12 Family-Friendly Hotels near Sainte-Chapelle

Finding the right place to stay in Paris can dramatically shape your family vacation. When you choose a hotel near Sainte-Chapelle, you are not just booking a room; you are anchoring yourself in the beating heart of the Île de la Cité. This historic island offers a surprisingly calm base, especially in the evenings when the day-trippers have gone home.

For families, the primary concern is often logistics. Staying in the 1st or 4th arrondissement near this gothic masterpiece means you are within a short, manageable walk of the Louvre, Notre-Dame, and the Latin Quarter. This proximity reduces the need for long Metro rides with tired children, saving both time and energy.

The area surrounding Sainte-Chapelle is a blend of administrative buildings, historic bridges, and charming pedestrian zones. While it can be busy during the day with tourists and legal professionals, the early mornings offer a quiet, almost village-like atmosphere. This allows families to grab a fresh croissant and enjoy the riverbanks before the crowds arrive.

When selecting a family-friendly hotel here, you must look beyond just the square footage. The best properties in this district understand the nuances of hosting families, offering interconnected rooms, flexible check-in times, and staff who are genuinely welcoming to younger guests. It is about creating a stress-free environment.

Accessibility is another major benefit of this location. The Cité Metro station (Line 4) and Saint-Michel station (RER B and C) are on your doorstep. The RER B provides a direct, step-free connection to Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports, which is invaluable when navigating luggage and strollers.

However, the historic nature of the island means some buildings are older and may lack modern amenities like large elevators or sprawling lobbies. Therefore, the hotels on this list have been curated specifically for their ability to balance historic charm with the practical, modern comforts that families require.

From apartment-style suites with kitchenettes to full-service hotels with concierge services that can arrange babysitting, there is a perfect fit for every family size and budget. Let’s explore the top family-friendly accommodations that place you just steps away from the stunning stained glass of Sainte-Chapelle.

We picked the Dauphine Saint Germain hotel based upon its location and reasonable price - so glad we made that choice! First, the hotel is in the heart of the Left Bank with the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Musée d'Orsay, Latin Quarter, and Luxembourge Garden all within a short walk. Saint Germain is a happening street, lively until the wee hours. Our clean room faced the courtyard, thus extremely quiet and peaceful. This was important to us after the chaos of the city. All members of the staff were kind and helpful. Example: We asked to check in very early (before noon). They couldn't promise, of course, yet our room was available when we arrived - outstanding! The hotel had a cozy bar which is open 24/7 where we could chat with other guests. We highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing stay in January at the Hotel Dauphine. Staff are attentive and available, competent and courteous. They were always available to answer questions. Rooms are clean and bathrooms recently remodeled. Breakfast is high quality and has some hot offerings which is rare for a smaller hotel. One of the best things about this hotel is the location. You can reach multiple museums and monuments on foot quickly. Neighborhood restaurants are historic and delicious. Great for people wanting to hit tourist attractions but also get some of the local shopping and cafe lifestyle.

We are so happy we booked this hotel. I was greeted by a lovely concierge who was extremely helpful upon arrival. My room was actually ready early morning and was given the opportunity to check in early! The small twin room was really cute and very in the style of Parisian decor, dark wood beams, exposed, beautiful blue, and white tapestries walls with a French country theme. It had a sitting desk that also housed the television and the teapot. Loved the little detail of the tea pot to make tea in the room, as well as the variety of teas provided. It also had a small wardrobe where I was able to hang up my coats which helped with the organization of the room since it was two of us splitting it. My cousin and I both loved how comfortable the bed was and the beautiful tub. I will say that if you are a person who struggles with stepping in and out of things, maybe the bathrooms aren’t for you, but we loved the tub. The bathroom also had a blow dryer, which was an awesome perk. We saw that they served breakfast every morning although we didn’t try it. It looked like a good mix of pastries, yogurts, fruits, and charcuterie. They do offer hotel guests, free coffee, and water throughout the day, which is another great perk. Also, the location was wonderful. We were about 20-30 minutes walking to many Paris notable places. The street the hotel sits on also has a good choice of restaurants and shops. Overall, I’m very content with this hotel.

I checked out today and went back and reviewed what I originally booked. A superior double. I am giving this two stars because our room did not match the photos online. The online pictures had far bigger windows and a larger desk and a larger bathroom. There are a few things that come with an older hotel that is just how it is, not affecting my review: you can hear all intimate details from your neighbors, the shower, and room was small, things a little older. The shower temperature was unable to hold a steady temp and would jump between cold and hot. But for $350 a night there are a few things that could improve the experience for guests. The mattress was cheap and sagged. The pillows were well past their prime, flat and uncomfortable. The shower head was so small it would only get part of you wet, high efficiency larger shower heads is a simple swap. The towels were cheap and scratchy. In the shower itself it was a 3x3 stall with a cheap curtain, it only had a body wash/shampoo combination in a single bottle, no conditioner, no body lotion. I did not raise my concerns with the front desk because these issues are for the managers to solve, not the desk. I liked the location, but would not stay here again.

