We had a best time here. As tourist, the atmosphere really welcoming and warm. Food was fantastic. We had Liguini with Prawn and Baby octopus, vanilla créme brulee, and hot chocolate. Definitely will recommend this place to our friends!
Isabela Ruiz★★☆☆☆
Well located and has a cozy atmosphere. The food is decent, and I ordered the breakfast, which was fair for the price. The coffee and fresh orange juice were definitely the highlight. That said, the bread was cold and quite hard, and the eggs were very plain… nothing special or memorable. Overall, the food was average at best. The real disappointment, however, was the service. The waiters technically do their job: they take your order and bring the food but that’s where it ends. There’s no greeting, no smile, no basic courtesy. The attitude feels indifferent and borderline unpleasant, as if customers are an inconvenience rather than the reason the place exists. It genuinely gives the impression they dislike their job and unfortunately, that energy is passed directly onto the guests.

One of the first cafes I went to on my trip to Paris & definitely ended up going again. Food was delicious & I had one of the best martinis here. The view of the Arc de Triomphe as you eat is just beautiful. Definitely recommend checking this cafe out for a nice calm atmosphere.

We stopped by Cafe Lateral for a relaxed Parisian café-style meal, and overall the experience was pleasant enough, though not particularly memorable. Atmosphere-wise, it’s quite charming. We were seated inside a little glasshouse section of the restaurant, which I actually enjoyed. Sunlight was streaming through the glass, giving the space a warm, relaxed feel. It had that casual Paris café vibe that makes you slow down a bit and enjoy the moment. Food was a mixed bag. The French onion soup was good, comforting and flavourful, exactly what you hope for with a classic like that. The escargot tasted fine as well, though the portion felt quite small given the price, just half a dozen for what felt like a premium tag. The beef tartare was alright, but nothing special. Perfectly edible, just average at most. The creamy chicken with rice was decent and probably one of the more satisfying dishes we had. Simple, hearty, and straightforward. The pumpkin dish, however, didn’t quite land for me. It felt very one dimensional in flavour, lacking depth or contrast to make it interesting. Service-wise, there isn’t much to say. It was okay, very much what you’d expect from a typical Paris café. Not particularly warm or attentive, but not rude either. Overall, Cafe Lateral is a pleasant enough stop if you’re nearby and want a casual meal in a nice setting. It's a touristy area, just so you should know.

Very plush and upmarket. A touch of style near the Arc de Triomphe. Great selection of drinks. A little more expensive, but you are paying for the luxury and the location. Very pleasant staff.

It’s an amazing place, great service, amazing food, not super high prices. I’ve gone a few times in different occasions and it never disappoints.

The waiters looked tired, the food arrived super quick and it was cold. They asked how I wanted my tuna steak but what for? They sent it cold and overcooked. It looks like they prepare things in advance and microwave them. But at least warm them up well enough!

What a great place. Wonderful summer evening atmosphere and delightful service. Fantastic food and all reasonably priced - all 100m from the arc du triomphe! Highly recommended.

We went for dinner on Saturday night. Everything was so delicious. We loved all the food. Ambient is very cosy and service is very fast. If you’re looking to eat close by Arch de Triomphe this place is perfect. Highly recommend.

L'Arc Cafe is located on Carnot Avenue about 4 blocks from the Arc de Triomphe. The food was good. The Beef Ribeye Steak was cooked well and had a good flavor, however it had lots of fat. The steak was not worth 32€. The butcher's cut steak was a really large steak and also cooked well. One at our table was really good and the other had lots of fat. It was a better deal at 21€. The lemon crepes were really good and the chicken dippers with chili sauce were also good. The French Onion soup starter was really good. Overall the restaurant was good.

