The French Riviera is synonymous with glamour, but few experiences capture its essence quite like sipping a chilled rosé above the terracotta rooftops of Cannes. While the city is world-famous for its film festival and the Croisette’s beaches, the real magic often happens several stories up. For travelers seeking a break from the bustling promenade, the city’s elevated terraces offer a sanctuary of sea breezes, panoramic vistas, and impeccable French hospitality.
Cannes presents a unique dichotomy of scenery: on one side, the endless azure of the Mediterranean, dotted with the Lérins Islands, and on the other, the rugged foothills of the Alpes-Maritimes. Finding a vantage point that captures both is the key to a perfect evening. The best rooftop venues in the city have mastered this balance, offering unobstructed views that stretch from the Bay of Cannes to the historic Le Suquet district.
However, a great view is only half the story. Cannes is a culinary powerhouse, and the quality of food and drink must match the altitude. From innovative mixology to traditional Provençal cuisine with a modern twist, these elevated spaces are curated to satisfy discerning palates. Whether you are looking for a sun-drenched lunch or a moonlit cocktail, the ambiance is carefully crafted.
Accessibility is another factor that sets the top terraces apart. While some are hidden within the grand palaces of the Boulevard de la Croisette, others are tucked away in the winding streets of the old town. Knowing where to look is essential, as the most exclusive spots are rarely visible from street level. This guide aims to lift the veil on the city’s sky-high social scene.
Dress codes and etiquette also play a role in the Riviera lifestyle. While Cannes is generally relaxed, the rooftop bars often lean toward "smart casual" or "chic," especially after sunset. It is advisable to check reservation policies, as the best tables—the ones on the corner with the sea view—are usually booked days in advance, particularly during the summer season.
To help you elevate your itinerary, we have curated a list of the most spectacular elevated venues the city has to offer. These spaces have been selected for their view quality, service standards, and overall atmosphere, ensuring you find the perfect spot for any occasion.

As always , everything related to Five Seas hotel is amazing and Le Roof is no exception. Nice drinks, amazing view, cozy atmosphere and excellent finger food. Top that with the fact that people working there have 20+ charisma score.

I always seek out nice rooftop bars when I travel, and I stumbled upon this cozy spot without an RSVP. It was definitely worth the 10-15 minute wait (which I totally understood since I hadn't made a reservation). The atmosphere was super relaxed, and the cocktails were delicious. I didn’t get photos of the cocktails on my first night, but here's a cute bird photo I took during the day while having coffee—it offers a lovely view of Cannes! The service was so great that I found myself returning almost every day during my 10 days in Cannes! 😂

Perfect place for a crafted cocktail. Service impeccable! Nice ambience with the pool and surrounding roof tops.
Mandy Arnold★★★☆☆
Just know the pool seating area is limited to guests. We went up to enjoy the sun and nice weather but were sat in an “outdoor area” that was an inside tented area on the roof next to the outdoor area. Service was good, but be aware if you want to sit outside.

The Perfect Spot to Unwind After a Business Fair
After a long day at a business fair, this is the perfect place to kick back and relax. No matter your mood, there’s a space that fits—whether you want to people-watch, find a quiet corner to unwind, enjoy a smoke on the terrace, or even lounge by the swimming pool.
The drinks are well-made, and while I didn’t try the food, everything looked tempting. The prices were a bit above my usual budget, but the experience made it worth it. If you’re looking for a stylish and versatile spot to end the evening, I definitely recommend checking it out!

We had an amazing evening at Marea. From the moment we arrived, the reception was very warm and friendly, and we were immediately guided to our table. The food was absolutely excellent — especially the beetroot hummus, the fish, and the truffle taglierini. Every dish was full of flavour and just delicious. The wine and cocktails were outstanding as well. The service was attentive and genuinely kind throughout the entire evening. The view and overall atmosphere were easily 10/10. We’ll definitely be coming back! Thank you 🥰

Marea was a beautiful experience. The views are gorgeous, the ambiance is really nice, and the food was very tasty. Service was also good and attentive without feeling rushed. What we really appreciated is that they don’t push you to leave once you’re done eating, so you can relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and take in the view. It does get very full though, so I would definitely recommend booking in advance. A great spot for a nice meal.