My little Yorkie and myself had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I was travelling solo and the room was more than enough for us. I was on the first floor with view to another building, which was fine because it meant quietness. The room and bathroom was very clean, there is a small refrigerator and also a tea/coffee making station. The hotel is very close to a metro station and different cafes and restaurants. The street stays busy until late and as a solo female traveller, this is a plus. But in general, it’s a nice safe area where you can use public transport or walk to many sites. I would stay here again if in Paris.

Wonderful, highly recommended. Just checked out after 3 days of stay with my husband. Rooms are all newly designed also lobby. Beautiful. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Superb location next to Luxemburg gardens. 8 min walk to RER. Lots of dinning options just couple of min walking. Was extremely hot but the hotel have great air-conditioning - did not feel the heat at all.

I stayed here recently with my husband and four year old. The hotel could not have been better. The staff was pleasant and attentive. I also felt very secure with someone always being at the front desk to greet you. The breakfast is lovely, and a perfect way to start your day before touring around Paris. I found the location ideal for visiting the main monuments and museums. You are steps away from the Luxembourg Gardens, which was particularly nice when traveling with a toddler. The room was well appointmented; the bed and pillows were comfy, the shower hot with good water pressure, there is a nice tea and coffee station, and you get fresh water daily. I would not hesitate to stay here again..

We had a lovely 10 night stay. This gem of a hotel is tucked away on a quiet Paris street yet feels close to everything. Great cafes and restaurants nearby, plus a pharmacy and grocer across the street. The rooms were very clean and pleasant. We were lucky to have a balcony which we sat on frequently, perfect for taking in that beautiful Paris spring weather. Staff were very friendly, and one of the receptionists Caroline was very helpful with answering my questions via email beforehand, she was quick and informative. All other staff were friendly and showed my fiancee how to use the nespresso machine. We ordered room service one morning and it was delightful and arrived on time, at exactly 8:30 on the dot which was the time we indicated we wanted it. The seltzer water on arrival was a nice touch. Not a complaint, but just as a heads up to foreign travelers, the rooms and elevator are very small compared to American standards. But we found our room to be perfectly adequate for size, even for a 10 night stay. This hotel was the key to having a lovely first trip to Paris.

My wife and I were on vacation and chose this hotel based on its reviews. We felt incredibly welcome, and the service was absolutely fantastic. Breakfast was served in a nice, cozy space, and the service there was also wonderful and friendly. The croissants and pain au chocolat were delicious, too! The location is absolutely perfect. We walked to Notre Dame and the Louvre, but took public transit to see places like the Eiffel Tower. The RER station is just a short walk away, which offers a direct train connection straight from CdG airport. The Luxembourg Gardens (Jardin du Luxembourg) are also right nearby and well worth a visit.

Wonderful hotel close to the metro, RER, and the sights along the Seine or Île de la Cité. The staff were very courteous and responsive, they promptly responded when we notified them of our unfortunate delay. The only minor, but tolerable, downsides were the small elevator (results in long waits during checkout time or breakfast) and the beds were a little hard! We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing stay at Relais Du Louvre! The customer service was exceptional, everyone was friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The rooms were beautiful with a charming boutique feel, and everything was clean and well maintained. The elevator was surprisingly great (a nice bonus in Paris!), and the air conditioning worked phenomenally, which made our stay very comfortable. The location is fantastic and made it easy to explore the city. The only minor downside was that the shower was a bit small, but it certainly didn’t take away from the overall experience. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return!

We stayed here in the summer of 2023 and It keeps recurring to me how well this hotel established our stay, and set the stage for a wonderful vacation week in Paris. We travelled as a family of four. The hotel facility was lovely- it did not appear corporate; rather it was a smaller hotel with great personalized service. The breakfast baskets in the morning were high quality and adorable. The accommodations were both modern and traditional, and well planned. But what I most remember were the lovely staff at the front desk. They were so dedicated to helping us plan our week- it felt like they were constantly at work to make sure we were able to enjoy ourselves both in the hotel, and with the activities we planned. The warmth of their dedication to their guests was so meaningful to us, and really filled us with happiness an made our trip special. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Harold Bien★★★★★
First time in Paris and this tiny hotel located right next to the Louvre with the Eiffel tower visible just several steps towards the Seine, an old cathedral adjacent and visible from our window. Great personal service in this cozy hotel where your are always personally greeted. The windows open to the fresh air. While there is traffic along the Seine, the rooms itself is usually quiet even with the windows open and you are not blasted by the sounds of traffic. Breakfast, which is extra at $16€ per person is delivered to your room. It was delicious with the usual croissants, baguette, optimal yogurt, choice of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, and fresh squeezed juice. Turns out there was too much food for us to eat. Conveniently located right next to the Point Neuf metro station and easily walkable from Les Halles station which connects to the Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) via the rail (RER). Took us about 1 hour to slowly walk to the Eiffel tower with plenty of stops along the way. The room was spacious enough for the two of us and our 10 year old child. The building itself is rather old but this adds to the charm and there are no visible deficiencies.

