12 Best Cafes Near Torre del Oro

Sitting just steps from the shimmering Guadalquivir River, Torre del Oro is one of Seville’s most iconic landmarks. This 13th-century military watchtower anchors a vibrant neighborhood where the old city meets the riverfront promenade. After exploring the maritime museum inside, the natural next step is to find a comfortable spot to recharge with a coffee or a light bite.

The area surrounding the tower is deceptively residential, yet it hides a fantastic array of specialty coffee shops, traditional Spanish cafeterías, and modern brunch spots. Whether you are seeking a quick espresso before a bike ride along the river or a leisurely breakfast in the sun, the immediate vicinity offers plenty of variety. The proximity to El Arenal and the historic center makes this a prime location for coffee lovers.

Because Seville is a city that moves at its own pace, choosing the right café can define your morning or afternoon. You might want a quiet, air-conditioned refuge during the hot summer months, or an outdoor terrace to enjoy the mild winter sun. The best spots blend quality coffee with authentic Andalusian hospitality.

Local café culture here is diverse. You will find everything from third-wave roasters using single-origin beans to old-school bars serving café con leche alongside fresh churros. Understanding what each venue offers helps you match your mood to the experience, whether you need reliable Wi-Fi for remote work or a quick sugar boost before sightseeing.

This guide focuses on quality, consistency, and atmosphere. We have considered the quality of the coffee beans, the skill of the baristas, the comfort of the seating, and the overall value for money. We also prioritized locations that are genuinely walkable from the base of Torre del Oro, saving you time and energy.

From hidden patios to riverside terraces, these are the places where locals actually go to avoid the tourist traps. Each recommendation has been selected because it offers something distinct, whether that is a signature pastry, a stunning view of the tower itself, or the perfect roast.

Below, you will find a curated list of the twelve best options to satisfy your caffeine cravings in this historic district. These spots are organized to help you decide quickly, based on what you value most right now.

This coffee was at most acceptable however, I personally will not return. I ordered a large Cappuchino for 3,80 € (Jan. 2026) - easily a rather elevated price but one notices that this place get frequented by tourist who look for "something special" and don't mind paying higher prices. However, the Coffee tasted quite watery like flavoured brown water with good temperatured milk foam. Nothing more and nothing less.....there are many more places in Sevilla with better coffee and a better value for money.
Vancy★★★★★
The cappuccino was flavorful and full-bodied. It’s a tiny cafe, mainly focused on to-go orders. Since it’s sometimes not easy to find great coffee places in Seville, this spot is a real gem. Anyone who truly loves really good coffee should definitely visit this place!
James Maurice★★★★★
If you love your independent coffee shops that do coffee well then come here. Love to try different coffee shops wherever I visit, but after one visit here, I didnt need go elsewhere. Superb coffee and great service. Get your caffeine fix here!

Great strong coffee! Got the iced latte. No flavors available though
Kiki Leahy★★★☆☆
Similar experience to other reviews- for the price, the quality was not there. The coffee I was served was over extracted and watery. For the price and specialty vibe, I would have expected higher quality tuning of the beans from the barista. Fine if you don’t really care about coffee…

Great spot to stop for a rest and something a bit different to eat if you fancy a tiny break from tapas! Very friendly service and lovely, freshly made food and great coffee! Close to the 'mushrooms' and easy to find, but it still manages to be a little oasis of calm.

Lovely cafe close the Seville Cathedral. Thank you Inez for a wonderful service. She is welcoming, warm & gives good recommendations for what to order. Tasty coffee, açai bowl & bagel sandwiches. Banana bread and cinnamon rolls were a little dry, but yummy too! Highly recommended.
Caitlin Marchant★★★★★
Exceptional coffee and cakes - especially if your an early bird, the Jester opens at 8am! Vegan brownie was fantastic and it was gluten free which I was genuinely suprised how nice it was. My partner had the carrot cake and loved it! Take away service was great.

Very tasty breakfast and lunch! The selection is extensive and it is difficult to choose from all that deliciousness. Small terrace, but definitely worth a visit! It is very popular and therefore busy. Service was very quick and the staff was friendly!

