12 Best Restaurants Near Mestalla Stadium

Whether you are a die-hard Valencia CF supporter or a football tourist making the pilgrimage to one of Spain’s most historic grounds, the area surrounding Mestalla Stadium offers a culinary scene as passionate as the football itself. Unlike modern stadiums built on the outskirts of the city, Mestalla sits woven into the fabric of the Eixample neighborhood, meaning authentic local life is just steps from the turnstiles. This proximity provides a rare opportunity to ditch the generic stadium hot dogs and dive into a world of Valencian rice dishes, fresh seafood, and bustling tapas bars.

The culinary landscape around the stadium is defined by a mix of old-school institutions that have fed generations of fans and modern eateries catering to the contemporary palate. Finding the perfect pre-match meal or post-game celebration spot requires knowing where the locals go, especially when the streets flood with thousands of black and white scarves on matchday. From quick bites to sit-down feasts, the neighborhood surrounding Avenida de Aragón and Calle de Sueca is a gastronomic goldmine waiting to be explored.

Because the stadium is located in a residential district rather than a tourist trap, the quality of the food remains remarkably high and the prices remain fair. You will find a distinct lack of "menu turistico" traps here; instead, you will be rubbing shoulders with third-generation Valencians who take their food very seriously. The atmosphere shifts dramatically on match days, with the aroma of grilled meat and simmering broths mixing with the chants echoing from the nearby bars.

One of the greatest joys of eating near Mestalla is experiencing the local rhythm. Lunch is a sacred, leisurely affair starting around 2:00 PM, while dinner rarely kicks off before 9:00 PM. If you are attending an evening fixture, you have the perfect window to enjoy an early tapas crawl before heading to the gates, or you can wait for the final whistle and join the locals for a late-night "esmorzaret" or celebratory dinner.

Navigating the side streets around the stadium reveals hidden gems that do not rely on flashy signage or online hype. These are establishments built on consistency, where the waiters know the regulars by name and the kitchens churn out time-honored recipes daily. Whether you are looking for a heavy sandwich to soak up the pre-match beers or a delicate plate of freshly caught seafood, the area has you covered.

To help you make the most of your visit, we have curated a list of the absolute best dining options within walking distance of the stadium. This guide prioritizes flavor, authenticity, and proximity, ensuring you spend less time walking and more time savoring the unique culinary culture of Valencia.

Here are the best restaurants near Mestalla Stadium that you should not miss.

Looked forward to visiting Living after the reviews on the creative and interesting take on dishes. Food:1-The food all around was very bland. We asked for veggie options as our group was eating veggie only. I guess that must have really taken the food options on a real poor journey. They served us pork with our dish and forgot to add salmon on the dish that came with salmon after we told them seafood was okay. Service:1-poor, not interested and dismissive. When we mentioned the mistakes they dismissed it and said we shouldn’t have moved it off the rest of the dish. As we didn’t eat meat, we didn’t want the pork touching the rest of the dish. When the bill came they still charged us for both dishes and dismissed the whole incident. Atmosphere:4-The best part of the experience. Really open concept with a real cool vibe.

Maybe our expectations were too high? We were really looking forward to this meal and wanted to have a fantastic experience. The atmosphere and decor was fantastic, cool and relaxed. The service was fantastic until we were told that we had 10 mins left on the table (even though we arrived 30 mins early) . The food was decidedly average. Flamed salad was a bit soggy - the texture of the aubergine was watery. The fried chicken bao was more of a fried chicken bread roll instead of bao. The pork main was flavourless and the entrecote was just OK and really needed a sauce or jus. The cheesecake was white chocolate on the menu but we were surprised when it was actually pistachio. Bill came to over 150 eur for two with drinks and dessert. Better options in that price point exist.

Fun food, tasty, good value, very very grumpy Waitress who did not want to be there !

Very cosy and romantic restaurant in desert ambiance. The service is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our time very much. The atmosphere is warm and surprisingly chilling and not as loud as most restaurants are in the neighborhood. Delicious ingredients and food options on the menu. Try the tempura as a starter, it's delicious with the house salsa.

Lovely venue and restaurant. But food a little over rated. Ribs had to be sent back as cold chips. Really a poor dish for the money. Wine was brilliant and Poke bowl was amazing and fresh.

