12 Best Shopping Streets in Pamplona

Pamplona is a city that rewards curiosity. While most visitors arrive with images of the Running of the Bulls in their minds, the true heartbeat of the city is found in its daily rituals, its café culture, and its distinct neighborhoods. The streets of Pamplona are not just thoroughfares for traffic; they are linear living rooms where locals meet for coffee, shop for artisan goods, and stroll in the cool evening air. Understanding the city requires walking its pavements and looking into its shop windows.

The commercial landscape here is a fascinating blend of the traditional and the contemporary. You will find centuries-old family-run businesses selling handmade leather goods standing steps away from sleek boutiques showcasing cutting-edge Navarran fashion. This contrast is not jarring; it is harmonious. The city has managed to preserve its authentic character while embracing modern retail trends, making it a uniquely satisfying destination for shoppers who value quality and provenance over mass-produced goods.

For the savvy traveler, shopping in Pamplona is about more than just acquiring items; it is about engaging with the culture. The city’s layout, particularly in the Casco Viejo (Old Town), is designed for pedestrian exploration. Narrow, winding lanes open unexpectedly into grand plazas, each offering a new cluster of specialty stores. Unlike sprawling malls on the outskirts, the city center keeps commerce integrated with daily life, ensuring that every shopping trip feels like an authentic local experience.

Gastronomy plays a central role in the retail scene. While this guide focuses on streets for general shopping, you will inevitably cross paths with delicatessens, wine merchants, and pastry shops that are impossible to resist. The concept of "shopping" in Pamplona often blurs into "tasting." A street known for its fashion might also be home to a historic bakery or a bar serving the best pintxos in the region. This sensory overlap is part of the city’s charm.

Navigating the shopping districts is straightforward, but knowing where to start can save you valuable time. The city is divided into distinct zones: the historic Old Town, the elegant Ensanche (expansion district), and the residential neighborhoods of Iturrama and Mendebaldea. Each area has a different energy. The Old Town offers authenticity and souvenirs; the Ensanche provides high-street fashion and luxury; the outer districts deliver local convenience and hidden gems.

Whether you are hunting for a specific designer label, a unique piece of jewelry, or simply a comfortable pair of walking shoes for your travels, Pamplona has a street for you. The key is to know which avenue matches your retail desires. Some streets are traffic-heavy and fast-paced, while others are semi-pedestrianized and relaxed, allowing you to browse at your leisure without the pressure of a hurried crowd.

Below is a curated guide to the most vibrant and rewarding shopping streets in the city. These routes have been selected for their density of stores, architectural beauty, and overall atmosphere. They represent the best of Pamplona’s retail offerings, ensuring that whether you have an hour or an entire day, your shopping expedition will be fruitful.

Its just an ok place... it is certainly a great place for females.. right in the center... small shops... especially for kids or baby stuffs etc. I even thought that its a great place for those who turned mum and dad recently... there is also a shop for gifts, rings, pearls, strings, etc. A kebab shop and no much to see. However, a small stroll always is not a bad idea. You cannot compare it with great shopping complexes of Madrid or Barcelona. Its a small center with small shops. Certainly....parking is quiet difficult in this area. Accessibility is ok. Roads are not very good but still is a good choice for those who like to wander a bit in a cold weather....

It is not a Shipping center, not big.

Shameful treatment of regular customers Terrible management and customer service. I'm a regular customer who spends over €150 a week at the Hyker machine. Today, after walking an hour to get here, the lights in the area and on the machine went out right in the middle of my payment. Instead of offering a solution or an apology for the technical failure, the manager (Iker) called me a liar, saying that "my story doesn't add up" because his system didn't register the sale (obviously, since the power went out during the process). It's unbelievable that they treat the people who keep their business going this way. I won't spend another euro here. A complete lack of professionalism.

A ghost town of a mini shopping center. Most shops are closed. There are hardly any people around. Only a few gift shops, a nail salon, and a couple of cafes are open. It seems to be going through a rough patch. It's centrally located, and there are other, more interesting places nearby.

I’m going to write in english because a lot of visitors come from foreign countries to visit Pampelona. This shopping center is amazing: Clean, organized, you can find anything you want there. Indeed, there are a lot of stores, from gaming to clothing, adding that it’s a great place to get your groceries.