Boutique Historic Hotel in the 1st, walk around the corner and you're at the Louvre or the Pont Neuf bridge, Metro and bus also. Walk to the Isle & Notre Dame. I love the view of the rooftops out the window, which not only has a privacy shade but also a Blackout Shade in case you want to sleep in. The Hotel Site has pictures of the bedside and the non-working fireplace which is a nice aesthetic however I thought I would add the other views of the room that I enjoyed. The benefit of the elevator is terrific and it fit my husband myself and our 2 carry on suitcases, we also enjoyed taking the stairs a couple times even if we were on the 6th floor- I love a circular staircase. Room 62 fantastic. has to be the best location and well worth the price. If you have a morning breakfast it's wonderful in your room to have time to get ready and then go out for the day. There's actually enough croissant or bread and ham and cheese to take yourself a little snack for the day. The only negative for room 62 would be if you have some mobility issue and can't step into a high bathtub. The bath has the European shower and half glass. the private toilet area is very nice with the built-in bidet and heated seat. Very nice on a cold morning. The people are so wonderful and helpful it makes the perfect location even better.
Jeff Savarino★★★★★
Located right across the street from the louvre. Located right near the metro, walking distance to many attractions such as the Seine and the Eiffel Tower. The rooms are comfortable albeit on the tighter side (standard European room). I can’t say enough positive things about the staff. They are accommodating, kind, and lovely to interact with. They truly do go above and beyond making us feel welcome and ensuring that we enjoy our stay with them.

This Hotel was a lovely surprise. I arrived in knowing the central location was fantastic. I was greeted by fantastic Reception staff who had me in my room and organised quickly and were able to give me some great local tips. My room was spacious and the kitchenette was unexpected and greatly appreciated. Refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, and dishwasher all included. This helped to keep costs down. The coffee machine was received with joy -yay! They have a hot drinks station downstairs, two different lounge areas, a breakfast room (I opted for no breakfast - I had the kitchen), luggage storage, and they even were giving everyone ice cones on one morning when it was quite hot. The St Germain restaurant precinct is right behind it and you are spoilt for choice of wonderful cafes and restaurants. Pont de Neuf was a 2 minute walk as was the Louvre. I'd 100% stay here again. Fabulous in every way.

We had an outstanding stay at Citadines Saint-Germain-des-Prés Paris in early January 2026. The front desk staff handled a booking complication with professionalism, kindness, and efficiency, ensuring our comfort and a seamless stay in one room for the duration of our visit. We were especially impressed by the hotel’s integrity and professionalism when a family member accidentally left an important bag behind after checkout. The staff quickly secured the item and returned it to us after proper identification, with all contents intact. Exceptional service, prime location, thoughtful amenities, and a truly dedicated team. Highly recommended.

Absolutely not worth €400 per night. The air conditioning barely worked. The room was like a sauna during the day and remained unbearably hot at night, making it impossible to sleep. The front desk acknowledged the issue but could only offer a fan, which simply blew hot air around the room and solved nothing. Both of us felt physically unwell because of it. The bathroom was also unacceptable. The shower head was broken and sprayed water everywhere, making it impossible to shower properly. On top of that, the room layout was terrible. A large wall partition blocked the walking space, so once we opened our luggage, there was hardly any room to move. We reported these problems multiple times, but the hotel failed to provide any effective solution. Paying €400 per night for such poor facilities and service is completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel.
Rochelle Rielly★★★★★
Outstanding accommodation! The staff were really helpful. The location was awesome. There were lots of extras - a laundry, water cooler with sparkling water, ice creams one day! Air con worked fine. We were able to put our push-bikes in our room

I booked two nights at this hotel but left after only one night because the room was not acceptable. The reception itself was okay, but the check-in experience was made uncomfortable by a man in the lobby who repeatedly tried to convince me to join the hotel’s loyalty programme. He kept pressing the point even after I had clearly indicated I was not interested. The main problem was the room. There was a noticeable smell of mould, the carpet felt dirty and unpleasant, and I did not feel comfortable taking my shoes off at any point. The furniture was very worn, and there were signs of poor maintenance, including bubbling paint. The air conditioning also did not work, which made the room hot and uncomfortable. Breakfast was also disappointing. I did not find it to be a good experience and chose to go to a nearby café instead. After one night, I decided I could not stay for the second night and booked another hotel. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel.

Perfect location and price. The front desk attendees Jamal and Matthias were so very helpful and kind which added the perfect touch to our trip. We dropped a glass in our bathroom and Jamal personally swept it up and made sure we were safe. He even gave us slippers just in case and checked in with us the next morning. Matthias was super helpful with our check in and flagging us a taxi. It was 5 star service and we were very happy to have piping cold ac during the heat wave.