Great, great experience at Mala Hierba. We went in a bit randomly with a friend and it was such a nice discovery even for him (local to Valencia) We ordered 4 starters/tapas to share (Russian salad, tomato with tuna, Artichoke and Gambas). They were all very good but I was really impressed by the artichoke (which I didn’t want to order to start with…) The texture (crunchy bits with a soft core), the different sauce and condiments around… So good … Staff were also very nice and welcoming. Added the place to my favs and will recommend it to anyone visiting Valencia.

We had no reservation on a Friday evening but the staff were able to give us a table and were very good throughout the evening. The food was very delicious. Prawn in garlic. Special bravas potato, grilled salmon and almond tartlet for dessert. All recommended.

Very Good meal in a relaxing atmosphere, after a busy day very much needed.

As you can see, you pay 12,90 € for just two little anchovies. And there was nothing special about it. The taste wasn't extraordinary, it simply was okay. The potata bravas for 11,90 € were superb.

We had a great meal! Our food was delicious and the service was welcoming. They also accommodated our party of eight with graciousness. I would return if we were staying longer!

Oh where should I start? The food is Amazing!!! I haven’t had such a delicious meal for a looong time! We had solyanka ( mmm, to die for) and eggplant for starters and goulash and dranniki for the main entree along with the bottle of Saperavi. The service? Ohhhh, the best I’ve seen in Valencia ( and I’m not kidding), starting from the call to make reservation Danil made the experience so pleasant and all his suggestions were great choices that we enjoyed. Totally suggested! Hands down the best place so far

Amazing, had a creative twist on the classic Valencian mid-morning esmorzaret. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Food was superb, my sandwich, the peanut & pickles whilst waiting - all part of the experience, and to finish with a traditional Cremaet (signature drink made with strong espresso layered over sweet rum flambéed with lemon rind and cinnamon) was just fantastic. Headed back that evening for tapas with the family and again throughly enjoyed the whole experience - food, drink and service 😋 Booked for the evening but walk in during day for esmorzaret, around 11:00

We had an early reservation, and Maicol made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived with his warm and friendly service. The pork belly was exceptional—perfectly crispy skin with tender, juicy meat. The aged beef paella was absolutely delicious, packed with flavour and finished with a fantastic socarrat. A few bites were slightly salty due to the finishing salt flakes, but it was still an outstanding dish overall. We ended the meal on the perfect note with the chocolate cake, which Maicol recommended—and we’re so glad he did. It was absolutely incredible, rich, indulgent, and easily one of the best chocolate desserts we’ve ever had. I’ll be dreaming about that chocolate cake for years to come!
Catherine Holland★★★★☆
We went here after a recommendation from our hotel and it was okay. Firstly, we wanted a paella as we could see it on the menu. To be told that rice is only allowed in AM. Since looking we can see that this is the traditional Spanish way to not have paella in the evening but it would have been good if the menu had stated this or there was a separate AM / PM menu. Instead we got tapas dishes to share and they were okay, not the best food or value we had during our trip. The terrace is nice to dine in and felt full of locals enjoying a pre-dinner drink. However, the location is out the way unless you are staying nearby.
Remus Muresan★★★★☆
I visited Bar Cremaet for a beer and some tapas and had a pleasant experience overall. The place is very nice, clean, and feels quite new, which adds to the comfort of the visit. The service was good and fast, so we didn’t have to wait long for our order. The tapas were tasty, though I found the prices a bit high compared to the portion sizes. Still, it’s a great spot if you’re looking for a modern and well-kept bar with efficient service in Valencia.
Two Foodies Travel Adventures★★☆☆☆
The pork belly saved the experience. We walked 40 minutes to get to Bar Cremaet - it’s a Monday evening 19:50 pm and on arrival there were 6 tables occupied outside and 4 tables inside and one couple sitting at the bar. This is a large restaurant with lots of tables inside in two floors and at least 6 spaces at the bar. It’s end of March, still a bit too cold to eat outside. Because we did not have a reservation we couldn’t sit inside - the waitress blankly refused. Take it or leave it. We walked far and came on recommendation for the pork belly so I agreed to stay - shivering outside. When I went to bathroom the place upstairs and downstairs were empty. I thought the service was mean. The pork belly was super delicious - crispy crackling and the brined meat had a great flavour and was succulent. Even enjoyed the artichokes wrapped in ham. The poor mean service made us eat the two plates, each have a drink and left. It’s a shame.

