Murcia is a city that surprises visitors with its relaxed rhythm, elegant plazas, and genuine local character. While it is famous for its Baroque cathedral and sunny plazas, the city also holds a reputation as one of the most rewarding shopping destinations in southeastern Spain. From centuries-old trading streets to sleek retail parks, the commercial landscape here blends tradition with modern convenience.
Shopping in Murcia is not just about buying things; it is about experiencing the daily life of the city. Locals still gather in historic squares to chat, browse family-run shops, and stop for a coffee between errands. As a visitor, you can easily spend a full day moving from artisan workshops to high-street fashion stores without ever feeling rushed.
The city center is wonderfully compact, making it easy to explore on foot. Most of the main shopping streets fan out from the cathedral and the river, so you are never far from a shaded bench or a tapas bar. This pedestrian-friendly layout is one of the reasons Murcia feels so welcoming for shoppers of all ages.
You will find a strong mix of independent boutiques, Spanish brands, and international names. Whether you are searching for handmade ceramics, leather goods, designer clothing, or gourmet food, Murcia offers a balanced selection. The prices are often more reasonable than in Madrid or Barcelona, which adds to the appeal.
The climate also plays a role in how people shop here. Many locals prefer to browse in the cooler morning hours or after the afternoon siesta, when the streets come alive again. If you plan your visit around these rhythms, you will enjoy a more authentic and comfortable experience.
From covered markets filled with fresh produce to polished shopping centers on the edge of town, there is a retail environment for every taste. Some areas specialize in luxury, while others focus on everyday essentials or unique gifts. Knowing where to go will save you time and help you find exactly what you are looking for.
Below, you will discover the best shopping areas in Murcia, each with its own personality and strengths. Use this guide to plan your route, uncover hidden gems, and make the most of your time in this underrated Spanish city.

If you are home sick or want a view of American Malls from a decade ago when they were still nice, this is the place. It is a modern clean mall. It os what you expect. Do not visit on Sunday. Only the food court is open.
Redwanul Islam★★★★★
Nice, impressively spacious shopping mall with a laid-back vibe! Clean, free toilets (unlike malls of similar status in Berlin, for instance) and there are free drinking water dispensers too. Large collection of shops is a plus. The mall is very close to the tram stop of the same name, making it easy to access.
Bulgaru Adrian★★★★★
Great shopping centre with a wide variety of stores, restaurants, and plenty of parking. Clean, modern, and perfect for spending a few relaxing hours shopping and eating. One of the best malls in Murcia
Ian Winters★★★★★
An easy to find commercial centre with ample parking and welcoming food court upon arrival, even just to take a coffee or cold drink to start. Great selection of shops and restaurants.
Shady van de Pol★★★★★
Spain has adopted the Animal Wellness Law in 2023, allowing dogs in shops and even restaurants, unless local regulations or the premises state the contrary.
I had written a bad review not knowing the new rules of the mall. Nueva Condomina took the time to clarify and therefore I edited this review and gave them 5 stars 👍

A good shopping Mall, close to IKEA and retail park, and has a good selection of shops and excellent multi screen cinema within the complex. Bars, restaurant's and coffee shops are mostly on the 1st floor.Has most of the Ample parking above ground and underground. Lifts from underground parking level to ground and first floor. Large Al Campo hipermarket within the Mall.
Eric Bos★★★★☆
Big and nice shopping mall, free parking enough shops and restaurants. There is a lot to do for the kids like karting, gaming and playground.
Ionutz★★★★★
This comercial centre is very nice and somehow cozy. A lot of terraces for drink and food, friendly staff everywhere . Evenings are better here👌
Kav★★★★★
Not a bad shopping mall with a reasonable range of shops and eating establishments in the mall. Outside the is also a Decathlon store for all you sporting needs and a range of other retailers and you're right beside an Ikea as well, in fact your within easy walking distance of probably all the retailers you could need for a successful day spent shopping