Very large shopping area and wide selection of restaurants. Tesla superchargers available. However, the food outlets next to the chargers don't open until 11am. If you've had an early start, you need to cross the road and look for Mi Abuela's for coffee and delicious pastries to set you up for the next stage of your journey!

Great place to shop for almost everything you might need.
Zaina Al Kanaani★☆☆☆☆
We had an extremely disappointing experience at the cafeteria in El Corte Inglés Pamplona. Upon arrival, we were met with rude behavior from the staff. The waitress not only shouted at us but also pointed fingers, asking us to wait to be seated, even though the area was completely empty, with no one waiting in line before us. Adding to the frustration, all notes and signage were in Spanish, which made it very difficult for us as non-Spanish speakers to navigate the system. There seemed to be no consideration for language barriers, and we were expected to understand their instructions without any attempt to assist or communicate effectively. This lack of respect and courtesy is unacceptable, and we felt mistreated and unwelcome. I cannot recommend this place to anyone seeking a pleasant experience.

Perfect location and lovely rooms. A couple of things though... Staff at the reception are not particularly friendly or welcoming and, in our case, a chambermaid, at 8:50am got into the room ready to clean it, without knocking first. Thanks God we were already dressed and ready to go...
David Izquierdo Azzouz★★★★☆
An exceptional and modern department store right in the center of Pamplona, offering a premium shopping experience across multiple floors. The variety of products is unmatched, ranging from luxury fashion and cosmetics to high-quality electronics, home goods, and an excellent basement supermarket (Hipercor) with top-tier fresh produce. The store is clean, elegant, and very well-organized. The only real downside is that the pricing across many departments leans toward the higher end compared to standard stores, and navigating the tight spaces of the underground parking garage can be quite tricky and expensive during peak hours. However, for customer service, product quality, and the convenience of finding everything under one roof in the heart of the city, it remains unbeatable. Highly recommended!

During the San Fermin festival, I bought a latex wine bottle (skins) as a souvenir. That same day at the hotel, I poured some water on it, but soon damp spots appeared on the bottle. My complaint was duly accepted and I received a new one, identical as a replacement. Upon returning to Serbia, I wanted to form the bottle again according to the written instructions I received when I bought it, as well as the verbal advice of the seller. However, the same problem again. Humidity appears in the neck of the bottle, but also at one of the joints. I decided on a simple test - I filled it with air, closed the cap, and then put soapy water on the joints. Soon I saw that bubbles appeared in two places, when I pressed the bottle, which means that it was obviously leaking air. I would sincerely like to somehow solve this problem and preserve the beautiful memories of Pamplona and San Fermin. Of course, if possible, I would return the bottle properly by mail and accept that the seller mold a new one for me, because I would really like to fill it with wine and enjoy this beautiful souvenir. If there is a possibility to solve the problem, please contact me here. Thanks in advance.

The best part about this store is actually the building, beautiful architecture. The store itself is my wife’s favourite but that’s another review.

bathrooms closed, for men and handicapped, available only for women, although without any sign whatsoever, while a pile of boxes is the first thing you see blocking your way into that space. OTOH building facade with spears for pigeons 🙁

The new Zara in "La Vasco-Navarra" building is so beautiful. It maintains its old details and has 3 floors. The only thing you notice is that everything is only in Spanish.. Maybe add Basque as on official language here or English for foreigners..

One of the biggest shopping centres in Pamplona. All the major brands are available however Primark is not available. It has a food court on the first floor and also some games for children. Movie theatre is also on the first floor on Tuesdays they have English original version movies sometimes. Ground floor is the main shopping area. It also has Hipercor one of the big super markets a bit expensive compared to others but all the stuff available.

Burgers were good with a decent selection of flavours.

Not really bad. The entertainment area has been remodelled. Even though, the bowling alley is too old. Its screens don't work and the machinery often fails. On the shopping floor there are many shops which went out of business and are now closed. The mall's security guard is quite rude and has a mean behavior.