Please do Not est the hamburguer menú! Worst menú ever eaten ! Worst hamburguer , too noisy, the waiters do the best effort to attend but food not recommended ! The fries too oily , the meat had such bad quality! If you want a better Burger you better go home !

Really local and authentic southern spain bar and restaurant. 11 euros for a full menu during lunch is a steal and everything was delicios. The portion sizes were big too.
The Travelling Camera★★★☆☆
I arrived around 1pm. It was really quiet: I went to sit at a table in part of the restaurant but I was directed to another area yet others sat in that area not long after. There was no menu provided but I saw others with different meals and then with menus. The waitress didn’t have any English but tried hard to help which was really good - both of us trying to use Google Translate. In the end I asked for a Coke Zero, agua and a jamon y queso sandwich which looked like it came out of my sandwich maker at home. It cost €6 in total. I’d have spent more as I really wanted something half decent at lunch had I got a menu. The waitress was lovely though but I would never go back there.

An outstanding experience at Bar Mestalla! The food was delicious and fresh, and the atmosphere was authentic and welcoming — but what impressed us the most was the service. The waiter was extremely friendly, professional, and attentive — a true example of great hospitality. We felt welcome from the very first moment. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a real local experience with excellent service!

Dinner, a Show, and… a “Good Boyfriend” 🍷 I picked Zazu for my birthday because of the live performance show, and honestly — no regrets there. The show was amazing. It’s not just dinner, it’s an experience, and it felt totally different from a “normal” night out in Valencia. Definitely worth going for the entertainment alone. 🍽️ The food? • I ordered the grilled salmon with a curry-style sauce. It looked nice, but the flavor just wasn’t there — like something was missing. Not terrible, just… flat. • We also had a steak, which was fine — good flavor, nothing groundbreaking. • The real winner? The wine. I tried one called Good Boyfriend (yes, that’s the name 😅). Sweet, smooth, and honestly my favorite part of the dinner besides the show. 🙃 The service? Here’s where it got a bit messy. The staff were friendly but slow — food came out late, and yet we were told we only had one hour to sit at our table. So basically: hurry up and eat… but also wait forever for your food. Not the best combo. ✨ The vibe? Very cool lounge atmosphere, stylish design, and the show itself makes it special. For a birthday or celebration, it feels unique and fun. Final thoughts: ✔️ The show: 10/10, highly recommend ✔️ The wine: 9/10 (get Good Boyfriend, you won’t regret it) ✔️ The food: 6/10 — not bad, but not the highlight ✔️ The service: 5/10 — slow and rushed at the same time Overall, I’d still come back — but for the show and the wine, not really the salmon.

Our Youngest son recommended this restaurant after reading the reviews on internet. And we weren’t disappointed. Very friendly personnel. We had sushi, salmon salad, duck tacos and blue fin tuna tartare for starters; Tuna Loin, free range chicken and the vegetarian burger. All was served very quickly and everything was very delicious. We really enjoyed all of our meals. On top of the good food we also enjoyed some live music and dance. A very nice dinner experience. Kudos to Alejandro who served us.

Had an amazing almuerzo here. I had the combo with sandwich, drink and coffee was 9 eur. Definitely worth it. The only thing that I would improve is the coffee. I always drink espresso and I don't know which brand of coffee they use but it's definitely not to my taste. Still, the food and the service was so good that I still have it 5 stars.

This is a good restaurant, trendy athmosphere great food. It felt like all freshly made and there is a wide variability of choice. (Lots of people around us had burgers but they looked less tasty then we had) we had beef and spareribs, both very good also the sangria and crazy nachos are recommended. Great place

We were served by Raúl. He was a great server! The food was delicious and I would definitely recommend the carbonara! If we return to Valencia we will go here again! A tip from us: we would like some music playing in the background, but that’s all I can think of!

I came here with 3 friends guided by the good reviews. A few dishes were good. The papada de bellota we were served was so tough it was basically inedible. When I pointed it out and asked the owner to try it himself, he reacted defensively and became confrontational instead of resolving the issue. He said the papada should be chewy. False. We were still charged for the dish, which is unacceptable given the quality. Service was also lacking — empty plates left on the table and an overall dismissive attitude. Would not return. also beers are served in half empty glasses

This place was fairly small so we felt crowded. It was loud and you had to speak over other people. The staff was insufficient, they had a bar tender, a waiter and one cook, so service was slow. The food lacked presentation, in fact it didn’t appear to be appetizing, but it was actually pretty good. Overall it was an okay place to eat.