This was a great place for breakfast/brunch. The fruit with yogurt stood out because of the quality of the fruit they put in it. The also offered a good English breakfast that my son had and enjoyed. The service was quick and we loved the outdoor seating. They had some indoor seating as well but we opted to sit outside.
Tahsin Khan★★★★★
I enjoyed my breakfast here. Their Turkish eggs were great, and the ambience is really nice. This place doesn't appear to be overhyped or crowded like many other brunch spots I recommended over many other popular brunch spots around town.
Karolina Szczerba★★★★★
If i could give cafe otto 10 stars, I would. All the cakes we tried (brownie, two kinds of cheesecakes) were one of the best we’ve ever had. Amazing savoury croissant. Came back multiple times, it was so great. The waiter (owner?) was super kind and helpful.
Kalsuma Begum★★★★★
Cutest little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Menu had good options for those who can’t eat meat and had nice sweet treats too. The iced caramel latte was gorgeous. Our server was very helpful and polite also!
Evie Coxon★★★★★
We came for three brunch times while we were in Seville, and the food and service was amazing every time. 10/10 would recommend. We had cocktails, coffee, crepes, club sandwich, bagels and toast and they were all delicious, I could not recommend this place enough!

I am not a big fan of pizza, however, this pizza was delicious! I could smell it cooking in the oven and I knew it was going to be great. From the quality of the pepperoni to the thin and crispy crust was nothing from perfection. Do not skip on the spicy sauce it added a whole new level to the pizza. Definitely recommend!
Sami R★★★★★
Having a wonder around and found this little gem! I ordered the pepperoni pizza, with added chilli oil recommended by member of staff, delicious. I can truly say it is the best pizza I've had for a while, the reviews don't lie. I am currently sat outside eating said pizza while typing this review. Thank you
Ashanty Esquivel★★★★★
Comimos la pizza de pepperoni y estuvo súper! It was very delicious and surprisingly light. Could’ve had another one. Highly recommend!
Pınar Gül 1.★★★★★
I've been traveling around Portugal and Spain for about a month, and I can say this is the best pizza I've had so far. The dough is perfectly thin, the toppings are generous, the service is excellent, and the staff member was helpful and polite. I should also mention that the pizza prices are quite reasonable. I think I'll definitely come back here. If you're in Seville and looking for good pizza, give this place a try.
Lorena Suarez Gil★★★★★
Hello! I am from Budapest, Hungary, but now I am working in Seville as a tourist guide. I discovered this pizzeria because my partner went during the breaks and it was my best discovery. I lived in Italy for a while and I can tell you that the calzones at this place look like real Italian calzones. You can choose the ingredients and the flavor is incredible. The guy is very nice, customer service is 10/10, sometimes there is a beautiful white puppy at the entrance, I hope that little guy has a good salary. In conclusion, all 10/10, I'm going to leave some photos so you can see the quality of the food.

This coffee shop was on my radar being so highly rated but because of its limited open timings it was a struggle to get coffee but it sure paid off when I managed to try the coffee. Nestled on the streets beside the setas you can sit on a bench, bask in the sun and try this complex, deep flavoured that somehow wasn't bitter even without any sweetener ( I usually have coffee with sweetener). Top coffee experiences in Spain for me.
Kim Mendoza★★★★☆
Little coffee shop with lots of character! You can see in the details and interiors of the shop. Excellent service as well. The barista was very helpful and warm when we asked about the beans and items in the menu. We also enjoyed the coffee. Tried both iced latte Regina and espresso tonic which were both flavorful. I would’ve given it 5 stars if there were pastries. But overall, a must try!!

