12 Pharmacies in Valladolid City Centre

Finding a reliable pharmacy in the heart of Valladolid is often a top priority, whether you are a resident managing a chronic condition or a visitor caught off guard by a sudden headache. The city centre, with its dense network of historic streets and bustling plazas, is well-served by numerous farmacias ready to assist. Navigating these options, however, requires knowing where to look and what services are available beyond simply dispensing medication.

The Spanish pharmacy system is highly regulated and offers a level of professional care that many international visitors find reassuring. Pharmacists in Spain are trained to provide clinical advice for minor ailments, often saving you a trip to the doctor for common issues like colds, allergies, or digestive discomfort. They can also guide you on the proper use of medications and potential interactions, ensuring your safety while you are away from your regular healthcare provider.

When you are in the centre of Valladolid, convenience is key, but so is finding a pharmacy that stocks what you need. While most carry the essentials, some specialize in areas like dermocosmetics, orthopedics, or natural remedies. Understanding the layout of the city centre—from the Plaza Mayor to the area around the Cathedral—can help you quickly locate a pharmacy that is open and accessible on foot.

Language can sometimes be a barrier, but many pharmacists in central Valladolid speak at least basic English, especially those accustomed to serving tourists and international students. It is always helpful to bring a written note of the medication you need or a photo of the packaging. This ensures you receive the correct product, as brand names can differ significantly between countries even when the active ingredient is the same.

Beyond selling products, these establishments serve as community health hubs. They often provide services like blood pressure monitoring, weight checks, and advice on smoking cessation or travel health. This proactive approach to healthcare makes them an invaluable resource for anyone living in or exploring the historic core of Valladolid.

To help you find the right support quickly, we have compiled a list of reputable pharmacies located in and around the city centre. Each one is positioned to serve the local community and visitors with professionalism and care.

The shopping experience was fantastic. The order arrived incredibly fast—I think within 24 hours. The packaging was beautifully done, with a little thank-you note, and also full of helpful quotes that pointed to areas for improvement. I will definitely order again! Thank you so much!

Not open at 1am. They have dispenser open with a button to call for someone, pressed it twice and no one came. Owner says it is false, but my headache at 1am yesterday says different.

It's 1 a.m., and I just went to get an inhaler because I had an asthma attack, as you could tell from how hard it was to breathe while I was trying to talk to the person in charge. My medication needs to be reactivated periodically; otherwise, I have to pay for it and then get reimbursed. In this situation, the person in charge coldly told me, "Call your doctor and have them reactivate your medication." At 1 a.m., in the middle of an asthma attack! With such cold treatment, you could install vending machines or robots; the service would be the same. A little more empathy and a genuine desire to help would be appreciated!

The shipping was super fast; I received it at home in less than 48 hours. The packaging was beautifully done. It smells amazing as soon as I open the box! They also sent me a bunch of samples and a free gift. This is the second time I've bought from this pharmacy, and I'll happily continue to do so. Needless to say, I recommend it 100%. Thank you!

I'm very happy with the service I've received from Carmen. For over a year now, she's been advising me on a completely personalized skincare routine, and her recommendations are always spot on. She's a true professional, friendly, and attentive. I always leave feeling delighted. Thank you so much! 😊

Ordering online from this pharmacy was a great decision. The shipping was incredibly fast, everything was beautifully packaged, the scent when I opened the box was wonderful, and they even included a lollipop and 12 samples! Paying attention to these details isn't something everyone does, and I'm quite used to ordering online from various pharmacies. Highly recommended! 🙂

I've been buying from this online pharmacy for almost two years now, and I couldn't be happier. They always meet delivery deadlines, orders arrive perfectly, and the service is top-notch. It's clear they take their work seriously and care about doing things right. It's very reassuring to buy from a site where you know everything will go as planned. I'll continue buying from them and I recommend them without hesitation.
Tammara Muñoz★☆☆☆☆
I went to buy a specific shampoo for my mother because of an online offer, reduced from €32.78 to €23.34. I live in Santovenia. When I went to pay, to my surprise, the price was €33.90. I mentioned this to the sales assistant, and she told me that the prices on the website were different. I was speechless. It would have been cheaper to order it online and have it delivered, including shipping. I needed the product urgently, but I felt the way they handled things wasn't right. I won't be back.
Sandra Bac★★★★★
I placed an order for the first time and made a mistake with the payment. I called and they sorted it out right away. The order arrived very quickly and even included a handwritten message and a little gift! From now on, this will be my go-to place. There are few places that treat you so well and have such thoughtful touches. Thank you so much 😊