We had an amazing experience at Le Café de Paris, especially thanks to our waitress Aminata (“Mina”). We were a group of 11 people, including 3 elderly family members and 2 children. Only 2 adults and the children spoke English, and nobody spoke French, but Mina made a real effort to understand every single person’s order patiently and carefully. That made a huge difference for our family. All the orders arrived correctly and surprisingly fast. The food was delicious, and the children were absolutely delighted. At one point, they asked for a straw (or maybe napkins, we don’t even remember exactly), and they were unexpectedly given a slice of pizza. Later, they also received macarons together with the dessert they ordered. Those small gestures made them incredibly happy. The most impressive part came when it was time to pay. We needed to split the bill into 3 different groups, with many different orders, and everything was separated perfectly. I was so impressed that I asked Mina how she managed to keep track of everything, and she said she did it all from memory. Honestly, impeccable service. Thank you, Mina, for making our family dinner such a memorable experience.

Nice place, good food. Service is ok. Virgin mojito was very good. Wine selection is also decent. We also gad a Caesar salad and onion soup. Food is decent. I was surprised that we easily seated there, thought there would be no free tables.
Alex Kwon★★☆☆☆
the woman with thick framed glasses and a long ponytail is a bit of a slacker when it comes to doing her job properly. Probably bc I am asian, an opinion reflected in other reviews from a year ago. The entrecote was overcooked with about two or three good bites and the sauce lacked depth. Also tried to charge for tap water. Check your bill carefully, you may find some extras on there.

Cosy spot for a coffee. We took the family here and they were happy to find us a table for a quick drink stop. Bathrooms are clean and comfortable to use. The hot chocolates were nice (not quite filled to the top though), the black tea with milk was nice and the frappe was good too. Staff were pleasant. Good atmosphere with people talking and background jazz music. Well lit.

My wife and I recently spent our vacation in Paris after traveling from Italy, and while exploring the city with friends, we decided to stop at the Café George V on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées for a coffee. We found the service to be excellent and the location itself is undeniably iconic, yet the experience was dampened by the prices, which are enormously high and feel completely disproportionate to what you actually receive. While the coffee was good, it simply does not justify the significant amount of money spent, and in our opinion, not even the prestigious location is enough to make the cost worthwhile.
Ayesha Manan★★☆☆☆
A cafe on the Champs-Élysées. The waiters were all relatively older, professional men, and the service was quick. That was my first impression of them. However, they made quite a few mistakes with our orders. A couple of our orders took a long time to arrive, so we asked them to make it to go instead of dining in. Despite that, when I paid by card, a waiter asked me "How much?" All he had to do was enter the price on the bill. Simple. That already included service charge. In other words, he demanded me a tip I assume. I paid a rounded price and change.

The service by Mr. Marceau was exceptional . He was welcoming and attentive even though it was very late and the end of a long day . The steak was tasty and the potato gratin was delicious . The onion soup was a bit watery but tasty . The spaghetti bolognese was good too . We enjoyed our experience and would definitely recommend to others . Especially since most restaurants were closed and this cafe offered a very good late night dinner .

Tourist trap. You might be looking for a quick bite nearby or a place that’s open late. Keep looking. Food is ok, but your waiter will bring you €8 Evian water bottles when you ask for water. He’ll ask if you want still or sparkling, but will never say “bottled or tap”. And then, at the end of the meal he’ll have the audacity to ask how much to run your card for because the tip isn’t included in the total. Buddy, find your tip amongst the €16 of Evian water you chose to serve us. Note that you’ll be charged to take your leftovers. And, if what enticed you to this place was the sandwich section, that is to go only. Would never return here and recommend you avoid.

Had an easy, relaxing lunch at Café George V. Loved the courteous service and good food selection. They recommended a jumbo prawn linguine that wasn’t even on the menu—absolutely delicious! Perfect atmosphere right along the Champs-Élysées.

Amazing atmosphere, amazing food and staff. So kind and funny. We took a burger, cordon bleu and a dessert. The best Pannacotta and food!! (and coming from two Italians!) Come here you will not regret it. Right in front of the Arc de Triomphe 🥰

We only stopped for dessert, but the owner Bernard made me wish we had had a whole meal. He is a wonderful man! Never a dull moment. He took our pictures and made us feel right at home. He didn't even want us to leave. The highlight was President Macron just casually walking by and stopping to take pictures!

