12 Best Hotels Near Tossa de Mar Old Town

Tossa de Mar remains one of the Costa Brava’s most enchanting coastal towns, where medieval walls rise above a horseshoe-shaped bay and narrow stone alleys open onto hidden plazas. Staying near the Old Town, or Vila Vella, places you steps away from the area’s most atmospheric corners, yet still close enough to feel the sea breeze from your window. It is the only remaining fortified medieval town on the Catalan coast, and its lantern-lit ramparts create an almost theatrical setting after sunset.

Choosing accommodation here means trading large resort complexes for boutique hotels, family-run guesthouses, and converted historic buildings. The Old Town itself is largely pedestrianized, which preserves its quiet charm but also means parking can be limited and some streets are steep or cobbled. For many travellers, the compromise is well worth it: you can wander the battlements at dawn before the day-trippers arrive and enjoy dinner without needing a taxi back to a distant hotel.

The surrounding neighbourhoods, such as Sa Roqueta, the fishing quarter, and the streets fanning out toward Platja Gran, offer a softer transition between the historic core and the modern town. These areas often provide easier access for luggage, more contemporary amenities, and sea-view terraces while keeping the castle within a five- or ten-minute walk. Understanding this geography is the key to matching a hotel to your travel style, whether you prioritize romance, family convenience, or photographic access to the old stones.

Most properties near the Old Town are small to mid-sized, which means service tends to be personal and recommendations come from people who know the local fishing schedules and hidden coves. You will find fewer international chain hotels here and more places that reflect the character of the Costa Brava: whitewashed walls, blue shutters, and terraces scented with jasmine. Breakfast often includes local embutidos, tomato-rubbed bread, and strong coffee, setting you up for a day of walking.

Because Tossa de Mar sits roughly 90 minutes north of Barcelona and close to Girona, it works beautifully as a base for exploring the broader region. Yet many guests find the Old Town itself so absorbing that they rarely leave. The balance between beach time, historical wandering, and excellent seafood is easily struck, especially when you can return to your room for a midday siesta without crossing town.

When evaluating the best hotels near Tossa de Mar Old Town, I considered location, guest comfort, historical character, and the quality of practical details such as soundproofing, air conditioning, and luggage access. A property directly inside the medieval walls may offer unbeatable atmosphere but could involve hauling suitcases up stone steps. A hotel just outside the walls may be more comfortable for older travellers or those with mobility concerns.

Below, you will find a curated selection of stays that capture the best of Tossa’s old-town magic while serving different budgets and travel needs. Following the list, I have included practical tips to help you choose the right property and make the most of your time in this remarkable corner of the Costa Brava.

We just spent 10 days here and I love this place. It has an unbeatable amount of character. Everything about this place is beautiful. I definitely recommend opting for the breakfast buffet as it is the most wonderful way to start your day. Of course, the location is unbeatable. The staff are all very nice and the rooms are kept very clean. The only downside, and this might just be our room, is that you can here the door below us slam fairly often, including into late evening. I'm pretty sure this is the door to the staff/ laundry area. However, the terrace off of our room was such an amazing place to hang out, it more than made up for it. I really hate that we have to leave tomorrow. Tossa de Mar is just an amazing place.

READ THIS. To be fair, my parents did not notice that they don't allow pets. And since they have their "no-refund" policy, my parents decided that my dad will sleep in the camping van with the dog. We were enjoying ourselves until the next morning, their manager called our room to go down to the reception. I went down immediately but when I asked why I was called down, the lady at the reception desk(not the manager) did an eye roll and had me waiting there for 10 minutes without talking to me about the situation. I did talk to her but she just stared at me without replying. Later, she had to call her manager because the manager won't show up in person. Then, she told me that we brought our dog into our room. Like, what??? I said, "No, we didn't." But the lady insisted that "YES, YOU DID." We didn't. They could've checked the cctv or something because we actually didn't. My parents were actually glad that it was a great opportunity to check out the different functions of the new camping van. Even when I told them that we did not bring our pet into our room, She smirked and told me that we did. I don't know if that's just how they treat their customers or they are racists who believes they are better than everyone else. But no thank you. We checked out two nights before the date that we planned to leave because Hotel Diana didn't make us feel safe to stay at all.

This is an absolute gem. Our first visit to the region and we relied on previous reviews of this property and could not b happier wih the result. The views of the sunrise from our Sea view patio are amazing. The town is quaint and the lighthouse complex with stone walls, turrets and shops is quick 5 minute walk away. The rooms are well appointed and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast options are great with buffet style or a la carte. If I could give 6 star I would. Thank you Hotel Diana- we will be back.