"UPDATE 1/19: After publishing this review and presenting irrefutable evidence, the pharmacy issued a full refund. It's incomprehensible that they maintain their public response claiming the batch wasn't theirs when the refund proves otherwise. If it truly wasn't their product, they wouldn't have refunded the money. I'm still waiting for a retraction for questioning my integrity." One star just to give it something; my first and last purchase. I placed an order for several products worth €75. When I received it, I noticed that one cream, although not expired, was very close to it. I wrote to them to see if it could be exchanged so I could keep it in my medicine cabinet without worrying about it expiring. I sent them photos, and to my surprise, they told me the cream wasn't theirs. I called them, and the rude woman who answered, besides reiterating that I would have it at home and that I was making it up, refused—unbelievable!!! I told her that this was how they lost a customer and that I would leave a review about the poor quality and lack of guarantee. She replied that she knew I would act this way—unbelievable, as if she knew me from somewhere! What terrible management of their system! They sell products about to expire and then wash their hands of it, saying that the product wasn't registered in their system. And how did it even end up in my order? On top of that, the email says they don't sell products with an expiration date of less than three months, yet the cream only had one month left! In short, I don't recommend them because you might receive an expired product or one close to its expiration date, and they wash their hands of it. She was incredibly rude and disrespectful when she suggested I had exchanged it for another one at home. Does she seriously think I'm going to get upset about a cream when there are more expensive products in the order unless it's for some unfair reason? This is the first time in many years of online shopping that something like this has happened to me. But it's clear I won't be trusting you again. UPDATE: After my formal complaint, the pharmacy has issued a refund (which confirms the error was theirs). However, I'm still waiting for an apology for falsely accusing me of trying to exchange the product. I find it deplorable that they prefer to refund the money rather than acknowledge their disrespect towards a customer. I will not remove this review until there is a public retraction of their accusations. My honesty isn't worth the price of a tube of ointment.
Ana Camacho★★★★★
Amazing service! It's my first time ordering and they actually delivered on time, as stated on their website. I'll definitely order again. They even sent me a little tote bag and a small gift with a lollipop and some candy. I ordered milk for my baby (photos attached), and they had fantastic deals.

I've changed my mind after going there numerous times. They ALWAYS give you the most expensive option by default, much more than other identical or better options from other brands. It's happened to me several times and I'm quite fed up. They never offer you alternatives or ask you what you're looking for; it's pretty sad.
SEC MAN★☆☆☆☆
If you want appalling and awful treatment, you can go to that pharmacy. That is, if they're open Monday through Sunday. I understand why they treat you this way, because all the employees seem burned out. With so many people behind the counter, the difference in their approaches is enormous, a lack of professionalism and up-to-date knowledge in even the most basic things they should know makes it very difficult to continue using their services. You can be a regular customer for five years and they can treat you like they don't know you, and that's how it will continue because, obviously, I won't be going back.
Diego m g★☆☆☆☆
Doesn't anyone tell the saleswoman in the blue jacket who's smoking all day in the back of the pharmacy that smoking so much is very bad for her?
Judith Perez Curiel★☆☆☆☆
I just called and I didn't like the girl who answered at all. I was asking for a cream for stretch marks and she didn't recommend any. I asked her the price and she said, "We don't give prices over the phone." I said thank you and she said, "Nothing, goodbye," and hung up.
Mario Esteban★☆☆☆☆
It's hard to find worse or more unpleasant service. I don't know if they're trying to show off their knowledge or if they're simply uneducated.

