Sitting just a short ferry ride or drive from the historic center of Ibiza Town, a completely different side of the island awaits. While the capital is famous for its fortified old town, Dalt Vila, and its high-end marina, the surrounding coastline offers a surprisingly diverse collection of sandy coves and pine-backed shores. You do not need to travel far to swap the buzz of the port for the soothing sound of the Mediterranean.
The geography of the southern and eastern coasts means that the water here tends to be calm, crystal clear, and inviting. Because the island is compact, many of the best beaches near Ibiza Town can be reached in under twenty minutes by car, scooter, or public bus. This makes them perfect for a quick morning dip or a full afternoon of sunbathing without committing to a long road trip.
Choosing the right beach depends entirely on the vibe you are chasing. Some of these shores are bustling with beach clubs and water sports, while others remain quiet, natural escapes where the only soundtrack is the rustling of the pine trees. Whether you are traveling with family, looking for a romantic sunset spot, or simply want to snorkel in turquoise water, there is a stretch of sand nearby to match your mood.
Accessibility is one of the biggest advantages of staying in the capital. You can easily combine a morning of sightseeing in the cobbled streets of the old town with an afternoon cooling off in the sea. The public transport network is reliable, but renting a vehicle will give you the freedom to hop between a few different coves in a single day.
Below, we have curated a list of the most impressive and accessible beaches in the immediate vicinity of Ibiza Town. We have focused on practical details, such as water quality, facilities, and the overall atmosphere, to help you plan your perfect coastal itinerary. From wide, sandy stretches to intimate rocky inlets, these are the spots that locals and savvy travelers return to year after year.

Beautiful place for an evening walk by the ocean. I wouldn’t recommend swimming here, though. The beach isn’t bad, but Ibiza has many cleaner and more beautiful beaches to explore
Scott Brown★★★★★
Lovely beach bar, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. All the staff are friendly and, even on the rainy day we had, made us feel warm.
Ingrid Hooglander★★★★★
This beach is absolutely beautiful! The water is crystal clear, and the sand is unbelievably soft. We had a wonderful time and couldn't have asked for a better beach day.
One tip for future visitors: if you're planning to relax near Bless Hotel Ibiza, keep in mind that it's closer to the airport. That means you'll notice more low-flying planes overhead. If airplane noise is something that bothers you, head farther up the beach, away from the hotel and farther from town, where it's much quieter.
For us, it wasn't an issue at all. The beach was gorgeous, and we'd happily come back!
Mika Lee★★★★★
Very long beach, pretty and peaceful, the sand is soft and barely have hard rocks
Constantin Gorea★★★★☆
The beach is ok, quite big and spacious (in April 🙃).
The sand is yellow mixed with brown. In April it is not crowded, and at the same time it is not really clean. Although an aggregate passes through in the morning, it does not collect the plant debris that was brought by the water during autumn-winter.
The water is blue, clear and clean. I don't know what the water temperature would be, but at midday, although a little cold, you can bathe. There are not many waste bins on the beach or they are rarely placed.
There are no ice cream or drink stalls either, unless you go to the restaurants of the seaside hotels.

Crazy crowded and beautiful with options for those that wanna go topless and those that don’t. There’s a restaurant here and places to buy souvenirs. You can rent chairs as well. The water is perfect and you can see the sunset from here. parking is a short walk away from here.

For me, it's a fantastic place to spend at least part of the day in these idyllic landscapes. The beach is fantastic and although there can be big waves, with less wind it's truly heavenly. The colors of the water and sky turn this place into a European paradise spot.

Every time coming to Cala Comte is amazing. Sea colours are unique, water very clear, sand thin everything just perfect for a perfect beach day.
Pink sand also seen and fishes swimming next to people. Lovely.
Is a must to see when in Ibiza island.

Playa de Es Figueral in Ibiza is simply stunning. The sea water is incredibly clean and displays beautiful shades of blue that change with the sunlight. The beachfront promenade was spotless and well-equipped with trash bins. There are great hotels, bars, and restaurants right in front. Highly recommended!

