Dining out with the family in Cannes should feel like a pleasure, not a logistical puzzle. While the city is famous for its glamorous gastronomy and Michelin-starred terraces, many parents know the reality of finding a spot that welcomes energetic toddlers, picky eaters, and tired teenagers. The good news is that Cannes offers a surprisingly warm and diverse culinary scene that extends far beyond the red carpet. From sun-drenched beach clubs to cozy bistros tucked away on cobblestone side streets, there is a perfect table for every kind of family dynamic.
The key to a successful meal out with children often comes down to atmosphere and flexibility. You want a venue where the background noise is lively enough to mask a sudden giggle fit, but not so loud that you cannot hear each other speak. You need menus that balance local French sophistication with simple, recognizable favorites that kids will actually eat. Most importantly, you need staff who view families not as an inconvenience, but as valued guests deserving of a warm, patient welcome.
Cannes is a city of distinct neighborhoods, each offering a different vibe for your dining experience. The historic Le Suquet district provides a charming, winding backdrop perfect for an evening stroll before dinner, while the area around the Croisette offers stunning sea views that can keep little ones mesmerized. Venturing slightly away from the main tourist hubs often reveals hidden gems where the locals eat, providing a more authentic experience and, often, better value for a family budget.
Beyond the food itself, practical considerations can make or break a family meal. Easy access with a stroller, the availability of high chairs, and the speed of service are just as important as the quality of the sauce. French dining can sometimes be a lengthy affair, which is wonderful for adults, but a challenge for younger children. The best family-friendly spots understand this, often pacing the meal appropriately or providing a welcoming outdoor space where kids can move around safely.
This guide focuses on restaurants that truly understand the art of hosting families. They are places where you can relax, enjoy the flavors of the French Riviera, and create happy holiday memories without the stress. We have considered not just the food, but the overall experience, ensuring that both the adults and the little ones leave the table smiling.
Here is our curated selection of the best places to eat in Cannes when you have the whole crew in tow.

Had a wonderful night with out friends. Food is good and the service was friendly. The atmosphere was relaxing and romantic. They even offered us a really sweet Moroccan tea to end the night. Baby and pet friendly too. Definitely would recommend 🥰

We popped in without a reservation and we were greeted with smiles and a quick table arranged for five. The food was amazing from the steak, to the fish, salmon, pizza & chicken burger. The bonus was the owner was a Vin Diesel look alike 🙂 As it was a family run business the customer service was outstanding 😊

An amazing fully halal restaurant in Cannes. The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant adds to the whole experience. There is a good selection of food to choose from and the portion sizes are very good. The mojito was refreshing without being too bitter. This place is a great alternative to avoid the crowds in central Cannes, but still not too far from the centre. The staff are friendly and were patient with our indecisiveness when it came to our seats lol. Thank you again 🙂

Really cute and stylish restaurant, lovely staff and great food. Very relaxed. No alcohol though (not a criticism but just to make people aware!)

Absolutely love this restaurant! Great food, great service with a smile, generous portions, delicious food. I visited two days in a row! I could not leave Cannes without trying the Pistachio Tiramisu! Loved every bite.
New restaurant with indoor and al fresco dining! Beautiful decor. So much color and texture. You know it's a high quality restaurant by the quality of the menu! Haha. My point is that they have not missed any detail to offer an exceptional dining experience.
I highly recommend it.
They do birthday celebrations with class - no off-key servers singing. I was impressed with the birthday music and sparklers served with dessert. I definitely want to come back for my birthday!
Highly recommend it all!

What an amazing surprise!
The place looks very modest from the outside, but the food is absolutely outstanding. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the burger was honestly the best burger I have ever had in my life.
The service was warm, friendly, and genuine. We were even offered a complimentary rum, which was a lovely touch and made us feel truly welcome.
A cozy, unpretentious place with incredible food, great hospitality, and a relaxed atmosphere. Without a doubt one of the most memorable meals we’ve had in France.
Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience. Made a reservation and was sat promptly. Ordered the smoked duck as an appatizer which was delicate and delicious.
Had the Black Sail burger which was awesome! Perfectly cooked and presented. My wife had the Foersterie which she say was also awesome.
My 4 yr old son had a poulet de pané from the petite pirate menu (fried chicken nugget). Stole a bite and wish I had ordered one myself!
Good beer selection with lots of cocktails to choose from. Highly recommended!!

Best burgers hands down. Nothing compares to their burgers, steak & lamb chops. Simple menu, but great food and ambience. Service was excellent and the staff was very attentive to our needs. Went above and beyond our expectations. Would come back here every week if I lived in Cannes.