I've read some really negative reviews, and I'm surprised they're about this pharmacy. My experience has always been good, with no problems whatsoever.
David Plaza Martin★☆☆☆☆
The worst pharmacy in town. The clerk was incredibly rude and lacked empathy. I had to go in urgently because I needed to buy something and wasn't wearing a mask. Not only did she reprimand me, saying it was mandatory—I was already inside, I know it's mandatory, but sometimes there are emergencies—but she insisted it was. I told her that if she didn't help me, I'd go to another pharmacy, which is exactly what I had to do. I hope fewer and fewer people go there, and if you ever have a problem, you're treated exactly the same way. I'm leaving my negative review here in the hopes that things will change. It's no wonder they have so many negative reviews.
Santiago Benjamin villalon martin★★★★★
An amazing pharmacy! A really nice guy named David helped me with great attention to detail and was very friendly. I would recommend it a thousand times over.
Wen Zhang★☆☆☆☆
This pharmacy is completely irresponsible. They lost our prescription without notifying us. How can a pharmacy lose a customer's prescription? And without even telling us. And it's impossible to get through to them on the phone. They never answer. Once they have our medication, they forget to let us know.
Angeles Beltran Diez★☆☆☆☆
I bought four antigen tests. Later, I saw that the health authorities had recalled them because they were defective. I went to complain because they charged me €5 each. The response was that since I didn't have the receipt—which, by the way, no pharmacy gives you unless you specifically ask for it—they wouldn't refund my money or exchange them for others. This was after I called them beforehand and they told me to bring them in. In the end, I'm out the €20 and they're still profiting off us. Very bad, I won't buy anything there again.

Today I ordered an Uber for my son and had some questions, so I left a note with the order. They didn't hesitate to call me and help. It's so great to have such excellent service! They gave me advice, and when the order arrived, there were little gifts for my son and a note! Thank you so much for everything! Keep up the good work; you're doing a fantastic job. ❤️😘

The staff's treatment of customers leaves much to be desired: inappropriate responses, rude manner, and a complete lack of empathy. They have absolutely no desire to help or find logical solutions, not to mention their lack of professionalism and commitment.
Siri Nidhan Kaur★★★★★
"Sometimes online reviews reflect a specific moment or a misunderstanding, but they don't do justice to the daily reality of a dedicated team. As a regular customer of this pharmacy, my experience is the complete opposite of what's described. The service I receive is always characterized by great empathy, patience, and deep compassion, especially when I'm going through a difficult time. If they ever take a little longer with a medication, it's purely out of rigor and professionalism to ensure everything is correct, not due to a lack of willingness. For me, the service and warmth of this team are impeccable with everyone."
Almudena Garcia san juan★☆☆☆☆
The worst pharmacy in Valladolid. The staff are unfriendly and curt. It takes three hours to find a medication, and they only treat you well if they know you and like you. This is a stark contrast to the pharmacy on Maria De Molina street, where they actually know their stuff and the service is impeccable. Thank goodness there are other pharmacies in Valladolid.
Marian C Herrera★★★★★
I received excellent service; the staff were very friendly. I greatly appreciate their professionalism, as they helped us with different opinions about the product to help us decide.

L V★☆☆☆☆
Noticeably more expensive than other nearby pharmacies, at least for the product I bought. I don't think I'll be back; pharmacies already make enough profit without inflating prices even further. It doesn't seem fair. I'm editing my review after checking at other pharmacies. The product I bought, Aquilea Sueño Compact 60 tablets, costs around €17 at several pharmacies, and here I paid almost €22. I actually mentioned to the woman who served me that I was surprised the price had gone up so much; I remembered paying around €17 at other pharmacies, but she didn't even flinch, she didn't say a word. I don't recommend this pharmacy, and we certainly won't be going back. Greed is the root of all evil!
Cristina González★☆☆☆☆
The person who served me (a gray-haired gentleman with glasses) left much to be desired. I went in with a prescription stating that I needed four boxes of a medication. He could only dispense one box and tried to keep the prescription, telling me to take a picture of it so he could get the other three boxes from another pharmacy. All this with incredibly rude behavior. "You take the picture yourself, pal." I absolutely do not recommend this pharmacy. Edit after reading your response: Indeed, I don't necessarily know how to write a prescription since I'm not in the healthcare sector, but it's a treatment I use every summer. The prescription is always for four packages on a single form, and I've never had this happen before. Nor have I tried to obtain a prescription illegally, as you imply. Other colleagues in your profession, if they couldn't dispense all four packages, have written down the number of packages dispensed in pen and stamped it on the prescription itself. So, to want to keep my prescription and tell me to take a picture... well, that's just ridiculous. This conversation is over. Have a good day.
Fernando Sanz★☆☆☆☆
Outrageous prices! 11 euros for a box of 5 Compeed heel creams in the regular version when they cost around 5-6 euros elsewhere. They don't even give you a receipt. You may have made 11 euros, but you've lost a customer. I'm never coming back.
Miriam Prádanos Estrada★★★★★
The man who attends to me is always wonderful. Just yesterday he answered several questions I had about my treatment, which were incredibly helpful, and I was able to get my prescriptions right away. I will definitely continue to go there in the future.