This beach has suntanners, swimmers, restaurants, and a beautiful promenade! It was clean with many garbage cans around too. There is a beach groomer out in the early morning and also a zamboni cleaning the tiles. In the evening, local kids come out to play soccer. So darn cute.
Alex Segalés★★★★☆
Cozy urban beach in Ibiza town. It's not a uniform beach, but more a concatenation of small sand areas alternated with rocky ones. It takes the name from the neighborhood of Ses Figueretes a mainly vacational area developed during XXth century where in previous times we could find fields of small fig trees. It is the right option for an all inclusive beach day, as it is full of cafes and restaurants.
Lucca T.★★★★☆
I will say this from my point of view, a nice place for a morning run along the promenade where it is still empty, the heart of the capital is a 30-minute walk away, many cafes and restaurants along the promenade where you can feel the atmosphere with a good coffee or something else. For complete relaxation on the beach we look for other places, but this also has its advantages.
adriana adria★★★★★
So beautiful in winter so silent and nice to go for Long Beach walks!!! In summer of course busy but also nice if you stay there in this area! Of course one of the famous and touristic beaches in Ibiza for summer -but always nice to have a coffee there and go for a long walk!

Cala Bassa is a beautiful beach with soft sand and incredibly clear turquoise water, probably one of the best we visited in Ibiza. Great for swimming and a relaxed day out, with good facilities and places for food and drinks.
The only negative was the number of sellers constantly walking around offering drinks and umbrellas, which can be a bit distracting. Overall, definitely worth visiting.

My favourite beach in Ibiza. Long and wide sandy beach, turquoise water, many restaurants along the beach to enjoy the good food and the amazing view. It might take a while to find taxi on the way back, they show up randomly and the taxi app or the phone doesnt respond. There is also a public bus, just plan accordingly and leave enough waiting time not to get stressed. Amazing place to chill and slow down.. Highly recommended.

We were also told about this beach which is pretty popular. And I have to say pretty cool beach in this island I mean there was people everywhere, swimming, playing sports, jet skis, boats. Kites, water bikes, bicycles, motorbikes, smokers, non-smokers. This place had it all. I really do. Enjoy this beach on this island as it has it. Ah, that you could need food. Drinks good people. Nice vibes, beautiful water, incredible weather. What else can I say about CALA BASSA BEACH it is world famous for a reason. We really did enjoy the time we spent here. We will definitely be back. And we will see you there. Go here now.

Top 3 beaches in Ibiza. The surroundings are really nice and fancy, with a lot of space for your towel. The water is crystal clear. No ondulation and zero debries, perfect for snorkeling, although there is not much to see besides fish. The CBbC (Cala Bassa Beach Club) is right next to the beach, with a really cool bar and restaurant, although quite expensive. There is a lot of parking space and we didnt haver to pay. The only downside is that there are a lot of vendors. Enjoy!! ☺️

The beach is at the foot of two hills, both have hotels, restaurants and small shops, the entrance to the sea is very good, the water is clean, but like all the beaches on Ibiza so far, it is very crowded.
Tone★★★★★
Very nice and wide sandy beach, with a perfect view of the moutains. The water is clear, depending on the tides. Sometimes there are quite a few algae and other vegetation floating. Because it is a bay, the tides often bring some debries as well. The surroundings are quite peacefull with a lot of nice restaurants and a convenient food store (although quite pricy). Overall i quite enjoyed the experience, definetly one of the best beaches in Ibiza to spend the day.
Joanna Blazejewska★★★★☆
Cala Llonga is a beautiful, sandy beach with plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants nearby, and easy free parking just a short walk away. The water is clear, calm, and seaweed-free with a gentle entry, which makes it especially safe and enjoyable for families with kids. The beach is spacious, so even when it’s busy there’s still room to spread out and relax. A perfect spot for a fun and stress-free beach day.
Rob Dewey★★★★★
A truly beautiful place to visit. A more quiet and relaxed part of thr island, beautiful blue seas, lots of restaurants and bars, clean beaches. Buses run frequently and take you to the more lively places on the island. Perfect location if you want the calm after a good night out.
CDC★★★★★
We visited Cala Llonga on a Friday in July at around 1pm and were pleasantly surprised to find plenty of sunbeds still available to rent. They were €10 per sunbed and €10 for an umbrella.
The beach itself is lovely: sandy, clean and a great spot to spend the day. There are also plenty of supermarkets, bars and restaurants nearby, so you have everything you need within easy walking distance.
For lunch, we’d definitely recommend SOS Restaurant nearby for delicious fresh fish and homemade aioli!
Overall, a lovely, easy beach day in Ibiza with everything you need close by.