If you're looking for a clean, safe and central located hotel, this is the place. It's a 50m walk to the closest metro station, within 10 min of five of the major tourist spots in Paris. The only thing we had to travel to was the Eiffel tower and the Arc de Triomphe via train so our stay was exquisite. We stayed in the top floor suite which was absolutely worth the cost. AC was functional if not the strongest and the jets in the tub didn't work but other than that our stay was excellent. I would highly recommend staying here, the staff was extremely pleasant, helpful and attentive. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Location of this hotel is excellent for touring Paris. However it is located in a busy area of the Latin Quarter and the noise from the cafes below is clearly heard in the room. Windows are old and not soundproofed. Bring earplugs. Bathtub in our room was relatively deep, a handrail would be appreciated for safety purposes. Front desk staff did their best to solve and account for problems with check in (rooms not ready) and broken air conditioning.
Ann M★★☆☆☆
Pictures online are very deceiving compared to the room we actually got. Our bed was about two feet from the sink and shower. There was no dividing wall. Luckily the toilet had its own private space. Cleanliness is terrible as there was dust on a lot of tables. I ended up wiping everything down on my own, including the floor. Our shower looked like it had mold too. The reception area was full of clutter - boxes and boxes stacked on the table behind the desk. It was a very tight space for checking in with other people. Although the location is great, I would not recommend this hotel for the price I paid.

While this might be a 3 star hotel, we had a 5 star experience. I booked the "superior" room with balcony as a birthday surprise for my wife. And it was perfect! We were on the 5th floor and looked down on the plaza below which was busy with activity each night, and several nights we enjoyed cheese, susauge, bread and wine while watching the activity below. The room was clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed their buffet breakfast several of the days we stayed there. The location of this hotel couldn't be any better. It is literally two minutes to the Metro, and 20 minutes to the Louvre. Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle and the Conciergerie are even closer. A dozen restaurants are reachable within a three minute walk. We loved this place and definitely would stay here again.

I have zero bones to pick with this hotel- it was absolutely perfect for my solo trip. Room 505 was perfection- spacious for a Parisian hotel room, Included a desk, and had a window that opened wide to an almost unobstructed view of Notre Dame Cathedral. I loved that even when I was in my room for introvert time, I could throw open the window and still feel like I was in Paris and not a generic hotel room. Occasionally- but not too loudly- the sound of accordian music drifted up from the passage patio below: absolutely iconic. Staff was super helpful and this absolutely beat many 4 star hotels I've stayed at. Tips: 1. The front desk has a luggage scale you can borrow after you stuff your suitcase with souvenirs. 2. Definitely bring an extension cord because there aren't plugs in super convenient places. 3. Don't bother with hotel breakfast, you've got a dozen other exceptional options within a half block.
Christopher Quinn★★★★☆
Great location, can't beat it. Rooms are nice and classic (but a little dated) No dresser in room meant living out of the suitcase for the days while we were there which was a little frustrating. Especially since the room was very small. Shower in our room had no door, just a 1/3 glass so the floor would get soaked after every shower. Staff is very pleasant and helpful and, as I said, the location can't be beat. We'd be open to staying there again.
Lacey Christian★★★★★
The only downside at all to this hotel is the current renovations. I was told that it would just be painting on the front facade, but on the one day that I attempted to sleep in late there was some hammering and other noise. On the other days of my visit I simply woke up early enough to be out of the hotel before work commenced and returned in the evening after they had finished for the day. Overall, it wasn't so bad. We were offered a room discount because of the renovations, which was really nice of them. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were kind enough to put us in a room away from the construction work, and it had a view of the top of Notre Dame. The room was clean and very cozy, with the cutest decor and a nice modern bathroom. The room stayed warm despite cold temperatures outside. The bed and pillows were comfortable. I slept well here, which I rarely do in hotels. My favorite thing about the hotel was the location. This hotel is surrounded by cafes, boulangeries, patisseries, and anything else you could want. It is a quick walking distance to metro stations and several key landmarks like the Louvre, the Pantheon, Notre Dame, d'Orsay, and more. There is a passageway directly behind the hotel where you can relax outside and enjoy food from one of the restaurants without the distraction of car traffic. I would stay here again, especially since I'm sure the renovations will be complete before I am able to return to Paris again.

My daughter and I recently spent 5 nights at this lovely hotel in St. Germain and couldn’t have been happier. We stayed in a larger room, with a king bed and a day bed, and a full attached bathroom. The decor was beautiful and the included breakfast for 5 euros was a bargain. All of the staff were very kind and helpful with directions and reserving taxis to and from the airport. We arrived very early in the morning and they allowed us to check in as soon as our room was ready. The hotel is in a great location, very walkable to many sights, and also only a minute walk from a metro stop. I am already looking forward to our next stay!
Matt Gutsmiedl★★★★★
Our family of 4 stayed here. We had a family suite on the first floor. It was a king bed, a twin bed and a roll in cot. This worked out fine for our family. The location of the hotel was great. Very close to the Metro and lots of places to eat around it. Notre Dame and other sites were only a 10 minute walk.

Loved it! The position of the hotel is great. Calm, peaceful but yet really easy to get to anywhere in the city. The rooms are very quiet. Because it is on an island, there is little traffic. The breakfast was amazing. You order your food, rather than it being a buffet and everything is freshly made for you using local ingredients. The staff were some of the most friendly I have come across and very helpful. They also have afternoon tea with homemade cake in the afternoon, which looked lovely but we didn't try.