Had a wonderful dinner at Marea. We had a great table with a view overlooking the pier and ocean. We enjoyed watching the boats come in and out and “parking”. Very friendly and attentive staff. We had the fish dishes and it was well seasoned and tasty. Wine selection also very good.
The restaurant is in the covered part and the bar is outside. Reservations recommended.
Marea is a great restaurant offering beautiful views and great service and food to match.

Very beautiful restaurant with a lovely view over Cannes — the location is truly unbeatable. However, I felt the value for money was not quite right.
My truffle pasta arrived lukewarm and was not seasoned enough. The entrecôte, however, was excellent, and they kindly cooked vegetables without salt for our child for €7, which we appreciated.
What surprised us was that a glass of wine cost €28, while the bottle price was €90. This was not communicated transparently and simply did not feel quite right.
In total, we paid around €150 without starters or dessert. Although the location is wonderful, we probably would not return for dinner — perhaps only for cocktails.

Staying at the Canopy as a Diamond member, we did cocktails two of the nights at Marea. Great service, views, ambiance, vibe and scene with DJ’s spinning deep, lounge and jazzy house. Must try!

The staff sets the tone to this place for sure👌🏼✨. Our waiter or if it was the head waiter (feelt like that), doesn’t really matter mastered the evening with such an exceptional balance of humor, professionalism, and just first class service✨. The setting for dining is like sitting in someone’s living room. Our dog was very relaxed on the carpet and thought this was her new home I think 😅. Food wise they had a brand new menu we were told and we got two mains and two desserts. The mains were phenomenal✨👌🏼. I had the fish and my wife had the risotto, best she ever had she said (and she have had a few I can tell😅). The dessert however didn’t fell in to our taste. They were very well made and nicely presented but did not suit us in taste. I had the sufflé and my wife had the chocolate. We ended our evening finish up our wine in the outside area with good wibes from the DJ and a were satisfied mood.

A very disappointing experience at Le Roof, Five Seas Hotel.
The advertised “panoramic view” did not match what we experienced. From where we were sitting, there was no impressive outlook—just surrounding buildings, some taller than the rooftop itself. The terrace felt small, and the low, sun-lounger-style seating was uncomfortable and damp. The pool, cacti and basic outdoor lighting did little to create a special atmosphere.
We ordered two blue mocktails described as containing pineapple, lemon and coconut. Unfortunately, they tasted like heavily sweetened, diluted syrup. We could barely distinguish any of the advertised flavours.
I understand that kitchens have closing times, but it was disappointing to have absolutely nothing to eat, not even a small snack, while the bar was still serving drinks (there was just a very small bowl of mixed nuts. Unfortunately, they did not taste fresh and had gone slightly soft, losing much of their crunch). We left hungry and had to look elsewhere.
For a rooftop in a five-star hotel, we expected a much better experience. Neither the view, the comfort nor the drinks lived up to expectations. I would not return.
The two stars are solely for the staff’s warm, friendly welcome and cheerful smiles.

The ambiance is beautiful and perfectly set for a relaxed yet elegant rooftop dinner. The service was fantastic, attentive, friendly, and full of great recommendations that really enhanced the evening! Outstanding food, and I was genuinely impressed with every dish. Overall, everything from the atmosphere to the service and food was a complete success. Highly recommended ! Warm greeting to the best staff there❤️🤗

What a delightful find in the core of Cannes. We had a pre drinks on the roof top lounge area. Definitely a must if you have the time. We then headed into dinner into their quaint dining room. Our service was very efficient, and pleasant by the entire service team. Our food was spectacular, both in presentation and taste. The food pics give a glimpse of the delicious food we enjoyed. A must visit!

Last minute decision today to have some drinks during golden hour and watch the sunrise, so fortunately they were able to accommodate us. Had some cocktails and snacks at the bar. Every person we met was nice. Top service. Drinks and food were also 👍. Liked that they make guacamole in front of you so you know it's fresh. Definitely recommend the place!

Decided to organize a birthday gathering for 15 people at restaurant Bella. Everything was absolutely perfect from head to toe. Fantastic crew and vibes that were led by our waiter for the evening (Alberto). The food was beyond divine, in fact it's probably the best I've personally had in the Côte d'Azur. Everyone should visit restaurant Bella at least once in their life. Thank you for an unforgettable time! P.S. Don't hesitate to order cake for your special occasion directly through them, we're all still drooling at the thought of it.