This was my first time visiting Ibiza, and I absolutely loved it. I visited Cala Saladeta, and it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
The water was crystal clear, clean, warm, and incredibly beautiful. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, making it feel like a true paradise. The natural scenery was stunning, and I spent hours enjoying the beach and the sea.
I also met many friendly people during my visit, which made the experience even more special. Everyone was very welcoming, and I had a wonderful time.
This is a place I will never forget, and I will definitely come back in the future. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ibiza and looking for a paradise beach experience.

Amazing nice beach! Access not the easiest, but totally worth it. Took the taxi there and boat back!
alyssa lei★★★★★
Beautiful beach with clear blue water. Parking is available and near the beach area. There are 2 sides of this beach. One has quite many stones but the other side is more beautiful with fine sand and the water there is also much better. I suggest to go there but it requires some hike (a little adventure!). You still get to see the beach on the way. The views are beautiful.
[Take note] We went around the first week of April and there were jellyfishes so be careful if you’re coming in this time. Overall a nice beach.
Marit van Wijngaarden★★★★★
It can get a bit crowded, especially towards the end of the day when the sun begins to set and everyone gathers on the small part of the bay where the sunlight hits. Still, what a peaceful and beautiful spot. We had to do a bit of hiking to get there, even with flip-flops, but it was totally doable.
ClapStories★★★★★
Cala Saladeta is one of the most beautiful beaches in Ibiza. The turquoise water is crystal clear, the scenery is breathtaking, and it’s easy to understand why so many people consider it one of the island’s most stunning spots.
Getting to the small beach is part of the adventure. The short walk along the rocky path makes the experience even more memorable, and once you arrive, the views are absolutely spectacular.
The only downside is that the beach is very popular and can get quite crowded, especially during the summer months. Arriving early in the morning is definitely the best way to enjoy its beauty in a more peaceful atmosphere.
Despite the crowds, Cala Saladeta is absolutely worth visiting. It’s a true Ibiza paradise with incredible water, amazing landscapes, and a unique adventure just to reach it. 🌊☀️🏝️✨🥾

A lovely, big sandy beach that’s perfect for kids. The water is clear and calm, and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Free parking is available along the main road, and facilities are dotted around, making it very convenient. Overall, it’s an excellent spot for families with young children.
Sarah Beemer★★★★★
Beautiful beach even in the winter, and the rain. There’s a lot of construction going on at the hotels along the cliff side, but I’m sure they’ll look amazing when done this summer. There are a few decently priced restaurants around, and there’s a trail that leads to the beach across the cove. If you go up the road to the right, past the entrances to the cliff side hotels, you can get a great view of the coast line!

warm water and dirty. lots of weed and an orange tint in the water. there are better beaches im sure.

Nice, quiet beach with clear water, perfect for snorkeling or paddleboarding. Not many parking spots, though. Cold drinks are available and are also affordable compared to other locations in Ibiza.
Lucca T.★★★★★
Another beach on our map and it may not be the best of the best or I will say that there are countless beaches here and there is no great sand under your feet, the whole surroundings somehow create a pleasant atmosphere. You can take a walk along the rocks and snap a few nice photos or just sunbathe somewhere in a quiet place. The car park is medium-sized and during the season it can be tight.
Joanna Blazejewska★★★☆☆
Cala Xarraca is a little beach with a steep drive down and a small free car park that fills up quickly, so it’s best to arrive early. There’s a nice bar and restaurant right on the beach, which makes it convenient for food and drinks.
The beach itself is made up of pebbles and rocks. The water is clear, though there are quite a lot of seaweeds at the entrance. Space on the beach is limited, but there’s also a lovely natural pool with crystal-clear water, perfect for kids. In the afternoon, parts of the beach get some welcome shade, which is a nice bonus.
k1sol.★★★★★
One of Ibiza's most beautiful and unspoilt coves with calm, crystal clear waters perfect for snorkelling and swimming. Surrounded by pine trees and rugged cliffs, the scenery is simply breathtaking. A true paradise for nature lovers seeking tranquility away from the crowds!
Sam Margera★★★★★
Picture yourself diving into a cove so pristine it feels like Ibiza’s best-kept secret? Cala Xarraca stole my heart with its turquoise waters and wild, rocky cliffs perfect for anyone craving a break from the island’s party scene. Snorkeling here is like exploring an underwater jewel box, with fish darting through crystal-clear depths. I was blown away to discover a hidden rope swing at Sa Punta Negra, just a 10-minute stroll away, where you can dangle over the Mediterranean for that perfect photo moment. Pro tip: head to the cove’s left side for natural mud baths that locals claim work skincare miracles, but avoid peak summer when the mud’s too dry. Get here early to nab parking—it’s tight—and pack water shoes for the rocky shore. The beachside restaurant serves killer fresh fish and paella, so save room for lunch. For max chill, visit in the late afternoon when the crowds fade and the sunset lights up the sky.

