more modern even. Then it became a nice stay. The three stars represent the mix result of the two rooms I had. Overall the staff was friendly and helpful. They speak good english and german as well. I enjoyed in the end staying in this hotel and would partially recommend staying there. Your results may very, as we were there with a company, but I think she would gave tried to help anyhow. I wanted to give regards to her here, but as she was not there on departure day, I could not ask for her name.

Our stay at Hotel Tarifa Lances was fantastic in every way. The hotel is beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and in a perfect location just a short walk from the beach and the town. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always happy to help and making us feel at home throughout our stay. The rooms were comfortable, modern, and immaculately maintained, and the breakfast offered a great selection of fresh, delicious food. The facilities were excellent, and the whole hotel had a relaxed, luxurious atmosphere that made it easy to unwind. We honestly couldn’t fault a thing and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tarifa. We can’t to come back!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Tarifa Lances. Great location, grocery store across the street, great view of the ocean, lots of great restaurants close by. A short walk along the ocean to the busy downtown areas. We enjoyed the pool both days we were there and the attendant brought us towels as soon as we walked through the gate. The front desk staff spoke very good english and were very friendly every time we walked by (fresh apples at the desk too). We wanted a second cup of coffee in our room and the cleaning staff was happy to provide 2 more coffee pods. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the room had everything we needed. Had a drink at the roof top pool bar in the evening and enjoyed the spectacular view. Would definitely stay here again
Jessica Peixinho★★☆☆☆
Stayed here for 4 days. The rooms were a decent size and clean but the decor consisted of random twigs and trees? The fruit and cava on arrival was a welcome treat. The breakfast had a somewhat reasonable selection ranging from cereal, to different types of breads and pastries, cold meats and cheeses, fruit, an omelette station, and the usual beans, eggs, potatoes etc. The hot food was lukewarm at best. The hotel consists of 3 pools- one on the ground floor, one rooftop pool and one indoor. The ground floor and rooftop pools were absolutely freezing to the point that they were unusable. I have used cold pools in hotels before but this was beyond what I was able to endure, and by the looks of it others too as the pools were deserted for the majority of our stay. Additionally, the pools are super shallow- and this is coming from someone short! The indoor pool had a fee of €5pp which is silly and we didn’t want to waste money on it. There was no AC for the duration of our stay and when we enquired we were told that the AC is turned on in May. When we asked about fans we were told there weren’t any and we had to sleep with our balcony door open every night. The main positive of the area was the Mercadona directly across the road. Apart from that, the area was fairly empty/quiet with not much else around. The beach was attractive but mainly used for flying kites and kitesurfing. The reception team were welcoming and the cleanliness of our room was maintained daily by the cleaning team.

Think this is my 4th return to The Wildhouse and every time it gets better & better. The team led by ViVi & Anna made for a superb stay. The customer service is welcoming and of a high standard. Very low key hostel and a bit far from the city (7km), so difficult without a car. The accommondation does not look like in the pictures as it is much more run down and plenty of stuff lying around (a bit messy). Dorm rooms have no proper place to put your clothes. No boxes, no luggage storage, so everything is lying around the rooms. The atmosphere is great though, so If you like hippie style low key vibes - this might be your place.

I don’t want to leave this place! I highly recommend you stay here. The decor, the service, the location… you can feel the thoughtfulness behind every detail. Rooms have a good size and distribution. What you see on the website is exactly what you get. The moroccan inspired theme makes you forget you are in Spain and immediately transports you to an authentic Riad in Marrakech, it goes perfectly with the mediterranean Tarifa vibe. There is a terrace where breakfast is served and also a common living room on the first floor. Location could not be better, steps away from the main restaurants and cafes, but on a quiet secondary street. I would definitely book this place again, it was an absolute pleasure.

Our first time in Tarifa and this lovely hotel. It has an atmosphere of calm and even though we were in the junior suite right next to the stairs and main reception, we hardly heard any noise. I wanted to give this review a score of 4.75, but I can't. And the only reason I didn't give it 5 is because our suite, which had 2 windows opening onto the internal atrium/public seating areas, meant we couldn't really get much daylight or fresh air into our room, for fear of other guests or staff walking past our windows. It was a little disappointing, but as we only stayed 1 night, it didn't really affect our enjoyment of staying in such a beautifully decorated hotel, with very welcoming and accommodating staff. The free minibar and continental breakfast came as a wonderful but complete surprise to us! It was not mentioned when we made the reservation with booking.com. We would stay here again if we return to Tarifa in future. Please consider my true score of 4.75, when deciding whether or not to stay here. It's a great place in a great location

We had lunch on their terrace. While the view was very nice my garlic shrimp looked like they were cleaned with a lawnmower. Taste was also off. Staff was nice but not very organized. All in all 5/5 view with 0/5 food.