Food was mediocre and very expensive as well as the drinks. The staff seemed understaffed too so there was a lot of waiting time. On top of that they charge EUR 15 for a bottle of water which I find outrageous- it was hot so we drank two bottles so we actually spent 30 euro on water (come on…). The slow cooked tuna dish was ok however it came along with eggplant garnish that was really bad. It seemed to have a lot of cumin and that went really bad with the fish in my opinion.

Superb ambience and delightful cuisine. I received the most warm and exceptional welcome from the hostess Sandra for dinner tonight and the most thoughtful and professional service from Nadia, who was my waitress and an excellent guide to Bella's menu. I'm so happy with my experience here and already am planning on returning with friends. Don't skip ordering the leeks with tahini and honey, nor the sole if they have it, and the chocolate gateau with passion fruit! Complimenti alla brigata! Complements to the brigade and merci mille fois 🥰🩷✨

We stopped by for cocktails with our family and friends on the rooftop after our civil wedding ceremony. We received such a warm welcome and felt so well taken care of from the moment we arrived.
The cocktails were exceptional, the appetizers were absolutely delicious, and the people made the experience truly unforgettable. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate this moment.
Highly recommended! And a special hello to Alberto!

This is my first time and will be my last time, they are very rude, from the receptionist to the manager, I was seated in a table after one hour they changed it!! in the middle of my meal! And she said if I don’t move she will call the security and kick me out! Don’t recommend at all.

An unforgettable experience! The Marriott rooftop on the Croisette undoubtedly offers the most beautiful terrace in all of Cannes. The setting is simply magical, magnificent, with a breathtaking view.
As for the food, the dishes are delicious and well-prepared, although the portion of seared tuna was rather small.
A big thank you to the team who made the experience even more special: Mustapha, the dynamic and professional manager, always smiling and extremely helpful. You can immediately feel his passion! And it's truly delightful. Uma, our waitress, was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional.
A must-visit that I wholeheartedly endorse and recommend! After a long day at work, it's truly the perfect place to unwind.

A real gem! On the 5th floor overlooking the Croisette, a spectacular sea view in an elegant and incredibly welcoming setting. The local cuisine is generous, refined, and showcases beautiful ingredients.
My special mention goes to the cocktails, as beautiful as they are delicious. For me, this is the place to be in Cannes, ideal for a romantic dinner or simply to enjoy the view. I highly recommend it! You practically reach for the stars up there.
Aurore ESPERANT-COLOMBOT★★★★☆
The view is certainly exceptional, but the rooftop decor leaves much to be desired. The menu is nothing special, and the milkshakes are not recommended. The staff is very young and friendly but lacks supervision; they are left too much to their own devices, which detracts from the professional atmosphere.

One of the best meals we’ve had in a long time.
We stopped by Café Olympe and were completely blown away. The gazpacho was super refreshing, the sardines and squid in oil were full of flavor, and the burrata was just perfect. Everything was simple but done incredibly well. We had some bubbles to go with it all, and honestly, it felt like a dream.
The staff couldn’t have been sweeter — warm, friendly, and just lovely to talk to. Tge view is just stunning. It’s the kind of place you don’t want to leave.
Highly recommend — this is cannes best kept secret

We were there for an apero….The location is very nice, but that is all. I do not suggest it
Michał Karski★★☆☆☆
I was there with a family member today and we waited half an hour for someone to come to our table despite the café being moderately busy. Either there are too few people working there to take care of the tables, or there is perhaps a different reason, which I won’t guess. We were both kind at the beginning, but the staff was mostly cold and unkind.
The coffees were good, the apricot juice the same, I don’t have any objections to that. The views are nice, if you have much free time and you don’t mind waiting for an excessive amount of time, then I won’t advise you not to come, cause it is a pretty place to sit. The atmosphere would probably be higher than two stars then.
Poor rating overall because of the staff, which made this experience rather unpleasant, and the waiter wasn’t really proficient; however, he apologized for that. Don’t think we will come back here soon, but I’m not saying Olymp isn’t worth a try, you have to see for yourself 🙂

My first time at this establishment, I was not let down. The food is amazing. The service is impeccable in the ambience and the vibes are what you look for when you think south of France. The DJ warms up about 1030 and it turns really vibrant and then you can move inside to the Club around midnight. I will definitely return next year.