LATE it is a coffee bar located not far away by alameda de hercules. The location it is tiny, fashionable and nice. The interior it is designed followed the minimalistic and freshly new yorker coffee bar style. The coffee it is well made it and one of the best tried in Sevilla. The service side sadly it is the least convincing part based on my experience. I can describe the service that I experienced like a little bit unfriendly and détachée. The Late’s it is a nice coffee bar but although If the service side was not satisfied I consider the LATE’s coffee bar a good place where to do a breakfast or a quick coffee break.
Christian Breitkreutz★★★★★
A cool coffee shop serving sandwiches and pastries, with solid coffee to match. It also works well as a spot to get some work done. The vibe is very hip and youthful, with a mix of locals and tourists. Staff felt a bit moody at times - though it might just be part of the place’s character.
Lea Sellam★★★★★
Good coffee places ! Recommend! WIFI 🛜 which is very rare in Spain in restaurants/ cafes . I love the cafe the carrot 🥕 cake was dry . The coffee is lovely
Anna Yanaeva★★★★★
As a coffee lover, checked out dozens of places around Sevilla and this is by far the best. It checks all the boxes: coffee is amazing, smooth and creamy. Food is great for a satisfying breakfast/brunch (jamon sandwich is to die for, avocado&feta is fresh and a great combo with fried almonds, chocolate cookie is not overly sweet and very flavorful). Last but not least: service is very friendly and efficient. It is a fairly small place, but I never had a problem finding a spot. Tables are cleaned in between guests (which is not always the case on other places). 10/10.
YAFEA ALYAFEI★★★★★
I had the pleasure of enjoying some delightful specialty coffee in Seville! The location was simply perfect, just a short 3-minute stroll from my hotel. The service was impressively quick, and I found the prices to be quite reasonable. I must say, the iced latte was absolutely delicious!

We had a wonderful breakfast experience at La Mala Brunch! We customized their Eggs Benedict toast by asking them to remove the bacon, and it was absolutely amazing with its sauce and bread. The pistachio cream croissant was also really good. Based on the reviews, we ordered the mascarpone pancake, and it was delicious too. In short, no matter what you order here, it is truly flavorful. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and solution-oriented. A fantastic breakfast spot in Seville that I highly recommend without hesitation!
Yayi Girl★★★★★
Delicious! Our waiter was very kind and attentive from the moment we sat down. Everything is made to order, which you can really taste in the quality. The coffee was also a standout — made just the way you like it. We’ll definitely be back!
Chris Android★★★★★
Excellent brunch at La Mala Brunch! We had several breakfasts there during our stay and everything was absolutely perfect. The place is modern and pleasant, although it can get a bit noisy during busy hours, which also shows how popular the restaurant is. The menu is very varied, with both indulgent and healthy options: pancakes, bagels, bowls, brunch burgers, fresh smoothies… it’s hard to choose because everything looks delicious. The products are fresh, beautifully presented, and the portions are generous. A real favorite in Seville, both for the quality of the food and the atmosphere. This place truly deserves its excellent Google rating. We would definitely recommend it and gladly come back!
Onepointfive★★★★★
During my stay in Seville, this hidden gem was right in front of the apartment we rented. I initially stopped by for a coffee, but the menu looked so appetizing that I decided to order the club sandwich as well, and it was amazing! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. A very cool spot with excellent food and coffee. Highly recommended!
Ronnie Adel★★★★★
One of the best and delicious brunch ever had. The place is a little bit busy and there is a waiting list, but definitely worth the wait. Coffee came hot and strong, food was super tasty, fresh and delicious too. Everything was top notch quality indeed. This is a highly recognizable place in Seville.

Panypiu is a very pleasant spot for breakfast or a light meal. The coffee is excellent, and both the croissant and the sandwich are fresh and tasty, making for a satisfying combination. Overall, it’s a simple but high-quality place that works well for a relaxed start to the day in Seville.