Lovely historic hotel that retains much of it's authentic origins. Location is exceptional but that brings noise risk with it on the side of the hotel over the square.

What a lovely olde worlde hotel on the beach Friendly efficient staff, beautiful art deco hotel, warm and comfortable on a cold October evening Well appointed room overlooking the sea and castle and pretty hotel terrace. Very tasty, reasonably priced, dinner in the restaurant and excellent breakfast included in the room rates. Plenty of fresh bread, croissant, fruit etc. Lovely hot options to order, hubby had pancakes with maple syrup and bacon, I had tostada with hummus and feta with excellent coffee. Tossa de Mar is a beautiful unspoilt seaside town with lots of friendly bars and restaurants. Will definitely return and stay longer next time but Hotel Diana perfect stopover between Costa Blanca and Normandy.

I will start with the bad. After checkout I was waiting on the couch with my feet up (shoes off) and a cleaning lady rudely in Spanish indicated that I was to keep my feet on the floor. She was so rude I’m not sure why an old cleaning lady is giving anyone any instructions at a hotel. Someone needs to train her on customer service or tell her not to speak to guests. If she has a problem she can tell a customer service agent who will likely be more kind when communicating. I normally don’t sit like this but after check out I was not feeling well and while we figured out our next plan I thought I’d relax on the couch since this is such a big resort. I went to sit in my car in the sun which was a more relaxing experience than this “resort”. Also We were given 2 bath towels and 1 hand towel for our stay for 2 people. Me and my friend each need 1 bath and 1 hand towel so we asked for 1 extra towel at the front desk - which was proudly advertised as 24/7 reception - and were told. NO. You can’t have any extra towels. After explaining for 10 minutes that we don’t need for pool or beach she finally said ok I’ll see if we have any available and send them up. We eventually did get 1 extra towel. The room is basic , not too soundproof and the beds are not too comfortable with 1 pillow per bed. The good - the check in was smooth and the agent was very nice and helpful. The bar area is very nice they gave me hot water and cups when I asked for them. The location is great. But for the price we paid and low level of service I’d rather pay less and be a little father.

We stayed at Hotel Don Juan Tossa for the second time and once again had a wonderful holiday! The hotel has a great location, very close to the beach, the rooms are lovely and comfortable, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. A special highlight of our stay was the kids’ entertainment, especially the wonderful animator Eugin. Our daughter absolutely adored her and always looked forward to seeing her! Eugin did so many fun activities with her – face painting, arts and crafts, different games, jumping in puddles, playing together and swimming in the pool. Our daughter had such a lovely time with her throughout our stay. A very special thank you to Eugin for being so warm, caring and attentive with our daughter. Thanks to her, my husband and I even had the rare opportunity to enjoy a walk together, just the two of us, knowing that our daughter was happy and having a wonderful time. Thank you to the whole team for making our second stay so enjoyable and for giving our daughter such lovely memories. We would happily come back again!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel! From the moment we arrived, everything was top-notch. The rooms were excellent, spacious, and incredibly comfortable—the beds were so cozy that we got perfect sleep every night. A huge shoutout to the housekeeping staff for their dedication; the rooms were cleaned thoroughly every single day, so it was always a pleasure to return to a spotless environment. As for the food, it exceeded all expectations! Everything was high-quality, delicious, and the variety was impressive—there was always plenty of choices to satisfy every craving. This hotel offers incredible value for money. We recommend it 100% and will definitely be coming back!
Alex Truswell★★★★★
Brand new refurbished bedroom, lovely buffet dinner with lots of well cooked high quality choices each evening in the immaculate restaurant. The staff clearly enjoy working at the Don Juan as they were all so happy and friendly, saying Buenas Días in the morning etc. The location is great, only 5mins max walk to the beach. The price was good value too. Nothing affected our stay, but for feedback: Pool side music was a little too loud at times, we had nice comfortable sun loungers (the black ones) but the white plastic loungers needed cushions. The lighting in the restaurant was a little to bright for me.

Last year our family stayed at this hotel and had a good experience, so this year we came back with an even larger group. Unfortunately, we are very disappointed. The room we were given is in terrible condition: a strong mold smell (especially in the bathroom and near the air conditioner), damaged furniture, and an overall unacceptable standard. When we asked for another room, we were told that this is "standard" and that we had actually received one of the best rooms. The food is very good, and the location is excellent, but the attitude of the administration has been extremely disappointing. We are still waiting for a solution and sincerely hope the hotel management will see this review and help us by offering a suitable room as soon as possible.