Honestly, so worth the price! The entertainment was so lit, the atmosphere was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious. The whole night had such a good vibe, and the service was great too. Definitely a place I’d recommend for a fun night out.
A. U.★☆☆☆☆
I bought a ticket specifically to see Shimza and arrived at around midnight. What followed was one of the strangest and most unprofessional club experiences I have ever had.
At the entrance, the staff seemed completely disorganized. They stared at me, walked back and forth, and appeared unable to decide what to do. Some people were allowed in while others were stopped, with no clear explanation.
One employee took my ticket, scanned or photographed the QR code, and then simply disappeared. After I had been left standing there waiting, another employee came over and told me that my ticket had already been used. Of course it had. Their own colleague had just processed it in front of me.
Eventually, I discovered that the real issue was apparently my Le Club 55 cap. A woman asked me to remove it and leave it with security. I had no problem doing so because I assumed this was part of the dress code. However, once inside, I saw plenty of other guests wearing caps and hats. So clearly, the rule was not being applied equally. The whole situation felt arbitrary, selective, and deeply unprofessional.
Unfortunately, the bar experience was even worse. The bartenders aggressively pushed me to buy a bottle for around €1,000 to €1,500 and seemed to expect me to treat women they knew. When I made it clear that I was not going to buy bottle service at the bar, they became rude and effectively stopped serving me.
This is not hospitality. It is pressure, arrogance, and disrespect toward a paying guest.
The sound and lighting were good, but professional equipment cannot compensate for chaotic management, selective door policies, and disgraceful treatment at the bar.
A club charging premium prices should provide premium service. This place delivered the exact opposite.
I left completely disappointed and would not recommend it.
Sasha & Ryan★★★★★
We visited for dinner and vibes and it did not disappoint! Dinner was full of flavour (rock shrimp was a particular favourite), service was great & the vibes were amazing. We got the ruby package for 2 people and felt it was worth the price for a table for 4 hours. We had multiple courses, with the dj and dancers keeping the vibes going throughout. We will most definitely visit again when in the SOF!!
Jan Stelzer★☆☆☆☆
Without a doubt the worst venue on the Côte d’Azur.
We had dinner here with a group of eight and spent around €1,400. Toward the end of the evening, two women from our table went to the restroom. When they tried to return, security refused to let them back because they had decided to close off that section of the venue.
Instead of handling the situation professionally, the security guard physically prevented them from returning to our table. When the manager arrived, his only response was that the guard was “just doing his job.” There was no apology, no attempt to find a reasonable solution, and absolutely no concern for paying customers.
Cannes is full of outstanding restaurants and clubs where guests are treated with respect. Bâoli is not one of them. It feels like a place living on its former reputation: arrogant staff, poor management, and a clear focus on making quick money rather than providing hospitality or customer service.
We will never return, and I would strongly recommend spending your money elsewhere. As previously mentioned in another review: when greed kills a legend. People are treated like dirt here. The managers simply don’t care, make no effort to resolve problems, and couldn’t care less about their customers.

Superb stay with my family at Five Seas Cannes. We were a big group, 11 of us in total across all age groups, baby included, and the hotel managed every one of us without a single hiccup.
Andrea was brilliant from before we even arrived. Every request we threw at her during pre-check-in was sorted. We rolled up with a ton of luggage and the concierge and reception team at the gate were right there, ready and on it. Check-in was quick and easy, and the rooms were all prepped and waiting for us.
The rooms are clean, modern and seriously spacious, better than I can really put into words. Hands down one of the most underrated hotels I've stayed at anywhere in Europe. I honestly can't think of one bad thing to say.
Would absolutely recommend it to families and anyone else heading to Cannes.