good: clean. Good position, acceptable price. The young guy at the reception was friendly, spoke good English and was the only instance where the staff seemed to care about us. Looks like he's the only addition to the facility since when they threw out the fax machine. bad: rooms: noisy, people screaming, walls are paper thin, some guy pulled up to the internal parking and left his engine running for half an hour (10:30 in the morning, made sure we were awake). Furniture is old and kitchy, lighting is criminal, looks like a surgery room. Please google color temperature or go to media markt and ask the guy there. The remote for the AC unit is bolted to the wall 1.5m up in a metal cage. Was that a punishment? Did he try to escape or mutiny? I am afraid to find out. Service: we asked if they have vegan options. Looking at their menu, they could have thrown together a side of vegetables and some rice, or at least given us the good old salad + fries, which would have been fine for us. Tostada con tomate, maybe? Instead, the guy at the bar proudly told us thst they only serve meat and fish, like that was a political statement or something. Was he offended by vegans or ignorant about their own menu? Either way, if burger king manages and you don't, you probably messed up big time. breakfast: 6 euros gives you coffee (2 euros if you order it by itself), and access to the buffet. Buffet contains a communal bowl of bread, a communal bread knife, a toaster that's probably seen both world wars, an assortment of sweet and savory single use pre package spreads, queso, jamon and york. I've been to nastier and cheaper places than this, they never had the nerve to charge for the "whatever, figure out yourself" breakfast
Seimen Burum★★★★☆
Stayed one night in winter on my way through which was ok. There is a row of bungalows at the back of a main building of which the restaurant was closed The room was comfortable with a good working ac heater. Internet was poor and failed from time to time. Moreover I got a warning that the router software was outdated and not safe to use. There was no breakfast buffet but I could makevmy own warm sandwich with good ham and cheese
Ben Sleeman★★★★★
Everything was exactly as sold and the big tick was the air conditioning working regardless of the time of day or temperature. 4 and 5 star hotels that I have stayed in on this trip don't advertise the AC isn't available all the time. It's only when you arrive you find this out. La Codorniz AC just worked and kept the room pleasant. Big big tick. Room was clean, comfortable and everything about our stay matched or went above our expectations. Parking was free Regret not using the pool but we were only there for one night.
Roberta Nouboué★★★☆☆
We spent 3 nights there with my family. The room are really small but neat. It's a well maintained hotel but clearly not a 3 star. The breakfast wasn't good at all and I find way too expensive for what it was. The food at the restaurant was really expensive for what it was especially if you compare it to other very nice options in Tarifa and surrounding. That being said the young man at the reception in the afternoon is very nice and professional.

Room was fine small but the bathroom is a good size. Everything about our stay was great until our last day when we went to check out, there was a woman working the reservation desk who we asked if we could use the towels for the beach, she said of course and honestly seemed confused that we asked first. When we came back to return them she practically wouldn't take them back and said that those towels weren't for the beach. She checked us out, so knows what room we had and therefore only towels available. If that were the end of it fine, but instead she complained loudly to the other workers at the hotel restaurant ins Spanish (assuming we didn't understand but my husband speaks Spanish) that we took the towels to the beach, and also complianed about us using the complimentary drink voucher. Why say yes to using the towels or provide a voucher if you would then treat hotel guests in such an incredibly rude way? It was a terrible end to our stay.

very nice hotel, all new inside. Had a lovely room with a rooftop terrace. Check-in was a Little complicated, as the reception is in another hotel around the corner, but staff was super friendly and helpful, so all good! Had a great stay!

Located in the old town, lots of resturants around this place. Super super nice and very helpful staff, clean and tidy bathroom and beds. We stayed 4 night was pretty cool! They have contacts for windsurfing or kite surfing if you need. Only one thing my girlfriend was complaining we had 2 small mattress instead of one double bed. Highly recommended if you need a quite calm place for your vacation 🙂

This is a fabulous boutique hotel in a central location.we had the two very well equipped rooftop rooms, with a terrace overlooking the old walled town. The hotels best asset is manager/ receptionist Vicky who is so helpful, full of local information ,and advice on tariffa and surrounds.

Stayed for seven nights here in May and just loved it. Staff are very kind, the gardens are beautiful, lush and peaceful, birds singing, lots of areas to sit outside, various patios and secluded corners of the garden and a lovely pool. Garden rooms are really great with a beautiful view of all the greenery and exotic trees. Just down the road you have some great beach bars for food and drink, and Tarifa town is a short drive away. You do need your own transport to get the most out of staying here. The only down point was a problem with drain smell in the room the first night, but the staff quickly moved me to another room. Honestly, for the price, this place is exceptional value and a perfect base to explore the area. Highly recommended. I will definitely return.