Compared the magnificent commercial centre of Nueva Condomina, Thader just looks and feels tired

Nice shopping center, free wifi and restrooms, large parking . They even play nice music!
Emilija Juchneviciute★★★★★
I come here several times a week. It is convenient and well equipped with different services apart from Supermarket. I have shopped here so many times that I know all the staff by heart ❤😊 Thank you for your daily good work. Parking is convenient, easy to navigate and spacious. Toilets are clean. Stores have good working hours and it is sometimes open in Sundays (benefit!!)
Can't wait for the Toy storebto reopen! And thanks for various art and museum expositions! Really entertaining the children!
C Johnson★★★★★
Really like this shopping centre, has Carrefour Hyprrmarket which was ideal for buying books. Perfect if you are staying in the Nelva hotel as only 5 minutes walk.
Adrian Palma★★★★☆
It's a small shopping mall. You can find a big supermarket where you can find almost everything, from food to electronic devices, phones, TVs, and even clothes. There are some other clothes stores an coffee shops. There is also a toy shop and several other businesses.
Shasa Lo Russo★★★★☆
Murcia is full of mall, this is just one of them. It has many different shops, there is a very big gym and a supermarket. If you want to go shopping I would recommend other places such as Nueva Condomina but if you are nearby you can find enough shops to be satisfied ☺️

The mall is 6km away from the city center. The road is a highway mostly so it only takes like 10 to 12 minutes to get there; traffic can be slow though. Open and huge parking right there.
Stores are ok, but my favourites are Nike Outlet Store and Levi's. There are a few more and some are famous brands too...
Prices are good or even pure bargains if you pick the right item, but you'll need to do a good search.
Good luck!
Peter McMahon★★★★★
Very quiet the day we went. All shop staff friendly and the burger king was very good
Juergen Thomas★★★☆☆
Well, a very lonely place. Half of the shops are not rented out and the offer is pretty clear. An additional section was built, not opened yet though. Enough parking space, also shadow parking underground. Not necessarily a must be place, but OK for a stop over.
Aisling Mulligan★★★★★
Do not waste your time coming here. Majority of the shops are closed and it’s pretty lifeless except for Burger King and Mercadona.
Nilitooo★★★☆☆
La Ñoria Outlet is okay but not amazing. There are a couple of good stores, but not a huge selection overall. Not many places to eat either, though the new Mercadona is a plus. It’s fine for a quick stop, but there are definitely better shopping centres nearby. 🛍️

ALICANTE - Lovely department store with a fabulous food and wine section. The small bar at the front with windows looking out on to the Main Street is touch of genius, very relaxing and chic!
Christopher Muro★★★★☆
Great large mall downtown Murcia. We browsed through the store, but all the items were not priced well for us. Not sure who purchases these expensive items in the department store. The grocery store was better priced. We bought some yummy treats to eat outside while the kids enjoyed the park.
Geert Peelaerts★★★★★
I bought a Nijon camera with discount. Receuved extra insurance without cost. Cery friendly and correct staff.
Malcolm Thomas★★★★☆
Love the shopping experience when aboard. It's very similar to John Lewis in the UK, but with a much better restaurant experience.
Rosa Espindola★★★★★
Oh wow. Is there anything this store doesn't have? Mucho of everything and every brand and every single designer; you name it. Fragrances, beauty products, clothing, electronics a post office and even a dry cleaner. Bakeries, bars, and a supermarket with lots and lots of food. Anyway, better than Disneyland. Murcia's Corte Ingles is very awesome. I love shopping there. But please don't ask me about prices. Salud.