The room is extremely small — there’s barely any space to move around. There is no table, the wardrobe is old and inconvenient, and inside it there’s a hanging fabric shelf from IKEA where everything just falls off. The bathroom is also very cramped with no surface to put things on. Sleeping in the room is impossible: right below the windows there are restaurants and crowds of tourists, so it’s very noisy both day and night. We couldn’t use the air conditioner due to health reasons, which made the room stuffy. Another serious issue is the smell. The whole building has a strange, unpleasant odor, and inside the room it feels like there’s mold, even though it’s not visible. The tap water smells strongly of chlorine. Access to the room is also difficult: the staircase is very steep and narrow, and there is no elevator. The sea nearby is not suitable for swimming — there are many brown jellyfish, and the water looks polluted (bubbling, which is a sign of chemical contamination). Overall, this place can only be considered for a one-night stay at most. It is absolutely unsuitable for a proper holiday.

Great location, great views over the beach. Friendly receptionist. On the other hand: beds are too soft and you hear the neighbours well. Considering everything, I still give it full rating

We are both 60 me and my husband. Came to tossa del ma To stay last year in a hotel couldn't believe how lovely the Hostels are her so this year 23 We decided to stay in a hostel It's amazing beautiful views from the balcony We stayed in room 307. Has everything you could need great shower. Really powerful hairdryer. The staff are fantastic. There's a communal used fridge down stairs and kettle and microwave. We used the fridge a lot Nothing went missing. The cleaner comes everyday. The views from balcony are fantastic . I'd definitely recommend staying here .

Perfect location, right on the beach and surrounded by bars and restaurants, a few minutes' walk from the old town. The balcony has an amazing view of the beach and castle. Bed is comfortable, shower is fine, staff is friendly.

Great place, great location, good price and very nice staff. The breakfast is brought to the room which is a nice touch. The staff was also very compliant with current covid situation. The walls are a bit thin and there are some stairs, both things we didn’t mind but some might find important.

We specifically choose this hotel as it was adults only and its so nice to not have kids running around everywhere. Positives: Excellent location (within 500m of centre, bars, restaurants and beach but also quiet) Really clean - housekeeping do an excellent job Nice quiet pool and pool area Nice breakfast and bar area Comfortable bed, powerful shower Negatives: Despite there being signs saying not to, people reserved sunbeds The couple in the room above us had noisy sex which we could hear. Thankfully it was all over very quickly.

Fantastic hotel. Clean. Relaxing. Peaceful. Stevie on the hotel bar is amazing. Great singer and just the most amazing person. Makes a killer passionfruit mojito. She made our stay! Silly rule about €10 cash for a towel for the pool, need a system for those who dont carry cash.

Lovely stay. The lady at the reception were absolutely lovely. We had to cut our stay short unfortunately and leave for Barcelona earlier, and the kind lady agreed to this and gave us our money back. The rooms are simple and clean. The pool looked heavenly (didn't get a chance to dip in). The location is very good, walking distance to the beach.
Alicia Warren★★★★★
The hotel was so clean and so well maintained that I thought it was brand new. The rooms were clean, the food was amazing, and ALL of the staff were so friendly and helpful. Rosa was especially kind. One night I was sitting by the pool and it got chilly. She brought me a blanket to wrap around my shoulders. I can’t remember the last time I stayed at a hotel with so many friendly staff members. It made all the difference. Amazing location too! If you come to Tossa de Mar you have to stay here.

Great stay! Staff were amazing, from reception, to bar staff, to the cleaning crew… everyone was very helpful and welcoming, noticed almost everyone spoke 2/3 languages. They had some very good recommendations for where to eat and what to do. Very clean and just like in the pictures will definitely stay again