A must visit for delicious pintxos in Pamplona is LA Mandarra de la Ramos. The venue has a cool vibe with background music and lots of Jamon and garlic wreaths hanging above the counter. The food is like art on a plate. Go EARLY 7.30pm as it fills up fast to standing room only. Staff explained the pinxtos to us in English, very helpful

AMAZING!!! The barbershop at the back on the left, run by an African guy, is really, really good. Great prices and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Eva Rios★☆☆☆☆
Well, here's the terrible experience. The tavern owner, clearly unmotivated, is incredibly slow and even lets customers cut in line. She has absolutely no manners, not only the one brazenly cutting in, but also the waitress who, knowing full well, does it anyway. I don't know who's worse. So, one less customer for her. Bravo!

SPECTACULAR!!! The barbershop in the back, run by a guy named Jose. Perfect men's haircuts at a great price, not to mention the excellent customer service. 💯💯

I loved the barbershop run by a young Black guy named José. He does amazing haircuts for a great price. It's on the far right as you enter, and the barbershop is right there on the right. I highly recommend it (I think it's a men's barbershop).

Great experience, spacious and clean, the hair salon at the back on the left is also great. I'll definitely be back.

Tips for Shopping in Pamplona

To truly shop like a local in Pamplona, it helps to understand the rhythm of the city. The shopping culture here is governed by specific times, traditions, and etiquettes that may differ from other European destinations. By adjusting your schedule and expectations slightly, you can unlock a much more rewarding and efficient experience, avoiding closed doors and crowded aisles.

Respect the Siesta and Sunday Closures
The most common mistake visitors make is assuming shops stay open all day. Most independent stores in the Old Town and Ensanche close from roughly 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM for lunch. Plan your heavy shopping for the morning (10:00 AM–1:30 PM) or the early evening (5:00 PM–8:30 PM). On Sundays, almost all retail is closed, so reserve that day for sightseeing or dining.

Look Up to Find the Best Stores
In Pamplona, real estate on the ground floor is at a premium. Many of the most interesting artisan workshops, vintage stores, and tailors are located on the first or second floors of historic buildings. Don’t be afraid to look up; if you see a sign on a balcony, ring the doorbell. These hidden ateliers often offer the most unique, high-quality goods that you won’t find anywhere else.

Balance the Old Town with the Ensanche
Do not limit yourself to the Casco Viejo. While the Old Town is perfect for souvenirs, leather goods, and traditional crafts, the Ensanche (particularly around Avenida Carlos III) is where the locals buy their everyday clothing, shoes, and electronics. For a complete picture of Pamplona’s style, you need to visit both districts.

Bring a Reusable Bag
Pamplona is an environmentally conscious city. While plastic bags are available, many shops charge for them or look favorably upon customers who bring their own. A lightweight canvas tote is practical for carrying purchases and helps you blend in with the local crowd, who rarely carry bulky branded shopping bags.

Use the Taxi Stops Strategically
If you plan to buy heavy items like wine, ceramics, or books, map out the nearest taxi stand before you start. The pedestrian zones in the Old Town can be tiring to walk out of with heavy bags. Knowing where the taxis queue on the edge of the pedestrian area (such as Paseo de Sarasate) will save your energy for more shopping.

Engage with Shopkeepers
Navarran shopkeepers are generally warm and proud of their products. If you are looking for something specific—whether it is a local wine, a handmade shoe, or a specific fabric—ask for help. They often know the inventory of other stores in the area and can direct you to a competitor if they don’t have what you need. This network of trust is the backbone of the local retail scene.

The joy of shopping in Pamplona lies in its lack of pretense. It is a city where quality is judged by craftsmanship rather than brand logos, and where the pace of commerce allows for conversation. As you move from the historic cobblestones to the wide, tree-lined avenues, you will notice that the transition between buying and simply living is seamless. A shopping trip here often turns into a long coffee break, which turns into a walk through a park, which turns into dinner.

Take your time wandering these streets. The best finds are rarely in the window displays at eye level; they are tucked away in the back of a workshop or on a high shelf in a family-run store. By slowing down and observing the local rhythm, you will leave Pamplona not just with a full shopping bag, but with a deeper appreciation for the city’s character and the people who keep its streets alive.