We had a wonderful stay at this cute, small hotel located on Ile Saint Louis. The location is perfect for Paris as it is close to everything (Notre Dame, Latin Quarter, Marias, Saint Chapelle, and multiple Metro stops) and yet feels quieter than any other Paris area since it is on the small island right beside Notre Dame. While the rooms are somewhat small and there is not a lot of storage space in the rooms, neither of those issues took away from an otherwise excellent stay. Staff was friendly, professional and very helpful and the breakfast, albeit a somewhat limited menu, was delicious! Great air conditioning too which came in handy as the weather was a little unexpectedly warm. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

A great find in a lovely, quiet neighbourhood, well within walking distance of major Paris attractions. We stayed for a couple of nights and found the Ile Saint-Louse a perfect base for enjoying sites like Notre Dame and the Louvre. The island has a quiet, welcoming vibe, and the same goes for the hotel. This is a boutique hotel, and the unique decor, old building, and not least incredibly welcoming staff, make for a great experience. Being in an old building means that rooms lean toward small and cozy, so if you are on the larger side or require a lot of floor space, this probably isn't for you. That is literally the only, and very minor, thing I can think of as a detractor. I would definitely recommend it, and would be more than happy to stay here again.
Bunker Blake★★★★★
Hôtel Des Deux-Iles was one of the most appealing places I have stayed in Paris. Set on Île Saint-Louis, it felt quiet, intimate, and almost village-like despite sitting in the center of the city. We could reach everything we wanted while returning each evening to a part of Paris that felt local and remarkably calm. The hotel itself was cozy, welcoming, and clearly well cared for. Our room was European in scale, meaning compact rather than expansive, but it was exceptionally clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the simplicity felt especially restorative after long days of touring. Outside the hotel, the island was filled with small shops, cafés, and an excellent brasserie that looked like the original blueprint for New York restaurants such as Pastis and Balthazar. Notre-Dame was open during our visit, before the fire, and its proximity made the neighborhood's history feel especially immediate. Now that the cathedral has reopened, this location is even easier to recommend. I would gladly stay in this part of Paris again.
Barbara G★★☆☆☆
I was excited to stay here because of the location. The hotel has a charming lobby but my room was horrible. Historic or not it it was dated and small. Some of the furniture was kid size. The bed was comfortable but it was hard to open the curtains because the building across the way could see in. With the curtains closed the room was dark and the lighting poor. The bathroom was tiny and the shower also tiny. It would have been ok but the hand held shower head was cheap so if you used it as an overhead shower, water sprayed everywhere. The only redeeming part of the bathroom was a heated towel rack. The breakfast was in a basement room but it had charming decor. The menu was the same everyday and the server had to bring you everything: coffee, bread, yogurt, eggs etc and one morning it was so hectic that 3 people were running around and it was hard to get served. Yes, it’s on Ile St Louis which is a cute street with bunches of tourists moving about. I think the hotel is upcharging due to Notre Dame Cathedral being around the corner. For 3 nights I paid over 1200 euro which was way over priced for the accommodation. I wouldn’t rate it even as a 3 star. I was solo and I can’t imagine another person in the room with me, there would be no place for luggage. Such a shame that they take advantage. No I will not stay there again, I go to Paris ever year and this is by far the worst hotel that I have stayed for the price.

For a long time Hotel Villa d’Estrees was the only boutique hotel we would consider when in Paris. We booked our most recent stay in January 2026 for a 5-night stay in March. Between our booking and arrival- the hotel was sold to the Les Hotels Saint-Louis. Our original room was in the middle of a renovation project so we accepted a 20 sq meter room versus the 35 square meter we had booked. The staff which had been there for years have moved on. Many of the new staff are nice and I am sure that post renovation the property will be nice. However, Les Hotels owns at least 10 boutique hotels in the Paris area and their business model is not the same as the old Vhila d’Estrees. Accordingly, on our next visit to Paris we will probably try another property.

TOTAL SCAM AND FRAUD!!! RUN!!! This is the worst place I have ever been stayed in my life. It is a total scam. We booked the hotel for 4 nights for our short visit in Paris. When we arrived there we were shocked to the point we assumed there should be some sort of mistake. The place was nothing like the pictures. The place was a complete wreck. Dust and construction debris all over the place, furnitures are all old and damaged. The whole place smell like mold, the fan was blowing cold air and dust instead of heat. It was such a disappointment that we were scammed like that. There was no front desk proper personnel, there was one broken table and barely a chair that they put someone sitting there that don’t even say hello to the guests arriving. I have severe asthma and because of the construction and mold, I had a hard time breathing I had mask and everything but wasn’t helping. We told them we can’t stay in this place so called “ hotel”, we have to find somewhere else to stay otherwise I will end up in hospital. The guy resisted at first but he agreed to refund our money back to my friend. We ended up going to other hotels and book two more since either there was no availability for 4 nights in a row or it was super super expensive, since it was last minute. Our trip was ruined because of their scam and total fraud by posting false advertising and misrepresentation of the business. After two weeks now they charged us for the nights they refunded us again and now we have to go through a hectic process to try dispute the charges through my friend’s bank. TOTAL FRAUD…