My wife and I considered Tossa de Mar based on a good friends recommendation, wow, what a stunning location. Our stay at the Golden Mar Menuda was outstanding, the whole team are so inviting and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food was good, we were half board, with buffet breakfast and three course evening meal. There were barely any children at the hotel (6th to 13th June) and the small pool always had plenty of free sunbeds with large free towels provided by the hotel. Our sea view room was amazing with a huge balcony and breathtaking views of the coastline. We cannot recommend this hotel and lovely Catalonian town enough, with its medieval castle and many varied shops and restaurants. If you are looking to avoid too many stag and hen do’s and just want to chill in the sunshine, book the Golden Mar Menuda and enjoy!
Jean Cobine★★★★★
We absolutely loved our stay at Golden Mar Menuda. The location is incredible — right on the beach with beautiful views and only a short scenic walk into the old town of Tossa de Mar. Our room was comfortable, clean and peaceful, and waking up to the sound of the water each morning was something special. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay and made everything easy. On arrival, Ricard was excellent at helping us overcome the one way street as we’d overshot the entrance! The breakfast each morning was excellent and comprehensive with plenty of choice, and the whole hotel had a relaxed boutique feel that suited this part of the Costa Brava perfectly. Tossa de Mar ended up being one of our favourite places in Spain and Golden Mar Menuda was a big part of that experience. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it.
Gianna Berino★★★★★
Thank you to Jessica at reception for the wonderful first impression of the hotel. She was exactly the kind of person you’d want greeting you after a long journey 💛 Thank you to Toni for keeping our room spotless - and for lending us a beach umbrella! The staff at this hotel are exceptional. All warmth and kindness that not all establishments have. They have excellent breakfast options. The usual cheeses, meats, bread, pastries, egg station, drinks. I started my day with a few glasses of cava 🤭 This hotel has won my heart. I’ll be staying here again the next time I’m at Tossa de mar.
Tony Geoghegan★★★★★
Just back after an amazing week in Tossa de Mar, and this hotel was a terrific base. The staff were brilliant and everything was spotless. Our room wasn't massive, but plenty big enough for the two of us. Our room overlooked the diving school at the rear. A hotel in a quiet location where relaxation seems totally natural. From the front of the hotel you get the amazing view of the old castle. Breakfast was pretty good, with the usual options of meats, cheese and fruit/yoghurt. Omelettes and eggs etc available freshly prepared on request. There appeared to be more than enough sun beds for the number of guests (mid May so this might change, I suppose). A full mix of guests of various nationalities. The beach is literally seconds away. The sand is the soft type you sink into, but there are pebbles too. A ten minute walk, primarily alongside the beach gets you to the heart of the town, with restaurants and bars.
Geraldine Craft Pinson★★★★★
Mar Menuda holds a very special place in my heart. I used to come here as a child with my parents in the 80’s, every year until the late 90’s. It changed a lot since but I was delighted to see that the hotel was modernised in such a nice way and that the atmosphere didn’t change. The location at the end of Tossa in front of its own beach makes it wonderful, away from the more busy areas, but still at walkable distance from everything in Tossa. I actually loved the daily walks along the beach to get into town as I could relive all my childhood memories. The new pool area with its sitting is amazing and a wonderful spot to chill during the day. The buffet breakfast is an absolute treat, with options to please everyone. Sacalma bar and food is lovely too for snacks or tapas for lunch, and one of the best sangria we had! The rooms are comfortable and clean, and all the staff is so helpful and friendly. Thank you so much everyone at Golden Mar Menuda for a wonderful experience. So glad to realise some special places do not change, or only get better, even after 45 years 😉 I will definitely be back 🙂

Our 6-night stay at GHT Costa Brava Hotel was a great experience. Everything went smoothly, from check-in by Michaela, to the cleanliness of the room (an excellent job done by the housekeeping team), to the service provided by Jose and his restaurant crew. All staff were very friendly and willing to help. The location of the hotel is brilliant—on relatively quiet streets, just a 5-minute easy walk to the beach. Restaurants and supermarkets are just around the corner, and the historic city center is just a few minutes away. We were a family of four (with 2 small kids), so the room felt a little bit overcrowded, but other than that, everything was up to standard, with comfortable beds, decent decor both in the room and bathroom, and a fairly big balcony. I would definitely recommend GHT Costa Brava hotel for families with kids, although the pool area and 'playroom' were quite limited for children's entertainment.
Yana Stovbovenko★★★★☆
Overall, our stay was quite pleasant. The hotel has a great location, close to the sea, the food was delicious, and we really enjoyed the entertainment team and the spa. However, there were a few things that could be improved. The elevator and air conditioning were not working for two days, which was very difficult, especially with a child. Also, we were given a room with a glass shower located in the middle of the room. Since we were travelling with a child, this was quite uncomfortable because we constantly had to ask our child to leave the room whenever someone needed to take a shower. Despite these issues, we had a good overall stay and enjoyed the hotel and its location.