Hands down one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The shrimps and calamari as starters were perfect after a long day at the beach. Fried to perfection, full of flavor, and perfect texture. The Black-Sails burger with a side of sweet fries is the combination for me. Full of flavor, portions that satisfies the hunger, and cooked to perfection. Service was friendly and quick. Highly recommended, definitely coming back.

We went out of our way to visit this burger restaurant while in Cannes, and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience.
We waited at least 25 minutes before anyone came to our table. We were actually about to leave when a server finally came over to take our order. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, so there didn't seem to be any reason for such a long wait.
We simply asked for a plain double cheeseburgers,to share but the chef refused, saying, "Who would pay €30 for a plain burger?" That really isn't the point – if that's what a customer wants and is happy to pay for, it shouldn't be an issue.
To make matters worse, the restaurant wasn't especially clean or immaculate either.
Overall, the customer service was poor, the attitude was unwelcoming, and the whole experience was disappointing. Sadly, we wouldn't return or recommend it.we understand business so if they'd said minimum 50/60 euro ot wouldn't have been a problem.

It was lovely, with great service and excellent food. We went on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was quite bustling, which added to the lively atmosphere. The food was incredibly fresh, and the décor really makes you feel like you’ve been transported to the Mediterranean. Prices are on the higher end, but the quality and experience make it well worth it.

I was looking for a quick lunch for one and this place did come up on Google. When I arrived I thought it looked very small and understated place, not my usual choice but I thought I would give it a go.
The service was very quick and friendly. I ordered their seafood pasta and it was delicious and my plate was completely empty in need time.
I would be more than happy to return.

There's several Italian restaurants in south of France but only a few have the food quality to match good Italian food. This place will not disappoint. I wish I would have gone back for the pizza because it looked amazing. we only tried the pizza flatbread with our Italian pasta which was terrific.

We had a very enjoyable dinner at Cheer Mamma in Cannes. My partner ordered the La Mielleuse pizza, which was flavorful with a perfectly crisp crust. I chose the spaghetti alle vongole, generously filled with clams and a delicious, well-balanced sauce—I could have easily enjoyed a second serving. The atmosphere was vibrant, with an open kitchen, good music, and a lively buzz that made the evening feel special. Service was friendly and added to the overall positive experience. A solid 4 stars.

We have only tried 2 dishes but they were made to perfection and the atmosphere is just wonderful.
You can tell that this family owned restaurant puts all their passion and dedication into giving their guests the best Provence experience. I have huge respect and admiration for them.
We had the red wine beef and the quail.
Thank you Nicholas😊

We had a great lunch here the other day. The food was lovely, and it’s located in a great spot in the old town. The servers were super friendly and accommodating. We had multiple members of our group with allergies, specifically dairy, and they had multiple options and were able to tell us exactly what was in each dish due to fresh produce being sourced from the market each morning. You can tell there is a lot of love and pride around their product and service. Overall, a great find, would recommend!
Sherry Yao★★★★★
This restaurant is just 100 meters away from the Cannes Sign viewing platform — we found it on a search right after checking out the landmark, and it was such a lucky surprise! Specializing in traditional French cuisine, it has a history of over 40 years, which really shows in the food.
The waiter recommended the Terrine as an appetizer, and it was absolutely amazing — rich in meat flavor with zero fishy or gamey taste. For mains, we ordered the lamb chop: first grilled then braised, it was so flavorful, and it came as a whole, thick piece, not the thin slice you get at most other restaurants. We also tried the braised squab pot; the meat was tender, smooth, and packed with flavor, plus the plating was beautiful.
The interior is rustic, cozy, and full of historic charm. All in all, this was an incredibly stunning dinner — highly recommended!
Note: They change menu seasonally, so be ready to explore new dishes!

This restaurant doesn’t quite live up to the hype and reviews I have seen. Of course, taste is subjective, but I have had better food, service and overall experience elsewhere in France.
The food was okay, but the service felt a bit unorganised and not very attentive. Drinks were forgotten and the staff seemed rushed. Maybe there just weren’t enough people working that evening. It makes a difference when a full restaurant has enough staff to keep things smooth.

THE MOST AUTHENTIC, INCREDIBLE FRENCH FOOD!!!
My husband and I had the most exquisite 3 course meal today. Every single part of the meal was so delicious, all cooked with beautiful, fresh produce.

Lovely place, on the quieter side of Cannes., which i really liked., as it was easier to breath and enjoy without the crowds hovering over in the hot weather. The pizzas were delicious and the pasta with prawns was also really good!.. service was great and so was the ambiance.