As a Marriott Ambassador Elite, I’ve stayed in a lot of luxury properties around the world, and Five Seas in Cannes genuinely stood out in the best way.
From the moment I arrived, the service felt warm, personal, and effortless, exactly what you hope for but don’t always get. I was especially impressed that they accommodated my early check-in at 1 PM right after a long flight, which made a huge difference in how I started my stay.
The hotel itself has that perfect boutique luxury vibe, stylish, intimate, and not overly crowded. The rooms are beautifully designed, very clean, and feel thoughtfully curated rather than generic. You can tell they pay attention to the details.
What really made the experience memorable though was the staff. Everyone I interacted with was genuinely kind, professional, and eager to help without being overbearing. It didn’t feel transactional, it felt like true hospitality.
Location wise, it’s also hard to beat. You’re right in the heart of Cannes, just steps from everything, yet the hotel still feels like a peaceful escape.
Overall, this is one of those places I’d gladly come back to. For anyone visiting Cannes and looking for a boutique luxury experience with top-tier service, this is it. Highly recommended!

My first time in Cannes celebrating my two year anniversary with my partner. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The staff were so incredibly kind, our room was so spacious and everything was always cleaned and restocked. We enjoyed having our own private balcony too! The concierge helped book an appointment at the salon for me and I was running a few minutes behind, so ofcourse- they offered to drive me! There I was in what looks like a golf court driving to the hair appointment 😂 . The pool is lovely, the food is superb; you’re centrally located so walking is no problem at all! Great ambiance and all around a 10/10. We will be coming back 100% and I really cannot wait!! ❤️ thank you to all who made it so special.
P.s. book the spa too! So nice and helped me ease into this holiday well 🌸💚

One of the most beautiful bars I’ve ever visited. The atmosphere was truly exceptional, with an elegant yet vibrant energy that made the entire experience memorable. Excellent food and even better drinks. The atmosphere is relaxed and refreshing. Adonis, the barkeep, is a gentleman and can point you to anything locally that may be of interest. Absolutely loved this tapas bar. The food was incredible — every dish was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. The service was honestly one of the highlights of the night; the staff were so welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly without being over the top. They gave great recommendations and made us feel looked after from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and lively, perfect for sharing plates and drinks with friends. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time — will definitely be coming back!

If I could give more stars, then I would do so in a heartbeat. La Fée Verte has the biggest selection of cocktails I’ve seen and they’re all amazing. Adonis, the owner, is a sincere & sociable guy with great humor and the most interesting stories. Above all, the atmosphere, music, and location of the cocktail bar is perfect. What makes this place even better, is that he does everything (cocktails, tapas, table service, cleaning, etc.) all on his own. If I ever return to Cannes, then I will definitely be back here. If you’re in Cannes for a trip, then La Fée Verte is definitely at the top of the list of must-go places. Merci pour tout, Adonis, et à la prochaine !

Skyfall Cannes is easily one of the best nightlife destinations in heart of Cannes!

Me and my wife went there for NYE, definitely not that ‘classy’ and ‘chic’ cause of some clientele people.
Staff at Skyfall is nice and kind but I can’t say the same bout the other ones drinking inside.
Music way too loud and 30€ with a drink included are too much for this place. It’s more like a disco, definitely not a lounge bar. I personally wouldn’t recommend if you’re searching for a classy bar.

On Sundays there was the DJ LENA K, amazing set in an very classy location! Prices are very correct even for a table. Music and location are amazing, just need to repeat this over and over. That was missing in Cannes. Very nice crew for the service, allways an eye open and no waiting time. Must go place!

Skyfall is an amazing, modern, classy, chic and superbly decorated cocktail bar. I was served the most lush cocktails and the vibe and music was fantastic!
Visiting Skyfall is a MUST when in Cannes, and I'm already looking forward to my next trip back! Thank you Skyfall staff for making my visit to Cannes so perfect.

Find the magic at this hidden gem, down a side street alley and go to Le Jardin Secret! Quaint and intimate bar/restaurant (outside patio) with decor that is warm and welcoming. It gives me speak-easy vibes! It was a complete surprise and an experience that made this solo-traveler feel incredibly welcomed. Sit with a glass of wine (or a Spritz!), order food (ravioli and hummus were delicious and so was the homemade dessert) and enjoy the vibes and the charisma of Max, who will make you feel right at home.