We recently spent 7 nights at the lovely ght Costa brava and spa. I can honestly say it is by far one of the best 3 star hotels I've ever stayed in. I'd even say it could be a 4 star. The hotel was immaculate. The standard of cleanliness was incredible. After a poor experience at the ght tossa park last year my faith in ght hotels has been restored! The staff were all very friendly and professional, the breakfast buffet was absolutely perfect! I've never had so much choice and all the food was very fresh and of high standard. The cleaners were superb, the rooms are cleaned every day of required and also fresh towels everyday too! The safe in the hotel room was free to use, and the wonderful spa was also free to access. I particularly loved the location of the hotel as it is less than a 10 minute walk to the beach and shops. Lots of selection at the pool bar, serving very reasonably priced drinks and bar snacks such as pizzas, toasties, chips etc. I honestly cannot recommend this hotel enough. We will definitely be returning! Highly recommend.
Vasu Kapoor★★★★★
I think this hotel was the best place we could have stayed. Stayed here for 4 days. Even though its a 3star but it deserves so much recognition. We loved every bit of it. Each member of the staff was super helpful. The rooms were just right. And cleaned daily around 12ish. The swimming area is GORGEOUS. The spa area super relaxing. The pools inside in the spa area are so relaxing. Specifically mentioning, the massages 🙏🏻👏🏻. The relax massage is the one you need to start with. I wish i could have tried others too. But nevertheless the spa lady was beautiful and the vibes inside the room are super calming. The cutest thing i would remember from this hotel is the chef lady who was in the panfrying section. God… she was absolutely amazing. The way she was working was splendid and on my last day when i mentioned to her that i am leaving, she gave me such a warm hug and said goodbye in her cute way that melted my heart. Over the top, she handed me a paper-cone with some fruit jellies. Oh my god, i cannot express how obliged i felt. A special thanks to her.
Anika Lipman★★★★★
I had an amazing stay at GHT Costa Brava & SPA! It gives you more than your money’s worth and, in my opinion, should definitely be a 4 star hotel. Staff were always friendly and helpful, the rooms are surprisingly luxurious, the pool area was fantastic, and I really enjoyed the food every day. The location is in a quieter but still accessible street in Tossa de Mar. I would highly recommend this hotel and definitely will be back!

We came for a long weekend mid July. The room was very comfortable and pretty spacious. The balcony overlooks quite a busy road so there's really no privacy but it's great for people watching. There are no USB charging sockets so remember to bring an adapter. The staff we all really lovely and helpful. We came over my birthday and they left a bottle of champagne in the room without us requesting it which was such a lovely touch. You are only 5 mins walk from the beach and there are loads of shops and restaurants nearby.

The hotel is good , the staff are very helpful , they have a great breakfast spread for the guests , the rooftop bar and swimming pool have beautiful view of the castle that's lit at night . The location is just a lane behind the beach road and access to a lot of beachside and Internal lane restaurants. The rooms are being upgraded . If you are booking here in the next few months , the terrace superior rooms are upgraded and look much nicer. On the other side that faces the road , They have a spacious balcony that ovelooks the street below where you can sit and watch the tourists stroll leisurely. Definitely value for money

Hotel was ok and girls at the reception are really really the best ( they were helpful and really friendly) , location is super, very close to the center snd 5 min from the beach. Yet lot of things not ok with the hotel hygiene, not a strong part unfortunately: - we found a cup with lipstick on it for over 2 days. Despite flagging it still took 2 days to be changed. This IMO is not acceptable for a 4 stars - corridor in 2nd floor has constant smell of sweat, rewlly unbearable - the room as a bad smell, likely given by the filters from the AC. Forthe rest all was good and rooms itself has everything needed. But hygiene makes the standard questionable for a 4 stars hotel

Lovely hotel in a great location. The bed was huge and so comfy. Friendly service and delicious breakfast. My partner was also surprised by a bottle of fizz and some chocolates left in our room for his birthday. We had a great stay and would definitely return.

I had a great stay in Hotel Delfin - would definitely visit again! The rooms are spacious and modern, the restaurant had a good range of breakfast and dinner options (even for a vegetarian), and the rooftop pool & bar is a really nice extra which sets Delfin apart from a lot of other hotels in the area. The staff were great too, putting up with my mangled Spanish and ignorance about dining etiquette!