Stopped in while staying near the old town and had a really enjoyable dinner. The Margherita pizza and Aperol Spritz special for €20 was a great value, and both were surprisingly good. The pizza had a nicely blistered crust, fresh ingredients, and hit the spot after a long day exploring Cannes. Drinks were well made, service was friendly, and the harbor setting made for a perfect casual evening. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for solid pizza and cocktails near Le Suquet.
Majo Jara★★★★★
I came here on a Sunday afternoon, and it wasn't crowded. I ordered a Margherita with Pancetta, and it was amazing! The crust, the flavors, and all the other ingredients were perfectly on point. I added the spicy sauce, which is handmade by the restaurant, and it truly elevated the pizza.
I highly recommend this place! The location is beautiful and cozy, situated right in front of the sea. The staff were super nice and friendly. Totally recommend this spot!

An absolute hidden gem in Cannes!
As an Italian ironic as it is, I had to travel all the way to Cannes to eat one of the best Neapolitan pizzas of my life! It was fresh, absolutely delicious, and – thanks to the high-quality ingredients – not heavy on the stomach at all the next day. Fantastic! Unfortunately, I discovered this place way too late, on my very last evening. It looks a bit unassuming from the outside, but the products are absolute top-tier. Next time I'm in the area, a stop here is an absolute must!

the staff is really nice and open to tourists, they speak great english. the food is amazing and the dessert it’s too sweet, it’s perfect. you can also feel the alcohol in the cocktails and they fill them to the brim. the food is around 35 euros and the drinks around 15 euros. i had the fish that was cooked to perfection, the sauce was incredible and it paired well with the fish and the mashed potatoes. the tarte was a bit small but every bite made it worth it, it was the perfect amount for a sweet treat at the end of your meal.

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was exceptionally delicious! especially the steak and the pasta, both were perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The wine and cocktails were excellent as well and paired beautifully with the meal.
The prices were very reasonable for the quality and overall experience. What made the evening even better was the service: the staff was attentive, genuinely friendly, and made us feel very comfortable and welcome throughout the night.
We would definitely come back and highly recommend this place.

Fast, pretty — but something feels off🤔
Cocktails and food arrived quickly, presentation was nice. But the pace never slows down — tables are cleared and reset almost before guests have stood up, and that restless energy lingers throughout the meal.
The pizza is decent, though the dough could use more character.
Left feeling heavier than expected for a casual dinner. With a bit more patience in the kitchen, this place could be genuinely good🙌🏼
Julee Schmitzer★★★★★
Very delicious food. There were no vegan options on the menu but they were happy to make me pasta arrabiata, which was amazing. The restaurant setting was very central in Canne & had great outside seating. Our server Natalia was very attentive & helpful.

Perfect service from Fabio and Josh. It’s our second night eating at Ragazzi. It’s one of the best restaurants in Cannes for sure. The food came fast and was perfectly flavored. I can recommend this place 11 out of 10! I‘ll come here again when we are in Cannes and will recommend it to my friends. Mersi and Gracie.

The attitude of the staff members is really bad and no one shows nice customer service. One of the male staff members kept on sigh’ing and rolling his eyes when we talked to him. He did not speak english either so he couldent really understand us well. The food that we ordered was not good. I ordered a burger and the meat was raw, clearly not cooked well enough. Atmosphere was nice and calm, the seats could be more comfortable. I will not visit again.

The best place in the area! much nicer than any other beach restaurant in Cannes, here you get amazing service and the most beautiful food. The team is also fabulous, Sacha looked after us the whole day like we was a member of the family! Dzmitry Ihnatovich★★★☆☆
First, the positives. The location and overall concept are interesting. The cocktails and steak tartare were delicious, and while the chocolate dessert was not quite what we expected, our child enjoyed the sorbet and was happy with it.
Now, regarding the service. I still find it difficult to get used to restaurants that require guests to order a minimum number of dishes depending on the seating arrangement (although I understand the reasoning behind it). However, in this restaurant, the staff made me feel like a second-class customer.
It is obvious that guests with reservations are given priority, and that’s understandable, but there is no need to make it so apparent.
To begin with, it was strange that only one waiter was taking food orders. We had to wait quite a while for him to come to our table, apparently because we were last in line. Fine — he eventually took our order. But then he went to complain to the manager that we had ordered only one dish. The manager then came over to explain the restaurant’s rules to us and, as he put it, “forgave” us for the first time and allowed us to stay.
The staff also seemed eager to clear away our cutlery as quickly as possible. The most uncomfortable moment came when a large group arrived and the manager was trying to find seats for them. He pointed at our table and quite obviously told them that they could take it as soon as it became available. After that, members of the group kept looking over at us, apparently waiting for us to finish and leave.
It is disappointing that what could otherwise be a pleasant establishment chooses to take advantage of its popularity and treat guests differently depending on their perceived value.
Needless to say, I will not be returning.
Jialu Zhu★★★★★
Classic dishes done to perfection. We stopped here on the last day of our trip, which made for a great send-off. Staff was friendly and let us sit down 15 minutes before they actually opened. We had a well-marinated chicken, juicy and tender, as well as a nice steak tartare, very crispy fries, and a glass of red wine. Oh, and of course, the entire time you’re sitting right by the ocean. What’s not to love? 😊
Madison Plummer★★★★☆
This place was right outside our apartment so we came here a few times. The food was good and the location couldn’t be better. However the service was not friendly and you get very little for your money. For breakfast there is only one option, which is a homemade croissant, scrambled eggs, watermelon, juice, and a hot drink for €12. Every time I asked a question or needed anything the staff seemed annoyed, but the croissant was amazing.