One of the best hotels I've stayed in tarifa, fantastic location, beautiful gardens and swimming pool area 👌 a short distance from the beach ⛱️ the rooms are spacious and same with the bathroom. Good air conditioning for keeping the room cool lovely seating area outside the room. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly boiled eggs 🥚 where delicious 😋 highly recommended 👌

So, we booked this place at the very last minute looking for a cheap place to crash, and were very pleased with the value for the money. The room was comfortable and the grounds were beautiful. It's a ways outside of the town so it's peaceful and quiet. Walls are a bit thin, so you hear the neighbors, and the plumbing is typical of this region in that yiu need to leave windows open for gases to escape.

La Peña is a very decent hotel, amids the greens and silence with a very coasy atmosphere. Rooms are small but clean and tidy, the beds are very comfortable and the AC works perfectly. The main kite beach is just a three minute drive away. I skipped breakfast as for me, it wasn’t worth €8. Would totally recommend La Peña when visiting Tarifa.

Hotel La Pena is a tropical paradise located just a 5-minute walk from the ocean outside of Tarifa. You are completely surrounded by lush and beautiful gardens. They offer an amazing breakfast buffet, and you feel like you are eating in paradise. Highly recommend.

Great place! If I ever return to Tarifa I will book this again.

I gave it one star because it won't let me post without it, but it doesn't deserve even one. The rooms are garages with no windows facing the street. The "reception" area, if you can call it that, has a sort of sofa where I recommend not sitting or leaving anything on it. The photos are nothing like reality. We couldn't cancel the reservation, but we didn't sleep there. I don't recommend it; I'd rather lose my money. 165 euros per night is not worth the price.

We were very pleased with our stay over the weekend. The room had everything we could ask for and was very clean and new. Also the beach is right around the corner and was pretty empty, comparing to the Tarifa beach. Checking in and out was also very easy. Thank you for this great experience!

Stayed here for a few nights in mid June. An affordable, well situated between Kite surfing spots and town. Everything was clean and tidy. Quiet location, can't really hear the passing traffic. Would recommend to anyone for a future stay. Would benefit from having a car though - it is a bit far to walk to town if you are on foot.

I had a great stay at Hostel Levante in Tarifa. The location is perfect: it’s situated between the main beach of Los Lances and the city center, making it really convenient to move around, whether for enjoying the beach or going out in the evening. The structure is beautiful and unique, designed in a horseshoe shape with a well-maintained garden in the middle. A big plus for kitesurfers: there’s plenty of space to lay out kites and wash equipment, which is super convenient. The staff is friendly and helpful, always ready to assist and make guests feel at home. The rooms are another highlight—comfortable, well-equipped, and surprisingly quiet, perfect for resting after a day of sports or exploration. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing, welcoming, and strategically located stay in Tarifa.

The bed was a bit too overused since it got a big dip in the middle which made it a bit uncomfortable. Checking in and out of the Hostal has been very fast thanks to automated systems and safe boxes for keys. Cleaning service was respectful of my goods and cleaned everything pretty well.
V Dro★★★★☆
The room had a decent size with a very comfortable bed. Overall the the room was simple and clean. The hostel had plenty of free parking spaces and a little cafeteria. Service was very nice and there was daily cleaning. The hostel is located a bit outside the city center at a busy street which does cause a bit of noise and makes it impossible to walk to the city by foot. But you have a great view at the ocean and the beautiful beach. Also, there were roosters nearby during our stay which started crowing at like 5 am. So you should consider bringing ear plugs. But overall we had a good stay.

Great stay at Aristoy. We arrived with no booking. Loris at reception showed us an available room. It was clean and modern. He made booking easy; giving us a custom code to access building and room. Overall I would definitely stay again. Location is central. Reception has a riad vibe with open top and tree in the middle.

We arrived on Saturday about 1 pm. Tried to drop our bags off but there wasn't anyone on reception (and no response to my WhatsApp or Booking.com message the day before our arrival re bag drop), so we went to lunch with our bags. We tried to get into our room about 2.30pm but the key code didn't work. We called the number provided by the hotel who called the cleaner of the hotel who let us into the room. Later, when we went to go out for the evening, we checked the key code, but again it didn't work. Another phone call and we were given another key code. Please be aware that there is a restaurant in the small plaza which is on the ground floor adjacent to the hotel. They are open into the small hours and generates a lot of noise. The room was clean and comfortable but there is a very bright green emergency light above the door which lit up the room at night. I suggest you bring an eye mask and ear plugs.

The location id great in the center of the old town close to restaurants and bars. The rooms are small yet clean and comfy. To my taste the veds were a little small... Staff is friendly yet as many other hotels in Tarifa they are only present during the day. No breakfast offered, but you get coffee and tea complimentary in the room. Good value for money.

