12 Best Coffee Shops Near Torre del Oro

Sitting just a few steps from the Guadalquivir River, Torre del Oro is one of Seville’s most recognizable landmarks. This 13th-century watchtower has watched over the city’s maritime history for centuries, and today it anchors a lively riverside district that blends old-world charm with modern energy. For visitors exploring the area, the streets radiating from the tower offer more than just museums and monuments — they also hide some of the city’s most inviting coffee spots.

The neighborhood around Torre del Oro is a natural starting point for anyone spending the day in central Seville. Whether you are arriving from the nearby Puerta de Jerez, walking along the Arenal quarter, or heading toward the Triana bridge, you will find a surprising variety of cafés within a short stroll. From traditional Spanish breakfast counters to specialty roasters and quiet patios, the area rewards those who pause for a proper coffee break.

Seville’s coffee culture has evolved rapidly in recent years. While the classic café con leche and toasted bread with tomato remain breakfast staples, a new wave of specialty coffee shops has introduced single-origin beans, alternative brewing methods, and carefully designed interiors. This blend of tradition and innovation is especially visible near the river, where historic buildings now house modern espresso bars and artisan roasters.

Finding a good coffee shop in a heavily touristed area can be tricky. Many places near major landmarks prioritize speed over quality, serving bitter espresso or pre-packaged pastries to visitors in a hurry. However, the streets around Torre del Oro still hold plenty of authentic options where locals linger over a mid-morning coffee or remote workers set up laptops for a few quiet hours. The key is knowing which side streets to explore and which places value the craft of coffee.

This guide focuses on practical recommendations within easy walking distance of Torre del Oro. Each spot has been selected for a combination of coffee quality, atmosphere, location, and consistency. You will find options for a quick espresso at the bar, a relaxed sit-down breakfast, a refreshing cold brew in summer, or a quiet corner to read or work. The goal is to help you make the most of your time near the river without wasting energy on mediocre coffee.

Seville’s climate also shapes the coffee experience. During the hot months, air-conditioned interiors and shaded terraces become essential, while winter calls for warm, cozy spaces with fresh pastries and strong espresso. Many of the cafés listed here adapt well to both seasons, offering indoor seating, outdoor tables, and a welcoming atmosphere year-round. Because the area around Torre del Oro is flat and walkable, you can easily combine a coffee stop with a visit to the tower, a river walk, or a stroll through the old town.

Below is a curated list of the best coffee shops near Torre del Oro, organized by their distance from the tower and their unique appeal. Each entry includes a short description of what makes the place worth visiting, along with the type of coffee experience you can expect.

Such a good cafe, highly recommended. Ended up going here 4-6 times over 3 days because their coffee is SO GOOD! Lovely area to catch up, have a drink and meet new people as well. The staff was kind enough to share some exotic funky beans they had and it was experimental and so unique ♥️

One of the best specialty coffee shops I’ve ever visited. The quality of the beans is exceptional, and you can truly tell how much knowledge and care the team puts into every cup. The baristas are incredibly skilled, and even a simple espresso is made with such precision and attention to detail that you can really taste the quality of the coffee. What I especially love about MUY COFFEE is their deep understanding and appreciation of specialty coffee. Every visit feels like a chance to experience coffee at its best. I honestly found myself looking forward to waking up every morning because I knew I was going to start my day here. MUY COFFEE became one of the highlights of my time in Seville, and I’m so grateful I found this place. Highly recommended for anyone who truly loves great coffee. 한국인 분들 그냥 묻고 따지지 말고 이쪽으로 오세요 세비야를 통틀어서 스페인 전체에서 여기가 제일 맛있는 거 같애요. 산미있는 에스프레소 ..최고

My favorite coffee shop in the area. It has a relaxed, laid-back vibe, a friendly owner and team, and genuinely delicious coffee. The space is small, but it’s been used really well, with a casual, thoughtful setup. They also play great music, which adds to the atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable, and they even sell their own coffee beans.

Went twice during my quick stay. Had a batch brew that was dialed in—delicate with floral notes and a some fruity vibes! Came back for a cappuccino and it was delicious. They take their coffee seriously and combined with the great vibes and friendly service I would definitely recommend this. It is an authentic specialty coffee shop that anyone into coffee would appreciate.

Awesome coffeeshop! Had a great V60, and a Flat white. The owners were super nice, and very friendly! Made steamed milk for our daughter who really liked it as well. Would very much recommend if you're into speciality coffee.

Excellent specialty coffee in the heart of Seville. The cortado was perfectly balanced. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, and a great place to start the day before exploring the city. Highly recommended!