Llorenç Vallverdú★★★☆☆
The experience was not bad, but it didn't quite live up to the hype. There was a lot of dancing in the sun and not much else to do. It was also extremely crowded, which took away from the enjoyment. As for the sunset, it was okay, but nothing particularly special or memorable.

Very nice beach and sunset here. Plenty of parking available nearby. Nice bars restaurants and friendly hippies playing drums and smoking that bob Marley
I recommend you pay this place a visit if you are local.

To get nice views from above, go the left side of the beach and climb up the stairs behind the boat shacks and continue along the path that ends at a Finca.
Careful, risk of Falling, but not very exhausting
Dora Virag★★★★★
A brilliant beach: crystal clear water, great views, and genuinely spacious. There are plenty of amenities: multiple restaurants, a small market, and a rental place for pedal boats and SUPs. We rented a pedal boat and had a great time jumping off it into the water.
We ended up coming twice in two days, both times after other beaches fell through (parking issues or jellyfish). Parking here was easy both visits. Despite the size, it never felt crowded, even in the water. Would definitely come back.
Joanna Blazejewska★★★★☆
Benirràs is a surprisingly spacious sandy beach with clear water and some lovely walking paths nearby. There’s plenty of free parking, and the Benirràs Beach Market right next to the beach is a great bonus. Several bars and restaurants by the entrance make it easy to grab food or drinks, and the overall vibe is really nice.
I was hoping to experience the famous drum circles at sunset, but they weren’t happening when I visited. Instead, we climbed the rocks and cliffs to watch the sunset from above—an incredible experience, though a bit scary in parts of the climb and walk. The views, however, were absolutely stunning and worth it.

A very convenient beach for disembarking from your cruise and suitable for children, with fine sand and a gently sloping seabed.

Main beach of Santa Eularia's des Riu. Cozy atmosphere based on quite fine sand, easy access thanks to wooden platforms and a cute shape. It's specially charming to seat in silence and observe the sailboats from the nearby nautical school while you feel the mediterranean breeze.

Tips for Visiting Beaches Near Ibiza Town
To make the most of your time on the coast, it helps to be prepared for the unique rhythm of island life. The beaches closest to the capital can vary wildly in atmosphere depending on the time of day and the season, so a little forward planning goes a long way.
Arrive early or go late. The most popular beaches near Ibiza Town fill up quickly during the peak summer months. If you want a good spot and easy parking, aim to arrive before 10:00 AM, or alternatively, head to the beach after 4:00 PM when the intense heat subsides and the crowds begin to thin out.
Check the wind direction. While the Mediterranean is generally calm, the island can experience breezes from different directions. If the wind is blowing from the east, beaches on the west side of the bay will be smoother. A quick check of a weather app can save you from a choppy, uncomfortable swim.
Wear water shoes. Many of the coves near the capital have rocky entries or pebbles mixed in with the sand. A pair of lightweight water shoes will make it much easier to explore the shoreline and protect your feet from warm rocks and sea urchins.
Book beach beds in advance. If you plan to visit a beach with a well-known beach club or restaurant, do not assume you can just walk up for a sunbed in August. Most high-end venues require reservations for their loungers and dining areas, sometimes weeks ahead.
Use the public bus for hassle-free access. Parking near the smaller coves can be notoriously difficult and expensive. The local bus network from Ibiza Town’s main station is efficient and drops you within walking distance of several major beaches, allowing you to relax without worrying about a rental car.
The coastline surrounding Ibiza Town offers an incredible variety of experiences without requiring long, tiring journeys. Whether you choose a lively stretch of sand with pumping music or a quiet, hidden cove surrounded by nature, you are never more than a short ride from the perfect swim.
Ultimately, the best approach is to mix and match. Spend one day indulging in the luxury of a beach club, and the next exploring a wild, untouched shoreline. By using the capital as your base, you unlock the easiest access to some of the most beautiful and varied beaches the island has to offer.
