San Antonio is often described as the quieter, more bohemian sibling to San Antonio Bay, but that label only tells part of the story. This small town on the western coast of Ibiza has a distinct rhythm, one shaped by golden-hour light, a working harbour and some of the most spectacular sunsets in the Mediterranean.
Travellers arriving here quickly discover that San Antonio rewards slow exploration. Away from the famous sunset strips, you will find hidden coves, whitewashed churches and a surprisingly rich cultural heritage that predates the island’s modern tourism boom.
The town is compact enough to explore on foot, yet varied enough to fill several days of sightseeing. From underground cave systems to panoramic coastal walkways, the attractions around San Antonio cater to families, couples, solo travellers and anyone curious about the authentic side of Ibiza.
Because San Antonio is a major hub for boat excursions, many visitors use it as a base for reaching secluded beaches and neighbouring islands. However, staying local often reveals experiences that day-trippers miss entirely.
Understanding the geography helps you plan better. The town faces a wide, sheltered bay, while the surrounding headlands offer elevated viewpoints and rocky inlets. Public transport, taxis and rental scooters make it easy to reach attractions slightly outside the centre.
Whether you are visiting for a weekend or a full week, a well-planned itinerary will help you balance relaxation, culture and outdoor adventure. The following guide highlights the most rewarding places to visit, all within easy reach of San Antonio.

Super nice place, great experience!
This is in a unique location, and it is not a usual restaurant. It’s an all you can eat sardine and salad place, right above the sea, with an also unusual aquiarium in a cave.
For children, they have pizzas.
They also have other bits and pieces to eat, and local deserts.
You need to book in advance!
The staff were super nice and welcoming

What a special experience at Aquarium Cap Blanc. This is definitely not your standard aquarium. It’s located inside a natural sea cave, so instead of artificial tanks, you’re literally looking at a piece of the Mediterranean Sea that forms part of the cave itself.
It’s a place with a story and a soul. You can immediately feel that everything here is done with love and respect for the animals.
What truly made it special for me was meeting the owner’s partner. You can tell how passionate she is about the animals and their wellbeing, and she really takes you into their world. She doesn’t just share information, but also personal stories about her experiences with the animals — which makes it all feel so much more real and impactful.
Because it’s small-scale and pure, it really touches you. You’re not just walking past tanks here; you’re genuinely getting a glimpse into their world.
Highly recommended if you’re in Ibiza and want to experience something different from the usual highlights. Authentic, educational, and run with a warm heart.

After many years I came back to Ibiza and the first thing I did was reserve a table here because I had so many good memories. The place is awesome, the service amazing, and the food even better. I highly recommend it, remember to make a reservation because it gets packed super fast. Ivan served us like we were part of his family. Dont miss it !

Interesting aquarium with a lovely outdoor bar! Aquarium inside a cave only small but cheap to enter, the bar has great views and lots of character.

A cute rustic little place built around the sea rocks. Didn’t know what to expect from this but we spend about 30-45 mins strolling through and back with two young kids.
It was pretty with some baby sharks and some variety of lobsters.
Definitely more for the kids but still could appreciate as adults too. We
Actually parked up a hill on the main road and trekked through the coastline which was a make shift trail, that in itself was a nice part to get there but maybe advised to have reliable footwear.
Fairly simplistic spot and a nice stop off in between going to another beach location.
We didn’t end up eating or getting anything from the place here to eat.

Long beach with a promenade along it. Lots of healthy walking very relaxing time and a perfect place to sit relax with the option that everything you might need is nearby, pubs, restaurants, clubs. For us the direction was Cafe de Mar and Cafe Mambo because that's where you should end the day! Beautiful colors of the port and bay after sunset.

visited in may and it is very convenient if you stay at hotel ses savines. the beach was clean, sandy and peaceful

Long sand beach. Very clean , clear water, great for sunsets! Great location as well but very quiet in September and not much vibes as the other Ibiza’s coast. It’s worth to take the bus and explore the Island. Go to the Cala Comte or Cala Tarida. 🌴☀️
Bogna Andrzejewska★★★★☆
Public beach in the city centre, clean and not overcrowded (in the middle of October). City of course great for partying people, nice restaurants, bars, and a port that offers many interesting cruises
Travel Buddy★★★★★
Playa de San Antonio is a long beach that offers a variety of activities. For example, you can enjoy parasailing, flying fish, banana boat or speed boat rides, beach cruises, party boats, sunset cruises, glass bottom boats, sailboat tours and more. The prices vary between 25€ and 75€, if you want to buy paintings they are between 15€ and 25€ (20€ for parasailing). There was a beach volleyball tournament I could have attended.
The turquoise water and beautiful sunsets are enchanting. Perfect for spending a few hours at the beach and just working on your tan. The sea has a pleasant temperature and is the right solution to cool off on hot days.
There are a handful of ways to buy everything you need for a great beach vacation 😉
Perfect to refresh yourself and let your soul dangle