Just completed a 7 night stay at this hotel. Good value visit, rooms basic but adequate, air conditioning isn’t the strongest but works, food included in with room great, didn’t use the pool or jacuzzis as went to the beach daily. For what we paid we were happy with the experience and just might come back.
Milica Dragovic★☆☆☆☆
The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The hygiene is highly questionable, and as for the air conditioning — it simply cannot cool the room, which is especially unbearable when the room is on the sunny side. I honestly have nothing positive to say about this stay.
Alice★★★☆☆
The hotel is about a 7-minute walk from the beach. The pool is very small and not well maintained, and the jacuzzi is neglected. The food is very good, but there are long queues at mealtimes, and you need to show your paper card each time. The restaurant is quite small. Rooms are oddly designed, with bathrooms not properly separated from the shower. Our shower was very poorly maintained, with mold on the tiles, which was unpleasant. Double rooms lack space for personal belongings, and housekeeping is poor, not keeping rooms clean or well cared for. Four stars for this hotel is definitely too much. The only thing worthy of four stars is the food, which was tasty.
Spy★★☆☆☆
Most of the staff were very nice, kind, and helpful — especially at the bar and in the restaurant. However, it was a bit annoying to show the room card with meal information every time. The reception staff were also friendly and helpful, except for Ms. Nastia, whose attitude was somewhat rude and unhelpful — making faces while talking to guests is really inappropriate. The cleaning staff should pay more attention to cleaning the rooms and bathrooms. Unfortunately, our room wasn’t properly cleaned during our 6-day stay — it wasn’t vacuumed, the bedding wasn’t changed, and we had to ask for fresh towels ourselves. The bathroom isn’t really separated from the room, and the shower was quite dirty, with moldy grout. Overall, cleanliness definitely needs improvement. Unfortunately, the bottom of the so-called large pool is very slippery, and the jacuzzi downstairs is poorly maintained — it’s basically rusty and neglected.
Rachel Sawdon★★★★★
Very modern style of hotel, may not be to everyone’s taste but we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was very good but during busy times in the dining room not such a pleasant experience, as queuing seemed to be disorganised. The swimming pool was dated and cleaning system really needed to be maintained a little more. Didn’t use because of this but the beaches were only about a 5minute walk away.

We had the best time here. The location is perfect to explore the old town, as well as close to the beach, yet quiet and beautiful. The room was great in terms of size, design and equipment. Loved the keyless entry system (you use a code). Breakfast was delicious with a range of sweet and hearty choices. And every single person on the team was delightful, as well. There are 2 rooftop terraces with views of the city and beach on the 3rd and 4th floor. Dog friendly. I wouldn't change a thing about this hotel & wish them lots of success!!
Thierry Oliva★★★★★
What a wonderful experience we had! Although we only stayed for one night, everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel was beautiful, and our room was spotless and comfortable. What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the exceptional staff. On our last morning, we missed breakfast due to jet lag. As we were checking out, the reception staff kindly offered to serve us breakfast anyway. They went above and beyond, filling our table with a variety of delicious local specialties for us to enjoy. Their generosity and hospitality made our stay unforgettable. We left feeling truly grateful and would gladly return in the future.
Rasmus★★★★☆
The lobby is nice. The people are great. The bed is comfy. The Churchbell is loud and even louder are the drunks at night on the street …which is not the hotels fault, but they kept us up. This is an old hostel turned modern and they did a great job, but it’s still going to feel rather on the 2 star hotel side than a 4 star hotel. Still better than 90% of the competitors in the under 100€ per night category.

This is one of my best hotel stay experiences. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The location is right in the middle of the old town directly adjacent to the church and a 2min walk to the beach. The best part is the service team. They are super nice, patient and go out of their way to help the guests. Faultless!

It is a really nice hotel. Great breakfast, really dog friendly. I never saw a hotel who cares about the dogs so much. We had a wonderful time here. The staffs are flexible and think out of the box. And most of them speaks English very well. The location of the hotel is also good. They have also a coffee machine. In the evening you can pay a euro and have a coffee on the rooftop and enjoy your time. In the beginning we wanted to stay only one day but we extended to 2 days even though we were paying at the same time in another hotel in La Garriga

The hotel is excellent. We stayed for 10 days, and the rooms are exactly as shown in the photos modern, renovated, and very clean Breakfast is excellent with a wide variety of options, and the staff are very friendly and helpful.. They also have a luggage room with a toilet and a shower, which is very convenient if you have a late flight but need to check out in the morning I would definitely stay here again 😊

Great hotel that will make your holidays fantastic. ✨Situated in a picturesque town Tossa de Mar with Medieval castle and marvellous buildings with narrow streets. It is 10 min walk to the beach. 🏖️According to National Geographic the beach is one of 25 best beaches in the world. 🥇This hotel provides clean , modern, comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff, super delicious and varied food . 🥂🍉🥑🥞🥓🍕🍣🍤🥗🍨Entertainment programme is also awesome. 💃Highly recommend it for your unforgettable vacation 🫶🏻

Recently had a room renovation and been super modernised. Room is modern and clean. Access to full smart TV and services (Netflix, Plex, Prime) with temp logins. (English enabled). The SPA is well worth booking into. Had a sports massage with therapist Genesis. An incredible experience. Really attentive to areas of pain and localised to them rather than providing a general massage experience. It was Fantastic. Can’t recommend enough.