I have stayed in many hotels in Paris and the Saint-Germain area, but this was by far the worst experience of my life. This hotel is not a 4-star property, it barely qualifies as a 2-star but with a hefty price tag of a 4 star!! The hotel is under massive construction, which was never disclosed at the time of booking. There was dust everywhere, creating a genuine health risk. We were placed on the first floor in an "inhabitable" room. The furniture was outdated and broken, and the surfaces were so thick with dust that we couldn't even use the glassware to drink water. The bathroom was dirty and dust was on all the bed sheets as well. The receptionist was rude and unwelcoming. When we complained, he actually admitted the hotel was in "dire need of renovation" and that they should have disclosed the construction. Because of the conditions, we checked out after the first night. The receptionist agreed to refund the remaining three nights of our stay. However, they have since charged me for the full 4 nights and I had to go through my bank to finally get the refund. Do not be fooled by the "4-star" rating or the premium price tag. This management is dishonest, the property is a construction site. Avoid at all costs.

The hotel is nowhere to what the website portrays it to be. The entrance is dark, old furniture and smells very muggy. We requested a room on the 4th floor but they offered us a room on the 1st floor. When inspecting the room, we found that the A/C condensate pipe is hung over the window with the window open and noise level from the street coming through. Overall this is a 2 star hotel.
J L★★★★☆
The location is fantastic and you can store your luggage with reception. Some rooms have been renovated - I believe ours was not, as it was very dated, though it was still clean and comfortable, and spacious. There is complementary water in the rooms, and an espresso machine. The entire hotel is very low-light, so if that is an issue for you, it will be a problem. The bathroom needed updating.

Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Claude Bernard Saint Germain in Paris! From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff made us feel incredibly welcome. They thoughtfully gave us a room facing the street, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip—being able to soak in the everyday charm of Paris right from our window truly elevated the whole experience. The location couldn’t be better. It’s within easy walking distance of Notre Dame, the Seine river walk, the Panthéon, and Jardin du Luxembourg. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby, and having bike rentals right in front of the hotel made exploring even more convenient. Public transportation is also easily accessible, making it simple to get around the city. If you’re looking for a cozy, well-located hotel with warm hospitality, this is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend!

The location is definitely the highlight—it’s in a great spot and made getting around Paris super easy. We were close to the metro and within walking distance of places like Notre-Dame, the Panthéon, and Sainte-Chapelle, which was amazing for sightseeing. The staff were also really helpful and made the stay feel smooth and welcoming. The only downside was the cleanliness wasn’t quite what we hoped for. The headboard had some sticky paint on it, which wasn’t ideal and made things feel a little less polished. That said, if you’re planning to be out exploring most of the time and just need a solid place to sleep in a great location, it’s a really good option.

Our two-week European holiday ended in Paris, where we stayed at Hotel Claude Bernard. Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing part of our trip. The hotel is clearly very outdated and was undergoing construction during our stay—something that was never disclosed at the time of booking. Floors were being redone, elevators were not functioning properly, and the overall condition of the property showed significant wear, including cracked paint and visible deterioration. Cleanliness was also a concern. The rooms felt dusty, and there was noticeable dirt on the walls, which made the stay feel uncomfortable. The one bright spot was Omar, who was exceptional. He went out of his way to be helpful and did everything he could to improve our experience. His service truly stood out. That said, unless the hotel undergoes significant renovations, repainting, and a thorough deep cleaning, I would not recommend staying here.

Overall a mediocre hotel and not worth the price they charge for it. • Good location near Notre-Dame, in a pleasant area on a medium-sized street. • Public transport stops are about a 10-minute walk away. • The room had a kettle and a coffee machine, and the minibar was empty but cooled very well. • Free water and coffee available near the reception. • Luggage is stored in an unlocked room with no supervision. • An extremely tiny elevator - it fits one slim person and two suitcases. • The room is old and hasn't been renovated in a long time. The bathroom door wouldn't close properly because of a thick layer of paint. • The bed is very small — only 80 cm wide (I measured it). • Housekeeping only consisted of taking out the trash and making the bed - nothing more. • The breakfast area is located in the basement.

I wish I could give more stars!!!! This hotel completely blew us away. The location is amazing and central, the rooms are clean and spacious, but most of all, the staff are professional and extremely helpful. I left my handbag in the room by mistake and didn’t realise until I was on my flight to another city. We contacted the hotel and within a couple of hours, they promptly shipped my bag to our new location. Their customer service was impeccable and they remained very kind and understanding despite my annoying mistake. We will always stay at Hotel Claude Bernard when we come back to Paris!

Great place. First of all, it's very clean, cozy, has good air conditioning, and is quiet inside with no noise from the street. Second, the water pressure and quality are excellent. The hotel staff is also very nice and polite! 💖 The location is perfect: you can easily reach the most popular landmarks either on foot or by metro which is just a 3-minute walk away. It was super easy to visit Notre-Dame and Sainte-Chapelle in the morning, or take a walk to the Eiffel Tower through the streets and return along the Seine.