We had a company dinner. The service, specially during pre drinks was a bit slow and at one point a little, not rude but unfriendly. However after a while it started to become smooth and normal. I think maybe just a little stress as it seemed fully booked. During dinner service was ok. Food arrived good and always together. Food itself was fantastic and I couldn't find any flaw. Tasty well seasoned and warm. The presentation was good as well. Overall a good experience and recommended I will definitely be back.

The food is nice and the service as well. However, not my type of restaurant. There is no specific cuisine and prices are high for what they offer. The majority of the dishes are Korean and I think you can eat better and cheaper at a Korean. The cocktail was great.

Enjoyed dinner at Éter very much. The flowered artichoke was very good but the standout was the Bibimbaq, served in a hot stone bowl. It was the best I’ve had outside Japan/Korea. I also enjoyed the excellent spicy Mango Mary.

This is the best burger places in Valencia that I've been to! Great food, great service, and amazing atmosphere for the whole family!

I had lunch here on a Saturday and found the restaurant a bit impersonal. You have to order via a QR code at the table and then wait for an email to go pick up your food. I ordered the burger of the month which was supposed to be a special with foie sauce. Sadly there was no taste of foie at all and it only tasted like mushrooms. The burger itself was just “mèh”. It was not that tasty but not bad either. The loaded fries were also a problem because they were ice cold. They must have been leftovers from a previous order. When I returned them to get fresh ones the new portion was served almost without any toppings. Overall it was a big disappointment and I will not go there again.

Ordered a muy hecha (well done) burger through UberEats. This is what arrived. That's not al punto, or even poca hecha, in the center, that's actually raw and freezing cold! Contacted support, and they said: "Hi Ross. We’ve verified this situation carefully and, even though we are unable to issue an adjustment this time, we appreciate you letting us know because your feedback helps us improving the overall experience. We also encourage you to rate the restaurant in your app so they can be aware of this situation and improve your experience with us going forward. Thanks for your understanding." Really, really awful!

As a family of six, we spent an hour rushing around Valencia, trying five different pubs and restaurants showing the Champions League Final, looking for seats for all of us — only to be turned away everywhere. At Casa Mundo Gastrosport, the incredibly friendly staff went above and beyond: despite every table being reserved, they found a way to fit us in and saved our evening. When it started to drizzle, they brought out a large umbrella so we could stay dry. Wonderful people. Thank you so much! P.S. The tiramisu and cheesecake were absolutely delicious.

Espectacular bocadillos and one of the best ensaladilla rusas I ever tried. The waiters were nice too. We tried the meatballs sandwich (Amadeo carboni) and the pulled pork one. Both were really yummy. The atmosphere is also really nice, I can only imagine wheaten there is any football match. Prices are higher than average which is the only downside, but overall I can recommend this place for some tapas and bocadillos if you are are puns the city center.
Andrew Cherney★★★★☆
Fun little spot off a side alley in the heart of the old town. Narrow and dark but bustling inside, with a few tables outside on the alley. Modern-ish decor with a sports theme and soccer matches on a big TV, so it was a perfect place to duck in for a quick beer and better-than-average pollo croquetas while watching a game. The menus offers a nice variety of tapas and bocadillos and sandwiches as well as larger entrees, at prices that are a bit higher than you'd find in other parts of town, probably due to location. Service was decent, considering how packed the place was; you're in the heart of downtown Valencia, so expect a lot of crowds and tourists in the surrounding area.
Fakı AKIN★☆☆☆☆
We sat outside and waited for 10 minutes, but no one even brought us menus, let alone took our order. There is a serious lack of service here. We ended up just getting up and leaving because the customer service was virtually non-existent.

After a long walk through Turia Park, we were looking for a nice place to have dinner and luckily came across this beautiful restaurant inside a lovely hotel. The setting is absolutely charming — a peaceful courtyard surrounded by greenery, with live music in the background. A talented singer was performing during our dinner, creating a very special atmosphere. We ordered an appetizer, main courses, dessert, and tea, and everything was excellent. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavor. You can really feel the attention to detail in every dish. What impressed us the most was the service. The staff was incredibly attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. A wonderful place for a relaxed dinner in Valencia. Great food, beautiful surroundings, live music, and outstanding service. Highly recommended!