Good service is hard to find, but excellent service is rare and Bernard and Alice went above and beyond for us. We requested to sit inside only because it was a little chilly and he went as far as bringing my wife a blanket to cozy up in. The food was better than the service to say the least. Highly recommend, god willing I plan on returning for another lovely meal!

I enjoyed a very solid lunch here, right next to the Arc de Triomphe. I ordered the Spaghetti alla Napoletana, and the portions were generously sized with beautifully fresh ingredients. The pasta was slightly overcooked for my personal preference, but overall it was a tasty dish. The location is fantastic, offering a lovely view, and the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive throughout the meal. A great spot for a satisfying lunch in a prime Parisian setting!

The service was extremely disappointing. We waited more than 15 minutes just to receive the menu. When we asked about it, we were told, “You have to wait, sir. The waiter is alone.” The food looked good, but unfortunately, it didn’t taste as good as it looked. After the food was finally served, we had to wait another 10–15 minutes just to get cutlery. We were told they were washing the cutlery because the restaurant had run out. After all this waiting, we were expecting at least a decent meal, but the food was very average and honestly disappointing. Overall, the experience was not worth the wait.

I came here twice in a row, one for brunch and then for lunch the next day. Its a great little cafe, the food is super fresh and good quality and great value for money. Portion size is very good. I've struggled finding good lattes so this place wins for the coffee option for me also. Additionally the chicken is halal.

ЕЛЕНА СУРОВЦОВА★★★★★
I’ve been coming to this café for breakfast three days in a row, and it has truly become my favorite spot. They serve the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had — everything is incredibly fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are exceptionally kind, attentive, and friendly. On my last day, I came for breakfast as usual and wanted to take my usual croissant and coffee to go. Unfortunately, they had run out of croissants — but instead, they kindly gifted me a cinnamon roll to take away. It was such a thoughtful and generous gesture that genuinely made my day. A big thank you to the entire team for their hospitality and care. I will definitely be coming back!

This was my favorite restaurant on my whole trip to Paris. While a bit pricy, our food choices (fish and chips, and fried chicken) were innovative and delicious, and we had a great view from the glass patio. Our server was friendly and helpful. Don't miss the adorable gift shop next door. I wouldn't expect food of this caliber in such a tourist area so it was a very pleasant surprise.

Café du Trocadéro feels like one of those classic Paris moments you never forget 🇫🇷✨ From the cozy terrace to the warm lights at night, everything feels elegant, relaxed, and beautifully Parisian. Enjoying it all with the Eiffel Tower nearby just makes the atmosphere feel magical. 🥐☕✨ Whether it’s breakfast in the morning or coffee at night watching Paris glow… this place feels like a movie scene. ✔️ Beautiful ambiance ✔️ Great food & desserts ✔️ Perfect Paris vibes ✔️ A must-stop near Trocadéro A little piece of Paris you’ll want to come back to again and again. 100% recommend

This was our first official food stop on our tour of Paris and it dod not disappoint. How many places can you sit and watch while watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle? Aside from that, the food was excellent. Highly recommend finishing your meal with the pistachio lava cake!! The service is incredible as well. Noe was wonderful!! The pistachio lava cake was actually his recommendation. Highly highly recommend!!

The atmosphere was lovely, and we genuinely enjoyed the location and the overall experience. The food was average, nothing particularly memorable. Unfortunately, what really disappointed us was that one of the staff members added a €10 tip without asking or giving us the chance to approve it before processing the payment. We only noticed after the transaction was completed. This is not acceptable and leaves a negative impression. I hope the restaurant addresses this, as it reflects poorly on an otherwise pleasant place.