Bakery with delicious and varied food options. We tried the focaccia, pistachio croissant, milk bun and apricot pastry and all were perfect, as was the coffee
Rhyannon★★★★★
Found this place thanks to Google reviews. What a wonderful cafe bakery. First visit to Seville and this cafe and the staff are friendly and helpful. Supportive to you learning Spanish but also speak in English if you get stuck. We weren’t exactly sure of how to get served at first but approached the counter to wait. A couple of times we were missed but I honestly think that was down to us speaking to each other - so we weren’t interrupted. As soon as we stood with purpose and engaged, made eye contact with staff, we were served. The food we ordered was wonderful, I had the spinach quiche and OH MY WORD! Out of this world, I’m pretty convinced there was goats cheese in it. Whatever cheese it was it was lush and the texture of the warmed quiche with the salad and balsamic was spot on. Cappuccino for me. Appletiser and bagel with ham cheese and rocket for my partner. He loved it too. Highly recommended. The interior and atmosphere is also very calming and welcoming. One thing I also love is the thought to add hooks under the table for your belongings. Wish more places in the UK thought to do this. Facilities include - fully accessible toilet, baby changing space in there and I spotted a highchair too. Everyone is welcome.
Alexander Slipchenko★★★★★
Pretty decent experience overall. Good breakfast options, a lot of nice pastry. English breakfast good, but on a small side of scale. Cards are accepted. In the morning can be pretty hectic - queue is rather unorganized and seating places are pretty scarce.
Juhee An★★★★★
Panypiu - Bread and much more The best bakery in Seville! I’ve been trying many croissants almost 4 weeks in Seville. Among nice bakeries in the city, I found this place as my number one because it has more than just pan 🙂 My favorites were the croissant and pain au chocolat. They are crispy outside, moist inside from enough butter. For me, the chocolate in pain au chocolat was also rich and just right. And the price is reasonable, the size is very generous. The staffs are so patient and warm- hearted even when it’s too busy which is always. They are focused on what they should serve. I think the team works very efficiently. I admire their work. I already became a repeat customer here. My breakfast time here was the happiest time during my stay in Seville 🙂 I hope all best to everyone who works here. 👍

Very decent place to eat tapas with two floor and clean and nice environment. The lady upstairs was very nice and attentive. You'll definitely enjoy your food after a long walk in hot and sunny day in this cool and nice restaurant.

Decent tapas, tasty sangria. Pretty busy due to nice selection of food and reasonable prices. Beef stew was great.

Has a mixed experience while dining here. We went here for dinner without a reservation and they seated us at a table near the bar, which was fine . However the service is very very poor, it was quite cold and it took a long time for us to actually get English menus and get their attention to place our order. The food however was quite good . We ordered a large variety of things. All are very well priced and generous in portion. You must try the risotto it was the best of the lot, the fried cheese was also excellent. The spinach with chickpeas was good but a bit dull in flavour. The pork loin was not worth it , too rubbery and bland , same with the shrimp . We really enjoyed the orange wine. Overall a decent experience to dine never the water.
Alžběta Holcová★★★★★
Try Pastela de Pollo, its so delicious! All those tapas are wonderful too 🙂 reasonable prises

Its seems that this restaurant is actually a franchise bc they've "La Gorda" in Las setas and also in La Magdalena, so thus one is my third time in this company. Alright, the decoration is certaintly cozy, and the environement is not bad, suitable to stay at lunch of after work. However the service is and being honest, lame. The waitress "carmen" had NO CLUE of english, she didn't make neither the less effort to understand me just saying "no english,no english, no english" like if she were a parrot. I think she didn't take my order properly either bc I noticed that some of the tables that came after me they got their meals first, and one, it like were like two, and the order the dishes arrived in a very messy order, the one that was supposed to be the starter (spinach with chickpeas) arrived at last, when it supposed to be the first item to be on table! Definitely they should improve the service bc not only locals are paying for your wage, d' you understand? Anyway, the food was actually good there was no need to season it, bc it was made properly, specially the sirloin with roquefort sauce which it was by far, the best thing I've order.