The place itself is really charming and great to enjoy with friends & family while sipping drinks. The staff is very friendly and thoughtful. Unfortunately we were not happy with the food. It was pretty expensive for the amount and was missing spices. It would be nice to have at least salt and pepper on the table to add if needed. Nevertheless it's one of the better places in Cannes.

This is my first time in Cannes and I can’t imagine a place that is more opposite to the general mayhem of the advertising festival.
If you want a secluded place to enjoy the good weather and some tasty wine, then this is the place. It’s not fancy at all, so check yourself before you make the trip up the hill.
The hospitality, food, and wine are all worth the trip.

Le Jardin Secret is an absolute hidden gem in the heart of the old town. With its quirky garden in the back, you can get away from the hustle and bustle of le Souquet and enjoy a quiet and relaxed evening. The food is authentic and delicious, and the wine list is unparalleled. To top it all off, the owner Max and his staff are so friendly and make the whole experience worthwhile. A must when visiting Cannes.

We had an amazing experience here and would absolutely give this place 5 stars. Even though it was completely full, the service was incredibly friendly, fast and consistently professional, which made us feel really well taken care of. The atmosphere next to the market is great – lively, authentic and exactly what you hope for in this part of town. The portions were large, the seafood was fresh and truly delicious, and every dish felt like great value. This is a spot everyone should visit when they are in Cannes!

Excellent oysters and prawns. Great prices you don’t usually expect on the French Riviera for this kind of food.
Saved it on my top favorites, will surely return next time I’m in Cannes.

We really like this place for simple seafood. Do not go expecting a traditional seafood menu, there are no sides or extras. It's basic, shrimp, oysters, urchins, and a few other things. There is also charcuterie, for non seafood eaters. If you like peel and eat, simple fresh shrimp and oysters, I highly recommend this place. The service is good and the vibe is nice, because it is around the local Forville Market.

Tips for Choosing the Perfect Rooftop in Cannes
Selecting the right terrace can significantly impact your experience in Cannes, as each venue has a distinct personality and set of logistics. To ensure you find a spot that aligns with your expectations, it is helpful to consider a few local nuances. Whether you are planning a romantic date or a casual afternoon with friends, these guidelines will help you navigate the city’s skyline like a local insider rather than a first-time visitor.
1. Time Your Visit with the Golden Hour
The lighting in the South of France is unlike anywhere else in the world. Arrive roughly an hour before sunset to secure your seat and watch the sky turn from bright blue to deep purple. This transition period is not only the most photogenic but also usually coincides with the shift from day menus to evening cocktail service.
2. Check for "Transat" or Lounge Minimums
Unlike standard bars, many high-end rooftops in Cannes operate with a minimum spend for premium seating. This is especially true for front-row loungers or beds that face the sea. Always ask about the "minimum" or "minimum de consommation" before sitting down to avoid an unexpected bill.
3. Wind Can Be a Factor
The Mistral wind can sweep through the bay even on a sunny day. While the breeze is often welcome in the heat, it can become chilly in the evening. Check the forecast, and if winds are predicted, opt for a rooftop that offers glass windbreakers or sheltered corners.
4. Reserve Ahead for the Season
Cannes is not a spontaneous city during the high season (May to September). Walk-ins are often turned away from the best terraces, especially during festival periods. A quick phone call or online booking, even a few hours in advance, is essential to guarantee a table with a view.
5. Understand the Dress Code
While the Riviera is a holiday destination, the luxury rooftops enforce a "smart casual" policy. This generally means no beachwear, flip-flops, or sports jerseys after 6:00 PM. Linen shirts, sundresses, and elegant footwear will ensure you blend in seamlessly with the sophisticated crowd.
The allure of Cannes is often found in its details: the glint of sunlight on a glass, the distant hum of yachts leaving the harbor, and the scent of salt mixed with citrus. Choosing to spend an afternoon or evening on a rooftop allows you to step away from the busy streets and appreciate the city from a serene, elevated perspective. It is an investment in a memory rather than just a meal.
As the evening draws to a close and the lights of the Boulevard de la Croisette begin to shimmer, you will understand why these elevated havens are so cherished. No matter which terrace you choose from the list above, you are guaranteed a front-row seat to one of the most beautiful shows in Europe: the daily rhythm of the Côte d’Azur.