Has the potential to be a really nice hotel, but needs to nail the basics first. Good: 1. 10/10 for location, couldn’t be anymore in the heart of Tarifa! 2. Hotel is nicely decorated, very modern and a room had a great balcony. 3. Cleaner was very friendly and helped with dropping bags off. Bad: 1. Disappointing for the pool to not be open. It should be made public when in the year it’s either open or closed as it was one of the reasons I picked this hotel. 2. There isn’t technically a full-time reception. There was a man (who was very friendly) present for about 2 hours near the entrance to the hotel. Made checking-in, dropping bags off and asking for towels a little more difficult. 3. Wi-Fi is extremely slow 4. I did see some ants in the room (and glasses). I may return in the summer, but would like to see the above be improved.

The Aristoy was tastefully converted into a contemporary small boutique hotel. The location was great...right in the main area but a drop off the road, so it was quiet. Bed comfy, shower strong, coffee pot in room. Staff was lovely.

Clean, elegant, spacious and well designed rooms. Felt more like home than hotel. You can feel that this place is being well kept with additional small details that make it very cozy. Staff is amazing. Simona is a rock star! Everyone here goes extra mile to make you feel welcome.

we are very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. we were looking for something in the center. the hotel has a very atmospheric decor and a pleasant aura. the hotel has one star but the owner took care of every detail to make the stay more pleasant. large rooms, large bathroom, fragrant towels and good coffee. I do not often see this even in 4-star hotels in Europe. We recommend it to those looking for quality rest

We stayed in the loft suite which was very spacious! The place has a luxurious feeling to it while still being at an affordable price point. The loft has its own exit onto a fantastic and huge rooftop terrace with views over the old town and across to Morocco. Despite being inside the city walls (which can get lively at night) the suites are located in a quiet part of town which we very much appreciated. Simone at the front desk is very hospitable and friendly! All in all despite not having a full service like an hotel (like parking or breakfast) we wouldn’t hesitate to book Silos 19 again for our next stay!

Fabulous place from the lobby until you reach you’re room! Spacious, comfortable and at a great location. Beautiful terrace with Morrocos views. Worth visiting. Thanks so much for everything you did for us specially as we were celebrating our engagement. We will def come back

Not a bad little hotel, they have five rooms and each one is different. The staff is friendly and helpful, we stayed in the loft which is big but has no actual clear window. All the windows are frosted glass and the outside balcony is a bamboo encased 2 meter space.

Tips for Choosing the Perfect Hotel Near Tarifa Beach

Selecting the right base in Tarifa requires a bit more thought than in other Spanish coastal towns. Because the geography is so diverse, the "best" hotel depends heavily on what you plan to do during your stay. Here are some key considerations to help you make an informed decision.

Consider the Wind Factor
Tarifa is famous for its strong Levante and Poniente winds. While this is great for water sports, it can make a beachfront terrace uncomfortable on certain days. If you are not visiting for windsurfing, look for hotels with sheltered courtyards, sturdy windbreaks, or locations slightly inland within the Old Town.

Determine Your Beach Preference
Not all Tarifa beaches are the same. Playa de los Lances is long and wide, perfect for walks and kitesurfing, while Playa Chica is smaller and more protected, ideal for swimming. Decide if you want to step directly onto a windy surf spot or prefer a short walk to a calmer cove before booking your hotel.

Parking is a Luxury
The narrow, cobbled streets of Tarifa’s historic center are notoriously difficult to navigate by car. If you are driving, prioritize hotels that offer private parking or valet services. Saving yourself the stress of circling for a public spot during peak season is worth the potential extra cost.

Check for Gear Storage
If you are traveling with surfboards, kites, or bikes, not every boutique hotel will be able to accommodate you. Look for properties that advertise secure storage rooms or washing stations for equipment. This detail separates true surf-friendly lodgings from standard tourist hotels.

Book Ahead for High Season
Tarifa operates on a different calendar than many European hotspots. July and August are busy, but the wind seasons (spring and autumn) also draw massive crowds of athletes. To secure the best rooms with sea views, you should book several months in advance, especially for weekend stays.

As the sun dips below the horizon and the wind settles for the evening, Tarifa transforms into a place of quiet magic. The scent of grilled fish drifts from the old town, and the distant lights of Morocco shimmer across the Strait of Gibraltar. Choosing the right hotel allows you to absorb this atmosphere without logistical stress.

Whether you end up in a minimalist surf lodge or a historic converted townhouse, the key is to match your lodging to your travel rhythm. With the right base, your trip to Tarifa will be defined not just by the wind and waves, but by the comfort and warmth of your temporary home by the sea.
