12 Best Fast Food Spots in Arles

When hunger hits in Arles, the city’s fast food scene offers far more than generic burgers and fries. From Provençal specialties served at lightning speed to international flavors adapted for the local palate, there is a quick bite for every craving and budget. Whether you are exploring the Roman amphitheater or heading to the Camargue, knowing where locals grab a satisfying meal can save you time and disappointment. The best options balance speed, quality ingredients, and that unmistakable southern French character.

Arles is a compact city, which means most of the best fast food spots are within walking distance of the historic center. You can easily pair a quick lunch with sightseeing without losing half your day to a long, sit-down restaurant meal. Many of these places focus on fresh, locally sourced produce, even when the format is casual. That Mediterranean influence shows up in the bread, sauces, and side dishes.

The local definition of fast food often includes kebab shops, tacos, paninis, and bakeries offering hot sandwiches. You will also find American-style burger joints that have been given a French twist with regional cheeses and artisanal buns. Vegetarians and families with picky eaters will not struggle here, as the variety is surprisingly broad for a town of this size.

Because Arles attracts a steady stream of tourists, some fast food spots near the main squares can be hit or miss. The best approach is to look for places with a steady line of locals during lunch hours. A short queue is usually a sign of freshness and reliability. Prices are generally reasonable, with most meals falling between eight and fifteen euros.

This guide focuses on spots that consistently deliver flavor without a long wait. Each recommendation has been chosen for its reputation, location, and ability to satisfy a specific craving. You will find everything from a crispy falafel wrap to a juicy smash burger made with Camargue beef.

Here are the best fast food spots in Arles right now.

This is the third time I've ordered from you, and the third time I've been very disappointed. I let it go with the excuse that you had just opened, but this is becoming unacceptable. The order was a disaster; the tacos were tiny and barely filled. For a €40 order, I expected better. I certainly won't be going back.
abdelmoumaim belhaji★★☆☆☆
Seriously, the tacos were a disaster. €12.90 for something that was 60% sauce, 20% fries, and 20% meat. There was more sauce than meat, and I ordered double meat.
Hadji 10★★★★★
Honestly, a fantastic experience at O’Tacos! The tacos are generously filled, delicious, and prepared quickly. Special mention to Adil at the register: very welcoming, friendly, and professional – a real pleasure. I highly recommend it, and I'll be back!

A place can only be this dirty, neglected, and overpriced. Even a small bottle of water costs 3.30 euros. A mini hamburger is 8.80 euros. The tables are filthy, the staff gave us incomplete menus, and we had to queue repeatedly. The drinks had turned into flat water from waiting... It's a disgrace, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Even one star is too much.

I arrived in Arles late on Sunday and needed somewhere to eat. Options were limited as most things were closed. Burger King was open until 1:00am, they had vegan options, it was relatively cheap 8.80€ for a burger, fries, and drink. Also really fast, it's been years since I've had fast food, so I forgot how quick it is. That being said, it's fast food, so you're not getting an artisan vegan burger for these prices. But good to have the option late on a Sunday night.

Cca 50 mins nobody clean this. I orderd Burger and icecream ( delivery later ). Stuff brings me burger and take out sign with number. How they know, to where they had to deliver the icecream? Of course they didnt know. I had to go to counter and ask for. But worst was this trash everywhere around. Dirty tables, windows, floor. One big, big Sh... Sorry for this word, but fits the best for this.
Mateo★☆☆☆☆
Dont visit. Food was a disaster. Fires cold, plastic in our burgers. The chicken must have been directly from the freezer. Even the coke tested odd. I couldn't finish it and that comes from a coke enthusiasts. A disgrace to bugerking and the reputation they have built.

Some food was cold. Service is good. I sat next to playground. It's too noisy from.the kids playing there. Better sit downstairs if you want yo have quite time.
Christoffer Isip★★★★☆
Surprised that they don't sell the original KFC chicken. Disappointing. No staff speaks English here so prepare your French. 😄 Toilets can be cleaner and hand soap dispensers need to be refilled more frequently. I like the new cup design.
J. L.★☆☆☆☆
I had the craving for some KFC well seasoned crispy chicken, so I went in and ordered 5 pieces of fried chicken. After paying the same price I'd pay for two entire raw chickens on a supermarket, I sit down on a sticky table that smelled like a dirty floor mop, and after a couple of minutes a worker brang 5 soggy reheated bland pieces of dry chicken breast. I returned them and asked if they could give me something freshly cooked. They said yes, and five minutes later I got 5 pieces of not-so-soggy bland pieces of dry chicken breast. If that was really fresh, then I guess the KFC I remember just doesn't exist anymore. Finally, when I finished my meal, not only it was expected from me to bring the shelf to the trash can, but also to sort the trash in different containers. What am I paying for exactly? I'm never going back to KFC.

Bought the tacos, got home, opened the box…utterly disappointing. How is this a taco? Refund please!

Good food - I really enjoyed my lunch for €13. Seemly cooked by them and then in a self service format. About 1/3 of the price of the other local cafes, albeit for a simpler format with smaller portion sizes.

Food comes in sealed jars with hot food heated up piping hot. Dishes are tasty, decent-sized and reasonably priced. I had a salad, Bolognese lasagna and dessert.

This is my favourite café in Old Arles. Very relaxing, open, and bright, with lovely warm cozy indoor seating, excellent and witty baristas (one of whom even kindly laughed at my bad jokes). And excellent coffee, too. They have a lovely broad selection of vegetarian and vegan food too.

Lovely staff, perfect pasta, and complimentary fizzy or flat ice cold water to fill up bottles. They had GF, lactose free, vegetarian and vegan options. Very good prices compared to places around.

Tips for Choosing the Best Fast Food in Arles

Before you walk into the first place you see, a few local insights will help you eat better and avoid tourist traps. Arles has a strong food culture, and even its casual eateries reflect that pride. These practical tips will help you navigate menus, timing, and expectations like a local.

Check the lunch rush hours. Most fast food spots in Arles get extremely busy between 12:15 and 1:30 PM on weekdays. If you can eat slightly earlier or later, you will get fresher food and faster service without the pressure of a crowded counter.

Look for regional ingredients on the menu. The best quick-service restaurants in Arles proudly mention Camargue beef, local goat cheese, or tapenade. If a burger or sandwich highlights these products, it is usually a sign that the owner cares about quality beyond just speed.

Ask for the sauce on the side if you are unsure. French fast food, especially kebabs and tacos, can be heavy on white sauces or spicy harissa. Requesting sauce on the side lets you control the flavor and prevents a soggy sandwich if you plan to walk and eat.

Do not skip the bakeries. Some of the fastest and most affordable meals in Arles come from a boulangerie. A warm baguette stuffed with ham, butter, and cornichons or a slice of pissaladière can be more satisfying than a greasy burger and costs half the price.

Confirm closing times in the afternoon. Many small fast food spots close between 2:30 PM and 6:00 PM. If you plan a late lunch or early dinner, check the hours beforehand or you may find yourself limited to tourist-oriented places with inflated prices.

Arles proves that fast food does not have to mean sacrificing taste or connection to the region. The city’s casual dining scene is a direct reflection of its Mediterranean roots, where even a quick bite is treated with care. Whether you grab a kebab near the train station or a burger on a shaded terrace, you are participating in a modern Provençal food culture that values both time and flavor.

The next time you find yourself with a rumbling stomach between museum visits or before a train to Marseille, use this list as your starting point. Step away from the most crowded tourist square, follow the scent of grilled meat and fresh bread, and you will likely discover a fast food spot that feels like a true Arles original.