My first solo trip from Ireland to Tossa de Mar. I've stayed in Hotel GHT Oasis Tossa and Spa for 4 nights and I couldn't recommend more 💯 Hotel is spotless , staff are extremely helpful and friendly, could not have felt more at ease. Especially Celia, she has been so kind and helpful throughout my time here, she is amazing at her job and more than happy to advise me on the local area. Thank you Celia 🙂 Definetly recommend and will be back again soon hopefully.

I highly recommend this hotel. I had the opportunity to be in it for the second time and every time I am very pleased. Clean rooms, well-kept interior, delicious breakfasts. I think one of the better hotels in the area. If you don't want to be disappointed, I think it's worth stopping here🙂

The location is fantastic if you don't have lots of bags. It's located in the pedestrian only part of town so you have to park a good distance away. They do have a closer spot you can use to drop off your stuff, but you still have to go up and down some stairs and cobblestones to get to it. The parking is also VERY tight. Once you're settled it's a great location to explore the town. Very clean, great service. I had the single room which was only OK to be honest. When compared to other single rooms I stayed in on my trip - this one was the tightest. Very little space to get around the bed, and nowhere really to put your bags. The bed itself was comfy enough, but creaked like crazy. I wanted to love the place as it was the most expensive of my trip by far - and I loved the location - just not so much the room.

What a beautiful place—everything went so smoothly. The location is perfect, tucked away in a charming little lane. (If you’ve got big suitcases, it might be a bit of a challenge, but that’s just part of Tossa de Mar’s charm.) Check-in was super easy—everything’s digital with a code, really convenient. They even provided still and sparkling water, which was a nice touch. We had the balcony room on the top floor, and the view from both the room and the terrace was just lovely. The room isn’t huge, but it’s just right. Strong water pressure, everything worked perfectly. We’re really glad we stayed here for the night! Highly recommend it 😍 If you’re driving, call them first! We arrived 20:00 so there was no parking anymore, had to park perhaps 10 mins away at a parking.

Pros: right next to the playa and castle and rondo. Cons: Tiny small rooms with zero place for your luggage. Shower is a built in the corner of the room a coffin. No refrigerator in the room. The air conditioner turns off on its own without your control. Breakfast says until eleven but they stop replenishment of lots of the food much earlier. As you can see from the photo when they cleaned my room they put my shoes on top of my suitcase which is unhygienic and uncouth. Verdict: Go elsewhere with your euros.

Great location, right next to the wall and a beach, you can connect your phone to the smart TV for Netflix. Only thing is.. the walls are paper thin, you can hear people walking up and down the stairs/chatting in the hallway, the wifi was out for a day and also the breakfast being $50 CAD for 4 days even though it was doll sized portions and no eggs (but VERY yummy nonetheless) wasn’t sure if it was worth it, then again there are no cafes nearby, and breakfast is 8-11 so you might as well buy it. Other than that the rooftop is beautiful as well as the room. Had a lovely time here I already miss it and would love to come back again 🙂

Beautiful and clean boutique hotel in the best part of the Historic Center. A minute walk from the beaches, castle, and many restaurants and cafés. The shared rooftop terrance looks directly at the castle and ocean — purchase a bottle of wine and enjoy the view at sunset. I will definitely return when in the area

Worst experience in many years! The hotel manager is completely incompetent. To his shame he shouted on three years old girl, that’s is totally inappropriate in any sense. The dinner lacks quality food. Half of the rooms have broken air conditioners. Choose other options to safe your vacation!

This is an incredible hotel! We decided to leave Barcelona a day early to head to the beach. We phoned and spoke with Tony who was super helpful and made our reservation as well as reserved parking for us. Tony made our stay. The hotel is so central and you can walk to everything. They have 2 pools, and a bar right by the pool. The front desk staff works so hard and does everything. They have private parking, which you have to reserve. They knew we were leaving for the airport in the morning and moved our car to right in front of the hotel to make our exit very easy and convenient. While the hotel is very simple, it super clean, and has all the basic amenities you need. It isn’t fancy, but seems like it draws a lot of locals. There was even live music at night. The staff made our stay! Can’t praise Tony enough! Thank you so much!!!