We stopped off here for pre dinner drinks on our last night in Seville. It is an extremely stylish venue high up above the river looking out toward the Cathedral. We didn't have any food hence the lack of rating for their food. The service however, drinks and vibe plus its amazing location made it a very special place for early evening drinks. We enjoyed a couple of hours soaking up the vista and our drinks.
joyce ..★★★★★
The floor-to-ceiling glazed windows create a truly delightful atmosphere, offering stunning views of the iconic Torre del Oro as a breathtaking backdrop. I chose the Triana Gourmet Experience menu and thoroughly enjoyed the leisurely two-hour journey through 7/8 courses, each arriving one by one. Every dish was exquisitely presented, and the waiter’s detailed explanations added a lovely personal touch to the experience. The smooth foie gras was an absolute highlight and my clear favourite. While the acidic, cold and raw Ceviche wasn’t quite to my taste, it was still interesting to try. The evening concluded with an interesting dessert "Disaster with the cappuccino" (not a coffee) rounding off a wonderful dining experience.
Justina Umo★★★★★
We celebrated my partner’s birthday at Abades Triana and it was everything we hoped for. We booked a Premium Table and the front-row window view of the Guadalquivir and Seville was absolutely spectacular, especially as the city lit up in the evening. The welcome drink and thoughtful little birthday dessert were lovely touches, and the atmosphere was elegant and perfect for a special occasion. When we had a little mixup with our order, it was immediately fixed. It is certainly a little more expensive, but for a special celebration, the experience was absolutely worth it. Thank you, Abades Triana, for helping make his birthday so memorable. ❤️
Doug Wilson★★★★★
Lovely views across the river back to the city. Delicious food and excellent, attentive service. Don't be put off by the ostentatious main entrance. Continue a little way down the sidewalk, past the hedges, and you'll find an entrance to a more casual deck with the same menu/kitchen. And don't miss the Disaster with the Capucino!
Mark Allred★★★★★
We were lucky enough to be able to get a table without a reservation and were very happy with their recommended menu combinations. Excellent food and beautiful view as well. Only negative aspect was that we had to flag a waiter down every time we wanted a new drink.

Tips for Choosing the Best Café Experience

Navigating the café scene near Torre del Oro requires a bit of local insight to maximize your enjoyment. The neighborhood serves a mix of tourists, office workers, and lifelong residents, which means the quality and pace can vary significantly from one street to the next. By following a few practical guidelines, you can avoid the common pitfalls of overpriced, low-quality coffee and find the hidden gems that make Seville’s café culture so special.

Timing is everything. Seville runs on a different clock than much of Europe. If you want a quiet coffee, go before 10:00 AM or after 5:00 PM. Between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, the area around Torre del Oro gets busy with sightseeing groups, and service can slow down.

Look for the "tostado natural" sign. Many traditional Spanish cafés serve torrefacto coffee, which is roasted with sugar and can taste burnt or bitter. If you prefer a smoother, higher-quality cup, look for signs or menus that mention café de especialidad or tostado natural.

Embrace the bar culture. In traditional Spanish cafés, table service can be slow, but standing at the bar is fast and often cheaper. If you just need a quick espresso and a glass of water, walk straight to the bar, order, and pay when you leave.

Check the terrace pricing. Sitting outside with a view of the river or the Torre del Oro is beautiful, but many terraces charge a supplement. Always check the menu for a "suplemento de terraza" or simply ask if the price changes if you sit outside. This can save you a euro or two per drink.

Don’t skip the pastry case. A café is only as good as its food pairing. Look for places that display fresh tostas, palmeras, or local pastries. If the pastry case looks stale or empty, it is often a sign that the café relies purely on foot traffic rather than repeat customers.

Ask for "leche fría" in summer. If you order a café con leche during the scorching summer months, you might want it cooler. Ask for café con leche fría or try a café del tiempo, which is an espresso served with ice and a slice of lemon. It is a refreshing local tradition.

Respect the siesta. While the area near Torre del Oro is tourist-heavy, many family-run cafés still close between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM, especially in August. If you plan to have a late-afternoon coffee, choose a hotel café or a modern specialty shop, as they typically stay open continuously.

Prioritize shade in peak summer. Seville’s heat is relentless, especially near the river where the sun reflects off the water. A café with a shaded patio, misting fans, or strong air conditioning is worth more than a scenic view during July and August. Your comfort will directly impact how much you enjoy your coffee.

The area around Torre del Oro offers a fascinating snapshot of Seville’s evolving coffee identity. You can start your day with a traditional café con leche and a slice of toast with tomato, then return in the afternoon for a carefully poured flat white made by a passionate barista. The contrast between old and new is part of what makes this riverfront district so compelling.

Ultimately, the best café is the one that fits your specific needs at that moment. Whether you are seeking a quiet corner to journal, a quick jolt before climbing the Giralda, or a scenic spot to watch the rowers on the Guadalquivir, this list provides a reliable starting point. Take your time, sip slowly, and enjoy the rhythm of life along the river.