After a walk down the Croissette we were ready for lunch. The L'Assiette Provencale was not busy, but we were fairly late, at 1340. We had grilled poulpe and assiette du pecheur, which were both excellent, as were the house wines. Of special note was the 'soup' portion of the assiette du pecheur. Was happy to have plenty of pain to soak in it. A very pleasant lunch.

Unassuming place close to the promenade… but wait to start eating!
Please ask the waiter for traditional Provençal options either house wine pairing ; everything is home made.
Expect an explosion of flavors in your mouth!
We couldn’t try all the desserts, have to return for Pavlova and crepe!
Highly recommended hidden ( in plain sight) gem!

An amazing Greek restaurant in downtown Cannes. Randomly were looking to have dinner in the center and found Parthenopi and was pleasantly surprised. The food taste amazing and the quality and presentation was very nice. The staff were super friendly and recommend the dishes based on your choices. They serve both fish and meat and the fish was super tasty. They have variety of nice starters to share and were amazing. The restaurant is not particularly cheap but considering the area is quite understandable. Definitely recommended to try out.

Great Greek food and definitely worth a visit! The staff were really friendly. Even though they were almost out of chicken, they checked for us and managed to prepare two chicken dishes. We really appreciated it and had a great experience!

A genuine hidden gem in Cannes. Stella looked after us and from the moment we sat down she and her family made us feel completely at home. The warmth here is the real thing, not the polished kind you get at the bigger spots along the Croisette. You can tell this is a proper family-run place where they actually care that you leave happy.
The food was also phenomenal! Everything was hearty and clean at the same time, which is a hard balance to strike. The flavours were bright and authentic, clearly made from proper recipes and fresh ingredients rather than churned out for the tourist crowd. The moussaka was rich and comforting, the hummus silky and full of flavour, and every plate arrived looking beautiful and tasting even better. Generous portions too, so we left thoroughly stuffed and very happy.
We came with our toddler and felt so welcome the entire time, which isn’t always a given. If you want authentic Greek food and people who genuinely treat you like family, this is the place to come in Cannes. We’ll absolutely be back.

A hidden gem in the heart of Cannes ❤️ This is the most friendly, family-run restaurant, where food is life and good food is guaranteed. We were welcomed like family and treated to the best food, cooked by people who clearly care about what they do. Tucked down a side street away from the tourist restaurants, this place is absolute first class - the seafood alone puts many restaurants to shame, and yes, it's Greek! We even bought the olive oil they cook with, it's that good. We've been visiting Cannes for 5 years and only just discovered this hidden gem. Will we be back? Absolutely. Perfection ❤️

I don’t want to be unfair, because the staff were genuinely attentive and helpful. When a few men kept bothering us, the team reacted quickly and handled the situation professionally, which I really appreciated.
However, I didn’t really enjoy the overall atmosphere. The crowd wasn’t quite what I expected, and because there is another beach club next door, the music from both venues mixes together, making it difficult to relax or enjoy the ambiance. The food was ok

My whole experience at la cocotte was amazing, from the food to the ambience to the service. I had attieke with chicken and it was the best meal I’ve ever had! The restaurant was really well decorated, the playlist was great. Manuela the owner was so accomodating and understanding, even though we came close to closing time she still let us seat and enjoy her wonderful restaurant. If you’re in Cannes, make sure to stop by!