At Café de Trocadéro, the setting is honestly the main character — right by Eiffel Tower with unreal views that instantly set the mood. The space itself is beautiful, super Parisian, and perfect for a chill meal with a view. We ordered spinach ravioli, rigatoni pasta, sea bass, a basil-based dish, and their Trocadéro special mojito — overall, the food was good and the drinks were refreshing. That said, a couple of things could’ve been better: the bread was served cold (which was a bit disappointing).
MJ★★★★☆
The dining experience at Café du Trocadero was truly elevated by the staff, who were extremely welcoming and provided amazing service from start to finish. While the food is great, there is some room for improvement in the kitchen; for instance, our steak arrived medium-rare despite being ordered medium. However, the shrimp pasta was absolutely delicious, and the cocktails were mixed to perfection alongside an good wine selection. It is a fantastic spot for late-night dining, though I would recommend skipping the hot chocolate, as the quality was quite disappointing compared to the rest of the menu.

We visited for breakfast and had a croissant with pesto sauce along with eggs. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. The buttery flavor of the croissant really stood out, making it one of the best we’ve had in Paris. The highlight, though, was enjoying breakfast with a breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower on a romantic Saturday morning. The atmosphere was peaceful, the service was friendly, and the whole experience felt truly special. If you’re looking for a memorable breakfast spot in Paris, this place is definitely worth visiting. Highly recommended!

‼️‼️‼️**reviews & rating are fake** ‼️‼️‼️ The food was good, but honestly, it could have been better. The service was friendly, but I was really surprised by how highly this place is rated. It’s a very small restaurant with no view or particularly special atmosphere. If you’re a tourist visiting the area, I would def recommend looking around, you can find much better places with better food, atmosphere, and overall experience. I also looked more closely at some of the reviews afterward and noticed some things that made me question how genuine the ratings are. So, my advice: don’t just rely on the reviews or the high rating, see what else is around before choosing this place. def not the amazing experience I expected based on the rating.
Alberto Burzi★☆☆☆☆
Overpriced for what we got, which consisted of already cold dishes when they arrived at the table. Industrial “sous vide” eggs benedict, no-taste hollandais sauce, 4 leaves of salad with one lonely piece of olive forgotten inside. French toast that was probably forgot somewhere, completely cold and with whipped cream already melted and spread everywhere. The place is narrow with an underground room with some tables and a toilet. No ambiance at all. We did not wait to be seated because we booked, however when we went away we were not surprised seeing a long queue on the outside in spite of many tables available besides us in the underground room since at least 45min. We gave our feedback at the counter. No comment back. We will not return.

Had a wonderful experience at Terre d’Azur Arc de Triomphe! The food and coffee were excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxed breakfast and brunch. A special thank you to Katia for her outstanding service. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. What impressed me the most was that she actually recognized me when I came back more than two weeks later! I was genuinely surprised that she remembered me after such a long time—it was a small but very thoughtful gesture that made the experience feel personal and memorable. Great food, great coffee, and exceptional customer service. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back again!

Such a fun and unique experience! If you want to feel like you've stepped back in time in Paris, this is your place. The moment you walk in, the gorgeous ceiling mural, gold moldings, marble tables, and deep burgundy leather booths transport you to early 1900s France. The ambiance alone is worth the visit. For food, I had the French onion soup — rich, deep, perfectly caramelized onions with that melted cheese crust that makes you close your eyes on the first bite. Classic and done right. Then came the Bœuf Bourguignon , meat in cast iron fall-off-the-bone tender, absolutely packed with flavor. Presented beautifully right in the pot, which kept everything piping hot. The service matched the elegance of the setting — attentive without being intrusive. This is the kind of restaurant Paris does better than anywhere else in the world. A must if you're near the Champs-Élysées area.

We stopped in for coffee and their famous giant croissant. Both were delicious and worth it. The comfy armchairs were a welcome change from the usual tiny café seating, making it a cosy spot to relax and chat. Unfortunately, the tables were greasy and chairs crumbly, and overall cleanliness could be improved. The biggest letdown was having the bill brought over unprompted while we were still chatting, which made us feel rushed despite plenty of empty tables. A slightly sour end to what could have been a really pleasant visit.