Beautiful mega store, with parking and air conditioning. Parking extremely expensive. Price reductions on items for customers with loyalty card of Corte Ingles, which means foreigners pay much more than locals. The cortygatos and cortylandia is fantastic, great fun
Mary O'Sullivan★★☆☆☆
This chain seems to be in decline. Went with a 10% off package from a hotel, during the sales but found prices still too high and stock a bit short in HOKA shoes for instance. 600 thread cotton sheets were an exorbitant price versus similar or better in Dublin. El Corte was always a destination for me on trips to Spain, but in the last many years, it has become too expensive. Such a pity as it's a wonderful institution. Online competition may (understandably) be taking a toll...
All that said, the wine selection is very good and we bagged a bargain there!
Fran Woods★★★★★
Everything you could want under one roof. A Christmas market outside during the season with an animated shop for children and adults alike.
Thomas Curry★★★★★
Very good selection, they have many floors with many different types of product. I particularly like to go here and use their supermarket. It's slightly more expensive than other supermarkets but the quality of the produce is very high.
Jim Bowen★★★☆☆
Your typical Spanish shopping centre. Certainly departments (eg electricals) aren’t in the main building. Cameras are pricey there. It might be worth shopping around for some things?

Deserted! Only the food court is open. Ice skating indoors is pretty cool
Arjan★★★★★
Beautiful shopping mall, easy free parking. Nice variety of shops. Open from 10 am to 10 pm. You can spent easily 2 -3 hours here. Between 4 and 7 very few visitors. Worth a visit, also after vistiting some nearby sites (eg water park).
Cu Dre★★★★★
Indoor ice-skating, bowling and a film at the cinema just €14..cracking fun day for kids. Starts at 5pm so plan your movie. Ice rink staff very helpfull and the guy speaks enough English to get by. Shame the el corte ingles closed but still plenty of food places to relax and enjoy a good afternoon or evening out. Especially for teens.
Sean Gray★★★☆☆
If you don't already know, el corte ingles, and hiper cor are no longer here, but there's bowling and a cinema, and plenty of places to eat and drink.

Large Carrefour plus lots of smaller shops, many of which are independent.
There is a gym & Mr Minit, and lots of places to eat.
There are toilets on bth floors.
Everything is clean and tidy, and a good temperature.
What a pity that cheapskates are in their motor homes in the car park - they should pay to stay in a proper site.
Mutos★★★☆☆
We came here hoping to find a Lamine Yamal football shirt, but the shopping centre was a bit disappointing. Apart from the large Carrefour, there weren’t many stores that really caught our interest and the overall selection felt quite limited. It’s a convenient place if you need groceries or a few essentials, but as a shopping destination we expected a bit more.
Conner Regan★★★★★
After reading comments on it being “small” I found the place to be reasonably sized shopping centre , lots of stores and choice inside and a nice food court upstairs.
Very clean and modern, all around good day out.
Sandra Mutch★★★★☆
Loved the Carrefour couple nice cafes. Clean but the toilet let it down. Smelly and dirty. Shame
John Battson★★★★☆
Been many times since it’s opened and felt it had over recent years been declining but went yesterday and some new shops and restaurants and yeah had a great couple hours there.

Great place to go out for a few hours
The old C&A is here.
And Mcdonalds and KFC are only 4 minutes aways.
There is food to buy up stairs in the shopping centre but not Mcdonalds you have to drive 4 minutes away.

A great place to shop for everything. From clothes and shoes, telephones and nail stuff to groceries. Nice parking upstairs and underground. Love to come back to.

The shopping 🛍 Park at Lorca Parque Almenara is a modern, clean, easy to walk around and very well laid out shopping 🛍 centre out of town on the main RM11 Aguilas to Lorca Road. Very impressive 👏 and a place where you will want to return to again. As well as a superb range of Home and Personal Shops, it has a large amount of earing options on the top floor of the main centre.
Janice Wood★☆☆☆☆
Update your website. I travelled 70 kilometres to come to the centre only to find it closed due to a local holiday!! I had to then go to nueva condomina..... Another hour plus away which was a waste of time. After spending a hour there I then had the 2 hour 20 minute drive home.

Fantastic shopping experience. Everything you could possibly want is here. Easy to park too with loads of spaces and electric car charging points. Good shopping centre. Lots of clothes shops so you have a great choice. Lots of places to eat. Lovely and cool in the summer. With a huge Carrefour hypermarket attached that sells everything.