Manué Salao★☆☆☆☆
The incredible setting of this lighthouse is a stark example of the urban monstrosity that has transformed what was once a fishing village. I've never seen another lighthouse so hemmed in by concrete blocks in my entire life. It's no wonder people only come to Sant Antoni to watch the sunset, because there's nothing else to see. I don't understand how the Balearic or island government didn't stop the construction of the surrounding towers when they first started. I think any lighthouse keeper who saw this would burst into tears.
P Suárez★★★☆☆
What is a lighthouse if not something that shines in the darkest night, in the most powerful storm? We need the lighthouse's light to illuminate our lives because we are quite lost. There's a very interesting radio program also called The Lighthouse. I highly recommend visiting this site and listening to the program. I hope you too can find that light, that guidance we all so desperately need.

Beautiful lighthouse, which has been swallowed up by the city by surrounding it with houses, houses a museum that I could not visit, when I went it was closed.

A beautiful beach equipped with loungers and umbrellas (for a fee), but lacking restrooms, changing rooms, showers, or foot baths. In June, the cost was €21 for an umbrella and two loungers, both for a full day and a half-day. The sea and sand are clean, and there are exercise machines installed by the municipality. Beach fees are never included in the hotel rate; you must pay separately in cash. There are no children's playgrounds.

Peaceful Cala with pristine water. Great for snorkeling and soaking up the sun while laying on the soft flat rocks. You can take a hike with your dogs there through the pine woods or along a dirt road. There is a small beach if you are looking for sand but actually the rocks are the place to go to.

Amazing nature!
It was always on my Ibiza list to go there and finally did!
Walking down the load and reaching to the small path, you will start to see a beautiful cliff and ocean. Climbing and walking to the right hand side, there will be an amazing wide space where you can chill to see the best sunset will appear.
FYI: No parking space but only to park on the road.

Perfect place to disconnected from the crazy chaotic part of Ibiza, free and open. Crystal clear water, may seem cold but as soon as you plunge in your body accommodates and is 100% worth it. Not that far of a walk, but better to get there by car. Definitely recommend 🙂

Such a great deal! Unlimited drinks and pizza for two hours, plus you can play as many games as you like. We had an amazing time and definitely made the most of it 😅 The guy who served us was lovely—10/10 would recommend. Whether you’re heading here before an event for a few drinks or just looking for a fun time, it’s well worth it. Would definitely come back again for the golf! £35 English pounds !

We had a great time here! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. A big plus is that you can play darts and billiards for free as long as you order a drink, which creates a really relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
The mini golf course was also a lot of fun and made for a fantastic experience overall. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun evening with friends or family.

First of all it's great hiking trail through the wood, up and down the hill until You get there. We walked with two kids ( 8 years old) and they said that this kind of hiking they really loved. And at the end You can get this breathtaking view and feel the power of the nature around You.
If You like a little bit challanging hiking than this is a place for You. And of course Ibiza sea view as always was perfect.

Practical Tips for Visiting San Antonio
A little planning goes a long way in San Antonio, especially if you want to experience both its natural beauty and its lively evening atmosphere. The town operates on a late schedule, but mornings remain peaceful and are ideal for sightseeing before the heat builds. Use these practical recommendations to make the most of your time without unnecessary stress.
Wear sturdy footwear for coastal paths and rocky viewpoints, as many of the best lookout spots involve uneven terrain. Book boat trips a day in advance during July and August, when popular departures sell out quickly. Carry cash for smaller beach bars and local markets, even though most restaurants and shops accept cards. If you plan to watch the sunset from a popular bar or café, arrive at least 45 minutes early to secure a good seat. Use the local bus network for short trips to nearby beaches, as parking spaces fill fast in peak season. Finally, respect local noise and waste rules when visiting natural areas, since many coves and caves are protected environments.
San Antonio’s appeal lies in its contrast: lively promenades on one side, serene coastal trails on the other. By choosing attractions that match your energy level and travel style, you can experience a side of Ibiza that feels both welcoming and deeply authentic. A flexible itinerary, comfortable shoes and an early start are often all you need to uncover the town’s most memorable corners.