This has been one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve traveled all over the world, and I can honestly say this restaurant delivered some of the best food, service, and hospitality I’ve ever experienced.
From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond. Even when a few people in our group arrived later, the team happily created custom salads for them and made sure everyone felt taken care of. Every detail reflected genuine care and exceptional hospitality.
The food was outstanding, the service was impeccable, and the overall experience was unforgettable. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend making this a stop—you won’t regret it.
A special shout-out to William who took incredible care of us. Thank you to the entire team for making this such a memorable evening. We’ll definitely be back!

The food was top tier, fresh, anointed, and will bless your taste buds and whole spirit. Customer service and accommodations were great too! When I say this is THEE BEST food in Cannes, France, trust me it is. I was able to visit two times while enjoying myself at the 2025 Cannes Festival this year. Each time I came to eat, I was not disappointed! I would give this place 10/10. Will come back just to visit and eat food here lol 😆.

We visited this restaurant during a trip to Cannes, having found it through an online search.
The place didn’t disappoint: a warm and very polite welcome, a clean toilet, and the food… what can I say? Delicious! It’s a shame we didn’t get the chance to go back, because it really is well worth a visit.
This restaurant doesn’t charge a service charge or even for water, and you only need to order one dish per person as the portions are very generous. As a result, the three of us spent exactly €50 and had a divine meal.
Highly recommended, and a warm hello to the young man who welcomed us.

We were originally going to La Cave but found it closed. We randomly stumbled into this restaurant and let me tell you— best decision ever. This is a hidden gem run by the loveliest couple. Food was FINGERLICKING GOOD. We had the vegetarian option (in it the goat cheese with honey on toasted bread 10/10), the grandfather (duck with green beans and mushrooms), and chicken skewers. Everything was delicious, delightful, and the portions were hella generous. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting an amazing experience and legit amazing french cuisine in Cannes.

We had an amazing French Bistro meal with homemade sauces and meats. Saw several customers turned away because they had run out of fresh ingredients- always a great sign the food will deliver, and it did.
One of our favorite meals in France (2 week trip) and certainly much easier on the wallet than most.

We were walking in this small street and we found this little French restaurant. We liked the menu for 2 persons ( € 25,)
Essential Tips for a Smooth Family Meal in Cannes
To make your dining experiences even more enjoyable, a little local knowledge goes a long way. The rhythm of a day in the South of France is unique, and understanding it can help you avoid crowds and tired meltdowns. These practical tips are designed to help you navigate the Cannes restaurant scene with confidence, ensuring every meal is a highlight of your trip rather than a hurdle.
-
Embrace the Earlier Seating: French families often eat later, but restaurants are usually quieter and more relaxed for an early dinner. Aim to arrive between 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM. You will often get faster service, more attentive staff, and a less crowded dining room before the main evening rush begins around 8:30 PM or 9:00 PM.
-
Leverage the Lunch Menu (Formule): Dining at lunchtime is the smartest way to eat well on a budget in Cannes. Many upscale restaurants offer a "formule" or "menu du jour"—a fixed-price lunch menu that is significantly cheaper than their à la carte dinner options. It is a fantastic way to sample high-quality French cuisine without the premium evening price tag.
-
Check for Outdoor Space: Before booking or walking in, quickly assess the terrace or outdoor seating area. A spacious terrace is invaluable for families. It gives children a bit more freedom, provides natural entertainment for people-watching, and makes it easier to manage a stroller without navigating tight indoor spaces.
-
Don’t Hesitate to Ask for a "Menu Enfant": While many of the restaurants on our list have dedicated children’s menus, it is not always a given in France. However, most kitchens are very accommodating. Do not be shy about asking if they can prepare a simple dish like a plain grilled chicken breast with pasta or a plate of pommes frites (fries) even if it is not listed on the menu.
-
Plan Around the Beach: If you are spending the day at a beach club or public beach, consider having your main meal at lunchtime while you are already out. This allows you to return to your accommodation for a lighter, simpler evening meal, avoiding the potential for late-night hunger meltdowns and keeping the day’s rhythm relaxed and low-pressure.
Exploring the culinary landscape of Cannes with your family is an adventure worth savoring. The city’s restaurants offer a wonderful opportunity to introduce children to the joys of fresh Mediterranean ingredients, from ripe tomatoes and olives to simply prepared fish. By choosing the right establishment and planning your timing, you transform a simple meal into a cherished part of your Riviera experience.
Ultimately, the best family-friendly restaurant is one where you feel comfortable, welcomed, and well-fed. Cannes, for all its glitz, is also a town of warm hospitality and genuine culinary passion. With this guide in hand, you are perfectly equipped to find those special spots that will have your family talking about the delicious memories long after the vacation ends.