We went for dinner on the terrace on Sunday. We didn’t have a booking but were greeted and given options of seating. The wine selection is good and very reasonable. We ordered a couple of dishes. The highlight was the pianist on the terrace who also sung. The terrace is a delight with beautiful olive trees and planting. Service started off on point but slowed down later and we had to chase for our drinks. Overall a wonderful evening. The Westin looks fabulous.

This bar has exceptional food and service, especially if you’re in the mood for something satisfying. You can customize a lot, or choose from the preselected dishes. The portions are generous and well filled, especially considering the price. The customization options also give you plenty of variety. Service was quick and personal, and even though the staff didn’t speak English, ordering at the counter was very easy and everyone was friendly. The food arrived quickly and was, once again, very generously served. The atmosphere is fine. There was no music when we visited, but the kitchen is located in the dining area, so if you like watching your food being prepared, you can see all the action. All in all, a very good Mexican grill with lots of options and very delicious food.

Our first time here and the impression was very good. Pictures food are very accurate to the final dish. Staff was very friendly and professional, she explained us how to order despite the steps to order were on the poster. We were impressed with the quality food (considering our last Mexican dinner was at "Taco Bell")... Overall very nice place to eat. Highly recommended.

What a special Mexican food restaurant in Valencia. Excellent quality foid and service. Loved my burrito. A must eat experience as is good fresh quality and good pricing for large shareable foods.

The BEST burrito bowl that I’ve ever had from a fast food outlet. Epic portion, great pieces of chicken with no nasty pieces and fast. I added the guacamole for an extra price to the chicken burrito bowl. I think it was €11 in total. This was often better than sandwiches and pizzas from cafes. It was perfect for us as we are not accustomed to the Spanish lunch and dinner schedule meaning we were hungry at 6pm for dinner when restaurants were often closed. If only this franchise was throughout Spain. Could really have used down in Granada.

Experienced with Glovo: very good food and very fast delivery, the only issue that I had was in the package, the cold beer was touching the hot burrito so a part of it became cold

Tips for Dining Near Mestalla Stadium

Eating near a major football stadium can be chaotic if you are not prepared, but a little local knowledge goes a long way. The key is to adapt to the Spanish dining schedule and understand the flow of the neighborhood. Here are some essential tips to ensure you get a table and enjoy the best possible experience during your visit to the area.

Book Ahead on Matchdays.
If Valencia CF is playing at home, the restaurants closest to the stadium fill up incredibly fast, often two to three hours before kickoff. Do not rely on walking in if you want a sit-down meal; call ahead or book online to secure a table.

Embrace the "Almuerzo" Culture.
If you are attending a midday or early afternoon game, skip breakfast and wait for the Valencian "almuerzo." This hearty mid-morning meal, typically served between 10:30 AM and 12:00 PM, consists of massive sandwiches, olives, and beer, providing the perfect fuel for a match.

Mind the Kitchen Hours.
Spanish kitchens close between lunch and dinner service, usually from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. If you are looking for a full meal right after a 5:00 PM game, you may struggle. Opt for bars serving tapas or "bocadillos" (sandwiches) during this gap instead.

Look for the Menu del Día.
For the best value, seek out restaurants offering a "Menú del Día" during lunch hours. This fixed-price menu typically includes a starter, main course, dessert, and a drink, offering an authentic and affordable way to sample local cuisine before the evening match.

Try the Local Rice.
You are in Valencia, the home of paella. While many tourist spots serve frozen or pre-made versions, the restaurants around Mestalla take pride in their rice dishes. Look for "arroz meloso" or "arroz al horno" on the menu for a truly authentic local flavor that goes beyond the typical seafood paella.

Be Patient with Service.
The atmosphere on matchday is electric but busy. Service in Spain is generally more relaxed than in other parts of the world; waiters will not rush you with the bill. Sit back, enjoy the atmosphere, and use the time to soak in the pre-match buzz.

The area surrounding Mestalla is a vibrant microcosm of Valencian culture, where the love for football is rivaled only by the love for good food. Taking the time to explore the side streets and dine where the locals eat will elevate your matchday experience from a simple sporting event to a full cultural immersion. Whether you are toasting a victory or drowning your sorrows after a defeat, the restaurants here provide the perfect backdrop.

Ultimately, the best way to experience Mestalla is with a full stomach and a cold drink in hand, surrounded by the noise of passionate fans. Use this guide to navigate the culinary landscape, and you will discover that the food is just as memorable as the football.