If the coffee is good, the coffee is good. And here the coffee is good. From an experienced coffee consumer, I enjoyed my coffee here very much. I’ve drank coffee from all over the world. The milk here nicely frothed. Taste is very good. Order to your taste preferences. Big or small, which milk, how many shots. Whatever suits you. They also have many different kinds of pastries, cookies and cakes. I have not tried them yet, but they all look great. Also the woman who was working was very kind, and helpful. Great service!

Slightly slow service, but the quality of the matcha made it worth the wait. It was a vibrant green, smooth, and made without sweeteners. We also heard the coffee is excellent.

Muy Rio Coffee just opened today and they’re serving serious specialty coffee (espresso based and filter, beans from Ineffable which is a renowned specialty roaster from Sevilla), and some non coffee options such as hot chocolate, matcha and chai lattes, with some very well crafted bakes, sandwiches, granola, and overnight oats. Friendly and hospitable folks running the place and is a great place if you need a solid cup of coffee.

We’re in Seville for 3 nights and came across Café Nina — such a lovely find! The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was fresh and hot. This coffee was at most acceptable however, I personally will not return. I ordered a large Cappuchino for 3,80 € (Jan. 2026) - easily a rather elevated price but one notices that this place get frequented by tourist who look for "something special" and don't mind paying higher prices. However, the Coffee tasted quite watery like flavoured brown water with good temperatured milk foam. Nothing more and nothing less.....there are many more places in Sevilla with better coffee and a better value for money.
Vancy★★★★★
The cappuccino was flavorful and full-bodied. It’s a tiny cafe, mainly focused on to-go orders. Since it’s sometimes not easy to find great coffee places in Seville, this spot is a real gem. Anyone who truly loves really good coffee should definitely visit this place!
James Maurice★★★★★
If you love your independent coffee shops that do coffee well then come here. Love to try different coffee shops wherever I visit, but after one visit here, I didnt need go elsewhere. Superb coffee and great service. Get your caffeine fix here!

Great strong coffee! Got the iced latte. No flavors available though
Kiki Leahy★★★☆☆
Similar experience to other reviews- for the price, the quality was not there. The coffee I was served was over extracted and watery. For the price and specialty vibe, I would have expected higher quality tuning of the beans from the barista. Fine if you don’t really care about coffee…

Absolutely love this spot! The smoothies are delicious and super refreshing, the sandwiches are made perfectly, and the açai bowls are fresh, flavorful, and beautifully put together. Everything on the menu feels thoughtfully crafted and consistently tasty. The atmosphere is just as good as the food. It is decorated with cute indoor boho vibes with wooden plates, glass straws, and little aesthetic touches that make every dish feel special. They really care about the details. On top of it all, the staff is friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Definitely a go-to place if you’re looking for great food and a cozy, feel-good vibe.

Jester is a must visit - we went to this specific location but I'm sure they're all of similar great quality. If you wish to dine in, check upstairs first for a seat before ordering as you want to avoid ordering and then realising there are none! The acai bowl is absolutely spot on - my favourite one in seville. The granola was one of the nicest I've ever had! Coffee was great too!

This was my third and final visit. The first time I thought it was a fluke. The second time I was just as disappointed and this time guaranteed I will not be back because I had the same experience every time. First, they offer a full menu but are always missing more than half of it. Their menu says “meriendas”, but when I ordered a sandwich (at 16:30) they said they only offer them in the morning. But merienda literally means the meal between lunch and dinner. They also had a sign advertising their different breads, but apparently that is also only available for breakfast. I then ordered a Ginger smoothie and a chai tea without sugar. She said they don’t put sugar in the chai tea. My friends ordered two other smoothies. 10 minutes later they came back to tell me they didn’t have 3 of the 4 ingredients that went into my smoothie. My friend who ordered another smoothie also was told they were missing ingredients. Another 10 mins past and my chai tea came and it was SO SWEET that it gave me an instant headache. It was literally all sugar. My other friend ordered a banana smoothie and it came without any banana. We all tried it and none of us could taste it. She sent it back asking for banana and they added some, but you could barely taste it. We also ordered a cake and it came with a dirty spoon. When I asked for another one, I saw him go through the pile of spoons and pull out SEVERAL other obviously dirty spoons and throw them in the sink to be washed. Disgusting. The final reason why this place should be avoided is because it smells awful. It has the smell of sewage that usually comes from old pipes. But they used some sort of cinnamon air freshener to try to cover it. But it doesn’t work, it just makes it smell even worse. Like I said, I’ve been there 3 times and every time I had the same experience: - tons of things on the menu are unavailable - service sucks and while they take your order they come back 10+ minutes later to tell you they are missing ingredients - unhygienic - smells like sewage and air freshener and gave me an instant headache all 3 times I’ve been there. The only thing I like about the place is the decoration. I will certainly avoid this place. — The owner replied below (a month after the review) with a lot of attitude and didn’t acknowledge most of what I said and took no responsibility whatsoever. They made some irrelevant excuse that had nothing to do with what I mentioned and LIED about what the sign says. What a joke. Avoid this place at all costs. The food, service and ownership simply AWFUL.