It's 7 PM and I just called to ask if they have an anti-epileptic medication I take, and the woman who answered (it was an employee, not Pilar) I highly doubt even bothered to check if they had it in stock. Her response to my question was far too quick and immediate... but she didn't even offer me the option of ordering it, a medication I've bought there for years, and if they don't have it, they always order it for me. Pilar is lovely, but the customer service from these employees is truly appalling. Perhaps this will help them understand that there are other nearby pharmacies with much better service.
Javi Ventura★☆☆☆☆
I received €2.25 in change, in 20, 10, and 5 cent coins, even though the previous customer had given her loose euros. The young pharmacist with blonde hair and highlights... We used to buy quite a few things there, and expensive ones at that. I feel sorry for the slightly larger woman with a somewhat bohemian look; she was quite nice. There are so many pharmacies like that. Goodbye forever.
marta vazquez★☆☆☆☆
Bad experience, the service was appalling. I needed needles for a KikPen pen and they told me they didn't have them and couldn't order them. I went to another pharmacy and they sold them to me without any problem. I expected better service and advice. I won't be back; they either didn't want to help or they didn't know what they were doing.

Excellent service. I called with a question and they were incredibly helpful. Both the owner and the employee were lovely. Highly recommended.

They're only interested in making a sale; they don't explain what they're selling or care about anything. Not recommended at all, especially if they're on duty.

Good morning. Today, August 14, 2025, around mid-morning, I went to the pharmacy to buy a 400mg box of generic ibuprofen. The person who served me (a middle-aged man) refused to sell it to me, saying a prescription was required. However, he offered to sell me a 400mg bottle of fast-acting ibuprofen without a prescription, even though it was considerably more expensive. He gave me a "masterclass" because he said he wanted to explain it to me. It wasn't very helpful because I left not understanding why he wouldn't sell me one but would sell me the more expensive one, with the same dose and even faster-acting. After consulting the regulations for selling medications, it turns out that it is indeed possible to buy what he refused me without a prescription, and I was able to buy it without one at three other pharmacies I visited afterward to verify what had happened. Thank you for your explanation in response to my review. The explanation I received from the person who helped me wasn't very detailed; they only offered me the most expensive alternative. In other pharmacies, it's possible to buy the 400mg generic (without rapid effect) for less than half the price of what this pharmacy offered. There's a much cheaper 400mg generic alternative in fewer than 20 tablets, which wasn't offered to me at this pharmacy. Every other pharmacy I've been to has offered me this option. Regards

Fantastic professionals. Two of us went to ask for advice on some products and skincare routines, and they treated us wonderfully. We left delighted, we'll recommend them to everyone, and we'll always come back whenever we need anything.
Anabel A.C★☆☆☆☆
The service from the middle-aged blonde saleswoman was appalling and unpleasant. The moment we asked for Enanthium, she gave us a nasty look. She went into the pharmacy and came out shouting about how we could take whatever we wanted, how we thought it was normal to *self-medicate*, and countless other absurdities, as if we were in a criminal trial, even though it's an over-the-counter medication. It's unacceptable to go to a pharmacy for something you genuinely need and be treated and judged this way. The best part is that there are two other pharmacies on the same street, and in both—I repeat, BOTH—we had no problems whatsoever. She should know how to treat customers. It was an absolutely dreadful experience. I will never return, especially knowing that there are two other pharmacies on her street.