Café L’Étoile 1903 is a beautiful and stylish place with a very Parisian atmosphere. We tried the giant French croissant with hot chocolate, and the presentation was very nice. The croissant was impressive in size, crispy on the outside, and soft inside. The hot chocolate was warm, rich, and enjoyable, making it a nice combination, especially for a classic Paris café experience. The place is definitely good for a one-time experience, especially if you want to try something special, take nice photos, and enjoy the atmosphere. However, the prices are quite high, so it may not be somewhere I would visit regularly. Overall, Café L’Étoile 1903 is worth trying once for the experience, the location, and the beautiful serving style, but be prepared for premium prices.

We had the chance to visit during lunchtime and really enjoyed the experience. The quality of the ingredients was outstanding, and the service was friendly, welcoming, and always delivered with a smile. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. My only criticism would be the drinks, which felt a bit overpriced compared to the rest of the menu.

This place is located directly opposite the hotel I was staying so had dinner with a friend. Booking online was easy, friendly greetings and pleasant ambience. Quiet on a Friday night. The wine / cocktail list is compact but reasonably priced. We had onion soup and then chicken with pasta. Needed some proper seasoning and garnishes. Service was friendly, within expectation.

Tips for Choosing a Café near the Arc de Triomphe

Finding the right spot often depends on what you need from the experience, whether it is a quick bite or a place to linger for an hour. The area around the monument is one of the most expensive real estate markets in Paris, which means prices can fluctuate wildly between a standard brasserie and a hidden local gem. Understanding a few unwritten rules of Parisian café culture will help you save money and avoid disappointment while ensuring you get the authentic experience you are looking for.

1. Step Away from the Avenue for Better Value
The cafés directly on the Champs-Élysées and the immediate perimeter of the Place de l’Étoile often charge a premium for the view. While the scenery is iconic, the quality of the coffee and food is frequently standardized and overpriced. Walk just two or three blocks down Avenue Victor Hugo, Rue de Presbourg, or Rue de Tilsitt to find establishments that cater to residents rather than tourists, often with better prices and more careful preparation.

2. Understand the "Counter" vs. "Terrace" Pricing
In many traditional brasseries in this district, the price of your coffee changes depending on where you consume it. Standing at the zinc bar (le comptoir) is the cheapest option, sitting inside at a table costs a bit more, and sitting on the terrace is the most expensive. If you are on a budget but want the experience of a historic café, drink your espresso standing at the bar like a true Parisian before continuing your walk.

3. Check the Roaster
Paris has undergone a specialty coffee revolution, but not every café that looks modern serves good beans. If you are particular about your espresso or filter coffee, look for signs indicating local roasters like Coutume, Belleville Brûlerie, or Lomi. These establishments prioritize single-origin beans and proper extraction, offering a welcome break from the dark, bitter "café traditionnel" often served in older brasseries.

4. Timing is Everything
The rhythm of the neighborhood changes drastically depending on the hour. Between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM, cafés are packed with office workers grabbing a quick breakfast. Lunch service typically runs strictly from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM, and kitchens often close in between. If you want a quiet seat or a table on a popular terrace, aim for the off-hours, such as mid-morning (10:30 AM) or late afternoon (4:00 PM).

5. Don’t Skip the Pastry Counter
In this part of the 8th and 16th arrondissements, many cafés double as high-end patisseries. Even if the coffee is average, the baked goods might be exceptional. Look for displays featuring "viennoiseries" like croissants and pain au chocolat that look golden and flaky. If the café has an in-house baker or sources from a named local bakery, it is usually a sign that the food is taken as seriously as the drinks.

6. Wi-Fi and Workspace Etiquette
While Parisian cafés are becoming more laptop-friendly, many traditional terraces near the Arc de Triomphe prefer a "no laptop" policy during lunch and dinner hours. If you need to work, look for specialty coffee shops that advertise Wi-Fi or have communal tables. Generally, it is polite to order food if you plan to occupy a table for more than an hour, especially during peak meal times.

Taking a break in this historic district is about soaking in the architecture and the energy of the city. Whether you choose a gilded historic interior or a sleek modern counter, the pause will give you the energy to tackle the rest of the 8th arrondissement.

The area around the Arc de Triomphe rewards those who wander just beyond the main thoroughfare. With this list and these tips, you are well-equipped to find a spot that feels like your own private corner of Paris.