Recommended to myself and my partner by our tattoo artist (shout out Carmen @ Haus of Tattoo), and so worth it! It’s a cute little spot with only 2 chairs, but every time we’ve been, we’ve been able to sit and chat with each other and with Rebecca behind the bar. They have bags of beans you can buy and they’ll grind them up for you if you like. Excellent, kind service. Not sure if anyone else besides Rebecca works there but she has quickly become a highlight of our time in Sevilla. Highly recommend 🙂

So hot: can't touch this. - The place varies quite a bit in quality or: Consistency is not found due to a volatility in professionalism. As always, I order the Cappuchino (3€ , normal size, Jan 2026) for a reasonable price. Food quality: One time the coffee is well balanced and the flavor is pretty good but with the typical Coffee-sweetness of many small roasters. The other day the milk is so hot that you can't touch the paper cup - and it is undrinkable hot. Sorry, but this place can't be recommended. The Armosphere is rated 2 because there is a busy road in front and inside no where to sit. Thus: not a place to sit quietly and enjoy spending a relaxed time. Overall: Next please.

Great coffee and croissants. Stopped off for a quick brew and bite to eat in the morning. The house coffee was really tasty (we had a cafe latte and an Americano) and was put together with a bit of love and pride. The guy serving was pleasant and helpful when deciding on our food (cheese and ham croissants). It’s definitely worth a stop off if you like a decent coffee, they also have an extensive range of artisan and small batch coffee bags to buy.

Visited Coffee Up this afternoon. Double espresso and iced coffee- good quality beans. We were served by a really friendly barrister who is originally from Italy but he has been living in Seville for 4 years. He was really friendly and a good advocate for Seville, its culture and people. Will definitely get another coffee before we leave. All coffee reasonably priced.

Tips for Choosing a Coffee Shop Near Torre del Oro

A little local knowledge goes a long way when choosing where to stop for coffee in this part of Seville. The area around Torre del Oro is compact, but the quality, price, and atmosphere of cafés can vary dramatically from one street to the next. These practical tips will help you match your mood, schedule, and budget to the right spot.

Go early for a local experience. Many traditional cafés near the river open early and fill with residents having a quick breakfast before work. Arriving before 9:30 a.m. gives you a more authentic atmosphere and better seating options, especially on weekends when popular spots fill quickly.

Learn the basic coffee language. In Seville, a “café solo” is an espresso, “café con leche” is half coffee and half hot milk, and “café cortado” is an espresso with a small amount of milk. If you prefer a longer, milder drink, ask for a “café americano.” Ordering in Spanish, even simply, is appreciated and often leads to better service.

Check if the terrace has shade or air conditioning. Seville summers are intense, and a sunny riverside terrace can be uncomfortable by midday. Look for interior seating, fans, or shaded outdoor tables. In winter, the opposite applies — a warm, enclosed space with natural light is ideal.

Look beyond the main pedestrian streets. The streets immediately facing Torre del Oro and the river can be crowded and overpriced. Walking just two or three blocks into the Arenal or Puerta de Jerez neighborhoods often reveals quieter cafés with better coffee and more reasonable prices.

Consider the time of day. A quick espresso at the bar is perfect for mid-morning, while a longer stay with a cold drink or specialty brew works better in the early afternoon. Many smaller coffee shops close for a few hours in the late afternoon or early evening, so check opening times before making a special trip.

Support independent roasters when possible. Seville has a growing number of small-batch roasters and independent coffee shops that source high-quality beans and train their staff carefully. Choosing these places not only gives you a better cup but also supports the local coffee community.

Bring cash for smaller traditional cafés. While most modern specialty coffee shops accept cards and mobile payments, some older family-run bars near the river may still prefer cash for small orders like a coffee and a pastry. Carrying a few euros in coins is always a smart idea.

The area around Torre del Oro offers far more than just a quick caffeine fix. It gives you a chance to slow down, watch the city wake up, and experience a side of Seville that many hurried visitors miss. Whether you are sitting at a marble counter with a cortado in hand or lingering over a flat white in a bright, modern café, the ritual of coffee here feels connected to the rhythm of the city itself.

Next time you find yourself near the river, skip the first tourist-heavy terrace you see and walk a little farther. The best coffee experiences near Torre del Oro are often tucked into quiet plazas, narrow side streets, or restored historic buildings — places where quality, atmosphere, and a genuine welcome come together. Your perfect cup is closer than you think.