We went to buy some eye drops and my father was ripped off. They charged him 17 EUROS!!! When we checked other pharmacies, they were 5. We couldn't believe it; the same brand was three times more expensive. What shameless crooks! A price completely different from everyone else's, and they pull that fast one on you.
Patricia Llorente★☆☆☆☆
Avoid this pharmacy at all costs. I ordered two pediatric medications. One was given to me for adults, and I had to go back because it didn't match, and it was indeed wrong. The other was a compounded prescription that they assured me would be ready the next day, and then they called to say they'd made a mistake and wouldn't! You can't play around with these things; they're medications, not t-shirts… don't go there.
Elia Prieto★★★★★
They were on duty today, Sunday. In Valladolid, everything is closed on Sundays, so it's a matter of going to the on-call pharmacies. My health card app was blocked, and while they can give you medication with your ID in Madrid, in Valladolid it doesn't work; it has to be the card. After a while, I managed to unlock it by changing the password, and they were able to access my medication. The woman who helped us was incredibly kind!

Good morning. After spending over €23 on medication, when asked if I needed a bag, I saw on the receipt that they charged me €0.20 for it, even though other times they haven't charged me anything for it. I think they should at least mention that there's a charge for the bag. Thank you very much, now I know which pharmacy not to go back to. The arrogance and high-handedness in their response demonstrates a lack of professionalism.

At Cruz Verde Pharmacy, the customer service is unbeatable. From the moment you walk in, the team greets you with a smile and is always ready to help. It's clear they're not just professional, but also empathetic, friendly, and respectful. I always find what I need there, from medications to personal care products, cosmetics, and natural supplements. Without a doubt, it's my go-to pharmacy.

I've been a customer of this pharmacy for many years, and I have to say that it's changed drastically lately. I'm referring to the staff. There's a woman named Montaña who serves customers with a sour face, and it's clear she doesn't enjoy customer service at all, as she's incredibly rude at the slightest provocation. The other one, Lidia, is much the same; she makes faces at the slightest provocation, and it's impossible to understand her. They constantly criticize customers in a blatant way. It's nothing like the days when Ana, Teresa, or Carla worked there—it was a pleasure to be served by them! Carmen, I think you're doing your business a disservice with these women. From what I understand, customers have already gone to other nearby pharmacies for these reasons. If I were you, I'd reconsider.

Exceptional and personalized service. They try to answer any questions or solve any problems you may have. I personally had a problem with something I ordered, and they were incredibly helpful. They ordered another model for me, had me try it on there perfectly, and refunded my money if it wasn't what I needed. I highly recommend them. Thank you

Practical Tips for Using Pharmacies in Valladolid

Knowing how the local pharmacy system works can save you time and ensure you get the best possible care during your visit or daily life in the city. The following tips will help you navigate the process smoothly, from understanding opening hours to knowing what to ask the pharmacist.

First, pay attention to the green cross sign and the illuminated "Farmacia" sign. By law, every pharmacy displays this symbol, making them easy to spot even on narrow medieval streets. If a pharmacy is closed, the door will typically display a notice listing the nearest open pharmacies and their addresses.

Second, learn about the "Farmacia de Guardia" system. Outside normal business hours, nights, Sundays, and public holidays, a rotating schedule ensures that at least one pharmacy in every zone remains open. You can find the current on-duty pharmacy by checking the local newspaper, using a pharmacy locator app, or looking at the sign posted on any closed pharmacy door.

Third, do not hesitate to ask for a generic medication. Spanish pharmacists are required to offer the cheapest available generic version of a prescribed drug. If you are paying out of pocket or want to save money, explicitly asking for "el genérico" can significantly reduce your costs without compromising quality.

Fourth, bring your European Health Insurance Card if you are an EU citizen. This card allows you to access state healthcare and prescription medication at the same subsidized rates as Spanish residents. For non-EU visitors, travel insurance is essential, as you will typically pay the full retail price for any medication.

Finally, treat the pharmacist as a first point of contact for minor health issues. They are highly trained clinicians who can assess symptoms like a sore throat, mild skin rash, or an upset stomach and recommend the appropriate over-the-counter treatment. This can be much faster and more cost-effective than seeking a doctor’s appointment for non-urgent concerns.

Navigating healthcare in a new city can feel daunting, but the network of pharmacies in Valladolid’s centre is designed to be accessible and responsive. Whether you need a prescription filled after a visit to a local clinic or simply require sunscreen for an afternoon exploring the Campo Grande, these professionals are there to support your wellbeing.

Remember that the pharmacist’s role in Spain extends far beyond the cash register. They are a trusted source of health information and practical advice. By understanding how to use their services effectively, you can ensure that your time in Valladolid is both healthy and enjoyable, with the peace of mind that expert help is always just around the corner.