Loved it. Booked a room with balcony to celebrate our wedding anniversary & ordered a bottle of champagne. That was on the bed with rose petals when we arrived & was lovely.all staff were really nice. Had breakfast in the room on our balcony the next morning and was copious. Location great also

Beautiful rustic historical hotel. Still kept its character and charming past. I would recommend this to family and friends. If you can, get the 5th floor room with the tiny balcony, but usable. Decorative, make you fell like your really in France. Wifi was fast, felt like 5g. Yes, all the front desk staffs speak English, better than most American! They were soo nice and friendly; real friendly not the fake friendly you get at the airlines counter. Location is perfect, close to the RBR, metro, river boat taxi, walking distance to all the attractions and night life. My 1st time in Paris, Love it ! I was here in March, the slow season, not too many tourists, weather sunny all week. I was lucky people said. Bonjour !

Excellent location for exploring Paris! Many destinations were within walking distance. Room was quaint -- loved the little balcony -- too bad it was too hot to sit outside. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would be remiss to not mention the fantastic chocolate croissants at breakfast!

A Wonderful First Stay in Paris — Highly Recommend Hôtel Britannique! We recently stayed at Hôtel Britannique during our first-ever trip to Paris, and it made the experience truly special. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, and the location couldn't have been better — just minutes on foot from major tourist attractions and the metro, making it incredibly easy to explore the city. What really set this hotel apart, though, was the staff. Nicole, Sultana, Adelina, and Léon were all wonderful — warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. A special thank you to Sultana, who went above and beyond when my wife wasn't feeling well and arranged a late check-out for us without hesitation. That kind of thoughtfulness made a real difference during a stressful moment and turned it into a non-issue. Between the prime location, comfortable rooms, and exceptional service, this was the perfect base for our first Paris adventure. We're already looking forward to staying at Hôtel Britannique again on our next visit!

The Albe Hotel is in the lively Latin Quarter of Paris and has a large variety of good restaurants to cater for every type of taste and budget. It is perfectly located next to St Michel Metro station and numerous bus stops which can take you to all main visitor attractions. Notre Dame and La Louvre are on its doorstep and are within easy walking distance. The hotel room was spotlessly clean and had life saving AC during the recent record breaking high temperatures. There is a small elevator to assist get to upper levels. Breakfast is predominantly continental style (cereal, bread, pastries, cheeses, cold meat, yoghurt) with an option also for scrambled egg and bacon. All delicious. All staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back. No hesitation recommending this hotel as a perfect base for a visit to Paris. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We loved our stay at Albe Hotel. The service was great and the room was amazing. We didn't realise that we would be on the 5th floor and have a view of the Sein River, the streets below and a balcony to walk out on! It was amazing having the atmosphere of the Latin Quarter and so many dining options just downstairs.

This hotel is in an excellent location for visiting the sites of Paris City Centre such as Notre Dame Cathedral, Louvre, St Chappelle or a boat cruise on the Seine. Although the hotel is located in a very busy district, it is very quiet in the rooms. The rooms are very clean. The hotel is also within a two minute walk to the metro, which will take you back-and-forth from the airport for less than €15 per trip. The hotel serves breakfast, but we never ate there. There is a Baguette right beside it, which has excellent choices and coffee.

We stayed at the Albe Hotel for 4 nights from Wednesday 3 to Sunday 7 June 2026. The hotel is quite compact, as are the rooms, but they are well equipped with everything you should need; very comfortable beds and lovely plump pillows, a desk and chair, a small wardrobe with about 6 hangers, cupboard space, a minibar, a safe, tea and coffee and ensuite bathrooms with a bath/shower, hairdryer, sink, toilet and toiletries including shower cap, soap, shower gel, shampoo, shoe shiners and towels. The location is fantastic, right by Notre-Dame and within easy walking distance of the Louvres, with easy access to the RER (railway) and Metro, with plenty to see and do nearby including plenty of shops including a mini market and restaurants. The Paris Baguette, right next door, does lovely pastries too! The Eiffel Tower was about 45-60 minutes walk along the River Seine (or you can use the RER). We took the RER to the Palace of Versailles, which took about 40 minutes.

The hotel is in an excellent location — very close to the metro, surrounded by many restaurants, and convenient for getting around the city. It is also within walking distance of Notre-Dame and the area felt safe. The room could be a little noisy at times because of the nearby restaurants outside, but it was still quiet enough to sleep comfortably. What impressed me the most was the hotel’s service. On the first day, there was an issue with the bathtub, and the staff handled it very professionally by moving us to an even better room. All of the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the stay.