We stopped at the new park up for motorhomes
I looked on Google and saw a shopping mall just round the corner and thought great
we love Mercado's supermarket
So we set off to walk there to say what a dirty place around the area that's an understatement and that road you have to take your life in your hands to cross it my wife is disabled
cars would not let us cross the road even when crossing lights were on green for us
there was rubbish everywhere over grown weeds and shrubs everywhere
We walked down a narrow path to come to a complete stop the path just stopped
Will not be returning the local council should be ashamed of the state of the place
The park looked nice but we did not feel safe there
We have been all over Spain and
this is the first time we have felt uncomfortable in a town
I hope you pass my comments on to the local government body
But being Murcia I would think nothing will happen
Fintan McMahon★★☆☆☆
Not a great experience. Firstly there are a lot of shops permanently shut. Then it was just after 2 pm so siesta time. But given all that it was a very disappointing visit. Won’t be back.

Good place when you need a lot of stuff at one place and don’t have a lot of time for searching in a city of Aguilas. Problem that center is almost closed at non summer sime, so good only for food.
Luna Encantada★☆☆☆☆
What happened? It's empty of shops! Luckily we only needed Carrefour but it just looks like a ghost town.
Hobbs Caz★★★☆☆
Carrefore is pretty much the only shop that's open. Most of the others have never been open. Or not occupied at all. Has been like this for 2 years
Tina Schmidt★★☆☆☆
It's really depressing. Most stores are closed! There is a pharmacy, a closing store and a decent sized Carrefour open (and some arcade games). But even Carrefour was pretty empty (with very nice staff at the register). The toilets were spotless clean! Felt sorry! If you need to by food or use the bathroom: recommend. But other than that.... 🙁
Karen★★★★☆
Mainly use for the big Carrefour supermarket. Not many other shops are now open which gives a very run down appearance. A pleasant cafe next to the supermarket and a lotto shop. No more than 10 other outlets though. Clean and tidy with plenty of parking beneath. Petrol also available at reasonable price.

Tips for Shopping in Murcia
To get the most out of your retail experience in Murcia, it helps to understand a few local habits and practical details. These simple suggestions will make your shopping trip smoother, more enjoyable, and often more affordable.
Plan around opening hours. Many smaller shops close between roughly 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM for the traditional siesta. Larger department stores and shopping centers usually stay open all day, but independent boutiques may not reopen until late afternoon.
Carry some cash. While most shops accept credit and debit cards, small market stalls, artisan workshops, and some family-run stores prefer cash for low-value purchases. Having a few euros on hand will also help you grab a quick coffee or pastry while you browse.
Wear comfortable shoes. The historic center is best explored on foot, and many streets are paved with polished stone or tiles. You will cover more ground than you expect, especially if you visit several shopping areas in one day.
Look for local products. Murcia is known for its ceramics, olive oil, wines from Jumilla, and artisanal foods. Instead of buying generic souvenirs, seek out these regional specialties in covered markets and independent food shops.
Take advantage of sales seasons. The main rebajas, or sales, take place in January and July. During these periods, discounts can be significant, especially in clothing and footwear stores. Arrive early for the best selection.
Use the tram and buses for outer areas. While the city center is walkable, some shopping centers and retail parks are located on the outskirts. Murcia’s tram line and local buses are affordable and easy to use, saving you from expensive taxi rides.
Murcia rewards shoppers who slow down and explore beyond the obvious. The real pleasure often comes from wandering into a side street, discovering a small workshop, or chatting with a shopkeeper who has run the same business for decades. That sense of connection is hard to find in larger, more tourist-heavy cities.
Whether you are hunting for a unique gift, updating your wardrobe, or simply enjoying a leisurely afternoon of window shopping, Murcia delivers a relaxed and authentic experience. With a little planning and an open mind, you will leave with more than just shopping bags.