This hotel is nowhere near 4 stars – barely 2 at best! From the moment you walk in, there’s a strong smell of cigarettes everywhere, absolutely unbearable. The lobby has no air conditioning, even on the hottest days, making it feel like a sauna instead of a welcoming place. The pool is ridiculously small for the number of guests – always crowded and impossible to enjoy. The rooms are tiny, with barely any space to move, and the reception refuses to provide extra blankets when asked. Overall, the experience was terrible and disappointing in every possible way. This is definitely not a 4-star hotel, and I would never come back.

I am very disappointed. It is rated with four stars but his review are three stars. And I'm not sure about that. The rooms are decent, tidy and have everything you need for the basics. Apart from the fridge that doesn't work, it doesn't cool anything at all.As for the food, it's fine. But they don't know how to organize anything, they put all the guests in at the same time Because their dining hall is small. Of course, there are also pools that are nothing special. They're okay. But what is a big minus and that is their staff. Specifically, the hotel manager who is unkind and rude to guests. If you ask him for help don't expect them to help you. The kitchen staff as well as the maids are really wonderful. And unlike the manager, the others will help you or at least try. What is also bad is that they do not turn off the elevators when you carry heavy suitcases you can't carry them up the stairs they decide to turn them off.

The manager of the hotel was awful, he was unpleasant and when there were any problems he was unhappy and unwilling to help. Our towels weren’t changed on time and we had to ask multiple times to get new ones. We went as a bigger group and when ever we wanted to be together without music just talking he would make a problem. The staff altogether was unwelcoming. When we came our doors werent working and he acted as if it was our fault and was rude even though we just came and never entered our room we had to wait around an hour for them to fix it.

Tips for Choosing a Hotel Near Tossa de Mar Old Town

Before booking, it helps to understand a few practical realities about staying in or around the Vila Vella. The medieval core is compact, hilly, and largely car-free, which creates a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere but also shapes the kind of experience each hotel can offer. The following tips will help you match a property to your mobility needs, travel season, and overall expectations.

First, check the exact walking route from your hotel to the Old Town entrance, not just the straight-line distance. Some streets in the Sa Roqueta quarter are steep and cobbled, which can be challenging with wheeled luggage or after a long day of sightseeing. If you have mobility concerns, look for properties on the flatter streets near Platja Gran or along Avinguda de Catalunya, where access is smoother and taxis can drop you closer to the door.

Second, think carefully about parking before you arrive. Many hotels near the Old Town do not have private parking, and public lots fill quickly in July and August. If you are driving, contact the hotel in advance to ask about reserved spaces, nearby garages, or unloading zones. In low season, parking is much easier, but a little planning still saves you from circling narrow one-way streets with a full trunk.

Third, consider whether you want a sea view or a castle view. Rooms facing the bay often come with a premium price tag and the sound of waves, while rooms facing the old walls offer a more romantic, lantern-lit atmosphere at night. Both are wonderful, but the light and noise levels differ. If you are a light sleeper, a room facing an interior courtyard or a quiet side street may actually be the most restful choice.

Fourth, book well ahead for stays between June and September, especially if you want a specific room type or a property with only a handful of rooms. Tossa de Mar is a popular weekend destination for Barcelona residents, so Friday and Saturday nights can sell out weeks in advance. Travelling midweek or in May and October often yields better rates and a calmer experience while the weather remains pleasant.

Finally, embrace the rhythm of the Old Town by planning your days around the crowds. Even if you are staying a short walk away, visit the Vila Vella early in the morning or after the tour buses leave in the late afternoon. Your hotel’s location gives you a rare advantage: you can experience the ramparts, the lighthouse, and the quiet plazas at hours when day-trippers are absent, which transforms the entire visit.

Staying near Tossa de Mar’s Old Town is not simply about convenience; it is about access to a different pace of travel. The town rewards those who linger, who sit on a stone bench as the fishing boats return, and who walk the same paths that inspired artists like Marc Chagall. Choosing the right hotel allows you to step into that world from the moment you wake, rather than treating the historic quarter as a brief stop on a longer itinerary.

Whether you opt for a boutique hideaway inside the walls or a comfortable modern room a few streets away, the proximity to the Vila Vella will shape your experience of the Costa Brava. Take the time to match the property to your travel style, and you will leave with more than photographs: you will carry the memory of Tossa’s quiet, moonlit stones and the sound of the sea just beyond your window.