Booked this very last minute for a short stay and we will absolutely stay here again. Excellent hotel, right off RER B for easy CDG access. For anyone with mobility concerns- there is no elevator and steep stairs! They will carry your luggage. We stayed in the top floor suite that sleeps 5. Great for a family, wouldn’t do it with a group of adults. Had only 3 for this stay and it worked out well. The staff was so nice and helpful. Wish it had been a longer stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Le Presbytère in Paris. The hotel is incredibly well located in Le Marais, right in the middle of one of the city’s liveliest neighbourhoods, yet somehow the moment you step inside it feels peaceful and serene. It’s a small hotel, but it feels very luxurious. The rooms are unique, beautifully designed, spotless, and both cozy and plush at the same time. The staff were all very friendly, especially Jérémy, who went above and beyond to be kind to my 8 year old daughter, who had decided she wanted to become his friend 🙂 We had breakfast one morning and were really impressed by how generous it was, especially considering children eat free. The only downside, if I had to mention one, is that there’s no elevator. But this is communicated very clearly by the hotel in advance, so it wasn’t a surprise at all, and they were happy to help with luggage. Still, after a long Paris day, the walk up to our third floor room could feel like a bit of a climb. Overall, I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a safe, clean, charming and extremely well located place to stay in Paris.

This a quaint boutique hotel right in the middle of everything! Perfect central location for visiting all the sites of Paris. Walk to Notre Dame, but very close to Chalet Metro that connects to everything. Lots of shops and cafes to choose from as well. The area has a lively night life yet is perfectly safe. Beds were super comfy with nice linens, and probably the nicest bathrooms/showers you can get in the city at this price point! We stayed in the room with the buttresses through it which was very unique. I would not recommend this room if you are up frequently in the middle of the night. I forgot they were there and hit my head the first night. But I still recommend it for the experience! The real jewel is the 24hr staff who welcomes you by name! Both employees we interacted with were very happy and helpful. I won't hesitate to recommend this hotel to all my clients. FYI - the pink flowers in the pictures were not there during my stay in June. They said they are taken down during the summer?? This was my only disappointment of the stay!

Some places are simply hotels. Le Presbytère is an experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. This beautiful boutique hotel, located right in the heart of Paris, combines a perfect location with warmth, elegance, and an atmosphere that is truly unique. Every room has its own personality and charm—you can feel the history of the building while enjoying every modern comfort. From here, you can reach so many of Paris' most beautiful sights within minutes. And for those arriving by car, there is even a secure public underground parking garage just a short walk away. What truly makes this hotel exceptional, however, is its incredible team. Jeremy and his colleagues go far beyond what you would normally expect from hotel staff. Their kindness, genuine hospitality, and thoughtful recommendations for exploring Paris made our stay unforgettable. They don't just welcome guests—they make you feel at home. Thank you, Jeremy, and thank you to the entire team, for an absolutely wonderful stay. We will most certainly return to Le Presbytère whenever we come back to Paris. God bless you all. S&S

This hotel is amazing. The location is perfect, right on the doorsteps of bars and restaurants, as well as being close to the RER B stop. The room was very clean and has all the conveniences you need. There is a chargeable mini bar that is reasonably priced compared to most hotels. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, and always there to greet you with a smile (merci!). If I came back to Paris I wouldn't stay anywhere else. 5 stars.

Tips for a Smooth Family Stay Near Sainte-Chapelle

Booking the right hotel is only half the battle; knowing how to navigate the neighborhood is what turns a good trip into a great one. The Île de la Cité has its own rhythm and micro-logistics that differ from the rest of Paris. By preparing for the specific quirks of this historic island, you can avoid common tourist pitfalls and ensure your family spends less time stressing and more time enjoying the magic of the city.

Book Tickets in Advance: Sainte-Chapelle and the nearby Conciergerie often have long security lines that can be brutal for impatient children. Purchase timed-entry tickets online before your trip. This allows you to walk past the queue and head straight inside, maximizing the time your kids spend marveling at the windows rather than complaining in the sun.

Utilize the River for Travel: While the Metro is efficient, the Batobus (river shuttle) is often more enjoyable for families. The stop is right at the Pont Neuf, a two-minute walk from your hotel. It offers a scenic, stroller-friendly way to reach the Eiffel Tower or the Jardin des Plantes without the hassle of underground staircases.

Seek Out the Flower Market: On the north side of the island, you will find the Marché aux Fleurs Reine Elizabeth II. Visiting this colorful flower and bird market is a fantastic, low-energy activity for a morning stroll. It provides a sensory break from museums and is a great spot for kids to see local Parisian life.

Cross the Bridge for Dinner: While there are restaurants on the island, many cater heavily to tourists with high prices and average food. For better value and authentic atmosphere, walk across the Petit Pont to the Latin Quarter (5th arrondissement). Here, you will find countless family-friendly bistros serving generous portions of pasta, steak frites, and crepes.

Plan for Limited Grocery Options: Unlike residential neighborhoods, the Île de la Cité has very few large supermarkets. If you need bottled water, diapers, or late-night snacks, do not wait until you are back at the hotel. Stop by a pharmacy or a "Carrefour City" or "Monoprix" near the Saint-Michel fountain before crossing back over the bridge to your room.

Choosing a base near Sainte-Chapelle offers a rare opportunity to experience the tranquility of medieval Paris after the museums close. It is a walkable, safe, and visually stunning environment that will capture the imagination of both parents and children alike.

With the right preparation and a hotel that understands your needs, your family can enjoy a seamless Parisian adventure. Whether you are watching the sunset from the Pont Neuf or waking up to the sound of the city stirring, this location provides a memory your family will treasure for a lifetime.
